He felt most unhappy. His whole body could hardly take the walk to his apartment. It was torture with every step he took as his legs trembled.
The week had barely started and he had had enough of his practice classes, which as usual had made no progress at all, and his awakening hadn't manifested in class either.
Unfortunately after having made attempts, he was exhausted from so much fatigue. Although he also had a couple of traces from earlier in the day.
When classes started, his teacher treated him too harsh all the time in almost all his classes —except for the normal ones, but she didn't change her attitude of giving him a lot of attention in her classes—. There was still resentment in her actions for not listening to her in the faculty office.
Wasn't it simpler that it would only have served him to have knocked him out and sent him to the infirmary?
In any case, it was no longer so necessary to discuss this topic with himself. He was already in the past and now he was only scarred all over his body—not literally. His body made her believe that gravity was pressing down on him until he was tired.
As soon as he passed the main entrance of the apartment building, he headed for the elevator. The doors let out a creak, and slowly split in half. Being impatient, Boruto pushes the elevator door aside, his body couldn't take much anymore, he just wanted to be in bed for a moment and be able to rest without worries. Maybe he would ask Sumire to use the phone to order something for home.
Arriving at the fifth floor, he walked down the corridor, showing how there was no wind in this part. Maybe it's the feeling of suppression from the neighboring block that's so close that it makes you feel hotter than usual.
As he walked down the corridor until he reached his respective door of his apartment, a certain strange sensation passed through his stomach.
—¿Eh?
It was there that he finally noticed that on the other side of his bedroom door there was no noise, not even the sound of the television. She thought about the possibility that she had fallen asleep, but it wasn't very reliable, not to mention that she wasn't hearing any breathing from the other side of the door.
Boruto had only begun to have a bad feeling about it, to which he directly opened it with his keys until it was completely open at once.
He went deeper until he went to the usual small room, and the one that was used as much as the living room as well as his room. As soon as he looked around the place there was what had worried him the most; Sumire wasn't there.
Of course there was no trace of her anywhere, not even her usual kimono clothes, although it was the only clothes she had on.
He had only forgotten to turn off the lights, but the matter was that he was not there. She had disappeared and without any sign, there was no trace of her as if someone had kidnapped her.
"Couldn't it be…?"
If his instincts weren't wrong, it was very possible that he got out. Could it be that she was going to continue looking for more clues about his memories? Impossible! Even though it wasn't supposed to be a dangerous hour to go out so late—besides there weren't many problems with the students to be taken care of in case they had problems—but it was impossible for her to be well. The violet-haired girl was not a student, so things could easily be complicated for her.
He had already been out for a whole night and nothing bad happened to him, but there is no guarantee that he would have the same luck a second time. Just thinking about the worst thing that could happen to her made her stomach turn.
"I have to find her before something bad happens to her."
He didn't think twice to turn around to run towards the door until he closed it with a gate.
He hurried as fast as he could to go to the first floor of the building, but instead of taking the elevator again he preferred the stairs so as not to waste time.
He cared little for the sensation of pain in his trembling body that was not in very good shape right now.
Knowing what could happen to Sumire alone filled him with concern. She never believed how hard she could take responsibility for a person, one whom she had met on the street.
It had only been days, he wouldn't have to be so worried about a stranger, but it was a life he had taken responsibility for and that was something his father had taught him.
If he were in this same situation, he was sure that he would not let him pass and would go in search of him. He knew it, that was how his father had been since he had known him and he wouldn't want to let him down.
๑๑๑
He had run through much of the downtown area, as well as the area of one of the parks near his apartment. She didn't get anything.
Two hours passed in which he was looking around, but he still did not get a clue, even asking anyone who crossed his path and began to despair. He was getting migraines to keep thinking of the worst situations Sumire could find herself in.
He checked the ice cream store where they went on Friday, but there was nothing, even the man who had attended them did not give him a favorable answer.
He had his options of asking the police for help, but he didn't want to get involved or make a big deal out of it, or even have to look for the Lexes , who were people who were dedicated to bringing order to all of Academy City.
The most reasonable decision would be the latter, but if she did, they would begin to inspect her, question her, and even investigate her. It wouldn't be bad if they did it to make it faster, but her instinct told her no, so he chose to do it alone.
"I think this is the worst start to the week I've ever had in my life, 'ttebasa."
He felt sorry for himself as he paused on a utility pole while he caught his breath, glancing at one of the nearby clocks, discovering that it had already struck 8 o'clock at night.
It had been a mistake to see the time, it had only put him under more pressure for time and to find it. His head only wished at least once to have some lead on Sumire, but having been unsuccessful he began to resume his search for her.
Going in the direction of some stairs that led to a path that connected him to different bridges above the streets which people used to go from one side to another without having to cross the streets below.
He went up the stairs towards it to go to the next side street, but as soon as he turned to the corner of the road he accidentally crashed into another person.
Both he and the other one had swayed losing their balance, but fortunately neither had fallen to the ground, however, Boruto had not been able to avoid getting dirty on his uniform shirt.
What other disasters can occur? A question that he had not dared to give to the four winds, since something like this would have happened, but in the end it happened.
“Great, now I'll have to refrain from cleaning it up before tomorrow. She protested looking at the stain on her clothes.
—Look what you did, I stained my clothes, and that was new.
The other person in question had also complained about his misfortune, but with the difference of walking towards the Uzumaki.
Upon hearing this claim, there was nothing to prevent Uzumaki Boruto from starting to get on his bad side, adding to his state of stress from finding Sumire.
He looked up to see who he had bumped into. Hearing the other person's voice, he didn't react startled, but he met a girl with brown eyes just like her hair who was in two pigtails. He didn't deny that she seemed cute to him, especially having her close to him, but he didn't have time to contemplate one girl while he searched for another.
Unfortunately, when he reframed those thoughts properly, he seemed like a disgusting playboy. Furthermore, he also wanted to go quickly to find Sumire when the girl in front of her was upset, just like him.
"I'm sorry, but I'm in a hurry." Shortly after speaking to him, he clicked her head quickly. Hey, did you happen to see a girl around here?
"You shock me and then you ask me if I've seen a girl?" Her—she looked indignant at the question. Do you have no manners?
-I'm in a hurry! Boruto yelled.
The cry was a little high that even one other person nearby looked at them strangely, but soon Boruto saw how the girl had shuddered. This made Boruto feel bad for his attitude.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
"No, it's okay…" he softened. It was my fault too for rushing in, even though it was my fault too.
—Me too, I'm looking for a person and I can't find her.
"Well, now that I get a good look at you, you look very desperate." —Her look at her made the Uzumaki uncomfortable.
She seemed like a nice girl, but she was also kind of weird with that look that was surveying him. She had had enough of Sumire doing it from time to time, but another girl—a stranger—peering at him was more than awkward.
"In any case, if it's not too much trouble I would like you to tell me if, have you seen a girl with purple hair, she has a white kimono and she is almost the same height as my eyes?"
-Who? Your girlfriend?
-No not at all. She answered immediately.
"Well, because he's wearing a kimono makes me think he's not from the city." She commented to herself the girl.
—I-You could say it's someone who is visiting —he had no choice but to have lied that last one, since he didn't want anything or anyone to find out much about what he is or who Sumire is—, so he left without saying nothing 'ttebasa.
He wasn't an expert at lying, much less on the spur of the moment, but judging from the neutral expression on the girl's face, he could tell she was earning his credibility.
—Now that I remember, I saw a girl with those characteristics, although I wouldn't know if it was the same one you're talking about...
"Where did you see her?!" He lunged at the girl, grabbing her shoulders.
Reflecting the surprise she had taken, she pushed him roughly to the point of having hit him in the stomach, all this while keeping her distance with a blush on her face.
"Don't come near me like that!" I'm going to call the police! He yelled at the Uzumaki.
—I-I'm sorry about that… I didn't mean to scare you 'ttebasa.
—…
Now Boruto was really worried. His mind told her that he had ruined her by doing such a thing.
Why was he never good at dealing with girls?
To be honest with himself, there was no experience that he could count on to engage in a friendly conversation with a girl, not to mention Sumire, who was only acting like a child.
In the worst case scenario in this situation she was in, it is possible that this girl would call the police. Everything would be much more complicated than it already is if that were to happen. She didn't want to waste much more time, so her best idea of what to take would be to run away and continue searching for her.
Just before turning around, the girl was pointing in the direction of the southeast, of course without removing that blush on her face from her face.
I saw a girl like that there. I can't guarantee that she is the same as I said, but at least you can go check. She said keeping her distance.
Boruto's face lit up with joy little by little as he smiled at the girl with a small bow towards her.
"T-Thank you very much!" I-I'm sorry about earlier, really!
"Yeah, it doesn't matter...
-Yes, thank you very much! He turned and walked past the girl to go down the path next to the entire bridge that was connected.
-Hears! What are you going to do with my clothes that got wet?!
Once the angry girl raised her voice it was already too late, because the redhead had left without even hearing her, he was so focused on the direction of where he should go that, he had no intention of losing all his concentration, he hurried.
After running two hundred meters down
the crowded street, he stopped and stood for a moment.
-Now then…
Boruto lifted his short bangs with his hand and then with an exaggerated movement he looked from here to there. Then he put her hand on a nearby wall and leaned against her.
"Where do I need to go if I want to find her?"
Looking around. It wasn't a phrase that inspired confidence about her actions, but she wasn't going to sit back and wait. However at this time Boruto felt as if it had been a few minutes, but at the same time it could have easily been another hour.
Boruto raised both little fingers of his hands in front of his face, twisting them around as if they were some kind of search rod. He was lucky that there were no people present, because it had been a little weird if they looked at him with a strange face.
As he continued to search, he became aware of a certain feeling similar to when he had found Sumire. He looked at the alley where he was next to him, he couldn't see very well but he went into it without thinking twice, although his instincts told him to be careful in case someone came to rob him, but that didn't worry him. , but they may have a weapon.
"If my mother knew about all this, I'm sure she would be very shocked and maybe give her something...
He looked at the path he was walking carefully. She refrained from keeping pace for a moment, since on second thought, she shouldn't have entered without knowing for sure that Sumire was passing by or that she was going to find something else.
Capable of everything, he meets another person in the same state in which he had found the violet-haired girl, but not even in his right mind would he like that now.
—Ah.
—¡Ah!
Another voice soon rang out and had clearly removed the dry tension from the alley. In the voice with a high pitch. Just hearing the voice was enough to be overwhelmed by its existence, and it perfectly matched the person who was making his life miserable.
Boruto raised his head. In front of him was a young woman.
What stood out about his appearance, more than anything else, was his striking violet hair, and even though they couldn't see him well because of how dark it was in that alley they could be dazzled. A star that shone even in the dark, that was what Boruto thought about it when he saw her there, impatient, surprised, shocked, confused, etc. So many ways to express himself, but at the end of it all she didn't expect to see him there.
Like her, Boruto was the same. She had no idea how to react now that he was right in front of her. Should he be happy? Would he choose to be upset that she had left without warning? Would he be sad to see her there alone? Collapse on top of her for the pleasure of seeing her well?
So many things to feel, but with time measured now, and more so when they were in a dark and dangerous alley.
"Why are you here Boruto-kun?"
Even the question had offended the Uzumaki, as if his presence was not necessary, which only made him annoyed more.
"That's what I was going to ask you." She looked at him with a frown. Where have you been all this time? Why are you here?
—…
"Do you have any idea how worried I was all this time?" He made her question rudely.
—…
He didn't say anything.
Sumire had fallen silent as soon as Boruto was in front of her with a look that looked for answers. He couldn't know since he wasn't in front of a mirror, but now there was only a face completely outside his usual expressions. An expression full of concern as if it were a father.
He waited for some response from her, he doesn't care what it is, he just wanted her to respond without problems, to know her intentions that led her to do all this.
"J-Just...Night walk."
"Hey, I wasn't expecting that answer. She spoke to him without removing the frown.
"I'm sorry... it's just... I wanted to prove it."
-Sorry?
She walked past him towards some metal trash cans, which had been dropped by Boruto when he was surprised by her appearance. She rearranged them as they were and turned to face the Uzumaki.
"You said you wanted proof of what I told you yesterday," he replied with a slight smile on his face. He wanted you to believe me, that he hadn't been lying.
"But don't go that far just to make me believe you." Just know that you really want to remember what you lost.
He approached him while giving him a small blow on the head with open hands. She was already giving herself a good reprieve that she hadn't done something crazy before she arrived.
She didn't know if it was something she developed or if it was already a part of her before she lost her memories, but she was too fearless in her decisions. She seemed to him in a very "unique" way. Crazy, but unique, yes.
"How about we go now?" Then we can look at something else that you can do that you can remember something. Boruto said.
He looked at him with a smile as he passed her, however, before he continued on his way, Sumire had stopped him by holding him from behind by his uniform.
He was almost certain that if she'd pulled him a little further, apart from being stained by the girl's drink from earlier, he'd also be ripped.
-What's going on?
He hastened to answer his call, since he wanted everything except to have his uniform torn.
-I remember.
—¿Eh?
"I was able to remember. Sumire confessed with a little more voice in her tone.
For a second he thought he had deja vu upon hearing Sumire pronounce these same words that she said yesterday.
No, he had definitely said them again with the same emotion. However, her impressions were not the same for him.
He had already solved the problem of having found her, and started just to try to prove that everything he had told her was true. Who wouldn't try to prove her sanity? She didn't blame her, since in her situation it would be the most understandable when you have only one person to take care of you.
He looked at her and in that same thing as before was what was reflected in his gaze; confidence. She really wanted to let him know that she wasn't wandering around the streets aimlessly—partly if she was—taking many forms so that she could recover some of the memories of her that she had lost of her so that she would no longer be. amnesiac
Boruto would lend him all possible help, both physical and psychological. He had already mentalized that. He really didn't want to treat her like a freak, but she didn't make the effort for him to.
Now after looking for her everywhere, he had found her, however, when he decided to go to her apartment, she kept him longer just to say that she had "remembered" him. Neither he nor he knew what he was referring to.
Did you remember his name? Where does she live? The school you attend? If she was involved in something dangerous?
"What do you remember?" she asked.
-I remember. Sumire said.
-Yes, I know! But what exactly do you remember? Boruto looked at her with a frown.
The situation could be very similar to how it was in her room, but now the difference is that Sumire was not doubtful or nervous, but rather with a more relaxed and slightly happy look, which was reflected in a small smile.
If he really had those spirits, he was sure that she had remembered something very useful to know her identity that until now remained a mystery, and if the information she recovered was very good, it is possible to be closer to knowing what happened to her.
—Proof that Ninshū and the use of chakra is real. What I said before is true.
—Again with the same… —he spoke to himself while he put a hand on his face.
A part of him knew that the thing that could have been remembered the most would be that specific topic. He had no problem with him remembering something like that, but it was still uncomfortable when it came to things that had nothing to do with the science studied in the world.
Sumire was only looking for fantasy and everything related to that.
—Seriously, this time I have proof that I am telling the truth, Boruto-kun. Sumire declared with a pout.
-Well well. I'll let you prove me right.
If that would make her happy and try to get her to continue to take this whole thing of being able to get her memories back seriously, then he had no problem with her proving something of what she believed. Boruto thought so looking at how grateful Sumire was for his decision to give it a chance.
— «Ultimately she is like a girl.»
He watched her walk away from him, looking around as if searching for something specific. She didn't seem satisfied with what was in that alley.
Boruto watched the girl grab what looked like an empty can of mackerel, carrying it to the pile of cardboard boxes on the other side. She placed him on top of these and moved away to get some distance.
He had no idea what she intended to do next, but he looked a little uneasy as a bead of sweat escaped down his face. However, her face was showing a neutral expression and it would be while she saw something that she was taking him by surprise.
Before his eyes he saw how Sumire began to elegantly raise her hands, to later see how one of the puddles of water rose into the air, reaching the height of the girl's hand without touching it.
He had seen with his eyes a slight manipulation of the water. She with all the calm in the world looked in front of where the can was and by herself she made the same puddle turn into an orb made of water. A single vast second for her to shoot that ball of water at the can until it fell back to the ground.
A spectacle that I did not expect to see in the middle of the alley in the dark.
-How about? Sumire asked.
She had returned to her usual self as before, where in her eyes she was looking for nothing more than the boy's verdict.
—W-Well… that you can do that was a surprise to me 'ttebasa. Boruto confessed in amazement.
Boruto admitted his amazement at what Sumire's ability was becoming.
—So you already believe me that the Ninshū is real and that I can use the chakra? She smiled hopefully.
—No.
-What? Her smile vanished like a feather. Why not?!
He admitted that he did not expect her to be able to do such water control, but it was not something that would show him whether or not what she said was true. She just made him rethink that Sumire possibly comes from a school though.
What she did was not from another world, there are already many people who could use norikinesis . He was just impressed that she was one of those people. It was still a scientific explanation that anyone could answer.
"I've already seen many use that ability," he confessed, looking in the direction where she fired. Here in Academy City there are many who use it, but they are not well developed.
He was sure that the closest his power level could be would be a level 3. Those of that level come to have good ability to shape water, as well as have good handling.
—But mine is different, what I'm using is chakra, not science.
—I'm sorry, but no matter how much you tell me that what you say about your fantasies is real, I can't believe you 'ttebasa.
This time Boruto was going to be direct. He could no longer deal with the stress that she was causing him, especially when she left the apartment without warning and very late.
She couldn't forgive herself if something happened to her. Because of that, he wouldn't mind giving her a huge lecture against her imagination or whatever it was that had developed in her head because of her amnesia.
—Mira, Sumire-san.
"Please, Boruto-kun..." His gaze turned to pleas. I would like you to believe me. Seriously, I'm telling you, it's true.
"I can't believe much of what you say, since everything already exists and informed of what happens in reality," he stated firmly as he grabbed the girl's shoulders to make her pay attention. So, don't ever go out and stay at this hour again only to discover that you can control the water.
Those words of Boruto, had given a result contrary to what he wanted to achieve. He watched as Sumire didn't seem much affected by what he said, but rather, he showed a shocked expression.
It didn't take long for the smile to appear on her and she only took her hands off his shoulders. She turned to the dark alley, looking around the place; so dark wet and full of discomfort at night.
“I still have one last thing to show you besides my skill. Sumire said.
Soon he had gone deeper into the alley. Boruto couldn't stop her in time, so he just followed her through that place in the dark.
He was no longer in the mood for her to keep nagging him, so he would do whatever it took to drag her out of there and go quietly to the apartment.
Sumire ran much faster, still in her white kimono, but she was dragging him behind what was happening in the alley.
It didn't take long when she screeched to a halt just beyond the darkest part of the alley. Boruto opted for this moment to take her by the hand and lead her back.
“Sumire-san, enough already. Let's just go.
"Wait, Boruto-kun." She turned to look at him and then released herself from the boy's grasp. Here is the second test, in which I tell you I have told the truth.
Again, Boruto was going to reply with the same thing, but she acted much earlier. She used her water ability and re-created a sphere of water in her palm to throw. This time she did it against the nearby aluminum trash can.
Nothing really happened, which meant everything was the same. However, when before Boruto took Sumire's hand again, he saw something that he did not expect to see in life.
Close to where the young purple-haired girl had thrown her ball of water, a kind of body was emerging from the ground, as if it were a zombie, but without being in a cemetery. Boruto had no words to say seeing that thing coming out of the ground.
As soon as he came out completely, he stood up like a normal person, his body was like a human, but he didn't look like or was one either. His skin was completely pale as snow, not to mention that it was also very wrinkled. Still, he too wondered if he was a human. Not just because of the skin anymore, but also because he had hair, and one that was green.
"W-what the heck is that?" Boruto blurted out nervously.
—The threats that I told you were after the Ninshū… although I was also partly wrong about that.
"W-Wrong?!" she asked much more panicked.
However, Sumire couldn't answer the Uzumaki's question in time, as the thing in front of her only grunted at the sight of them.
He charged straight at them with bare hands and nothing that could be considered a weapon.
Sumire stepped forward, as if she wanted to protect the Uzumaki from the attack of the thing that was against them. Fortunately, being only a couple of meters away from him, with her free hand —she used the other to push Boruto back—, she had generated another ball of water until she shot him in the head, making a hole in it.
Boruto fell on his back, with his butt as a shock absorber. He was completely stunned at what he had just seen; Sumire shot a semi-wet white creature in the head.
The young woman did not take long to turn around to see the blond-haired man, very stunned at what he ended up witnessing. She carefully approached the boy and offered her hand so she could help him up. He continued in silence, while Sumire gave him a smile.
"Now do you believe me?" Sumire asked.
๑๑๑
The walk back to the apartment had been extremely quiet, not to mention, it was also very uncomfortable. Especially the Uzumaki, since he had stayed on the sidelines at every turn. He did not stop being aware of any corner of the streets, specifically the alleys.
He kept being in shock, wondering what to believe or what to think. Everything he believed fell into the category of doubts in his mind. Uzumaki Boruto needed to rethink everything he was supposed to know about gifts, as well as… What mess had he gotten himself into with this Sumire girl?
Once they got to the apartment, the two of them didn't even bother to turn on the television or do anything else. As soon as they got to the room, they sat across from each other, where they were only separated by the low table.
This time it seemed, she seemed much better than before. She was no longer intimidated by Uzumaki's questioning gaze, nor was she nervous about the environment they were both in. Her gaze had changed, just a little.
"So… what was all that about?"
Boruto was the first to speak, asking the girl, who reacted. He inhaled and exhaled. He now showed a calm and serene face.
"I'll go step by step. I'll tell you everything I just remembered, what I know, but before that I want to clarify a few things Boruto-kun.
He did not answer her, more in his answer he was only nodding as total freedom for her to continue.
“First, I want you to know that I am going to tell you only the truth. I will not invent anything.
-Yes, I understand. This time he would heed his words and believe them.
After what happened, Boruto would take everything seriously, although he would also try to believe it. It was still very unreal to him.
"Second, I haven't fully recovered my memories," the girl added a little sadly. I have only been able to retrieve on this subject from what she saw now.
-I understand.
"And third," he paused briefly, "once I tell you what I'm going to tell you… You have the right not to get involved with me and all of this."
—…
Uzumaki remained silent, pondering what Sumire had said. Also, the very look on his face seemed to question the last thing he said, but he didn't joke about it.
She sighed. She was very nervous now. The safest thing is that, she was not very convinced now of whether she should tell or not, after having said the third clarification. His hands were shaking.
Luckily, she was calm again right away when she calmed down. She looked at him squarely now with her initial expression and continued.
“Okay, then… I'll start. -said
Boruto swallowed nervously, without taking his eyes off the violet-haired girl.
-What I told you before, was partly true, but some things were half wrong because of the very bad memory I had, but now I can say it as it should be. This time, I'll tell you what I remember, correctly.
"..." Boruto agreed, now in total silence.
—Leaving everything you know, chakra exists as such. As I already told you, it is like a spiritual energy that we all carry in our body. It moves by currents of chakra that cannot be detected, much less seen. They are not like veins, they are simply something that is totally invisible to the human eye.
“I understand… Does that mean you used that water skill with your chakra ? Boruto looked at her very into the subject.
“Yes, although, just like the gifts you say, only one skill can be used as well. Originally you could do a lot of things with chakra, but that was blocked so it wouldn't be so dangerous to use it," she commented as she looked at her hand thoughtfully. I don't know the details, but I can only use the water to support me in everything.
He made his ball of water, which was floating in the palm of his hand, while he moved it from side to side until it disappeared.
—In short, if the chakra runs out in our body, it's death for everyone. I already said it, it's like our spiritual energy. The only way to fully spend it is to overspend our chakra , using our abilities. Although, I'm surprised that no one in this city could be in danger by using their gifts too much.
"Yes, only people get tired when they use it a lot, but that depends on their own gifts," Boruto spoke calmly. An example, a person who has superhuman strength using it too often will cause his muscles to wear out too much. Another is also how when a person uses some kind of psychic gift with electromagnetic waves. His brain would go overheated and stop transmitting such waves even to the 'ttebasa heart.
“I see, that sounds risky.
—Yes, but from what you say with that chakra, it doesn't seem to differ much from the bad thing about using a gift a lot. Boruto sighed.
—Yes, but the difference with the chakra is that you end up dying, leaving your whole body without any function. Of course, you will feel a very heavy exhaustion, in which your body will hardly respond.
"That must be very hard." —Said the Uzumaki with a shiver running down his spine.
I don't know how I imagined such a feeling that Sumire was talking about, but from the way she described it, I guessed that it must be very overwhelming that feeling.
—But in addition to that way, there is also its extraction. she continued.
-Extraction?
"That thing you saw just now," he added as he squeezed his hands. What you saw, was one of the threats she told you about earlier.
"I-I think you should first tell me what exactly that thing is." suggested the nervous blond.
Shortly after, he looked out of the corner of his eye at the window. She wondered if there might be such a thing in the window, listening. His delusions were going to affect him a lot.
—What you saw in the alley… is something that is known as a Zetsu . That is what it is.
"A Zetsu?" she repeated.
"I don't know if it's because of my amnesia, but I have no idea where they come from," he apologized with a sad look at the boy. But what I can say is how dangerous they are and that their only objective is nothing more than to devour chakra. Wherever there is, they will go to absorb it. They would drain all the chakra from your body until there was nothing left.
The chill on Uzumaki's spine didn't go away, but rather, it grew much more intense. His fear of the unknown that these things were prevented him from processing things very well, but he understood them, even if they sound very fanciful.
—When I learned of my ability, I had inadvertently expelled a lot of chakra from my body to make a large ball of water through the alley. The next thing I saw was that Zetsu appearing from the ground, but I managed to shoo him away. That was when you showed up twelve minutes later, Boruto-kun.
"I see... And that thing... Zetsu... Is he just looking for chakra?" Boruto asked.
—That's right, but aside from that, it's also because they're attracted to Ninshū.
"Oh yeah...you mentioned that too, didn't you?" As I understood it is like chakra.
"Yes and no," Sumire interrupted looking at her hand again, and then turned her gaze to Uzumaki. Ninshū is more than that. It's what connects everything and everyone in the world… Unfortunately I don't know much about it, maybe because of my amnesia or because I don't know much.
—…
"But what I do know is that the Ninshū is everything, it unites us in some way," he added. Everything around us works like this, and it is what the chakra in our body also works.
It was too much information for him to process. Boruto wasn't too convinced with everything he heard, but he knew very well that she wasn't lying. Even so, he did not avoid going through his head that, possibly, she is out of her mind.
It was very difficult to explain himself. He couldn't believe it, but he believed it too. After what happened an hour ago in that alley, after that "Zetsu" they found, what this girl had talked about.
Everything was already too strange. This entire city was already strange, even the world knowing of the existence of such things.
—Possibly the Zetsus plan to drain the chakra in order to see the Ninshū through their eyes. That will take them where they want to go. Sumire continued.
"And where do you want to go?" Boruto asked with a lot of intrigue to the nerves.
"That… well… I…" sweat began to pour down her face, while she pressed her head with one hand, forcing herself to get what she wants to say. S-Sorry, I can't say… I don't know where they want to go. Part of my memories are still blank...
He looked at her carefully. She looked frustrated and powerless. Not like before in his first two days of meeting her.
Previously, he made an effort to want to remember the missing memories, but this time, he wasn't just trying, he was trying too hard to remember. She fought against her amnesia, forcing herself to bring out what she had forgotten, but it was useless.
I wanted to comfort her, but I couldn't. He was just a mere unknown boy in her eyes, in which he clung to in order to be safe from everything he did not know, that was the city itself.
Luckily, the girl had resigned herself to keep forcing herself to remember, which was the best for her. Boruto was relieved by that. He didn't think doing that would be in the best interest of her and her condition. In the worst case, Sumire would not be able to remember anything else.
"Well... I think that would be the most important thing to tell you," Sumire sighed as she brought her trembling hand to her head. I'm so sorry that it's not something that can help me really tell you who I am or why I was here that night on the other side of the building, hurt.
“Don't worry… It can't be helped. That's how amnesia works.” He smiled reassuringly at her. Then you will be able to recover the memory over time 'ttebasa.
"Yeah, I guess you're right.
They both smiled at each other, making the atmosphere of the room much lighter, and less oppressive with the girl's frustration.
Boruto was still keeping his distance from the girl, in the emotional space she was going through. In a way, that same image in which she showed herself brought her nostalgia when she was little with her childhood friend.
He and another had let her have all the time in the world to ease her heart over the loss. She wasn't at the same level as the girl in front of her, but it was a similar feeling.
He must have acted as he did back then with his old friend, in this very situation.
"Boruto-kun... Now that I've told you everything I remember, you have the right not to take care of me anymore." Sumi confessed.
—…
"I mean, I know very well that I've caused you some problems since you found me, but I think it's better for your good than…" He paused for a while and looked carefully at the redhead. You better stay as far away from this as possible. If I was hurt when you found me, it's possible that some Zetsu did it to me, so it's possible that I was taking them out, and maybe I was careless.
That explanation made sense to Boruto, since if it was one of those things who was guilty of having cut her.
How long has she been facing those things? How many were out there?
He didn't know the answer, but what he was sure of was that this girl, Sumire, was someone who had been strong.
"So, I better go and take care of this." I still have to find out where I come from and if I'm eliminating the Zetsus for something, she added heavily. I should know, so you don't have to worry about me. You can carry on as you have always been.
He stands up from the ground and looks straight at him while bowing towards Boruto. There was a certain air of elegance, as if she knew a lot about the proper manners of Japan. She was still wearing her long white kimono, which made her beautiful violet hair stand out a lot. She again she showed an aspect to that of a princess.
"Thank you so much for taking care of me these days. She—she raised her head and smiled at him, pleased if sad. I'm sorry for the problems I caused, so I hope you can fix them soon.
He looked at her in a trance, looking at her from head to toe, and from the latter her face was totally full of insecurity, but also some doubt. Still, he felt like she had a strong sense of duty, even though she didn't remember much of her memory.
She had reconfirmed how brave and determined she can be.
—It was a pleasure, Boruto-kun.
Then, he headed towards the exit of the apartment.
There was nothing but the sound of his footsteps pausing towards the entrance, but before he even reached the door, he heard the Uzumaki speak to him.
"Then let me help you."
-Hey? She turned sharply to where the boy was.
She watched as the boy was still sitting in the same place, looking at her and immediately went on to turn on the television.
"Mmh… maybe I need a little more supplies now that there will be someone else living here…" he spoke to himself between a sigh. I need to find a good excuse to ask My mother for more money.
"W-Wait, Boruto-kun." Sumire turned towards the room. How are you going to help me? What are you talking about?
—It is as I said; I'll help you look for those things that can still be around 'ttebasa.
"Don't you know how dangerous the Zetsus are?" —It was the first time that she heard her very agitated and that she will raise her voice.
He couldn't believe the incredible exchange of glances she had. That filled her soul a little. There was progress in this girl, and he would see to it that he continued to make progress.
"I have no idea," he replied with a smile as he stood up. That is why you will help me too 'ttebasa.
-Help me?
"I don't think I'll be of much help, since I don't have a Gift," he spoke nonchalantly with a smile, "but I suppose there must be something I can help with."
"No, Boruto-kun. You've been so good to me, having my head in chaos not remembering anything,” she startled as she pointed to her own. I don't want you to get involved in something dangerous.
"I'll decide that." Boruto said.
To tell the truth, he wouldn't want to be in something dangerous, or be involved in something that was dangerous.
"Aren't you afraid?" “She followed him against her decision.
“Of course I am. Too.
Remembering what that Zetsu looked like gives him a horrible chill, one that makes him think that being home is the best thing in the world.
—So…
"But…" he looked at her with a grin from ear to ear, "as long as you're with me, I don't think there's anything to fear."
—…
—Oh! S-Sorry, I'm supposed to be the man here, but now he sounded like a person who would hide behind you.
The girl's face showed no expression. She went on to form a wicked curve to her lips at the helplessness of not being able to back down on the Uzumaki's decision.
On the one hand she was happy, but on the other, it was not something she would like, since he had saved her from dying in a dark place. He's a guy who shouldn't get into stuff like this.
His hand trembled with nerves, and now the only thing he could think of was to lift it to take it in the direction of the boy. If possible, she would throw a ball of water at him until he is unconscious. So later he would never find her. She would get out of there fast.
However, she couldn't do it, not after having the boy already in front of her with both hands on her hips to show confidence and full of determination in his words. He just smiled at her and said:
—Sumire-san, I decided to help you when I found you in the alley, in the end I decided to take care of you so that you would recover from your amnesia. Letting you go alone after all that won't make me feel good, I don't even think I could live with it.
"B-But...
"I've made my decision," the boy sighed, as he used his butt to put it on his chest. You can count on me, so I will never leave you alone. I'm going to protect you, even if I have nothing but my fists. I, Uzumaki Boruto, will never go back on my words, because this is the path I chose.
—…
—…
Sumire's penetrating and silent gaze brought him back to reality, due to the silence it had generated. He had turned a little red, deciding to turn around to hide her embarrassment.
—I-I'm sorry, it's something my father always said, and I thought this was the right time to say it 'ttebasa.
—Y-Ya… don't worry… —he decided to turn a blind eye to that little moment.
Although, he agreed that it might be embarrassing for him, he had also found that boy's stumble a bit endearing. He showed in a certain way a childish attitude, something strange.
That action had not been in vain, he contemplated that fact when he saw the face of the young violet-haired girl. He had started to smile, even laugh, but he hid it using the wrist of her kimono.
Now he was proud of what he did. He had managed to better soften the environment they were in. It didn't take long for Sumire to calm down as she wiped a little of the tears from her eyes from laughing.
—Haha… You are very strange Uzumaki Boruto. Too weird to go for the danger,” she commented with a smile, but she sighed wearily. Since I saw that your face was that of someone who didn't like getting into trouble, I thought you wouldn't have a problem with me leaving so you can have peace.
"Honestly, I have complained a lot about how heavy it has been, you know, having to deal with your amnesia, but that doesn't mean that I have to help you." Sumire noticed how the boy's smile faded a little. My father would do the same...
—¿ Boruto-kun?
"But that doesn't matter, so" he held out his hand to the girl, "you can count on me for whatever you need." You have my support.
The words were very influential, and without a second thought, Sumire took the boy's hand until there was a mutual squeeze between the two. They smiled confidently at each other as they finalized their agreement.
"I'll be in your care, Boruto-kun." She looked carefully into his eyes. Convince me I didn't make the right choice.
—I'm sure not.
It was already too late to back down. They both knew it very well. It was even inevitable that there would be doubts right now, but they had to trust each other to cope with whatever might come.
He wanted it, he had to do it. She was in trouble. This time, Uzumaki Boruto will try to do his best to help someone with everything he can. He will help where he can to rid the city of those things.

Will continue…
A/N: This chapter has been the first longest one I did of this arc. They were originally going to be two separate chapters. The part where he searches for Sumire would be one and from where she finds her to the whole explanation of the Ninshū would be another chapter. However, I decided to give a little more, since I did not want to be too long this first bow, since that is not my goal.
As a curiosity, in these chapters that passed there were at least two sentences that are key that will take into account the consequences of Boruto in the future. Although well, that will be for another time.
I won't say much here, since for now it's just a small explanation of how long this chapter felt. Also mention that, from this chapter, the arc will move a little more, going through the real problem.
We read until next time!
Yours!

—Damn… I can't take it anymore. —Among some of the boys from the academy, he commented.
—You don't even say it, it's obvious that this is a torture of Tsunade-sensei. Inojin spoke breathlessly.
"W-Well, it's to be expected... Do you think a teacher like her would overlook what they did in the classroom?"
"W-Well... I guess it's normal for students to have arguments, right?"
"No, not at all," Shikadai had intervened between his friend and another of his companions. It might be in a normal school, but here...
In a school belonging to the Academy City, it was not something that could be passable for students to have a dispute, without the consent of the teachers.
However, that never happened in this school, being one of the most undervalued for being one that has the lowest levels 1 —in addition to some who have not had their awakening—, that is why they were not very well guarded. However, only Senju Tsunade was the only one who took her job seriously, training everyone to be more obedient, but everything remains the same.
The punishment for starting a fight over which of the top idols in the city was the best took place outdoors, where everyone was forced to run tirelessly until they completed 30 laps.
Even though the main reason for the fight between the boys in the room was something very stupid, Shikadai couldn't help his friend being too direct about none of the idols the boys mentioned being really good.
"It was Boruto's fault for saying something like that," the Yamanaka clarified towards his friend who was sitting next to him. He never stops making things worse.
—You can take it out on him later, don't worry, Inojin. Shikadai sighed.
Something that caught the boy's attention was in the person in question that the two were talking about, as well as some who were behind. But specifically the two best friends of the redhead were the most attentive in front of him.
They looked at the field where they had run minutes before, where they had finished dead tired, and they hadn't even finished 30 laps yet. They were sure that the punishment for not finishing them would be something much worse, from their sensei.
What caught the attention of the two boys was that there were still a few people on that dance floor, and one of them was still Uzumaki. He had come up with lap number 21. He had passed them both, who only made it to lap 18.
“He has acted very differently. —Inojin just blurted out without taking his eyes off the front.
"Did you notice too?" The other asked when he looked at his blond-haired friend. I feel very motivated these days.
"Well, anyone could be after that hell of a trip to the hospital wing you had on Monday."
"I don't think it was just that," the Nara said, without taking his eyes off the boy. I see him very committed to getting him to wake up ... What will have happened to him these days?
He had a lot of questions, but he wasn't going to ask Boruto either. He didn't want to make him say things about his private life, but he didn't avoid how much it made him curious that it drove the Uzumaki to try harder.
“For some reason, now I want to keep running. Inojin started to get up from the ground as he dusted off his shorts.
"I didn't expect that from you." Shikadai frowned at him. Don't you want to lose against Boruto?
"Of course not," he replied without taking his eyes off the one who motivated him. I don't want to be left behind. Also, when it's the festival, I don't want to look ridiculous when my parents come to see me.
-Tell me. I'm sure my mother is the one who will be angry with me.” Shikadai felt a chill run down his spine. She more than support me, she will tell me that I am weak from afar… I can already hear her.
The spirits he had crashed on his shoulders with force. Of course, Inojin looked at him sideways with pity, remembering that her mother would be the same if she didn't get to her awakening to have her gift at once.
She squashed her cheeks to cheer herself up much better, and like that, she headed back to where Boruto was still running.
"W-wait, Inojin." I'm going too. —After that gloomy and embarrassing situation, the jet ran after his friend.
Boruto watched them approach, so they were most likely ready to resume their run, but even so, it had seemed very strange to him that they had recovered. He just hopes it's not too much for them.
She knew how frustrating her teacher's workouts and drills are, but now she wouldn't complain. She would take this opportunity to improve her physique, also any thing or method to improve.
He wanted to help Sumire, so he chose to take these exercises for what they are; some exercises to improve her condition and if she was lucky, lucky for her life, she would wake up. That way she was going to be able to use her gift and not be a burden to the violet haired girl.
Again his motivation gave him much more energy to run and he continued on to the next lap.
"Hey, Boruto is going faster. Shikadai was startled.
-Hears! Inojin exclaimed. Where are you getting that energy from?
The two followed him as far as they could, but unfortunately in all the rest of what was, they only managed to add three more laps at the end.
๑๑๑
The afternoon fell with a shot. Anyone who was an average, regular student would be a breather. However, that benefit was for Uzumaki Boruto. It was just the hard parts of his days. Of course, he removing all the physical exercises that his teacher gave him, as well as all the ones in his classroom.
In the middle of his path, he looked around, seeing other students with a variety of uniforms. Obviously they were passing by, on his way out, after their long day at their respective schools. Some he recognized; since some were belonging to some schools that only nive students attended for their respective gifts. Others where they only went from level 3, to even 4.
However, he rarely finds one from Harunoki Academy. He wasn't surprised, since they had their own bedrooms here, and good class. If he had to rank them, it would be the rich and noble students, but of course, that was because they had an excellent average of 95 to 100 there. And more importantly, they had people where the majority were level 4 and 5.
I wish I was in those elegant bedrooms, or that's what they say they are inside.
Still, those dreamy thoughts had been vanished by the feeling of exhaustion that Boruto's entire body generated. He couldn't take it, until he saw a mini store nearby, across the street.
-"I want ice cream." That was the only thing going through his head.
He would only deviate a little to buy that ice cream that he expected to be inside his mouth until it melted. He didn't even take 15 minutes in there, and he came out on top having a blackberry popsicle.
He went back on his way to his apartment building, which didn't last long thanks to taking the nearest bus.
Upon arrival, he went up the elevator and went to his respective floor, carefully looking at some of the places where he stepped. The morning of this day she had stumbled because of the poor state of the floor. She just hoped it would be fixed soon, because she fell on her face and it hurt, although it's also his fault for leaving his apartment in a hurry not to be late.
You would remember to fix your alarm clock when you get a chance.
Arriving in front of her door, she was using her room keys, which she continued to turn them around and go inside, taking a deep breath for now.
He entered dryly, letting himself be carried away by the comfort of his "sanctuary", where he let all the weight called "fatigue" in his body flow like a virus. She sighed at how upset her legs felt.
"Oh, welcome Boruto-kun.
A sweet voice filled the atmosphere of her apartment. Uzumaki looked in that direction where that female voice came from, looking at the violet-haired girl sitting in the room, while she watched television.
She was having some tea. She had interrupted that activity to have her attention to the boy, who remained very speechless at what she saw with furrowed jealousy.
" It's strange that a girl is welcoming me" Boruto thought as he pondered. Every man's dream is in front of my eyes 'ttebasa.
-What are you talking about? Sumire asked.
"I-It's nothing, just my stuff 'ttebasa."
Despite the days in which she has been living in the same apartment, Boruto still couldn't get used to this strange change. However, he did not find it bothersome, since she seemed more than delighted, since he felt very bad about not getting a place to sleep, since she was not as such a student in this city, not for the moment that she know.
On top of that, his clothes had adapted to that of a normal person. All of her white kimono was replaced by a set of casual clothes; she preferred something that is very comfortable. Although to his stumble, she had chosen something unfeminine and something a bit boyish.
A normal shirt, but nothing out of this world, some shorts, etc. He couldn't help but feel really bad about this choice, he wasn't at all knowledgeable about the mode, since most of the time he only wore his summer uniform, but nothing else, apart from the fact that he didn't know what girls his age wore today. in day.
In the end she only bought a maximum of two outfits for herself as she didn't have that much money to come by. He again had to ask her mother for her money, that was not something he was proud of, but he needed help so that Sumire could feel comfortable.
At least, Sumire seemed to be convinced by the clothes. That was enough for the Uzumaki, but the bad part of her was her when she had to buy him underwear from her, although much of it was the same store workers who helped her choose.
He just hoped he wouldn't live through something like that again in the future.
"By the way, I think today we should go through sector 3 of the city." The girl spoke with a serious look. If we're lucky, we might find something.
—I see, then let him rest a bit and let's go there.
She seemed more than in agreement with Boruto's decision, so she just finished her tea a little faster. As she did so, the boy was already beginning his "rest" process in his bed.
He was thankful that his teacher hadn't given him homework for tomorrow, because everything would be much more troublesome.
—Today is Thursday and we have only found a few Zetsus. The violet-haired girl said as she looked at her cup of tea.
"Only 7 in total," Boruto answered, looking up at the ceiling. About 3 in sector 4 and about 4 in sector 5.
"They are so few," Sumire said. I worry that there will be many more if we don't hurry.
Immediately they both stopped talking and just kept thinking. She quickly finished her tea and turned off the television.
-We will.
-Yes. The Uzumaki agreed.
The cravings had already set in, so they decided not to wait any longer. The two need to move things forward or it could be worse.
๑๑๑
After they had agreed to go out, they had taken the subway to quickly go to sector 3 of the city.
Boruto had explained to Sumire that the academic city is divided by a total of 7 sectors, so they decided to go in each one to check.
Ever since that night when they decided to cooperate to eliminate the Zetsus that were in Academy City, Sumire had not only blurted out what she knew about them before, but had also neglected to mention that the reason they had, was because they were being hatched somewhere.
She had discovered this from the one she had seen for the first time, since she said that this one was a little more developed than it should be, so it must have been in a place for a long time developing.
The two have been in just two days looking for where the Zetsus "incubated" to go out more. The longer they took, the more chakra they were likely to get and the harder it would be for her to beat them.
Upon reaching sector 3, they tried to go through the streets that people did not get to pass. They went down the alleys more, but when there were at least a few unpleasant people in those places, they wouldn't go that way.
He didn't want to cause trouble, let alone get into it. He saw it badly for Sumire; if it wasn't the Zetsus, there are also the weeds of this city.
"H-here, Boruto-kun…" he snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the girl's arm holding him back.
"Did you find one?" she asked.
-I think so. I feel some small, but also noticeable chakra,” she replied without even looking away from a certain direction.
His gaze went down the narrow, dark path down the alley they had left.
They were not in sight of anyone. If they were to meet a Zetsu there would be no problem with making some noise.
Even with all that in mind, Sumire always suggested doing her best not to draw too much attention, which is why she used most of her water ability.
"Boruto-kun, I hope you brought something much better," Sumire warned. Will you never try to use something impractical again?
—Of course not, that's why I brought this bat I bought yesterday. The Uzumaki said.
The first time they had hunted with a Zetsu, Boruto had used a tennis racket as a weapon, although he had found that in an alley dumpster. Most of that time Sumire had to cover for him, which made it that much more difficult for her.
On the other hand, Sumire found out these days that Boruto had good stamina, but he was useless against the Zetsus with his normal human strength, so she suggested something much tougher.
"Only if I've forgotten you." She looked at him worriedly. Zetsus have very tough skin. It is impossible to kill them with physical force. That's why I use my chakra to create water, which completely damages his skin.
“Er… S-Sumire-san… You know what, you already told me that two days ago, right?
“Hehe… Well, I guess I'm already starting to notice your inexperience. She said with a smile.
One of the things that Boruto regrets the most is that he has shown his mistakes in front of her, or sometimes his stupidity. She had already left a bad thought about him in her mind.
"Anyway... the only way to defeat them is to use the chakra, which you have," he looked at her from his side, "and also to give them their weak points at an exact point, or something like that, right?"
"I see if you're paying attention." Pleased by the boy's attention, she continued. And you're right, but doing it is difficult, since you don't know where her chakra is as her core. That's why she always chooses to finish them off using chakra in one hit.
"Everything would be easier if I could do something she does." She — she felt herself very useless, looking at her hand thoughtfully.
Sumire noticed that fall in his face. She didn't much like seeing him that way. She could understand it, no, she couldn't do it because she could do something that he longed for so much. She couldn't understand her frustration, but she had an idea.
He chose to stand in front of her and smile at her confidently.
—Boruto-kun, don't despair, even with just one bat you can help me, so just cover me. Sumire said.
"W-Well, I guess you're right.
"Of course, let's do our best." He held up his hands. I'll go take care of those who are within my reach at a distance.
"Yes, I may not be the best Tank , but at least being a good support we can get through it without problems," the Uzumaki commented between a sigh. I just hope there are no more than four 'ttebasa.
"S-Sure, let's hope so." She smiled a little sadly and awkwardly. "Tanks? Support? What's that?"
Boruto walked past her to be the first to pass through the narrow path that led him to one of the darkest parts of the site. Hopefully there wouldn't be more than two Zetsus.
He relied on what little he knew about self-defense, though fighting radish-looking guys was never on his list. Life can give you a surprise, like this situation he had gotten into when he met the girl behind him.
These are the nights when he could only think of one thing:
"I just hope they don't become dangerous prey, 'ttebasa." she murmured.
๑๑๑
The next 16 minutes passed, but they just felt like they were going in circles around the place. They didn't see any different or unusual activity in the area, and Sumire didn't feel a Zetsu either.
They walked again for a second time around the place, but there was nothing that was different, he supposed that maybe something was overlooked, but Boruto didn't think like that.
They took a short break as they sat down on one of the few benches nearby.
For the most part it felt very uncomfortable and unsettling that there weren't many people where they were. They were in a mini square, full of trees, but without any sign of any students, besides, there were lights from the headlights. Luckily, it wouldn't be so dark that way.
-You know? I came up with a hypothetical reason why we didn't find the one you detected. Boruto commented.
"What happened to you?"
"Remind me, why don't you use your chakra to get detected?" He asks looking at her next to her.
"I would, but if I do, it won't work like it did before," the girl replies with a thoughtful look. They also have a survival instinct. If they detect me, they'll be on alert. They will think about it to get closer.
"Hmm... What if you use that to our advantage?"
If it was wrong, Uzumaki had thought about it, but if everything she said was true and that, just like them, she too can detect them, then she can do everything the other way around.
"These days we always see them out in the open and not hiding, but if we want to find where they hide, why don't you track them down once you reveal your chakra?"
The girl's face lit up with astonishment as she looked at the boy, understanding his plan. To say that she was happy was little compared to what she thought about the Uzumaki's suggestion.
She relaxed a bit, as she began to make her chakra more "noticable", so that the Zetsus could detect her. He raised her to an inconspicuous level, but nothing, but she kept increasing her chakra. She went on and on, little by little.
He did, he had sensed the presence of one, looked in their direction and proceeded to jump off the bench.
He ran straight to where he was, but as soon as he was towards him, he immediately retreated. She felt him move quickly across the floor, under the concrete.
A chase towards that Zetsu had started, Boruto followed the girl's pace. Unfortunately for him, she couldn't keep up with him, where did she get that stamina or speed? I have no idea, but it was from there that he was making an effort now at school in the "practices" of his teacher.
Still, part of his body was still half tired from the laps he did at school. Still, he wiped away all traces of annoyance towards her body, focusing only on Sumire, without losing sight of her.
-Here! the girl yelled as she turned to the right.
He had entered one of the alleys again, passing through the garbage that was on the ground, and jumping on one of the metal garbage cans. Boruto passed by them.
By turning the other way again, this time to the left, he opted to increase his chakra. Luckily, he got what he wanted, as he spotted another Zetsu, but it was a little further ahead than he was running from her.
As soon as the second one disappeared, the other one who was still fleeing went in the direction where the second Zetsu had disappeared.
"Sumire-san!" —He heard the Uzumaki speak to him behind him, a few meters away.
Before she could hear what he was saying, she immediately realized what he was getting at. He looked ahead to where the Zetsu's presence was heading; to one of the accesses to the drain.
Upon reaching the plate, he stopped short, waiting for Boruto, who arrived right away, but was already very tired. I use the time they stopped to catch my breath.
“If we go this way, we might go where he went. the girl emphasized, looking at the entrance to the sewers.
"I-I… I imagined…" He heard Boruto without fully recovering his breath. However, I think it's not a good idea to go down without first taking one thing into account.
-And that is?
"Would you like to come in and go somewhere that stinks awful?" she asked.
Sumire had tensed, her face turning blue and disgusted. Her eyes spiraled, plus her lips tightened as she imagined the different horrible smells she might encounter down there.
Their legs trembled, as did their arms holding each other. All those effects were noticed by Boruto, feeling a little guilty for putting her that way.
"I-I guess…" he saw her turn around to look at him, "there's nothing wrong." L-What… matters… is taking care of…
—Look, if you want I can go down, and…
—No, you can't go down alone, it's very dangerous for someone weak. Sumire said.
"D-Did you call me weak?" “Now her heart is broken, as is her honor.
It didn't seem like the girl had heard Boruto's complaints and low self-esteem. She just focused still on her thoughts on whether to go in or not.
She kept thinking about it, but when she was coming to a small conclusion, she felt something new, it came from another direction, it was that of a Zetsu.
No, not just one, but another was coming. One after the other, but he didn't know exactly where they would come from; he looked left, right, or even looked up, but everything seemed to blend together. As if he was going through the ground quickly.
It went on like this, for at least 3 minutes, but as soon as it detected one passing under it, it also did so in two other directions.
More had appeared, and he hadn't even noticed before. They blended in to be able to appear fast.
From the ground they showed themselves, coming out of the arms, torso, head, even the feet, and they were ready to pounce on her and Boruto. His appearances were the same as always as these days, no difference at all. That took a breather, but he didn't let his guard down either.
It was right away that Boruto also noticed them when he saw them surrounding them. They were about 4 in total, but he did not worry them, especially the boy, but that did not mean that they were beings with whom he should underestimate.
" Did they come to fight us?" Boruto thought. "Tsk. In the end they decided to be the hunters."
