"...remind me again why I have a separate postbox office for the fanmail and why I'm 'too cutthroat' on discarding suspicious fanmail or gifts." Michiru has seen the Naoto Cult getting active again and she's just not taking any chances on it.
She'd always be ready to be Chihiro's bodyguard against the cultists. They were too suspicious to let run wild.

"I knew to assume stupidity like fancams, but why anime catgirls of all things?" Blush stickers were to be expected, even though she wasn't sure how that was feasible that made sense in the teenager fangirl mind.
Reminder to myself: don't check Twitter or any social medias.
@thedetectiveofinaba sez: "Don't even get me started on how those are… at times uncanny." Violet is trying to not sound too rude on how receiving a self-made clipboard on all media appearances she's had via fanmail did cause her to question the parasociality and idol status she's received.

“It’s time for your anime catgirl edit and blush stickers for your fancam, Viole(n)t.”

Chihiro truly is the Naoto that protects them all.
(Other Naotos are free to reblog this to provide yourself plenty of protection from the cult.)

Finally. She'd achieve a normal first meeting for once. She'd had so many bad ones it was a myth for her to have a possibility to get one what wasn't either embarrassing or show the worst side of her. The one where her first words were to yell a duplicate to get off the damn river was at the top three of worst encounters.
"It's not a big deal at all. You'd be right on that, by the way. I'm glad that I was able to run into you eventually since..."
Since a risk of me managing to fuck this up and have an impression that I don't care on having a connection to you is high. Obviously not saying that out loud, she lead with a more confident and calm outlook. Her still existing lack of confidence in communication skills wasn't the road to take.
"I didn't have a proper chance to talk with you earlier, so... I am glad to have gotten that chance. Name's Violet. What alias are you using on the Shirogane Duplicate System?"
@thedetectiveofinaba (Multiverse AU) liked for a starter.
Taking a stroll around Tokyo in search of something new to do was such a chore. It's all the same to her: go to a shop or Leblanc for coffee, go back to the office, sigh over having no new cases, and go out to hang out with Rise, Yu, and Yosuke if she ever came across them. Perhaps she should reconsider cooperating with the Tokyo PD and even Akechi Goro if he allowed it. From what she knew, he almost always worked with Niijima Sae, the country's most renowned prosecutor.
In any case, Nova marched on her way to Inokashira Park, since it was one of the calmest destinations around this time at night. Looking at the news on her phone, she nearly bumped into an almost familiar figure, and stopped in her tracks, blinking.
Tumblr media
"Apologies... I almost didn't see you. Since you share the same face as me, I assume you are... another Naoto Shirogane I am unaware of?" Straight to the chase, as always.

@chibitantei asked: “Chihiro is nice when you get to know her, she’s just... very repressed.” - kazoo to whatever multiverse naoto tickles your funny bone
Unprompted asks - always accepted!
(to your misfortune you get Michiru)
"You don't say. You did say that she was most emotionally repressed of the Shiroganes to appear so far." She took a sip from her soda and mulled over some thoughts. On one hand, she was tempted to try speaking to more people - call that the influence of her close circle telling her to not coop up at her office or only speak with two people. On the other hand, she wasn't sure if that risk was worth it.
Then again... she had taken a risk disguised as a work task and it had worked out well. Maybe luck was on her side in the end.
"That is a relief to hear from you since I've had an idea to expand my social circles more recently. I assume all of us have some lingering sense of social anxiety or wanting to protect ourselves, at least that is the impression I have gotten from everyone so far."

Text to: Kazuki I found a cat what I think is accurate to all Naotos I know. Idk on Nova but it seems to be a common factor that all are most likely coffeeholics and/or sleep deprivated

"I never assumed Kazuki to honestly try to outdo a bartender's job with a cocktail of coffee and vodka, and given the nonexistent background in bartending all of us have, it's likely to fail."
Violent isn't going to surpisingly interfere with this. It was her day off and wasn't going to ruin it with her doppelganger testing how well her liver can deal with an absurd drink.

jesterofinaba:
“That kinda sounds like the midnight channel thing we had around here a few years ago…” Adachi trails off, looking off into the distance, his detective’s intuition taking the wheel. Well, they had an idea of how it had come about, but that was after a lot of danger and mystery-solving and one instance of beating a goddess into the dirt. He hoped that this weird Naoto universe wasn’t quite like that.
At the acceptance, the father offers a smile, and makes a dismissive gesture when she mentions not wanting to be a nuisance.
“Listen, I know my kid pretty well, and if you’re friends with her, that means you’re a good person. Besides, I know her mischievous tendencies better than anyone, and something tells me you don’t tick like that.”
He turns and makes a motion for Michiru to follow him, so he can head back to the house and prepare dinner - now for three. If his Naoto knew her, he had a feeling she wouldn’t mind helping cook for another person.
Tumblr media
“So… is our universe any different? What makes you all different from each other?”
The midnight channel thing... could you be referring to something abnormal mortals had no idea to deal with? Michiru couldn’t remember on the spot if Tsukasa had mentioned that at all and reminded herself to ask about it later if a proper opportunity presented itself.
“I... thank you for your trust, Adachi-san. I’ll do my best to not let you down on that.” It was both a honor and a relief to not get bombarded with suspicion on the spot, especially when Michiru knew she’d still have to talk her way through this and seem like she was a mortal like others. Even though they all seemed to be able to possess a JoJo-like being it didn’t mean they weren’t humans at the core.
She wasn’t that naive to not take the hint to follow him to a different room for a more... convenient talk. She’d gladly sit in a chair to try hide her nervousness. As she was walking more slowly than Tsukasa’s father the question she received wasn’t that hard to answer. She just needed to know how brutally honest she could be.
“...it is vastly different from my Japan. As for the details, it’s - let me ask this first so you will not pass out on the bombshell. How severe paranormal phenomena have you faced in the scale of one to ten?” She was dead certain that if she blurted that demons and paranormal pests were as normal as small thefts she’d get weird glances.

"...uh, while I get his attempt it'd be a fool's errand. Narukami-san isn't a professional and you should never attend therapy if the person isn't licensed or too personally attached to you." Violet, literally nobody asked your input even though you've gone through therapy and have partially recovered from your paranoia and anxiety.
"In the ideal case, get one who doesn't know you at all and is at another city so you can literally leave them behind."

...Violet wasn’t too sure on if any Naoto she knew had any healthy eating habits. Kazuki’s claims sounded a little sound, but the overcompensation she had gave away that she might be lying to not give away the bad habit to overfocus in work, Chihiro’s lack of eating was more concerning than her own caffeine consumption and one of the more uncanny Naotos she had spoken with seemed to eat regularly but had a habit of sleeping way too often in her office instead of at her own apartment.
She also couldn’t deny that Tsukasa seemed to be better at this but if all of them were called Naoto Shirogane, they were predisposed to the curse of thinking “I can eat after this work file”.

@chibitantei replied to this post:
shhh. let the cult take their goddess, Almighty Holy One who Perceives the Truth, aka Chihiro
Tumblr media
"... how about no. Fuck you. I may not have known her for too long but human sacrifices or cults aren't a viable thing even if you're a Persona-user." Last time she'd heard of a group as sinister as this the results had been nasty.

She looked... amused for a moment. "You truly are Shirogane in how subtle emotions are hidden behind a resting bitch face and the most notable emotions are the easiest to get stuck to. At this point I believe that others are built different on this aspect." They weren't well versed in reading subtle reactions on face value, they were too intimidated by the most "professional" person of the group and seemed to assume she was unable to express other emotions than anger and sadness.
More like her emotional expressions were repressed and took their sweet time to appear. The team had been confused on seeing her smile genuinely to Rise during the meeting near Christmastime.
"I guess people assume you to actually have a range of visible expressions. It's really uncanny and something I refuse to try." Trandsparent showcase like Chie Satonaka was unnecessary and a bit of happiness she was showing was just enough. Not too much to give a wroing image, but not too less to be illegible.
Though, Violet was curious on something she had noticed. Kazuki had used one peculiar word and couldn't help but feel there was something the other didn't say out loud. "You said that you don't want the spotlight to shine on you too much. While I understand that from the perspective on avoiding media attention and needless attention, you're not also willing to cause trouble to others." Violet leaned to the extragavant foldable walking cane she had her and looked thoughtful on how she should say this without being too imposing.
Tumblr media
"Answer me this, Kazuki. Is it possible that a part of you wants to rely on others more but a part still keeps everyone at arm's length as a remains of how you used to act?"
Tumblr media
“How should I show any other emotion besides that?” Sadness inconvenienced others, fear wasn’t something she could allow herself to show as a detective, there was more to list but in short, that was about all she was willing to express. Nobody needed to know how she felt besides that. “Not that I want to know. It’s too... troublesome and causes the others to focus on me. I don’t particularly care for the spotlight to shine on me.”
She blinked. “...And this is why the others have a difficult time discerning how I really feel.”

@chibitantei asked: ‘  in a lot of ways this dog is the real hero of this story, it seems like.  ’
Buzzfeed Unsolved sentence starters / accepting for now
Tumblr media
“Is that so. Maybe due to him showing the other people on how you not stopping your attempts is the key to success? I have seen far too many souls stop living and trying to succeed only because they’re not making progress ‘quickly enough’ and fail faster in that sense.” Her comment was fired almost instantly when Tsukasa was done describing a story she had heard in her Japan.
It could be put to the pin of this being a sad animal story she couldn’t precisely relate as she had never owned any pet, but Michiru couldn’t help but see loyalty and dedication most humans in her Japan didn’t always showcase.
