Your “my god how out of touch am I” moment of the day is: I keep getting comments on this fic I’m writing that are like “worth waiting for the update”, “this was worth the wait” and I’m so confused because I have been posting chapters… every ten days at most? what wait, that’s a fast schedule, I thought! And the chapters are between 5k and 7k words each! Each! The fifth chapter is currently sitting pretty at 10 fucking k so I’ll probably have to split it in half…

But I’m dying over this I think it is wild lol. Do people not remember what it was like to have fics that updated every six months, if that, for nearly a decade? Is this something no one else remembers? Have we gotten so into instant gratification culture that waiting a week for 5 thousand words of fanfic is a long time?

This is all so wild to me so I guess I’ll go write another 5k about it lmfao

It’s fun to have one character be an enthusiastic history teacher. She’s great about dropping background lore and explanations that I want to get across somehow.

“Yes, Lakeview,” Jenrietta confirmed. “That dry sea was the lake.”

Moss cocked her head at the map in the most judgemental fashion. “Okay, I don’t claim to understand griffin naming trends, but I have questions. A sea is not a lake, and a dry seabed is also not a lake.”

Mindylise laughed. “You didn’t say it was that fallen city!” she said to Jenrietta. “My favorite by far. Moss, there was the most amazing passive-aggressive feud between the sky city and the people who lived by the sea. ‘It’s not a lake!’ ‘It looks like one from up here’; that level of pettiness.”

did i mention my nnwm project is only doing a third of this entire book. it has 110 chapters of roughly 2k each. i didnt even get 30 done in november haha

i'm in my creative writing capstone and literally already writing a novel anyway. should i just go balls to the wall and see if i can write the whole thing/a full draft instead of 80 pages

Day 1: All I know is that I did write today. Which is an accomplishment for me to make a plan to write and then actually sit down and write!
