even if ronance isn’t endgame, i need nancy to have an arc where she chooses her friend. in my head, the only thing that makes sense is nancy choosing robin. not even in the romantic sense (although i would die of happiness if it was), just nancy remembering her choices and not making the same mistakes she made at sixteen.

having nancy go through four seasons of chasing/grieving/fighting for her best friend, only to turn her entire character into a plot device for steve or jonathan, would be the worst possible choice the duffers could make.

Spicy Six as a little lawyer team, mayhaps? I feel like as a team, they'd be an absolute dream team. And also, office romance 👀

Like, Eddie is a storyteller. He'd be perfect for opening and closing statements. He'd have everyone hooked, very persuasive and know exactly which emotional beat to hit.

Nancy would hit every beat of evidence they have in her opening/closing statements, laying out the facts to back their argument up, whilst simultaneously dismantling their oppositions entire argument.

Steve and Argyle would be great whenever a witness or expert is on the stand, for opposite reasons. Steve can rip you a new one on cross, easily dismissing the oppositions 'experts'. He asks the dumb questions too, so there's no mistaking the evidence and facts.

But also, Argyle is so chill and nice, he'd be great at making their people come across as nice and open to the jury. He'd ask questions in a way that make it seem obvious- phrasing and tone making the opposition seem like complete idiots for trying to refute them.

Robin and Jonathan would work best behind the scenes. They'd be great at collecting evidence, vetting said evidence and helping the others formulate their arguments in the most effective way. They'd be noticing little things too, passing notes about discrepancies and making the objections.

Their first case would undoubtedly be against the government, suing for anything and everything they can charge them with. And it'd be a lot. And it'd be a massive case, because they'd win.

so i have a funny realization

between these two groups

these two idiotic and stupid groups whom my friend and i love very much

let me list down some familiar things and details though:

one girl has a girl best friend who dies

one guy is a former "bully" who stopped and just wanted to not be like that anymore

one guy is pinning over his childhood friend but is keeping the fact that he likes her to himself

one girl is a quiet person who is misinterpreted to be cold and just "focused" on academics

the two guys have chemistry and banter with each other and have actual scenes that may be taken in a very gay way

same with the two girls, except it started with a rivalry sort of sense

one of the girls is "different" for one reason or another but one guy and the other girl never gives up on her

after that one girl's best friend dies, the other girl slowly became her girl best friend in the process of the show

there's a weird love triangle-square thing going on

one of the main human antagonists is an absolute ass, has a mullet, and has the rivalry (aka the want to kill and almost does kill) towards one of the guys

one girl and one guy have never properly "interacted and got close to one another", at least hopefully not yet

forced together by outside life threatening forces

now, here's the real question

am i talking about the main four of st or the main four of aouad?

List of Terrible Fucking Plot lines Stranger Things 5 could have but hopefully doesn’t, as decided by me and my bff

─ Jonathan being killed off to allow Steve and Nancy to end up together

─ Steve dying for Nancy, specifically

─ Anyone dying for fucking romantic intentions

─ Will dying. If it happens, he should have just stayed dead in season 1, no more burying gays pls

─ Will dying for Mike (see third item on the list)

─ Vickie and Robin ending up together with only like 2 scenes of relationship development even though they’re the same person pretty much

─ Lucas not getting a big plot line to do something in Max’s honor

─ Will not being the one to state the title “stranger things” in a sentence since he started it all

─ Eddie coming back as a vampire or whatever (sorry guys, but like if the Upside Down goes down with Vecna, so will his creations aka Eddie and I dont wanna get him back just for him to die again)

─ Nancy’s storyline being reduced to a love triangle which shouldn’t have made it past season 2

─ Steve not finding love with someone else (we don’t care if it’s a Mary Sue at this point given the fact the love triangle only came back because they decided to make robin a lesbian and not a love interest for Steve—which we love—but let Steve, Nancy and Jonathan move the fuck on from it)

─ Keith still working at family video (man is a job hopper, they better stick to the script and have him at a new job for our amusement)

─ Lonnie doesn’t die (pls kill him, he hasn’t been seen in forever but we don’t care, we want him dead)

─ Nancy dies (because we fear heterosexual men think that is the only way to end a love triangle “fairly” between two guys and a woman: killing off the woman)

─ Nancy being reduced to a stay at home mom for six fucking children in the end when she’s expressed nothing but ambition to pursue an education and career

─ argyle dies (illegal)

─ Erica still getting stuck as the sassy black girl (loved it in ST3 but all she really got in ST4 was some killer one liners and then assaulted by a nearly grown man) with no other development despite being incredibly relevant to plot lines

Yeah, I’ll add more later but I’m posting this for future reference so we can take shots if it happens when we watch ST5 :)

Gravel crunches under his tires as the sheriff pulls into the main parking lot. I try to see how many cars are coming to the rescue, but I only see one. Sheriff Lillard steps out and approaches the woman with his hands folded across his chest.

"Porter," I say. "Did you tell him she has a gun?"

"Yeah," Porter says. "Guess he doesn't care?"

"What are you doing out here, Nancy?" Sheriff Lillard asks. There is no concern in his voice at all.

If Radio Silence acknowledged (and I mean acknowledge, in the movies) that Sam is deranged and enjoys hurting people, I’d still like her! The main thing that annoys me about Scream VI (in regards to this topic, anyway) is that they’re treating Sam like a Hero™. It makes her feel boring, but it’s also irritating because the only thing making her better than the Ghostface killers is that she hasn’t hurt any innocents... yet. I mean, how long before she actually fully snaps?

Otherwise, she’s just like Amber or the Kirsches; she clearly enjoys butchering people. (Idk if Wayne enjoyed harming people, but he clearly had no qualms with doing so.) She just uses the excuse of killing serial killers and her father being a serial killer. If she hadn’t gone so ham, cheese, and turkey on Richard, the Kirsches wouldn’t have snapped. (That is canon, Wayne literally told her that.)

I just really hate the aspect of: “This super important character can be this way, but these characters must die for being slightly worse.” 😒 And it’d be much more interesting if they acknowledged all of this!

Here’s the thing: Max knows when someone’s bullshitting her.

It’s a skill she picked up from her biological father, part of his bail-bondsman tool set. Look for certain clues, certain tells. Everyone has one, even when they think they don’t. A twitch in the eye. A nose-rub. Something unconscious that people do. It always gives them away.

Which is how Max knows that her roommate is hiding something from her.

Nancy’s tell is methodical, she’s used to withholding information. Lying by omission. Or faking a casual airiness. It’s why Nancy can’t beat her at poker, Max sees right through her bluff every. single. time.

Max pushes her frames up as they slide down her nose, resting her elbows on the counter, leaning over it, watching as Nancy puts a dish away.

“So,” she starts, as innocently as she can. “Why do you think the Spider-Woman disappeared?”

Nancy doesn’t turn around. She shrugs, focusing real hard on drying the next dish. Max has to hand it to her, she’s good at thinking on her feet. “I don’t know,” she says, annoyance creeping in her voice. “Maybe she just got tired? Superheroes get tired, don’t they?” She turns back around, smile tight and face scrunched, and it’s the same look Nancy gets when her parents call asking how she is, and Nancy puts on the tight smile and replies, “Fine, mom.”

The same one she gets when she’s lying.

Bingo.
