I'll be honest, while Deuxmoi always and still does post a ton of BS, thanks to the development of this never-ending saga...I'm starting to really feel like she's been used intentionally to push this narrative along all the way from the very beginning. Aka 2021.

A very out there theory but hear me out: Early on, the fandom had the general consensus DM was BS. Especially in regards to CE. Because DM was the one that first started spreading his super secret GF nonsense back in 2021, right before the introduction of Soba Saga. Her almost nonsensical rants about her having legit sources on this secret GF - while doing weekly podcasts where she insisted she never got any intel on him because his circle was so tight knit (interesting how that suddenly changed out of nowhere when someone showed up) - just made her seem like crazy cat lady gossip conspiracy Marjorie Taylor Greene on steroids.

She was the first to post that "dating Soba for over a year and everyone in PT/her circle knows about it" in early 2022.

They go public in late 2022. 2023 There's some Sunday Spotted (I could be wrong) vDAY post about CE and "fiancé" being seen in town at dinner (sounds very similar to the most recent vDay sighting). That was about 10 months before the super secret wedding and there had been no announcement of being engaged, minus the Tumblr blogs and random third rate tabloids and troll twitter accounts passing on the rumors. DM starts spreading around the same time some Tumblr blogs get the intel about secret engagement, wedding, rift in the family, people on his side not liking Soba, etc. Eventually it is revealed DM was right all along???? In a complete turn of events her credibility goes from zero to 1 (grudgingly of course, while she continues to spill BS daily)

Meanwhile, DM gets the first RPatz sighting with Scarlett and crew at dinner. Nobody believed it - as Nancy mentioned, it just seemed too farfetched with the way that restaurant was set up.

Then in early 2024 we get an actual RPatz sighting with with Soba/CE, and separately, sightings with Scarlett and Colin. Now there's more "credibility" to that random other sighting even if it still can't be proven.

Now...possible project with RPatz and CE's name circulating. Maybe just gossip fodder, maybe some truth to it. Time will tell. Coincidences once again.

DM gets the sighting of CE in LA with Russos. He actually confirms that one himself a month later.

Simultaneously, DM gets random sightings of CE doing other stuff where soba is not mentioned. Nobody knows really what to believe anymore.

But for every 15 BS things she posts, she actually gets 1-2 right. It starts to completely make her a hit or miss source but enough to get people riled up and worried if/when she gets something related to CE/Soba.

In a way, this strategy, if it were to have any salt to it, is kinda interesting. It also sort of enforces the idea of possible foul play. Because if CE is truly in such a happy, private, loveful relationship, why use somebody as uncouth as DM to throw out breadcrumbs? Especially since, in the past, his fanbase and most Tumblr blogs believed it was only legit if it came from someone like People Mag (his team's go-to). Ironically, Page 6 has been getting most of the exclusive scoops this time around, in addition to weird low rate tabloids that eventually make its way to the top.

I know I sound like crazy qanon conspiracy theorist, but I guess people see what they wanna see. But for the people who believe this relationship isn't as genuine as some want to believe, it kind of tracks that somebody's PR team pushing this out in ways to sort of make you wonder, question, and push back on the validity. Just enough to make you think, maybe, maybe there's something going on BTS that they're not saying but they're kinda telling. But you'll never know what the truth is. At least not for now.

I do find DM’s role since 2023 to be very interesting indeed. You missed nothing. Not one thing. She’s made herself be credible enough during this, but also, she’s questionable. So of course, take everything she says with a grain of salt.

I made this comment a bit ago to someone else, he still uses People. Who got the Jinx articles first. Think about that for a moment. He. Just him.

As far as the last paragraph, what I will say is celebrities need to be talked about. Good or bad, they need the press. They need to be in the front of people’s minds. What better way to have them in people’s minds, and to have fans talk about something long past their expiration date than by playing a game. PR has become such a hot topic word, and I think very few people even understand it. But to me, if you’re having to play so many games, what really is real? Live your life. Isn’t that what we continue to be told they’re doing?

melvins are still out there saying the s5 bts drop video means nothing for byler, and i was reading your post about duffs subverting tropes. im so interested in which tropes they choose to subvert or use or extend or morph. the famous we're friends! one re: byler is a classic, and is the subversion perhaps the fact that yes they are best friends and will remain so, as well as being two guys in love?

honestly if i had to quantify my main reason for thinking byler is endgame its not even anything quantifiable: it's just the chemistry between mike and will and the way they are directed, even more so than the way they are written. but you can't explain that to people who don't feel the chemistry or understand directorial choices. im sure there will be plenty of mileven fans who totally deny s5 and reject byler endgame, choosing to stop at s4 or rewrite the show, or even petition for it to be remade, sort of like a stranger things referendum lmao.

In fairness, they have a point as to how that teaser didn't have anything solid regarding Byler. However, if that is significant, then what does it mean for their own pairing?

The Duffers subvert tropes when it aids in storytelling, and it's largely dependent on how much the audience expects the trope in question. Subversion is meaningless if it can be predicted, after all. Steve ending up being a heroic, but flawed, character in season 1 is a good example because it subverts the Jerk Jock trope that was heavily common in the 80s, and I imagine remains to some extent today. Nobody would have expected Steve to return to help Nancy and Jonathan, but, if you look back, the seeds were there. He was already depicted as being less of a jerk than his friends, so it is more believable when he ends up telling them to fuck off because he realizes what bad influences they are.

Mike's "We're friends!" moment was very conspicuous because Will didn't really question it otherwise. Will's whole point was that they were friends, and it made no sense for Mike to not give a damn (from Will's perspective) anymore. For Mike to get so defensive about it suggests that it struck a nerve that Will didn't intend. However, due to the general audience seeing it as a "Will is a third wheel" situation, the Duffers are able to use that trope to misdirect the audience. It's another situation where the real meaning isn't a forced twist since there is plenty of evidence there to show the real meaning, but most people just wouldn't notice at first because the Duffers played into their expectations. Yes, Will is upset that his friend is ignoring him, but, plot twist, Mike is overreacting because there's more going on there than meets the eye.

There's bound to be more tropes next season, and I fully expect the Duffers to work those audience expectations into the story.

hooooo boy you have opened pandora's box...I'll try to keep it short, hopefully I can lay it out sufficiently!!

So essentially, from the newspapers we see in the show re: the Creel massacre in 1959, we've found a few odd details.

In the Weekly Watcher, we've got Henry, his sister Alice, his mother Virginia, and his father Victor. In the Indianapolis Gazette, however, we're shown Edward Creel, his sister Virginia, his mother Alice, and his father Victor.

Edward Creel and his family lived in Hawkins for 2 years per this paper, whereas we know from Dear Billy that Victor and Henry et. al. lived there for only a month or so ("we had a month of peace"). The Creels mentioned in the Weekly Watcher also had an exorcism done at the house, which isn't mentioned outside of Robin's quip about the exorcist. In Edward's paper, Victor is 38. In Henry's, he's 40. The Creel murders also occur on different dates in both papers.

We've also got other papers earlier on in ST which make mentions of a Martin Brenner and a Richard Brenner, and two different sets of circumstances surrounding Will's vanishing (one clipping says he was found being experimented on in the lab, and the other says he was found in a cabin in the woods).

All this to say, it seems like there was a split or a merge in timelines prior to the Creel murders, at least one, likely two timelines where Henry/Edward either turned time back by two years or pulled the other timeline two years into the future, and we've been swapping between these timelines ever since.

This is supported by a lot of set, costuming, and shot design analysis, based on: Brenner (his hair part and coloring swap back and forth between 1959 (right side, brown w/ grey streak), 1971 (left side, full brown), 1979 (right side, white), 1983 (left side, grey), and 1986 (right side, white), and in many of the shots in earlier years look older than others, all of which could be have been corrected by VFX and/or makeup) the 4 different unique jumpsuits made for "Henry" during the 1979 Massacre, fuckery with the NINA sequence in general (including but not limited to the unexplained double-keycard problem (if Henry needed a keycard to get to the boiler room, and he gave that keycard to El, then how did he get into the boiler room?), versions of "Henry" who look vastly different from each other in back-to-back shots, sequences where El runs past hallways twice, dates/times changing on the same security camera showing the same footage, bodies of corpses changing position between shots/limbs being broken vs unbroken and eyes gouged vs not gouged, child corpses swapping for adult corpses, physical fuckery with mirrors which I actually made a post about today, etc.) Nancy's comments about the timeline being wrong "Henry"s infamous clock-winding scene architectural differences between Victor's version of the Creel house and "Henry"s version of the Creel house (i.e., a completely new door appears out of nowhere and wallpaper changes color from what we see in Victor's retelling vs "Henry"s retelling vs what the gang sees when they explore the house) the fact that the Wheelers and the Creels physically look so similar to each other (Karen and Virginia look the same, Holly looks like little Henry, etc.) which would line up were Karen to be that alternate, younger Virginia Eddie Munson's age swapping from 19 in the show to 17 on his missing poster Eddie being Vecna in Hellfire's DnD campaign X-Men 134 from S1E1 being the issue where Jean Grey splits into Dark Phoenix the Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde imagery with the stage production posters (and c'mon...Henry and Edward Creel...Henry Jekyll (good) vs Edward Hyde (evil)) the BTS stills of a no-blood-splatter Henry crouching over the corpses in the rainbow room looking confused and just...so much more. I'm sure I'm forgetting bits, there's just...so much.

All this to say: There are likely at least two, if not 4 different timelines. As such, we can't be certain that Henry Creel is actually Venca. If anything, it seems more likely that it's Edward Creel is Vecna, and Henry Creel ended up elsewhere. There's also an entire Scott Clarke component to it, which ties in with the stage production, but it's not necessarily integral to the theory.

KAMP LA Day 1 Pros&Cons

This'll be a long one...

Cons (Let’s get those outta the way first)

-$50 parking?????

-Lines. For awhile there were like 6 of them cause no one knew where they were going or what they were supposed to do. I spent like half an hour w/ another fan just wandering around in different lines tryna find the right one until we did a full circle and went back to the line we were told to move from in the first place. Like why were there no signs whatsoever?? No workers stationed throughout the grounds to give instructions. Just eww.

-Maybe I was expecting too much from a company that couldn’t even get all of their booked artists to fly over but I was kinda hoping there’d be artist-specific merch or freebies. I would have even been happy with cheaply printed fake photocards :/

-P1Harmony & iKON should have had longer sets. I was a casual Piwon fan before KAMP but now I am srsly considering committing full-on. Their energy was soooo good, they have great live vocals & dancing, and every song they performed had me so hyped I totally would have wanted more. iKON. I practiced the Killing Me fanchant over and over only for them to not perform it?? I get opening with Sinosijak is basically tradition, Love Scenario is a must as the national anthem, Bling Bling was amazing, obviously gotta promote But You since it’s the newest, and I am a BDAY enthusiast but would I have preferred Killing Me, Freedom, or even Dragon? Absolutely. The set times were weird in general. T1419 was on stage for a very long time for a new group. I like them a lot but they performed like half of their discography. And Momoland seemed surprised that they were supposed to do another song. I don’t remember but I think it was Nancy that was like “oh we have another song?!” after they were ready to leave the stage. Then when iKON was on, they were tryna prolong their stage time by talking in between songs. Idk if SUJU got the amount of time they deserved but I really hope so since so many of their fans were there.

-That translator?? First of all, not 100% of my frustration goes to her since it seems like she’s not an actual translator but just a staff member of KAMP that was suddenly forced to be translator cause they probably didn’t have one. However, that still doesn't change the fact that she was...not the best. I don't speak Korean and I could still tell that she was not doing her job fully. There were moments when an artist would say like 5 sentences in Korean and the translator would be like "I'm so happy to be here, thank you". Like uhhhh I know for a fact that they said more than that and gave adequate pauses in between speaking to give room for the translator to talk. Also, asking T1419 who the best BTS impersonator is? What kind of question?? My memory is hazy, but I could have sworn there was a moment when the translator either dipped or just stopped talking, and T1419 were just trying to tough it through with their limited amount of English. I felt so bad for them, as this was their American debut and this is what they had to deal with. I noticed that besides Bobby, Jinhwan and from my memory, even Donghyuk a little bit, tried speaking more English, not relying on the translator too much as she wasn't translating everything they were saying, especially things in relation to the many mishaps going on. I also heard that one of the Super Junior members called out the translator for mistranslating what he said. I don't know if this was KAMP's weird attempt at censoring the artists' critiquing the organization, or if she just wasn't well-versed in translating – her grammar was off at times, making me wonder if she's just proficient in English and isn't actually fluent, which I am not blaming her for. But if that is the case, and the predominantly Korean-speaking artists can point out when there are flaws in the translation, then maybe KAMP should have actually had a professional translator prepared.

-I'm not elaborating on the obvious screwups of idk...half the artists not even being there and the lack of a sufficient apology and such cause idk what else I can say about that. I ended up requesting a refund for Day 2 because the artist I wanted to see most was MONSTA X, and even without them, T1419, MOMOLAND, and EPIK HIGH were up there, but I already saw T1419 and MOMOLAND on Day 1 so at that point, it just wasn't in my best interest financially to go. I think about how I at least got to see one of my ults, iKON, but a lot of people didn't even get that. I met someone in Koreatown who flew in from another state in the midwest JUST to see Kai. Like yeah, a refund is great (deserved tbh) but what about people's hotel expenses, gas costs, airfare, etc. Obviously KAMP isn't legally responsible for covering those, but on a moral front – all that money wasted because of a mistake KAMP made.

ANYWAY

Pros (Cause KAMP sucked but there people that showed up didn't)

-P1H's set was sooooooo good

-"When I say 'Kee', you say 'Ho'" and that bilingual joke. We love Keeho, bilingual king

-Oh yeah, P1H was great btw I may or may not be on my way to becoming a P1ece

-T1419 did amazing & congrats on their American debut! They seemed super nervous but for being so young they were great live performers. I'm definitely gonna keep supporting them.

-Also the collective 'ohhhhhh' from the crowd when they explained the meaning of their group name💀

-MOMOLAND has gained a new fan. Their type of music is usually not my cup of tea at all, but there's such an aesthetic appeal to the way they dance and their songs are so catchy I just loved every bit of their performance. Their stage presence is just AHH Exquisite. Also I could tell at parts they were being real sarcastic about the whole situation. The passive aggressive behavior was suuuuuper relatable and I adored it.

-iKON!!!!!!!!!! I can't even speak about it coherently yet. They were amazing. I love them. I loved them before. I love them even more now. Seeing them live is everything I imagined and more so. They didn't live up to the hype but exceeded it.

-Jinhwan shading the translator. Also him jumping as if to say "can y'all see me?" I love all 65 inches of him.

-Bobby live –– seeing one of my ult biases live –– he's (no pun intended but well deserved) iconic. Also he made us bark. I was too in awe to even process it but if my delayed processing hadn't kicked in I would have barked and chased my own ass in circles if he asked me to😩✋ Mrs. Bobby tell ur husband to leave his kinks at home

-Also Donghyuk bias-wrecked me harder than he ever has that night he was looking fine af🥵

-There was a trio of dudes that sat in my area that were just the definition of the greatest fans on the planet. They cheered so loud waving their EXO lightstick like a lasso and dancing and singing for EVERY. SINGLE. ARTIST. What class-A supporters. When Keeho said "When I say Kee, you say Ho," they said HO with their whole chest. When MOMOLAND was on, one of them screamed "I LOVE YOU NANCY" louder than I thought was humanely possible. When iKON left the stage before their encore, they started the iKON chant in my section for them to come back. The were incredibly loud and obnoxious and looked like they had a blast. I aspire to be them.

mar the last episode was so good but I am WORRIED about the foreshadowing. A ghost possessing Ace who died protecting the woman he loved? With a catchphrase about never leaving his sweetheart? I feel like Ace is going to die/leave and it is freaking me out. You always have good theories so what do you think?

Hey! Sorry for the late response. I have a tendency to jump towards the worst case scenario so I had to talk myself off of a few ledges before I answered you. I fear that I, too, initially sensed some morbid foreshadowing from 3x03 bahahah.

Before I dive into any theories, I’ll share with you why I don’t think Ace is going to die/Alex is going to leave the show. None of my reasons are concrete canon evidence, more just general vibes, so take them how you will!

For one, Ace has a new plot that is focusing on his future and his character is being thoroughly fleshed out this season, as are his relationships (see: his romance with the main character). If the writers planned on disposing of Ace, I think they would be winding down his involvement with the overall plot. He would probably have a lighter story this season if he were dying/leaving as a way to prep the audience for a goodbye. Instead, they are roping him deeper into the drama, creating new drama specifically for him, and giving Ace’s character a fresh face in the process.

Secondly, unlike so many writers rooms, the writers for Nancy Drew are genuinely trying to create a story that viewers will enjoy. They know their audience and make it a point to have their thumb on the pulse of fandom. They realize what a beloved character Ace is and are well aware that his relationship with Nancy is the show’s biggest selling point. For that reason alone, I highly doubt the writers would sit down and say “you know what would be the worst decision we could possibly make but is something we should totally do just for shock value? KILL OFF ACE! We may lose 3/4 of our viewers but fuck it.”

That sentiment goes for every member of the Drew Crew, including George who has been “dying” for 3 seasons now. The writers know they need all 5 of their mains on screen for the show to remain successful.

Writing Logistics aside, the only way I can imagine Ace’s character being written off is if Alex Saxon decided to leave. He’s a very quiet dude so it’s hard to get an idea of where his head is at, but we haven’t seen anything from him, cast, or crew to suggest he’s parting ways with the show. In fact, recently he’s been more active on social media and more vocal about Nancy Drew than ever. With that and the rare BTS we see of him, he seems happy working on the show, just like everyone else. Obviously, there could be other reasons for his leaving (contracts, money, time, location, life in general, etc.), but 🤷🏼‍♀️ if the narrative doesn’t suggest Ace is going anywhere, I doubt Alex is.

All that being said, I do still think the love story of Laci’s Grandma and Joe Kelsey was either a subtle parallel to Nace in 2x12, some unsubtle foreshadowing for Nace’s future, or both. Either way, it served hard Nace vibes.

If we’re talking parallels, I think Joe and Grandma’s story was told to help Ace and Nancy connect some dots regarding their own relationship. Parallels they could draw to themselves include:

Joe and Grandma worked together // Ace and Nancy currently work together.

Joe took the fall for a murder he didn’t commit and was executed to protect Grandma // Nancy risked lives, recanted her testimony against a murderer, and soiled her reputation to protect Ace.

You can tell in ^ this ^ moment that Nancy relates to what Joe did because she did something similar for Ace. Nancy is already aware she has feelings for Ace, so making this connection is not exactly a revelation to her as much as it is affirmation that she’s in love with him and would do anything for him.

Ace, on the other hand, never fully understood exactly why Nancy did what she did for him in 2x12. He never realized her motives for saving him were partly out of romantic love. Hearing Grandma tell her and Joe’s story probably didn’t force him to put two and two together, but I don’t think it escaped Ace’s notice that Nancy did for him what Joe did for the woman he was in love with: sacrificed themself. You can see the realization play across Ace’s face after the truth is revealed and Joe’s ghost appears to them.

When Ace says “he knows now,” I don’t think he was only referring to Joe. I think it is finally occurring to him that Nancy’s love for him may just be exceptional.

Other parallels between 3x03 and 2x12 that are noteworthy:

Ace x Nancy x Grant Trio Adventure // Ace x Nancy x George Trio Adventure.

Ace dangling from a ledge // Nancy dangling from a ledge.

Intense Nace moment after Ace is saved // Heated Nace moment after Nancy is saved.

“The Holt Group is just a front - a part of something much larger.” // “I’m a part of something much bigger. You’ll never understand.”

Now, if we’re talking foreshadowing, what we’re all assuming is that, like Joe, Ace is going to sacrifice his life to save the woman he loves: Nancy. When, how, or why Ace would do this, we have no clue. Temperance, The Road Back, FHK, and Bertram Bobbsey are all viable threats to them right now, so it’s hard to pinpoint from which direction a sacrificial act of love may come into play. Because of the way Ace and Nancy are the two most involved in The Road Back plot, I’d say TRB is the greatest danger to Ace and Nace’s relationship. Really though, I have no idea how this would all play out.

What I do think is that, IF Ace follows in Joe’s footsteps, Ace’s death would be a fake-out, and/or we’ll be unsure of his fate between S3 & S4, similar to how we were unsure of Bellamy’s fate between S1 & S2 of The 100. IF Ace sacrifices himself for Nancy, I’m confident he won’t actually die.

I don’t have theories regarding any of this so much as vague ideas of possible scenarios. I could see:

Ace faking his death and going on the run.  @horseshoebae and I had a fun discussion with @mslizzieforbes on twitter (hi Riley!) about how Nancy may or may not go with him if this happens. Riley thinks she would. I think in S4 Nancy may just know where Ace is hiding and meet up with him in secret like Grandma did with Joe. Either way, the gist is the same. Here’s our twitter thread to get a better understanding:

Ace sacrifices his life for Nancy but Nancy resurrects him with WiW magic. Dani and I tossed this idea around on our second? third? fourth? spiral of Saturday. It’s pretty self explanatory. Dani also figured one or more of the tarot card prophecies could factor into this scenario, specifically the prophecy “one of you will be the others’ demise,” with Nancy being Ace’s. I think that’s what she figured, anyway. CORRECT ME IF I’VE MISREMEMBERED, DANI! Now, the only reason I’m considering resurrection an option at all is because at the end of 3x02, they made a point of showing us that Kegstand was brought back to life through Bess using a WiW spell. Clearly we were shown that for a reason, so maybe it will come into play if Ace dies and requires some resurrecting? Though this one seems more likely to happen with George.

These are the only “theories” I/we have so far, anon, and as fun as they are, I fear they are mostly unsubstantial! Presently, I can’t fully subscribe to them myself.

And actually, the more I think about it, the more 3x03 feels like a big ol’ followup to 2x12 than anything else. Even Joe and Grandma’s love story reads as a callback to Ace, Nancy, and the Paper Mill now. Which? Is kind of ideal.

"Rebel robin" easterggs

- Robin's friend is a horror movie fan whos fav movie is evil dead (jonathan has a poster of it in his room)

- Robin's parent's car is the " dodge dart" a ref to Dustin's demodog-dart

-robin and her friends make analogies to zombies (like Will- the zombie boy).

- robin faints. And her friend milton says "blink once for yes twice for no". A ref to what Joyce said to Will in s1.

- robin's other friend has a little sister named el-ie who pretends to be a squirrel. A ref to el killing a squirrel in s2. This is also reminiscent of a scene from the st prequel novel ' suspicious minds' where young-kali pretended to be a tiger (the Hawkins school mascot) & a rabbit (Jonathan's hunting story).

- robin reminds me alot of the byers: she is into photography and rock like jonathan and even worked at the movie theatre like jonathan did in the og pilot. They both like David bowie and cook for their families. She also is poor and wears hand-me down clothes from relatives (like Will). She also is into existential philosophers. Which is also similar to jonathan who had a poster of the poet rimbaud in his room.

- robin is almost run over by a car by a bully while riding her bike: similar to Mike, Dustin, and Lucas in s2

- robin says the best accessory for a girl is her middle finger. Cue max giving the middle finger to billy in s2 XD

- robin (before Will dissapears) sees the quarry and gets uncomfortable and thinks of metaphorical monsters

- similar to how billy had baseball references (along with Will). Robin wears a baseball shirt

- her fav flavor of pie is cherry (like alexi and cherry slurpies). She also gets pissed at a guy sipping a cherry flavored drink- similar to hopper in s3 with alexi

- she cuts her hair and she describes it as looking like a lion. El and Will owned lion plushies in s1.

- robin refs Chicago (kali lives there) and NYC (hopper used to live there), and California (where max and billy used to live).

- they make references to the hellfire club: she describes a time where she dresses like a cross between a nerd and a rebel. And a mom yells at her appearance saying she looks "goddless' . And another of Robin's friend (kate) is told ' what demon is possessing you, kate?" (hinting at the satanic panic). Meanwhile someone describes Mike and his friends as "hellions' as another hint to this. We also see how alot of parents got paranoid and a bit crazy when Will and barb dissappeared- prob foreshadowing the chaos that will happen if more kids dissappear in s4. A bit like how Will found the zombieboy note in his locker. But sheena can be another name for Jane so ...maybe foreshadowing of el/jane being bullied in highscool?

- when robin hears a hom*phobic comment on tv- she describes the anxiety like a ' thundercloud in a big open sky' and a "chill". Which reminds me of the mf being associated with clouds, thunder, and lightning. And the mf liking it cold.

- robin constantly describes the monster or shadow in her life- whether it be her talking about conformity or the problems of consumerism while she is poor (themes of s3).

- robin before realizing she was gay/crushing on tammy just says " I don't get crushes' which reminds me a bit of Will saying " I'm not going to fall in love" (as the lyrics are " love thats new to you, you open up the door')

-robin on her bike hears something (demogorgan) and runs back to her house , locks the door, and calls her friend- and the phone gets electrocuted. The next day Will is said to be missing. (Another Will paralllel).

- i was right about robin being in theatre. So we most likely will see robin in theatre in s4 (she also auditioned with a friend in the book). So for s4 my guess is she may be in the drama club with dustin- cause in s1 he had a drama shirt

- one of her friends is named milton. Since the documentary 'paradise lost' was on the s4 movie list. Its prob a ref to John milton who wrote the fictional 'paradise lost'. The character Sheena may be a ref to the 80s film/movies *where sheena (jane) was psychic

-Robin's gal pal (kate) and Robin eat m&ms and candies together. Kate jokes m&ms and candy bars are 'foods of the gods'. El ate m&ms in s3. They joke how talking about plural gods (instead of 1) would get them in trouble. In case you are unaware- kali (is the name of a Hindu goddess) and el (is the name of a cannanite god) .

born at 12:02 am on june 1, three minutes after her twin brother, making her younger — a fact cecil never let her forget.

the twins shared one name. one head. two hands. two feet. one heart. it was impossible to tell them apart as small children, everyone assuming they were identical twins with their matching haircuts and outfits.

their parents had met when their father was shooting a movie in brazil, sweeping their mother off her feet, and bringing her to connecticut where they were married within three months. only four years later she was moving to italy to live with her young lover.

back and forth the twins moved between their father’s home and their mother’s home. the constant shuffling around led them to be homeschooled in their youth. all the better for them. the twins ran through the large houses, barefoot, with laughter filling the corridors behind them.

it wasn’t that their parents didn’t love them, but they had other things to preoccupy their time. cecil and cecilia only had each other.

when they turned 11, they were enrolled in a middle school, settling in with their father full time during the school year. the other kids might not have known them, but they certainly recognized their last name. despite their lack of early socialization, they made friends quickly. calm and easy to converse with, they were respected among their peers.

(attempted murder tw) the first incident happened when they were 12. with their friend over and their father gone, the three of them were swimming in the pool. their friend, wanting to show off, dived into the pool. in the blink of an eye, cecilia watched red bloom from him, seeping slowly into the surrounding pool water. she wanted to run and find the housekeeper, wanted to call 911. do something. do anything. cecil held his hand up, stopping her in his tracks. his eyes were on their friend floating face down in the pool, and her eyes were on him, searching for anything buried in his cold, dark eyes. as the seconds ticked by, he finally lowered his hand, and cecilia ran screaming into the house. the friend lived, but from then on, there seemed to be a separation between the twins and the rest of the world.

they skipped eighth grade, too smart for any of the silly assignments their teachers had for them that year. they played tennis and golf and even learned to sail. all activities they could do together. all activities their parents had wanted them to learn on their own.

(animal death tw) it was their trips to italy that got them interested in architecture and history and classics. places they could explore first hand, reconstructing history with nothing more than their imaginations. one night, they snuck out of their mother’s villa and stole three chickens from a neighboring farm. deep into the woods they went until they came across the smooth stone. it was cecil that butchered them, but this time, cecilia’s eyes were cold as she watched the blood spill down the stone and seep into the forest floor. the gods were appeased cecil had said.

every time a friend encouraged cecilia to step away from cecil, the friendship ended shortly after. he was her older brother. he knew the ways of the world and was helping lead her through it. she went on dates but she never dated, preferring to limit her company. perhaps that’s why everyone clamored to be around her, and even fought for cecil’s attention. they didn’t walk, they floated, in a reality of their own making. a secret universe that no one else got a glimpse of. but their classmates and their teammates and their neighbors needed to know what made them so different from everyone else, blinding them to the coldness the twins wrapped themselves in like a large quilt.

off they went to college, both of them double majoring in classics and history with a minor in latin.

the tipping point came when they were placed in different recitations for some general lecture. they demanded their parents try to convince the dean to place them in the same one, and the parents insisted they tried their hardest, but in reality, they were happy to see the twins apart. it was there that she made friends. friends who didn’t know her brother, and didn’t care to know him. it started with study group without cecil, but it grew bigger and bigger, until slowly, she became cecilia rutherford and not cecil’s sister.

of course, he didn’t take this news well. he was sick every month, needing cecilia to nurse him back to health. or he wanted to do a family dinner the same night she was supposed to go out. she tried reconciling him and her friends, but they never seemed to get along. torn between two worlds, she was tugged back and forth, helpless in the middle.

(murder tw) bunny, siobhan, cecilia, and cecil were at the marina late at night. they were tying the boat up, having spent the whole day in the sun, still tipsy from an afternoon of drinking. a comment about one of their classes, one cecil wasn’t in, struck a nerve, and he launched into a tiraid. a move to grab cecilia, resulted in him being pushed away, slipping and falling over the pier and hitting his head on the boat before he landed in the water with a splash. nobody made a move to call for help. a relief really. he had been but a stone, trying to drag everyone down to whatever sad pit of despair he lived in. it was a secret that they would take to the grave, binding them together.

they stayed close throughout college, drifting away as they graduated. cecilia moved from pursuit to pursuit, treating everything as if it was some kind of game rather than a career. she even tried her hand at writing a novel, growing bored after only ten chapters in. she had more fun laying around on the yacht of whoever she was seeing at the moment.

her brother’s death hardly left a mark on the family. they cried together at the funeral, but they floated apart again, dealing with the grief in their own way. she never talked about it, preferring to block out his memory entirely than deal with the consequences of their actions. this proved impossible when she received a note, slipped under the door of the penthouse she was currently renting out. a note, in her deceased brother’s handwriting. you can’t get away that easily. fear left her cold, and she tracked down her old friends, packing up and moving to irving, north carolina to confront the past.

PERSONALITY

she’s friendly and charming and outgoing. she can talk to everyone and be kind to everyone, but that doesn’t mean she likes everyone. it’s all about appearances. is very good at hiding things and keeping things close to her. she’s still struggling with the loss of her brother because he was her best friend. she’s aware of his flaws, but it’s hard for her to reconcile her fairytale version of him and the truth. cecilia is super smart and pretentious and snobbish, but she’s also a bit of an airhead in that she’s not aware of how the “common person” lives. she’s very out of touch with things because she lives in the bubble of her parents’ money. she’s calm always. it always seems like nothing fazes her, and it’s all a façade. um i think i’ll add more to this later but that is all for now :)

aa i wrote this ages ago and realized i never posted it anywhere! i was playing halo jake and there was this adorable baby ace rando on the team, and i had so much feels i word vomited this after the match. not one of my best but i’ll take every opportunity to get some more rarepairs out there!

Jake X Ace: Just another trial fic

Jake stares at the pre-trial campfire, bored out of his mind, trying to choose between burning an escape cake or anniversary cake. The other two are waiting impatiently for a fourth survivor to join, Nea's sneaker restlessly tapping against the ground.

“Finally,” Bill grumbles and Jake lifts his head and sees… oh no. “Hey team! Good luck!” Ace cheers, a charming grin on his face as he quickly grabs a med-kit before they begin fading into a trial.

Jake's heart starts beating faster and he slaps on the ghastly gateau and quickly replaces Iron Will with Borrowed Time, forgoing his usual selfish ways for something that will benefit Ace—err, the team.

Jake spawns into the trial on Haddonfield and tries to quell his disappointment upon noticing he’s alone. He sees a totem and decides he might as well cleanse it since he's running one of Nancy’s perk that will allow for a quick heal later.

Not even five seconds after the bones from the totem clatter to the ground, Jake hears a monstrous screech from somewhere on the other side of the street. Looks like the killer already found someone—shit, please don't let it be Ace. 

Jake sprints into the nearest house and gets to work on the generator upstairs, much more motivated to make himself useful after knowing the killer is in a chase. Bill joins him, walking up the stairs cautiously.

“Looks like we're facing the Nurse, son,” the veteran grumbles. “It sounded like the Demogorgon to me,” Jake counters. He's sure it's a Demo, the old geezer should really get his ears checked. “I heard the screech. It's a nurse,” Bill argues. “Whatever,” Jake says, not wanting to start an argument. There's another screech, then a squeal as the creature gets stunned. Bill frowns. “Never mind, Demogorgon it is,” Bill grumbles. Jake doesn't take any comfort in being right, worry spreading through him as with Bill here, there's a 50/50 chance that Ace is the one being chased.

They finish the generator and Jake takes off in a sprint towards the middle of the map, Bill grumbling something about being careful. Jake hears the heartbeat get louder. He rounds a corner, and comes face to face—maw?—with the killer.

“AAGH!” Jake screams from the pain of the killer's sharp claws connecting with his shoulder, taking off into a corner of the map away from any generators.

He manages to run the killer on the fences long enough for another gen to pop, but then he's hit through a window with the killer's charge attack and hoisted up on a hook.

He sees the auras of his teammates: Bill is on a generator, Nea is searching a chest, and Ace is cleansing a totem. His heart drops a little; nobody is making a move to come get him. After a moment, Bill abandons the generator and starts sprint bursting towards him, probably running his usual perks of Kindred and Borrowed Time. Unfortunately, Bill doesn't even get halfway before he apparently runs into the killer, his pained scream echoing through the trial as he starts running the opposite way with a slight limp.

The sound makes Nea and Ace perk up, and they both start making their way to the hook. Nea pauses, nearing where Bill is getting chased, apparently spooked by the terror radius. Luckily Ace doesn’t hesitate, making a beeline to Jake's hook even as the heartbeat gets louder and Jake's Spine Chill goes off.

“In a pickle, huh?” Ace grins. “Please have Borrowed Time,” Jake grumbles.

He's pulled off the hook and feels the endurance from the perk kick in just before the killer rounds the corner and is right by them.

“Over here, you overgrown fetus!” Ace taunts, running to a pallet between Jake and the killer. The Demogorgon looks Ace's way, and all sense of self-preservation leaves Jake as he runs right at the killer, taking the hit meant for Ace. He screams at the sharp pain, but he's still on his feet and makes good distance from the adrenaline. He senses the killer looking in his direction, a chill running up his spine, before he hears the shriek of the creature being pallet stunned followed by some Spanish expletives. Jake stops to mend his wounds while Ace takes the chase, before going into a nearby locker to heal.

Before he's even fully healed inside the relative safety of the rickety doors, Ace is up on the same hook as he was before, having been forced to loop a bad area because of Jake's dumb mistake.

Jake doesn't even realize another generator is popping when he stumbles out of the locker, running straight at the hook. He gets a familiar uncanny feeling in the back of his mind, signaling the obsession, Bill, is being chased.

He reaches the hook and there's thankfully still no heartbeat.

“My angel,” Ace grins through the pain as Jake pulls him off of the hook. Jake's breath hitches at the compliment, before he remembers he's wearing the anniversary halo. He tries not to let disappointment show on his face, but then Ace is disappointing him further by walking away.

“Let me heal you,” Jake whispers. “Ace!” he hisses. His Spine Chill isn't even flickering on, and Bill is still being chased. Ace looks over his shoulder and grins, not slowing down, so Jake sighs dejectedly and follows the infuriating man.

Ace stops at the end of the street behind some obstacles to let Jake heal him. Jake still doesn't agree to this plan; sure, it's not in the open like the hook, but it’s closer to where Bill is running the killer. They spot Bill making his way to one of the nearby houses with the killer hot on his heels, and Ace tenses under Jake's touch. Jake pauses and positions himself on the other side of Ace, ready to take a hit (or ten) for the man if the killer somehow hears them healing.

When Ace is successfully patched up, Jake tilts his head back in the direction of the hook and unstarted generator next to it. Ace sighs and nods, obediently following behind him.

And then he stops to cleanse a dull totem.

“Ace,” Jake hisses, but the man pretends not to hear. Jake rolls his eyes and gets to work on the objective alone.

Bill eventually gets hooked and Jake is next, the killer bee-lining to his generator and managing to miss Ace completely because of him ducking down after cleansing the totem. What a lucky son of a bitch, Jake smirks fondly even while struggling against the Entity’s claws on a hook.

This time, both Nea and Ace are running to him as Bill finishes the second to last gen, and Nea beats the gambler to the hook while the heartbeat gets louder and Jake’s spine is chillier than a fucking snow storm. Ace stops in his tracks to give Nea a pointed stare, an eyebrow quirking up.

“I have We'll Make It!” the tag artist protests. “I have BT,” Ace counters, looking around for where the killer is coming, ready to take a hit. “Move your asses!” Jake exclaims, pushing through the pair and into the house to find a locker to heal or use Decisive if the killer goes for him.

Nea ends up taking a hit, Jake can hear her scream behind him and he runs to the second story of the house. Shit, there's no lockers upstairs! He hears Nea's cries of pain and the heartbeat is incredibly loud as she runs through the house and starts looping the car in front of it. Jake camps the upstairs window for a while, but when the killer isn't leaving Nea, he decides he needs to GTFO and leave the house to her. He walks out onto the roof of the house and drops down in the back yard—

—And proceeds to land less than a foot from Ace, hiding in the bushes, his arm bumping against the other's back during his fall.

“Holy shit!” “Fuck!” “You scared the shit out of me!” Ace says, hand on his chest.

Nea goes down in front of the house and Jake makes his way to a locker he spots right inside the doorway.

“Jake? What are you—” Ace starts, hovering in the doorway before ducking down as Nea gets hooked nearby.

The killer patrols the house, but Jake has already healed inside the locker. He just needs to wait for the killer to give up searching—

Suddenly, the killer yanks the lockers open and Jake nearly shits his pants. Ace appears back in the doorway, sprinting to him with a panicked expression, and upon seeing the man so worried for him Jake almost drops the shiv he's planning to embed in the killer's back.

Almost.

The killer shrieks from the stab, dropping Jake on the ground. He runs to the hook to save Nea, the impatient girl apparently having tried to unhook herself, the Entity’s claws already descending on her. Bill beats him to it, but even with both of them there, there’s no way they’re going to have enough time to heal her. Ace screams from inside the house, having taken a hit for them. They're all injured and scatter in different directions, and the killer, furious, decides to tunnel Nea.

Jake loses track of Bill and Ace, but a generator gets completed, Bill apparently having left one near-finished for a situation like this. Jake glances over and spots Nea running into one of the houses. Surely, she can keep the killer busy for just a little while longer.

Jake finds Bill already on an exit, coughing up blood from his injuries while still fearlessly pressuring the gate.

“What the hell's going on over there?" Bill chastises.

“Nea needs help,” Jake merely offers in explanation.

Bill heals him and shouts a “GO!” when Jake tries to return the favor. Jake sprints back into the map, hoping to find the woman.

And then he hears her go down. The killer isn’t picking her up, instead Jake hears it break a couple of pallets. When he finds Nea, she's recovering on the ground and the killer is standing right on top of her, waiting out Decisive, not eager to take another stab in the back. Jake gets seen on purpose, running right into the open, and the killer opens its maw in a threat but doesn't chase him. Jake bites his lip in frustration. Nea has started crawling, the unspoken code for only needing one last push from someone to get back on her feet. If only he could get to her—

Out of the corner of his eye, Jake sees Ace making his way over from the side. He glances at the other without turning his head, not wanting to make it obvious since Ace hasn’t been spotted yet.

When Ace nods in acknowledgement, Jake runs closer to the killer, doing a couple of circles for good measure. The killer hisses, and actually gets away from Nea to chase him. He leads the killer across the street, taking a clawed swing to the back for his troubles, while Ace runs in. The killer immediately turns around after landing the hit, but Ace should have more than enough time—

“Estúpida—why haven't you recovered!?” he hears Ace curse. Fuck. He runs back to Bill to get healed, hearing the killer lunge at Ace. There's no scream to signal a hit, and right after Nea is lifted off the ground and sacrificed on hook.

“Motherfucker,” Bill summarizes his thoughts and finally accepts healing.

Jake is worried for Ace. The man is at full health and surely has the other exit prepped, but Jake can hear the Demogorgon trying to lunge at him.

“Let's go, kid,” Bill commands, opening the exit, but Jake isn't moving, still looking into the trial worriedly. Bill huffs in annoyance and leaves.

Jake waits for the sound of the hatch opening, signaling he's alone in the trial, before exiting.

“Good work, everyone!” Ace greets them when they group together at the foggy path leading from trial to campfire. “Well, except for Nea. Crazy girl.” “Could’a saved her if she’d just recovered,” Bill grumbles.

Jake may be a horrible human being, but he doesn't really care about Nea right now. He's actually kind of mad at her for putting Ace in danger with her petty stunt.

“You did good, ángel,” Ace addresses him with a smile. “That my nickname now?” Jake asks, amusement in his voice as he adjusts the halo. “Jesus, get a fucking room," Bill snarks, rolling his eyes. Jake tenses and Ace raises an eyebrow at the veteran. “I got chased for several minutes and did three gens by myself while you two were busy fondling each other around hook.”

Ace blinks, he can see it through the sunglasses, confusion on his features. Meanwhile Jake merely glares at Bill, trying to warn him to shut the fuck up before he scares Ace away—

“So just fuck already, get it out of your systems so you’re not a liability in trials,” Bill, to Jake's mortification, finishes, lighting a cigarette in annoyance. He starts power-walking ahead of them, taking long puffs off the cig.

Jake sighs and turns to Ace, but falters upon seeing a delightful flush on the man's face as he adjusts his sunglasses, looking away from Jake.

“Well, that old geezer sure has interesting opinions on the events that unfolded,” Ace offers with a shaky smile. He's nervous, Jake realizes. “He's not wrong,” Jake blurts. Ace turns to him, looking at him in surprise. “I can't focus on the trial when you're there.”

Ace's mouth opens and then closes, and then he clears his throat.

“I'm not usually this… self-sacrificing, with the others, either,” Ace settles on. 

Jake stares at Ace's face, into his eyes that he knows are looking up at him through the shades. At some point, they've stopped walking, just standing in the emptiness together. Waiting.

“I wanna kiss you,” Jake says. He doesn't mean to think out loud, but when Ace's mouth quirks up into a smile, a real smile, he can't help but copy the action. He doesn't know which of them closes the distance first, all he knows is he has this arrogant and snarky and wonderful man in his arms that's kissing him with months—years?—worth of pent-up emotions. Fuck, why didn't he do this sooner? 

He runs a hand through Ace's hair, dislodging the baseball cap, while Ace's hand cups his cheek and the other grabs the collar of his jacket. Jake wraps an arm around Ace's waist, pulling him closer, and the man moans into the kiss and parts his lips. Jake wastes no time deepening the kiss, licking into Ace's mouth and groaning as their tongues tangle together. Shit, maybe Bill was right, maybe they should just fuck—

“AHEM,” a loud clearing of a throat snaps Jake out of it, and they're both pulling apart and gasping for air. God, Ace looks good when he's breathless and flushed and his lips glisten wetly—

Ace looks to the side and his mouth opens in shock. Jake follows his gaze and freezes; they're in the middle of camp, and the rest of the survivors are staring at them.

“Sorry for interrupting,” Jane says. “But maybe this isn't the place.” “I, uh, see, we—err,” Ace flounders. Jake couldn't really care less about what the others think, but he glances around for shits and giggles while Ace tries to come up with an explanation to Jane.

Dwight, predictably, has gone beet red, and Claudette's not faring much better. Meg's face is scrunched up in confusion, while Nea merely rolls her eyes.

“What the fuck,” Jake hears Yui mutter and whips around to glare at her. “Told ya," Bill says around his cigarette.

Meanwhile, Feng has started making exaggerated gagging noises.

“Nobody forced you to watch," Jake deadpans, rolling his eyes as he starts walking out of the camp. “You coming?” he offers to Ace.

The man jumps a little from surprise, glancing around at the others. Some are clearly holding back snickers.

“Uh, sure!” Ace apparently makes up his mind, trailing after him, and now at least David definitely chuckles.

Jake grabs Ace's hand, to which the other looks up at him and blushes, and Jake offers him an encouraging smile before throwing the finger over his shoulder at David and the others, which earns him a proud guffaw from Bill.

“Well, at least now we know what happens if one lingers after the trial,” Ace quips when they’re out of earshot from the camp. Jake hums in agreement, a little annoyed at having been teleported into the middle of camp and cutting their make-out session short. “Jake, uh… you’re still holding my hand,” Ace nervously jokes.

“Yup,” Jake says, popping the p and squeezing Ace’s hand for good measure. 

He looks around the vaguely familiar forest; he could have sworn it was somewhere around here…

“Just… letting you know,” Ace mumbles with a small grin, not making any move to dislodge his hand from Jake’s, obediently following his lead. Jake finally spots the scenery he was looking for, reluctantly letting Ace’s hand fall from his as he pushes through the last of the shrubbery and holds some branches out of the way for Ace to follow.

“Oh… wow,” Ace comments, taking in the large oak tree, its low-hanging branches making for the perfect illusion of privacy. He follows Jake into the middle of it, the moonlight flowing through the leaves and the grass rustling against their shoes as they walk. “Nice find.”

“Thanks,” Jake comments and flops down to lay in the soft grass, adjusting his halo to not dig into the back of his head while staring up at the majestic tree. Ace hesitates for a heartbeat, before sitting down next to him. The gambler grimaces a little bit, probably due to the dampness seeping into his clothes from the grass. Jake has learned not to care, since it’s not like they ever get cold in the realm.

“So… what do you want to do?” Ace asks after a moments silence, adjusting and re-adjusting the cuffs of his jacket nervously.

“I was hoping to pick up where we left off,” Jake admits, looking up at Ace’s curious face, and doesn’t miss the twitch in the corner of the other’s lips at the confession. “But we can just hang out too.”

Ace clears his throat, before reaching to remove his sunglasses, neatly folding them and placing them to the side. “I vote option A,” he says, no longer able to resist the smirk tugging at his lips.

Jake responds with a grin of his own, leaning up while Ace bends down, meeting him in the middle as their lips find each other again.

You know,,,being a black kpop stan has always come with a bit of hesitancy. Much of the popular genres of music today were created by black people or have been heavily influenced by us. Kpop is no exception. Kpop artists profit off of my culture, using it as an aesthetic and borrowing the sounds of black artists to express themselves. As a black person that listens to kpop I’ve been subjected to various instances where idols disrespect my culture. Which is why I’m so upset and conflicted. 

I love Bts dearly. They have helped me through so many rough times. I’ve watched them grow into the artists they are today, conversely, they have (in a way) watched me grow into the person I am today. As such I feel strongly tied to them. Since getting into kpop Bts have been that group for me. My “forever” group as I referred to them as, because I could perfectly picture myself stanning them for the rest of my life. But in light of recent events I have had to deeply reconsider my morals and how far I’m willing to stretch myself. 

As kpop idols Bts profit off of my culture. From their sound to their fashion choices. As an ARMY we’ve all seen or at least heard of the various CA issues Bts have faced and though they appeared to have grown from them, they went through them nonetheless. Yet I stuck by them. Why? Because they were growing and learning from those mistakes. But when the culture they rely for their musical sound is under attack, they are silent. Nowhere to be found. How am I supposed to feel knowing that they profit off of my culture yet when people that look like me are dying in the streets, they are silent? 

I’ve seen countless think pieces (specifically on twitter) about how Bts are probably (1) being silenced by BigHit, (2) are korean and have no way of knowing what’s going on in America, (3) are not obligated to speak on everything, (4) could possibly be donating silently, (5) they just aren’t political like that, and/or (6) may not be speaking up because they’ve gotten hate for it before. 

1. They’re grown men and I refuse to coddle them. They are BigHit’s primary source of income, so even if they went against the company’s wishes I doubt they’d be severely reprimanded. 

2. KBS was reporting on the protests and riots. I have no doubt in my mind that they’ve seen the news reports. This point is also considered irrelevant when you consider that so far Japan, London, and Germany have participated in protests to show solidarity. 

3. If they are willing to accept the title of UN speakers, UNICEF ambassadors, and countless calls of them being the voice of our generation then they can speak out on this. The platform they have is thanks to us, the fans. And that’s just the truth. No matter how talented they or or how rich the company, without a dedicated fanbase they wouldn’t be where they are. 

4. This is not the time to move in silence. I know how BigHIt/Bts like to do things quietly. I’m well aware but this is not about charity. My black life is not a charity event. The lives of other black people are not charities meant to be donated to. This is real life and as a group that profits off my culture I expect them to be loud about it supporting it. 

5. This is just blatantly false. Bts have made countless songs with political themes or with political lyrics. Namjoon collaborated with Wale, an African American artist, to create a song with lyrics about black people dying at the hands of the police. 

6. Irrelevant. If they are suddenly worried about what everyone will think about them, especially when it really matters, then I have chosen to stan the wrong group. If they’re worried about “fans” critiquing them for supporting BLM then they’re worried about the wrong people. Why would they care about people that don’t appear to align with their very basic beliefs? 

Other reasons I’ve seen is because they aren’t Korean American but artists like Crush, Yeri (from Red Velvet), 2z (a krock group), Momoland (Ahin, Jooe, and Nancy specifically), Former 2NE1 members Minzy and CL, Jiwwo (KARD), DPR Live, Loco, Ravi (VIXX), H1GHER Music (as a collective), Zion.T and so many more... this isn’t just a Black American issue either. Racism against black people is a worldwide issue. 

TL;DR Bts profit off of my culture and so I expect them to be just as loud about supporting it. I don’t think it’s selfish to expect them to say anything/donate/show solidarity in general

If I were to be completely honest, I wasn't into BTS when they first debuted but started getting into them when they released Boys In Luv but kind of drifted away from them a bit when their fame skyrocketed. I kind of have two sides to this as well, with a personal view and one thought of through economics. 

DISCLAIMER: I still really like BTS, i'm just not into them as much as I used to or follow them as much anymore. Also, so I don't get attacked to this I am just speaking from my perspective of things and I think they ALL are very talented and deserve everything with their hard-work.

For me, it was very strange with BTS ... it was as if they were just a regular popular group in south korea but it was like they caught a lucky break overnight and people began noticing them. I also thought about that in a way as well (again, I am not denying that they don't deserve their fame, they are very talented) but there were also many other groups that I feel either appealed to international countries or could of had a break other than BTS if they had done so at the right time. Now, since I don't follow-follow them right at the peak of their fame I am not 100% certain but this is just from a fan who is a casual follower from time to time. I not knowledgeable and not even sure if this is a credible answer because i'm not totally sure how to answer it. The one thing i'm afraid of is that after their fame dies down the media will just treat them as a part of history and won't find them relevant anymore when someone/another group comes into the spotlight. I really do think that with their hard break they peaked during a lucky period of their career.

Today's society is also in a very different time in history where social media is a really big part of influencing and bringing in income. There are many artists who I have seen bring a lot of income to the country through partnership with the ministry of culture, sports and tourism ... if I am not wrong they have a specific department for promoting the globalization of kpop. Maybe with the initial peak of BTS's fame the country took full advantage of that. I feel that youtube also contributed to this a lot and the country took advantage of the growing platform to reach fans. Hallyu has been called a ‘cultural weapon’ in North Korea and I think even reaching there it is influencing them with surprising effects, like adopting certain ways and/or slang. You can also contribute pairing their idols with automobiles and technological advances in general. I think a lot of it is utilizing something that is big and pushing it forward as a way to pull in more money because they see the advantage of doing certain things.

It’s 3am and I have to be up at 6:30am so that means I’m wasting my time with stranger things 3 theories

Okay so I wanted to talk about the timeline first:

It’s the summer of 85 which means only 7 months have passed since we last saw the gang.

It’s obviously taking place around Fourth of July, as stated by the New Mayor, who I think we can all agree on is suspicious.

More than likely Fourth of July takes place during the episode “the birthday” because Hawkins community pool has a sign up that says:

the episodes seem to take place over the course of a few days with the episodes picking up right where the last left off which probably means the final battle is happening on Fourth of July or the day after.

I have a feeling that it all starts going to hell in a hand basket around the time everyone goes to the fair, especially because we see these guys:

Moving on to the last episode: the battle of starcourt

Based on how exhausted El looks and how beat up Steve looks it’s safe to assume that this is a scene after the final battle.

Joyce and Hopper are no where to be seen in this shot which makes me think that they did not all go to the mall together to fight, hell it looks like Steven and Robin just got off work (seriously tho will we ever see Steve in anything besides his work uniform this season?).

They also don’t look terribly frightened which makes me believe that they are not looking at anything scary. I saw a theory on here by @zerodoubleone that it was probably the military coming in.

I found some bts images on the strangerthingsfliming Instagram and came to the conclusion that these images take place after the big battle and are when Joyce and Will reunite: (I circled will because it’s kinda hard to find him he’s a little blurry lol)

There’s another photo which has Murry in it! I’m curious to see if Nancy and Jonathan have been in touch with him or if he found them, or if the government found him and brought him along.

I also want to talk about this one photo I found which looks like Billy’s car is parked outside the mall and what looks like his windshield is smashed.

Maybe Billy was driving to the mall and got into a car cash? Wouldn’t be too surprising considering the way he drives. I’m not sure who’s yellow car that is so if you know let me know!

Billy is seen in the trailer with a nasty infection on his arm, which makes us believe that he was infected by something from the upside down. one of the episodes is called “the mall rats” and then another one is called “the bite” and rats are unfortunately known for carrying nasty diseases. I’m not saying Billy gets bitten by an Rat from the upside down and then gets turned into a monster but it’s worth looking into 🤷🏼‍♀️

My theory is that “the mall rats” episode has nothing to do with actual rats and just has to deal with the town opening the mall, which is loved by teens and hated by the older generation who’s jobs are being threatened by Starcourt.

There’s a bts photo where the shooting location is at “Hawkins town hall” which probably is having a town meeting about the mall right before it opens.

2. Cooking headcanon

Jonathan “Breakfast Boy” Byers is the better cook, having cooked for his family for years. I go a little bit back and forth on Nancy, I don’t think cooking would be something she’s particularly into, her mom is always in the kitchen and maybe she might’ve had a phase when she was little where she liked to help out in the kitchen but think she outgrew that and so isn’t used to cook much at home, though she’s not an idiot of course and knows her way around a kitchen she’s not a spectacular cook. She might like baking more? Since that’s a bit more precise and exact “science”, you can follow a recipe exactly while cooking you generally wing it more, and I can see Nancy liking to do things like that, exact and precise. I think Jonathan likes cooking more than Nancy does and therefore is the one to cook more often, but also Nancy enjoys cooking with Jonathan more than on her own.

3. Sleeping headcanon

Jonathan Byers is the comfiest pillow in the world. That’s what Nancy firmly believes, I believe. We see in s1 Jonathan turn onto his side/tummy when sleeping. My hc for their sleeping position together is not set in stone, I lean towards Jonathan sleeping on his back but kind of turned towards his side and Nancy sleeping with her head tucked into the crook of his neck or on his chest, her arm slung across him holding him and his wrapped around her, I like them nestled close like that, at least in times of comfort. Can also see them both like sleeping on their side, heads turned to each other and like as close together as they can be without actually being on top of one another, and limbs all entangled. Can also see them spooning.

4. Driving headcanon

Jury’s still out on whether Nancy has her license or not. I hc that she does but that she prefers letting Jonathan drive, she feels completely safe with him at the wheel and he’s had more driving experience while she’s a bit unsure perhaps. Kind of feel like driver’s ed could’ve been a thing Nancy struggled with, which I kind of like? Like with her straight A’s in school and studious smart mind can kind of see her having a weak spot like that, and her problem not being to learn traffic rules or anything like that but rather speeding and being to antsy a driver. I hc like with cooking that this is a thing where it’s something they both can do but Jonathan is a bit better at it and also likes to do it more than Nancy does and so she’s happy to let him take the wheel.

Another kind of moot to answer (guess these are more aimed for literary characters) we know of Nancy’s ballet necklace and Jonathan not wearing any. Like I wrote into my Christmas fic I can see Nancy getting Jonathan some cool slightly unusual necklace that’s very much him, like something music related. And thinking he looks super cool in it (like Charlie who wears necklaces very well).

At each other? No. Apart from the fight in the woods and getting huffy over their pent up feelings in the motel room they’re sweetie pies to each other all the time. They have playful banter but it’s not meanspirited in the slightest. I think what would infuriate Nancy the most about Jonathan would be if he kept putting himself and his own needs last, always prioritizing taking care of others above himself. But she wouldn’t get angry at him for it because it’s not something to have anger about, but she’d try to make him see it’s okay to think about himself too. Sure they’d have a fight eventually like all couples but they don’t walk around are meanspirited and angry at each other all the time. And on the other side of the coin, quickest way to poke Nancy or Jonathan’s berserk button is of course to endanger the ones they love. Jonathan beats the shit out of Steve in the alley because of what Steve spews out about Will and Joyce, but with where his and Nancy’s relationship is now, insulting Nancy like that would provoke the same reaction.

Music. They overlap more than some might think. We’ve gotten a lot in canon on Jonathan’s music taste (The Clash, Bowie, Joy Division, Television, Talking Heads, The Smiths) gives a pretty clear picture. For Nancy we have the Blondie thing on her wall and Africa by Toto playing in her room in s1 (as I recall it was diegetic music at least? Right?). I hc that Nancy listens to pop, would love Madonna for instance, but also likes new wave and stuff like it and I think Jonathan with his tastes would like new wave too so they’d meet there and I hc Nancy liking Bowie too. She broadens her tastes a little through Jonathan (what did they listen to in the car on the way to Murray?) and she likewise influences him, getting him to open up a bit more to some more poppier stuff (at first tolerating it in his car then discreetly bopping along and finally admitting he likes some of it). And ofc she loves to tease him like she did in the hallway scene and Sassy Boy Byers teases her right back.

I have that sense of foreboding I always get this time of year when the CtM press releases start to appear and speculation goes into overdrive. Sometimes justified, often not.

I try to avoid the obvious spoiler under the line, but it's a long time until Christmas.

No offense to Ms Gethings, but I'm hoping this is another Magda/ Kevin. We all get excited about a new character that the Turners see off in 2 episodes.

Fenella Woolgar's absence in the media and in bts footage has been noted and is causing concern. According to her wiki page, she is currently filming another series. So as a wise woman once said, We Shall See.

Part of the magic of CtM for me has always been the generational mix. My favourite friendship was between Phyllis and Barbara. There has always been that balance of youth and maturity. That focus on the 3 or 4 eager young midwives tempered under the gaze of the more experienced nuns later joined by Nurse Crane.

I think the show has lost that reassuring balance. Lucille is now married and Trixie is who knows? (Yes, I think we all do) That leaves Nancy, who spends most of the time being patronised. Her only peer group pal is Sister Frances, who is funny, engaging and a valuable character, but not really someone who reflects the swinging sixties or early 70s.

There seemed to be a few series where it was all nurses and no nuns. Now we are no nurses and all nuns. As someone aged somewhere between Trixie /Shelagh and Sister Hilda/Phyllis, I would like to see more Nancys.

Will’s fear of clowns

Hi! It’s me, Lonnie Meth Anon. Back with more depressing thoughts about Lonnie!

I just read your post on Jonathan’s ab*se at the hands of Lonnie, and I second it all. It breaks my heart. But it also got me thinking deeper about Will’s fear of clowns. I think you’re right that part of the horror for Will is that the clown attacks in bed. The bed is, obviously, like you say, a common site for s*xual assault. (Doesn’t El’s picture of “three legged Brenner” also have a bed in it? In a picture with not much else?) The fact that Will needed Joyce to sleep with him for a week suggests he was specifically feeling unsafe in bed, or at night. 

But maybe it’s not just the location of the attack in Poltergeist that Will found so harrowing. Maybe it’s the combination of that location with the fact of a clown being the attacker. 

I think Lonnie might have dressed up as a clown for Will’s birthday one year, and something happened. 

In this instance, I don’t think Joyce would know what happened. I think the incident in her mind would be something like “Lonnie dressed up and Will was scared of the costume”. She might even have thought it was cute. Just a typical little kid fear of something mundane. When she teases him about Poltergeist, she doesn’t actually say the movie was the START of his fear of clowns. Just that he was afraid of that particular clown. The general fear of clowns could have been an older one, going back to when Will was even younger.

Maybe Will even liked clowns, before whatever happened with Lonnie turned them into a source of fear for him. Will has a lion plushie (lions are commonly found in the circus) and the circus seems like the kind of vibrant, colorful environment full of outcast, that a young gay kid would really enjoy. If Will did like circuses and Lonnie poisoned that for him, that’s just another reason to hate Lonnie. But it definitely seems possible. 

Lonnie is a deadbeat dad in general, but we’ve seen before that he’s capable of faking the “family man” act in front of Joyce and their neighbors. We’ve also seen that even though he treats Will horribly, he would also try and keep Will on his side with father son bonding activities, like baseball. And Will’s birthday is one of the few occasions Lonnie makes a half-assed kind of effort, even when there’s nothing directly in it for him. He sends that card, even though it’s late. Maybe Joyce made called him up and made him send it, but she always seemed happy to keep Lonnie out of the picture. She didn’t even want to involve him when Will went missing. And we know Jonathan would never try and facilitate more interactions between Lonnie and Will. So it seems like Lonnie did this of his own accord, when he realized he’d missed the day. Kind of weird. And it’s classic abuser behavior, to make contact on an anniversary date, reminding you they exist and you can’t escape them. Reminding you to keep quiet. Or hoping you’ll miss them, remember the “good times” when they made an effort, and let them back into your life. (Ugh.)

So, anyway, back to my theory. Young Will likes circuses, and the Byers family are poor, so they can’t afford to take him to one, or throw him a party at an ice cream parlor or a bowling alley, like other kids. It makes sense that they would have a party at home instead, and that the family themselves might dress up. We know Joyce made Will’s Ghostbusters costume in season two, and a clown is a pretty easy costume. Most of it is just make up. It’s possible the whole thing was Joyce’s idea, and she made the costume, and Lonnie just went along with it to look like a good dad in her eyes. 

Remember how we see Bob (Will’s new father figure) dressing up in costume for Halloween? Joyce loves it. This is a thing good dads do, to have fun with their kids. That’s also the same episode we see Will scared by a guy in a clown costume, and Jonathan is hyper-protective of him that night. School is okay, but he doesn’t want him trick or treating. (Like he knows that school is a safe environment, but in other contexts, costumes and parties might be a trigger for Will.) Jonathan is convinced to leave Will and “let him have fun” and what happens? The clown attacks. Later that night Jonathan goes to a costume party himself, where he finds Nancy upset and takes her safely home.  Maybe this is how Will’s birthday party ended - with Jonathan finding Will upset, and trying to comfort him. The whole night could be playing out like a parallel to that birthday party, from Jonathan’s perspective. 

What actually happened with Will and Lonnie is up for debate. It’s possible there was a s*xual assault, and that’s why the clown scene in Poltergeist was such a trigger for Will. Or maybe Lonnie thought circuses weren’t “manly” enough for his son to like, and actively tried to scare Will, so he wouldn’t like them anymore. It’s hard to know. Something would have happened though, and probably something pretty formative, because the fear of clowns lasts a long time. 

Something else interesting is that when Mr Clarke is talking about the Upside Down in season one, he uses the metaphor of the flea and the acrobat. Acrobats are a main act in the circus, and, well … fleas. Flea circuses. That’s a thing. Maybe it’s a hint that the trauma that created the Upside Down was circus / clown - related?

Kali, El, and their gang wear clown masks too, when they’re going to confront their childhood trauma, and the child-like Alexei is surrounded by clowns when he is killed at the fair. 

Clowns are just so associated with birthday parties and little kids, that it doesn’t seem like a coincidence to me they’re Will’s biggest fear. Especially as the show keeps dropping hints about Lonnie and Will’s birthday. It feels like there’s more to the story. I have a horrible feeling SOMETHING happened.

I think it’s very possible-that maybe he did dress as a clown for Will’s birthday and something happened. We have alexi (paralleled to Will) playing carnival games with kids. Then he's attacked by the Lonnie-look alike : and alexi looks at his wound then stares at all the clowns laughing around him. Joyce and Murray find Alexi bleeding/dy*ng next to a clown statue. As joyce looks in horror and Murray says to her, he was “only gone for a second” (which sounds like something you’d say in relation to a kid you were supposed to watch-running off ). We also had sarah at age 7 die while wearing a gown with clowns on it (Will: it was a 7 the demogorgan it got me). Death of innocence symbolism? Hopper also describes his depression as a cave- he goes through the carnival ride where it mentions a "cave of horrors", which had decor of a tiger and a clown painting. So yeah... whatever happened probably isn't good. So- there may be some symbolism there in relation to Will’s past. Not only because (like I and you have mentioned before) Lonnie is highly associated with birthdays. And canonically we know he mentally scarred jonathan on his b-day. But also, s4’s ‘victor creel’ may be an easteregg to the xmen character victor creed- who had a tradition of tra*matizing family members specifically on their bdays

As another alternative:I could also totally see Lonnie “ruining” circuses for Will because it’s not “manly” to him. Like how Jonathan liked thumper the rabbit-from the film bambi. in the film, Thumper is bambi’s bff, and the hunters are the bad guys who k*ll Bambi’s mother and terrorize all the wildlife. SO yeah- making Jonathan become a hunter, and k*ll a rabbit ,despite this fact, is really messed up. And shows Lonnie has already tried to ‘ruin’ things the boys like. By mentally scarring them in one way or another…

if the s4 bts calender hinting it’ll be near Will’s bday and easter it could be relevant to Jonathan.we know in s1 el has tra*matic flashbacks when seeing certain things- coke, closet, cat, etc. And Will in s2 has his ‘anniversary effect’ where memories flood back based on the time of year.But like … Easter has bunnies - could seeing rabbits jog stuff up for Jonathan? El seeing a cat made her have a flashback of brenner trying to make her kill a cat. Would Jonathan seeing like Easter bunny decor jog up a flashback of lonnie making him kill a rabbit? (It happened on his bday too). So Will’s b day being around easter would only fuel that memory. (heck even popped balloons may trigger gunshot symbolism idk). And then for Will there is clowns that could be a tr*gger at a party.

The flea and the acrobat analogy (in relation to Will and circuses is very interesting) and could be foreshadowing- it’s even a title for an episode so I feel like it’s narratively an important hint to …something. similar to a s1 ep being called “the bathtub”.  Also, Will was compared to a circus flea- which were placed in an enclosed space, where heat was applied as they jumped  and tried to escape the increasing temperatures as they burned .Which could relate to my theory about Will having a se*zure due his body overheating due to Lonnie injecting him with m*th.

 If Will’s bday is in s4- I feel like Lonnie will come back in some capacity (flashback or literally). The ‘sorry, I forgot you b day’ card from Lonnie in s2, in Lonnie’s shed Joyce mentioning Will’s b day, the rainbow ‘happy birthday cup’ placed next to Will at Mike’s -while Will explains the supernatural, Lonnie already tra*matizing Jonathan on his bday, etc…
