Damian: Is it true you are having a baby?
Bruce: Yes, you'll be a big brother in seven months.
Damian: Have you chosen a name for the child? If not, may I suggest Timothy?
Tim: Aw, you want the baby named after me?
Damian: No, I want a Timothy that is not a failure. This child will bring honor to the name. You shall henceforth be known as Nameless.
Bruce: Damian, you can not take away Tim's name. Besides your baby brother's name has already been decided. He will be Daniel Wayne.
Tim: I'll call him Danny for short.
Damian: Silence , Nameless, you will not disrespect my brother's honor with childish nicknames. Daniel is a powerful name, and he will be known as only thus.
Tim: Why am I still Nameless!? The baby is going to be Danny!
Damian: You know why.

so for a while i've been kind of idly wondering What Actually Happened With Eodio Anyway
because when Thistle whaps his soul out of his body, it's pretty clearly intended to be a temporary timeout - cool your head, cool your temper, etc, he's obviously not intending for it to be permanent
but obviously it was, because Eodio's empty body just. sits there. until eventually Delgal takes it over and uses it to escape to the surface. (haunting to imagine Yaad growing up having family dinners where 'his parents' consist of his mother and His Father's Empty Soulless Husk, also)
so what happened? did Thistle just forget? did he decide he didn't want to? did Eodio wander off and Thistle couldn't find his soul? once he'd separated soul from body, did Thistle realize he didn't know how to put Eodio back?
well, this may have been obvious, but i found my answer!
THIS is the very next page, and you can see that in the middle there, the lion licks Thistle's hand
so what if Thistle was thinking something like, "ugh, and i have to put Eodio back sometime soon" in that moment, and then when the lion had his little lick, had just schlurped that right out, and that's what Thistle feels like he's forgetting at the end there?

Mushy May Day 20
Gardening
Pairing; Mountain/Swiss
Notes; bit of a shorty today, also based off of a video i saw many moons ago about the same problem. do not paint or put glitter on plants! it is sad and takes away their natural beauty. thanks as always to @forlorn-crows for putting together the prompts list!
Swiss was stuck to Mountain’s side since his summoning. Wherever the earth ghoul went, Swiss was a foot behind. He wasn’t as quiet or as stoic some of the siblings thought he was. He had his moments, sure, but the ghoul was cocky and full of emotion, never without it. He was a constant tease, too; holding items away from Dewdrop and cackling while the fire ghoul was steaming out of his old gills and ears, tapping Aether with his tail multiple times and acting oblivious when Aether became flustered, unaware of who was trying to talk to him (“is one of the girls around?”). Spooking poor Cumulus every morning when she made her tea.
But Swiss did love when he was focused, when he was actually stoic. It was incredibly hot.
Swiss barged into the greenhouse after his chores were complete, ready to be next to the earthly giant again after being away from him for so long. He stopped himself from yelling just in time, Mountain hunched over at his workbench with a neon pink plant in his hands. Swiss stalked over and his head began to slowly tilt to get a better look at the plant. It seemed to be one of the succulents from a small section of his garden, but… pinker.
His eyes didn’t stay focused on it long, though, immediately going back to watching Mountain’s face. It was as if he didn’t hear Swiss enter, which was likely. His brows were pinched together in concentration, lips parted just enough for his tongue to poke through. He was breathing deeply, a sense of calmness in his face despite the pinch in his eyes and brows. Ultra focused; incredibly hot.
Swiss stood at the workbench and Mountain didn’t look up. He had a towel in hand, wiping away what seemed to be pink paint off the plant. It looked brittle, from his perspective.
The earth ghoul hummed lowly, enough of an assurance that he was aware of Swiss’ presence. Swiss grinned.
“What happened to that poor soul?” Swiss leaned against the table with his elbows, head placed into his open palm.
Mountain took in a deep breath as he straightened up, back popping in a couple different spots. He let out a heavy sigh.
“One of the siblings found this at a department store.” Mountain grimaced down at the plant, his eyes still not meeting Swiss’. "It can't soak up the sun with all this paint on it, so they brought it to me to fix it."
Swiss scoffed. “Why’d they do that? ‘S ugly as shit.”
“I know.” Mountain put the towel down. “I’m trying to get this shit off before I use my magic,” he waved his hand around for dramatics, “but it’s being as stubborn as an ass.”
“That sounds like something the Cardinal would say.” Swiss chuckled
Mountain tilted his head sideways, eyes finally looking at Swiss, and smiled. “Guess I’ve been hanging around the guy too much.”
Swiss returned the smile with his toothy grin. “Need any help with that?”
Mountain glanced back at the plant, eyes sad but determined. “I think some warm water would help ease the paint off, if you could grab that.”
“Okay.” Swiss stood up with a stretch of his arms. “Anything else?”
Mountain shrugged with one shoulder and looked back at the multi ghoul with an almost shy smile. “Your company is always welcome.”
Swiss’ grin grew wider, showing off his full fangs. “You got it, juniper.”

Okay so what's the deal with the Art of the Quickening being named That? Bloodborne has a lot of birth related metaphors and such but why is Quickstepping called that???
So for anyone who doesn't know, "quickening" is an old timey term for the moment when a fetus in the womb starts to move and the mother begins to feel it. Historically, this is when it was believed the soul of a person was enshrined in the body. This term has largely fell out of fashion.
Now this isn't what it's used for in Bloodborne obviously. The Art of the Quickening means to move the Hunter quick in-and-out for rapid kills in the Olden days when speed and efficiency were the Modus Operandi of the Hunt. Several hunters use this most of which are found within the Nightmare (other than Gehrman) but idk. There's something to be said that the main Actual Named Users (Gehrman and Maria) occupy similar roles in their respect Dreams/Nightmares with relation to the Great Ones there, and how they both raise their hands in the "Make Contact" gesture upon death. Maria is abandoned (I mean, she was just a Tool really, the Main Living Failure) but the Nameless Moon Presence seems to "hear" Gehrman's call and responds according to what the Hunter has done prior to the battle (she also abandons him, but for different reasons here). Idk there's something connecting the two here and I'm metaphorically spinning my pen in my hands trying to pierce together what though.

Now that Star Wars: The Acolyte is on our screens, you might be interested in some further reading to discover more about the High Republic era the show takes place in.
I might be a little biased, seeing as I provided art direction and project management on it, but I would recommend The High Republic Character Encylopedia, for the job as it's crammed full of fan favourites from the books, comics, games and shows already available in this time period of the galaxy far far away and a great way to see where it all started!
