You know that I love you // So let me into your heart
— movie nights Movies in general used to be boring for them. You sit down for 2 hours and then what? There were other forms of entertainment out there and they preferred that. However, once you invited them to watch a movie one night, they couldn't refuse. They sat down, albeit reluctantly, and found that the movie was only slightly interesting. But they did like how you cuddled with them under a blanket and how you would comment every minute on what was happening on screen. Movies are still unamusing, but you were more than enough to keep them awake.
Bachira, Barou, Otoya, Hiori, Sendou, Lorenzo, Nagi ❤︎
— public displays of affection It was cringey when they first thought about it. Wouldn't people judge you for being so touchy and lovey-dovey out in broad daylight? But then you started holding their arm while navigating through crowded places. It was fine; they wouldn't want you getting lost anyway. As time went on, they just found themselves reaching out to you on their own. They'll just surprise themselves one day that their arm's already around your waist or that they're already kissing your forehead when they see some other guy looking at you too much.
Barou, Chigiri, Rin, Sae, Karasu, Kaiser, Raichi, Kiyora ❤︎
— terms of endearment They found it a bit childish as if only younger couples were doing that. You had a name, they had a name—what's the point of coming up with something else to call out each other? As much as they tried, the petnames never rolled off their tongue well. It always left a weird aftertaste. But his whole outlook changed when he heard you utter it accidentally. As you apologized for the slip of the tongue, he was internally malfunctioning from how adorable and heartwarming it felt to be called by something other than their given name.
Nagi, Karasu, Barou, Ness, Kurona, Gagamaru, Niko ❤︎
Sleeping with the moon and the stars // I know where you've been
— tit fucking Sure, they understood the appeal. But why waste time on that when perfectly good pussy was right in front of them? Hell, even your mouth would do more wonders. But you like to surprise them—keep them on their toes and such. So after sucking him off, you thought it would be a great idea to put his aching cock between your breasts. He was annoyed by it at first, but soon as he felt the softness and silkiness of your flesh—he was smitten. It was a sensation never felt before and now... he craves for it.
Isagi, Kunigami, Rin, Oliver, Sae, Gagamaru, Raichi ❤︎
— dirty talk Truth be told, they're just really shy. They can't fathom the idea of spilling out such filthy words and hearing it for themselves. But there came a time when he couldn't help but blurt out the dirty thoughts running through his mind. It caused your pussy to wantonly clench down on him and it sent him to heaven. Maybe, just maybe, he'd consider throwing away his pride for a moment if it meant experiencing that feeling once more. Oh, but if you're doing the dirty talk, then he's all ears.
Isagi, Nagi, Reo, Karasu, Yukimiya, Hiori ❤︎
— pussy eating Before meeting you, they were fully convinced that they were a receiver through and through. Nothing beats a blowjob after a particularly stressful day. Or so they thought. But why was it oddly liberating to lap up your pussy like there was no tomorrow? They found it strange that this was somehow more arousing than receiving. They experience a reluctant change of heart. They're not ready to admit that maybe they're more of a giver... he'll settle on being a switch for now.
Bachira, Nagi, Rin, Otoya, Oliver, Kaiser, Lorenzo ❤︎

unforgiven 🏹 b.sk (teaser)

🏹 genre: greek god au ; second chance romance au ; angst ; fluff ; eventual smut ; sort of former enemies/rivals to lovers.
🏹 pairing: athena!boo seungkwan x reincarnated arachne!fem!reader | side pairing: eros!kim mingyu x psyche!chou tzuyu (twice) | side characters: zeus!choi seungcheol ; hades!yoon jeonghan ; hephaestus!jeon wonwoo ; hermes!vernon chwe ; eris!lee saerom (fromis_9) ; more to come.
🏹 word count: 1.6k | full fic: tba!
🏹 rating: 18+. minors do not interact.
🏹 warnings: nudity (and it's normalized so just...deal with it), seungkwan has a lot of guilt and things weighing on him. pet names (angel, threadling, etc.,) i think that's it for the teaser. the full fic is a fucking wreck.
🏹 what to listen to: run away - tzuyu ; cinnamon girl - lana del rey ; take me back to eden - sleep token ; more to come.
🏹 a/n: hey everyone! i'm back...lol. i hope to have this out before november, so just keep your eyes peeled!
IV.
Somehow, Seungkwan was on the other side of the bed.
You were nestled into his naked torso, your lips pouted against his neck. Your hair was a mess around you, your leg flung over his waist as you slept soundly. He rolls his eyes, wondering how to get out of the position without waking you. It's barely dawn, he likes some time to himself before dealing with the mortals that are honestly the bane of his existence.
He gently wraps his fingers around your knee, moving you off his body with precision. He'd never let any of the other mortals sleep in his bed, much less with him, but he knows it's the guilt from killing you off years ago. Unfortunately, Seungkwan is far too aware of his wrongs. In the past, he'd gotten scolded by several of his peers due to his harsh nature. He and Vernon got drunk over an aged wine a few years after your disappearance and Seungkwan admitted he'd jumped the gun on punishment.
What he didn't know was that Vernon spoke to Seungcheol about it, who then spoke to Jeonghan about it. That's how they came up with sending you back to Seungkwan for your last chance at life, maybe you could right your wrongs with each other. You both struggle with pride and yearn to be perfect, never wanting to admit when you're wrong.
But you were human, you knew you couldn't be perfect. You had a softer heart, not having seen the things Seungkwan had seen or lived the life he'd known. Seungkwan had built his walls up nice and high, and rarely let anyone in to take a peek. You in his bed was something he'd never allow if you were just anyone.
He knows it's also his attraction for you coming to the surface. It didn't take a genius to realize that it was this he'd been looking for in every lover he'd ever tried to have – your witty remarks, your obvious disinterest in him or his skills as a god. You weren't looking at him as some being worth worshiping, but someone who needed to be loved, to be held together and forgiven – despite resenting him.
He knows you can't possibly know how much his past decisions weigh on him, but it is scary to think that you can sense something about him. You know something, something that makes him feel uneasy, and it's what's inside. You know his pain, his truth, his heart.
Sighing, he softly rolls you onto your back, covering your bare body with the duvet. It's only half true, what he said about your body – he's amazed at every curve and dimple, he wants to run his hands all over you until the end of time. He likes the way your hips swing as you walk, the bounce in your step and how soft your cheeks are. How soft you are.
What kind of god is he if he gives into his desires? If he sinks his teeth into you like a cat catching a mouse, if he lets you teeter him around like a puppet for just a taste of you? What kind of god is he if he lusts after you when he knows getting involved with mortals won't end well for him, especially when he knows the moment you sink your claws into him, he'd be a goner? Not much of a god then, is he? "Don't go." You murmur, eyes still closed and brows scrunched as you touch his wrist. He jolts slightly, but moves to pull away anyway. "I have to. I need to make your clothes." He whispers back, the sun beginning to peek in through the open window.
Pouting, you pull him closer. "Just a little longer." "The sky's awake, angel. I have to be up." He works your fingers off his wrist, splaying your hand across his pillow. "I'm still in the room, I'm not going anywhere." This seems to be enough for you, as he grabs the robe you wore the night before and shrugs it on. He wipes at his eyes carefully, stretching before he slides off the bed. He tucks the corner of the duvet under the pillow, watching your fingers grasp at the pillowcase.
He moves around quietly, gathering the linens he'd pinned for you the night before. He sits at his desk, opening his drawer to get his glasses out and prepares needle and thread. Glancing up, he sees you pouting still, burying your face into his pillow with a sigh – and feels a twinge in his chest.
Zeroing back in, he quietly sews the linen as the sun rises slowly. You toss and turn, frustrated sounds coming from the direction of his bed enticing him to look over – but he doesn't. It's not until he accidentally pricks his finger with a pin that he notices you've gotten up and are settling on the floor next to his chair.
"What are you doing, threadling?" He asks, almost as if he doesn't really care what you're doing.
"Can't sleep." You mutter, reaching your fingers out to touch his ankle as you lay down, wrapping yourself like a burrito in the blanket. He peers down at you, seeing the way your fingers ghost over his skin when he sighs, pushing his chair back carefully.
"Alright, come on. Get up."
You groan up at him, feeling him move away from your fingertips as you sit up. "What?" He doesn't respond, choosing to walk away from you and sink back into the bed. He huffs a bit, trying to hide the giddy feeling in his stomach as he sees you slowly approach. "Quickly, before I change my mind." You climb onto the bed at that, abandoning the blanket on the floor as you lay next to him, your arm loosely wrapping around his torso as he pulls the duvet over you. "Don't lay on the floor again, okay? Just ask me to come back."
"I did, you left me anyway." You murmur, a sad look etched on your brows before you sigh into his robe. He stops himself from comforting you, his fingers aching to run through your wild hair and biting back his apology. He sits silently, letting you drift back asleep holding his hip.
He doesn't like wasting the day. He knows he should pry himself away, and pull you out of bed too. He just can't bring himself to disturb your peace that way.
He gives in, his fingers gently stroking your hairline, moving stray hairs off your face. You lean into the warmth of his hand as he moves the hair off your neck, thumbing the shell of your ear carefully before clearing his throat.
"We've got a busy day, Y/N. We need to get up."
His fingers graze your neck softly, before his thumb caresses your jaw. You sigh into the air as you open your eyes, looking up at him. "It's so early." "Early bird gets the worm. You've yet to have breakfast and get dressed. Come on." He's speaking softly, his thumb now tracing circles into your soft cheeks. He can't help it, pinching the fat gently before moving away. Thankfully, you don't question his actions, just sluggishly throw the duvet off your body. He holds up the skirt from before, the ruby red material glittering in the light. "This one, yes? And the pink top? Or the white one?" "What is this, dress-up?" You yawn, and Seungkwan frowns. "Be nice, I made this for you." "Sorry, oh wisest one. Dress me like a doll." You stand and stretch your arms up, and he rolls his eyes as he carefully wraps the skirt around you, feeling your hands on his shoulders as he pins it in place. "Maybe I'll add a little drawstring so it's more secure, hm?" He's speaking to himself, but you nod anyway. "Arms up." He says, before tugging the soft white shirt over your head, carefully slipping your arms through. "There we go. What do you think? Pretty?" He turns you to face the mirror once more, hands on your hips as you sleepily look at yourself. You nod in silence, and he cards his fingers through your hair gently, pulling it back and pulling a piece of white ribbon out of his pocket. He ties the hair back carefully, the ribbon looped into a bow. "So it won't get in the way. Oh, and I'll get started on some shoes for you sometime this week. You'll just be indoors today, so don't worry about getting hurt." You're peering at him through the mirror, your hands folded in front of you as you speak. "Why do you ask if I think the outfit is pretty?" He raises a brow, "Why the question?" "You asked if I think I look pretty. Why does it matter? It's just us." You shrug, the flowing material of the skirt flowing smoothly as you turn to face him. "And it's not like you'd tell a mortal she's pretty, would you?" Seungkwan can feel that same guttural guilt he felt earlier slowly begin to slip away. He couldn't figure you out – you could be so sweet, so flirty and pouty, and then you could be this. Defiant, bratty, argumentative.
"Can't I want to know if you feel good in what I'm making for you? Would you rather I make you wear a sack? Or walk around nude for anyone to see you?" He scoffs, seeing you smile inwardly. "Does anyone involve you?" He doesn't respond, shaking his head as he sinks into his closet.
Yeah. Anyone involves him, and probably just him.

Learn to Love Again (m) | myg | teaser
💜 It has been posted! Read it here. 💜 Summary: People always leave. They become beautiful stars shining bright in the night sky. When life hands you lemons, you’ve been told to make lemonade, but that is hard when your soul and heart is breaking apart. When you rescue a tiny cat and meet a handsome stranger in the cafe, you finally feel yourself healing – but when they too leave, how are you going to learn to love again?
Pairing: Yoongi x reader (female, mainly called pet names so no ‘Y/N’).
AU + genres: Hybrid!au (shapeshifter!yoongi), strangers to lovers, slice of life, heavy angst, a lot of sadness (I’m sorry!), dark vibes, smut and fluff and some humor.
Rating: Mature/explicit/R18 – this is mature/explicit content, so minors, please do not interact.
Word count (for the teaser): 480 words. I’m still writing the fic and it’s currently at 12k and I’m almost done!
Warnings (general) + triggers: Heavy angst, extreme heavy sadness and grief, death of minor characters, mention of previous character death (parents), mentions of su*cide, mention of m*rder, su*cidal thoughts.
Warnings (explicit): Explicit sex (I haven’t written the smut yet, so I don’t know what it entails yet 🤣).
Authors note: I know it sounds hella sad (and it is), but it is also very sweet and heartwarming too 💜 I wanted to venture into the darker stuff again, and embrace all the feelings and sadness that I felt a few weeks ago (I’m fine, well I’m getting through it at least).
If you are triggered by any of the warnings, I suggest that you skip this. It’s not that explicit though (except the smut lol) but the heavy subjects are still there and they feature in it a lot.
Also, the quote “people always leave” features a lot in this and I only now realize why I find it so familiar – it’s a famous quote from Peyton Sawyer from One Tree Hill.
*fun fact: I actually took the photo of the night sky myself (back in 2013 lol) and used in the breakline for this!
Taglist: If you wish to be notified and added to the taglist, just drop a comment here on this teaser, an ask or a message and I’ll add you. I kindly ask that you have your age visible on your blog, as this contains mature and dark themes, you must be over 18+ 🙂
“Yuna…,” you cry, the anguish in your voice echoing the profound pain that seems to squeeze the very life out of your heart. “Why does everyone leave?” The question hangs in the air, more rhetorical than expectant, as if you're not seeking an answer from Yuna but grappling with the cruel patterns of departure that life has woven into the fabric of your existence. Each departure, like a thread pulled from the tapestry of your world, leaves an unraveled piece that never quite knits itself back together.
“I–, I don’t know,” she stammers through her tears, the weight of the unknown echoing in her voice, mirroring the uncertainty that now shrouds both of your lives.
“Promise we’ll be there for each other,” you declare, the weight of the words hanging in the air. It's a poignant plea, an acknowledgment of life's unpredictable twists. You understand that you can't ask for an eternity, but in this moment, you're determined to hold onto each other as tightly as time allows.
“Count on it,” she vows, her response flowing effortlessly, a testament to the unspoken bond between you two.
Despite the tightening in your throat, a glimmer of happiness sparks within you at the assurance she just gave.
Why must life be so fucking cruel, robbing you of everyone you hold dear?
An overwhelming urge to reconnect with your sister washes over you, a deep yearning fueled by the ache of prolonged silence between you.
“I want to call my sister,” you manage to say through your sobs, a desperate plea lacing your words. “Will you be alright, Yuna?” you ask, your concern breaking through the waves of grief that surround you both.
“Yeah. I mean, I'm fucking sad, but go ahead and call her. Can I come to your place tomorrow?” Yuna's voice carries a subtle plea, a shared understanding that neither of you wants to be alone in the midst of sorrow.
“Yeah, I'd love that,” you respond, your voice carrying the weight of grief and the faint glimmer of gratitude for the companionship that awaits tomorrow. As you attempt to dry your tears with a throw blanket on the couch, the room feels emptier than ever, and the ache in your heart persists.
“See you tomorrow,” she says before the call ends. The hollowness in the room deepens, and you draw in a shaky breath, your gaze fixed on your phone. The background image captures a moment frozen in time, featuring you, Nari, and Yuna. God, the ache of missing her intensifies, and you can't shake the heaviness in your chest.
You tighten your grip on the phone, each tear that escapes your eyes a silent testament to the pain in your heart. Determination wells up as you locate your sister's number, fingers tracing the familiar digits, ready to bridge the gap that time and distance have carved between you.

Hey. So, I saw your Chiaki & Fuyuhiko comic that I like to call "Look on the Bright Side" (since it didn't have an official name in the post itself), and I loved it. I loved seeing Nanami & Kuzuryu interact with each other with the former comforting the latter on Peko and complimenting on how brave he was to save his friend, the scene between Fuyuhiko & Peko during the latter's execution, and then the scene of you making a throwback to your DR3 rewrite from your Talky Talky Tuesday content where the DR2 cast witness Human Chiaki's death and chose not to help her because of how awful Junko's influence on them was. It was heartwarming, bittersweet, and terrifying all at the same time, and as @/self-in-dulled-gent put it in their reblog of the comic, the 4th & 5th panels depicting your DR3 rewrite is a cool and visceral indication of how far the DR2 cast had fallen into despair. Heck, both the comic & the rewrite even serve as inspiration towards my au/rewrite/reimagine of DR3's Despair Arc & how Junko corrupts the DR2 cast into despair. So, thank you so much for the inspiration. I really appreciate it.
With all that in mind, I have some questions I wanna ask you regarding both the comic & DR3 rewrite, if you don't mind.
May I have your permission to do a review on your DR3 Rewrite post for my Advian Reads & Reviews content (which in case you're curious about, AR&R is reading review series where I read something, like fanfiction for example, while also doing a review on it at the same time, giving my thoughts on whatever I'm reviewing as well as potentially even sharing my own stories)?
Will you ever showcase the bonus panel of the rest of the class witnessing Chiaki's death that you mentioned in the comic's tags?
Who is the 5th person on the right between Kazuichi & Hiyoko in the 4th panel (I'm assuming it's Sonia based on the hairstyle, but I thought I'd ask for some confirmation)?
Will we ever get to see the dialogue of Chiaki not resenting Hajime/Izuru for not helping her you also mentioned in the comic's tags?
Follow up on that previous question, do you think it's possible that we might also get to see if Chiaki resents her classmates for not helping her, or if she would also get it with them like she did with Hajime/Izuru?
How exactly does Junko kill Chiaki in front of her classmates? Does she still have her go through her execution like in canon, or does she kill her in a different way, and if so, then how? I ask because I saw Nanami had blood coming from her eyes & mouth (making it look like Junko literally pulled her eyes out), there's blood on her hoodie & left thigh, and she appears to have been stabbed on her right side.
And those are my questions. In regards to gaining your permission to review your DR3 rewrite, if you do grant permission, great! I'll be sure to credit you and give you a shoutout too if you do. And if you don't, then I'm content with that and will understand and respect the reason behind your refusal, whatever that reason may be. Feel free to respond back to me whenever you get the chance. Thank you and have a wonderful day/afternoon/night. 🤗💕❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖💕🤗
that's one heck of an ask so I'm using a readmore:
Thank you! I remember that comment hehe I'm really glad people like it
1: sure! Just know that I'm like, you know, just a fan and a hobbyist and not even really a writer so I'm not saying my rewrite is more right than anything else!
2: the bonus panel was actually everyone else's deaths (in SDR2) since they all sort of died alone, too. But it didn't feel relevant enough, I prrrrrrrrobably don't have the sketch anymore
3: yep that's Sonia
4: I'll be totally real i don't remember what I was thinking there at all. Sssssorryyyyyy
5: I think Chiaki, if she got to see the events of SDR2 as the AI, wouldn't resent her classmates so much as feel sorry for them and be disappointed. At the same time though I think she might be shocked at what they're capable of. Maybe she can't help but be a bit bitter, who knows. Hajime/Izuru is a different deal since that guy literally got his brains scrambled, can't really blame him. (sort of like deleting all the save data, maybe?)
6: the blood and amounts of it was more about the drama lol. But I thought the obstacle was like, a little too fantastical, not serious enough, so in my rewrite she straight up beats Chiaki to death with some kind of instrument. I think the image of Junko doing something so realistic (and slow) while everyone watches passively is even worse.
Thanks for asking beforehand! 💙

Hi! I love your fic so much but I'm too shy to interact 🫣 But the other day this thought hit me out of nowhere and I had to share it!
The story is already going to have more than enough angst (please have mercy–) but do you know what would make it even more angsty?
More time in-between
Imagine if (In chapter 3) instead of being kind of accepting, Gaia took one look at Luke and decided that she can't take more risks with his upbringing? What if instead she guilt trips Percy into thinking it was her fault Hector and Milo are gone, that her naive way of raising them with no hatred is what got them killed?
You want to keep Luke safe, right? Your mother knows best, I'll help you raise him the right way this time...
And Percy, who has been questioning if she is a good mother for a long time, can't help but be devastated thinking the gods have offed her kids; but Gaia can help her keep Luke safe!
So Gaia just hides them somewhere else for more time until Luke is older, properly trained and his head filled with hatred for the gods through Gaia's manipulation and Percy' grief. Now he knows how awful the gods are and the price for it was his brother's lives.
(I don't think Luke would listen to Gaia but he would listen to his mother, who is being manipulated–)
(Meanwhile the gods in the background: Oh no! Not another blond kid with a scar trying to bring us down with the help of an old family member 😨)
❥︎ OnceMika
Don’t be shyyyy 🫶🫶🫶 (jk, do whatever makes you comfortable, I’m shy too lol)
Yeah… the angst is coming but I promise we’ll have a lot to say “owwwwn 🥹🥹🥹” too!! The heartwarming moments will come!!!!
In this scenario, Gaea would be like: “okay, I got this”, but she definitely doesn’t! As you said, Luke would trust his mother but never Gaea. As Percy mental health decreased more and more, he’d start making questions (and the right questions).
I don’t doubt he’d grown to hate the gods, but he’d hardly see Gaea as any different from the Olympians. And the thing about Luke is that he’s much more cunning than people give him credit for, and because of this they think they can manipulate him.
In any case, Luke striking fear on gods’ hearts is so real of him 😂😂😂
Olympians: if we had a nickel for every time a blonde scarred kid named Luke hated us…

Why I love Ultra Violet, the one of the best indie rpgs you haven't played yet.
Ultra Violet has it rough. It is hopelessly obscure, but if you HAVE heard of it, you've likely played dozens of games like it. It's a Yume Nikki fangame, living in the shadow of the more popular games in the genre like .flow, Yume 2kki, Answered Prayers, and of course, Yume Nikki itself. And in the small community of Yume Nikki fangame fans, it struggles further to stand out. It's creative, but also leans on the existing ideas of Yume Nikki. It's extremely pretty, though nowhere near as pretty as 2kki. It gets dark and atmospheric, but not as dark as .flow. It's mysterious and tranquil, but not as mysterious nor tranquil as Answered Prayers. Between all the games in this niche genre trying to change and innovate, it seems to fail to find its voice. And yet, I can't stop thinking about it. Ultra Violet has been occupying a spot in my brain since I first played it half a year ago, and in an effort to figure out why, I decided to 100% it. I collected every effect, and got every achievement available on Yume Nikki Online. And now I finally get it. Ultra Violet isn't just some unique worlds in an otherwise standard yume nikki game. Instead, it has a specific story it is trying to tell, and quite an interesting one at that. Ultra Violet is the story of a young woman named Sometsuki. As is the standard with these kinds of games, she refuses to leave her room. However, going to sleep will allow her to explore her dream world. This is the basic setup most of these games follow, but Ultra Violet sets up one unique inversion. Sometsuki's room is very cozy. It's hardly the boring and barren room most of these other games have. Instead, she has an incredibly modern looking home. Where other games put static on their TVs, Sometsuki has cute cartoons she can watch.
This sets up part of the lie of Ultra Violet. This modern cute room doesn't seem to fit in the dark worlds of Yume Nikki games, but Ultra Violet tries hard to present itself as a cuter and more innocent game. This is the first impression the game creates, but it wasn't the one I was left with. There's one thing that becomes more and more evident over time as you play: There is something wrong with Sometsuki, and she doesn't want you to know about it.
I should preface this by saying I don't know if this was intentional. I don't know what story the developer wanted to tell, but due to the interpretive nature of this genre, this was the story I got out of the game. Ultra Violet's worlds are often extremely cute on the surface. Rabbit motifs are one of the most common reoccurring images. The game definitely wants to be cute and heartwarming, with even the game's equivalent of the Yume Nikki eyeball world, a nexus world filled with bloody body parts, being not TOO graphic compared to what other fangames have done. But the deeper you go, the deeper things get... wrong...
The nexus worlds are rather abstract. A snowy lake, a pastel forest, an ocean. But the deeper you go, the more things start to get specific. Things start to feel closer to her memories. And these are where the game dives into Sometsuki as a character. You can tell these are the areas that are clearly traumatic for her. But the game doesn't just hide the horror here, there are many horror easter eggs hidden in the cuter worlds, and the deeper worlds often contain the most comforting areas alongside the scary aspects. And this is where I think the character of Sometsuki lies. She buries and masks her memories due to her trauma, trying to hide her pain. But the trauma hasn't gone away, it's just well hidden. It leaks into the nice dreams she builds for herself, not letting her forget. The game's only horror effect, the headless effect, interacts with a surprising amount of areas in the cuter worlds. Sometsuki's dream world is lie. Her cute room is a lie. She buries her past, to avoid confronting what she's seen and is implied to have done.
One horror area is actively blocked off by boards and boxes you have to smash through, physically breaking down the walls she put up. Another requires her to continuously return to a room, similar to Yume Nikki's uboa event. But this time, every time you return to the room the woman inside is doing something different. This character appears in a variety of areas, obviously important to Sometsuki. It's like you have to go through her entire relationship with this person before uncovering what Sometsuki doesn't want to see. I think this, the way people bury what they don't want to feel deep inside and ignore the way it tears them up, and the difficulties of breaking through that habit and confronting the darkness, is the theme of Ultra Violet. Ultraviolet: A colour you cannot see, but is nontheless present everywhere you go. This is the overarching theme of the game, how one's demons can lurk within them even when they try to suppress things. It explores how trauma can manifest even in people who seem fine. Sometsuki doesn't come across like the more obviously depressed protagonists of the other fangames, but she is nonetheless suffering through her mask of tranquility and happiness, a mask she wears so well she believes it herself. The game commits so hard to its theme of hidden scars, that some horrific imagery is only visible by going out of bounds, and isn't allowed to be seen in normal gameplay. This doesn't make the cute stuff all a lie though. Ultra Violet has darkness lurking under the surface, but it can be very lighthearted and soft too. Sometsuki's memories contain a lot of gentle areas, maybe even more than the horror themed ones. Despite what I have said about darkness lurking under the cute facade of many of the lighthearted worlds, that doesn't invalidate the comfort they provide to Sometsuki, and the game understands that. It never frames the dark areas of Sometsuki's life as more 'real' than the happy ones. And in doing this, it pushes back on many of the theories about these types of games that interpret them entirely through suffering. Sometsuki has had a very hard life, one that she tries to bury, but as she works her way through her subconscious, she also finds a lot of buried memories of sweetness and tranquility. This game isn't a "this cute game is actually MESSED UP!" type of story. No, it is the story of a woman who has repressed her memories finally coming to terms with everything, the darkest parts of her psyche, but also the nicer places in her subconscious.
This is definitely one of the most standout aspects of Ultra Violet to me. It would have been so easy to make all of the deepest parts of Sometsuki's subconscious dark and edgy, but it doesn't. The sweet moments are just as much a part of the game as the scary ones. This gentle atmosphere carries through the game. While the eerie moments can be in-your-face, the happiest moments are often rather understated and tranquil. The peaceful areas are often as mysterious and open to theorizing as the scary ones. A bizarre shrine at the top of a hill in the countryside, helping someone in a blizzard and making a new friend, or sitting and looking out across a vast lake with the girl from the uboa analogue. The lasting image when I finished was not of a woman haunted by her past, but someone who made peace with what happened, the good and the bad. It's an unusually hopeful message for a Yume Nikki game. Overall, Sometsuki is one of my favourite Yume Nikki fangame protagonists. If Yume Nikki is about exploring one's subconscious, then the simple act of hiding Sometsuki's subconscious makes this game stand out from so many other fangames. Sometsuki is not an open book, so while the horror isn't as groundbreaking as .flow or even Yume Nikki, Sometsuki's relationship to the horror is what makes her such a compelling character.
If you'd like to play Ultra Violet, it is free to play on the Yume Nikki Online Project. It's incomplete and lacks an ending, but nonetheless I highly recommend it. It's both a cute and interesting game that does a lot in a genre that is hard to stand out in. I won't act like it's going to change your life or anything, but if you're a fan of Yume Nikki or surreal indie rpgs with horror elements, I'd say it's definitely worth a playthrough. It's cute, a bit scary, but overall very sentimental and sweet.

Whos the best daddy: oda, jingyuan or childe?
WELCOME TO THE DADDY OLYMPICS 🔥
I shall be your fine hostess for the evening so BUCKLE UP! We have a fine selection of men here, all amazing but do not be fooled by their charms, they are beyond deadly!! In the wise words of Mr Pedro Pascal "Daddy is a state of mind." and today, we shall find out which one of these three men has what it takes!
The first man we have is the 11th Harbinger, Tartaglia! Or Childe! Or Ajax! Or however the fuck you want to call him, he has too many names!! (One is enough my good Sir.)
Renowned as a family man, Mr Tartaglia writes letters to his whole family and loves all of his siblings very much, so much so that he is willing to lie in order to keep their dreams intact. While some people might argue what he is doing is wrong (and in a way they're right) but his intentions are always pure and just wants his family to have a good life.
What a gem of a man!
We are also aware that this man is LOADED, so his family or friends do not need to worry about any expenses whatsoever, regardless of how much they cost, Mr Tartaglia has you COVERED!
However.
As unfortunate as it may be, Mr Tartaglia simply lacks the certain finesse that your classic Daddy™ requires to have. His boyish charms are out of this world but they are indeed just that - boyish!
Besides, I personally believe that he'd be more of a "Sir" type of guy. "Sir" and "Daddy" are indeed powerful authority figures but there is a slight difference there.
The final ranking for Mr Tartaglia is 6/10. He is handsome and strong, but he's too much of a kind elder brother figure, or a "Sir" to ever truly quality as a Daddy. At least, that's what I think.
Oh boy, it's getting saucy now! 🥴🤤
This is general Jing Yuan, a man renowned for his lazy and carefree attitude but behind that smile is an incredible tactician who can strike like a lion at any given moment. Despite his attitude, be very, very afraid of him.
Isn't that just so sexy of him?
Tall, husky and sweet, Jing Yuan fits the mold of "Daddy" quite nicely. And to top it off, he has a young child under his care! Their interactions are heartwarming and precious, I can't stop staring at the screen whenever the two are on it and I know for a fact that I'm not alone there <333
His out of this world voice (I'm talking about the English dub) makes me melt - if he tells me to do something, I will do it.
No questions asked.
His authority as a general also gives him great power and leverage as well. A kind man who has the ability to crush anyone who gets in his way is always an amazing Daddy™!
I simply must give this beautiful general a perfect 10/10 score! 😍
And finally, the last man of the hour is the darling Oda Sakunosuke, or Odasaku for short! <33 :3
Where, oh where do I begin with this man? He has the blood of many people on his hands and yet, he managed to worm his way into the heart of the Port Mafia's youngest but most dangerous executive that has ever lived, which is nothing to scoff at I assure you.
While his status as a mafioso gives an air of uncertainty about his whereabouts and well being, it is safe to say that he, like Jing Yuan, is quite the Daddy™. Kind, caring but also incredibly humorous, he is the ideal package. Walks and coffee shop dates would be beyond interesting with this man and besides, I'm sure that his long and slender fingers will be good for other things besides writing! ;)
This man also takes care of an entire gaggle of orphans! Isn't he just amazing?!
Unfortunately, there is one glaring issue though -
His kids are dead!!
That's right you heard it here folks, his kids got blown up! Don't worry Odasaku, I'll be more than happy to give you as many kids as you want! Do you want a son? A daughter? Both??
My body is READY!
As much as I want to give this man a 10, his job and the fact that his kids are blown to bits knocks out a point. I'm sorry Odasaku, but your final ranking is a strong and massive 9/10.
Folks, this is where you step in! Yes that's right, YOU! YOU vote which one of these men is the ✨ ULTIMATE DADDY! ✨

Imogen did not stay in the sitting room. She didn't want to risk Cornelius coming back. She also needed to find Eli so she could share her news. She hadn't wanted anyone but him to know first, and now he was finding out last! Curses! Me and my temper. I should know better. I should have told him when I first suspected. Imogen stomped down the hill. She knew just where to find Eli. Winemaking was in full production, and Eli would be in his office. She slipped into the small, cozy room. Eli turned as soon as her skirts had swished through the door. He'd stood and drew her close to him. She inhaled his scent deeply. A mix of sandalwood, leather, and oak greeted her as she pressed her hands against his waistcoat. "I have to tell you something. I wanted to tell you first, and I should've told you days ago but now you're finding out last and that's not at all how I wanted this go." The words tumbled out of her mouth as tears formed in her eyes. Damn, these emotions! I can't seem to control them anymore!
He rubbed her arm and held her close. His warm blue eyes twinkling. "Tell me what's the matter. You're a welcome distraction from this paperwork, but anyone could see." Despite his warning, he did not let her go. Imogen had found that Eli loved to touch her. It didn't even have to be in the throes of romance either, he played with her fingers as they sat and enjoyed a glass of wine by the fire, or he pressed his hand to the small of her back as they walked. He was always touching her, and she loved it.
She only managed a whisper, now that the moment was upon her. "I'm carrying your babe." Eli's exhale was audible. He laid his head upon hers and tangled his fingers into her coiffure. "You're going to muss my hair and then I'll really have something to explain. You know how fastidious Mother and he can be." They rarely spoke of Cornelius by name. As if saying his name made their actions worse, or maybe they just made them more real.
"Are you sure? How do you feel? Are you ill?" Eli's concern was heartwarming as he processed her news. Again, the difference between the brothers struck her like lightning. If only her father had met Eli before Cornelius, or at least before the papers were signed! How different her life could have been!
Resting her hand on his chest and wrapping the other about his shoulders, she gazed up at him. "I suffer some in the morning, and I'm sensitive to smells - especially jasmine. I'm alright otherwise, though. It's early still."
Eli faltered a bit, "Please don't think less of me for my next question for I know how precarious our situation is, but are you sure it's mine? I want nothing more in this world for us to have a child, but it is dangerous for us to want that. We have to make sure he thinks it's his."
"It is definitely yours." Imogen paused to search for the right words to assuage his worry. "He does think it's his because, after our wonderful night, I made sure to perform the expected wifely duties." She paused to clear her throat. She delicately continued, "I know it's yours because he did not complete the task where it needed to be completed to ensure a babe." She was blushing profusely now. They did not speak about her intimate interactions with Cornelius. It was an uncomfortable subject, and Imogen felt extremely guilty about divulging how she knew this babe was his, but she needed him to know as well.
Eli didn't know how to respond, well he did, but it was not suitable for polite company. How in the hell did his brother not finish the deed? His wife was a beautiful creature that he took for granted. All the better for you, because she is yours in heart and mind. "He… didn't finish? No, don't tell me more. I do not want to know, but I am glad that he's inept and that we are expecting a baby. More's the pity that we can't tell anyone, but knowing is enough for me. Perhaps one day we can be together, but for right now, this is enough." Eli tugged her chin towards him as his lips descended upon hers. They were completely oblivious to the world outside those windowed doors.

(˶˃ᆺ˂˶) for @xinxiins / continued from here
yawning for the n-th time as she sprawls over the hotel bed, lu mengran sighs before discarding her script book and pick up her ipad instead. the day's filming has gone well and smooth, sure it wouldn't be too much if she were to spend some time indulging in the fancy world of social media and the internet, right? the lines that she still hasn't fully memorized could wait just a little bit longer... just a little bit--
another yawn is interrupted when a livestream notification prompts on top of the screen. she swipes it away mindlessly, also accidentally refreshing her w.eibo home feed along, earning a little dissatisfied click of tongue. a few scrolls and then ren xinyu's scandalously half covered chest is on display-- in her defense, the screenshot has been zoomed in several times, and it's hard not to notice. curiosity doesn't kill the cat in this case, however it does kill her urge to sleep when another few more similar posts finally got her to click into the livestream room.
she's heard -- and seen -- enough interactions between ren xinyu and an jinyue to know that those two share a bond deeper than others, but it's not until she almost gets dizzy from all the comments flooding in that she realizes just how ridiculously close they are. the few comments that mengran manages to catch has her bewildered; good thing she is lucky enough to have her own room, or else someone would have to endure her screaming into her pillow. there are some friends that she has gotten close with during and after filming, and the luckiest -- or maybe not -- thing about that is no one cares enough about what they do, be it some wild, borderline inappropriate jokes or anything else in between.
it sure has been an eye-opening experience witnessing this firsthand, and before she knows it, the livestream is approaching its end. almost sad to see it end, her finger hovers over the 'send' button, a small little goodbye comment that's been typed out waiting to be sent when her name is mentioned.
and then her phone is blowing up with notifications that she could barely see or hear properly what's been said.
it's not until the livestream ends, and she's managed to watch a few 'ren xinyu talking about lu mengran in livestream' clips that she realizes how deep of a trouble she could be in. for a split second, she wants to strangle ren xinyu. but she can't cause any harm to someone who has given her such a heartwarming shoutout now, can she?
his messages come just in time as she's typing up a message that's hopefully respectful enough, and slightly dumbfounded, she stands up to pace around her bed as she deletes her initial unsent message:
[ to: 任老师 ]: rèn lǎo shī [ to: 任老师 ]: do you think she'll hate it? [ to: 任老师 ]: i mean, she's so nice and kindhearted but what if they take it the wrong way? [ to: 任老师 ]: [ sent an image ]
now, she'll hate it if her chance of networking with the gorgeous female lead has diminished significantly just because some netizens have decided to take things the wrong way somehow, like how things usually happen in this field.
[ to: 任老师 ]: suī rán wǒ yě méi zuò shén me... [ to: 任老师 ]: dàn shì hái shi hěn gǎn xiè nǐ de chēng zàn [ to: 任老师 ]: [ sent an image ] [ to: 任老师 ]: do you still feel sick?
#t: lu mengran#t: mengran x xinyu#ok i rambled a lot but you know i can't shut up so ksdjf#she's just impressed by a lot of things pls skdfs#narrator vc: is the message really respectful? we will never know now#lmao she's panicking but it's fine we're all good she's good

Dakota kai (Charlie)x reader
Dakotas(charlie) streaming and reader doesn’t realise so reader comes in and brings Dakota(charlie)a drink or whatever then like kisses her before sitting down next to her then realising that Charlie’s streaming and the chats blowing up
Here you go, Babe || Dakota Kai/Charlie x Reader
Summary: You didn't expect Charlie to be streaming when you show her some extra affection after bringing her something to drink.
A/N: This is the cutest sweetest thing I've ever written. I used her real name in this fic since that's what the others say when they stream together and also because of her twitch name.
You in the living room, watching TV with Shayna when your phone buzzed with a text from Charlie. "Hey, can you bring me a drink? I'm in up in my office."
Without thinking much of it, you grabbed a carton of coconut water from the fridge and made your way upstairs. Charlie had transformed the attic into her own little gaming haven, complete with an impressive gaming setup and a comfortable couch. You loved watching her play, even if you weren't much of a gamer yourself.
As you entered the attic, you saw Charlie focused on her game, her headphones on and her eyes locked onto the screen. "Here you go, babe," you said softly, approaching her with the drink in hand.
Charlie turned to you with a smile when she heard your voice. "Thanks, love," she replied, taking the drink from you and placing it within reach.
You leaned in to give her a few kisses, not thinking much of it since you were alone in the attic. But as you sat down on the couch behind her, you noticed something that made your heart skip a beat. Charlie's setup included a webcam, and a red light indicated that she was streaming on Twitch.
"Oh my god," you whispered, feeling a blush creep up your cheeks. "Charlie, are you streaming right now?"
She turned to look at you, her eyes widening slightly as she realized what you were asking. "Uh, yeah," she admitted sheepishly. "That's why I couldn't go downstairs and grab a drink myself."
You looked at the chat on her screen and saw a flurry of messages coming in, all commenting on how sweet and adorable you were. Some fans even saying you seem like such a great girlfriend, and you couldn't help but giggle at their enthusiasm.
"Char, your fans are really eating this up," you said, pointing to the screen with her chat on it. "They think we're the best couple ever."
She laughed and rolled her eyes playfully. "Well, can't argue with that," she teased, leaning back against you and resting her head on your shoulder.
You watched her continue to play her game, occasionally stealing glances at the chat and responding to some of the comments. It was both nerve-wracking and exciting to know that so many people were watching and commenting on your interaction with her.
As the stream went on, you became more comfortable with the idea of being on camera and interacting with Charlie's viewers. You chatted with them, answering questions about your relationship and playfully teasing your girlfriend whenever she made a funny comment or play in the game.
The chat continued to be filled with compliments and supportive messages, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for the positivity and love from Charlie's fans.
After the stream ended, your girlfriend turned to you with a smile. "Well, that was unexpected," she said.
"Yeah, but it was fun," you replied, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I guess I'm officially a Twitch celebrity now."
Charlie laughed and pulled you closer. "You were already a celebrity in my eyes," she said, pressing her lips to yours in a sweet kiss.
As you cuddled on the couch together, you couldn't help but feel thankful for this unexpected and heartwarming moment. You knew that no matter what, you and Charlie had the support of each other and her amazing fans, and that was all that mattered.

Hirogaru Sky Impressions (2/5)
Full starting team now assembled. Yay~!
That said, I'm going to keep this "short" as I'm not feeling well. Also got some other things I need to finish but I can't concentrate on that if I don't get this post done and out of the way first.
Overall, the season is continuing to be a very delightful watch. I'm pleased with the pacing and that the writers are diligent about not giving away too much of the main plot just yet. There will be a proper time to dive into that later.
In the meantime, dedicating all the fillers to further fleshing out the Cures and building their team rapport and bonds with each other are exactly what we should always see from Precure.
Sora certainly holds the MC role the most prominently out of all her friends since her arc is tied closely to the main plot. So it's just a matter of waiting until the story returns to that for her arc to move forward. Namely, the reason behind the conflict between Skyland and the Undergu Empire (aka this season's lore), what Ellee-chan's significance is in the grand scheme of things and where the hell Captain Shalala is.
Though I think most of us have already theorized that her sudden disappearance is a setup for the eventual reveal that she is actually in league with the villains and will re-emerge as the third general. Or perhaps even the big bad boss because c'mon, you don't hire a veteran seiyuu like Mitsuki Saiga for only two or so episodes and call it a day.
Villain roles are mostly performed by well-established seiyuu in the industry so we can definitely expect Shalala to return in a fashion that would shake Sora's core beliefs (i.e. the broken pedestal trope). Which will then push her to re-evaluate what it means to be a true hero and come back even stronger after recovering from the shock.
On another note, I have my doubts whether Shalala is really the boss because the superior we heard Kabaton conversing with in ep 11 is actually voiced by Takako Honda, another veteran, and not Mitsuki Saiga.
...maybe Shalala is playing a double agent in order to get close to the Undergu leader and get rid of the threat once and for all that way?
Possible. But we don't have enough clues or evidence to confirm that yet so we'll just have to wait.
On another note, I like that they're doing something new again with this season by having the villain generals retire from their post right after their last defeat. Not sure if Kabaton will return as an ally in later episodes or not but it was heartwarming to see him turn over a new leaf and aim for a new and better purpose after he's been spared from death.
Back to the Cures.
Sora and Mashiro's friendship is just beautiful to behold. Thanks to Sora's arc being set aside for the moment, there's more time to focus on developing their relationship. Noticeably, it's during these fillers that Sora has increasingly become the one to support Mashiro rather than the other way around while Mashiro takes her own lead in finding her own path and discovering what she wants to do and what her dreams are (so yes, she isn't a Cure without a personal story arc, that's such a relief!).
Their partnership is quite balanced in that respect and I couldn't be happier.
Adding onto it, they're continuing to pay tribute to the original Futari Wa pair through Sora and Mashiro this way without disrupting the team camaraderie which is also a plus.
Tsubasa and Ageha as the beta pair provide very fun interactions, too, and I think I favor them over Sora and Mashiro. Whereas Sora and Mashiro are best friends who strive to do their best for each other, Tsubasa and Ageha have a more sibling dynamic between them with all the fond teasing and nagging.
The only complaint I have about them is their duo attack.
I mean yea, Wing looks so cool in his phoenix form (I'm calling it that, you can't stop me) but that shouldn't be a trade off for Butterfly getting all the lines while he becomes her nuclear pudgy mount.
I'm afraid that for all the progressiveness Toei has shown with HiroSky, they're still too chicken to go the full mile with the changes they implemented just yet.
We took two steps forward by finally including a male member to the main team...but took one step back with them still placing more importance on the girl cuz it's easier to sell her than the boy when their positions should be equal.
Granted, it's just one stock footage that only lasts about a minute but...it just bugs me, that's all.
That said, Butterfly's debut was omg, so awesome?!
The whole transformation sequence captured Ageha's vivacious personality perfectly.
She was already more than qualified to become Precure with her natural confidence and heroic drive. To see her slip right into the call like a duck taking to water (or er, a butterfly to the air) and then proceed to kick utter ass in her alter ego form...
Absolutely WONDERFUL.
I also love that though they constantly refer to Ageha as an adult and regularly show her dedication to her studies and jobs, they don't let her duties be the only things that define her.
Yes, she is mature and responsible but she's also living her best life and enjoying herself right now. She's interested in fashion, make up and has other personal interests outside her aspirations. She looks out for the kids who are younger than her while also having fun alongside them.
Yes, she's 18 and still in her youth but the point about Ageha/Butterfly's character is that there's no limit on choosing what you want for yourself. Just like how gender should not be an obstacle to becoming a magical girl (the metaphor for one's dreams and wishes), age shouldn't be one either.
Wear the accessories you want, pursue the hobbies you like, dance and sing without a care in the world.
As long as you're not hurting anyone, do what you find is fulfilling for you and do it without shame. You can be 30, 50, or 80 years old and that shouldn't matter in loving what you love.
Be like Ageha.
Act your age but don't be that. Be yourself foremost.
And that's all for now, I guess.
I suspect that midseason Cure debut will happen sometime before ep 30 so that we can have the ultimate forms + whole group power up attack around ep 40.
And then the remaining 8 episodes will center more or less around the main plot.
K, bye for now.
#yea i'm sorry i really don't know the meaning of 'short' lol#anyways the fact that i can still find it within me to appreciate this show in spite of my current state of mind#just proves that this season is a very good season indeed#i'm glad cuz now i'm mostly free of worries that the rest won't be satisfying#hirogaru sky precure#cure sky#cure prism#cure wing#cure butterfly#sora harewataru#nijigaoka mashiro#yuunagi tsubasa#hijiri ageha#ellee-chan

MDZS Fanfic Recs -- Completed
I am in such a MDZS rabbit hole and its driving me INSANE! I've never done this before, but here are a couple of completed MDZS fics that I saved. Not all of them are my top ones but I enjoyed them quite a bit. I don't think the characters went too OOC but having said that I can't tell too much. At least I know that they are goo goo gaa gaa OOC iykwim
Forget Myself in Memories
Ten years after the events of Guanyin temple, the juniors accidentally step into an array that sends them to the past, just before the beginning of the Sunshot Campaign
Author: geethr75 Words: 10,300 Chapters: 7
The ending is pretty sweet and it's a "juniors time travel and decide to fix things" trope. I'm a sucker for that type of thing and it's cool to see how the past interacts with the future -- especially since instead of the usual time travel to Cloud Recesses, they travel at the start of the Sunshot Campaign.
ghost (What's your name)
Wei Wuxian spends the 13 years after his death as a ghost, except that nobody outside of four little kids seems be able to see him.
Author: pearlAngel Words: 3,086 Chapters: 1
This goes into a bit of the perspective of all the juniors and their opinions on the Yiling Patriarch and how different his ghost is. NHS also shows up and his little section makes me tear up a ngl
When The Soul Returns Home
"Jiang Chenggggggg!" He whined, taking extra care not to jolt the man any harder than was comfortable, in fear of being whipped to death. "Heartless shidi, ignoring me. The least you could do is threaten to break my legs, you know." That last part came out more honest than he expected. Because yeah. He'd rather Jiang Cheng threaten him with Zidian for all he cared that he might die, hell he'd rather Jiang Cheng maul him right here right now than straight up looking through him as if he was glass. Jiang Cheng flinched upon contact, but he didn't turn. Wei Wuxian was only perceptive enough to notice the shiver through the thick fabric of his shoulder, gone in a second, replaced instead with firm, tense muscles. . During a night hunt, Wei Wuxian gets his body back and is now responsible for telling his shidi what happened without having a chance to escape. Of course that went wrong as well, but in a different way than he imagined. It seems like no matter what happened, Wei Wuxian will always be surprised by the sheer unconditionality of Jiang Cheng's love and faith.
Author: yue_yinbai Words: 11,164 Chapters: 1
This is an au where WWX gets his body back and he has a lot of mixed feelings about it. Many other people have feelings. There's a heart to heart and a make up/feelings session with WWX and JC that is really sad but sweet to read about.
A Grand Immortal Made Me Soup
One thing had become incredibly clear. Wei Ying was much sicker than he had thought he was, and as a result, was now hallucinating. There was no reality where a Grand Immortal had actually shown up in his apartment, yelled at him about his shit-hole residence, and fed him soup. Absolutely in no way was a Grand Immortal in his apartment, and shitting on him for not finding a place that banned pets.
Author: s6115 Words: 5,040 Chapters: 1
This one's just hella funny but there is a bit of angst. Its a mix of an immortal au and a reincarnation au where JC is an immortal and WWX reincarnates in the modern world. Lowkey felt bad but it's a really heartwarming story. There are a lot of things that WWX doesn't get but he's trying.
The One-Body Problem
The good news is that Lan Jingyi has found a mentor, friend, and constant companion through the difficulties in life. The bad news is that that’s because he’s been accidentally possessed by the Yiling Patriarch.
Author: metisket Words: 28,689 Chapters: 2
LJY acts without thinking and gets possessed by WWX. It's such an interesting concept, especially since they are both hiding things from each other the whole time. It's a bit of a joyride tbh since yk LJY and WWX make an interesting combo but it's one of my favs
Tell Them How the Crowds Went Wild, Tell Them How I Hope They Shine
A-Yuan knows he has to be very careful in his new home. He has to be mindful of the hem of his pristine white robes, cautious of the volume of his voice, dutiful in his manners. A-Yuan has to be very, very good. Really, really good. Because otherwise, Baba might have to leave, like Mama. A-Yuan did not want to lose Baba too. Or: A-Yuan did not forget everything of the Burial Mounds - he remembered a bright smile, a cheerful laugh, the warmth of strong arms, and a single name. It's up to Lan Wangji to make sure he does not forget it all.
Author: GinnyRose Words: 4,598 Chapters: 1
This is told in LSZ's point of view. It's a bit angsty but not too bad.
i don't know how to be something you miss (i'll watch your life in pictures like i used to watch you sleep)
Wei Wuxian died. That should've been the end of it. He gained consciousness again in the Jingshi, unable to leave, while Lan Wangji was in seclusion. He proceeded to watch A-Yuan grow up.
Author: mfingenius Words: 7,071 Chapters: 1
This one is kinda sad. Halfway through I lowkey almost cried because of how bad I felt. I don't want to spoil but this one gave me the feels. I love ghost WWX aus and I actively search for them but this one- *chefs kiss*
A Dramatic Reading
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian make out in a room full of Sect Leaders, Jiang Cheng tearfully declares his love for his estranged brother, Sect Leaders Yao and Ouyang beg for the Yiling Patriarch’s forgiveness, and Lan Qiren openly welcomes a new nephew-in-law into his family. None of them want to be doing any of this. Thanks to the Juniors, they don’t exactly have a choice. (Or, wherein the Juniors accidentally write a cursed fanfiction, and everyone has to reenact their parts in it, or potentially cease to exist).
Author: pupeez4eva Words: 5,627 Chapters: 1
This is such a crack fic but is so damn funny. Everyone just wants to kill the juniors because their guilty pleasure of writing wangxian fanfics gets outed. LWJ and WWX don't get together post-canon and the juniors got sick of them and started writing cringy fanfiction. This fic cured some of the angst I've been reading.

Skip and Loafer Episode 11: Hype and Excitement
Friendships and bonds. The foundation of a social life, and even more important through periods like high school. Challenging and fickle things, but just as much parts of life to be thankful and grateful for. Under the guise of the Cultural Festival, we get to dive into that and set up for a big finale next episode.
But I'm not about to just cut to the end now, no. I've gotta start from the beginning!
One of the things I really do love about this series is how it paints a picture of people. They're never shriveled up and rude or mean without purpose, and their character flaws exist exactly as the name implies. They all have redeeming and positive attributes to them, like Kazakami here, but they also have shortcomings or "issues" that other people might find with them. It's just really nice seeing all the different facets of the characters that make up this story.
Now, just a quick interlude, I really like that they show us The Sound of Music early on. They breeze through it of course, but they also give us proper scenes and interactions. Why? Well, the whole thing is to sell Shima's acting abilities to his fellow students and the crowd, as well as showing that the play can go off without a hitch. Just a quick and simple little piece, but it does exactly what it wants to.
Anyways, back on track to where I wanted to go: Mitsumi and friends. She's a part of the students council work, so she bounces around everywhere during the festival. She doesn't have any real friends within the council, and she's not particularly close with everybody in her class, so she doesn't get much time to hang out with them.
Compare that to Mika who has friends from middle school show up, who she then runs off with, and you see where we're going. What I really liked about this though was that Mitsumi herself was aware of it and her feelings.
The difference in art style, the groupings of people that separate Mitsumi who resides under the spotlight, it's great at showing viewers just how isolated she suddenly feels. She doesn't have a past that ties her to Tokyo, and doesn't really have friends from outside school at all, so she's left wandering amongst the see of friends and family that have flocked to this event.
Mitsumi's wandering and mopey attitude bring her to Yuzuki, who breaths plenty of life into Mitsumi's world again, and takes over as the lead character for a few scenes. I really enjoy Yuzuki's character here, and I like that they approach the whole "relationship drama" of her past in a very brief and indirect way by having someone hit on her.
But that's hardly the best moment, this is.
I love it, it's so cute and precious and heartwarming, and does wonders for both Yuzuki and Makoto's characters. With Makoto, it's seeing her grow into a social person that's willing to accept people from different social groups and areas, and that she understands that just because Yuzuki's pretty and popular, it doesn't mean she exists on some sort of different level to her. It doesn't mean that she won't read the books you recommend her, or that she'll drop you for someone else. It's all about Makoto coming out of her cage and doing just fine.
And on the flip side, it's Yuzuki seeing that Makoto sees Yuzuki. Not.. glances at art piece, Murashige. Makoto looks past the superficial exterior that comes with how Yuzuki looks. She sees the Yuzuki that is kind and caring and accommodating, the one that loves her dog to death and is an incredible painter. She sees Yuzuki as an actual friend, not a chess piece in getting closer to some boy, or an obstacle that aims to steal away the person of your affection.
And to cap the moment off, they transition into a wonderfully warm and cute piece about all the girls hanging out together as their schedules meet up.
I just can't help but see it as hopelessly heartwarming. Yuzuki brings up the rear of the group in this scene and the next, and is the one that makes a comment on how it's only/already been six months and yet they're as close as their are. I just love how they use it to show that Yuzuki's reflecting on and appreciating the friends she's made at high school and how they see and treat her. She's a rather reserved girl, even if she tries to be outgoing. She's observant and tries her best to accommodate those around her, so being able to soak in the fact that she has friends that care about that side of her just warms my heart so much.
And then there's this little piece with Mitsumi. She just needed the pick me up of her friend Yuzuki and she got so much more that the pep in her step was literally put back in.
After that, day 2 of the festival begins and we take on a new focus, Shima (Sousuke) and his family. Though we start with Kanechika coaxing him into watching his drama club's play.
I really really love the dynamic between Kanechika and Shima, because it's all about Shima's jealousy in regards to Kanechika's passion, and using his senpai to speak about himself. Like this comment.
It sparks a whole conversation about what he wants to do with theater and acting, and at every turn Kanechika is sharing his passion and desire to exist within scriptwriting and screenplays. That they're a foundational part of himself. It's a really great piece that reflects Shima's reluctance and distaste for the profession, that gets exemplified while he watches the play.
Everybody else claps aside from Shima. Everybody else gives Kanechika praise, aside from Shima. Watching someone up there on stage, acting their heart out and reaping the excitement and satisfaction of it, it only serves to drag him deeper into his hole. To allow him to turn further in on himself with how much he despises his past and acting in general. It's a really, really great piece that allows him to regress as you might expect when exposed to the pieces that he's spent so long avoiding.
Of course, Shima's not allowed to wallow in his frustration and self-loathing long, as his younger half-brother got lost and ended up at his classroom. It's a pretty simple piece, but I like how it's through friends that Shima isn't allowed to run away from his problems and challenges. He's wary of approaching his step-brother who he hasn't spent much time with, and his friends understand that and drag him there anyways.
I really like the character choices for this as well. Mukai has always been on top of and aware of Shima's personal issues, so his nonchalant and frustrated attitude to Shima's hesitant nature is perfectly warranted, and Yamada works great here as well. He's not quite on the same level as Mukai, and you can tell by the more warm and cheerful delivery that means to poke fun at Shima lightly rather than complain. Two different sides of the same coin, and I think they execute on it really well, especially with how tensions and emotions tend to rise with events like this.
And aside from a teaser of what's to come next episode, that's where we end. I'd talk about direction, but well, it's basically everything I've already said before. Well used first person perspective, great depth and life in the scenes, the color and lighting work remain stellar, and so on and so forth. It's great work, but as we come towards the end of the season, there's not exactly a world of space and new content to mess around with.
Anyways, a really great episode overall about the importance of friendship and bonds that we explore through Mitsumi and (sorta) Shima, as well as further exploration and justification behind Shima's character and his actions as of late. It's all been really well built up to come to this climax where Shima acts in front of his mother and Ririka, so I can't wait to see how they approach it.

Countdown to 2023 - Day 1
First, am I the only one that is in total denial that we are just days away from 2023? Excuse me, but I'm still trying to figure out how it's not 2010... and here we are in 2023. One thing is true, my friends, time is swift, and while days may seem long, years go by in the blink of an eye. Please keep that in mind, always.
Day 1 - 3 writers or stories that made this year bright
Well, I'm so grateful to Dani for providing this directive: The number is just for fun; you are welcome to include more or less than the daily "guide" number. Because 3 just will not cut it.
I'm often hesitant to do these things because I absolutely hate leaving anyone feeling left out, but then I also lose the opportunity to celebrate some who have really been special to me. So, in that spirit, please understand that there is no way today's post, or those that follow, could ever completely capture everyone who has been an important part of my fandom experience this year. If we have interacted in any way, big or small, I see you, and you matter.
So, without further ado... here are my definitely more than 3 mentions for 2023.
@a-crepusculo My sweet, sweet friend. Your poetic writing, which often leaves me with the greatest case of imposter syndrome, is made more special for me because I know the beautiful soul that lies behind it. It's a reflection of you and who you are, and that reflection is beautiful. How happy I am whenever I see a notification that you've posted, and I know it's not something you can focus on now, but just know it's missed - and I hope you'll grace us with your work again. You're amazing.
@alwaysmychoices
Writing that is always absolutely captivating. I still am enthralled with watching Ethan and Charlie's relationship grow, unfurl, and grow again. You've made me dissolve into tears more times than I can count, and for this angst-lover, that is SUCH a GOOD thing! I'm so glad you're still sharing with us!
@genevievemd
How fortunate are we all to still have the love that is Gen and Ethan to look forward to? I'm serious. The fandom has dwindled for sure, but we are so lucky to still have cornerstones that remain - and you, my friend - are among them. I know it's been a bumpy ass year, but I'm so glad you're still here!
@jamespotterthefirst
I mean - the fics are incredible - but they're almost secondary at this point. I don't think I'd still be here if not for you this year. Thank you. Sincerely. But that doesn't mean your fics get to be ignored. The Allende family forever has my heart, and I find it hard to determine what I love more: Your heartwarming fics about them that leave me a puddle on the floor or your Ethan/Lilac smuts that leave puddles in other ways. 😂 I'm sitting here trying to pick one or two fics to highlight, to say this is what I remember most this year, and I can't because there are too many to name. I am so, so grateful for you, for your talent, and for still being willing to share it with us. Adjust that crown, baby, if you must - but never take it off!
@julia-highstorms
This year I fell in love with a new Choices story for the first time in a very, very long time. I'm now an official Wake the Dead stan. But, how sad that factors have led to the fandom being almost non-existent for new Choices stories. So, you can only imagine my excitement when I discovered Julia's incredible stories about Kiera and Eli. My only regret, I've already read them all! But I anxiously look forward to more.
@liaromancewriter
While I am a lover of all things angst, I am always so grateful for a soft spot to land after my heart is ripped to shreds. When I need that respite, I always know where to go, and that's to Mal. Though I have to admit, this year, she got me with a few angstier pieces too. You Weren't Meant for Me, and Reflections and Renewals come to mind. Our fandom may be growing ever smaller, but I'm so happy you're still here creating! 💕
@lilyoffandoms
I have to thank you for the lovely surprise fic where you brought your Merida and Ethan, Dani's Bryce and Olivia, and my crazy little Tobias & Casey together. I was just giddy, and I love that these three couples now have a shared moment in fandom history. I just wanted you to know how special that was to me! 💕
@lucy-268
Girl, what would I do without my favorite fellow Tobias stan and her incredible creation of Tobias and Samantha? You know how much I simply adore these two, and I love getting the backstories behind them. The original Tobias queen, I will always bow to you! 💕
@missameliep
Continuing on my reasons to be grateful for Wake the Dead, it also led to me being introduced to Dani's work and Dani as a person. Both of those things were highlights of my fandom experience in 2023. I simply adore her writing, her strong, beautiful MC Malia, and the special relationship she has with Troy. Safe is an absolute masterpiece, and the only reason I have not finished reading it yet is that I truly don't want it to end! I love your work, I've loved our conversations, and I'm so glad we've gotten to know each other better.
@storyofmychoices
This year, I had the pleasure of being introduced to Bryce and Olivia, and my heart will always be grateful! The only bad thing is time has yet to allow me to go back and follow this absolutely lovely duo right from the start. But I will, I assure you I will. This heartwarming duo is delightful on their own or when they're engaging with the little firecracker that is Keiki. I simply adore them all!
@trappedinfanfiction
My lovely "Tif". 😊 When I think of fandom joy this year, you immediately come to mind. I'm always so excited to see a notification from you and since I can't get enough of Ethan and Celia, I'm now happy to be going back to the past to find more. You're such an important part of the fandom, and you made 2023 infinitely better.
@potionsprefect
Another lovely cornerstone of our community. We can always count on you to bring Ethan love to us and, more importantly, bring the beautiful, spunky Victoria along with him (you know I'd pick her over him. lol) I know we say we'll be doing this together until we're in the old-folks home (though I'll be there LONG before you lol) and I hope we keep to that! The fandom wouldn't be the same without you!
A special shout-out to the newcomers who have joined the fandom this year. Some are new to Tumblr, and some are just new to creating, but they helped breathe new life and creativity, and I know I'm not alone in being so grateful for their presence here. @cariantha @mydemonsdrivealimo @mysticalgalaxysstuff @ofmischiefandmedicine @openheartforeverinmyheart Thank you for being part of this craziness and bringing joy to my year - and I'm sure others.
I know they're not really here anymore, but that does not mean that they weren't appreciated this year, and if they check-in, I want them to know that they're thought of: @choiceskatie @lem-20 @bex-la-get
Honorable mentions to @alj4890 @ambraambrose @choicesfanaf @coffeeheartaddict2 @gutsfics @heauxplesslydevoted @headoverheelsforramsey @hopelessromantic1352 @inlocusmads @lsvdw-blog @parisa-kh @peonierose @secretaryunpaid @socalwriterbee @takeharryandgo @takemyopenheart @the-pale-goddess @utterlyinevitable Each of you has helped keep our little crazy thing going despite the odds, and I hope you know you're appreciated!
I am confident I've forgotten people, and I'm even more confident I'll feel like shit about it, but trust me, as I said, if we've interacted in any way, you've made 2023 better!

hex's take on: whisper of the heart
i literally can't and won't shut up about this movie
best studio ghibli movie imo
i don't know why there aren't a lot of reader/writer girlies talking about it it is literally my dream romance
shizuku is just like me fr
seiji is so cute
they are just both amazing
so if you haven't watched it, a quick summary
it is about this girl shizuku, she's in middle school not too sure about her future but she LOVES to read. she's constantly checking books out of the library right, and she notices that in a lot of the books this guy's name appears (seiji) and she does what any teenage girl would do and starts wondering what is this guy like bc a little daydreaming never hurt nobody.
she also has a talent for writing as told by her friends so then she meets this guy and it's like an rivals to lovers but it really isn't and she discovers that this guy turns out to be seiji !!?? and not only does he read he is also really passionate about violin making and he his biggest dream is to go to Italy and learn how to. so his parents sent him in like an apprenticeship to see if he could actually make a living out of it, it was meant to last 2 months so he leaves and this makes shizuku realize that while she may not be really sure of her future, the people that surround her are, and she decides that, since she is as passionate about writing as seiji is about violin making, she will write a book before he comes back.
so after that shit summary (i swear i am more eloquent and funny when speaking) i will continue
i think this movie like all of the ghibli movies carries this nostalgic feeling, it makes you feel at home somehow
this film however feels a little more close to a real life story
seeing shizuku's interactions with her family that lives in a small, crowded apartment and that have to split chores due to a lack of time give the film a sense of realness i hadn't experienced with other ghibli productions
shizuku's actions and decisions are very on brand for a girl her age and i can really see myself in her, giving it all your all and then realizing that even after you've sacrificed so much it is not good enough is something we've all gone true and i think whisper of the heart does a really good job demonstrating this, but remaining hopeful that someday it will be enough
seijis and shizuku's relationship also feels very teenaged, falling hopelessly in love and seeing yourself with your middle school boyfriend while achieving almost impossible goals is what this movie means to me, but it gives me hope, it truly does
the confessions are so heartwarming, and the love that they share, as innocent as it is, feels real
anyway those are my thoughts, i really do love this movie
sorry if I completely butchered that summary
i swear that it is the sweetest most heartwarming movie ever
