She’s going to run the show in the bedroom, at least at first. Kagetora knows what she wants and how she’s going to get it from you. Her confidence betrays her lack of real knowledge; don’t point out how her fingers tremble as they take your pants off. She’s eager to get moving and you’ll have to slow her down if you want this to be good for both of you.

Kagetora wants you to fuck her hard enough to bruise and her stamina will always outlast yours. She clings to you, pressing as close as she can and kissing you hard. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Both characters have a tragic backstory when they entire family was killed, and both grew up becoming stronger to avenge them. What I like about such anime is that it’s admirable to see a character who went through pain and suffering but  emerging stronger as he or she discovers their true self while learning to overcome present challenges with the baggage of the past which is not easy.

I read the book ‘Legends of the Samurai’ and realized that quite a number of historical figures such as Uesugi Kenshin (Nagao Kagetora) had a tough childhood before he became known as the fearless Tiger of Echigo in his adulthood, able to defend his homeland and defeat stronger warlords like Takeda Shingen and Oda Nobunaga.  

When Kenshin was a child, his father went into battle but only to be betrayed and ambushed. With the army in disarray, Kenshin’s eldest brother took control and during the power struggle, Kenshin’s elder brother was killed and Kenshin became the next target as his eldest brother sees him as the next threat to his succession. As a result, he was hidden in Rinsen-ji temple where he spent his childhood years alone without a family, studying Buddhism and martial arts. 

Several years later, Kenshin reunites with his father’s old friend, Usami Sadamitsu, along with a few other loyal supporters of his late father. The reason they suddenly decided to find Kenshin after all these years is because his eldest brother, Harukage, had become a warlord, tearing the province apart. At first, Kenshin was reluctant to fight his own brother, even though his brother tried to kill him as a child and is believed to have killed his elder brother. 

Realizing that he has to take control of the province before it was destroyed by his brother, Kenshin finally agreed to wage war and succeeded in wresting control from Harukage and eventually became the head of the family clan of Nagao Clan, a retainer to the Uesugi Clan at the mere age of 19 years old.

Later, Kenshin provided a refuge to a lord, Uesugi Norimasa (Uesugi Clan), who fled from the expanding Hojo Clan. Kenshin later became his heir and changed the name from Nagao Kagetora to Uesugi Kenshin becoming the Lord of Echigo. Then two more lords requested help from Kenshin to defend their homelands from the expanding Takeda Clan. Realizing that Echigo might be the next target, Kenshin agreed to fight the war on two fronts, against Hojo and Takeda.

They underestimate Kenshin due to his young age and inexperience as a Lord but soon learn he is not someone to be trifle with. Even though he had no experience waging war outside of his province, he had proven capable in defending on his own turfs. Unlike most of the lords at the time, Kenshin had no interest in expanding his territory or becoming a Shogun like the ambitious Oda.

This is why Uesugi Kenshin remains my favorite Samurai of all. Because in an age where Samurai are ambitious for lands and titles, often times, letting power get into their heads and stepping over honor for greed, Uesugi Kenshin is one of those rare Samurai who remembered his place and why he became a Samurai. Perhaps because his hardships and his time with the monks during his childhood years shaped him into a better man than the others.

I recommend the film Heaven and Earth which is about Uesugi Kenshin. The actor’s portrayal of the character is excellent that I cannot see anyone else acting the role as the character is just as what I imagined him to be when I read about him.

Some inspiration for my AU's Herrah, more on her personality and the way she was raised in.

Note: I am only inspired by her description, but the appearance will be completely different, cause there is no way my AU Herrah would look like this:

Though it could change, but there will be alot of adjustments. Especially the constant smiling face. Actually, masked and secrets is a constant theme in the Game, I can actually work with that concept.

This is Nagao Kagetora from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order. At least the game version, she is based on the real life daimyo of Japan known as Uesugi Kenshin. That is just one of his more famous names, by birth Kenshin was named Nagao Kagetora. He actually changed his name twice to three times until he stuck with Uesugi Kenshin.

The part that inspired me the most is the game description of how Nagao Kagetora's followers perceive her and her lifestyle during a time of constant civil unrest.

Since she was born on a time of a civil war, she is already expected to be in the battle field. Raised in times of violence and strife.

During a fight, human emotions are usually suppressed, at least enough that it does not paralyze you on the spot, so fighting and killing will be easier. Your also not supposed to have any emotional attachments to who you are supposed to kill and hate. Killing a faceless dude you do not know is way more easier than killing, lets say, your own mother, or a friend you knew for 10 years.

Due to this lifestyle growing up, she only feels alive and truly human when she is in the field, where life and death in on the line. As a consequence, she don't understand the natural human emotions like anger and sadness during times of peace, at least some that does not involve killing people.

If she does smile, it's more like a hollow mask. Her attempt to be more social to people and keep them from being too scared of her.

I was inspired of some of that to my AU.

And as a fearsome warrior who was raised to kill their enemies, Herrah developed an ideology of accepting bloodlust, she will not hesitate to behead you on the spot if you even annoy her on little things or if she perceives you as a threat. For her, this is what is morally correct. Mutinies, betrayal and power machinations is a common thing she faced a lot during her career so it's either learn to kill to be killed.

As a warrior, she knows and accepts that she will have a ton of blood on her hands. To make it easier, She suppressed empathy, having no remorse for her enemies, imagining them to be faceless creatures that only needs to be taken down.

This suppression of empathy and any sympathetic emotion puts her on a mental headspace that allows her to be straight up ruthless and a monster on field. She was later dubbed the "Beast".

But her constant suppression of sympathetic emotions reached a point that she is surpressing other emotions that makes a "normal" human. During the more peaceful times, she can't fully get out of that mental headspace fast enough, sometimes never at all. The civilians in her home feels unnerved by her. Many are afraid she will kill them, cause she still looks like she is going to kill them if they move out of place.

She is aware she can't get out of her murder spunk, she just tries her best to smile. But then her smile appears plastic, lacking sincerity and more like a bad impression of what should be a smile.

Her own behavior to be more social feels hollow, like a mask to conceal her bloodlust and appear friendly for the sake of the civilians. It's not really working, people can tell it is false but they are too scared of her to say how awkward it looks, they already know how trigger happy she can be.

She dedicated herself to be the ideal killing machine and soldier for to her home and the royal family she served. Even at the cost of her own humanity.

Being on this constant state though, it keeps her senses alert 24/7. Treating everything, even a simple meet up as a battle.

She strategizes well, like a player who treats their pawns as mere expendable items and picks her allies carefully, rising to the racks to that she became the head of the army.

Her lack of hesitancy to kill also helped her foil a lot of assassinations and stop many coups she faced during her time as a general. If there is possible spy, traitor or coup, she will kill them with no trial. Eventually she gained the attention of the crown prince of her clan, who is more attracted to her unbeatable strength and her battle persona.

Like the good soldier she is, she devoted her time to Her prince and saved his life many times. No one ever dared to cross the "Beast", the ideal warrior and shadow of the crown prince.

Soon the Prince proposed to her and she accepted it, officially becoming Queen once the prince ascends the throne. This is mostly out of duty and also she wants to be truly human again without going to the blood-soaked battlefield and killing people.

One of the things she is looking forward to is giving birth.

Her whole career she is always praised for her violent kills, the heads of her enemies are her trophies and she is so used to the smell of blood that she actually find it more comforting than during times of peace when she was supposed to be relaxing in her home. She's expected to be an uncaring, heartless warrior, not a caring or nurturing figure.

The idea that she is not taking another's life, but helping to give life and be a nurturing human being is the one thing she hopes can restore her humanity again and fill that empty void in her heart due to years of suppressing her emotions. But even then she will have trouble raising the child properly without the help of her nanny turned Midwife cause, again she surpressed her emotions so much, it's very difficult for her to be honest or gentle.

She's a hardened warrior not a nurturing maiden, she finds comfort on a bloody ground not a soft bed. Her lullabies are war cries and screams of her enemies, not a soft gentle love song. A battlefield is not the best place to raise a child unless you want them to be a murder happy psychopath.

Even when she was a child, her own mother was also a soldier who would be absent for months, leaving Herrah to the care of her Nanny.

When her mother did return, she was so badly injured she would stay in bed for weeks, unable to play with Herrah. Even then there are times where her mother would have sudden PTSD attacks. The Nanny (later would be known as the Midwife) became a permanent part of Herrah's life and more of a mother figure than her actual mother.

Until one day she didn't return. It was after a week that Herrah fully understood that her mother was killed in battle. That inspired her to join the army and start suppressing emotions to not cry.

Since then, Herrah lived and breathe in the battlefield, and it fucked her up. She really do not want her child to grow up just like her, a shell of a human. But she also fears her future child will be killed or might too weak and be ostracized if she is not trained hard enough. In her society, strength and aggressiveness is far more respected that kind manners. Kind manners are seen as a sign of weakness since you have a greater chance of getting stabbed in the back if you are "weak hearted".

Her retainers and the clan members feared her due to her bloodlust, that later evolved to blind fanaticism.

Until she faced a battle were even the most ruthless soldier cannot win. A deadly plague hit her home home hard and her husband was one of the casualties.

I love how samurai during the Sengoku period changed their names when they levelled up.

The "One-eyed Dragon of Oshu", was born Date Bontenmaru, becoming Date Tojiro, before finally settling on Date Masamune.

Echigo's "God of War" started out as Nagao Kagetora, changing to Uesugi Masatora, Uesugi Terutora, and then finally Uesugi Kenshin.

I imagine them evolving mid-battle:

"ULTIMATE FORM MASAMUNE: ONE-EYED DRAGON... DOKUGANRYU!!!"

my fgo luck continues! and i got cu chulainn alter plus an sr ruler (forget her name but i dont know her lol) and an sr caster (nitocris?) and an sr archer emiya but like. he's got a buzz cut and looks angry so its def not the emiya i know lol

the only class i didnt have an sr/ssr for was berserker so i pulled on the banner today and boom, got him in one. the rest of my pulls didn't get more of him tho; ah well

and apparently i had gotten TWO ereshkigals at some pt but i do not remember 😂 guess I'll level her up after cu chulainn and archer gil since im done with my nagao kagetora now

bad luck in genshin impact tho :( got my third keqing instead of ayaka. gonna have to grind and spend money to hit pity again to get ayaka. the rumored banners that are forthcoming are not ones i care for (i have itto and kazuha and do not care for yelan... and kuki is cute but pulling for a 4star is a crapshoot)

so i can give ayaka my all! i WILL get my ice princess!! ive loved the ice princess style aesthetic for any character since i was little and just. ahh. i would have pulled for her earlier if i hadnt been saving for husbandos bc gacha games need all the husbando support...genshin is better abt it esp with ssr units than many other gachas but it is still lacking :(

now hopefully this luck transfers to genshin. i just hit soft pity last night so fingers crossed i win the 50/50 to get ayaka 👀 i promised my ayato id get him his sister!

(i was also v lucky with him tho. i got him at like 40 rolls and then i rolled like two more times and got him to c1. so maybe i wont win this next 50/50 since i just won it twice. but who knows?🤞)
