This is just my opinion but Radi never got over the Moth's picking another light, since for centuries, it was just her and the Moths. Now there's another option the Moth's can actually choose and they didn't pick her.
Edit:I have a headcannon that the Radiance is just not used to sharing or negotiating, or just physical diplomatic talks since she never needed to do it, it's the Moth's that do the talking. Not the same way PK's Kingdom and it's neighbors interact, with agreements, treaties, constant negotiation to reach a common interest and other diplomatic and boring stuff without wiping out the other party.
Like both as a nurture and nature thing, By nature bugs are territorial, but you can be formed based on your environment. The Radiance have lived within her own species for maybe centuries, she is raised and formed by it to be the "proper" status quo. That is what she preaches, eternal life that is unchanging. Now suddenly time caught up to her and "something" change. No one ever taught her this stuff so she is very much unprepared, mentally and physically for it. Does she have a mother or mentor to instruct how to do proper diplomacy? None, she only have herself, she can't adapt fast enough and literally got left behind. When she did finally adapt, it is filled with spite.
Though there is not record if the Moth Tribes abandonment was a quiet process, a violent one with PK and Radiance fighting each other over custody, I doubt it since the Radiance is in another plane of existence in the first place. Or the Moth were just naively curious at the new blood and left of their own. You can actually see the previous home of the Moth's and it was not fully demolished, just abandoned.
So there's this question I think about every so often when I think about Hollow Knight and it's this:
What caused Pale King and Radiance to be so wholly incapable of existing in the same space as one another?
Like, it's weird. Unn exists, so it doesn't appear as though either of them had an issue existing next to other gods. White Lady exists, so it doesn't look like either of them had an issue existing next to another light. The mushrooms exist, so it doesn't look like PK had an issue with hive-minds.
So what was it? What was the rub? What was that irreconcilable point?
What happened?

HK Human AU - Mood board for the Shade Manor no. 1
I mentioned that the Shade Lord's Mansion is supposedly a large Victorian colonial style mansion. But the interior is mostly inspired by these images, It's not exactly the correct interior but I stopped caring about historical accuracies.
This is the overall feel of what I was thinking for the Grand Staircase, a huge room with a very high ceiling that interconnects the building.
All the images are found in pinterest, they are not mine
Tumblr media
Though there is supposed to be a chandelier in the middle, just imagine one there. It's the aesthetic I love, the over-the-top ornaments and moldings. It have a classical touch and a feeling of fantasy-like grandeur, making you feel small.
And the balconies on the upper floors is just what I was thinking. There's also more balconies above the architrave, so it only adds to how tall the room is. There are many places where the shadows can hide. The flickering candles only making the darkness dance the more you stare at it.
Tumblr media
Imagine if you where standing on the bottom floor, looking up at empty balconies, knowing the enigmatic lord of the house is somewhere up there, spying on you. It only adds to the creepiness of the place.
All this makes Lucy wants to get out there.

HK magic human Shiro Series- Post 1
End of class and start of the Weekend.
Disclaimer: This is just a reimagining and fan fiction inspired by the Game Hollow Knight. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. This is not edited and shows bad use of grammar. You have been warned
-------------------
Riiiinggg!
The school bells ring the 5 pm alarm, indicating the end of class for the day. And for the Week, on a Friday, School has just finished for the day and all the students are eager to return home and enjoy the weekend..
In classroom 2-A, a rather pale-lookimg student is taking his time putting his various color-coded notebooks in his bag. This pale boy is named Shiro and is known to be the class introvert. Everyone is content to leave him be as Shiro seams to radiate a "LONER HERE" aura just by his presence, others tend to feel uncomfortable if they talk to him, as if they are disturbing on something. So they stay clear of him and hang out with the more social students. But one student in particular doesn’t seem to be able to read the room one nor sense Shiro's loner aura.
As the saying goes, ignorance is a bliss.
Said student popped in after his class was over.
“Hey Shiro! “
Xero walks in, avoiding the other students of Class 2-A who are walking in the opposite direction. He is in class 2-C, but he occasionally comes to chat with Shiro, or shamelessly copy his homework. Mostly the latter.
“Finally! Class is over, I thought Mister Turner would never stop talking about numbers, I swear he is going to work us to the ground.”
“Math is not that hard if you take the time to actually practice it. Though it was never your forte.”
“Easy for you to say Mister Honor student.”
“I just take the time to actually study. Something you need to do more than partying with your friends.”
“Hey, I can’t just reject an invite. They will think I'm a jerk if I refuse. As Team Captain I need to be there with my mates.”
“Do all sport’s teams need to hangout after school on a daily basis or is it just the Fencing club? You do have meetings twice a week.”
“We’re just really tight, help keep morale up you know, especially with the regional competition coming up. No one wants to be a depressed killjoy.”
He and Xero are the last ones in the class room by the time Shiro is done packing his bag. The two continue their way towards the main stairs.
“By the way, my mate's sister is celebrating her birthday today and they're having a dinner party at the newly opened restaurant. You know, the Barbecue house, I want you to come with me. You could use the time to relax and loosen up, you know, talk to other people.”
Xero said after they reached the ground floor.
“I already have friends.” Shiro responses.
“I’m your only friend. Really, you can be a cold asshole at times and people don't find it attractive. Why am I even still talking to you?”
“Maybe It’s because I helped you get your first A + and prevented you from getting kicked out of school? You normally don't talk to me unless you have homework trouble. Which reminds me, the finals are coming up.”
“That's next month. Plenty of time to study and relax so why start now?.”
“Typical of you to say that. You’re going to regret saying it after 2 week.”
“Hey, It's still 3 weeks away. Don't be a git. Well, you kinda are one but that’s not the point. My invitation is still open, I'll introduce you to Annie, she is really cute.”
“It's a no but thanks anyway, You know I don't like crowds that much.”
“Heh, never hurt asked.”
As soon as the pair crossed the entrance doors. A car's honk can be heard. On the left driveway, a pick-up car filled with students are seen waving at them. Xero waves back.
“That's my ride, See you on Monday.”
“See you Xero. Don't party too hard. If I see you on the news, you better find another tutor.
“Yes Mom, I’ll behave and return home by 10 pm.”
“Just go, your friends are going crazy with the car horn.”
Multiple honks can be heard now. The driver is clearly getting impatient and banging his steering wheel many times. Xero takes one last wave as his companion before running off towards the Van.
Standing alone in the entrance. Shiro watches the van leave before he starts his walk home.
As soon as Shiro reaches the middle of the school driveway, halfway between the School building and the Gate, he takes a pause.
He looks back at the large 4 storey building, now he has a clear view of the entire facade now. Looking upward he sees the roof deck where he usually eats lunch and just hides from the crowd. That area is more secluded and usually prohibited by students to get in, but he sneaks in anyway.
The building looks pretty standard of all public high schools. It's not a fancy private one for the elite rich. Emilitia Public High School is just simple and utilitarian.
The best thing about though is not the plain building, but the Wisteria Trees that surround it, in spring the whole school grounds is covered with many shades of white, yellow and pink. It would have been a beautiful sight, if it wasn't ruined by the floating bodies above it.
Right there meters above the building, Shiro can see some many floating bodies, like something out of the film Exorcist. He estimates around 25 or more. That much should have shaded the roof deck, casting a shadow on the ground but the odd thing is that it's not. The building is as bright as ever in the afternoon sun. But the bodies are still there, just levitating. What’s unnerving is that Shiro can feel one of them is staring right at him. Even with the huge distance between him and the building, he can feel a malicious glare at his direction.
No one even seems to notice them, only He can. To others he would be staring at the school building. Granted everyone already left, only the Guard is waiting at his designated Gate house, but no one ever commented, or panicked about floating corpses above the school building.
Which makes him believe that his foresight is acting up again. He knows his ability to see into the future can mess with his vision at times, usually he would ignore it to avoid a headache but this is much too realistic and gruesome to be just a fleeting possibility. This is not a what-if that branched off in another timeline.
Last month in his classroom, he saw a classmate of his he recognized fall down the roof, zooming down the window head first while Shiro was looking out, but the body was very translucent and always faded out like a ghost before it could hit the ground.
He knows it's a vision since at the same time, the same classmate he saw fall, is standing on his left, alive and not looking like a suicidal mess. Unless his classmate developed the ability to be at two places at once, but that's very unlikely.
Shiro spent time observing his classmate for a few days. Tailing him and noticed he is showing symptoms of depression, but he is actively trying to hide it. Shiro also learned that his classmates' parents recently divorced.
Luckily the classmate he was stalking decided to move with his mother to another town last week, preventing the vision from happening.
So what he saw was just a possibility IF the student didn’t move away, a fleeting what-if that broke time and space enough that Shiro was able to get a slight glimpse of it.
The more solid, realistic and steady the vision is, the greater chance of it actually happening in the present timeline.
Now he is having another vision and it’s something he can’t just ignore anymore.
Taking one last look, he noticed that most of the bodies are rather ethereal, not translucent but luminous. Only one is fully solid and has this pale glow on it. A dreadfully familiar glow.
With that in mind, he proceeds home, doing a quick wave at the school guard when he crosses the gate. His older sister will be leaving in 4 hours for her night shift at the convenience store. As long as he avoids the south store he'll be fine.
If the pale glow is what he is thinking, then he better start looking around town for any possible signs of illegal magic activity.
Guest he knows what he's doing for the weekend. His sister don't exactly knows about his abilities and he rather keep it that way. Less trouble, less questions and less headaches.
Shiro will have to wait until she leaves before he sneaks out to start his impromptu night "walks".

HK magic human Pale King series: I was a former Albino Magic king reincarnated as a kid trying to navigate high school, and I'm addicted to Coke
Very much inspired by those super long light novel titles and it pretty much explains itself. And I don't want to put that much effort on making those "deep" and edgy titles. I just put the contents straight on the cover. This is still part of my AU, so it's just INSPIRED by the game. Everyone are human, not bugs, and I did a of of liberties so there will be stuff that does not follow the game cannon, or fannon headcannon.
This is very PK centric and about him trying to navigate his modern high school life while trying to prevent people from knowing that he have the soul, memories and powers of living ancient relic who was the ruler of a fabled magic Kingdom nearly a millennia ago. Yes he have all the unexplained magic Wyrm bullsh*t like teleportation, mind-reading, make soul daggers appear out of nowhere, etc BUT he can never bring back the dead. Edit: PK here in NOT in another world, nor is it a time travel, it is in the same world set more than a thousands years in the future, to the modern future. This is not the Pale King himself, but simply inspired by him as a character, which is not saying much since there is barely any interaction except in flash backs and when we had to hit his actual corpse. More of an OC really.
This will be very tropey, episodic slice-of-life, a bit shounen and just for fun. Nothing to serious and shenanigans happen, both about him keeping his powers a secret, and his past coming back to haunt him.
Mainly inspired by Noragami and nearly all superhero magical girl/boy shows that takes place in high school, even Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura. Though I will also take some inspiration from the Fate Series, Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero, and Fate/Hollow Attaraxia. The last one is mostly for the Hollow pun.
Hashtag will be - #Shiro Series

New OC- A rogue Weaver named Spike
Disclaimer: This is of Original Characters for my human AU. This is just a reimagining and fan fiction in a setting that is more like a mix between Medieval and 18th Century. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. The only cannon character here is Herrah (who is not born yet), the King of Deepnest and the Weavers. All credits goes to Team Cherry.
So I am expanding on some more characters, a guy this time and formerly part of Herrah's home. I'll be referencing Pharloom here since it seams to be the home origin of the Weaver's before they came to Deepnest.
As a brief recap, Again everyone are human beings so I'll adjust the characters to fit it. Hollownest is called the Hollow Kingdom of the Mountains, but Deepnest is still called Deepnest for now until I come up with a better name for it.
Name: Spike aka the Rogue Weaver, Black Fang, Ghost of the Black Wilderness, Lone Weaver of Hollow Kingdom
Occupation: Mercenary, Hitman, Freelance Spy, Freelance bodyguard, Hunter, Part-time jeweler and seamster (a male seamstress)
Current home: The Black Wilderness and Gravestone town, Hollow Kingdom.
Affiliation: To himself
Relationship: Thorn-Grandfather (deceased), Fey- Mother (deceased)
He is a free Weaver who have no loyalty to Herrah's home or the Hollow Kingdom directly. As a free agent that lives on the Hollow Kingdom's border, he comes and goes s he pleases.
He also don't like Deepnest, it's ruler and the native people after the massacre that killed his forefather, Thorn. His mother, Fey, had to flee the place for her own safety. Only surviving through sheer force of will and stubborn refusal to die.
Spike is the descendant of Thorn, one of the first generation of Weaver clansman who just arrived to Deepnest from Pharloom. Since they are still adjusting to their new home, and the new political structure, some Weaver clansmen do not like how they are initially treated when they arrived.
The outsider Weavers are placed secondary and below more aggressive Deepnest natives. The Caste system permanently labels it. During that first years, the Weaver treatment was really bad and unfair since the Deeplings are still very wary and hostile to what they still see as outsiders and intruders. Some Weaver's are denied food since the Deeplings eats the food first, their new houses are not really spacious and placed very close to the village edge where they can get attacked by wild animals. Their movements within the village are also closely monitored, as if they are more like prisoners.
Spike's father and grandfather was part of a conspiracy against the current Deepnest King for his bad and unfair treatment of the newly arrived Weavers.
Of course the Deepnest natives are not happy about this.
To quell this rebellion, the King ordered a massacre of the rogue Weavers. They also included the direct family members like the women and children in case they were also part of the conspiracy. The place where the conspiring Weavers where staying was burned, destroying any records to making sure it won't be remembered or found again.
It worked though. Out of fear, the remaining Weaver clansmen stayed out of the Deeplings way ever since that brutal display. No rebellions were ever attempted again.
To compensate with their lack of size and strength, the Weaver's focus more on their natural talent and skill, stuff that the native Deeplings do not have. The use of magic seals was developed and mastered by then. It was so useful and vital to the prosperity of the Village, it helped shape Herrah's home to what is today.
Over the generations, the Weaver clan soon gained far more respect and was better treated now thanks to their contributions to the Tribe. The next generation of Deeplings started to see the Weavers as no longer as foreign intruders but very useful workers. But all the bad blood in the past is literally forced to be forgotten and never talked about.
Spike's grandfather was killed during the massacre but Spike's mother, Fey, barely escape to the hostile wilderness and caverns that surround the Deepling's home. The Deeplings stopped hunting her thinking she will perish in the hostile wilderness, a place she is unfamiliar of after a day or two.
But Fey manages to survive 5 month's of constant travelling, while pregnant with Spike. Though sheer force of will, she manages to reached the Hollow Kingdom border. Arrivin in the a town called Gravestone. There she gave birth to her only son, Spike.
It is a bit lawless since it is the farthest town within the Kingdom, and it's right next to the vast Black Wilderness that separates the Kingdom from the Deepling Caverns. The small town of Gravestone is not that strict and tend to be left on its own, run by the town Mayor whose family is one of the first settlers when the town was established.
That can also be said about everyone who stays in Gravestone. There families have settled there for 2-5 generations and are very adapted to the rough outdoor lifestyle with no power. Thanks to its distance from the capital, the location is also famous for folks who would want to escape their reputation and stay low, or start a new life. If they can adjust to the harsher environment.
The town is directly next to an untamed, hostile wilderness that can cause problems such as an occasional wild animal trespassing and sterilizing your own drinking water. It is so different from the luxurious lifestyle of the wealthy, none of the noble folk would want to set up home there.
With a population of 3,000 and a townsfolk with diverse and questionable backgrounds, Fey can blend in but she does not stay too long when the folk will start to be curios. Over time they stopped asking as they have gotten used to Fey's come-and-go behavior, seeing her as another person trying to start a new life.
After barely escaping a massacre that was ordered by the ruling monarch. She feels more comfortable if she is independent and living on her own, not aligned to any crown or royal family.
So she does not settle permanently in Gravestone, but goes back to the Wilderness to hunt and live off the natural untamed land. Though she returns to the Kingdom's border town to buy supplies, sell her kills or quietly steal from the town.
It's harsh in the Wilderness and there are very close calls where she though she will die, but there she is free. That's enough for her.
She earns enough from her hunting's, and other rare herbs she finds from the wild. The unique skills she learned from her old home are also unmatched so she can earn money from that. But she also does jobs such as assassinations and mercenary work.
But Fey knows when to quell her dislike to monarchs. She accept jobs that are requested from officials loyal to the crown, but it's only for money, food and other amenities she needs to take care of Spike. If she was given a bigger amount by adversaries to kill the officials, she won't hesitate to accept it. Unless she is paid double to change her mind.
But she draws the line on killing the crown princess, anyone close to her or joining the revolutionist who want to overthrown Princess Weiss. Fey is still dependent of the town of Gravestone for supplies the wilderness can not provide. The town is still part of the Kingdom even though it's not strictly controlled by it, so she would rather not have a wanted poster with her face and get kicked out of the town permanently. She can still sneak in but it's too much effort for her, and she grew attached to the townsfolk who don't ask too much about her past.
After hearing rumors' of the power struggle in the Capital, she decided to stay away from that. Focusing more on taking care of her son, Spike.
Fey taught everything she knows to Spike, including her grudge on the Deeplings for the massacre of her family. The Deeplings and Weavers during Herrah's generations have no idea of the massacre and are ignorant of the blood spilled since all records are wiped from their history. Raised to believe that the arrival of the Weavers were smooth, non-violent and that they have no issue on their new place below the natives. Some of the older Weavers still remember it but they are under strict order to never speak of it or they will have their tongues cut off by the secret police, or just taken care off.
And if the natives were told, they would react like Herrah and have no sympathy for the dead Weaver's since they were a threat to their home. Saying the massacre is a good thing since kept the Weaver's in their place.
Fey also told Spike tales of Pharloom, her old home. Including some of the unique songs and art that is more Weaver-centric. The current Weaver's of Deepnest are no longer allowed to sing or promote the Pharloom songs to the younger generation as the King and other natives fears it might start a rise on Weaver nationalism and drive them to try another rebellion.
Some of the old Pharloom customs, art and songs are only remembered by the much older folk who are dying due to old age, and Spike, the lone Weaver of Hollow Kingdom.
Spike's outfit have more bell-shapes and intricate details that is far closer to the original designs of Pharloom compared to the more geometric beast-centric design that the other Weavers have developed while living with the Deeplings.
Though Spike is not knowledgeable in seals, binding and magic, he is more skilled in poison, silent espionage and other survival tactics needed for living on his own in the Black Wilderness. And thanks to his mother, he is a skilled musician and have a good singing voice that he can be be mistaken as bard. He would also like to travel to Pharloom one day to know more about his heritage. If he had the money and map to that place, as the only map to Pharloom was burned during the massacre.
When Spike grew to his late teens, Fey died in the Wilderness from an opened wound. She and Spike was hunting deep in the forest at the time and could not reach the town fast enough for medical help.
Spike created a make shift grave stone for his mother near the Town border, but on a side of the Wilderness that is secluded. He knows his mother prefers to be in free land more than anything else.
Spike continued to do mercenary jobs, an occasional skill job on Gravestone. He also spends most of his time in the Black Wilderness, hunting and collecting the herbs his mother trained him to find. The town sees him as the lone hunter, who is a bit if an asshole and infamously bad at working with others, but really good at his job that they can't complain since he brings good meat and rare herbs that can only be found in the Wilderness. But the field he excels in the most is assassinations.
He is considered as one the best, and silent assassins in the Hollow Kingdom under the alias "Black Fang". Weiss knows about this "Black Fang" after she received news that one of her distant (and corrupt) cousin she never meet, was killed by him.

Expansion on OC Zorro's family (Xero's dad but not his mother's husband)
Disclaimer: At this point this is not even based on the game anymore and full of Original Character I made to expand on Xero's family. This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. The only cannon character here is Xero.
If you didn't read my previous post, please read it as it's a love triangle involving divorce, unrequited love and child hood friends that all takes place before Xero was born. He is completely innocent of the drama but it will affect his view of his father and his half siblings.
It can be too long to summarize but to make it brief, Zorro is Xero's dad but he is actually married and in love with Amarice. Xena is Xero's mom, she is Zorro's child hood friend who is in love with Zorro for years and still is even though Zorro is married.
This is to expand on the other character, basically Zorro's wife and 2 kids who are Xero's half siblings.
----
Amarice -
Zorro’s wife, mother of Grey and Zavier. A book savvy woman who runs her grandmother's trinket shop after said grandmother passed. She is constantly worried that Zorro’s selflessness and dedication to his job might get him killed one day.
That worry only got worst when Zorro was in a coma for 3 days, she would argue with Zorro about it. The stress eventually affected her second pregnancy, resulting in Zavier being born with a defective leg.
When Amarice first met Xena, she was charmed by Xena's fun and go to attitude, not really having any negative opinions about her. Zorro speaks very fondly and trusts Xena like a family member. She actually first mistaken Xena to be his ex-girlfriend with how close they are, but Zorro would scrunch up and compare that to incest. His reactions is really genuine so Amarice knew that Zorro don't see Xena romantically in any way.
When she heard rumors that her husband is sleeping with Xena and stayed in her house, she felt betrayed that Xena is in love with her husband and fears that she will try to get Zorro.
Even after divorcing her husband, she still have feelings for him and developed insomnia from constantly worrying that Zorro might end up with Xena due to their history. The insomnia got so bad that she can't sleep straight for 5 days and is loosing weight. This leave Amarice to be so tired that Grey had to take over the house and look after Zavier who is 3 years old at the time.
Officer Grey -
Amarice and Zorro’s eldest daughter, Zavier’s older sister and Xero’s older half-sister.
Followed her father’s footsteps and became a police investigator. She developed an independent mind set and is fiercely protective of her family. The typical strong older sister archetype.
She has low opinions on Xero as she blames him for her parents first divorce. Resulting in her father to leave, her mother to have a sleeping disorder, her younger brother Zavier to develop self-esteem issues in his youth. At a young age Grey had to be less of a child and bear more responsibilities in place of her mother.
But she never actually met her half-brother or know his name, her parents would always change the subject if she brought it up. Grey only knows that her dad has a son outside marriage and it resulted in her parents to divorce for 5 years.
She was 5 years old during the divorce and has a more clearer recollection of when her parents would fight. So Grey was 10 years old when Zorro and Amarice remarried.
She is strong-willed like her father, but less emotionally-driven like Xero due to having to look mature for her family after the divorce, as mature as a 10 year old can be.
Amarice started to be too tired from her growing insomnia and she would sometimes depend on sleeping pills if she couldn't sleep for 5 days. Grey's younger brother also has a physical impairment that makes it hard for him to climb the stairs so she needs to constantly assist him.
When her father returned she is wary due to experience of the divorce. But she is thankful he came back, she is also happy that her mother is sleeping better and Zavier is also getting more confident.
She now puts the divorce behind her, and looks up to Zorro even though the divorce is still a sour memory. Her father is also her main inspiration to be a police officer.
When She graduated the police academy, she was top of her class and is known as the "White Tiger" with how quickly she can flip from being calm to be insanely aggressive during fights, and how she can knock people out with one strong strategically aimed kick that may be magically enhanced.
Zavier -
Zorro’s second born, Grey’s younger brother and Xero’s older half-brother.
Grew up to be a young college teacher on literature and history, he is also working on his master’s degree. He was born with a defective leg and needs a crunch to walk. More forgiving and less assertive than Grey.
The defective leg is a side effect when his mother was constantly worrying about Zorro while she was pregnant with Zavier. This stress resulted in Zavier’s right leg being undeveloped in the womb. At first this gave him self-esteem issues, especially after his parents divorced. He used to believe that his condition was the cause of the divorce, as he is not “normal” like the other kids with 2 working legs.
Zavier was 3 when the divorce happened and was 8 when his father returned.
The university where Zavier is newly hired and studying his masters degree is also the same university that Shiro/PK is attending.

HK Human AU- Standard Love triangle Drama starring Xero's parents (OC's).
Since I really like to expand on Xero and Shiro's highschool life, I ended up expanding on Xero's family. But This is purely about his parents. Think of it as a standard family drama that involves a love triangle.
Disclaimer: At this point this is not even based on the game anymore and more like a telenovela filled with OC's. This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. The only cannon character here is Xero and he is not born yet.
Now for his parents:
Zorro - Xero’s father, a policeman and later captain who also has a strong sense of justice. Left when Xero was 5.
Xena - Xero’s mother and Zorro's childhood best friend. She is still in love with Zorro even though he is married to another woman but kept it to herself for Zorro's sake. Though she still clung to that dream of having a happy family with him.
-----------
This is set years before Xero was born. Zorro, his father, was a married man and a rising police officer, but he was also having arguments with his wife over the demands of his job. As a man dedicated to his career of upholding the law, he have a very strong sense of justice and would jump into risky situations that can almost get him killed. After he managed to diffuse a difficult kidnapping case, he got hurt badly and was hospitalized for days. His wife got extremely worried after this continued to go on, she did asked that Zorro take some time off or give the cases he is working on to someone else so he won’t end up in the hospital or worse, but he argues back that he is the only one who can be trusted with it.
Zorro is known in his precinct as one of the few who will always refuse bribes. Because he is unwilling to cooperate, Zorro tends to receive death threats which he would always miraculously evade. He is also constantly at odds with some of his own colleagues who have been accepting bribes, most of these are from rich parents who want to get their drug-using kids out of prison and to have all records wiped clean.
After a very tense summer involving a very unhappy business owner, lots of bullets flying in the precinct, and a very, very determined Zorro. All of his corrupt colleagues were exposed along with their contacts.
While Zorro was hailed as an incorruptible hero, his wife only got even more worried.
Zorro and his wife’s arguments got more heated over the months until Zorro could no longer stand the intense air anymore. He would leave the house for a few hours to calm down. If he can't return by the end of the day, he would go to his childhood best friend Xena to talk.
Xena is always willing to listen to Zorro complain, rant, and generally enjoy his company again but they never sleep in the same room. This would go on for half a year.
Sooner or later, people starts to notice Zorro leaving the house of a woman that is not his wife. Some of these people are those who don't like Zorro for being a "goody two-shoes" and not cooperating with their demands. If they cannot get him to bend, they can try to sabotage his personal life.
Eventually Zorro's wife heard rumors that Zorro was seeing another woman, and she demanded a divorce from Zorro if it is true.
Zorro is even more distraught and always denies this. The fights got worse until Zorro couldn't stay in his house anymore due to the intense air and questions from his youngest son.
Zorro decided to go to the only person he can trust and that is Xena. He stayed in Xena’s house to calm down and think of a way to diffuse the situation with his wife.
One night when the two were drinking the night away while chatting like college times, Zorro drank way too much from the stress on his job and his family. This left him in an emotionally and physically vulnerable state,
Xena, who is also drunk, she lost all self-control and only saw a way to get a night together with the man of her dreams, even if said man won’t remember it the next morning.
Xena was in love with Zorro ever since he saved her from bullies when they were 12 years old and encouraged her to be stronger in life. This led to Xena’s success in her career. Without Zorro, Xena would have never had the guts to aim high despite her family's poor background. She became the main breadwinner of her family, paying for her mother’s debts and medical bills. Now she have a stable job and enough money to pay for support her and her mother.
Normally she would keep her feelings to herself since Zorro is married to someone else. Zorro is not fully aware that Xena still harbors intense feelings for him as Xena keeps saying she is okay with Zorro’s marriage, and Zorro believes what his best friend is saying.
Even though this is far from the truth, Xena even once wrote a fanfiction of her and Zorro getting married. When she was invited to Zorro's wedding, she burned her old stories to hide it.
1 month after that drunken night, Xena started to feel sick and was confirmed to be pregnant. Internally she is happy that she is fulfilling her childhood fantasy of having a kid with Zorro. But Zorro is even more distraught now that he has actually cheated on his wife.
Zorro became a police officer due to his strong sense of justice, his dislike against unfairness that was born after living with his drunk and abusive father but he did something that is very unfair to not only his family, but also to Xena and his future child.
Zorro still loves his wife deeply and mostly sees Xena as a trusted friend more similar to a brother or a cousin, rather than a lover. He decided in the end that he will try to get back with his wife. But he kept on visiting Xena and spent some nights at her house to help her during her pregnancy. Xena is not mad at seeing Zorro again, in any case she will always welcome Zorro in her house, even though it hurts her to see him leave every time.
As soon as Xero was born, Zorro and his wife got in a huge fight and the two agreed on a divorce. Since then Zorro stayed in Xena’s house.
Despite falling out with his wife. Zorro and his wife still harbor feelings for each other and after 2 years they calmed down enough that they can talk to each other again without constantly pointing fingers. They also talked things out and rekindled their relationship.
Zorro’s wife, after 2 years of not talking with her ex-husband, calmed down enough to admit that her intense reactions and demands is what drove Zorro to leave the house. Zorro’s wife is still not exactly happy Zorro has a child with a woman she trusted in the past.
She and Xena actually got along when they met since Xena is kind and a generally fun person to be with, but now this felt like a huge betrayal. Zorro’s wife may not want to see Xena for a while. So when she and Zorro got back together, she told Zorro she would only agree to re-marry him if they start over again in a new town. That would mean Zorro will have to leave Xena and Xero.
Zorro, now aware of Xena’s infatuation for him, knows that she will not be happy about this and he fears it will affect their friendship. A friendship he values very much since it helped him survive his drunk and abusive father as a child. He also cares deeply for his youngest son Xero, who was named by combining Xena and Zorro’s names.
This is Xena’s idea. And while Zorro finds it a bit creepy, he lets Xena have her way since she looks really happy when she told him that and Zorro can’t get himself to ruin her happiness.
Zorro finds Xero really cute and sees his own energy and enthusiasm within Xero. But the situation starts to remind him of his own childhood when his father slowly became an alcoholic and unintentionally abusive when his own mother left to be with a younger man. At first Zorro didn’t understand why his parents were fighting, until he heard a slap when his mother hit his father and stormed out the door. Zorro remember nights where his father cried himself to sleep while Zorro just sat outside the bedroom door listening. Over the years Zorro witnessed his father slowly bring more alcohol, getting out less, eating far more and generally becoming more depressed until he became a shadow of the once-loving father Zorro knew. Soon Zorro’s father started to be more aggressive to Zorro over little things when he is drunk, channeling his anger of his failed marriage to Zorro.
Despite that, Zorro can never truly hate his father as he remembers he can be a great father when his mother was still around. But that was years ago and it Zorro accepted that his father is too broken. Zorro never visited his father ever since he left for college. Only returning when he was invited to do his father’s eulogy when he was older.
Zorro learned that his father died in the kitchen. He slipped and fell but his overweight body due to his unhealthy lifestyle made it too difficult for him to get up, or rather he don't any will to get up until he drowned in his own saliva.
Zorro is now scared that he is repeating what his mother did and don't want his kids to experience the same thing he did as a child. Watching their parents fight until one leaves and witness the remaining parent fall to crippling despair. He heard from his friends that his ex-wife has been suffering from growing insomnia and loosing weight ever since the divorce.
That one drunken night may have been a slip-up for Zorro but Xena never regretted it. And she still has that intense desire to keep Zorro which got even more stronger when Xero was born. So she starts looking at Zorro’s text messages when he is not looking, to find that Zorro and his ex wife are now on talking terms.
In fear of Zorro leaving, she starts guilt-tripping Zorro by using Xero as an excuse for him to stay or just abandon his previous family. Saying that Xero will be denied the love of a father his whole life compared to the 2 other kids who Zorro spent more years with, and said in her words “Xero’s future is better than theirs”.
But mentioning the other kids only made Zorro snap with the way Xena called them unimportant. He harshly explained that the 2 other kids she sees lowly off, are also two innocent naïve children who just experienced the pain of seeing their parents fight, not understanding any of it and end up blaming themselves. Before leaving, Zorro overheard his 3 year old son, who was born with a physical impairment, blame himself for his parents fighting. The young one believed the fight is because he was born missing a limb unlike the other normal kids.
Xena didn’t say anything afterwards after realizing how unhappy and miserable Zorro is. She knows of the relationship between Zorro and his father and how the situation now is starting to mirror Zorro’s parents.
When Zorro broke the news that he got back together with his ex-wife and the condition that he will leave the town once they remarry. Xena is heart-broken, but she still encourages Zorro to go. She has Xero now and that will have to be enough for her.
Xena named him by combining the names of hers and Zorro, as a way to preserve her dream of having a life together with Zorro even if it’s not a reality.
Continuation but it mostly expands the other characters.---

Disclaimer: This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. I will be taking inspiration from the game and also other historical stuff.
So in the last post about my Human AU, it ends Lucy's backstory arc. Spend more time building that just to reach this last part.
Lucy/ Radiance is fully confirmed to be a psychopath and cult-leader so far gone in her own delusional fantasy that she have absolutely no sense of remorse. She acts impulsively, views the world based on her own perspective and not others so she does not care or feel regret as long she got her goals,. She is also manipulative especially in using other people's desires and insecurities to benefit her sense of self-worth.
She also masterminded a terrorist attack by releasing toxic orange gas in a tram full of civilians. All in an attempt to kill one albino college kid she cannot manipulate. She was able to evade all suspicious by bribing and using her connections, other more stubborn investigators were quitely killed by Lucy's followers. But one kid manage to see through it all and avoid all hidden assassinations that he is so close to Lucy. The said albino started out trying to find his missing high school friend, only to end up with a list of missing people's cases that is always dismissed and a trail of dead investigators before him.
The Gas Attack left many with lung and internal damage so severe that some were hospitalized for a year. Thankfully no one died but it is forever a dark memory to the survivors and the city.
For this reason Lucy was locked in an asylum called "The Hollow Knight Institute" where she can't harm anyone else. Until she escaped with only one goal in her mind, revenge on the one kid who ruined her plans and put her in prison. (Even though technically it's bound to happen, she put herself there with the gas attack, the isolated cult and the missing people's report)

Regarding Sereh's friend, I mentioned that she was grieving for him. I first mentioned him in this post.
I just want to explain that he committed suicide in the theatre.
After Sereh confessed to Lucy that he is the one who showed her the old poster of the Planetarium and that he have been sneaking out of the theater to do dumpster diving.
Of course Lucy/Radiance is pissed that he have been sneaking out under her nose and being a "bad influence" to Sereh, so she punished him by going for days without food and chaining him in the basement. This may be a reflection on how she herself was locked up the the basement closet as punishment for intentionally breaking her Uncle's stuff, but she was only locked for 6-7 hours, never for 3 days straight. To make things worse she ordered her followers to beat his back.
Once that is over, he is being watched over constantly so he won't try to sneak out again He is also forbidden from ever interacting with Sereh again.
When he was caught trying to escape one day, he was permanently chained in the basement.
One night, desperate to escape from the theatre in anyway, he broke his drinking glass he keeps hidden and use the shards to cut his wrist.
News of what happened to him was kept secret and never mentioned again like he don't exist anymore. Sereh only learned a month later when she ask one of the members she trusts to not tattle to her mother. The member was supposed to bring his breakfast when instead he found a dead body in a pool of blood.

HK Human AU- Introducing Xero, Captain of the Fencing Team
Disclaimer: This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. Many will be so out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. I will be taking inspiration from the game and also other historical stuff.
Brief recap on the timeline, PK is a reincarnating man. He was a King just like the game, but that was lifetimes ago. In the modern present day, he is currently a high schooler, under a new name, Shiro. He actually goes by many names in the past, Shiro is just his latest one.
This is mostly to expand on the history between AU Xero and Shiro. Xero is reimagined as a mortal who stayed in the same high school as Shiro. He have no idea of Shiro's past and only see him as another student.
Actually, this can be a whole separate arc in itself, and more on a slice of life story. Maybe I can expand this further cause I'm a huge sucker for high school slice of life stories. No revolutions or family tragedies, just a jock trying to get his grades up by asking the antisocial nerd.
------
So I finally know where to put Xero in.
A plot device for PK/Shiro to start investigating Lucy's activities.
So the problem now is for me to expand the relationship between Xero and Shiro cause the two should have enough history that Shiro decided to do an investigation himself when Xero was reported missing.
The idea is PK/Shiro's current life, Xero was one of his former high school classmates he grew up with and the few he developed a bond with.
Not enough to be best friends, more like they spend a lot of time in high school and shared a lunch table everyday.
PK/Shiro, being the highly introverted and anti-social guy with a shit ton of trauma from his reincarnations, rarely shares anything about himself. Or interact with students like a normal person.
Xero, at first, found Shiro to be a lonely asshole and a cold weirdo with little to no friends. The guy have the highest grades, a model student to the teachers but rarely interacts with anyone. Like he built a icy invisible wall separating him from his classmates. Those that talk to him, including the teachers would sense a chill when ever he stares at them, like a look that can be interpreted as "Get straight to the point Peasant".
The whole school is divided on Shiro, some see him as a cold-hearted asshole with a superiority complex, others admire him cause he walks with an aura similar to royalty. Someone at the top, but also lonely and isolated. Shiro always seems to have a mysterious air that leaves everything to the imagination. So no one really knows him, all the good and bad stuff they say are purely gossip and assumptions, depending on which circle you stay in. There's even a small fanbase who just spends time making up stuff about Shiro. One of which was that Shiro is a descendant of a noble family.
Because of that PK/Shiro was dubbed the "Ice Queen" by the other students who don't like him. Even though he is a guy, they call him queen as a derogatory insult to his masculinity. He is also shorter and lankier than most guys, Xero towers over him by some inches.
Xero also assumed Shiro did not do any extra curricular activities as he would give an excuse not to, and spend the rest of the period sitting on the bleacher alone, either reading a book or observing others.
And Xero would rather avoid Shiro, if he didn't need his help with his grades.
Xero is very athletic and captain of the fencing club. But his own grades started to dwindle due to him neglecting his studies in favor of practicing his sword and hanging out with his friends.
His mother threatened to take away his sword and the Fencing coach said another failing grade will make him disqualify as team captain. At that point, Xero is desperate to get his grades up and he is notorious for being a very slow-learner.
His own team and friends pitched in to help him but it's not fast enough. He ask all the smart students, even those he don't know to help him. Some rejected it due to their own reasons, but those that did find it hard for him to learn fast enough as their study methods don't always work on Xero.
At that point there is only one student he didn't ask yet and it is the smartest student in school, the "Ice Queen".
Xero really didn't want to interact with the weirdo but he is running out of options so he confronted Shiro, really rudely too at first.
And of course Shiro said no because Xero was being rude ass for no reason other than judging someone based purely on gossip. But after Xero begged him and went on a minutes long desperate speech about how his life will be ruined, his future is in the line and that Shiro is the only one left he didn't ask. Shiro caved in and ask to meet on the roof after class.
Shiro is an expert when it comes to teaching, he spend more than a dozen lifetimes being a teacher himself. He don't even listen to his high school instructors, cause he already knows the lessons by heart. He even wrote some of the books they are using, though under a pen name.
And much to his displeasure, he found many biased alterations and mistranslations on his works by the editors.
Shiro also notices on how inadequate the school teaching methods are. So he is not surprised that students like Xero is having trouble keeping up.
During their time on the roof, Xero was surprised on how insightful and dedicated Shiro can be as a tutor. He is still cold and serious in class. But when it's their tutor time, Shiro is very observant with a patience of a God. He even tried to be more friendly.
It still looks awkward, like it makes him look so pathetic that you just feel sorry for Shiro's derpy attempt. But Shiro is trying to be more open than usual for Xero's sake since Xero needs to be more comfortable to be able to absorb the lessons faster.
He uses teaching techniques that came with a lifetime of experience to get the lesson into Xero's head. And when the day ends, Shiro ask that they spend a night in Xero's room so they can continue the lessons after dark. Xero, initially wanted to invite his friends in this impromptu sleep-over. He had sleep-overs before and was exited to do it again but Shiro convinced him not to for the sake of not being distracted.
And not surprisingly, after a few days Xero's grades starts to improve, enough that he don't need Shiro to tutor him every night.
Xero is really happy that he will still be team captain and is very grateful to Shiro. He still thinks Shiro is an antisocial ice queen, but an ice queen who saved his grades. And he appreciates that
Since then the two would occasionally hang-out on the roof top, usually when Xero needs help on his grades again.
Xero would also try, and fail, to get Shiro to open up. Anything about his personal life really, to which Shiro will quickly change to subject or distract Xero with a joke, a sarcastic remark or a prank.
Something that surprises Xero. Not the joke, it's the fact that Shiro, the school "Ice Queen" who is better than everyone else, is capable of saying jokes and pranks. Like a normal person. His sassy comments on things makes Xero laugh.
Shiro even gave him tips on fencing, further surprising Xero when Shiro is shown to be a natural with the blade. Constantly winning every time with no effort.
Xero also notices that Shiro have a coke addiction. Every time they meet on the rooftop for lunch, Xero always see Shiro holding a can of chilled diet coke. Slowly sipping the black liquid until an hour have passed and they hear the bell ring
That afternoon when lunch is over, Shiro went ahead to his classroom. Xero is left to clean-up since his class don't start for another 20 minutes, or he just don't want to stay in an empty classroom alone. He felt the empty coke can still cold to touch, even after 30 minutes of being exposed on the hot afternoon sun. This perplexed Xero, his own can of juice started to be lukewarm after 20 minutes on the roof, but Shiro's can of unhealthy black concentrated sugar stayed cool even after 30 minutes.
He pondered about this but eventually forgot to ask Shiro about the cold coke can after a night of partying out with his friends.
It's the same thing every week, Xero came across tiny details on Shiro that's very of the ordinary. Shiro complaining about a science book like he's the author, he's near perfect memory about any equations, he's sub-zero skin temperature. But Xero would forget about it after 3 days.
Xero is the type of person who would rather live things day-by-day and not put to much stress on details. He won't push too much on topics that the other is uncomfortable with, but he would try if his curiosity gets the best of him. This is one of the things Shiro appreciates about him.
The two grew apart when they graduated and went their separate ways.
Shiro admitted himself to a nearby university while Xero is on a fencing scholarship abroad.
And since Shiro practically have little to no social life, nor a permanent phone number, much to Xero's disappointment.
Xero still want to connect with his new introverted but secretly sassy friend. They promised to catch-up whenever Xero returns home from college abroad.
Shiro never heard from his only high school friend ever since, until he saw the news that Xero was reported missing.

HK Human AU- Hollow's Knight Institute for Psychiatric Care and their newest patient.
This is to expand on my magic human AU. As a brief recap, The Radiance is named Lucy and is a Broadway Theatre Actress, but the "Radiance" is a moniker and an alias that she uses to call herself during her shows.
Disclaimer: This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. So many will be Out of character and warped beyond recognition for the purpose of the plot. I will be taking inspiration from the game and also other historical stuff.
Now I'm going to reach what would be the counterpart of the infection and the Radiance's sealing within the Hollow Knight.
But the Hollow Knight is not a vessel, it is the name of an institute or asylum. A building and a vessel are both meant to house something or someone.
The actual Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel as a character will be a separate being.
If you are not aware, please read this for Lucy's backstory. It's actually a series of posts covering most of her childhood, the links are on the bottom. This will help explain things down cause she never born crazy.
All credits goes to Team Cherry, and the Vietnam war
This is a continuation of this post.
--------------------------------
Her shelter-turned-cult home won't remain a secret for too long. The authorities are getting reports on missing family members, college students who dropped out and never returned home. They also start receiving reports of an odd smell coming from the Theatre building.
Lucy's cult member did tortured some of the members as punishment for trying to leave. A few died from their wounds and they had to bury them under the floor boards in the basement.
But the one incident that busted her was when her followers attempted to release a deadly orange gas in a tram full of civilians.
One of the cult members is a female chemical engineer working for a pharmaceutical company, she just had a divorce which results to her having stress issues. Another is a war veteran, he is struggling with PTSD and don't know what to do with his life. Both of them where invited to the Theatre by a cult member who saw their struggles, saying the place can help them get peace of mind.
The engineer was able to smuggle chemicals from her company and together with the war veteran, they created a orange-colored toxic gas.
This is where the Pale King, or rather Shiro as he is called now, comes in, cause the gas attack is actually an attempt to kill him when he started his own investigation on the missing students. Some of their parents where his former student in his previous life, and he suspects the disappearances are connected to the other missing reports. But his main motivation is to find his former classmate, Xero, who is one of the missing people.
He noticed the investigation keeps going nowhere so he is doing it himself.
Lucy was able quickly evade all suspicions thanks to her own connections. She thinks Shiro is just a small college kid who can easily be dodged. But Shiro is not easily fooled, works fast and is very close to uncovering the Theatre. Lucy eventually saw him as a dangerous threat to her "home".
Shiro just happens to be taking the tram to the police station to share his discoveries. The cult members decided to use the opportunity to take him out there. The confined space of the tram makes it easy for them to trap him there, even though there are dozens of other civilians who are also using the tram.
The members went in first with plastic sealed bags filled with the gas and stabbed it with their umbrella, before quickly leaving. They also locked up the doors and the major exits of the tram carriage after they left, to make sure Shiro will not leave fast enough.
This gas won't really kill Shiro due to his supernatural origin and accelerated healing, but the other civilians that are locked up with him will.
Shiro/PK though, actually designed and help build the tram 150 years ago in his previous life, that is still being used in the present day. He knows every screw bolt, circuitry and the many safety latches he added there for emergencies such as this.
Though during it's initial release, the tram received a lot of criticism. Many call the thing as waste of money and the many security latches are a waste of resources. But Shiro stood his ground, he had to pull some strings and connections to make sure his original design will be used and not modified by future officials or technicians.
Now it is a City icon and tourist spot.
Thanks to his knowledge on the tram design, Shiro manage to get most of the civilians out of the tram but some inhaled too much and had to be admitted to the hospital. The gas cause irreparable damages to their internal organs and needed surgery. One woman was so badly injured, she needs to be on support for a year. In addition to months of rehabilitation.
PK/Shiro in his part, actually did foresaw something life threatening is going to happen in the tram even 150 year ago, but it's not specific on when and who.
Maybe the chord broke, or someone end up setting in on fire by accident, but a disaster will happen. Stuff like that happens nearly all the time but PK/Shiro is not taking any chances. That's why he is super insisted that no one touches his original design.
What he did not expect that that the disaster will be related to himself directly.
Meanwhile, Lucy is further enraged that a college kid evaded her again. Sereh, tired of her mother and still grieving the loss of her best friend, quickly escaped the Theatre. That was hard for her in the past since her mother is always watching But at this point she don't care if her mother Lucy will see her run out the front door in broad daylight, Sereh just want to get away from there as fast as she can.
She ran to PK/Shiro and the police. She quickly confessed to the gas attack and all the happenings in the Theatre.
With that information, The Theatre was quickly raided and Lucy was captured, along with her followers.
Inside, the police found the many images of Lucy in a madman's Shrine with a ton of candles and spoiled food offerings. They also found the smuggled chemicals to make the gas, and the dead bodies that are decomposing in the basement.
Shiro saw that one of the bodies have a complicated sword tattoo. The same design he drew for Xero 4years ago.
With all that evidence, Lucy and her followers was convicted for murder, mass terrorism and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Lucy, though, is labelled as too crazy and dangerous. She spend the whole trial doing nothing but yelling on how much she will make Shiro suffer for "poisoning" and stealing her daughter, destroying her "paradise", her "kingdom" and taking everything from her. Insanely calling him a demon and vowing revenge. Even the judge is starting to get unnerved by Lucy's insane ramblings.
She was imprisoned in a heavily guarded facility called "Hollow's Knight Institute for Psychiatric Care", located on Black Egg Hill.
PK/Shiro helped fund and design the place in his previous life to be a hospital where the mentally ill will be looked after 24/7. But it was recently converted to be an asylum for their newest patient, Lucy. Who quickly developed a bad reputation for constantly attacking the nurses.
As a former actress, she can act quite and appear docile for days only to snap the next minute. She charmed and convinced one of the interns she met everyday to give her a pair of scissors, saying arts and crafts is very therapeutic. Only to use it to gorge the eyes out of one of the nurses the next day, attempting to escape.
She now have to wear a white strait jacket during her raging episodes and only a few can interact with her.
Sereh, unlike her older sisters, was only given a few months in jail before she is let go. Sereh became the new legal owner of the Theatre building, but she request that it be demolished, saving a few items that she may find useful. This leaves Sereh homeless.
PK/Shiro, as gratitude for her part on the investigation, gave her enough money to support herself for a few years and start a new life.
This is good for Sereh as Lucy's arrest and the terrorist attack was headlined on every major newspaper and news channel. The City is still trying to recover from the Tram incident and see everything connected to Lucy with intense negativity. Public opinion is so bad, no one is going to hire Sereh when they know she is Lucy's daughter. It would be best for her to go to another town where it is not as affected, until the public calms down enough for her to return without all the bad press.
After Shiro and Sereh said their goodbyes, the first thing Sereh did with the money was travel to see the now abandoned Planetarium that her and her friend saw on that one flier during their youth.
When she arrived there at the delipidated structure, wearing a pair of round purple-tinted glasses she bought along the way. She looks sadly at it while holding a red scarf that once belonged to her late best friend.

HK Human AU- The Seer aka Sereh, Lucy's (Radiance AU) daughter Part 1
This is to expand on my magic human AU. As a brief recap, The Radiance is named Lucy and is a Broadway Theatre Actress, but the Radiance is a moniker and an alias that she uses to call herself during her shows. I am also introducing the counterpart of the Seer, also a human.
Disclaimer. If you are not aware, please read this for Lucy's backstory. It's actually a series of posts covering her entire childhood, the links are on the bottom. This will help explain things.
This is just a reimagining and fan fiction. So many will be Out of character and warped for the purpose is the plot. Radiance stans get away cause she is not nice and flawed to the extreme, like the game.
A toxic crazy person who thinks she is helping others, but she is too far gone and blinded by her own insecurities, fears and rage to realize it nor accept any help. To a point that her "love" is a exaggerated bastardization and a twisted parody of the idea that is for her own self-worth.
In other word, she's a psychopath underneath her grandiose charm. Though as an actress, she is skilled in her job, pretending and lie to an audience.
She a master of lies that she can appear very convincing to others, to a point she believe her own lies to hide the truth she refuse to accept. She don't even realize she have the traits of a psychopath, and that makes her even more dangerous.
All credits goes to Team Cherry.
------------
My human AU for the Seer is just named Sereh. Pronounced as "Sarah".
I envisioned her as Lucy's youngest daughter, who is a teenager at this point. She lives with her older siblings, all have different fathers. Most of them, Sereh's father included, are her mother's many fanatical fans who lives in the Lucy's Theatre-turned Homeless Shelter, those fans with really, really bad Celebrity Worship Syndrome, that is already at unhealthy levels. That is further reinforced by Lucy encouraging it.
Lucy did give them a home and security with food and luxuries, and "peace of mind" when they needed it, but the lifestyle she demands the homeless to live in and the way she runs the shelter is questionable.
And Sereh is one of the few who questions on the way her mother's runs the place.
All the tenants are required to treat Lucy as if she is the Messiah. They give some sort of tribute and praise every morning to Lucy. They are told that Lucy is the true center of the universe.
Sereh and her older siblings take Lucy's bathwater and give to the tenants to drink every night. Even bits of her hair is placed in cloth, which the tenants rub themselves.
And all of them are told that outsiders who do not follow their Lucy-centric belief are demons. No one is allowed to tell this to outsiders nor are some allowed to separate themselves from it. Usually only those selected are assigned to go outside to buy food, water and other luxury like clothes, bed linens, furniture, etc. They are the most loyal to Lucy and so indoctrinated that they are most likely to return.
They are professionals and young students during a difficult time on their lives, sometimes with their family, relationships or their future. This makes emotionally vulnerable that they quickly are charmed by Lucy.
They would go to the Theatre every after work, soon would spend a few months "vacation" there. Some kept it a secret from they existing families and kids. Until one day they would go out to get "cigarettes", and never return.
Those that do try to leave will be hunted down by Lucy's followers and forced back, usually with torture or manipulation with Lucy watching approvingly.
She does not like it when anyone leaves her, she helped them provide what she THEY need, they owe her their lives.
She needs them...no....THEY NEED HER.
She will not experience the loss of her family again, she have a new family now and she will make sure they all stay together for her THEIR SAKE. No matter how many bones will be broken, its for her THEIR OWN GOOD.
Death will not take them like her parents.
No one will leave her like her brother, that BACKSTABBING TRAITOR.
She is not crazy.. SHE'S HELPING THEM ESCAPE.
Escape suffering, escape their burdens.
A Paradise where her THEIR dreams come true and harsh reality can never touch it again.
Sereh, unlike her more blindly loyal older siblings, once had a friend within the shelter who joked about leaving. As children, they would chat under the covers about the outside world, how they would like to see exotic countries and even joke on how some of the things that they are told makes no sense. For the two, it's a child-like thrill of doing something the adults don't want, not really minding it.
But as they grow up, they start to realize how serious it can be, especially after Sereh witness her mother's extremely violent reaction when Sereh ask about seeing a Planetarium on the next town.
Sereh's friend likes to sneaked out and dumpster dive for small trinkets, pretending to be treasure hunting. He found an old 2 month old flier about a Planetarium but it's in the next town. He can't read since Lucy forbid them to, except for her and her closet confidants. Sereh, being Lucy's daughter have the privilege to be taught how to read.
The flier shows a surreal image of person floating in space, surrounded with the planets and the stars.
Sereh and her friend are quickly captivated by this image and decided they really like to experience this themselves. They originally planned to sneak out. But Sereh, after reading the text, is not familiar with the address, since she never set foot 10 meters away from the theatre. She is not aware it is the next town and decided to ask her mother, the only one she knows have the most travel experience. It was a big mistake.
Lucy snapped at her daughter on where she learned about something that she does not know, much worse the name of another town away from Lucy.
Then suddenly she calmed down, rather appeared to have calm down, but inside she is fuming with rage and barely controlled fear. She is an actress after all, she pretends and lies in front of people for a living.
Lucy then starts to ask questions on why Sereh would do such a horrible thing to her and guilt-tripping her with carefully picked words that will hit her daughter hard. Saying things in a very sweet and forgiving tone but if given the time to listen it carefully, you can tell it is overflowing with malicious poison.
It feels both natural and at the same time wrong cause her eyes display the complete opposite of her cool, sweet and forgiving voice. Merciless unforgiving Rage of a thousand Suns that is too far gone.

HK Human AU - Fern and Curve Movement
Note: this is just my AU and and my imagination gone wild. I am inspired by the characters but I end up changing a lot of their personality and the settings of their home. This is practically fanfiction. And World-building on growth of the Hollow Mountain "Architecture"
I am taking a HUGE page on the origins of the Arts and Crafts Movement in England, since the origins of that is also during the rise of the Industrial Revolution
Hollow Mountains didn't really have that unique art until they undergone what would be their Industrial Revolution Phase and the mass production of metal.
Their design is actually very simple before. More geometric but very utilitarian. A half egg for a house. Two pillars and a roof for a bigger house.
The "Fern and Curve Movement" was only made in response to the rise of metal and industrialization. Since machines look black and white, artist want to see the more natural curves and leaf design found in plants more. So they soon incorporate that into the metal work. This is later placed on architecture, product design, art and posters.
Metal work and mass production makes it easy for the art to spread to the masses.
At first, metal work is long and tenuous. Due to the long waiting period. It is priced so high that only nobles and the royal family can afford it. But due to the rise of mechanical engineering, it makes it possible for the public masses to afford the metal works that only the Aristocrats can have.
For the Aristocrats, since the metal works that was previously exclusive for them is now common, the objects have lost their value. They are now looking for and willing to pay more for customized hand-made products that a machine cannot replicate. These are done by skilled artisans that have so much experience and spend a lifetime perfecting their skills.
One of the best Artisans that became the icon of the Fern and Curve Movement is not even from the Hollow Mountains, but from the Verde Plains.

In my Human AU,
Since Radi/Lucy is mortal and have really bad abandonment issues. She end up being toxic to others in an effort to get them to not leave her. She was not initially toxic, but it started once her parents died. At first it was only towards her brother. She did not like his gothic attire, his interest in the occult, or him having ambitions that does not involve her, fearing he will die like their parents if she is not there. It came to a point that he got so tired by her restricting attitude that he left.
Without her main emotional support, She turns to the homeless fans she housed in her theater-turned shelter. But traumatized by what her brother did, and her time in her Uncle's Shade Manor, she start's lying to the people, controlling, gas-lighting, getting snappy and tend to jump to conclusions.
She actually shares this trait with her Shady Uncle.
Before she was born, when her father was still living in the Shade Manor. Her Uncle keeps lying and starts being more controlling toward her father during his teen years for having interest on a woman the Shade Lord do not approve. That woman is an opera singer who would soon the the twin's mother. That's one of the main reasons Gilbert & Lucy's father left the Shade Manor and never called back.
This over emotional behavior may be attributed to the intense amount of Void in the Shade Manor. The structure is built over the Void Ruins and some starts to leak upward. Light can fight the effects, but only if it is exposed for long periods of time. Since the Shade lord and his family have a bloodline that is adapted to the Void, they don't have that much effects, except in the more concentrated parts that is the basements. There is a door that leads to a series of tunnels down directly to the Void lake, every time the door is being opened, Void air leaks out to the Basement.
The Shady Uncle is a direct descendant of nomadic mystics who learned to utilize the Void after nearly a thousand years of adapting and studying it. They are not as affected as an ordinary man and inhaling air void no longer rots their bodies, but a more solid and concentrated Void in a liquid form will.
Their immunity is not perfect though and they will still have the effects on their emotion behavior it they inhale beyond their immunity's limits. This immunity will also decrease if the one of the mystics will have a child with one without it. The child will only have half the immunity.
This happened with Gilbert and Lucy. They only have half of that immunity their Uncle have since their mother is an ordinary person with no connection to that nomadic mystics. So while their uncle can do down to the Void ruins and return unharmed, the twins won't.
Lucy, when she is locked in the basement closet as punishment for all the trouble she caused in the Manor, got more exposed to the more concentrated Void air that is more prominent in the basement. It's only a very small percentage but it played a part on her attitude being far more toxic. Further enhancing her already intense abandonment issues and fears to a point she became abusive and controlling to her brother.
My AU Void have dangerous effects on the emotional behavior of those who are exposed too much to it. If you do not have some sort of immunity or supernatural ways to stop it's effects, you'll start having bouts of mood swings you cannot control. The smallest things that can be ignored before will enrage you, or you will overreact on things to a point that you become unreasonably violent.
And that's just inhaling void air. Solid/liquid void will rot and eat through any organic material it touches. The religious priest of the Ancient Void city started drinking void in their madden state, and it killed them immediately.
This is one of the reasons the Void City fell, almost every prominent leader, scientist, and religious cleric went mad with Void in the brain. Foreign invader's took advantage to this and attacked the City. Burning it t to the ground until it is the Ruins you see now. From an outside perspective, the foreign invader's saw how bad the effects of void is and tried hard to erase it from history.
Didn't work out since a tribe of nomadic mystics found it and saw the potential of the Void. They kept it's location a well guarded secret.
Learning for what happened to the destroyed city, they exposed themselves to void at a very, very slow rate, not immediate like the dead civilians. Over the generations, approximately 500 years, they soon adapted to withstand the Void, developing an immunity gene that can be passed down. But both parents needs to have the immunity so that unique gene will be passed down at 100%. If one parent lacks it, the child will only have 50% of that immunity gene.
