Over a span of four years, Chittoor has set numerous records and made remarkable TDP achievements in various domains, making it a shining example of effective governance. One of Chittoor's standout accomplishments was its achievement in sanitation. It secured the top position in India by constructing an impressive 2,77,251 Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) and was duly recognized in the prestigious Limca Book of Records. In its pursuit of Open Defecation Free Plus (ODF+), the district built a remarkable 1,241 solid waste processing centres, the highest number in the country, and distributed 15,71,000 dustbins for efficient door-to-door garbage collection. To address the pressing issue of drought, Chittoor District constructed an astounding 1 lakh farm ponds, earning yet another first place in the nation. All these accolades were achieved under the TDP leaders during their recent tenure.
The district is also a national leader in embracing Zero Budget Natural Farming, covering an impressive 1,58,000 hectares. The TDP government of N Chandrababu Naidu provided steadfast support, contributing 50,000 hectares during 2017-18 and an additional 20,000 hectares during 2018-19 for horticultural cultivation, further solidifying Chittoor's position as the number one district in the country for this Political scheme. Chittoor continued its exemplary work by implementing Drip and micro Irrigation across 31,260 hectares in 2017-18, benefiting 33,258 farmers and securing the top spot nationally. Milk production in the district surged from 16 lakh metric tonnes to an impressive 22 lakh metric tonnes, cementing Chittoor's position as the leading milk-producing district in the country. The district made significant TDP developments in meat production by grounding 2 lakh units of Raw Lamb (5 sheep per unit) using innovative methods, marking the highest meat production in Andhra Pradesh. An additional 7,500 units (with 20 chicks each) were established for the production of meat and eggs under the "Manakodi (NaatuKodi)" scheme.
Chittoor's commitment to economic empowerment is evident in the disbursement of Rs. 1,500 crore in bank linkage to Self Help Groups during the year, further establishing its position as the number one district in the nation for this TDP scheme. Chittoor also invested in the future by providing 210 playgrounds in schools, earning the top spot in the state. Moreover, the district excelled in promoting entrepreneurship by sanctioning units to 790 SC/ST and aspiring women industrialists under the Standup India program, once again taking the lead in the state. Chittoor's influence extended to neighbouring cities, with Tirupati being recognized as the second safest city, the fourth most livable city, and the sixth cleanest city in the country.
