Can you please do more of the mk and Lloyd being half brother au I love it so much
Absolutely!
In the revamped edition of the LMK x N: MoS AU, I mentioned that MK’s got relatives from his mother’s side of the family.
=3 Those relatives? Kai and Nya.
After the LBD debacle is over with, Garmadon decides he can’t stay in the Underworld any longer. He had to stand by as a shadow and even though he gave support through his Skulkin army and the many weapons and instructions he provided to fight she who is a 6!+€# with, he still feels like he didn’t do much.
So he tells the group that he’s got some organizing to do in the Underworld and won’t be around for a while. MK and Lloyd know that their father is up to something, because this is Garmadon. The boys aren’t the only ones to know something is up though, but they need to cleanup after LBD’s reign of terror, so they can’t split their focus and after Garmadon helped them out so much, they can’t say he’s wholly evil to do anything too bad, right?
Well … Garmadon wouldn’t do anything too bad.
And here’s where things start to differ for the Ninjago portion of the AU. Nya was the one to be kidnapped in the Ninjago special, yeah? We’re flipping the script and it’s Kai that’s kidnapped.
Since Kai looks like MK slightly, and the Skulkin report with pictures of the targets, Garmadon sees the resemblance and look the man misses his sons and he’s curious at the resemblance Kai has to MK. So instead of Nya he has the Skulkin kidnap Kai. Garmadon was never in his right mind, his nature as a family man - and nobody can pry that from my hands that Garmadon was and is a family man when it came down to it - fighting against the evil that he was cursed with.
This leads to Nya getting trained as the water ninja and unlocking her powers there because Wu doesn’t understand what his brother is playing at but if it’s using Kai to get the sword because Kai is the fire ninja well what beats fire but water?
So when Kai gets kidnapped and brought to Garmadon, Kai is freaked because that’s LORD GARMADON and Kai is tied up. He can’t defend himself. Garmadon is also staring at him and that unnerves Kai a great deal. Garmadon then comments at how uncanny it is, and while Kai is confused and scared he’s more confused, and asks what’s uncanny.
Garmadon tells Kai truthfully that Kai looks like his son. Which cue Kai.exe stopped working. Wtf?
So I did have a thought about after Kai is freed and all the thing is Garmadon had actually talked to Kai and revealed information that caused Kai to have doubts about Wu. Information regarding Kai and Nya’s parents and their past. So Kai isn’t very trusting of Wu, which causes a lot of tension. Because of what Garmadon said about Kai looking like MK, Kai later got a DNA test done to check for any other relatives he and Nya have. And lo and behold the system did find some relatives out of Ninjago - some very distant relatives.
MK and co train Kai after finding it out, especially because Kai contacted them on what happened to Garmadon. To say the boys are less than pleased with their father is an understatement, but hey, at least they found out about there being family in Ninjago outside their uncle!

For the past 6 months, production of the musical has come to a near stop. Because of this we have decided to transform only the final battle into a musical. We still have plans on transforming the first two seasons into a musical, only if the final battle is a success.

Alright, okay. This won’t leave me alone, so I’m gonna make it everyone else’s problem.
A Lego Monkie Kid x Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu AU where MK and Lloyd are half-brothers.
How, you’re gonna wonder? A younger Garmadon had a fling with MK’s mother while she was visiting Ninjago for vacation. She didn’t realize she was pregnant until she was back in China, and unfortunately, she couldn’t get into contact with Garmadon since they didn’t exchange information.
MK’s mother died giving birth to him, and while he was taken in by her family, they didn’t like MK because one, he was born out of wedlock, and two, they blamed him for the death of his mother. Pigsy and Tang (freenoodleshipping4life!) adopted MK when they found a little waif rummaging around the garbage cans behind the restaurant. MK’s bio fam was charged with child neglect, endangerment, and abuse and taken away.
MK always had weird dreams, MK’s dreams including weapons made of gold, a man swathed in darkness, colorful and sparkly tornados, snake people, and skeleton warriors. Pigsy and Tang chalked it up to him just being very imaginative, although they worried because some of what MK drew from his dreams was frightening. They got MK to talk to Sandy about them, and MK stopped having dreams - what they thought. He just kept it a secret he was still having those dreams, hiding his drawings.
When MK and Lloyd started dreaming about one another, they found that they were actually sharing dreams, which baffled them as they didn’t understand how? Nonetheless, the two made good with the situation and talked, Lloyd finding a friend and older brother figure in MK whereas MK found a friend and little brother figure in Lloyd.
When MK learned about Lloyd’s situation at Darkley’s, he said as upset. He knew what it was like to be somewhere with people that made you feel unwanted and unloved, fearful of your safety, and he didn’t want Lloyd to continue being in such a situation. MK had confided in Mei about his dreams and Lloyd, and Mei believed him as she didn’t have a reason not to believe MK, he never lied to her about something so serious-sounding before, after all!
They devised a plan to go to Ninjago to get Lloyd. Mei told her parents that she wanted to go to Ninjago to check out the history there since the place had a lot of interesting history, and she wanted to bring MK along since she thought he’d get a kick out of it. They reluctantly agreed since Mei was showing an interest in the history of something and with MK, she was less likely to get into any trouble. Pigsy and Tang got convinced since they thought a change of scenery would be good for MK, who seemed agitated as of late.
MK told Lloyd about the plan, and Lloyd told MK that the best place they’d be able to meet is Ninjago City, since Darkley’s was taking a field trip there. The boys have some kind of guardian watching out for them to have that kind of luck. (It later gets learned that it was the FSM whispering in some ears. He wanted to change his grandsons’ destinies.)
The only issue that happened in getting Lloyd away was that the principal tried stopping them until Mei threatened him. Never underestimate a descendant of dragons!
The three return to China where it got explained to Pigsy and Tang that while on the trip, they found Lloyd who was running away from his school and that he didn’t have anyone else wanting him. While initially hesitant, the two decided to adopt Lloyd as well since the kid needed stability in his life, but also because Lloyd had the same lost and vulnerable look on his face they remembered MK having before they took him in.
And for a while, everything went well until Lord Garmadon came a-knockin, trying to find where his son had gone.

Garmadon had gone to check that his son was doing alright, but when he saw Lloyd wasn’t at Darkley’s, he freaked out. He knew Lloyd was having trouble at Darkley’s and was trying to get free to rule Ninjago not just so he could be ruler, but also for Lloyd to have a home where he’d be well protected. After first checking to see if Lloyd wasn’t with his uncle, Garmadon then went to search on his own when he saw Lloyd wasn’t. Garmadon didn’t want to alert Wu to Lloyd’s disappearance until he absolutely had to, since he knew Wu was more than likely to leave Lloyd back at Darkley’s.
Garmadon used a spell to search for Lloyd by using their shared blood, only to discover he wasn’t in Ninjago at all, but China! Thanks to the spell allowing Garmadon to search for Lloyd by using their shared blood, he was able to travel to Megapolis to search for Lloyd, but something occurred confusing Garmadon when he found two different directions, the spell saying his son was in two different locations at the same time.
Garmadon checked the first location and found Lloyd at an arcade with a young woman, playing the claw machine. Lloyd looked happy and so Garmadon knew Lloyd was somewhere that at least made him happy, and in the meantime, Garmadon reasoned with himself, Lloyd would be safely away from Ninjago while he worked to free himself, so nobody could use Lloyd against him.
Garmadon then went to check the other location to see what all that was about, only to discover a young man bearing that bore a resemblance to not only the woman Garmadon remembered having a fling with when he was younger, but himself. Garmadon then realized the spell did in fact work right, as the spell was meant to help him locate his blood - and it brought him to both his sons.
Garmadon wanted to know how Lloyd got to China in the first place, but he was also curious - read: rabid - to find out about his other, older son. Garmadon had then been pleasantly surprised when Lloyd and MK - as Garmadon learned his other son’s preferred name was - knew each other, and that they both lived under the same roof!
Garmadon revealed himself to both his sons, their adoptive fathers, and Mei, startling them. Lloyd was then happy to see his father, while the others were apprehensive. MK and Mei knew about Garmadon because Lloyd had told MK during their shared dreams, and Mei knew from MK, whereas Pigsy and Tang hadn’t known, only knowing something had been weird with Lloyd. They recognized however Garmadon from MK’s drawings as the man swathed in shadows.
Garmadon introduced himself, thanking Pigsy and Tang for taking care of his sons, which caused a pause for the five. “Sons, as in plural?” Garmadon then tells them it was a surprise when he searched for Lloyd when he couldn’t find him at Darkley’s or his uncle’s that a spell he used brought him to China, and what’s more, showed two different directions. He saw Lloyd and Mei at the arcade, which made Garmadon happy to see his son having fun, and then he went to check the other location to see what that all was about, only to find an older boy that resembled both himself and a woman he once had a relationship with.
This threw the five for a loop. MK and Lloyd were actual brothers?! A slip of the tongue from Mei regarding how that would explain the dreams has Pigsy and Tang questioning the three, and Pigsy, Tang, and Garmadon learn how MK and Lloyd had shared dreams.
MK revealed to Pigsy and Tang that he never stopped having those dreams, he just kept it quiet since he didn’t want to worry them. But he later started having dreams about Lloyd, and Lloyd tells how he started having dreams about MK. When they realized they were somehow sharing dreams, it just became a way for them to have someone to talk to. It’s ironic how they’re actually brothers, but when they didn’t know, grew close enough to one another to see each other that way. Lloyd confided in MK about his situation at Darkley’s, and MK told Mei. They then planned to take Lloyd away from Darkley’s since MK didn’t want someone else in a situation where they felt unwanted, unloved, and unsafe.
Pigsy and Tang tell MK that he could’ve told them, that the reason they worried about the dreams was because some of what MK dreamt made them scared for what he was seeing. Garmadon questions what that was, and MK reluctantly reveals that it was dreams about weapons made of gold, a man swathed in shadows, colorful and sparkly tornados, snake people, and skeleton warriors. Garmadon reveals that is all actual things that happened, explaining how the four golden weapons of the First Spinjitzu Master, his father, the boys’ grandfather, had used those weapons to create Ninjago - blowing the five’s minds at the concept - and that the snake people were the Serpentine, a race of snake warriors that had been sealed away, and the skeleton warriors are his own army. It’s then pointed out that he’s the man swathed in shadows, to which Garmadon agrees. MK’s dreams are all things that happened before, meaning he’s been actually dreaming of the past.
When questioned as to why he’s been dreaming of the past, Garmadon reveals that he doesn’t actually know. He admits that their family has always been a bit strange. (The truth is actually that MK had always wondered about his father, and his dreams were a response from the First Spinjitzu Master, who had some influence on his family and wanted his grandsons to meet so that they can redesign their destinies.)
When asked about the tornados, Garmadon explains about spinjitzu, a close-combat martial arts technique that his father created that allowed the user to tap into their inner balance while spinning rapidly, creating a tornado-like vortex of energy around themselves. He explains that it’s an art of rotation, which adds force and momentum to blows.
Pigsy then asks Garmadon what’s going to happen now, Pigsy not liking the fact that the boys’ father is a banished evil tyrant bent on overtaking a country. The truth of the boys’ father doesn’t change anything in Pigsy’s eyes about them, just gives him more reason to protect them. But Garmadon assures Pigsy and Tang that he won’t bring harm to the boys. All he wanted for Lloyd was to see him safe, and now that he knows about MK, it’s the same thing, and he’s glad that both have a loving home that has kept them safe.
When questioned why he left Lloyd at Darkley’s, Garmadon explains that he would have rather left Lloyd in Wu’s care than at Darkley’s, for the simplest reason Garmadon knew his brother would at least care about Lloyd. But that hadn’t happened, as Wu had worried that Lloyd would’ve been in danger at the monastery, which wasn’t wrong, but still. The only upside to Darkley’s was that they fed their students and had to care at least for their health, but Garmadon had been looking at alternatives. There were no other options he could find to bring his son somewhere else, that is until this strike of luck in that both his boys found each other.
When Garmadon questioned MK as to where his mother was, MK revealed his mother died giving birth to him. His birth family didn’t want him, and Pigsy and Tang took him in when he was about Lloyd’s age, if a slight bit older. When he learned about Lloyd’s situation at Darkley’s, MK just couldn’t stand the thought of someone else going through what he did, especially when he saw Lloyd as a little brother even then.
Garmadon, furious at what his oldest son went through with his birth family, told Pigsy and Tang that he was eternally grateful to them for taking in both boys and giving them the love and care they needed from a family. Pigsy and Tang were surprised but accepted Garmadon’s thanks.
When Pigsy again asked what’s going to happen next, what are Garmadon’s plans, Garmadon explains that the spell he used to track Lloyd with drains him when in use for too long, so the only way he’d be able to spend time with his sons outside the spell is literally in their dreams, the same way MK and Lloyd share dreams, and he won’t do that unless they agree. Lloyd eagerly says yes since it would mean getting to see his father in person, since in their dreams Lloyd and MK learned that they feel real to one another. When Tang asked why he didn’t do that before with Lloyd, Garmadon explains that it’s because it would’ve been dangerous. Lloyd had been in a place that where sleeping deeply would’ve been bad, and Lloyd can attest, remembering how his roommates were also sorts of mean when pranking him, that if they caught him asleep and pranked him, it would’ve ended badly.
MK is reluctant to meet with Garmadon in the dream world, and asks to think it over. There’s just a lot to process. Garmadon agrees and tells him that if he so wishes, he can find him later. Just call for him as he’ll be hanging around.
MK has a lot to think over about the situation and talks with his family about it. He always wondered what happened with his father, if his birth family had actually been right in them saying he walked out on MK’s mother because he didn’t want to take responsibility and raise a burden, or if they’d been lying. Apparently lying, but was a banished evil tyrant any better? But Garmadon really did seem genuine in wanting to know him, and had come all the way as a shadow to find Lloyd until he discovered he had another son. And he thanked Pigsy and Tang for taking MK and Lloyd in, instead of getting mad at them for being the boys’ parents. After a lot of debate, MK finally comes to a decision, and agrees to meet Garmadon.
So when the boys go to bed, one excited to see his father and the other all kinds of nervous, they’re met in the dreamworld by a man that while looking eerie and intimidating, has nothing but a parent’s love for their children in his eyes as he looks at his two sons.
Alright, okay. This won’t leave me alone, so I’m gonna make it everyone else’s problem.

Pigsy and Tang don’t trust Garmadon. Pigsy more so than Tang, simply because of the man’s nature as evil meaning that MK and Lloyd would be in danger if someone found out about them, either out of fear what they could do or to use as leverage against Garmadon. Tang however feels that Garmadon could be trusted to at least keep the boys out of harm’s way since while Garmadon is evil, he still has some good in him to care about what happens to his sons. A narcissistic evil tyrant wouldn’t care what happens to their children more than that they’re kept alive enough to be of use, but Garmadon genuinely cares that the boys are healthy, happy, and safe. They do have an understanding with Garmadon thanks to being the boys’ adoptive parents, and the times Garmadon has appeared as a shadow, they’ve been able to tell him stories about the boys, which he delights in but also feels sad about that he’s missed so much already of their lives.
Mei thinks Garmadon is creepy, but kinda cool. She’s a bit freaked out that her friends’ father is a banished evil tyrant, but she also finds that Garmadon actually does make a good parent, trying his best to be there for his sons now when he can. Mei also thinks it’s cool that they’re learning spinjitzu from Garmadon, who’s teaching them in the dreamworld while also giving history lessons, and when the boys are awake, they practice what they’re taught. Mei always felt bad she couldn’t share in her power with MK and Lloyd, but with them learning spinjitzu, it meant that they could all talk about it and share about having cool powers!
Sandy learned about Garmadon thanks to one time visiting the noodle shop and finding Garmadon talking with Pigsy and Tang. It nearly gave Sandy a heart attack to see a giant shadow man talking to his friends, and then learning the situation, but he adjusted. It took some time, but he adjusted to the situation nonetheless. He doesn’t trust Garmadon either, but can see for himself the love Garmadon has for his sons, so agrees with Tang that Garmadon isn’t wholly evil.
Lloyd’s happy to be able to hug his father, as in the dreamworld, when he and MK first learned about their sharing dreams, they learned that they felt real to each other. He’s also excited to learn spinjitzu, as well as learn more about his family. And while shocked that MK is his actual blood brother, Lloyd is also happy to find that out.
MK, while happy in learning Lloyd is his actual blood brother, is also unsure how to think about their father. While Garmadon has genuine interest in getting to know him, MK can’t help but feel conflicted as why did his father have to go for power? Why couldn’t he have settled for family? Why did he leave Lloyd alone? And the story about the Great Devourer, it was the snake’s venom that turned him that way, what about MK and Lloyd? They were born while their father had that in his blood, what if they go down that path too? But a quick heart to heart with Garmadon tells him that the Great Devourer’s venom wouldn’t have affected them, that’s the first thing he checked for himself when he found out his wife had been pregnant with Lloyd. And he left Lloyd alone because he wanted the power to protect his family, albeit not in the best way, Garmadon admitted. Even the best intentions can lead to bad consequences.
But MK will also admit that it’s cool to learn about his family, especially in learning spinjitzu! When he first successfully pulled it off, MK had learned his tornado color had been a soft orange color. (Lloyd’s doesn’t turn green until he gets chosen by the golden weapons as the Green Ninja. His is a silver-ish gray color.)
Because this is an AU, of course there’d be some differences between the canon boys and this universe’s boys. Such as Lloyd not seeking to be evil like his father, though still being a mischievous brat. (His and Mei’s prank war was legendary, and also their last. They’re also not allowed to team up with each other for pranks.) He’s got a loving family AND his father is there with him, even if Lloyd can only hug his dad when dreaming. And MK has skills in hand-to-hand combat thanks to Garmadad’s training, which definitely helps later on. MK also is a bit more mature thanks to his being an older brother, as he wants to set a good example for Lloyd, especially as Lloyd’s manners in the beginning weren’t the best because of Darkley’s teachings. (Though some of it came in handy, such as how to pick locks.)
MK still loves the legend of the Monkey King, but he’s more thoughtful about the legend thanks to knowing his own family history. Lloyd likes the legend, but he’s not as into it as his brother is.
Lloyd still gets his hoodie, but MK had a pendant shaped like a vibrant purple tornado. (I ain’t taking away his canon outfit, it’s too good!)
Garmadon is still trying to find a way out of the underworld to rule Ninjago. He’s still evil for all that he cares about his sons, and in some warped way, he sees his taking over as a means to giving his sons and the family they’ve made over in China another place in the world that they can be safe in. He’s keeping what he’s doing in Ninjago a secret from the others though, since he knows that the others wouldn’t quite agree with what he’s doing.
Garmadon is also keeping Lloyd’s whereabouts and the fact he has another, older son secret from Wu, who hasn’t even realized about Lloyd being gone from Darkley’s as the school wouldn’t tell the do-good uncle. Wu also hasn’t visited since while he wanted to go see Lloyd, he could never bring himself to out of shame of being the one to have cost Lloyd his father as well as because seeing Lloyd brought back bitter memories of both Garmadon and Misako.
In this AU, the LMK timeline is the one that happens first, so I’ll be getting to that next reblog.
Alright, okay. This won’t leave me alone, so I’m gonna make it everyone else’s problem.

Lloyd will sometimes help MK out on noodle deliveries since sometimes MK needs to check the addresses and can’t do that while driving without pulling over which wastes time. Lloyd accompanies MK on one such delivery, only for them both to be confused when it’s a construction site. MK tells Lloyd to stay with the car just in case, since he doesn’t want to put his little brother at risk even when they both know Lloyd can handle himself in a fight - they’re well-trained by their father, after all!
Canon events of how MK finds the staff, but the difference here is when he and Lloyd flee. Because of not being accustomed to using a weapon when using spinjitzu, MK doesn’t use spinjitzu to help get away from PIF and Red Son. And Lloyd can’t either because MK had a tight grip on him as they’re fleeing.
At the noodle shop when Tang points out that the legend is just that, a legend, MK points out that his and Lloyd’s father is a banished evil tyrant that comes to visit time from time as a shadow, that their grandfather is the creator of a continent and four golden weapons, and that both boys can use spinjitzu, a mystical martial arts technique. Tang shuts up pretty quickly at that, though MK still splits a table.
MK doesn’t want Lloyd in danger since Lloyd is just a kid and the journey to Flower Fruit Mountain would be dangerous. So Lloyd is forced to stay behind at Mei’s, since he’s been over there before and the place is pretty fortified. (Mei’s parents had also met Lloyd before and thought he was adorable since he did try to be on his best behavior in front of Mei’s parents but also oddly familiar. Dragons sense dragons, after all, but none of them really know that bit. They learned that MK and Lloyd were brothers but didn’t know about Garmadon, just got told the two had a blood test done when trying to find Lloyd a match for a blood transfusion - which ironically they are a match for - and that MK and Lloyd’s being half-brothers came to light.)
When Lloyd sees the others coming back looking defeated and his brother missing, he is heartbroken and angry, vowing vengeance on the Demon Bull family for killing his brother! When confronting Red Son, Lloyd shouts at him for killing his brother, only for MK to come back, taking out Red Son and canon ending with the DBK fight.
Wukong had actually been keeping an eye on MK because he hung around Megapolis sometimes and grew interested in the brothers since he saw them practicing spinjitzu a couple of times. He knew about their father and while apprehensive since Garmadon IS a bad guy, he also has respect for Garmadon because of the man’s dedication to his kids.
When Garmadon learned what happened, he was rightly furious. How dare his sons be hurt?! How dare the Demon Bull family disrupt their peace and risk their safety?! But Garmadon holds off on threatening them to back off when talking with Wukong, as he wants to know exactly what the Monkey King is thinking in making MK his successor.
That talk goes well enough with Wukong explaining how MK managed to wield his staff, which is not easy by any means, and that MK is worthy. Lloyd also gets permitted to come to training simply because MK asked, since he didn’t want his brother left out especially when they needed all the training they could get. (They’re a packaged deal, after all!)
MK’s powers from being Monkey King’s successor have an impact on what he already had from his heritage, such as the powers causing MK’s spinjitzu tornado color to go from a soft orange to a more golden orange color.
Wukong and Garmadon both help MK learn how to wield the staff while using spinjitzu, though Wukong warms not to use spinjitzu with the staff more than he has to because spinjitzu isn’t really a practiced martial arts technique outside of Ninjago, so it would be better as a trump card against enemies.
Certain things change in certain episodes, with most staying the same except for the addition of Lloyd and the occasional visit from Garmadon. After the events of Duplicatnation, Garmadon, wanting to make MK feel less embarrassed by what happened with his clones, explains his own mishaps with his first set of clones, which reveals to the boys how he can make clones of his shadow self. In Coming Home, MK and Lloyd feel a pull to the Dragon Blade because in this AU it was a sibling to the Dragonbone Blade, the DBB being the FSM’s sword. (The hilt of the Jade Dragon Blade is just a recolored version of the DBB, so yeah. I went there.) In Calabash, MK realizes that it’s all a fake world earlier because he’s more aware to things being off, thanks to his experiences making him more observant. (Trying to keep track of a hyperactive younger sibling that likes to prank and will surprise prank attack you when he’s on a sugar high really does help train the senses.) Just to name a few differences.
Of course there’s filler stuff such as MK and Lloyd training, Lloyd wondering what his future will look like with his brother being Monkey King’s successor, hanging out at the arcade with Mei, noodle delivery runs featuring shenanigans, learning from Garmadon some of Ninjago’s past, and breaking the no Mei and Lloyd team ups rule to have an all-out prank war with Wukong. (Wukong had wanted to see how the brothers were at stealth and surprise attacks and oh boy, did they deliver!)
During the Macaque introduction episode however, is when things really take a turn.
