THANKS FOR TELLING ME YOUR THOUGHTS !!
i don't have many thoughts about the ep but it was. Something. to watch. i sorta knew what was about to happen because i saw you talking about it on the dash but My Fucking God. i don't know whats up with link click and their fifth eps but they sure do like putting all the strong topics into them. i did liked? enjoyed? a lot the realism it was treated with though
also my brain sort of died halfway n i spent a nice hour trying to figure out what was happening with lu guangs ability in this ep
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that theory about one of the siblings taking control of him during that brief time period sounds very interesting?? i wonder if that's what happened or if the bad connection is due to lu guang's current health or a third secret thing
also another thing but i?? really like the way link click distracts you from the culprits. i spent the ending of ep4 n half of ep 5 thinking that the culprit was gonna be the cat ears dude n they also seemed to be playing onto it at first. i don't know. it's cool
wahh thanks for asking about my thoughts in turn newayz !! you're very cool
bro omg youre so right LINK CLICK AND THEIR FIFTH EPISODES. thanks for reminding of THAT one in s1 😭✌️ nah but fr it was A Lot. s1 ep5 was absolutely devastating made me cry like a baby and then we have s2 ep5 which is just. on a whole other level of hard to even watch.
I AGREE WITH THE CONFUSION ABOUT LU GUANGS ABILITY THOUGH. like its sooo... inconsistent. we dont know a lot about it from the get go anyway but i also sometimes wonder abt the logistics of the dives and if lu guang is surprised like cheng xiaoshi by what happens but then in other instances we see him knowing exactly what happens?? idk. suspension of disbelief ig. it is a time travel show after all so theres bound to be some inconsistencies. i try to just enjoy the show and not think too much abt the logistics of lu guangs ability.
also to your last point i knowwwww right?? the first time i saw this man and noticed the beard shadow i immediately thought it was that henchman guy from qian jin, just in the past. and thats also how the siblings have this connection in the present to him now. im still kinda sus abt him though. bet on link click to first make us think hes the bad guy, then the good guy, and then it turns out hes the bad guy again and actually that henchman dude. it is an interesting choice to give him the same beard shadow as him. link click, istg ur making my hairs turn grey.
anyway thank YOU for asking my thoughts on this ep too, i love talking about this show!!! tickles my brain in all the right ways GAHH. im so excited to see whats in store for us next week

Link click: Theory & questions:
*all spoilers for season 1 !*
Just What how why everything? Lol. Every question I can ask will be deliberately left out plot point, meant to be slowly revealed. But let's get on with some anyway.
Most of my theories will be surrounding Lu guang, as he's the one mc shrouded in mystery. And he's totally not my favourite character and absolutely not pretty 😝
1. Lu guang is hiding something, or more like a lot of things. Duh. Everyone knows that.
He radiates this aura as if he's already... Guilty of something? And certainly carrying some burden (the burden of knowledge for sure, But more than that.)
I feel like he's on a mission of some sort. The business they're doing can't simply be for business. It's like.... A training session....? Is Lu guang training Cheng? In Preparation of a bigger, dangerous, life altering mission?
2. Is Lu guang somehow connected to Cheng xiaoshi's parents disappearance, at least knows something about it? I'm theorising this because of the guilt I sense from Lu guang.
What happened to the parents is a big question already, duh, very likely related to the timey whimey stuff (hey I'm still using the term! Hehe it's too perfect)
3. Ahem, what, I mean who is Lu guang anyway? (Or really what) sometimes I feel like he's already time traveling. Him being from the future is a popular theory.
His age is weirdly left unknown, thats also a big point.
He's possessing his younger self??
From Alternate timeline?
Is he actually xiaoshi (and qiao ling's) son from the future?  😂 it's almost scary how it kinda makes sense to me. Maybe xiaoshi died or disappeared or got lost in a dive.
4. Power mechanism. Still don't know how their powers work, since when, rarity of such ability, etc etc.
Lu guang probably can do more than we've seen.
5. What are the odds of 2 people with complimentary powers randomly meeting each other?
From the little we've seen of their backstory, I feel like Lu guang purposefully came to xiaoshi, their meeting wasn't any coincidence. Ties in with the mission theory.
6. Someone on YouTube said that 'maybe our protagonists knew each other beforehand in a different timeline, but something happened that caused only xiaoshi to forget everything. Thus lu guang's reason for being more knowledgeable. - very nice theory! I'd like to extend it, maybe xiaoshi died or disappeared in another timeline, thus Guang feels guilty. Thus his protectiveness and understanding behaviour. Hesitant to approach xiaoshi n start this business but couldn't help it either.
And not just to Xiaoshi, he's also quite protective of Qiao ling. Maybe something happened to her too... (Future son theory intensifies!!!)
7. Lu guang is seen to get tired while using his powers, right? When he's guiding xiaoshi for hours. He often takes naps on the couch at random times and sets up alarm to wake up at right times. Ok, I of all people should consider this a totally normal thing to do, do u need excuse to nap ahem ahem... And especially when you're 'watching a mundane movie through your mind's eye', of course it's tiring. But sadly (and fortunately) not everyone is Opshee, so the way it is shown, this can also mean that using luguangs powers are taxing. Low energy high intelligence.
8. The villain/antagonist, red eyes. Yeeeaah, so who that, what that? Should I even ask such obvious question, that's what season 2 will be about 😆 but I can state my theories beforehand.
That's not just a person, but more like....karma? Time police? A supernatural force that punishes everyone who messes with time? A being without even a solid body.... Woooo that'd be hard to deal with!
- wait, he did say something like being an 'agent' in last episode? Wonky translations, so not sure. But the original title of this show literally translates to 'time agent' apperantly, so......? Actual time police possible??
- or in simpler case, another person with similar powers to our mcs. Who's just a psycho. Wow so simple.
How his or her powers work is another question.
- is that person time traveling? Or just possessing people in present time? It should be time related to make it cooler n match our protagonist's powers, but there were scenes where it can be intercepted as just normal possession ability.
But then he can't be time police type....nah. I'll stick with 1st theory.
9. Obesvation: in episode... 6 maybe, there's a little scene at the police station, one of the serial killer victim's file/page went missing.
That has to mean something later. Maybe.... A police is related?
The assistant police, forgot his name, could he be the main villain? Dun dun duuuun!
10. Lu guang's watch. ...just, something seems to be there about it. It's highlighted more in the chibi shorts. That is related to something of his backstory.
11. Lu guang's platinum blonde hair, actually kinda stands out considering most people has the natural brown/black. Well, I wouldn't even think anything of it cuz, anime world! 😄 Multicolor hair is soooo common to us, especially when Lu guang n Xiaoshi are designed with complimentary black-white aesthetic. It just makes sense. But it kinda caught my attention from their university flashback scene... Lu guang was wearing a hat. It just felt like he was sort of embarrassed about his unnatural hair...?? Then my galaxy brain thought this has something to do with his mysterious background as well. A side effect of time travel? Future theke আসতে গিয়ে? Time travel makes your hair white? Lol
(Eeeeeeverything about Lu guang is sus. What's next opshee? Lu guang's shoes are suspicious too? His white shirt too?)
12. ..... I'll just clearly state my wildest n craziest theory here - Lu guang is Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao ling's son from the future. 😶
I have no reason or proof or argument for this, and I'm embarrassed, but it just keeps making sense somehow?!
( this note has been sitting on my phone for almost a year, but now that we have season 2 airdate, I better post this now, and let's all brainstorm about these!)

19 days fandom, I have a donghua (Chinese animation) recommendation for you! It’s called “Link Click” (Shiguang Daili Ren in Chinese), and it’s about the two in the photo, named Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, who have the strange superpower to enter photos. They use this for “clients” to go back in time and solve mysteries, say things that have been left unsaid, etc. It’s not a BL, but it’s a super suspenseful and amazing show! The art style, animation, and voice acting are all gorgeous, and I could not recommend anything more! It’s only one season right now, but the second one was announced at the end of the finale. If you can, please watch it on Funimation; if not, it’s available on a lot of different websites! Thanks for reading this post, and I hope you try it out!!

"terrifying?" "terrifying."
Tumblr media
wc: 0.8k words letsgo!! || g: fluff, friends to lovers, haha guang's a simp, gn!reader || w: none! || a/n: the whole time i wrote this i had Chevy's I Know a Place playing on loop so give it a listen! :>
Lu Guang takes a moment to pause his reading and revel the feeling of your fingers in his hair. They tug and twirl and braid his white strands, though you're never too rough which he appreciates.
A small laugh escapes your lips when you finish a fifth braid, leaning back on the bean bag you share with him as you observe your work. "What?" Asks Guang, leaning back to look at you. "do I look that ridiculous?"
"Yes, you look that ridiculous."
There's a foreign feeling that you ignite in him that makes him want to purse his lips and run away, yet he also yearns for more of your attention and for your fingers to explore more of his hair and skin and face. He'd always admired how comforting you could be and how you always knew your way with words. You never talk with uncertainty and most definitely don't think with so, too.
Or maybe he found everything you did calming in a reassuring way. There's no denying that swell in his chest he'd used to hate is now something all too familiar whenever he'd spent time with you.
It's until you blow on his face when he realizes he's been watching you. "What style do you want me to do now?" Your voice is quiet when you ask him, and again he's sighing when you untangle the braids in his hair with gentle intent.
"I dunno," Answers Guang in a mumble, resuming to where he carried off in his book. "anything is fine, just don't mess it up too much." And you jest in return, "Hmm? Are you enjoying this, Lu Guang?"
In a quiet panic, he coughs, "This is the most peace I've had recently, especially with Cheng Xiaoshi around." There's a small and stupid thing called pride in his chest when you laugh at what he'd said, and he suddenly wants to shrink and burn with this burning, wild feeling you give him.
Lu Guang doesn't want to think he loves you, but he does. He knows he does. And he thinks he's so sure of his feelings until he's melting when you braid his hair and hum a small tune, chest beating painfully rapid, but it's a good pain.
"So, what book are you reading? Is it any good?"
Guang doesn't know how to answer you because frankly, this book is the last of his concerns right now. He'd been so caught up in you and what you say or what you do with his hair to even try focus reading.
"'A Little History of the World.'" He quotes as he runs a finger down the spine of the book. "It's thrifted, found it a little while ago while I was going through a flea market."
"That's cool," Your tone is laced with interest as you peer over his shoulder to check out said book. "mind if I read it sometime?" And Guang is hit with a brilliant idea:
"I could read it to you, now."
"Sure, I like listening to your voice."
At the time-- that being a split 2 seconds after he'd given the suggestion-- it seemed like a genius idea, but after hearing what you'd said about liking his voice, he doesn't think he could possibly read to you. Not without a bashful smile.
But he reads nonetheless, he recites word after word, becoming seemingly immersed in it after a page of reading about the Greeks and their grand wars with Persians, and Mars being the planet of war and Venus, love. He reads and bounces on his heel and fidgets with the corner of the page as you listen well, mindlessly playing with his hair.
You do wish you had flowers because oh how nice they'd look in his hair. You have the strange idea of making a flower crown in this secluded area of the library you hang out in and give it to Guang, like a crown to throne him with.
You hadn't realized Guang had stopped reading to lean back and look at you again, and when you do you tilt your head and ask him what's wrong.
"I think I'm in love with you."
Truth be told, these were the last words you'd expected Lu Guang say to you, but for some reason you're calmed by the fact that he thinks so. It's quiet, but not a suffocating quiet because you look at him with eyes just as soft.
"Wait, no, scratch that." Your heart drops. "Hm?"
"I am in love with you." Guang says his words with such confidence it gives you shivers, warm shivers that you don't mind because you enjoy it. "You are?"
"I'm in love with you. It's as simple and as terrifying at that."
"Terrifying?"
"Terrifying."
You don't know why, but you smile at his choice of words. "Well, Lu Guang, I think I'm in love with you too. And I'll show you how un-terrifying it is, you'll just have to trust me."
Tumblr media
a/n: hmm i think i want some opinions on this imagine in my ask box, if that's not too much to ask? :< this hasn't been proofread and it's like 4 in the morning so i'll go to sleep and then wake up and then see how it is

Link Click Bilibili Directors Interview - Fan Translation (Part 3)
Original interview
(Notes:
The interview itself is pretty long and split into 3 parts so I'll be posting each part separately
Take all translations with a grain of salt!
Li Dao = Director Li (Li Haoling)
Zhang Dao = Director Zhang (Zhang Yuxia))
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3]
Part 3: "Exclusive Sneak Peak"
Q: The character PVs look like someone is secretly observing the characters, is this guess correct? Who’s perspective are they from?
Zhang Dao: We can't say that yet, we can only say that it's an important character and viewers can look forwards to that.
Q: The lyrics and genre of the OP and ED are both very unique, why did you choose such a genre? How did you think of using finger dance in the OP?
Li Dao: For the OP and ED, we considered it along with the BGM, all of which falls into the pop jazz genre. It's actually this combination of music styles and has this trendy, innovative feel. So of course our OP and ED is also meant to work with that and I wanted the whole product to feel more fashionable overall, especially since I've been considering for a long time to release this product both here and overseas, which we have also managed to successfully do this time. So I wanted to use this style of music that doesn't have a clear national divide, as well as an art style which is also meant to be more fashionable to help the international audience to more readily accept this project. As of now it has been pretty effective, the feedback we've gotten from overseas has been pretty positive. The show itself is actually conveying a lot of Chinese subjects, including spiritually, some of our core beliefs, so I think this is an alternative way of communicating some of these things overseas. As for the finger dance in the OP, I've seen some commentaries online that are pretty impressive, they've definitely gotten some parts right. I myself am really interested in street dance culture, but one thing I think is unique about finger dance is that the shapes formed are generally very regular and geometric, it's very similar to the structure of cameras or picture frames, or especially the viewfinder, since in the very beginning this gesture mimicking a viewfinder (using your fingers) I feel is part of the fundamentals of the finger dance, so combining these two elements I think very suitable. Also, the finger dance right now is a pretty modern, new school kind of street dance style, so I wanted to combine these elements that both have an important meaning and feel very modern and innovative.
Q: Have the two of you learned the finger dance in the OP?
Li Dao: I don't think I'll be able to learn it
Zhang Dao: I don't dare to, I saw it once and knew I couldn't do it, I just gave up immediately
Li Dao: Sometimes it's just like that, you like something a lot but you can't do it yourself so you put it into your donghua
Q: Do the lyrics contain hidden spoilers?
Zhang Dao: erm, are there?
Li Dao: A little, a little bit
Zhang Dao: Right, I can't confirm, have to wait for the main director to speak
Li Dao: I won't consider them spoilers really, but they're still connected to the plot
Q: In the show, Qiao Ling says Lu Guang is younger than Cheng Xiaoshi but his personality is very calm and logical, why is this so?
Li Dao: (long pause) Ah, I have finished my answer
Zhang Dao: I can't answer directly, since it involves spoilers for later content, but I've seen some analysis videos by people focusing on local shows (T/N: his actual phrasing is referring to people who post under the '国创/local production' tag on Bilibili), I think everyone's guesses are pretty interesting.
i Dao: Right, indeed, all the speculations by those people, they've covered all sorts of possibilities.
Q: Why is it set up such that Qiao Ling doesn't know about Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's time travel abilities?
Li Dao: Actually, if you look at their state of being in the show, they haven't been doing this job for a very long time, if you watch patiently you'll notice that they're actually all new to this, including like how Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't even know what would happen when he enters footage captured by a security camera. This way, it actually explains a lot of questions viewers might have at the start, like how Cheng Xiaoshi seems experienced but is still very impulsive or emotional on the job, they actually haven't been working as partners for very long. As for Qiao Ling I think she just has a lot of unconditional trust in these two, and also she's very straightforward and easygoing, she won't care about such small details, so at first she's more like, I'll just hand you the photos, I know you guys have the ability
Zhang dao: the method
Li dao: Right! The method, as for what method, I don’t care, as long as you can get the job done, something like that. And then slowly over time, she starts participating in certain events, since some events were also connected to her, she ends up getting pulled into the whole operation and gets to know more of the details. And also I think Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi didn't tell Qiao Ling about all the details as a way of protecting her, but they ended up not having a say as after she slowly starts taking part in everything, she'll also be dragged into the whole affair.
Q: Lu Guang always insists that the past cannot be changed, while Cheng Xiaoshi who's more personally involved can't maintain that level of calm. Personally, for the two of you, if you had the chance to return to the past, what choices would you make?
Zhang Dao: I think for Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi they each represent, one is calm and logical while one is more emotional, so for completing a mission you need both those aspects, it's just that right now they still haven't fully adapted to working together, so in the future they can learn more from each others strengths through new cases to become a really excellent team. So for me, I would definitely try not to change the past, but like Cheng Xiaoshi I'll try to look out for the client, to see from their perspective why they would have these regrets and to help them complete their request.
Li Dao: I think I've also given a similar answer before, in the part talking about the worldbuilding, to me I think no matter if you chose to change or not change the past, your fate will still be waiting for you, that kind of feeling. Like whatever your cause is, your outcome is already predetermined. So I think it's not really a question, it's more of an answer, like how there's a lot of things in life where it's not like you can just solve questions and have everything turn out the way you planned and get the ending you want, because the ending is already there, you just have to accept it, not try and set up something different for yourself.
Q: Will Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's powers continue to grow? What is the source of their powers? Can you reveal anything about why the third superpowered individual is so obsessed with Cheng Xiaoshi?
Li Dao: For Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang as characters, especially Cheng Xiaoshi, the path for his growth is really clear, including the earthquake story which to him signaled a turning point or a place for him to stop and think about things. And then after that he starts in a new direction, he solves Dou Dou's disappearance case and helps a family reunite, he feels this sense of, when I do some things like there are some things I can't change but there are things that can be changed and things that can be salvaged. So for him, like I said about a sense of justice, he has a really really strong sense of justice so at this point he feels like he's found a new direction. For everyone I think there are these peaks and valleys in terms of growth, at his peak he decides, oh I'm going to catch criminals, including at the end when he caught Liu Min, he has actually reached a new height in terms of the process of his growth, and then we cut off at this point in time to let him have another moment to think. I think life is like that, like after growing until a certain point we will stop to look back, so for Cheng Xiaoshi he's also been developing on this peaks and valleys kind of oscillating trajectory. For superpowered individuals in this world, as we saw in the ending, at first when we designed this world I hoped that these superpowers won't be like those in international works where they're really fantastical, with no upper limit on their power level. I hoped that they would be more hidden unnoticed amongst regular people, like they could be your friend, they could be someone who doesn't realise they have these powers yet, and their powers might also be very incomplete. Like how that antagonist at the end that has his eyes on Cheng Xiaoshi, he has this catchphrase of saying 'I've finally found you, buddy' or 'I've finally found you, my friend', because Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang aren't complete, they aren't perfect, so they became friends and formed this partnership. As for the antagonist, maybe he also needs such a partner and he's chosen Cheng Xiaoshi to be this partner, and he has this, he is very possessive. The type that would go, only I can have you, nobody else can.
Q: Will there be a season 2? When will it be out?
Li Dao: Our current plan is, oh wait, if we say now we'll be setting expectations, that's scary (T/N: the original phrase, 'setting up a flag', is an internet saying that means setting up a goal for yourself that, for public figures, you'll then be held to by fans). We'll still have to discuss this with our producer.
Both: (laughs)
Zhang Dao: Our producer is really stern so we can't make decisions like that on our own
Q: Can you reveal a bit on what the story of season 2 might be about? Or reveal some key information or things to look forwards to? Will there be a face to face confrontation between superpowered individuals in the future?
Li Dao: After reaching the end of season 1, as we all know, the main antagonist behind the scenes has already been revealed, he's also a superpowered individual and for him, I think the most scary thing is that he could be hiding inside anyone around you but you won't know who he is. So I think for season 2 the overall level of suspense, as well as tension will definitely be higher than season 1, as the main plotline will definitely be the battle of strength and wits against this antagonist, with lots of mind games involved. The characters will have to consider how to use their powers to neutralise threats as they go along, how to use their powers of entering photographs and to take guesses at the opponent's powers, what his weaknesses are and how to go about fighting him. Also for season 2, there will definitely also be more focus on characterising this antagonist, so that's also something to look forwards to
Q: Do you two have anything you want to say to our friends on Bilibili?
Li Dao: "Link Click" is actually a pretty special project, so first off it's an original work, since we don't really do many original productions, after "To Be Hero" "Link Click" would be the second purely original long running project. The other special thing about it is that it focuses more on real world events, so for those who are familiar with my own original works, you'll know that I also favour this kind of subject matter, since I feel that there's something very meaningful about making donghua. I think the medium of animation has its uses not just in entertainment, but it can also help young people learn and remember some things while they may still be emotionally and psychologically developing, like when I was very young some of the animated works I've watched have stayed in my memory my entire life and changed some of my actions and the way I see the world. So I think the purpose of animation is also to influence viewers during a very special period in their lives, I think this is the really meaningful thing about animation. Like for the first season of "To Be Hero", there was a viewer in the comment section who said after watching the show that they've been running away from home and staying in an internet café for two or three weeks, but after watching "To Be Hero" they decided to give their parents a call. Reading this comment made me feel like this product is something really meaningful, and so I want to bring this kind of energy, this kind of content with more thought and care behind it, and through a more perfected commercial operating process and packaged in a commercial production, deliver it to more people, or even, if we have the opportunity, to deliver it to viewers overseas.
Zhang Dao: For me, I feel that the world of "Link Click" is a very vibrant world with a lot of possibilities, and I hope everyone will continue looking forwards to "Link Click" Season 2.
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3]
