The atmosphere and vibe of this book was dark, chilling, and eerie, which was something I really loved, especially as it stayed consistent throughout the novel. The cover matched the novel too, just enough creepy to be compelling and gorgeous at the same time. House of Hollow follows the Hollow sisters, Grey, Vivi and Iris, told from Iris’s perspective. It delves into the mystery of the girls themselves, starting with their disappearance when they were young and up to when Grey goes missing again. I adored the mix of fairytales and myth that went into this book, and I loved that both the author and the character of Grey did their research! The writing style was lyrical without being over-the-top, and story within a story was fascinating and I loved how the twisted and spooky tale played its role in the happenings of this family. I was also fascinated by the bond between the three siblings, and how complete they were as characters. The way the sisters were tethered together was described beautifully, and added another layer of depth and emotion to this already evocative narrative.
