thinking I'm gonna make a blog to ramble abt my OCs.... I've got a few in my head that I wanna talk about but I don't want folks following me for that shit only to discover I'm actually a shitposter

A'ight I don't feel like wrestling with text adventures, so I'm taking a break from Zork to work through the Myst series.

Buckwild how good the original looks compared to other experiments of the era. It doesn't remotely pass for photorealism any more, but it's just stylised enough that it doesn't feel uncanny.

It likely helps that the bulk of the environments don't need to accommodate FMV actors, unlike RtZ and Phantasmagoria.

Anywho now that I'm several decades older and am properly journaling the obvious plot drops, I'm realising this game is nowhere near as difficult as I thought it was. Could just be that I've played so many games that copied its homework that I can spot the patterns easier, but hey. I'm enjoyin' myself.

(Whether or not I can make it through Riven and Exile remains to be seen.)
