I’m going to post the rest of this answer under a cut, however. just to be safe.

I ask that you bear with me since this is an extremely difficult subject for me to talk about. I posted a thread about this on my twitter close to a month ago. if you like, you can find that right here. content / trigger warning for mentions of self harm and suicide. please be safe.

for a more tl;dr version, I deleted most of my social media accounts and online works due to a major depressive episode. I did manage to recover my twitter accounts and discord before they were permanently deleted, but everything on my AO3 is, unfortunately, unable to be restored. likewise with my tumblr blogs.

I’ve been gradually remaking many of the accounts I lost, including my blogs here. I do have plans to eventually repost a posse ad esse, however I’m not quite sure when. I’m currently in the process of editing and rewriting a lot of it for numerous reasons:

1) the biggest thing is that it will be separated into much shorter chapters and there will be a total of 43 of them. the 50k word long chapters were… getting to be a bit much, both to write and I’m sure to read haha

2) I wanted to also try to work in some of the story from BL3, albeit with LOTS of changes because I found that many of the writing choices in that game left a lot to be desired for me personally

3) I want to restructure it for clarity. when I first began writing apae, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with it or how it was going to end. since then, I’ve made a broad outline of everything that needs to happen – which, by extension, made a lot of the earlier plot devices irrelevant. ideally, I’d like to fix that as much as I can without taking anything away from the existing narrative.

I do want to stress that I don’t plan on changing the overall point of the story. everything will largely be the same, just with some tweaks that will hopefully make it flow better and have better pacing in general.

as for my other shorter fics that also got deleted, I’m not sure if I’m going to repost them. I will definitely think about it though

I agree with you on the whole trying to write a telltale character thing. Like you could tell that they were making an attempt to stick to his character and I appreciate that. I am looking forward to playing the game. Like what made Atlas as a company move to Promethea of all places for a start???

Yo, happy holidays! I’m your secret santa for this year. You said you wanted everyone doing something Christmas-y, so...

Rick, Space and Fact are hanging around by the tree. Rick was more than happy to help Space climb up to the top so he could be the star. True to Fact’s word, the tree snapped in half. 

Chell and Wheatley are doing their own thing, for the most part. They spent most of the party acting like there was mistletoe constantly hovering above their heads (although there wasn’t a single branch to be seen).

ATLAS and P-body were in charge of decorating. After they finished, they treated themselves to eating everything on the table.

GLaDOS isn’t amused.

Shouldn’t it continue right after the Portal reveal? As much as I love Stan, he’s still in deep trouble with the government and the town’s near-destruction. With a dramatic reveal / serious arc like that I doubt they could return quickly to everyday lives. Also the Shack is falling apart more than ever
