Top Surgery
Considering its Pride month i thought id share my Fundraiser link for Top Surgery. Along with a little info and some other links. I am incapable of working a day to day job due to disability and mental illness, and have no family support, which makes saving any $ very difficult. This is sadly a common story for those in the LGBTQIA+. My heart goes out to anyone in the same situation, it isn't easy. Gender confirming surgery in Australia (pretty sure worldwide?) is not considered "Necessary" and so is incredibly expensive with little to no help, and on top of that has ridiculous hurdles trans folk have to jump through which can cause additional mental strain. My Top Surgery Fund link.
https://www.mycause.com.au/p/245260/top-surgery .............................................................................................................................
Surgery info in Australian. Top Surgery Transmasc With insurance $6,000 – $8,000 out of pocket (with a 12 month waiting period) Cant afford/get insurance, $10,000 – $18,000 Bottom surgery Transmasc – Around $6,900 – $24,000 (depending on type) Transfem - Around $25,600 + None of this pricing includes the hurdles of GP appointments, travel, aftercare, medication, specialist appointments or ongoing hormone therapy, the list goes on. ............................................................................................................................. Places to donate This Pride month.
Black RainbowFutures Fund, Black Rainbow are investing in the futures of the Indigenous LGBTIQ+ community.
BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation wants to improve visibility of the Aboriginal LGBTQ+ community via a network of sharing, support and connection. It supports, encourages and empowers people to take control of their own lives. Consider Searching “gender confirming surgery” or “Top surgery” on a fundraiser website and make a donation to someone who is struggling to save. MyCause(Australian)

Hey guys, I hate to ask for money, but my family really needs it. As you may or may not know, my mum was involved in a car crash on the 20th and the car was written off. We’re having trouble paying the costs, especially hire car cost. any help would be appreciated, even if its on;y a dollar, even if you just share this post, that would be amazing.

Do WHAT on my birthday?!
Public Relations is used by nonprofit organizations to increase donations, volunteers and education on their cause. The use of public relations can also increase engagement through online and in-person events. Engagement, education and feedback are all goals of “PR”. Public Relations has been used in many nonprofit campaigns from drug abuse to mental illness to type-1 diabetes.
An example of a public relations campaign would be the “Pledge Your Birthday” campaign on Facebook and other like social media. This campaign gives users the option to raise money for a number of nonprofits with followers and friends on the social media platform.
Tumblr media
One of the issues with public relations is financial constraint and another is awareness. This campaign is inexpensive for nonprofits to partner with social media platforms and requires little upkeep. Pledging a birthday is also easy to do. Within a week of a birthday an ad to “Pledge Your Birthday” will pop-up on the home-screen of users’ often used social media page; a few clicks of the mouse and users are ready to raise money for a chosen cause. Or users can go to alternate sites like MyCause and post to all their social media.
Tumblr media
Public Relations is a major tool for nonprofit groups and social media campaigns like “Pledge Your Birthday” assist in outreach, awareness and communication with audiences. It gives the chance for social media users to look through an index of nonprofits- raising awareness to different nonprofits. Campaigns like these also raise awareness by sharing this campaign to the active friends of each user. These campaigns are also beneficial to the issue of financial constraint on public relations by giving nonprofits an easier, low maintenance and inexpensive option.

Don't support Lokai, they support A$.
Oh, ugh.
Not at you, anon! Never at you! You’re awesome. Especially awesome for taking the time to let us know that there’s a company that sells things we’d find useful or fidgety that is in fact supporting A$. That’s just my default response to finding out there’s more companies supporting an organisation that hates autistics.
Sadly, yes, it’s true: here’s their mycause page for their fundraising black-white lokai. Buyers get to choose which organisation they support, but A$ is one of the options.
Lokai are fused-bead-style bracelets (and textured water bottles) that retail for $18 USD and up; they also produce a range of coloured/limited edition bracelets for various organisations. They look pretty stimmy; I know I’d be running my fingers over the bumps.
They’re expensive and kind of exclusive, so I don’t imagine they’d cross most stimmers’ radar too often, but here’s the obligatory advisory from our anon. This company hasn’t bothered to research A$ well enough to discover that money raised supports A$, not autistics.
Thank you so much for letting us know, anon!
