Aimlessly wandering the world wide web on a sleepy Sunday evening, the audience may find themselves on a rabbithole of netsites and videoboards. Eventually, they may stumble across a peculiar livestream entitled “Interview With A Void.” Upon clicking the feed, one might think the proposed void is much paler than expected—but the video, nonetheless, presents a strange, uncanny feeling:

The music is distant and unintelligible (out-of-tune and alien, yet promoting a sickly nostalgic deja vu), the audio static-laced (muffled and scratching like an old record, yet shockingly comprehensive), and video streaked with scanlines as if broadcast fully analogue (are those yellow sclera, the ‘void’ has? are those sharp teeth? what kind of room are they in, so endlessly white?).

Beneath the media player lie a collapsible description and an input field for commentary. You:

An eldritch creature that embodies inhuman perfection—perhaps to its detriment, when it longs for a taste of the human will. It may feed in the form of proximity to mortals, adopting a constantly-shifting persona, tailor-made to get close to others or manipulate its situation to the most stimulating outcome. This must be the ‘void.’ An odd gimmick, though if you think of it in terms of the ‘call of the void’—the phenomenon where humans find themselves inexplicably, intrusively drawn to a violent end—you suppose it makes sense. Maybe this is some kind of character roleplay…? An actor…?

Home School is that one rare (master)piece of both directing and writing works. I think I said it once that it is such an ambitious project: presenting the dark and disturbing side of society from the perspective of (emotionally) abandoned children in the setting of a push-and-pull between the meaning of home and school and how, at the end, it was about parents/guardians having their own issues (and very unwilling to resolve those themselves) which results in throwing off their responsibility to supposedly take care (and educate) their children to others, in this case, Home School, which turns out to be a nightmare on its own. I guess there are so many lenses already from where you could choose to view this show, canonically, and they could be all just as valid. At this point, I myself cannot unsee, or specifically, cannot unfeel, a metaphor this show has possibly been trying to portray, as one of the casts once said, more or less, that Home School is a representation of a part of the society. And, well, a representation of a part of the society it is. The sick part of it. My rage towards Master Prasath felt so real it’s rather scary. Anything disturbing in this show felt so intentional. 

Is the show a perfect blend of everything they aim to tell? Two more episodes before I could give my final yes. Or no. We shall see. However, regardless how this one ended, I don’t think I could forget the emotional roller coaster it already gave me for a solid, SOLID, 16 episodes. If it ended well, it would definitely join my top three Thai dramas along with A Tale of Thousand Stars and 55:15 Never Too Late. But again, we shall see first. If not, it would still be a rare thrilling experience to go on my watched list. And obviously, no need to wait until next week for me to say, the acting is top notch!

Personal topics like my own intimate life, my own personal information (IRL name, names of family members, etc)

While I am happy to talk and give advice about LGBTQIA+ issues, I am uncomfortable sharing my opinion on issues that I am still working to learn about, because I don't want to spread false information or be unintentionally hurtful. Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

March Plans and Progress! 🌸

Hello fireflies!! After a few weeks of hiatus, I can officially say I'm properly in the mindset to focus on Mushroom Oasis again! For the sake of brevity, here's a quick rundown of things to come:

Lando tries to be supportive. He really does. One of the many things that first attracted him to you was your intelligence and how passionately you spoke of your growing career. He loved - loves - that you worked so hard, as it made his constant travel less of a strain on your relationship in the early stages.

Now, though...

"You're still at work?" he asks, ignoring Oscar's look. Turning his back to his teammate, he pushes his phone closer to his ear.

"Yeah... I told you this morning I'll probably be working constantly all weekend due to the lawsuit," you say. There's no hint of annoyance or irritation in your voice, but Lando can't help but feel like he's being chastised like a child.

"I know but..." He sighs. "Really wanted you here this weekend."

"It'll probably be a month or more before I can get away - I'll have the chicken burger with sweet potato fries, Stephen." You're talking to one of the assistants. Lando's met him.

Lando can't stand the smarmy bastard.

"A month? Babe..." He sighs, flicking off his cap and rubbing his hand over his hair.

"Lando, it's my job. I'll call you tomorrow."

He opens his mouth to argue, to remind you he always makes time away from his job. He rearranges media obligations, drops everything to reply to a text or answer your call.

But he remembers you haven't been the one calling lately.

"Yeah okay," he mumbles. "Love you."

You don't reply. You're talking to Stephen. Lando stands there, listening to the laughter in your voice, throat closing up when the call abruptly ends.

Tomorrow comes and he impatiently waits for you to call. He checks his phone constantly, worried he's somehow missed it. The phone stays mockingly devoid of notifications from you.

When you finally do call, it's three days later, after the race. He's five drinks in at the club with the guys, and he looks at the phone until the call goes to voicemail then pulls up his messages.

My promised GF Au comic typography rambling 📝✍️

Mabel's Font

Her font is purposely very close to comic sans. The font is also bold with low lettering space to portray her childlike manner of speaking. She's also the main character in my AU so she gets a simple readable style.

Dipper's Font

His is similar to Mabel's by being bold and with less spacing. But with a serif style of font. Not only is it similar to Mabel's but it's very similar to Fiddlefords. This may seem like a more random connection, why not have his mirror Ford’s font. Because Dipper could've ended up like Fiddleford if he did take Ford's apprenticeship and I find that parallel super compelling.

Now I already explained the Dipper connection but the reason I gave him a typewriter style is because Fidds loves computers and tech. His is in contrast to Ford's cursive, Ford being more traditionalist with his journals and handwritten notes. Fidd’s because of his inventions and laptop.

Now Ford's is a mirror to Stan's, a way to connect the two even through their differences. Both are a very handwritten style, Ford's cursive and Stans is normal script. Ford's is directly based on the font in the official journal 3. Plus we all know this dork speaks in cursive!

Stan's Font

Stans is very simple, his obviously mirror Ford's but is also connected to Mabel's. Both have a lighthearted feel and are very easily ready, portraying both are great communicators.

Bill's Font/effect

Bills is round and far more odd in comparison to all the others. He also has a rainbow/glitch effect on his text, it also affects Ford's text when possessed! His font is really just to show how supernatural and inhuman he is and to visualize his voice glitch from the show.

(Also bonus fact only Bill and the Time Tape have any color in the comic, it's to make it visually obvious when magic/science stuff is happening lol)(did I overthink this little comic? haha)
