One day I will get stoned to death for publishing an analysis that says that a particular fucked up and evil character fits the diagnostic criteria AND lived experiences of pwASPD and pwNPD, and when that happens I want you all to remember that I did not write that man and it is not my fault that he's both extremely ASPD-coded (and somewhat NPD-coded) and also evil.
Like man if you don't believe me play the game yourself.
#disclaimer: the authors acknowledges that some of the diagnostic criteria suck ass#disclaimer 2: please man you gotta believe me I didn't decide to just give him those diagnoses for funsies#i legitimately keep redoing the analysis every year or every two years and after about 3 years of that (so when i was like 19)#i went 'huh. that's kinda NPD though innit?' and then i slapped that onto him and the next year#i slapped my past self for that and went 'booo you are an idiot and a fool and you can't just do that. however i do agree that#he's kinda showing like most of the symptoms. and thinks like the pwNPD i know.'#but i peeled that diagnosis off anyway and the next year i went 'hey past mes what were you smoking? like you were not wrong#but if i forget about everything I've ever thought about him; i think he might actually fit ASPD more? but unsure?'#and then i thought about it long and hard for 2 years. and this year i finally learned how to score MMPI-2 so i did what any#normal being would do and filled it out the way he would. obviously there's the problem of me being unable to fill out some of#the questions which did skew the results a little but the MMPI-2 was supposed to serve as something that would either help me confirm#my suspicion or that would tell me that I'm wrong. and hey it did confirm all my suspicions and more. so.#inb4 'oh so you think the evil character you hate has these marginalised personality disor-' NO PLEASE LISTEN TO ME#look at me. hey look at me. listen to what I'm saying. i don't hate him at all he's so fascinating to me he's like a chew toy i will#never let go of until the day i die and even then you'll have to bury me with that chea toy. whenever someone draws him inaccurately#i must exercise mindfulness lest i turn into an enraged chimpanzee or perhaps a wild hog yearning for blood#everyone keeps ironing him. yassifying him. like no!! you will look at my man as he is and you will like it#anyway my point is that if anything the fact that he fits those pds fleshes him out. like. seriously. if you lean into them you can#write him with way more depth and humanity. so.

In high school love is always in the air, which is something Saiki considers entirely pointless. You knew this, hence was one of the reasons why you had no intention of confessing your feelings to him.
You knew he wasn't into romance at all, so why bother him and cross his boundaries? It just wasn't worth risking your friendship over. Though there was a huge part of you that was shoved deep into your head.
That part was you that just wanted to tell him already, a part that had been bottled up for 5 years already.
You sighed heavily as you entered the classroom with a box of juice in your hand. You took a deep breath, in and out, clearing your head of any thoughts of Saiki, in case he would hear.
As you walked towards your desk, you saw one of your classmates, staring intently at Saiki. Chio Yumehara. She was blushing and had a lovesick smile on her face.
You have got to be kidding me...
Your jaw dropped slightly and your hand bawled up into a fist, breaking the box of juice you had, and making it spill everywhere.
"Crap..!" You whispered to yourself, luckily no one noticed, well except Saiki and Kaidou. "Hey, Y/n, what's wrong? You seem upset." You saw Kaidou offer his handkerchief to you and you smiled, taking it.
"Hey...I'm fine don't worry! I'm just a little tired.." You muttered as you began to clean up the mess on the floor. "I see, fighting all night were you?" You chuckled and nodded. "That's right, thanks for the handkerchief again! I'll make sure to wash it and bring it back tomorrow."
"Well if you ever need to talk, I'm here. Okay?" Your eyes widened slightly, it was rare to hear Kaidou speak without any chunibuyo. But it was always nice.
He walked off while waving goodbye and you headed to your desk, which was right behind Saiki's. You saw him thinking hard about something, and so was Yumehara.
You figured she was trying to probably get closer to Saiki, seeing as you took a peek at her notebook, which had a picture drawn of Saiki. That confirmed your suspicions, she did in fact, like Saiki.
You looked down at your desk before plopping your head down onto it and closing your eyes. You really didn't have enough energy to deal with this.
"Hey wake up. I need your help." You looked up to see Saiki, who was towering over you. "What..?" You asked with a groggy voice. Saiki rarely asked for help, ever. But you figured it was probably something important.
"What do I do again?" You asked Saiki. He had led you to a random hallway, without giving you any information. "Just walk over there and turn the corner."
You sighed and started to walk, Why does he even want me to do this? What's happening..? As you reached the corner you bumped into something or someone. "Ow..!" You fell to the ground and saw papers flying everywhere.
"Oof..!" You heard someone say, looked up only to see Yumehara, who was rubbing her head in pain. "Oh my gosh! Yumehara! Are you okay? I'm so sorry!" Yumehara gazed up at you and her face fell in disbelief.
Why does she look like she's disappointed...? You thought before handing her all the papers you had picked up. "Thank you..and don't worry about it, that was my fault.." She muttered before getting up and walking away.
Saiki suddenly appeared from nowhere, "Saiki..what the hell was that about?" You glared up at him, getting up and crossing your arms.
"You know already, don't you?" You scrunched up your face in confusion. "What do you mean?" But then it hit you and you could feel your face heat up. The moment in the classroom when you were jealous of someone else having a crush on Saiki.
"Pfft...that..I dunno what..I was just..-"
"C'mon, we don't have much time.." He took your arm and dragged you back into the classroom, leaving you completely dazed and still a red mess.
"Oh God..she's gonna hate me for this..! You owe me big time!" You huffed out to Saiki, "I'll get you whatever you want, alright? I'm sure she'll find someone else to like soon enough."
You groaned before you saw Yumehara enter the classroom. You quickly ran away from Saiki as she walked in front of him, dropping her handkerchief in the process.
"Oh my goodness, that's really bizarre-" Before she could finish you interrupted her. "Oh Yumehara! You dropped this, here you go!" You picked the pink handkerchief off the ground and handed it to her with a smile.
You saw her glare slightly but she was also trying to keep a smile, "T-T-Thanks..." She grumbled before taking it from your hands and walking off in a pout.
Then, it was your turn to glare, but at Saiki, who looked away. Leaving you muttering angrily to yourself.
I mean I can't lie..even if I'm kinda mad at him at least doing this will probably have her not like him anymore..which is..good.. I guess.
You thought before sitting down at your seat, though it seems you forgot yet again that a certain psychic was just a couple of feet in front of you...
Undeterred, Chio continued on her mission to engage Saiki, however, every one of her plans failed thanks to you, without anyone telling you to do so. Since Saiki only asked you one more time to fail her plans and the rest you accidentally did on your own.
It's raining hard.. good thing I brought my umbrella, or else I'd be soaked. You chuckled to yourself as you put your school shoes away back into your locker and grabbed your umbrella.
You walked out the front doors of the school, only to see Yumehara, standing there on her own. You didn't think twice before going up to her.
"Yumehara! What's wrong? Are you waiting for someone?" You asked, she turned around with a small, "Huh?" Before replying properly.
"O-Oh! N-No..I forgot my umbrella and I think I'm just going to wait for the rain to die down a bit before running to my house quickly.." She smiled sheepishly at you before frowning.
"Here." You handed her your umbrella and her eyes went wide for a second, but then turned into a mess. "W-What! No way! I could never do that to you! I'll be fine I sw-" You interrupted her by taking her hand and placing the umbrella in it.
You put your school bag over your head and ran into the rain before looking back and smiling at her. "Don't worry about it! A pretty girl like you shouldn't be running home in the rain!"
She saw you run off before she held her chest, her face was pink and she had a shocked look on her face.
No one has ever done this for me before...let alone someone as nice as her..and I've never felt like his before! Especially not towards any boys! Heck, even girls......I think I just found my soulmate!!!
Saiki's face dropped, in pure shock as he stood on top of the school. He was going to use his powers to make the rain stop, so Yumehara wouldn't try to share his umbrella with her. But you came along and made her fall in love with you instead.
He was not expecting that...
The rain stopped as you were running and you came to a halt, catching your breath as you did. "Dammit..I'm definitely going to get a cold tomorrow...!"
You then felt a warm hand on your shoulder and you were suddenly in your room. "W-What the..?!"
"Calm down, it's just me." A familiar voice said behind you. Stepping back, you looked to see the pink-haired boy himself. "First off, why were you following me, second of all, why did you telepor-" You interrupted yourself by sneezing loudly and sniffling, wiping boogers off your nose with your sleeve.
"That's why, you're going to get sick if you don't shower right now."
"Oh, who made you the boss of me, huh? I can shower when I wa-" Again you were interrupted but this time by Saiki teleporting you to your bathroom. "Good grief..stop your whining and just shower."
He closed the door behind him, leaving you in your bathroom. You groaned but listened anyway and started undressing.
Meanwhile, Saiki was in your living room, debating on telling you about Yumehara's feelings towards you. He feels it's important to tell you but then again, this was something Yumehara probably didn't want you to know.
In the end, he sighed and decided it was best if you didn't know, or to let Yumehara tell you herself...
Tumblr media
You were in your room, petting your cat and scrolling mindlessly on your phone when it started to buzz. You saw Saiki calling you, it was a very rare occurrence when he did because you actually got to hear his voice and he couldn't read your thoughts most times.
You'd be lying if you said you didn't sit up immediately and start to fumble with your phone as if you were playing hot potato. Your heart was starting to beat faster and your hands were starting to sweat too.
But, a deep breath in and a deep breath out helped a little before you answered the phone, "H-Hey Saiki..whatcha need..?" You answered timidly.
"I know I've been asking you for a lot of favors but this will be the last one in a while.."
For a while you didn't respond, shocked to hear how much Saiki's voice changed over the years. The last time you heard him actually talk was in middle school. And then he decided it was best to just not talk with his voice at all, using telepathy to talk to everyone now.
You slipped out of your trance after your cat meowed to you, calling your attention back. "H-Huh? O-Oh um sure whatever you need I don't mind doing favors for you y'know? It doesn't bother me-"
"Well it bothers me, anyway look, Nendou asked me, well no, my mom forced me to go to the beach with him, and I don't want to stay with just him and Kaidou."
"Right, and you want me to come along with you? Sure, I don't have anything planned. But I'm kind of surprised, aren't I just another nuisance, as you'd put it?" There was teasing behind your tone, and you chuckled slightly.
But despite your laughing, you couldn't stop thinking about his damn voice. How deep it has gotten, it was so much different from what you usually hear.
Your mind was wandering off into more about his voice..the things he could get you to do with just a couple of little words out of his mouth. God..what would he sound like during s-
"You definitely are one but it'll be less annoying with you there to get me away from all the other nuisances."
"Fine, I'll go. It's not like it won't be fun. Let me just get ready and I'll meet you guys there, okay?"
"All right, also, stop thinking lewd things about my voice. Or else I'm never using it again."
With that, he hung up, and you were left dumbfounded. You thought he couldn't read your thoughts right now, but then again your houses weren't that far away from each other.
It was honestly more embarrassing that he caught you thinking things like that...You were too distracted in the conversation to stop yourself from thinking whatever you wanted.
You hid your face your hands in embarrassment, and wanted to just disappear. But the beach awaited you.
"Hey Saiki.." You muttered as you came up behind him. The look on your face said you didn't want to be here right now. And honestly so did your thoughts.
I can't even look at him.. I mean he probably doesn't care but I overstepped! He doesn't like nor care for any sort of love. Stupid thoughts! Ruining everything..I should've just faked sick..it would've been believable too since I ran in the rain yesterday..now I gotta deal with the embarrassment of th-
"Hey, L/n! Check out Kaidou, he can't swim! Can you believe it? C'mon tell L/n how afraid you are of the water!" Nendou said, laughing and teasing Kaidou.
You groaned slightly and sighed. You were still in your regular outfit, your swimsuit under. You were honestly a bit insecure about being so naked. It wasn't like your swimsuit showed much skin but the last time you went to the beach was when you were around 12.
"N-No..! That's not true! I know how to swim you jerk..! I-Im not afraid of the water..!!!" Kaidou walked up to the ocean and stepped slightly into the water, before you were suddenly behind him and pushed him in.
To your surprise, he was..kind of drowning? Not really, he sure did act like he was though. He was barely an inch into the water. But flailing his arms and legs around, screaming and yelling in a high-pitched voice.
"Drowning in inch-deep water isn't easy..." Saiki said to you, you turned to him before walking off. "I'm going to change, be right back.."
Saiki looked at your leave, and to be honest, he felt kind of bad, for invading your privacy during the phone call.
It's not like it bothered him you thought things like that, he knew you liked him and you guys were both in high school, hormones everywhere, so, he didn't care. Sure it was surprising when he heard you think things like that about him here and there, but as said before, it doesn't bother him. Mostly because you try to not think of those things about him, you feel extremely guilty about it and he knows that.
You looked at yourself in the mirror and felt like throwing up, but you decided to suck it up and go out anyway. What else were you going to do? Not go out?
You sighed heavily and walked out, wearing your bathing suit, making your way to where everyone else was, and it looked like Hairo had joined all of you.
Looking around you saw Nendou trying to talk to some girls, Kaidou was surrounded by girls, who were saying how cute he was and touching his spikey hair, and Hairo saved Kaidou after Nendou buried him in the sand.
As for Saiki, he was nowhere to be found. "Hey guys, where's Saiki?" You asked all three of them. "Dunno, I think he went to the bathroom or something," Nendou replied.
You nodded and sat on the towel he was on before. Everything was peaceful for a moment before you heard screaming from a girl, you looked over to see her drowning..?!
"Hey hold on a sec! That girl's drowning!" You yelled out and ran off to go save her. Nendou was already on his way, but you decided to go anyway, just in case.
"Kaidou, I'll go rescue her and you go get Hairo!" He yelled out, but Kaidou was next to him, swimming just fine. "oh so you can swim..!" He added but Kaidou didn't realize he was swimming until Nendou pointed it out, leaving him to stop and start to sink into the water.
Now Nendou was carrying Kaidou, while also swimming towards the girl. "Nendou! Don't worry about her I got it! Just take care of Shun..!" He nodded before you got to the girl, who was rapidly sinking. You grabbed her arm and put her on your back.
She was a lot lighter than you expected and as you quickly swam to shore you realized why. Kusuo! Of course..! I have to thank him for this later...
The sun set quickly and the girl was now well and alive, "Thank you for saving my life. I appreciate it, and hey, thank you too for trying, sorry I joked about how ugly your face is..." You smiled and Nendou nodded.
You smiled as you walked next to Saiki, along with Kaidou and Nendou. "I'm glad you didn't ask for her number in return for trying to save her life," Kaidou said to Nendou, you nodded in agreement.
"Hm, I try to be a gentleman, but if that hottie fell in love with me I'm not gonna try and turn her down" He smirked, you heard Kaidou whisper something and Nendou got all mad.
But you weren't really paying attention, your attention was more focused on the beautiful sunset that was in front of you.
"You aren't mad?" Saiki asked you, which caused your mind to lose its train of thought. Huh? What are you talking about?
"Nendou basically got all the credit for just trying to save her, but you actually did save her."
Oh, that. No, it doesn't bother me at all, she's safe and that's what matters, and thank you for helping too, without you, she would've died.
He nodded in return, "Oh right...by the way, I'm sorry for invading your space earlier, I can't help what I hear but I shouldn't have brought it up. I just want you to know, it doesn't bother me..so don't feel like you need to shove your thoughts deep into yourself..."
You stopped and he saw your eyes go wide and your face went red, you were muttering out nonsense that he couldn't understand.
Good grief..I should've just kept that to myself...
Tumblr media
It was very rare for you not to walk with Saiki to school, but you had woken up way too late and by the time you did, you figured Saiki was already at school.
But as you ran past Saiki's house, you caught a glimpse of pink through the corner of your eye and immediately stopped.
"...Saiki..? Why are you-"
"Hurry up, we're already late enough." You blinked in surprise for a moment before nodding and walking along with him.
Luckily his house and the school were only about a 5-minute walking distance so it wouldn't take you guys long to get there.
As you walked quickly next to each other, you couldn't help but think why he would wait.. you've never woken up late for school, so you had never been in this situation before.
Never in a million years would you think that Saiki would wait to walk with you, even if you two were very close.
"I waited for you because my mom would be a pain if I didn't. Can you think a little quieter now?"
You jolted up a bit in surprise but sighed, "What's got your panties in a bunch?" Yes, Kusuo always did seem angry or annoyed but usually, he wasn't. Today it was different though, it looked like he was genuinely mad.
He didn't respond though and just continued to glare, not even sparing you a glance. "Fine, don't tell me. Just don't be rude to anyone else who cares about you."
He finally looked at you, with a bit of a shocked look. But you were already walking ahead, leaving him.
You walked into the classroom alone, as Saiki trailed behind. You sat down at your seat with a sigh, hoping to relax at least a little bit before class began.
But of course, that wasn't the case. You heard loud yelling coming from across the classroom, looking up, you saw it was a bunch of boys panicking while surrounding Teruhashi.
"You've got a crush on someone?!"
"Teruhashi is this a joke?"
"Is it one of us?"
Teruhashi looked extremely nervous, trying to calm all the boys down, (although she was failing miserably). "It's someone I ran into over vacation..."
You felt yourself tense up at that, now it was your turn to be annoyed. Every single time Teruhashi even mentioned liking Saiki you felt all your thoughts turn into jealousy.
You tried not to be because honestly, you were never really a jealous person. You felt there was no reason to be, it only caused problems after all.
But it was so hard trying not to be mad when goddam Teruhashi liked Saiki, the most perfect, pretty, loved, girl there was in the whole universe.
With Yumehara liking Saiki you were jealous, sure. But you didn't hate her, unlike the girl who was right across from you.
You saw her staring at Saiki and you stood up, about to leave to compose yourself, before Teruhashi started up again
"It was the sixth of August when I first fell in love with him.." She closed her eyes and smiled as she spoke, raising a finger.
Yeah, and I've been in love with him for years, try it and come tell me it's all rainbows and sunshine, Teruhashi.
"I remember seeing you that day too, and the guy you were talking with..was Nendou!!" Someone chimed in, you were confused for a second before realizing she probably spoke to him after you had left her.
"YOU ARE WAY OFF IDIOT!" She yelled out, causing the group of guys to jump in fear. It was a surprise to everyone, even to you.
But Saiki had told you what Teruhashi is really like, hence the reason he doesn't like her. So was it really a surprise she burst out like that?
She quickly got back to her persona and started acting all sweet again, lying and telling the guys it was some Russian exchange student.
You groaned slightly in frustration before walking out of the classroom. It was best for yourself if you got out of that room.
"Hey, Y/n!" You heard someone call out to you, you were standing in front of a vending machine that was located near your classroom, this is where you usually went when you needed a drink to calm you down.
"Oh Shun, what's up?" You smiled softly as he ran up to you. "Look, I know this is out of the blue, but will you come with us to spy on Nendou?"
"Huh? Spy on Nendou? Also, what do you mean by 'us'?" He pointed behind him and that's when you saw Saiki.
Your face fell in slight annoyance but you decided to keep talking to them instead of making up some lame excuse.
"Nendou's been acting weird today, don't you think? He'd usually be asking us to go eat ramen with him or do something after school. But he's been real quiet."
You thought for a moment before nodding in agreement, "Now that you mention it, yeah he has been acting strange..alright I'll go with you guys."
Kaidou smirked, before walking away. "Right after school you two! Don't forget!" You smiled before turning back to Saiki. Truth be told, you were trying to figure out if he was still mad. All of a sudden, you remembered something.
You took one of his hands, it startled him slightly but he didn't pull away. You revealed your other hand, which was behind your back, bawled into a fist, and handed him a handful of something.
You took your hands away from his and he stared down at what you gave him, a small bundle of mini coffee jellies, there were about 4 of them.
"Here, take these and stop pouting. If you ever want to talk, I'm here." You mumbled out, he could see the faint blush on your cheeks and he could definitely hear your loud thoughts.
Which consisted of rambling and screaming, he wished he could turn off his telepathy at that moment. But then again, when doesn't he want that?
"Thanks..I really do owe you." Saiki still had to repay the favor you did for ruining Yumehara's plans, going with him to the beach, and now this.
He absolutely hated being in debt to someone, it didn't matter who, he hated it. And you knew this, so you always tried to reassure him. "Don't worry about it, it's no big deal to me. And if you really want to repay me that badly, I'll come up with something. But only if you really want me to."
"Yeah, please do. It's going to bother me, even more than Nendou does. Speaking of, we should probably head back to class."
You nodded in agreement before slightly smirking at him."What now?"
"Nothing. Just thinking about how much of a softie you are."
"His house isn't this way....he's got something going on.." Kaidou whispered to you and Saiki, as you all hid behind a wall.
As planned earlier, you were all trailing Nendou. Kaidou was in some weird disguise, on the other hand, you were in your regular school uniform, and so was Saiki.
"Why are you so excited by this?" Saiki asked him, but instead of responding he struck a weird pose.
"And what's with the outfit? It serves no purpose other than sticking out." You added, though usually you weren't one to judge Kaidou's actions, the disguise seemed a bit much.
"Shut up you two! Hey wait...what's he looking at?" You looked to see him smiling at a little girl with her dad. His smile was awful, scary in fact. He looked like a weirdo.
"Creepy!"
You all said. "I don't think that thinking the same thing is good.." You mumbled, Saiki nodded.
"Nendou has a thing for little girls?!" Kaidou asked you both, his face looked creeped out and worried. "Doesn't look good...we should probably call the police.."
"Hey, check it out, he's going into a store." You pointed at him, it was strange so it interested all of you.
Nendou went in and very quickly came back with a bouquet of sunflowers.
"Looks like a flower boutique, don't tell me he's got a girl-" Kaidou was interrupted by you and Saiki.
"No not Nendou.."
"Definitely not..."
Nendou started to walk off, all of you following him as he did. He stopped and smiled at another little girl, who was smiling with her father.
"Another one?!"
"That's just gross.." Kaidou muttered under his breath, honestly you didn't want to believe this situation. It's just not like Nendou.
"We'll confirm it after we call the police."
"Hey hold on, I feel like we need more proof, I mean c'mon, lots of people like sunflowers, and it's natural to smile when you see a cute little kid right?" You argued, it really didn't seem like Nendou to be a creep.
Kaidou thought for a moment before agreeing, "Y/n's right, all that is perfectly normal, we can't just stop there without any more evidence!"
"Good point, let's not be rash.."
After following him for a little while longer he went into another shop, "Where's he headed no-"
Kaidou suddenly interrupted you as he looked up at the sign of the store, a cake shop.
"CAKES..?! WOMEN AND CHILDREN CAN'T RESIST SWEET TREATS! SO WHEN YOU COMBINE A WOMAN AND A CHILD YOU GET A LITTLE GIRL!!" He yelled out, pointing to the store and looking back at both you and Saiki.
"Now you're jumping to conclusions.." Saiki said trying to stop Kaidou. But it didn't work, he kept going on and on.
"Kaidou-"
"HAVE YOU EVER SEEN NENDOU EAT THAT? OR LIKE FLOWERS! IT WAS ALL MEANT TO BE GIVEN TO SOMEONE BUT HE HAS NO GIRLFRIEND TO GIVE THEM TO!!!"
Jesus, make him stop Saiki..
"If I could, I would've already. Trust me"
You sighed in frustration, all this kind of seemed pointless now that you were actually thinking about it. Sure, it was a little creepy, but you were sure there was a reasonable explanation.
Kaidou went on about how Nendou was using the cake and flowers as bait to try and get little girls, but the more he talked the more it sounded like an unreasonable theory.
Nendou came out of the cake shop, holding a small pink box.
"Bummer..they were all out of shortcake..oh well. It's not like anyone will ever eat this.." You all heard him say, he smirked and chuckled as if he was some cartoon villain. It creeped all of you out and made Kaidou freak out even more.
"If it's not for eating it must be bait!" He yelled out and ran off to Nendou. "NENDOU!!!" Nendou turned around in confusion, all he saw was Kaidou running to him at full speed. Everyone was staring.
"YOU'RE SECRETS OUT!! HOW DARE YOU HURT LITTLE KIDS??!!! YOU MONSTER!!" He started punching him, but it sounded like little squeaky balls were hitting Nendou instead. It was no secret that Kaidou wasn't strong but this was surprising to you and Saiki.
"Is that what his punches sound like?"
"Wait..what secret? Do you mean my dad?" Kaidou stopped and you facepalmed. It went quiet for a while, all of you in a bit of shock, Saiki and you weren't as shocked as Kaidou though.
"He's dead?" Kaidou asked as all of you stood in front of Nendou's dad's grave. By now the sun had set and there was no one around.
"I visit him on the anniversary of his bus accident," Nendou explained, you looked down at the grave again, and then back at everyone else.
I knew it wasn't something bad. Nendou is genuinely a nice guy, he wouldn't do anything creepy. He definitely needs to work on his smile though...
"But the flowers and the cake?" Kaidou mumbled out, it was clear he was kind of sad that all his sneaking around was really for nothing.
"Respectful offerings to the dead! It's normal to bring cakes and flowers to a family grave!" Nendou held up the box of cake and smiled.
"To think Nendou's lecturing us on normal.." You heard Saiki's voice but he quickly turned it off once he realized he was still talking to you telepathically.
What's the harm in showing what you're thinking? That's not fair y'know?. You know every little thing I think but when it comes to your thoughts I can't know even a little.
"Yes because they're my thoughts, also how many times do I have to tell you I can't turn off these powers.."
You pouted slightly but sighed and let it go. He was right after all. Like always.
"When did your dad die, Nendou?" Kaidou asked, snapping you out of your thoughts.
"Well, it was before I was born. He died trying to save a little girl who'd run in front of a bus..huh maybe that means he was into little girls.." You cringed at the last part, and so did everyone else.
"Uh..hope not.." Kaidou said, chuckling awkwardly. "That's a dark joke.."
"So if he died before you were born, he must've been pretty young.."
"He was only 18 or 19 years old, here look! I got his picture!"
"Hey, this is just a picture of you!"
"Nah it's him! My mom says I look more like him each year! Weird..!"
"You don't look like him you're, the same!"
Kaidou and Nendou talked and argued a little back and forth. Saiki stayed quiet but you chuckled a little as you heard their bickering.
They really do look alike, it's kinda scary that they look almost like twins. But Nendou has a scar over his left eye, and his dad has over his right. That's a scary thought on its own since they can only be told apart because of one thing. Right, Saiki?
You looked over and saw him up at Nendou's dad's grave, he looked mortified, extremely mortified for that matter. "Hey guys, wanna go get some ramen!?" Nendou called out to you two as he and Kaidou were already walking off.
"Saiki..? What are you looking at?" You asked in a bit of a shaky voice, you weren't scared, you were worried. Seeing Saiki shocked or scared was something you never saw. Ever.
Walking with Saiki alone almost always consisted of awkward silence. But it was different today, Saiki was thinking, and hard. It was obvious, he had his hand on his chin and everything. You'd laugh if you weren't so spooked.
"So are you gonna tell me what you saw..?" As he was about to answer, you reached his house and he saw a piece of mail sticking out.
"Mail?" He took the envelope and it was addressed to him. "What is it?" You peeked over his shoulder and your eyes widened as you read the letter.
"To Mr. Kusuo Saiki, I am someone who knows you're a psychic."
"......."
"What...."
Tumblr media
Next part -> Romance can also be disastrous - Chapter 3 •Coming soon..•

Pinky Promise
~ This definitely ended up longer than I meant it to be but no regrets, Matt is so adorable in this.

~ Matt tells you he's Daredevil
You have been filled with anxiety all day after a text from Matt. This morning he asked you to come to his apartment as soon as you could after work. He wouldn't say anything else about it, just that it was very important.
Matt has a habit of not believing he deserves good things. Throughout your relationship, you have done everything in your power to prove him wrong. But still, when he says he needs to talk to you, about something really important, your mind falls to the worst-case scenario.
“Matty, I'm here.” You announce as you walk into your boyfriend's apartment.
“Oh hey, sweetheart.” He greets you at the door, as he always does. He is the perfect gentleman.
“Hi.” You let out, trying not to let your anxiety be too obvious. “What did you want to talk about?”
He opens his mouth to say something before immediately shutting it again. “I ordered some food. It should be here anytime.”
“Is there a reason you're trying to change the subject?” He grabs your hands and leads you over to the couch. Sitting down, he pulls you down onto his lap.
“No, I'm just letting you know. I know how you get about your food.”
“Mhm. And is that the only reason?”
“I have to tell you something.” Oh no. You know what this is about. This day had to come eventually.
“Okay, what is it?” You let out a soft sigh. It wasn't hard to figure out once you got together.
“I don't want you to be mad at me.”
  “Matt I won't get mad, I promise.”
“How do you know?” His eyes show you how worried he is.
“Because I love you.” You grab his hand and lean into him more. “And unless you're about to tell me that you cheated, I won't be mad.”
  “What! I would never!”
“I know, baby. It was just an example.” You almost laugh at the surprised expression that covers his face.
“Well, you know how I became blind.” He begins.
You were right, he's about to tell you he's Daredevil. Yes, you already know. For two reasons. One, a blind man can't do everything he does, the way he caught you when you fell on one of your dates, or the way he knows where things are without being told. Two, Foggy. He didn't mean to tell you but you had your suspicions and you may have tricked Foggy into secretly confirming for you.
Foggy has no idea what he said allowed you to know the truth and you never told him so he wouldn't feel bad about accidentally exposing his best friend's secret. You're not proud of it but your curiosity got the best of you.
  “Yeah, I do.”
“Uhh, it did more than make me lose my sight.” You weren't able to confirm anything about the accident but if Matt is Daredevil then something had to have happened for it to be possible.
  “What else did it do?”
“It heightened all of my other senses.” You squeeze his hand to encourage him to continue. “I can hear things from very far away and smell things better than normal.” No shit.
“How much better?” As much as you already know, there are a lot of specifics you still don't understand.
“I can smell what you have eaten all day, I can hear your heart beating and I can tell when you're making a face.” That's a lot more than you thought. “I can hear everyone in this building and mostly tell what they're doing.”
You immediately scramble off his lap.
“Did I weird you out?” The lace of sadness in his voice breaks your heart.
“No it's not you, I'm just weirdly aware of myself now.” You assure him. You don't know how to describe it like you're going over everything you did in the day to try and figure out what Matt can tell.
“You don't have to be, sweetheart. You're not the weird one here.”
“Matt, you're not weird. You're perfect. You can't control what happened to you or what it caused these senses. I don't know. You can smell me and hear me? It's just a lot.”
“That's not even the part I'm trying to tell you.”
“Matt, I have to be honest with you. I know.” You whisper.
“You know?” He asks in shock. “Know what?”
“That you're Daredevil.” Your voice grows even quieter.
“What? How?” He exclaims, standing up to meet you.
“I don't know. One day I was just thinking and kinda put it together!”
“When?” His voice booms around the small apartment.
“A few months ago. There was this clip of Daredevil on the news and he looked so familiar so I started thinking about the injuries you get, how you disappear at night, how you can catch me when I fall. It became really obvious and then..” You stop your rant, not wanting to expose Foggy. Even though he had no idea what the conversation was about, you still feel terrible.
  “And then?”
“I may have tricked Foggy into confirming it for me.” Matt’s face quickly shows anger and disbelief. “I swear he has no idea I know anything, he didn't mean to confirm anything.”
“Why didn't you just ask me?” Is he serious right now?
“Because you never would've told me! We've been together for almost a year now and you're just now trusting me with this! I'm the one that gets to be pissed right now, not you!”
“Okay you're right I should have told you but I was just scared that..”
“No.” You hold your hand out and interrupt him. “I swear Matt, if the next thing you say is that you were protecting me, I will beat your ass.”
“That was one of the reasons, yes.” You step forward, fully intent on keeping your word. “Let me explain.” He smiles and pushes you away.
“Fine but it better be good.” You cross your arms and raise your eyebrows to show how serious you are.
“I wasn't just worried about your safety, I was worried that you would feel different about me. Maybe even leave me.”
“Matt, I love you. And I know you doubt yourself but I would never leave you for that. You could kill a million people and I wouldn't leave you.”
He gives you a very concerned look. “That's not good, we need to talk about that.”
“Eh.” You wave him off. “We need to talk about all this shit,” You move your hands over his body. “All this self-deprecating shit you do.”
“Oh well, I'm so sorry for believing you deserve the world.” He says as sarcastically as possible.
“Exactly. Think more like that.” You nod.
  “I'm not gonna do that.”
  “We are getting off topic.”
“Is there more to talk about?” You can tell he's worried about you knowing the details.
“We are one month away from our first anniversary and you're just telling me this now, that's not okay Matthew!”
“I know! I didn't want to wait this long but the more I thought about telling you the more I thought about losing you and I can't handle that.”
“Wait so why did you want to tell me today? Are you okay with losing me today?” You half-joke.
“No, because Karen told me if I didn't she would, and I know you should hear this from me.”
“Yeah you're right but this needed to happen forever ago!”
“I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, sweetheart, I know I should've. But out of curiosity, when would've been the best time to tell you?” He asks sincerely, sitting back on the couch.
“Why? Want advice for your next girlfriend?” You can't help but tease. Sitting back down on his lap.
“I'm never gonna have another girlfriend.”
“Oh yeah? And you're sure about that?”
“What does that mean?” He asks in fake concern, used to your teasing antics.
“I don't know. What do you think it means?”
“This isn't funny.” He says while he laughs. “I can't tell if you're mad at me or me.”
  “Oh, I'm very mad.”
  “About me being Daredevil?”
“No, Matty about you keeping it from me. What you do for people in danger is amazing. I love that you use your senses selflessly. I mean I hate the fact that you get hurt in the process but clearly, you can handle yourself.”
“You don't know how relieved I am to hear you say that.”
“I'm glad I could help. But seriously the next time you keep a secret like this for that long, we're over.” You make eye contact with him as you say this, needing him to know you're not joking.
  “I promise I won't.”
“Good! Now onto that not having a next girlfriend thing?”
“Ugh, do we have to?” He leans back, making you yelp as you fall into him.
“Yes, we have to. I want to hear you say it.”
“It means I want to marry you.” You giggle at his words.
“I knew it, you're obsessed with me.”
“Does that mean you want to marry me too?” He asks hopefully. You almost feel bad for your next words.
“Hmm. I'll tell you next year.”
He runs his hands over his face. “You are not funny.” He says that but you can see the smile he's hiding.
Before you can respond, the doorbell rings. Perfect timing. “You keep a secret, I keep a secret.” You shrug and head to answer the door.
When you go back to the couch and set the food on the coffee table, Matt pulls you into him once again.
  “Someone's touchy today.”
“Just happy you're not trying to beat my ass.”
  “I would win.”
“Oh definitely.” You feel him smile on your neck. “Are you gonna make me wait another year to propose?”
“Sorry baby but you know I don't marry someone before the second year.”
“You're killing me y'know.” He groans loudly in your ear, making you lean away from his ticklish breath.
“Maybe your next girlfriend will marry you before the first anniversary.” You yelp again as he pulls you even further into him, using his strength to make sure you're as close as possible.
“Sweetheart you are the last girlfriend I'll ever have.”
  “Oh, I know I am.”
“Oh god, what does that mean?”
“It means if you ever have another girlfriend I'll haunt you for the rest of your life.”
“Haunt me? Are you dead in this scenario?” He asks in obvious confusion.
“Yes because I'm never gonna let you leave me.”
“I'm beginning to think you're a little crazy.”
“Crazy about you.” You wiggle your eyebrows.
  “That was terrible.”
“That was amazing, I'm a great flirt.”
“Yes, you are.” He chuckles, in that amazing deep voice. “I'm sorry for not telling you sooner.”
“I'm sorry for not asking you directly and using Foggy.”
He holds his hand out to you, sticking out his pinky.
  “What's this?”
  “A pinky promise.”
“Oh, a pinky promise with the devil.”
“Stop that, I promise not to lie to you again and you promise to ask me things instead of tricking poor Foggy.”
“Okay fine. Pinky promise.” You link your finger with him.
  “I love you.”
“Aww thank you.” You laugh at his surprised expression.
  “Say it back.” He whines.
“I don't wanna.” You can't hide the smile on your face.
Matt takes a second to stop himself from smiling before making the biggest, most dramatic frown.
“Fine, I love you too.” You break out in giggles as he tackles you.

"You should text Cal."...
I sat still in my bed, looking at my screen in confusion at Ashton's text. My brain unbelievably pieced together his distant attitude being tied to an attraction towards me. I furrowed my eyebrows and bit the inside of my cheek with doubt. There was no way he had a crush on me. I would know, right?
I hesitantly exited my messages with Ashton, scrolling to mine with Calum. Looking at my screen aimlessly, my thumbs shifted over the empty text box, thinking of something to say. I didn't want to scare him off, so I started simple.
"Hey"
I typed slowly, pressing send with shaky hands. I knew my nervousness wasn't stemmed from talking Calum himself, but more of finding out the full truth from him personally. Three dots appeared quickly, making my leg bounce with anxiety.
"Hi"
He responded flatly. I sighed at his dry tone. I knew his stubbornness would aide for an inconclusive conversation, so I decided to jump right in.
"What did Ashton mean before he ended the stream?" I sent the text hesitant, trying my best to sound nonchalant.
"Idk what you're talking about lol.".
His pathetic attempt at minor gaslighting me failed, I continued to push.
"Yes you do. Correct me if I'm wrong but he said you're mad at me because you love me?"
"Of course I love you. We all love you, you're my best friend."
I tossed my head back in frustration, rethinking my own suspicions. I realized I wasn't going to get what I wanted from him through a text, so I tried something else.
"Can we hangout tomorrow, just us? I feel like we need it."
I typed genuinely, knowing if he was telling the truth, he'd oblige. As the two of us hanging out alone used to be a common occurrence.
"You have work tomorrow."
He tried to think of a get away.
"I get off at 6. I'll see you after?"
I typed, giving him almost no choice but to see me. I watched patiently has I was left on read for a few minutes before Calum replied.
"I'm bringing drinks."
I smirked at his usual sass and need for a substance to calm his obvious.
" :) see you tomorrow."
I replied before switching my phone off and setting it beside me. I couldn't help but let butterflies slowly fill my stomach at the thought of myself making Calum flustered. For years, though I always found him attractive and had an underlying physical draw to him, I never imagined him more than anything than a friend. But I started to wonder if that was because I wanted it that way, or because I thought it had to be that way.
I began to doubt my own feelings towards Calum as I stared blankly at my wall in front of me. I bit my cheek as I reminisced on past memories and emotions throughout the years with Calum. I realized I never gave the thought of Calum as more than a friend a chance only for the wellness of our friendship as a group.
I stopped my thoughts in their tracks, snapping out of my trance and reminding myself that Calum hadn't confirmed nor denied his attraction to me yet, and I still could have simply misheard Ashton over my phone speaker. I settled deeply into my bed, letting my eyes flutter shut as I reassured myself of the pros and cons of tomorrows plans.
The sounds of footsteps and the occasional phone ringing filled the silence around me as I sat in boredom at my job. I had 15 minutes left of my shift, and all I could think about was the boy I would be meeting with when I got home. I tapped a pen mindlessly on the desk in front of me, my hours going by quickly while I let my mind wander about Calum.
On the dot, 6:00 rolled around and I began packing my belongings into my bag to head out to my car. I reached for my phone on my way out of the doors to reveal a message from Calum.
"Let me know when you're home.".
I caught myself smiling at his straight words, tucking my phone back into my pocket. I hurried quickly to my car, tossing my bag into the passenger seat before pulling out into the road.
I scolded myself mentally during my drive for beginning to fantasize about the possibilities with Calum and I. A smile escaped my lips at the idea of hearing Ashton's words correctly, and Calum really liking me.
Arriving home, I quickly raced to my bedroom, changing out of my work clothes and into black pajama shorts and oversized t-shirt. Leaving my makeup how it was, I pulled my hair out of its ponytail, running my hands through the tangles as I made my way to my bed, opening my phone.
"I'm home"
I sent a simple text to Calum before laying out on my back across my bed, letting out a tired breath. I rolled my ankles lazily, taking in the comfort of my bed before a single ding rang from my phone.
"Omw."
I bounced my leg anxiously awaiting Calum's arrival. Suddenly, it was like I was meeting him for the first time. I began to do things I wouldn't before think twice about. I checked my appearance multiple times in the mirror, made my bed, and tidied up my room. All things that I never cared about the boys, including Calum, minding before.
A few quiet knock fell at my front door, making me jolt from my frantic fidgeting. I calmly made my way to the front door, opening it to reveal Calum carrying a single plastic grocery bag.
"I have drinks and snacks." He lifted the bag slightly, speaking with a half smile. I stepped to the side, inviting him in. Already, I could sense his tense energy. I led him to the couch, I felt my heartbeat pick up its pace at the feeling of him so close behind me.
We took our seats beside each other, Calum leaving an awkwardly large space between us.
"Beer?" Calum offered blankly, reaching for the 6 pack of beer. I shook my head, more focused on the subject matter on my mind.
"No, thanks.".
"Wanna watch a movie or something?" He asked, forcing a fake civil smile.
The two of us sat sharing a glance for a moment before I took the wheel impatiently.
"I know you're lying." I spoke, looking down at my hands. Calum turned his head towards me quickly.
"What?"
"You're lying." I repeated, looking at his with a frustrated smile, "I know what heard on that stream, Cal." I leaned deeper into the couch, watching Calum's eyes dart across the room. He let out a sigh, appearing to be trying to gather his words.
"What do you want me to say?" He muttered quietly, making eye contact loosely. I looked down to my hands before back up to him through my eyelashes cautiously, watching his anxious expression.
"Is it true?" I spoke almost at a whisper, picking at my thumbs anxiously. He looked at me slowly, swallowing a lump in his throat before speaking deeply.
"What if it is?" He shrugged gently. I let out a sigh at his small confession, relieved at his words, yet finding myself in another boat of confusion.
"Why didn't you tell me before?" I spoke, moving closer to him, feeling my energy being pulled towards his. He looked away as I got closer, becoming visually nervous. Looking back at me, he replied.
"I wanted to at first" He began, "But I kept ignoring it after some years. I was scared of what you'd say." He mumbled.
"And Ashton knew all this time" I continued, tilting my head. He looked down.
"Yeah, he thought you wouldn't feel the same either.".
We sat quietly in each others silence for a moment, sharing glances and collecting our thoughts. I felt myself warm up inside at the confessions coming from Calum, guiding my next few bold moves.
"Cal." I spoke with a smile, moving in closer. His head perked up quickly at my movements.
"Hm?" He muttered quietly.
"You should've told me sooner." I began softly.
"Why..?" He furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes darting to mine back and forth.
My eyes were stuck in a trance deeply into his sparking brown ones, and my mind took control. Without thinking, I leaned in quickly, pressing my lips to his passionately. He released a small gasp before swiftly closing his eyes, melting into the kiss as well. I pulled back quickly with semi wide eyes, looking at Calum nervously. His mouth was half agape, searching for his words. I watched his shocked expression and loss for words, instantly doubting my actions.
"I-." I started, looking down, "I'm sorry Cal, I do-" I was abruptly cut off by Calum pulling me in for another kiss, holding the side of my face with a gentle hand. I chill ran through me as our lips intertwined perfectly, making me melt under his touch. His mouth on mine was the deciding factor that I wanted every bit of Calum, in every way, all of the time.
He pulled away slowly, looking at me adoringly in the eyes. A smile escaped his lips, followed by us giggling in unison at our impulsive actions.
"Was that so hard?" I teased lightly, filled with joy at the breakthrough Calum had made.
"If I knew this was gonna' happen, I definitely would have told you sooner." He joked with a scoff. I giggled, leaning back into the couch with a sigh.
"Was this your plan the whole time?" He asked smugly, narrowing his eyes. I rolled my eyes, shaking my head.
"No, actually." I laughed, "I came into this blind. Didn't have a plan." I reached for a beer from the coffee table in front of us, cracking it open swiftly and taking a sip. Calum rolled his head back lazily on the couch before speaking.
"In all realness though, I really do like you," He began, "Like, a lot. And I have for a really long time." I began to confess slowly as he joined me with a drink.
"How long?" I asked genuinely, I turned to look at him as he continued.
"Ever since Ash started bringing you around, really. Truthfully, you're one of the most beautiful girls i've ever met, Y/n." He chuckled with embarrassment, looking down to his drink. I blushed uncontrollably at his words, mimicking his actions and looking down.
"Whatever." I giggled at his hyperbole of my description. How could someone as fit as Calum find me to be the most beautiful girl he's ever met?
"It's true." He urged, "Ever since I laid eyes on you, I wanted you to be mine." He spoke boldly. I turned to him with a serious expression, shocked by his words.
"Really?" I mumbled quietly. He nodded his head with a shy smile
An uncontrollable grin took over me, immediately noticing the change in energy. Calum seemed to be slowly resuming his usual self, only leaving me with one question. What now?

Tumblr media
The pinging sound of your phone distracts you from your assignment. You put your pen down and look at your mobile screen to notice an incoming text message from Jungkook.
Jungkook: hey
You: hello
Jungkook: free for a chat?
Technically, you aren't.
You have assignments to complete and modules that need to be studied. It only makes sense for you to tell him that you're busy but then there's a part of you that's curious as to what Jungkook might have to say. Plus, you doubt you'd be able to focus on your assignment now, even if you try to. Your mind will keep going back to Jungkook and you will keep wondering if what he had to say was something important.
It's better you quench your curiosity and then get back to work as that will be more productive.
You: yeah sure
You: what's up?
Jungkook: nothing much
Jungkook: just wanted to talk to you :)
Jungkook: but firstly, i gotta ask, did you enjoy meeting Jimin and Taehyung today?
You: ofc I did!
You didn't.
It wasn't nice to be the unattractive one in a room full of attractive people. It wasn't nice to get judgemental looks from Jimin. It wasn't nice to watch Taehyung walk gracefully and realise how incompatible you're. But needless to say, you can't say all that to Jungkook.
Jungkook: well i'm glad
Jungkook: i look forward to our next practice session
You: me too!
A lie.
You chew on your lower lip as a thought occurs to you.
You: btw when is it?
Jungkook: I'm not sure
Jungkook: but most likely next week
Relief courses through your veins, at that. You'd at least get the time to prepare yourself.
You: works fine
Jungkook: we could meet sometime before that if you'd like?
You: for the competition?
You: like to discuss something about it?
Jungkook: nah
Jungkook: just to meet and get to know each other better ;)
Your stomach sinks at what he could possibly mean. But you try your best to not come to any conclusions, although the little wink at the end of his text makes it incredibly difficult for you to do so.
You: is this for anything in particular?
You: i'm asking because i'll have to check my schedule and make time accordingly
Jungkook: nothing in particular really
Jungkook: well we could maybe just go to a restaurant
Jungkook: eat and chat ;)
Uh oh. This definitely sounds like a date.
But you still refuse to come to a conclusion and decide to ask him directly.
You: tell me if I'm wrong but this is sounding like a date 🤔
Jungkook: well then maybe it is 😏
When you read the text that confirms your suspicions, you sigh.
You're aware that Jungkook thinks you're his dream partner. With that awareness comes the understanding that sooner or later he'd have asked you out on a date. Although to be fair, you didn't think it would be this soon. You thought you had more time before you had to face the consequences of your actions.
But then it's Jungkook. He does have this aura about him which gives off the impression that he just goes after what he wants, irrespective of the pace the rest of the world is accustomed to.
However, you don't feel excited at the thought of going on a date with him. If anything, it is making you feel guilty.
One month. Just one month. It's not permanent. The moment you remove the ring, Jungkook will stop seeing you as his ideal partner. Everything will go back to normal.
You repeat the words in your head like a mantra until you feel some of the guilt subside.
You: well then
You: it's a date
Jungkook: great!
Jungkook: are you free tomorrow? After the classes get over?
You: yeah, I am
Jungkook: great I'll come to pick you up
Jungkook: wear something nice for me 😉
Jungkook: oh also, what kind of food do you prefer?
Jungkook: Italian? Mexican? Chinese?
You: anything works for me
Jungkook: well that answer won't do :(
You: umm well then Italian sounds great!
Jungkook: done 👍
Wow.
You stare at your screen blankly as the whole conversation sinks in.
Looks like you are going on a date with Jungkook. That too tomorrow.
Tumblr media
"I don't understand who made him a professor," Brie grumbles, looking done with everything.
"Trust me everyone in the class has the same question," you murmur, feeling a mix of amusement, frustration and annoyance.
The professor in question is Mr. Reymond, who writes whatever he has to, on board, while talking and explaining it to himself. Once done, he will ask the class if they have understood or not, but hey, he doesn't really care. Hence, he answers his own question and rubs the board before moving on to the next topic.
"Man, his classes always make me feel sleepy," she yawns. "It's such a pain in the ass to pretend that you're listening to his shit."
"Eh, it's not like he cares," you shrug, noticing the number of people who are busy chatting away, some even occupied with their phones.
Brie notices the same thing and wonders if she could get away with sleeping through the class. "Do you think he would care if we sleep?"
"Try it out, I guess."
"I should give it a try, it would be like a cool experiment," she nods, applauding herself for coming up with something this great. "Now, c'mon close your notebook and put your head down on the table."
You glance at her sideways. "I never said I'm gonna accompany you in your little sleep experiment."
"It's not like copying those notes blankly would do you any benefit." She rolls her eyes and takes the initiative to take your notebook away from you and closes it shut. "Now sleep."
You huff and contemplate. You won't lie, you are really sleepy. You woke up earlier than usual because you had to choose what to wear for today's date. It wasn't an easy decision to make as you had to settle on something that won't look too formal or fancy to attend classes in but at the same time won't look too casual to wear on a date. Ultimately, you squared down to a yellow dress. It's simple yet elegant, which makes it the perfect choice.
But the question in hand is should you give in to your sleepiness? You look at Brie who's looking at you with eyes full of expectations and sigh. A nap is worth it. Who knows maybe you'll wake up looking fresh.
Brie grins at you, satisfied and proud when you put your head down before she does the same.
As it turns out, Mr. Reymond couldn't really care less about his students taking a nap in the middle of the class. Good for both of you, as when the bell rings, you two wake up feeling refreshed and energised.
"Want to go to the nearby cafe?" Brie asks, as she packs her bag up.
"I can't, I have assignments to complete."
That's technically not a lie, you do have assignments that need to be done. However, it's not due to the assignments that you deny accompanying Brie to the cafe. You're supposed to go on your little date with Jungkook and it's only after the date that you'll be able to return to your college work. But you can't tell that to Brie and hence give her the half-truth.
She sighs and mumbles to herself, "I should have guessed that response."
You two head out of the class and you take your phone out with the intention of shooting Jungkook a text to let him know that your classes are done for the day.
"Hey, isn't it that guy?" Brie elbows you and asks in a hushed whisper. "What's his name?"
You furrow your brows, interrupted mid texting and look at Brie in a questioning manner. She motions you to look in a particular direction and your eyes follow hers.
Your mouth parts open in surprise and your steps halt when you realise who it is. "Jungkook."
"Jungkook! Jeon Jungkook! That's what his name is," Brie exclaims, finally feeling satisfied having put the puzzle of his name in place.
You look back at the screen of your phone and delete the words you had typed. Fuck, when Jungkook had said he would be coming to pick you up, you didn't think he meant right in front of your classroom.
"Isn't he a fashion designing student, though? What is he doing here in our building?" Brie asks out loud to no one in particular.
"You know him?" Your ask, your interest suddenly piqued.
"Well duh," she states with an expression as if that should be obvious. "Who doesn't know him? He's famous for being a fuckboy. Wonder what the girls see in him, though."
Well, that makes sense. After all, Jungkook has got quite a reputation for that. "I mean, he's attractive. I think that does it for him," you shrug.
She scoffs in amusement and looks at you in disbelief. "Y/N, please. He's not attractive."
Now, it's you who's looking at her in disbelief. "Are you blind? He's literally one of the most handsome guys I have ever come across."
"Eh, I don't find anything attractive about being a jerk," Brie replies without missing a beat as she looks over to where Jungkook is with eyes full of judgement.
Say whatever anyone wants, there's no changing Brie's mind about the opinion she holds of him. She had seen many girls cry over him and had formed a sense of dislike towards the guy from the very beginning. But it wasn't something personal until Jungkook broke Sana's heart.
Sana, who's a very dear friend of Brie's, is also one of the sweetest and kindest people she has ever met. The audacity Jungkook had playing with Sana's heart had Brie fuming.
She had half the mind to go and punch Jungkook right in his face but somehow managed to hold back her anger. But it wasn't only Jungkook who was on the receiving end of her rage, it was Sana as well.
She simply couldn't understand why Sana would ever expect anything more from Jungkook, despite knowing the kind of reputation he has. Brie did not mean to be that person, but she couldn't help but think that people walking up to him and offering their hearts on a silver plate gave Jungkook the perfect excuse to not own up to the hurt he causes people and say 'they signed up for it'.
However, according to Sana, she had genuinely believed that Jungkook cared for her and liked her enough to not let the relationship be just another casual fling. But of course, she was proved wrong.
Brie had several logical arguments why expecting something more from Jungkook was foolish. But the tears that streamed down Sana's face, had made Brie's heart soften. It made her realise that she did not need to make the points as Sana was most likely telling those things to herself anyway.
Things become messy when despite knowing, that you'll end up getting hurt, you go for it, thinking and believing that it's worth it. When the hurt and pain do catch up, who do you blame? The person who caused it or yourself?
If only Jungkook had a decent bone in his body and knew how to respect people's emotions.
Nevertheless, since that incident, Brie has been holding this resentment towards the boy for making someone like Sana feel this way. She simply can't keep calm every time she thinks about the amount of hurt he causes people and gets away with. Just like that, without any consequences.
Imagine her surprise when she realises that Jungkook; the very same Jungkook she despises, is walking towards the both of you.
The moment you have the same realisation, you look away from him and look down at your feet. You chew on your bottom lip and keep your gaze fixed on the ground, trying to avoid any weird looks you might be getting from the people around.
Jungkook stops in front of you and grins at the way you refuse to look at him. He bends down so that your eyes and his, are at the same level and greets you. "Hey, Y/N."
"Umm hey," you greet back meekly.
He assumes you're feeling shy and the thought makes him oddly satisfied.
"Are you ready for our date?" He queries.
Brie chokes on thin air and starts coughing loudly. "What do you mean by date?"
You look up immediately to answer Brie before Jungkook can but your words get stuck in your throat when you notice the look on Brie's face.
It's that of incredulity.
Her eyes go back and forth between you and Jungkook and it immediately makes you feel the same way you did under Jimin's gaze. You assume that she is most likely thinking the same thing Jimin did; why is Jungkook going on a date with you?
But the fact that it's coming from Brie, makes you more defensive than you were when it came to Jimin.
You almost feel betrayed?
"I think the word 'date' is pretty self-explanatory," you snap, without intending to.
Your sudden defensive stance and stiff body language catches Brie off guard. And before she can ask anything else, you leave the spot and start walking towards the main gate.
Jungkook walks right behind you.
"Who was she?" Jungkook pries once the two of you are out. Although the interaction was short, he could feel how the question asked by the girl caused you visible discomfort.
You take a deep exhale and feel immediate regret for the way you responded to Brie. You don't know why you reacted the way you did. Anyone would think the way Jimin did. Anyone would wonder why someone like Jungkook would take interest in someone like you. So what if Brie is your friend? That doesn't mean that she doesn't have a pair of eyes and common sense. Why did you even think that she would have a different reaction?
"She's Brie," you sigh softly. "She's my friend."
"I see," Jungkook nods, taking the hint that you do not wish to elaborate any further. "Should I call the car then?"
This has you blinking and stops your overthinking. "Car?"
Jungkook winks at you. "You didn't think I'd take you out in an uber, did you?"
Well to be fair, you didn't expect anything in particular. You were too busy stressing about how you should go about things to think about what Jungkook might have planned for the date.
You watch silently as Jungkook types something on his phone and moments later a Mercedes pulls over. You're too much of a noob to guess what the model is but you can tell it's expensive (well, to be fair, all Mercedes cars are).
He quickly walks up to the car and opens the backseat door for you. "Come on, hop in," he urges you, looking excited.
You thank him with a small, unsure smile and get in. Jungkook shuts the door before jogging over to the other side and getting in.
He sits next to you and asks the chauffeur to start the car, having already told him where to go.
However, you have no idea. You're in a car which has three people in it and it's only you who has no clue where you're headed. This doesn't sit right with you and causes your curiosity to spike.
"Where are we going?" You query looking at Jungkook expectantly.
"You will see when we reach there," he replies with a small curve of his lips. "That dress looks really cute on you, by the way. It suits you."
You have never believed any of Jungkook's compliments. You know he only says that because he is viewing you through the rose-coloured glasses the ring has put on him. Hence, every time he gives you these little compliments, you just pretend to accept them with a smile.
But for the first time, it occurs to you, how thoughtless it is of you to not compliment him in return.
Hence your eyes go on a little mission to find something you could compliment him on, knowing full well that there's plenty you could acknowledge and sing praises of.
However, your little mission is proven to be fatal when you get distracted by how ethereal Jungkook looks.
For the first time, you take notice of the white shirt he's wearing. The plain simple piece of clothing makes him look like an angel but the top three buttons which are kept undone make him look like sin.
With his right hand gripping the roof handle, his elbow rests on the window pane and the position somehow makes the veins in his arms bulge out. You find yourself feeling grateful for the rolled-up sleeves as it lets you have a clear view of his thick muscular arms that are inked with tattoos.
Your eyes move from his arms to the expanse of chest that's visible and the sight has you gulping. Gosh, why does it make you want to run your hands over his chest? You shake that thought away and think that it's a wise decision for your eyes to move on to somewhere safer; where you won't be having these unholy thoughts. Your eyes trail up towards his neck and eventually to his face.
His lips. They look so soft and plump and it makes you imagine how they'd feel against yours. The little mole under his lower lip adds to the beauty of his mouth and makes them look even more kissable. You don't even want to get started with the way his lips are curved upwa–
Wait. Why are they curved upwards?
Your eyes snap to his and shit. He's been watching you along.
Your whole body heats up in embarrassment and you scold yourself for having these thoughts.
Jungkook is attractive but that doesn't mean that you should be going on thinking about how kissable his lips are. It was one thing when you were doing it earlier but it's a whole different thing, now. You don't want to imagine kissing him because you'd never let something like that happen.
Him kissing you under the influence of the ring would be the same thing as someone spiking a person's drink and taking advantage of them. You'd never be able to live with yourself, if you were to do that.
You know what you're doing right now is probably no better but as long as it's harmless flirting and silly dates.
Only a month. Only a month. Only a month.
"Done checking me out?"
You look away, flustered and ashamed. "I wasn't."
He knows you're lying.
He also knows that you know that he knows, you're lying. Hence, he decides not to argue. Instead, he takes out his phone and connects it to the car's speaker.
Your brows knit together when you hear the melody that's now playing through the speakers.
"That's my favourite song," you inform Jungkook, your state of surprise turning into that of joy. Your mood lifts instantly as the light-hearted song greets your ears.
"I know," he responds, trying his level best to hold back the smile that's threatening to make an appearance.
Now, that has you looking at him weirdly. How on earth does he know that this is one of your favourite songs?
"How do you know that this is my favourite song?"
"Let's just say I stumbled upon a post yesterday that happened to let me know of this fun fact." The smile that he was trying to hold back, finally breaks across his face and his eyes sparkle with mischief.
Your brows shoot up. Here, you were thinking that maybe it's just pure coincidence and that maybe he likes this song too. But, no. Boy knew exactly what he was doing.
A fleeting thought appears in your mind as to what pictures he might have seen and whether you even looked presentable in them. But you find it easier to get rid of that thought by telling yourself that he's still here. If he had found those pictures ugly, he would have not gone on a date with you.
"So you were stalking me?" You squint your eyes at him in a scolding manner. "You just keep proving to me that you're a red flag."
Jungkook raises his hands in the air as if surrendering. What other option does he have anyway? He has nothing to say to defend himself. It's not like he wants to even. He isn't ashamed of his doings, at all. If anything, it was fun.
"Don't blame me. It's all your fault anyways," he retorts. "Your profile appeared on my for you page and how could I resist the urge to stare at that gorgeous face of yours?"
A red hue appears on your cheeks. You may not believe in his words but the way he looks at you every time while complimenting you, makes you want to hide from his intense gaze.
"Well, my profile let you know of my favourite song," you state, trying to deflect the topic. "What else did you happen to learn from my socials?"
"Let's see. You have a family dog, he's an Australian Shepherd. His name is Jack," he mused while running a hand through his hair. "Your favourite subject is biology and maths. You have a thing for Tom Hiddleston. And chocolate-flavoured ice cream is your favourite."
Damn. They are all correct. You didn't even know someone could know so much about you just from your instagram page.
"You know almost everything about me," you almost stutter your words out.
"I hardly think it's much. I bet there's a lot I don't know about you," he comments.
There isn't. Nothing interesting, at least.
Clearing your throat, you once again, change the topic of conversation and make it about him. "Compared to what I know about you, you do seem to know a lot about me."
He hums, acknowledging your point. "Well, what would you like to know about me?"
You shake your head, refusing to make things easy. "Nah, nah, nah. I'm going to stalk your insta and deduce my facts."
He laughs with his head thrown back, putting his neck on display. "Sure, then. Go ahead. Do your research."
You huff as if to say, challenge accepted. Taking your phone out from your bag, you type his name on the search bar and click on his profile when it shows up.
"Look at that, you haven't followed me yet," Jungkook whispers right next to your ears as he leans towards you to get clearer access to your mobile screen.
You yelp, not expecting him to be that close. Shuddering when his breath hits the skin of your neck, you pray to whatever god there is to give you strength to make it through the car ride.
You try to focus back on the screen and on the silly challenge you have taken. Scrolling through his insta, you realise there isn't really anything that gives away much about Jungkook. His account is full of pictures of his designs and some occasional photos with his friends and of him partying.
What's worse? All posts are captionless.
Not wanting to accept defeat, you choose to scroll down even further. There must be a time when he put up pictures without giving them much thought. Maybe when he was in high school? Yes, that sounds about right. That's definitely the age when people find even a leaf on the ground worth posting on their social media.
However, your strong sense of determination dims when you reach his last post only to find that it's some quote.
You huff and lock your phone screen, which makes Jungkook lean back, finally allowing you to breathe freely.
"This is unfair," you complain with no real bite.
"It's not my fault, I'm just a private person," he defends himself with a wide bunny grin.
"But you know so much about me."
"I assure you, you'll get plenty of time to make things even," he winks, suggesting that this might be both of your first date but definitely not the last.
"You're under my observation," you inform him in a serious tone. "Just wait until I have got you all figured out."
"I will be patiently waiting," his eyes crinkle in the corner as he enjoys the playfulness of the conversation.
Before you can come up with a response, the car comes to a halt and you're reminded that this car ride isn't going to go on forever. You wish, it did though.
Maybe it's the ring that makes you feel confident enough to say what comes to your mind but somehow, you were comfortable like this with Jungkook. But now it feels like the small bubble you were in, has popped. You will have to step out and you are sure people will give you the same looks Jimin and Brie did.
Before you can mentally prepare yourself, a valet opens the door for you. You smile at him and step out.
Your mouth falls open when you realise where you are. It's one of the costliest Italian places in the city.
"I knew you'd like it."
Jungkook feels content seeing the look of awe and surprise on your face. It tells him that you were not expecting to be here and perhaps that's exactly what he wanted.
"I-I do," you stutter trying to find the right words to describe how you're feeling. "It's just that I wish you had told me that we were coming here. I would have dressed accordingly."
"If you were to ask me, you are dressed just right." Jungkook comments. "And you don't need to worry about dressing right. Irrespective of what you wear, you are always the prettiest in the room."
You give Jungkook a small smile to let him know that you appreciate his words. However, his words don't have much of an effect in easing your nerves.
How can it ease you when you know that everything Jungkook is saying is because of the ring? You know you aren't the prettiest. Something which is highlighted even more by Jungkook's presence next to you.
Jungkook takes a hold of your hand— totally oblivious to your insecure thoughts— and with a wide excited grin guides you inside.
"Good evening sir. Good evening ma'am," the receptionist greets the both of you with a warm welcoming smile. "May I please have the name the reservation was made under?"
"Jeon Jungkook," Jungkook replies.
The receptionist nods and does a quick check on his computer before looking up. "Sam will guide you to your table. I hope you enjoy your time with us."
A waiter approaches both of you and upon reading his nametag you realise that it's Sam.
"Please follow me," he requests, politely.
You and Jungkook trail behind Sam until he leads you both to a more secluded area and ultimately stops near a two-seater round table. On your way, you keep your eyes fixed on the ground and try to make a curtain out of your hair so that people don't get a look at your face.
"Please take a seat. Your attendant will be with you shortly." Sam bows, before taking his leave.
Now that you feel a bit more comfortable with the area being secluded, you set your hair back in position and take notice of your surroundings.
You look around in amazement and take in how quaint the place is and how peaceful it feels. Unlike the low murmur outside, there's a low soothing music in the air which greets your ears and makes you relax. The lights are dimmed and to make up for it, hangs a chandelier right above the table and a beautiful vase of bright red roses sits at the centre. Dare you say everything looks very romantic?
The sound of chair scraping against the floor catches your attention.
"Per favore prendi posto," Jungkook says with an Italian accent. Tries to. It comes out so adorably terrible that you end up laughing.
He frowns, confused. "Was that funny?"
You try your best to stop your laughter but the confused expression on his face doesn't help. A few moments later, as your laughter dials down to small chuckles, you finally manage to reply to his question. "It was unique. I have never heard that accent before."
Jungkook squints his eyes and extends his hand for you to take. "Why don't you teach me then?"
You put your hand in his and let him guide you to your seat. "I know for a fact that every time I try to do an accent, it comes out terrible. So, I'm not even going to try."
Once you are seated, Jungkook does the same. "Well, I should at least get points for trying. I listened to a few Italian phrases over and over again during our  entrepreneurship class."
"Well you do get points for your efforts," you smile cheekily and shrug.
"Well you're worth the effort," he flirts, not missing the opportunity.
Worth the effort. Something about those words makes your smile drop.
Mayhaps, it's because you have recently been questioning your worthiness and have been wondering exactly how much of the good things and experiences that you have always wished for, do you actually deserve.
Going on a date with a handsome guy and having your heart flutter at the romantic gestures made by him, had always been something that you wanted to feel and experience.
Here you are. Having exactly that experience but feeling way different than you had imagined.
Here's Jungkook, saying how you're worth the effort and all it does is remind you of the fact that it's all because of a ring. That you need a ring for someone to think that way.
Ironically, it makes you feel worthless.
"Good evening, I'll be your attendant for today," a waitress arrives and introduces herself to the both of you with a smile. However—and you might be wrong—but the smile she shoots at you and the one she shoots Jungkook seem different.
"Uhh right," Jungkook trails off awkwardly, realising that the two of you haven't taken a look at the menu at all. "We have not yet decided what to order."
The waitress smiles, putting her beautiful set of teeth on display. "That's not an issue, sir. Just let me know when you're ready and I'll take your order."
With that she bows and leaves.
"Take this," he hands you a menu book while he opens another copy of the same. "I have never been to this place before but I have heard that the food is good."
Your eyes scan the list of food items on the menu book and the prices next to them. Everything is overpriced but it does not surprise you. As long as the preparations are good, you think.
After much thinking, you choose to order lasagne while Jungkook orders risotto.
When the waitress is done taking the orders, she asks if there's anything else the two of you would like. You can't help but notice how despite the question involving both of your choices, her question is directed at Jungkook. Her eyes remain fixed on his and she totally ignores your presence.
It's only when Jungkook asks if you'd like some red wine that she is forced to acknowledge you.
"Yeah, sure." You could really do with some wine now.
You exhale a sigh when the waitress leaves. To not overthink what her behaviour could possibly mean—although you already have some idea—you try to make a conversation with Jungkook.
"This place is really nice," you look around, appreciating the little details that make this place such a calm and soothing one. "You have good taste."
"To be honest, I just googled the costliest Italian place near me and this came up."
You quirk a brow, finding his thought process to be somewhat funny. "So you just wanted to show off how rich you are?"
He finds your question amusing. What he finds even more entertaining is how directly you ask him about it. "Well, being rich is supposed to be attractive."
"I mean I guess everyone has their preferences," you nod, not giving his words much thought.
However, your casual tone has Jungkook suddenly curious about whether you find it attractive or not.
"What are your preferences? Do you find rich guys attractive?"
"I won't necessarily say so. I mean sure, it's ideal if a person is well off. But it's not like being rich is a character trait or something."
Jungkook finds himself feeling confused by your words as it doesn't make it clear to him. You said you don't really find it attractive but then you also mentioned how it's ideal if it's someone who's well off.
You notice the look of confusion on his face and elaborate your point a little. "If you were to imagine the perfect case scenario, you'd obviously imagine there to be no lack. Why would you daydream and imagine a person having any sort of struggle, be it financial or of any other form?"
Jungkook kind of gets your point. Perfect case scenario; the person is well off. But it still doesn't satisfy him as not everyone can afford that lifestyle. "Not everyone's rich, though. There's only a small part of society that can be classified as rich and well-off. Does it not make the rich ones more attractive and more desirable?"
You hum, finding the conversation interesting. "Again, like I said it's about individual preference–"
"What do you prefer?" He cuts you off, reminding you how his initial query was about your preferences. He couldn't care less about other people's choices if he were, to be honest.
"For me, I don't think I have considered a person's bank balance before going out with them," you muse, thoughtfully. "So no, I don't think being rich makes someone attractive."
"How come?" He prods finding your response simply absurd.
"For one, it's their parents'. No one becomes rich at the age we are unless you're in the entertainment industry or you own a startup that took off really well," you hum and pause for a moment or two, trying to figure out how to put your thoughts into words.
"Second, money is never stable. You can be a billionaire one day, a millionaire the next and broke the day after. It could go vice versa as well, you could become a billionaire from being broke," you add, your words spilling out one after the other. "Wealth will come and go but if my attraction is based on that, then it's bound to be fickle."
When you had initially said that a guy's wealth is not necessarily attractive to you, Jungkook presumed that you were lying. But as you speak he can sense the amount of thought you're giving into your words and realises that you were speaking the truth.
"Being wealthy is advantageous though."
"Never said it wasn't–" you agree, "–and trust me no one knows that better than the people who come from a humble background."
"What is that supposed to mean?" He tilts his head, trying to understand where you're taking this conversation.
"Some like to assert their superiority by displaying the advantages they enjoy. They believe that others need to be reminded of the luxury the rich can afford. Which is kind of stupid because, people who aren't well off, are aware of it already."
"Do you think I consider myself to be superior just because I'm rich?" A challenging look enters his gaze as he asks the question that comes to his mind immediately after hearing your words.
"We wouldn't be having this conversation if you didn't," you reply, not faltering under his gaze and perhaps for the first time, it's you who smirks in satisfaction.
Jungkook, who had been leaning forward and had one of his elbows on the table, now reclines such that his back touches the chair. He looks at you for a few moments and then suddenly breaks into a fit of chuckles. Something that causes you to giggle as well.
Jungkook has never been shy about the wealth his family has acquired over the years. Be it in the way he throws luxurious parties every once in a while or be it in the way he chooses different cars to arrive at college, he always makes a statement about his wealth. It is also one of the many reasons why he has never had to put much effort into getting the girls he has been interested in.
He does not know how many of them have found his habit of displaying his money attractive and how many have found it the opposite, but one thing's for sure; no one has ever called him out for it right on his face. And he just can't help but find amusement and humour in it.
He doesn't even know how the conversation came to this, because to be honest, it's a very weird topic of discussion for a first date. But he won't lie, he enjoyed it nevertheless. It was refreshing.
The rest of the evening goes by just fine. Once the wine gets in your system, you loosen up and giggle at the smallest of things. The dishes, although overpriced, are delicious and are a great treat for both of your tastebuds.
Perhaps, the only thing that makes you uncomfortable is the waitress. Every time she comes to your table, she somehow manages to intentionally ignore you without making it obvious. Her total disregard for you and the unnecessarily wide grins she gives Jungkook, makes you squirm in your seat.
However, you try your best to ignore it. You succeed at it even. But once you two are done with your food, she comes with the bill and what you have been trying to ignore, becomes unavoidable.
You take the bill, intending to split it in two when you notice that she has left a small note at the bottom.
Call me when you get bored with her ;)
And right below it, is her number.
Your mood deflates dramatically when you read it. Is it that obvious to others, that you aren't exactly what someone would prefer? That sooner or later, someone would get bored of you?
Believing the answer to these questions to be yes, you pretend to not have noticed the little note and pass the bill to Jungkook.
After one month, when you remove the ring and when Jungkook ultimately stops seeing you as his dream partner, who knows maybe he will end up using her number. Yes, you can totally see that happening. She's also his type. Unlike you.
Jungkook opens the menu book, inside which lies the bill and notices what the waitress has written for him. It makes him chuckle. "She left her number for me."
Your left eye twitches a little. "I know."
He shakes his head at the waitress's silly behaviour, not paying it any mind.
You won't ever say it out loud but maybe you expected a little more reaction from Jungkook. Anything to defend you and recognize how disrespectful her words were.
But you try pushing those thoughts away. It's only for a month and Jungkook is most likely more than used to girls giving him their numbers. Moreover, it's not like Jungkook would be here sitting in front of you on a date, had it not been for the ring. Who are you to expect things from him when you're doing something so low? Beggars can't be choosers.
"I am gonna pay my share of the bill using card," you inform him, unzipping your purse.
Jungkook frowns at you. "You do realise that I'm the one who's paying right?"
"Nope, we are gonna split the bill in half," you vehemently disagree.
He is baffled at your weird behaviour. He's the one who asked you out on a date, he's the one who chose this place and hence, shouldn't it be a given that he's the one who's going to pay?
"There's no way I'm letting you pay," he states, leaving no room for argument.
Splitting the bill in two, is simply what has always seemed right to you. You have always been the kind of person who would offer and prefer to pay for their share. You believe that to be morally right.
But maybe, if it were someone else, you wouldn't be so hellbent on paying. You would have understood that it's only a first date and that they are more than comfortable paying. If it were someone else, you'd most likely accept their generosity and later take them out on a date to make things equal.
But it's Jungkook. The same Jungkook who thinks lowly of the real you. If you were to let him pay, you doubt you'd be able to sleep peacefully at night.
You see how determined he is to not let you pay but you refuse to back down. You gnaw on your lower lip as you come up with something that might just be a little childish and silly.
Before Jungkook can comprehend a thing, you're getting up from your seat and quite literally start running. Jungkook sits there with his eyes wide in surprise as he fails to understand what just happened. It's only after a few moments that he realises that you're headed towards the reception, to pay.
This makes him get up from his seat at the speed of light and he too starts sprinting like a man on a mission.
However, and much to his dismay, when he approaches the reception, your card is in the process of being swiped.
Jungkook heaves, not prepared to be running right after having a meal. "My goodness, you're something."
"For someone who looks this fit, you really shouldn't be running out of breath after sprinting a few steps," you tease playfully, trying to steer away the conversation from the topic of paying the bill.
He immediately tries to take deep slow breaths to give the impression that he isn't having a tough time getting air in his lungs. "I can breathe just fine. I was just caught off guard by you suddenly taking off."
"You left me with no other choice," you shrug as you collect your card back.
Having finally accepted defeat, Jungkook swipes his card and proceeds with his payment.
When the both of you are done, you two head out after thanking the man at the reception for their services. Once out, you take a deep inhale of the fresh air, feeling glad that you're out of the restaurant and of the fact that you'll most likely never see that waitress again. You think you're finally done with all the uncomfortable situations for today and find yourself looking forward to returning to the dorms.
You're proven wrong when Jungkook asks a question you didn't even know had the potential of making you feel distressed.
"Let's take a picture."
He takes his phone out and opens the camera application. The moment he turns the camera towards you, you bring your palms up to cover your face.
"Ah, no I look so tired. Don't click my pictures."
Jungkook frowns but complies and brings his phone down. At least, for the time being.
"You weren't this shy when we met the first time," he wonders out loud. You feeling uncomfortable modelling in front of Jimin and Taehyung was understandable, after all, you were meeting them for the first time and you don't have much experience with modelling. The fear of embarrassing yourself is natural. However, the more time he spends with you, the more he realises how shy and skittish you are. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just different from the first impression he had of you.
Your eyes snap to him when you register his words. Your mind reminds you of the things you did before the ring and it immediately makes you cringe.
"Please don't remind me of that," you mumble in a small voice, suddenly finding your heels very interesting.
"Hey," he whispers upon realising that he might have said the wrong thing. He places his index finger below your chin and makes you look at him. "I meant it when I said that you're always the prettiest in the room."
It's all because of the ring. You know Jungkook would never say this, otherwise. Despite that, the insecure voice in your head quietens downs a little.
"Even though your hair is a little messy," he adds light-heartedly and pats the top of your head to smooth out the frizziness. "You still look unearthly."
His eyes hold a certain warmth and gentleness to them, that you haven't seen from him before. It makes the rest of the world fade away and makes you whisper, "Thank you."
Had it been anyone else, Jungkook would be making his move and would be kissing them right now. But you're not just anyone else. You're, you.
Jungkook has always had a certain formula for dates. Ask them out, book a table in an expensive hotel, take them to the destination in one of his luxurious cars, flirt around a little to make them feel flustered and once the date is coming to an end, kiss them. It's always been that simple.
However, the date with you was different. Except for a few particular moments, he didn't feel like he had the upper hand at all. It was like going on a pre-planned journey but then you took over the driver seat and took him along with you on a ride.
"Do you want to take a picture?" This time, he asks in a gentle tone, instead of just stating it like he did the previous time.
Although you still feel unsure, you nod.
Jungkook, happy that you finally agreed to take a picture, brings his phone up and positions it such that the both of you are in frame. He tilts his head so that it's touching yours and clicks the picture.
He looks at the photo and grins, satisfied with the result. "Look at the picture, it is cute."
You fail to find anything cute about yourself but hum, nevertheless.
Tumblr media
When you reach your dorms, it's around eight in the evening. Thanks to Jungkook who wanted to go around the city a little and took the long way back.
Nevertheless, you are glad to be back in the comfort of your dorms. Thankfully your roommate isn't here, which saves you from the grilling questions she would be throwing at you, otherwise.
You complete your assignments, clean up your room and make yourself a packet of ramen before going to bed.
With your cheek pressed against the pillow and your arms tightly hugging the plush toy you got recently, you recall the events from today's date.
It was one of a kind, that's for sure.
At first, it didn't feel quite right. But gradually, you just went with the flow.
The more you spend time with Jungkook, the more you get comfortable saying the things you usually would. Of course, it's not all rainbows and sunshine but it's still enough. If the Y/N from two weeks ago were to learn about the way you talk to him now, she would most likely never believe you.
Most importantly, you don't dread spending time with him as much.
Ignoring the waitress incident, you'd say that the date was enjoyable even.
One moment, which stands out to you, however, is the little moment you shared with him towards the end of the date. You weren't surprised by the words he said but the seriousness with which he said them almost had you breathless.
A small smile appears involuntary on your lips as you recall the look in his eyes and it almost makes you feel….shy?
But the moment you realise what you're doing, you shake away the feeling. It's all because of the ring, you remind yourself repeatedly until the little warmth that you were feeling is completely gone.
Pledging to not think about the date and Jungkook anymore, you tightly shut your eyes and wait for sleep to take over you.
Tumblr media
When your eyes open, you're in a whole different place.
You don't know where you are but it feels comfortable, familiar and safe. You look around a little in hopes that maybe you will recognise the place but you fail to find any clues.
After some time, you notice a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
But wait, is this a tunnel?
You don't know. It might as well be a cave. You can't tell, really. Whatever it might be, you don't feel the urge to figure out the exact answer as it feels so familiar. As if you have known this place forever.
However, the light has you curious. What is it? Where is it coming from? What lies out there?
You hesitate for a split second if you should leave this place of comfort but in the end, curiosity gets the best of you.
You take tiny steps and head outside. The bright light makes you wince in discomfort. A look of irritation appears on your features as your pupils try to adjust to the brightness. You squint your eyes hard and try to look for the source of the light. However, you look away immediately, finding it impossible to stare at the object.
Giving up, you allow your pupils the time it needs to adapt. When you feel comfortable enough to look around, your eyes take in everything about the environment you currently find yourself in.
It's new, somewhere you have never been before which makes you feel nervous. Who knows what you're going to encounter here? What kind of people you'll meet? What experiences will you have?
A sudden cheer coming from a distance catches your attention and without giving it a second thought, you start walking in that direction. Anything is better than being alone in an unknown place.
However, after a few steps, what you see, dissipates your fears.
You see swings, seesaws, slides and a variety of other rides that look incredibly fun. Birds chirp away, colourful butterflies fly from one flower to another and fishes swim in the pond.
It's a playground, you realise.
You look down at your feet and only then do you happen to notice that you're barefoot and that you have been walking on soft grass all along. Excitement blooms in your chest when you see how beautiful everything around you is. You have never felt anything like this before. There's so much to do, so much to enjoy and so much to see.
Deciding that it's the fishes you want to see first, you rush to the pond side and crouch down.
You stare in awe as you see a variety of fishes, varying vastly in size and colour, swim around in the water. Some occasionally come to the surface which causes small bubbles to come out of their mouths. Then, your eyes land on the water lilies and you gasp at how beautiful they are. You look at the water droplets that rest on the petals and you feel awe at how perfectly round they are; like little pearls. You dip your hand in the pond and the cold water brings contrast to the warmth you have been feeling on your skin since stepping out.
Warmth. Light. Too much light.
Suddenly something clicks in your mind and you realise that the source of light you were trying to figure out a few moments ago, was the Sun.
You giggle at the thought that it took you so much time to realise that.
You're so silly.
Shrill excited screams greet your ears and your eyes snap in the direction the noise came from. Your smile widens even further when you realise it's a group of children playing together. They look so happy and ecstatic chasing each other that it immediately makes you want to join.
You get up and run in their direction. "Can I join?" A bright grin plays on your lips as you look at them expectantly.
The children stop playing and look at you. Their bright smiles fade slowly and something cruel, and menacing takes over their features. The sky turns grey, thunder roars and owls start to screech.
You immediately know that there is something wrong. You turn around and start running with all that you have got.
But you only make it so far.
A tall, dark, hooded figure appears in front of you and out of nowhere, you lose your mobility. You try your best to move your feet and run but to no avail.
The mystery figure starts laughing loudly and you start feeling this crushing pain in your chest that's somehow both physical and emotional. You wail and cry for mercy but no one shows sympathy.
God, you should have just stayed where you were. Why did you choose to come out?
Your eyes snap open and the first thing you do is turn on the lights. Looking around you realise that you are in your dorm and that it was just a dream.
However, that realisation doesn't soothe you. You find yourself still being in flight or fight mode and the crushing pain in your chest refuses to leave.
You get up and grab a glass of water. With a displeased scowl on your face, you replay the dream you just had.
You have never had a dream like this before. You may have dreamt of monsters and magical places but never have you felt the emotions so vividly. And for some reason, the dream was scarier than any dream you have ever had.
You go to the washroom and splash your face with water. Taking a few deep breaths, you place your hand on your chest and try to calm yourself down.
After five minutes or so, you feel a bit steady. You splash your face a few more times before looking into the mirror.
It's only a dream, you tell yourself.
There's no point in trying to look into it or in trying to find some deeper meaning behind it. It may take a few minutes more for the remnant emotions to fade but there's no point in getting so worked up over it.
You sit on your bed and scroll through Instagram, hoping that it will act as a distraction and once again, find yourself waiting for sleep to take over.
Tumblr media
The next day, you go to class looking like a zombie because sleep wasn't your friend last night. After that dream, it just simply refused to visit and as a result of which you were forced to stare at the ceiling like a fool.
You would have honestly preferred to miss the first few classes but then you refused to do so as you owe an apology to Brie. Talking to her and letting her know that you didn't mean to react that way comes way before getting an early morning nap.
With a practised speech (because you can't risk letting anything about the ring out) that you hope conveys your emotions, you walk into your class and look if Brie's here already. When you notice that she isn't, you find an empty seat and put your bag on the seat next to you, to save a seat for Brie.
You take out the storybook you started reading only a week ago and start reading it. However, after a few moments, you feel as if people are looking at you. You try to ignore it, thinking that it's just your mind playing games. But it soon becomes so uncomfortable that you are forced to look up from your book.
As it turns out, it wasn't just your mind playing games. People really are looking at you and are murmuring among themselves.
Before you can even come up with assumptions as to what this is about, someone taps on your shoulders, aggressively.
And of course, it's Brie.
"Explain this," she demands and shoves her phone at your face and looks at you, expecting an answer.
"Geez, calm down," you say with a light awkward chuckle.
"Sorry, can't," she clicks her tongue in annoyance and urges you to take a look at her phone.
You do so and look at the screen and you suddenly understand why people are looking at you weirdly. It's the same picture you and Jungkook clicked yesterday using his phone. The only difference is, it's now on Jungkook's instagram available for everyone to see.
"Shit," you whisper as your face pales.
You didn't for once consider the possibility that he will upload the picture on his Instagram.
There's nothing you can do now, you realise. It's already out and by the looks of it, is a topic of discussion among your peers.
Your eyes fall on the ring and a feeling of annoyance sparks within you. You thought this ring would make things easier for you. You just wanted one month of peace and happiness.
Why then, do you find yourself unable to feel those very emotions?

Lover | Kim Mingyu
How You Two Confess
Lover Series🖤🌼
Tumblr media
Pairing: Idol!Mingyu x Fashion Editor!Reader (ft. Unbiological Brother Joshua)
Genre: Romance, Angst, Humour, Series
Note: reader is female
________________________________________
The day had finished with your team's successful presentation of a renowned South Korean designer's masterpiece for an imminent fashion show. As you savored the satisfaction of your collective efforts, a message notification disrupted your thoughts. The sender, an unknown number, followed up with an introduction: 'This is Kim Mingyu'—the phrase that preceded the explanation that your number had been given to him by none other than Josh.
Unknown Number: Hi, I apologize for this unexpected outreach. I recently discovered that you've changed your number.
Unknown Number: I mean... it's reasonable to assume that you've changed your number since it's been quite a while.
Unknown Number: By the way, this is Kim Mingyu.
Unknown Number: Josh gave me your new number.
Taking a deep breath, you muttered an expletive aimed, curse, affectionately at your well-intentioned but sometimes reckless brother, Joshua. He had never did such nonchalance about sharing your number before; it had always been within your consent, especially your personal one.
Before you could address Joshua's actions, you stored Mingyu's number among your contacts. You almost typed 'Mingoos,' the playful nickname you used to exchange, but you hesitated. Realizing you weren't as close as before, you decided to save his contact without a nickname. Professionally speaking, he had become a colleague as he served as a global muse for your magazine this year.
You: Hi, Mingyu, what's|
You: Hi, Mingyu wh|
You: Hi, Mi|
You: Hi|
You: Good afternoon, Mingyu. May i help you?
You chastised your own formality under your breath. Perhaps sending the first sentence would have been less awkward? Your breath caught in your throat as yet another notification pinged on your phone. You couldn't help but roll your eyes upon seeing "Brosh" as the sender—Brother Josh.
Brosh: Hey, I gave your number to Mingyu. He mentioned not having your new number.
Brosh: Did you change it like...
Brosh: 4 years ago?
Brosh: Are you two fighting? Seriously
You disregarded your brother's group text and retreated to your office. As you seated yourself, you attempted to regain composure. It irked you that Joshua, despite not being related by blood, could read you like an open book. As someone striving to project an enigmatic persona, such blatant insight into your emotions wounded your pride. You were meant to be a mysterious figure, but then again, Hong Joshua's inherent sensitivity and intuition allowed him to grasp your feelings better than you acknowledged them.
You: Nevertheless, that doesn't give you the right to share my number without my consent.
Brosh: I know...I'm sorry
Brosh: I forgot you hate that kind of thing :(
Brosh: Push that aside. I hope you and Mingyu can rekindle your friendship. He's a good guy. I promise.
You: You're being absurd. There's nothing between me and Kim Mingyu.
A sudden phone call pierced through your thoughts. "What is it now?"
"I don't buy it. Tell me what's wrong between you two?" Joshua's voice blared through the phone, and irritation welled within you. You knew it wasn't solely him; his behavior was peculiar.
Silence engulfed you for a moment before realization struck. "Is Jeonghan oppa there?" you inquired, your brows furrowing.
"No way!" His defensive response confirmed your hunch that Jeonghan was on the line, fueling Joshua's queries.
"You're not fooling anyone, Josh," you grumbled, rubbing your temples. Subdued giggling on the other end only affirmed your suspicion—Jeonghan was indeed present.
"Y/n! I've missed you. Let's catch up!" Jeonghan's voice chimed in. A smile formed on your lips, though it waned as you recalled something.
"Last time you said that, you were actually just using me to fetch you a limited-edition bag from that brand," you commented, hoping to mentally prepare for a potential repeat of that scheme.
Jeonghan's laughter emanated through the line. "Not entirely untrue, but we can discuss that later. What's happening between you and Mingyu? I thought you two were on good terms?"
You rolled your eyes. "Where is this assumption coming from? Mingyu and I aren't avoiding each other. We're simply adjusting—adapting to each other's presence after such a long hiatus."
Jeonghan's tone softened. "Oh, okay. I had this feeling that you were distancing yourselves due to his confirmation of dating Ji Nara. I'm relieved it was a mere misinterpretation of me."
Joshua continued saying, "I felt the same. I was confused though. When I asked Mingyu if he was dating Ji Nara, he denied it, but then the company issued a statement confirming."
The conversation flowed, and the brothers divulged all they knew about Kim Mingyu's dating history—a topic you'd rather not indulge in. Mingyu was an adult in your eyes, and his dating life was none of your concern. The notion that his relationships caused your alleged distance was unnecessary. You intended to explain that work commitments and busy schedules had hindered your connection. This rationale was easier to accept than entertaining any assumptions about romantic involvement.
"Mingyu admitted he confirmed the dating rumor just to shut media attention. He was close to her, but they weren't dating," Jeonghan revealed.
You sighed, "Guys, I need to go. I'll catch up with you later," you announced before ending the call.
*
Me: I'm fine, just wanted to ensure we're still connected 👍
Me: By the way, I'm attending Mrs. Gee's show. I heard your company is hosting it.
Me: See you on Saturday!
Mingyu's lips tightened as he pressed the send button, having responded to your one message with three separate texts. Was it excessive? He pondered the question, then shrugged. In his dictionary, there was no such thing as too much. He could only hope for your response.
Suddenly, it all made sense—the message he had sent you years ago that never reached you. He had assumed you were too preoccupied to check your phone. But in reality, you had changed your number. His idea to ask your number turned out to be a stroke of genius, despite the in-depth interview he had endured with your older brother.
"How did you not know she changed her number? Weren't you in touch all these years?!" Mingyu demanded by Joshua upon texting him to ask for your new number. He hadn't anticipated a reprimand for such a seemingly innocent request.
"We lost touch over the years; it just happened," Mingyu reasoned, hoping Joshua would understand.
Mingyu could almost visualize Joshua shaking his head. "No way! I knew something was up when she wasn't reaching you up with her new number. Were you two quarreling?"
"No, hyung!" Mingyu pleaded, his palm meeting his forehead in exasperation.
"Could it be that you were in love with each other?" Joshua's sudden question took Mingyu by surprise.
Mingyu sighed deeply before responding, "Hyung, that's a bit much! Act your age," His voice carried a blend of fondness and chiding.
There was a pregnant silence before the older saying, "I'm sorry, I just got carried away. It's the first time I've had this kind of conversation. She's my first sister ever,"
A twinge of guilt tugged at Mingyu's heart, "No, hyung. I'm sorry, I overreacted. It's okay, I understand your excitement. But, I'm sorry. It's not what you were thinking. I can't fully explain the situation, but... it's complicated. I'm sorry."
"No, I went too far. I apologize, Mingyu. I was driven by my own feelings and I was being inconsiderate. I'll send you her new number immediately. I'm sorry."
Mingyu let out a contemplative hum, "Are we okay now?"
"Yup..."p
With a few more exchanged words, the phone call concluded. Mingyu promptly texted you and awaited your response. He couldn't help but wonder why it was so challenging to clarify the situation that you and he were having. After all, it was merely a case of lost contact amidst busy schedules and work commitments.
Yet, the inexplicable difficulty of explaining it gnawed at him. He pondered again, did you face a similar dilemma?
Me: Do you have time tonight? Want to grab a beer?
Mingyu exhibited patience as he waited for your reply. Finally, after half an hour, your response appeared.
Y/n: Sounds good
*
After wrapping up your final preparations for the upcoming team meeting, you ventured to the location Mingyu had shared hours ago. Upon your arrival, you found him already there, a photo of him grilling beef and drinking solo graced your phone. A smile touched your lips as you reminisced about his tendency to communicate through images rather than words.
You observed a young man clad in a casual brown shirt, white shorts, and a cap that shaded half his face. He sat in the corner, near the windows. In contrast, you were dressed in your work attire, minus your blazer, which remained in your car. As you stepping closer, you greeted him.
"Hey..." Your voice carried a note of warmth, and he turned his head to meet your gaze. A smile bloomed on his face, but you couldn't help but notice that he appeared rather drunk. Given that he was already on his third bottle of soju, it was a safe assumption.
"Let's take a break," you suggested, noting how swiftly he had drained his soju.
Ordering more meat and beer, you opted for something lighter as Mingyu seemed quite inebriated, making conversation challenging. Perhaps one bottle of beer would help you to still able manage the lively presence that sitting across from you.
Mingyu acknowledged your decision with a nod, "Yes," he affirmed, then quickly shook his head, "No!" His protest was followed by an attempt to secure another glass of soju.
"Easy there, buddy. We've got a long night ahead," you jested, intercepting his glass.
"I almost feel like I can't sober up," he mumbled, and you caught his words.
"Why's that?" You inquired, curious.
"After five years, I don't think I can face you while being sober," he confessed, his words a mixture of vulnerability and truth.
"Last time I tried, my heart..." Mingyu's sentence trailed off, his hand moving to his right chest.
"It was the othe side," you interjected, his hand slowly moved to his left chest. You scoffed.
"My heart felt like it was about to burst; it was racing so fast," he confessed.
You arched an eyebrow, a playful grin tugging at your lips, "And how about now?"
"It's still racing," he admitted candidly, his honesty unfiltered. "But oddly enough, I find comfort in that."
The moment felt ripe with a sense of understanding, as if unspoken feelings hung in the air. The connection you both shared was palpable, even in the midst of misunderstandings and lost contact. As the night stretched before you, the promise of conversation and camaraderie seemed to unravel with each passing minute.
Your order arrived just in the nick of time, offering a welcome distraction. Mingyu extended the courtesy of pouring your drink, yet you politely declined, choosing to pour it yourself. As you swirled the liquid in your glass, a reflective silence enveloped you, leaving unspoken words suspended in the air.
In a moment that felt almost cinematic, your gaze intersected with Mingyu's. Your hand moved in a circular motion, stirring the contents of your glass, as if your thoughts were equally stirred within. Your eyes remained locked on each other, neither willing to break the connection. But eventually, it was Mingyu who looked away first, breaking the intense gaze to pour himself some soju.
Then, as if the weight of the world was on your words, you said softly, "You're not alone."
Pausing briefly, you continued, "Mine's too."
In that instant, your words held a profound impact, causing a pause in the rhythm of the world around you, as if the universe itself had held its breath.
Mingyu's breath.

Foliè ~ Chapter 8
Doubt
I couldn't believe it, but the confidence I saw in him, the assertiveness that shone in his eyes, gave me hope that there was freedom after all. Could it really be that simple? Could I really believe these words? “Can I ask you something?” I said. “Go ahead.” “How are we going to find her?” The answer I got was silence. An embarrassing silence. A suspicion arose in me, a suspicion I didn't really want to have. “You have no idea how we can even look for her.” Mine wasn't a question, it was a fact, which his guilty smile confirmed. How could I have been so stupid as to believe him? “Listen, I'm the one who came up with the idea of organizing this in the first place, I can't do everything myself.” I felt the corner of my mouth twitch. He couldn't be serious. “Are you seriously trying to tell me that you just decided one day to kill the madness?” He gave a short laugh, like I was the crazy one.
“You are.”
Oh, the bitch is making jokes now, too? Fuck you.
“Of course not. I had a vision. A figure, it was standing in a wooden hut, calmly, smiling at me. I can still quote exactly what she said to me: 'Set me free'. And that's what I'm going to do, with your help.” His confidence was commendable, but doubts blinded me. This was an ordinary dream, why should I believe in a deeper meaning?
“I'm not going to go on an aimless search because of a dream you had,” I hissed at him. His gaze, always full of confidence, darkened slightly. He probably didn't like being questioned, but what was he asking me to do? Blind faith just because he thought he had dreamed madness? “Is there anything you don't tear to shreds with your negative mindset? Were you so lovable before the madness?” His words were pointed and they fed my rising irritation. “For your information, before the madness came, I was-” Emptiness. My mind was empty. No memories, no images, just suffocating emptiness. A shaky breath escaped my lips as my gaze turned to the floor. I couldn't remember what it was like before the madness. It almost felt like I didn't exist before the madness. I held my head and closed my eyes. It couldn't be, had this beast devoured my memory? How could it? Tears threatened to roll down my face as the realization came that she had taken everything from me. You took everything from me.
“I should sa-”
“Hey, hey, what's wrong? Headache?” The man tenderly grabbed my face and gazed into mine with eyes filled with worry. His cold thumbs caressed my now heated cheeks. “What's wrong?” I pulled my face from his grasp and rubbed my eyes, hoping to get rid of the tears. “I'm just tired.” I tried to explain in a monotone voice. I heard him clear his throat. “It's getting late, maybe it would be better to talk about everything tomorrow.” I nodded absently, but then my eyes popped open. My head tilted back. The sky was pitch black. Had so much time really passed? My head jerked towards the man, who lay down on the grass, groaning. His hands clasped behind his head, he stared up at the night sky. Hesitantly, I did the same.
“Are you going to go searching? Will you believe him? Are you going to 'free me'?”
Slowly, I turned to him. My breath hitched as I met his dark eyes, already looking at me. My body warmed in a way I couldn't decipher. My breath hitched when he smiled. “You…” The words caught in my throat.
“Come on, you can do this.”
Why was she encouraging me?
“I?” he asked. I collected myself again and asked my question, “Are you really sure it was her?” I heard the doubt flow out of my mouth. Without flinching, without taking his eyes off mine, he said, “Yes.” Just one word, he had only said one word, but I felt myself slowly beginning to believe his words. Nodding, I turned my gaze back to the sky. “Good, then we'll start the search tomorrow.”

"Down in the Dunkities" (RatMeat)
A/N: Second fic! I'm having trouble trying to write a prequel to Something Sweeter, so in the meantime, have this. Again, the characters may be out of character.
Also, quick note - please don't criticize me if my stories make no sense. My intention is to entertain, not to be logical.
Summary: Dexter's feeling down on life, and of course Bob won't have any of that.
Trigger warnings: Angst (maybe?)
Credit goes to @eunchancorner and their anonymous askers for the idea!
(fic below the cut)
Dexter had been staring at their hands for the last ten minutes, almost entranced by their own inner monologue. The aftereffect of their needs wasn’t nearly as intense as the actual anticipation itself, but it may have been worse - because now that they were in a relatively stable state of mind, they had all the time in the world to reflect on the horrible things they had done. God, they hated this feeling…
A low voice behind them snapped them out of their own thoughts. “Dex?”
Even if the person’s drawl wasn’t a dead giveaway, the pet name definitely was. With a heavy sigh, Dexter glanced over their shoulder to see Bob hovering over them. The large man was leaning on the couch, glancing down at his partner with clear concern. There was almost nothing that unsettled Dexter more than seeing Bob Velseb without a smile.
“Hey,” Dexter muttered, glancing away. The last thing they needed was to make Bob worry about them.
“Are ya havin’ those moods again?”
For a moment, Dexter considered lying. But that would be stupid - they were a terrible liar, and even if they were good at it, Bob seemed to have some kind of built-in lie detector. And even if they didn’t outright say what was wrong, Bob would fuss over them all day until they finally cracked from his kindness.
“Sort of,” they mumbled in defeat. There really was no point. They were damned if they did, damned if they didn’t. All they could really do was hope Bob wouldn’t be too up in arms about it, and not ask a lot of questions.
But of course, that was wishful thinking. “You look like ya haven’t slept. Is it that bad?”
Dexter sighed. They’d tried to explain the nature of their needs to Bob before, but the big guy never seemed to truly understand. But even so, he made up for it with his actions. Dexter used to say Bob had a big appetite and a bigger heart, and it really showed.
Next thing Dexter knew, Bob was seated next to them, with an arm around their waist. Bob wasn’t even that much bigger than Dexter, but he was definitely stronger by a long shot. Dexter soon found themself with their head on the larger man’s shoulder, and felt so tempted to fall asleep right there.
“There, there. You know I’m here for ya.”
While Dexter did feel better than they had before, they still felt awful. And clearly Bob could tell, too, because now he was pulling his flustered partner even closer. He shifted position, resting his chin on top of Dexter’s head. “Dex… you know this ain’t gonna fly. You know I’m gonna hafta’ do somethin’ about this.”
     “Like what?” they mumbled bitterly.
“C’mon… don’tcha remember what happens to grumpy lil’ beans like you?”
Dexter tried to think. What did Bob do if they were down in the dunkities? Usually he’d spoil them, make their favorite food and whatnot. But for particularly bad days, Bob had this very… different way of handling things…
     Wait.
     Oh no.
     He couldn’t possibly be thinking…?!
Dexter took a second to look upward, and catching a glimpse of Bob’s smirk confirmed their suspicions. “H-hey, listen… you don’t have to do this…”
     “Oh, but I kinda do.”
     “Y-you’re actually gonna-?!”
“Ya know the drill. Grumpy folks get the claws.”
Oh god. Not the claws. Anything but the claws!
Dexter didn’t even have a chance to retort before their larger partner viciously dug his claws into their ribs, eliciting a high pitched shriek. Then the shriek dissolved into giggles, often interrupted by loud snorting. One by one the claws unclenched, and each found their way to one particular spot on Dexter’s ribs.
“I know I’m doin’ this to cheer ya up,” Bob noted, “but I’d be lyin’ if I said I didn’t love that laugh of yours.”
Dexter buried their face into Bob’s sweater, not wanting him to see them blush from the flattery. But they knew it was probably too late - nothing escaped Bob Velseb, whether they were prey or details.
The claws were going to town, skittering and scribbling all over the flustered exterminator’s ribcage. It had only been a few minutes and they were already going insane. “NOOOO *snort* HAHAHAAH! NOHOT *snort* THE CLAWHAWHAWHAWS!!”
“Yes, the claws. Don’t tell me ya can’t handle the claws?~” He raised his other hand from Dexter’s back and playfully wiggled the digits over their head. “Well, the left claws are a bit lonely, so they got a new best friend - the right claws! And they’re just dyin’ to meetcha…”
Dexter dared to look up, and immediately hid again once they realized their mistake. One set of claws was bad enough, and only serious situations called for both pairs.
“…so make sure ya give them a warm welcome, hey?”
And both pairs of claws made contact with Dexter’s sides, wiggling and scribbling wherever they could reach - which was almost all of the poor exterminator’s torso, given how long the claws were. All Dexter could do was laugh and squeal their heart out, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Eventually Dexter slapped their hand against Bob’s sleeve, which was their designated sign for when it was time to stop. Bob immediately released them, relocating his hands to their back and allowing them to rest. Poor Dexter was practically breathless by this point, and very tired, but also quite euphoric. They’d never admit it aloud, but this was exactly what they’d needed.
“Ya feel better now?” they heard Bob say to them, very quietly and gently. They couldn’t respond verbally, but instead nodded, and Bob gently squeezed their back in return. “I could’ve wrecked ya for so much longer. Maybe some other time, when you’re feelin’ up to it.”
Dexter thought that sounded wonderful. They laid their head on Bob’s chest before starting to drift off, cradled by him and finally able to relax.
     “Thank you…”

👻 Is there a new genre you'd like to write?
💥Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're most excited to write? Share a snippet or tell us about it!
Also, hello! I hope that you are doing well! 💙
Hey Gin! I'm doing pretty good >w< I hope you're having fun with your sisters!
👻 Is there a new genre you'd like to write? Hmm, I've never really written anything super dark before, so I'd like to maybe dabble in some dark fic.
💥Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're most excited to write? Share a snippet or tell us about it! I'm actually really excited to work on this Steve/Win/Billy au that's been bouncing around in my head after I finish the next part of IDTYN.
Basically it's an au of my fic in which Win starts dating Steve after she and Billy break up, but once the events of season three begin to happen, she realizes that she still has feelings for Billy, and after saving him from the Mind Flayer she doesn't want to lose either guys, so they decide to share. :3
I have a small snippet under the cut!
“Hey!”  Steve’s face brightened when he opened the door to find Win standing there, a wide grin tugging at his mouth.
“Hey,” she echoed, trying to smile back, though it wobbled and didn’t exactly reach her eyes.
“I’ve got something crazy to tell you!” Steve exclaimed, pulling her into the house and up the stairs, not noticing her reluctance.
“I’ve got some news as well…” Win murmured hesitantly and Steve finally seemed to notice the uneasy look in her eyes.
“What is it?” he asked, pulling her down to the edge of the bed next to him, a frown marring his expression.
“Billy showed up at my house last night–”
“What?” Steve exclaimed, voice snapping as he interrupted her, his heart practically leaping into his throat.  “What did he want?” he demanded, unable to keep the venom from his voice.
Win placed a hand on Steve’s, hoping the gesture would calm him.  “He looked like he’d been in an accident, like he’d hit something with his car, but Steve, he was scared.  I’ve never seen him like that before,” she breathed.  Not even when Neil was on the warpath, she thought.
“Yeah, but, what did he want?” Steve asked, repeating himself, jealous worry twisting his gut.
“He said he wanted to apologize–”
“He wants you back,” Steve interrupted, shaking his head with an incredulous scoff and yanking his hand away.
“I–” Win hesitated, not wanting to confirm it, but not able to deny it either.
“Great,” Steve huffed, infusing the word with as much scorn as he could, feeling panic begin to bubble up his throat.  He didn’t think he could handle the thought of Win going back to him.  “What did you say?” he demanded, running a hand through his hair and Win reached for him, feeling more torn than ever. “I didn’t get a chance to say anything, he suddenly changed his mind and told me to stay away from him before leaving,” she explained, still confused at his sudden shift and Steve’s frown wavered.
“Okay, okay good,” he said, nodding.  “He must’ve come to his senses and thought better of it.  Hopefully he stays away from now on,” Steve murmured, trying to convince himself. Win chewed her lip nervously, wondering if she should tell him that she’d gone to the pool earlier to check on him, however Steve had already noticed the look on her face, knowing there was more.
“What?” he asked, his brows knitting.
“Look, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right,” Win said, wetting her lips, her eyes darting to Steve’s.  “He was so terrified about something last night, it kinda scared me.  So, I… I went to the pool today to see if he was okay.”
“Jesus, Win” Steve groaned, grimacing as he ran his hand down his face.
“I’m sorry,” Win sighed, shaking her head, “but something’s wrong.  He looked so sick,” she whispered, her stomach churning with worry, and Steve let out a heavy sigh, afraid of what her concern for Billy meant.
“I’m sure it’s nothing, maybe he caught a bug or something,” he assured her, hating the thought that nagged at him–the suspicion that Win still had feelings for that asshole.
“Either way, I think it’s probably best if you stay away from him.  Billy’s trouble.  You know that better than anyone,” he insisted.  “He’s probably just toying with you.”
“Maybe…” Win agreed reluctantly, resting her cheek against Steve’s shoulder and letting her eyes shut.  “I’m sorry, I just didn’t wanna keep this from you.  I thought you deserved to know,” she explained and Steve softened, wrapping an arm around her, rubbing her arm soothingly.
“Wait, what’s your news?” she asked, remembering what he’d said when she’d arrived and lifted her face to look at him.  For a moment, Steve blinked like a deer in headlights, as if trying to remember before his brows shot up and his mouth opened excitedly.
“Okay, so get this!  The other day, Henderson—you know Henderson, right?” he asked and Win nodded.
“Uh, yeah, curly hair, no front teeth.”
“Yeah, exactly,” Steve chuckled.  “So—kid’s a genius—he intercepted a Russian communique, and we translated it, well when I say we, I mean it was mostly Robin—“ he rambled before Win cut him off.
“What did it say?”
“That’s the thing, it doesn’t make any sense.  It was like, ‘the week is long’ and something about a silver cat?”  Steve scrunched up his nose, gesturing with his hands as he tried to remember.
“That’s weird,” Win murmured, but Steve kept going.
“Yeah, so we figure it’s gotta be a code or something.  But here’s the thing, I think it was coming from inside the mall.”
“What?  Russians in Hawkins?  That’s— I mean, that’s ridiculous, right?” Win exclaimed.  “How’d you figure that?” she asked.
“So, at the end of the recording there was this music playing in the background and I knew I’d heard it before.  And then I remembered, it’s from the Indiana Flyer ride.  You know, that horse ride for kids?” he explained excitedly.  “There’s one right at the entrance of the food court.”
“But, what would the Russians even be doing here?” Win asked, frowning.  The Hawkins’ Lab had closed down several months ago, so it couldn’t have anything to do with that.  The whole place was abandoned.
“I dunno,” Steve murmured, shaking his head.  “That’s what we’re trying to figure out.”
Win’s frown only deepened and she turned to her boyfriend, her stomach clenching uncomfortably.  “Steve, this is starting to sound kinda dangerous.  Like this is way above you or Henderson or Robin.  You have to tell someone about this.”
Steve let out a scoff, his brows knitting.  “Oh yeah, like anyone’ll believe us, and what would they even do?”
“I dunno, call the National Guard or something!”
Steve sighed.  “I guess, but how long would that even take?  The Russians could already be gone by then.  We need to decode the message first.”
Win wanted to shake him, but she knew he had a point, even if she hated it.  “And then you’ll tell Hopper?” she insisted.
“Yeah, sure,” Steve agreed, throwing his hands up, but Win’s expression didn’t change.
“I’m just… I’m worried about you.  This could be really serious shit, Steve.  It’s not a game.”
“Oh, so now you’re worried about me?” Steve  muttered bitterly under his breath, glancing away and Win flinched back.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” she asked quietly.
Steve sighed.  “Nothing.  It’s nothing,” he mumbled, hating how jealous he sounded.
“Steve…” Win murmured, gently turning his face toward her, her grey eyes swimming.
“I love you, okay?” she whispered fiercely, her gaze searching his, silently pleading for him to understand.  “If something bad happened to Nancy tomorrow, wouldn’t you still worry about her?  Even if you don’t feel the same way about her that you did before?” she asked, wetting her lips, waiting for him to answer and Steve grimaced.
“Yeah, I probably would,” he admitted reluctantly.  “I get your point.”
Win relaxed somewhat, her thumb caressing his cheek.  “Good.  Just because I got worried about Billy doesn’t mean that I don’t care about you.  If something happened to you, I don’t know what I’d do,” she exclaimed, her bottom lip wobbling dangerously.
Guilt gripped Steve and he pulled her into his arms, squeezing her tightly, tucking her head beneath his chin.
“Just promise me you’ll be careful?” she breathed, clutching his sweatshirt tightly.
“I promise,” Steve whispered, pulling back to look her in the eye, a soft smile on his lips as he took her face between his hands, placing several kisses across her cheeks.
“Steve—!” Win giggled, pinching his side, her mood lifting.
With a cheeky grin, he captured her lips with a searing kiss, rolling her back atop the bed and pulling her close.
“I missed you today,” he murmured against her lips, his hands pushing her shirt up, palms sliding over her warm skin.  “I still think you should get a job at the mall so I can see you more often,” he insisted, his tongue teasing hers, making her moan softly.
“Maybe I should,” Win agreed, pulling Steve’s sweatshirt over his head, wanting to feel his skin against hers.
“Yeah, then we could make out on our breaks,” he chuckled, tugging her shorts down and tossing them over the side of the bed.
“Sounds tempting,” Win purred, easing his grey sweats down his hips, her palm sliding over his hardening length.
Steve’s breathy moan in her ear sent a thrill through her and she pulled him closer, her hands sliding down his back to squeeze his ass, urging him to slide inside her.
“There are plenty of places to sneak off to,” he drawled suggestively, kissing her jaw as his hips began to move, slowly thrusting deeper as his mouth found hers once more.
“Didn’t know you were into that, Steve,” Win teased, rolling her hips to meet his, a sinful moan falling from her swollen lips as his cock dragged against her sweet spot, her arms wrapping around his shoulders to bury her fingers in his thick mane of chestnut hair.
“What can I say, you bring out something in me I didn’t know was there,” he chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest pressed to hers.
Their words soon fell away, filling the silence of his dark room instead with the soft sounds of their lovemaking until Win pressed her face to the crook of his neck to muffle her desperate cry as she fell apart beneath him, Steve emptying himself deep inside her with a content groan.
“Love you, Winnie,” he whispered, pressing his lips to her forehead as he caressed her flushed face, his dark eyes searching her face, a love struck expression on his as Win dragged her fingers lightly down his back before he rolled to the side, pulling her against his chest with a sigh.
“I love you too, Steve,” she breathed, listening to the beat of his heart as his breathing slowed, slipping quickly into comfortable slumber.
However, sleep seemed to elude Win, and the more she laid there, the more her thoughts began to churn, dredging up the events of the night before and her mind returned to a different set of arms that once held her like this.
She’d spent so long trying to keep her distance, knowing that if she let herself get too close to him that she’d crack.  For six months she carefully built a wall around her heart to keep Billy out, and in one night, he’d shattered those walls, leaving her reeling.
Clutching the pendant he’d slipped around her neck before leaving, she watched Steve’s chest slowly rise and fall as he slept next to her and she curled around him, pressing her face to his shoulder as she fought the hot tears that pricked her eyes.
It felt like she was being torn in two.

May 20, 2007
Gav watched Kazuo gently stroke Ian’s hair, the older man stretched out on the couch, napping. He had to smile whenever he saw the two interact - it was very clear that they loved one another deeply. Kazuo flopped into Gav’s lap, cuddling close, the redhead embracing him.
“Hey, love.” “Honey,” Kazuo kissed his cheek, leaning in. Gav stroked his face, fingers gently caressing the gnarled scar tissue that took up the right side of the black-haired man’s face, “I love watching you and Ian.” “I owe him everything. Him and my grandfather…if Ian hadn't hired him, my mom wouldn't have grown up around Ian…”
“What was your mom like? The photos…you look like her.” “She was…wonderful. She tried to protect me from my dad. She taught me to draw, paint, to be an artist. She went to UT - just like Ian - but for art, until my dad got her pregnant with me and she dropped out…” “So she knew Ian since she was a kid?” “A baby, pretty much a newborn. He was always there…she spent a lot of time at the firm, and he always had art supplies for her.”
Ian groaned softly, turning over on the couch, pulling his blanket up. Gav looked over, “He’s a soft touch. I thought at first he was a bit stern, but…” “He's a mushball. I took one look at him at the airport and knew. What I didn't know,” Kazuo looped his arm around Gav, “Was that mom had grown up around him. I know she must have told stories, but I was so young when she died that it didn't click. I knew that she knew him, but I didn't realize the extent…”
“Did he tell you, or did you figure it out?” “He told me. It was her birthday, I was upset…then later Maureen told me he had photo albums…then he dug out the videos, and it was like she was alive again. I’d forgotten so much about her, and Ian was able to fill in the gaps. I think he has some guilt…”
“About…?”
“About her. That he and grandpa Kensuke couldn't help. But,” Kazuo leaned on Gav, watching Ian sleep, “If I’d come to Austin as a kid, I couldn't be with him, and I think I'd be a lot unhappier. I needed someone like him as a partner. He keeps me centered.” Gav nuzzled Kazuo's cheek, “I got lucky getting into this family. Got you two, got a great kid…” He gently bit Kazuo's ear, “I can be myself.”
“When did you know?” Kazuo played with Gav’s hair. “Know what?” “Know you were gay.” “Oh!” Gav thought, “Well…it was hard because we didn't really have TV…except the bare minimum 3 basic channels and I wasn't allowed to touch it. They didn't get magazines, and books were…limited.”
“So, what triggered it?”
“It's…. embarrassing, but I guess it makes sense now?” “Tell meeeee.” Gav shook his head, “Mister Rogers. At like, age 9. Although I'm surprised we were allowed to watch him with his horrible, horrible messages of love and tolerance.” Kazuo started giggling, “Oh my god, so you saw Ian and it was instantaneous?” “Yeah,” Gav sighed good-naturedly, “Alright, what was Ian’s? I know that you know ” “As a young man, he loved watching the Man United players….a lot. Legs and asses.”
“Heh, nice. Now then - how ‘bout you?”
“Ooooooh, boy. I, uh…” Kazuo squeezed his shoulder, “I was a little faggy gay boy as far back as I can remember, wanting long hair like mom’s, letting her paint my nails…dad hated it. He hated me, though, so….I never came out to him for obvious reasons, but he had his suspicions. He never saw my shoulder tattoo - even though I did it myself. If he’d gotten it confirmed, I think he would have killed me.”
“He does know now though, right?” “Yeah, when Ian, Anders and I went to Chicago, we ran into him in the cemetery….he figured it out real quick and hit me. He was aiming for Anders since he'd mouthed off to him, but I took the hit. I think my peers sensed I was gay, but I was also the freak so I was always targeted.” “They were wrong. You're beautiful.”
“Oh, you're cute,” Kazuo kissed Gav, slipping his tongue into his mouth. Gav leaned into it, relishing it. “God, I love that. Hey, before you met Ian, had you ever seen another man naked?” Kazuo grimaced, “Unfortunately yes, and unfortunately my dad. Drunk man nude, reeking of beer and screaming at me. I'm bigger, which made it better. Kind of. You?”
Gav blushed, “You know, I ran across some naked bodies, but they were pretty far gone.” “So Ian and I were your first?” “Yup. I was a little scared…did you expect Ian to be so, um…” “Well-endowed? No, I wasn't. It was a nice surprise.” “I was shocked, and a little intimidated, but he was the scared one, since I'd walked in on him in a compromising position. He got over being scared, though,” Kazuo sighed, blushing, “Hell of a night. And morning.”
“You two treated me real nice,” Gav nibbled Kazuo’s neck, “I'm glad you guys were my first time. You know…” He paused, “I was also scared. Because I was still in a bit of shock that people loved me. I guess that's what being demonized your whole life does to you…”
“I hope your sister ends up in a loveless marriage with 17 kids.” Gav started giggling, clinging to Kazuo, “My being happy would piss them off so much.” “We’re deeply invested in your happiness.” ‘Im so glad you guys found me and took me in. If you hadn't…I don't know what would have happened.”
“That's a terrible thought. I don't like thinking about ‘what if’.” “I grew up in a bizarre, religious household, and I don't believe any of it now, but I think you and Ian are my guardian angels. You could have kept driving…god knows other people did.”
“Ian’s my guardian angel.”
Ian stirred, opening one eye, face towards the back of the couch, still in a sleepy fog. He pulled the blanket tighter, sighing softly. Kazuo looked over, “That man didn't have to take me in, he could have dropped me off at a motel and forgotten me after the funeral. But he worked through his fear and loved me. He saw…my mom, who he couldn't help, so he helped me. If I'd had to go back to Chicago, it would have killed me.”
“Neither of us could go home and survive. Does Ian go home?” “Not for a long time. Since the 70s, when his mom…when she died.” “Wow. It must be too hard to be there.” “From everything he told me, he had wonderful parents.” Ian blinked back tears. “If they were anything like him, then they were great people.”
“We need to do something nice for him. Look at him, having a well-deserved nap. He works so hard all the time, running the household and striving for justice…” “Hey, it's almost dinner, we should go get Mother's. And Quack’s.” Kazuo grinned, “Clever man. Let's let him sleep ‘til we get back,” he stood so Gav could get up.
“Anders will be home soon, right?” Kazuo glanced at the Garfield clock on the wall, “Yeah. I'll text him, let him know. C’mon, red.” Gav kissed his cheek, then leaned in to stroke Ian’s hair, “We’ll be back, baby.” Ian smiled, sighing softly. “Love ya, babe,” Kazuo leaned down to kiss his cheek.
The two left, and Ian sat up. He was lucky, but then so were Kazuo and Gav. He stood, stretching, going to set the table. He would do everything for his family that he could, give them everything they deserved. They loved him, so…
He would give them his all.

Well, this wasn't exactly the plan. Sure the plan may have been to infiltrate this very fancy auction but it wasn't your intention for a shootout to start. Quickly you turned to Anubis awaiting his instructions. "Now what?" He turned to you and motioned to the window behind the stolen artifact. "Grab the artifact and jump through that window". You sighed, quietly wondering how high the drop would be. "Well can you at least tell me if I can land on anything there?" Anubis walked to the window to see a pickup truck with tons of rugs in the back, when he returned to you he responded. That was the only confirmation you needed.
As you leaped forward you knocked one of the men down with a baton and the other with a random champagne glass. There were two more guards who were reloading their guns, if you made a run for it you could break the glass and jump to the truck. Just as you grabbed the artifact you noticed a man with curly dark hair and a black shirt watching as you broke the glass with your bo staff, threw a smoke bomb, and jumped. Once you landed you turned your head to see the man from before watching you from the broken window with the moon god himself Khonshu.
Marc Pov
He looked down from his spot as he watched the mysterious masked Avatar get away with what appeared to be a Jackal man. "That masked guy was an avatar right, Khonshu?" he asked him. Khonshu grumbled confirming his suspicions, muttering something about him being the god of death and being named Anubis. Since there was nothing he could do since Anubi's avatar was long gone.
°。°。°。°。°。°。
It was the next day and his hunt continued, after searching endlessly he spotted the masked person entering a building with a shadow that appeared to look like a dog not far behind. Apparently, this specific building they were breaking into was another auction but this one had the 'Sekhem scepter'. Khonshu, much to Marc's displeasure, commanded him to identify the avatar once and for all.
As Marc was about to enter Steven interjected through a window from a shop nearby. "Don't you think it's strange, I mean they seem to also be an avatar, and not just any avatar its Anubis himself!" Steven started to go on a mini info drop of the god and Marc zoned him out after a few minutes. "Hey, are you listening this is crucial!" Steven yelled. "Yeah, Anubis is the god of death so what, I can deal with it," Marc remarked. "Deal with it- Do we even know who the avatar is for all we know it could be this super powerful person with powers to summon the dead, with all these avengers and new heroes popping out we're bound to have an encounter with them" As Steven was about to add more they saw the masked person walking out with the scepter on their back and their staff on their right hand. Marc quickly rose up from his spot and shifted to Moonknight.
Once he caught up to the person they began to fight one on one, as he continued trying to throw blow after blow his moves kept on being blocked and dodged, some landing. Just as he was about to back off he was knocked down and pinned to the floor. He easily stood back up and tackled the person, ripping off their mask in the process. "Wait your just a kid?!" Marc Yelled. "Actually I'm 17, so not a kid," The now identified teen remarked. As the teen glared at him he suddenly raised his eyes.
"Dad? Nah I'm just playing with you my dad is out of the country with his secretary. You were interesting to talk to I'll give you that Moonknight but unfortunately I have a schedule I need to stick with," he used his legs to kick Marc off, put back on his mask, and jumped off the building. "Shit"
°。°。°。°。°。°。
It was a week since they last encountered them. As Marc went to feed Gus 3.0, he heard a loud crash and a lot of curse words being shouted. This quickly alarmed him so he grabbed his trusty knife and rushed to the scene. When he arrived he noticed a teenager around the age of 17 with a bleeding leg and arm. "The hell are you doing here?" He yelled at the teen. "I was being chased by these 2 guys and needed a place to hide, you don't mind do you" The teen said, shyly smiling. Marc sighed and went to the bathroom. "Stay there kid, and don't move a muscle".
When Marc returned he came back with a first aid kit and a vegan sandwich. "Here kid eat up while I patch you up, once you're done eating I want you to explain everything that happened" He instructed. The teen chuckled and nodded, and took a bite out of the sandwich.
Once he was patching him up he gingerly sat him on the couch and put on a random documentary. As Marc was about to prepare some tea he turned around and was slightly startled when he realized that same teen was no longer on the couch but instead leaning on the counter. "Holy shit- kid you scared me," "You know after feeding me and stuff I should probably now tell you my name and why I'm here" the teen ignored the fact that he clearly freaked Marc out.
"Well my name is (Y/n) and this is what happened, I was just reading my book on this tree right when all of a sudden these 2 guys came and started chucking rocks at me. I think they were guys in my class cause they looked familiar and I knew these 2 girls who I think were dating them cause they shouted to 'Leave their girls alone and that they belonged to them', and before I knew it I was being chased by them, that's when I climbed up some buildings, found your place, and broke in. Sorry about the window, I'll get that cleaned and replaced" Marc sighed at this explanation and gave the teen one of the cups. "It's fine, don't worry about that window. Do you think you'll be safe to head back?" "Probably not," The teen sadly chuckled. "Okay how about this, I walk you back since it's already getting late and tomorrow I teach you some self-defense?" Marc suggested.
"That sounds great! Thank you..." "Marc" he filled in. "Marc. Thank you Marc" the teen smiled for once. "Alright and I have a few rules before I agree to do this, one, don't come in through the window anymore, two, no scaring me like that, and three, come with a staff, you'll see why for that one tomorrow. For now, I'll walk you home"
As the two of them walked together Steven and Jake both teased the poor man whilst (Y/n) kicked a small pebble on their way back.

Can you do one where Nagito is hiding his s/o in his mouth from someone and he accidentally swallows them? (Preferably after the game)
Love your work!!! :D
hehehehehe >:), time for Mod Moon to work her magic....
"Hey Y/N? I could've sworn this bottle was almost full, did you drink some?" You heard Nagito ask, a slight worried tone laced his words. His voice seemed louder than normal, but you shrugged it off and assumed it was because you were just groggy, you had only woken up a few moments ago after all. Nagito had allowed you to spend the night at his place last night since you usually had trouble sleeping alone. And as usual he insisted that you take his bed and he'd sleep on the couch, even though there was plenty of room for the both of you in the bed. You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and mumbled back to him, lazily trying to find the top of the bedsheets to poke your head out of.
"Whaaat bottllle?" You asked, but instead of a reply you were met with silence. You heard footsteps approach the door before Nagito called out again,
"Y/N? Are you in here?" He called, turning the doorknob and stepping inside the bedroom. You grumbled in frustration, at both your inability to find the edge of the bedsheet and that your sleepy mumbling wasn't heard.
"Yeeeeeeessss I'm heree, whaat do you waaant?" You groaned loudly, obviously frustrated. A jumble of curses were mumbled at the blanket, with about 100 more popping into your head each second.
"Y/N...?" You heard Nagito say, clear confusion and worry present in his voice.
"uuuuhhhgg, whaaat do you waaan-" You were cut off by the feeling of sharp cold air attacking your bare skin and a blinding light as the covers were suddenly yanked off of you. Once your eyes adjusted to the light you could make out Nagito's face looming high above you...
Wait...
That wasn't right...
Something wasn't right...
A glance around you confirmed your suspicions. Something was definitely wrong. Everything was huge, or rather, you were really small. Your gaze snapped back up to Nagito as an odd, choked sound came from his throat. You saw his already fair complexion grow sickeningly pale.
"Ah-aha ha. Well I guess that answers my question..." He choked out, a nervous laugh escaping his lips along with his words. You were too stunned to speak. Frozen in fear, you could only watch with a crude mix of horror and despair as gigantic hands slowly lowered down to you. Nagito shakily cupped his hands around your tiny form, trying his best to stay calm. He took a few deep breaths before finally speaking again.
"That bottle was supposed to have a concotion that would have a similar effect to an energy drink, but take much less of a toll on my body. Hajime mixed it up for me. But this morning-" his breath hitched in his throat and he took another deep breath. "this morning I got a very frantic text from Hajime. He... he first asked me if I drank any of it, because he had supposedly given me the wrong bottle, and the one i recieved was quite dangerous to consume. I can see why now." You could see Nagito was trying desparately to hold back his anxieties. He was clearly stressed. You on the other hand had calmed down significantly, you weren't afraid of Nagito hurting you, in fact you knew he would do everything in his power to make sure you didn't get hurt. But you could tell he didn't think the same. You placed a gentle hand to one of his fingers
“Hey, don’t worry Nags, it’ll be fine I promise. Once this stuff wears off I’ll be back to normal.” You said, hoping that would reassure him. But of course Nagito’s anxiety had found a way around that one.
“But what if I hurt you? Your so small! You could fall, or someone could step on you or—“ you cut him off before he could continue,
“I’ll be fine, I have you! Plus it’s not like this can last forever.”
“Ok, but for now can we keep this a secret from Hajime? I don’t want him to worry, he has enough to do as it is. His talents are needed elsewhere.” Nagito suggested. You were glad to hear that he hadn’t made a single self-deprecating comment in that sentence, it looked like he was getting better about that. He eyed you, waiting for a reply, so you supplied one with a giggle,
“Yea sure, but it’d be easier to keep it a secret from everyone while we’re at it. I don’t like the thought of other people seeing me this venerable. I trust you, but I’m not sure about others…” you trailed off and you saw a brief sparkle in Nagito’s eyes at the idea of you trusting him with something like this.
“Of cour—“ for the second time today Nagito was cut off, this time by a knock on the door. No doubt that was Hajime. A distant voice was heard, confirming that it was indeed Hajime.
“Hey Nagito? Uh, you ok? Your door’s unlocked, so I’m coming in.” And with that the sound of the door opening shot Nagito into panic mode. You watched as he glanced around looking for somewhere to hide you. His eyes glazed over for a moment, before he looked down at you with a concerned gaze. He whispered a ‘sorry’ before you were flying upwards, his hands carrying you right up to his mouth.
You landed on his tongue, and his teeth snapped shut behind you. You were still reeling when Nagito turned his head to face Hajime who had just walked in.
“Oh, thank god you’re actually ok.” You heard the brunette say. Nagito kept silent for obvious reasons, but you felt him nodding hesitantly.
“Okaaaayy…. Uh where’s the stuff I gave you? I uh, I have the actual energy drink right here.” Hajime said, clearly confused by Nagito’s unusual silence. A few more bras of silence proceeded that one (most likely Nagito trying to point Hajime in the direction of the fridge), before Hajime spoke once more.
“Oh… in the kitchen?”
Nagito nodded again. You heard footsteps start walking away before Hajime turned on his heels and faced Nagito again. It was then that Nagito jolted a bit, and you began to slide slowly towards the back of his throat. You looked around in a panic for something, anything to grab on to as Hajime spoke his next words.
“I tried to ignore it but honestly it’s just unsettling. Your super quiet today. Are you SURE everything is ok? You definitely look a bit more pale… wait are you gonna throw up?!” You could tell from the brunette’s words that Nagito was panicking also, but his desperate tries to pull you back up into his mouth only caused you to slip farther down until eventually…
*gulp*
Nagito was breathing heavily, his eyes wide, and Hajime standing in the bedroom doorway, with a very scared, and concerned look on his face.
“Hah… hah… yea, I’m fine!” Nagito smiled, still panting. His small smile hid his true thoughts.
Holy shit, he just swallowed a person. He fucked up so bad.
“Ok, if you insist…” Hajime said hesitantly, before walking out and over to the kitchen. As soon as he was out of eyesight Nagito slapped a hand to his stomach. He breathed a sigh of relief when he felt you jolt inside. You were ok… maybe… hopefully this wouldn’t scar you for life or anything.
You heard Hajime say a brief goodbye before the door shut behind him, and immediately Nagito began panicking.
“Y/n I am so sorry, are you ok? Please forgive me, my worthlessness and stupidity truly are despairing…” he trailed off. You on the other hand became increasingly more concerned.
“Nagito, stop with the self-deprecating stuff I’m fine, I promise.” You told him, finding a comfortable spot to lay down in. It was warm, and there was a faint glow of green from the inside of his stomach. Upon closer inspection you could see that the walls around you were extremely malnourished, and you felt sorry for him.
“Are you sure? Do you want me to spit you out? You probably want me to spit you out that was a stupid question, who would want to be in a stomach, especially a disgusting one such as mine.” Nagito rambled, the self depreciation coming back in full force now, it was a bit concerning, but you could work on that later. You needed to calm him down and reassure him everything was ok first and foremost. You placed your hand against one of the walls of his stomach.
“I’m fine I promise. It’s actually really nice in here, can I stay here for a little while? Maybe I could get some more sleep in, if it’s on with you.” You admitted, making sure to ask for permission, it was Nagito’s stomach after all, he was in control over his body and what made him uncomfortable.
“Really? I never would have thought that anyone would want to stay in my disgu— in my stomach. I’m ok with it if it makes you happy.” You felt one of the walls cave in some as Nagito pressed a hand to his stomach from the outside. You smiled, happy to finally fall back asleep in the safety of Nagito’s tummy. You’d have to ask Hajime for more of that concoction later…
Hope you liked it anon!!! :D, i had some fun with this one!! Sorry it took so long tho!! I’ve been SUPER BUSY and I’m literally finishing this drabble up in bad before I go to sleep lol. I actually started it a while ago so I had a good chunk done already and it was really only. A matter of finishing it up!! :),
Have an amazing day/night/whatever, and happy reading!!!

Beautiful Strangers- Levi Ackerman X Reader
Note: i'm posting this on my second account just incase something gores wrong w my first post.
It was a quiet Saturday morning after a wild Friday night; Hange, Erwin and surprisingly Levi had all gone out in an act of spontaneity to Paradis’ number of club “The Wall”. And the trio was shattered the following day. Hange had their upper body sprawled on the kitchen island; pressing their head against the ice cold surface served as some comfort for their splitting headache. Erwin was shuffling around their apartment with sunglasses on- aimlessly trying to dim every source of light he could find. Levi laid on the beige sofa in the living room- he hadn’t drank much the night before and was relatively fine as a result.a
“So many damn lights.” Erwin grumbled and he shut the last blinds. “Can you stop yelling?” Hange complained. “I’m not yelling.” “Use your inside voice.” “I am. Has this room always been so bright?” “Erwin please… my ears are bleeding.” “I’m not yelling. Levi come help me cover the stupid skylight.” “Levi making he stop yelling.”
“WILL YOU BOTH SHUT IT!” Levi growled, irritated by the pairs rambling. The room was silent for a beat. “Someone’s in a bad mood.” Hange snorted. “Tch.” “What’s the matter?” Erwin asked, awkwardly plopping himself next to Levi on the couch. “Yeah Levi, tell us what’s gotcha down?” Hange insisted slowly slithering to the couch themselves.
“Nothing.” He huffed. Erwin let out an unconvinced noise, “Did u not enjoy yourself yesterday?” “… It’s not that.” “Do you feel sick?” “I’m fine.” “Then what’s the matter with you?!” Hange sighed in exasperation. “I said, Nothing!” “If he doesn’t want to tell us that’s his decision hange.“ Erwin hummed. “Phhfft, I don’t know what he’s acting like a baby for- he literally spent the night with that smoking hot babe in the blue dress. Lucky bastard.” Hange grumbled. Erwin immediately noticed how Levi’s face subtly reddened at the mention of the woman.
“Ah, so that’s what this is about?” Erwin said, a sly grin spreading across his face. Levi could only grumble a response only confirming his suspicions. Hange let out an excited gasp at the realisation “LEVI ACKERMAN WHAT DID YOU DO?!” They squealed.
“Noth-“ “Say nothing one more time and I’ll use you in my next experiment.” “Tch” “Well?” Levi let out a long sigh, may as well get it off my chest, he thought.
What had happened was, in amidst of all the yelling and the blasting music- Levi had sought refuge in the secluded bar section away from all the ruckus. He’d planned on patiently waiting till his friends were all “Partied out” before he could take the m home as the designated driver. However, when he felt a small tap on his arm his evening plans had drastically changed for the better.
He turned to see a beautiful woman standing before him. You wore a blue ranched bodycon dress with mesh sleeves a square neck line. A silver hoop chain was wrapped around your waist, your heels black with silver lining and your hair styled neatly into a slick back bun. Your makeup? Flawless; your foundation blended perfectly with your Smokey eye shadow that made your eyes pop. And to top it all off clear lip gloss. You. Were. Gorgeous. And everyone knew it.
“Hey babe!” you smiled sweetly. His initial first thought: Wow, but after another second- “Babe?” he said, almost perfectly in sync with a higher pitch he’d heard behind him. that’s when he noticed the slightly drunk man swaying behind him who was staring quite provocatively at you. “Yeah.” You said, “I went to get us drinks, sorry I took so long, hun.” You emphasised the last word and widened your eyes slightly- hoping he’d get the message and play along. Levi noticed the disappointed look on the man’s face and soon realised the situation. “Don’t worry about it love, I’m just glad your back.” He said, hoping he sounded convincing enough- Like anyone would believe she’s my girlfriend, he internally scoffed.
Your eyes seemed to light up seeing him go with it- you secretly felt guilty about disturbing the beautiful man, but this guy had been following you the whole night and it was starting to get out of hand… plus at least this gave you an excuse to talk to this beautiful man. “Who’s this?” Levi asked, now looking at the creep bothering you. “Huh, I actually don’t know.” You hummed, slithering your arms to interlock with his own so you seemed closer. “The name’s Zeke, doll.” The man leered, flashing a frankly unsettling smile, completely ignoring Levi’s existence. So that’s how it’s gonna be huh? Taking things a step further, Levi wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you in all the way. His body was so warm and firm against yours, you could feel the outline of his 6 pack under his dress shirt which had been partially unbuttoned. A fresh smell of clean clothes and cologne mixed with his own intoxicating musk filled your senses. He tilted his head down to reach your ear and spoke loud enough for Zeke to hear: “Is the dumb blonde bothering you, babe?”
Your face heated up at the action and you ducked your head down and nodded shyly in response. Levi let out a deep chuckle at your cute action which rumbled through out your body, his laugh made you want to melt in his arms. You’d almost forgotten all about the creep when he let out an offended gasp. You think he said something again but honestly it barely registered, all you were thinking about was how good it felt in his strong arms. It gave you a sense of security you couldn’t explain.
“I happen to be the son of THE Dr. Grisha Yeager, so this “Dumb blonde” is used to getting what he wants.” Zeke persisted, “You should be thankful I even approached you dollface, I could make you a very wealthy woman.” You scrunched your face in distain and readied a snarky come back when you felt a warm hand on your chin pull your attention away from Zeke in an instant. Now you were staring the beautiful man in his mesmerising grey eyes. Your breath hitched as he brought his face closer to yours. He wasn’t actually going to kiss you… was he?
“Seems he’s not getting the hint.” Levi hummed, his deep voice rumbled in your ears sending shivers down your spine. “Maybe we should give a clearer message…” your voice was barely above a whisper. Neither of you realised your faces had inched closer together- Levi’s eyes swept over your face- firm and admiring, almost overwhelmed before he’d fixated on your beautiful glossy slightly parted lips. Before he could even react however you leaned forwards to take his mouth in a sensual kiss.
His mind was blank, white-hot sparks shooting through every limb. You sighed bringing your arms around his shoulders as he held you closer. His tongue found yours exploring, dancing, demanding and you made an effort to match his pace until he made a soft sound deep in this throat that snapped some sense into you as you pulled away.
That was one hell of a kiss, Levi thought as he looked down to see you smiling up at him, something about the pure joy in your eyes made his face feel flushed as he managed to smile of his own.
“Dance with me.” he said. It was more a statement than a question but you nodded all the same since you didn’t trust yourself to speak. He took your hand in his own and thread your fingers through as if you’d known each other for much longer than a night. Levi lead you to the dance floor leaving an embarrassed Zeke in the dust.
Needless to say, you were very exited, you’d never expected to end up on the neon-changing dance floor with a man half as handsome as Levi. You could feel the adrenaline pumping into your veins, the music getting louder and your personal space becoming invaded by total strangers. Noticing this, Levi spun you around in an effort to pull you closer as you both manoeuvred your way through the crowd. “Stay close to me.” he murmured in your ear making your whole body heat up.
It didn’t take long before you had gotten the beat, you moved your whole body starting with your arms and then your waist. Not soon after, people had actually started giving you more space as your movements entranced them. Levi had his right hand in your left while his left was on your waist. You tuck your face into his neck and he leaned his head on yours while swaying the both of you to the beat. You smile into his neck making Levi’s face flush.
You wished you could stay like this the rest of the night when he finally spoke up “Well that was… interesting.” His deep voice was so soothing you could only hum in response, still enclosed in his arms. “I was worried he’d never leave.” Levi chuckled. At this point it had only just dawned on you that Zeke was nowhere to be seen… so why was he still holding you? Not that you were complaining.
I should probably let go, Levi thought, but I don’t want to… she feels so warm in my arms and she smells amazing, some sort of flower… rose? Lavender?- “Thank you.” You spoke into Levi’s chest stopping his thoughts with your sweet voice. “You’re welcome… Babe.” He chuckled, you groaned in embarrassment making him laugh more. “Sorry about that, but the “dumb blonde” just wasn’t getting the hint.” You sighed, “No no, I don’t mind- beat’s waiting for my friends to call it a night alone at the bar.” “Oh? Well allow me to buy you a drink as a thanks!” “sur-“
Levi was interrupted by a loud shrieking he’d recognised instantly. he was greeted by the unpleasant scene of Erwin holding Hange over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes who was violently kicking and screaming “LET ME GO I NEED TO FIND SAWNEY AND BEANE!” they drunkenly yelled. With all their flailing Levi could see Erwin losing his balance since he was pretty hammered himself- the two were causing quite the scene.
“Shit.” Levi cursed under his breath, “Damn… those two look like they need help.” You hummed. She’s right, Levi thought. “I’ve got to go.“ He grumbled before abruptly leaving you.
“Move it.” He growled yanking Hange off Erwin and herding them both towards the door. “S’hey Levi whos dagirl you was dancin wiv? Sh’was suuuupppperrrr pretty!” Hange slurred. “Tch” “Sh’looks like a Lina to me.” Erwin hummed also drunk. “Orrrrr Carla!” “Like Eren’s mother?” “She’s hot.” “Hmm Lina’s hotter.” “You mean Carla.” “S’no, her name’s Lina- right Levi?” “Would you both shut u-.” Levi paused, realising he hadn’t gotten your name.
Now he was doubly pissed, how could I be so stupid? I mean… it’s not like I had the chance to ask- BULLSHIT. I literally just up and left her without a word… it’s not like those two were dying I could’ve at least asked! He internally scolded himself.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN’T GET HER NAME!” Hange yelped in outrage, it was obvious they were terribly invested in the story. “Tch, well I have you two to blame for it.” “Phhfft, we were fine, you could’ve-“ “No, we’re lucky Levi came when he did or I would’ve dropped you.” Erwin admitted. “And now I’ll never know her name- I doubt I’ll ever see her again.” levi huffed in genuine frustration.
In fact, he’d been so distressed that he barely gotten any sleep. Regret had consumed his soul as his mind raced with all the things he could never do: he would never talk to you again, never tell you how beautiful you looked in that dress. All he could do was reminisce of what it felt like to have you in his arms, how warm you felt, how sweetly you smelt, how in that moment he never wanted to let you go. If he concentrated hard enough, it was like he could smell the faint flowery perfume you had… rose was it? or was it lavender? His mind was plagued with the memory of kissing you- god that was one hell of a kiss. He’d wished he had kissed you a thousand more times before the night’s abrupt ending. And in his mind he had. He’d felt the intoxicating sensation of your soft lips against his; but it was all in his imagination and that fact was killing him.
Oh and your voice, UGH, it’d been playing in his head the moment he left- the sweet melody of your laugh made his chest flutter… what if… he could never hear you again?
“We have to do something.” Hange muttered “We?” Levi scoffed “Yes we, think of it as an apology for ruining your night.” Erwin said. “You didn’t ruin anything… she was way out of my league anyways.” Levi whispered the last part though his friends still heard. “Nonsense!” “You’re a catch shorty! Carla would be lucky to have you!” “Carla?” “That’s what I’m calling your mystery girl till you find out her real name.” “I thought we agreed on Katie?” “Tch, let’s just focus on finding her real name.” “So you’ll let us help?” “Like me saying no would stop you two.” “He’s not wrong.”
“I say we go back to The Wall and ask around.” Erwin suggested. “YEAH! People are bound to remember the bombshell in the blue dress with the silver hoops!” Hange exclaimed, Levi subtly blushed at the reminder of what you wore, god she looked beautiful.
Soon the evening came and the trio found themselves back at the club, only this time with a purpose. “I’ll check the dance floor!” Hange exclaimed before taking off, seems they weren’t going to be much help after all. “Perhaps you should check the place where you last saw her while I ask the bartender.” Erwin said. Levi gave the man a small nod before heading off.
“This was a stupid idea Sasha, let’s just go ho-“ “NOPE!” Sasha interrupted you, “We’re here to find your quote: Beautiful stranger and we aren’t going home till find something.” “Yeah but I doubt he’d come here again, he looked so miserable when I first saw him sitting in the private booths alone.” You sighed, remembering how handsome he looked even with a scowl. “Well you never know- someone here might know something.” Mikasa said “I’m hope he is here. I wanna see the guy who’s got Y/n so down bad.” Ymir snorted making your face fill with heat.
Looking around to avoid eye contact with your friends you soon found a familiar pair of creepy blue eyes. “Shit.” Your grumbled as a look of recognition dawned on the man’s face- swiftly followed by a sickening smile. “What?” “It’s Zeke.”  “HERE?!” “Aw hell, he’s coming over!” “I gotta get outta here, distracting for me guys!” you said before bolting off to the private bar whilst Sasha, Mikasa and Ymir blocked his path to you.
Phhft, I come here hoping to find that beautiful stranger and instead stumble into that blond idiot! Tch, bffr Y/n- did u actually think you’d be able to see that man again? I’m starting to think it was all a dream; I mean HE was a dream. Just thinking about his icy grey GORGEOUS eyes and his adorable pout has me heating up! And here I was thinking the only hot men I knew were fictional-
Your thoughts were cut short when you felt a warm hand tap your shoulder. Your felt your chest tighten as your eyes fell on the man behind you. “It’s you!” You exclaimed, silently cursing yourself for sounding too excited- not that you could help it. His face seemed to relax seeing you recognise him. Thoughts of you running off with another man had tormented him ever since he left you last night.
“I’ve been looking for you.” The man said, his words hitting your very core. HE CAME BACK FOR ME?! you internally screamed. “I didn’t get your name.”
“Y/n.” you muttered, slowly gravitating your body closer to his, as if in a trance.
“Y/n” he repeated to himself with a small smile. I could hear him say my names a thousand more times you thought, staring deeply into the man’s bewitching grey orbs.
“Well Y/n, it’s nice to officially meet you. I’m Levi Ackerman.”
“Levi Ackerman.” You repeated, Levi felt his heart skip a beat hearing you say his name. So perfect, he thought.
“Would you like to dance?”

Haikyu Boys when they neglect you for another girl PT 2(Oikawa)

Oikawa:
You Oikawa and Iwaizumi have been best friends for as long as you can remember
You thought that Iwaizumi liked you, but all thoughts of that left your head once Oikawa confessed to you when you were in your last year of middle school.
You and Oikawa started dating you in highschool in your first year and have been inseperable ever since.
You and Oikawa were as opposite as you were the same making you a perfect match.
It was the first day of your final term of your third year. You and Oikawa were planning to go the same university but to do that you obviously need to pass your entrance exams so you fully immersed in your studies.
You have been the manager of Seijoh since your first year, but because of how time consuming it is and you now fully want to focus on your studies you decided to step down from your title. However, you still were fully supportive of the team making sure to go to every one of their games and even coming to majority of their practices with your textbooks and notes with you.
It seems someone took your place as the manager, yet you don’t know who as have been so busy all you could do in finding your replacement was stick up some posters telling whoever wanted the job to talk to the coaches. But you hope the new manager is at least half as good as you.
You decide after school, you were going to take a break from studying so you went to go to the gym to see your boyfriend and the guys at practice. When you enter, you see all the boys fussing and fanning over someone who you couldn’t tell who it was.
You spot Iwaizumi away from the crowd tying his laces, when you approach him he looks up and smiles fondly at you, “Hey Y/N” he says schooching over so you can sit next to him.
“Hey Haji” you say ruffling his hair playfully “Who’s the celebrity?”
“Oh Ririka-san” he responds “The new manager” when he says this he slightly scowls, but you don’t quite catch it as your focus is on your boyfriend who is being his usual boastful self infront of who you presume is ‘Ririka-san.’
As the group disperses, they all approach you with Oikawa lifting you up and spinning you obnoxiously making you laugh at his action. “Well hello to you to Tooru” you say kissing him on the cheek.
You look in front of you and there was Ririka with her hand extended out for you to shake “Hi I'm Yagami Ririka” she says “But you can call me Ririka, you’re Y/N right?”
You shake her hand quickly dropping it responding with a dry “hi.” Oikawa notices the awkward atmosphere that you created with your response and decides to drag you away to show you his serves. You weren’t fully focused on your boyfriend, with your eyes occasionally drifting to the new girl who seemed to give you a bad vibe from your first introduction.
Practice ends, and Oikawa walks you home (per usual.) Once you are at home, you decide to social stalk Ririka to see if you can find something to confirm your suspicions on her. You’re claims weren’t based on anything besides a vibe but since she is apparently in your year and always has been you find it weird that you haven’t heard a word about her all until now. You don’t find anything on her, besides her being as ‘perfect’ as she seems.
As you and Oikawa walk home together again from the next day’s practice, you were hoping that he shared your same concerns about Seijohs manager but when you ask “Kawa.. Don't you think Ririka-san is a bit odd?”
He looks at you curiously, smiles and says “No of course not, Rii-chan is fine”
‘Rii-chan’ you think, a slight pang of jealousy surges through you at the use of this newfound nickname
“In some ways she reminds me of you, you know?” he says chuckling, but you weren’t listening focused on the name he just called her.
“Rii-chan, huh?” you say
“It’s just a nickname Y/N, I give them to everone, you know that Y/N” he says
“Yeah yeah I know Kawa, I was just overthinking that’s all” you lie, you knew Oikawa gave everyone a nickname but this one definitely stuck on your mind then all of others and although you can admit your jealousy but there was something else bothering you.
“Well don’t overthink too much” Oikawa says giving you a kiss on the forehead “Don’t want to heart your pretty head about it.” Oikawa then lets you enter your house before taking off to his own.
Over the next few weeks, you are mainly focused on your studies, barely having any time to be with your boyfriend at all. However, if you did even have the time to spend with Oikawa, he was definitely not available since all his time was now with ‘Rii-chan,’ whenever you asked him to hang out with you or to go on dates he always used the excuse of ‘Rii-chan needs help with the schedule and since IM THE CAPTAIN I have to help’ or ‘Rii-chan has no friends in our year, and since it seems that YOU don’t want to befriend her im doing the nice thing by becoming her friend’ and with that you always wanted to reply with ‘maybe no one wants to be her friend because she’s such a bitch’ but you held your tounge.
Today you were fed up with your boyfriends lack of being around and decided to go to his house in the hopes that you can watch a movie or do something together. When you get there, you knock on his door and you hear him shout “Come up it’s open,” was he expecting you or something?
You go upstairs to his bedroom, where you know he’ll be and to your surprise when you open the door in his room it is basically set up like a movie date with food and snacks and a bunch of dvd’s and blankets set up on the floor. ‘Was he planning on you to be here?’ you think.
“Rii-chan you made I-” says Oikawa, stopping hisself when he sees that it’s not his beloved Rii-chan but only you his girlfriend Y/N.
“What the fuck Oikawa?” you ask
“It is NOT what it looks like Y/N” he says standing up abruptly to approach you but you step back.
“Umm.. So it’s not my boyfriend of 3 years about to have a movie date with his manager after barely speaking to me, his GIRLFRIEND, for the past month?” you say folding you arms “ Did I get that right or am I missing something here?”
“Yes.. I mean No” he stammers “ It’s not a date at all, it’s just that Rii-chan say’s she never watched *insert your favourite movie here* and I thought it would be nice if I show it too her”
“Whatever you say ‘kawa” you say rolling your eyes, this seem to annoy Oikawa as he then sits back down harshly and says,
“God Y/N, ever since you met Rii-chan you’ve been so hostile for once can you not be a bitch! Me and her are just friends.” His aggressive tone shocks both you and him but he doesn’t seem to stop “All I'm saying is, you always wonder why me and Iwa-chan were your friends, haven’t you thought it was because you’re such a judgemental bitch”
By now you were fed up, so you turn your back to Oikawa ready to leave the room but first you say “ Oikawa, I love you I always have, but I can’t be with you anymore especially since you can’t even see what’s going on. Remember when we used to have movie dates when we were ‘just friends” Your response leaves Oikawa with his eyes wide open since he didn’t expect you to basically break up with him, he thought this was a minor argument. Before he can speak, the door burst open and in comes Ririka who exclaims “Tooru! Im ready to watch M-….oh”
“I guess I’d be taking my leave now” you say with tears in your eyes “Goodbye Oikawa this was fun”
It’s been a while since the confrontation at Oikawa’s house and the school was a buzz since after hearing the news of yours and Oikawas break up the school immediately focused their attention on both Ririka and Oikawa the rumours of them being together spread like wildfire. However, to your surprise Oikawa apparently always combated the rumours claiming that him and Ririka were just ‘good friends and will stay that way.’
But you could care less, you still supported the team going to all the games they had making sure to stay clear away Oikawa and Ririka. You don’t go to the practices anymore since you didn’t want to submerge yourself in sweat and bad vibes anymore.
Graduation came and you were very happy, you could finally get out of this place. Once you get through the ceremony and all the boring stuff you go to the gym for one final ‘goodbye’ but before you have a chance to leave you are stopped by Iwaizumi
“Hey Y/N” he says “how have you been?”
“I’ve been good, pretty ‘busy’” you respond
“Busy as in, avoiding Oikawa at every cost” he says making you laugh “Come sit down with me for a second” to which you do sitting next to him on the gym bench.
You and Iwaizumi then spend the next hour reminiscing about all your past antics and stories making you laugh and smile fondly at all the nostalgia. After all your talk you pull out your phone to take a picture and you hear Iwaizumi whisper “He never deserved you” so quietly that you almost don’t catch what he says.
Before you could respond in comes Oikawa of course panting “Y/N! Thank god you’re still hear I need to talk to you!”
You look at Iwaizumi expecting him to say something but all his does is pull you into a tight hug and says “Goodbye Y/N I’ll miss you” he gets up and exits the room shouting “Make sure to answer my calls” making you chuckle.
Oikawa approaches you and sits in the spot that Iwaizumi does, he takes a deep breath and begins to stay “Y/N, you were right I was wrong. I am an idiot... Rii- I mean Ririka she tried to kiss me. Im sorry”
“Oikawa, you are right.. You're an idiot, but it shouldn’t of had to take me breaking up with you and Ririka trying to get with you to realise that I was right. Why did you even come here to tell me this, so I knew I was right? You didn’t need to confirm my suspicions I knew all along Oikawa”
You stand up to leave, hoping to find Iwaizumi before he goes home but Oikawa stops you. “Y/N I-I want to be with you, to go back to being how we were … don’t you want that”
“Oikawa...” you grab his hands “I love you, I always have and I always will... but I think we both know we aren’t meant to be.. Things haven’t been the best with us even before Ririka came along, it just took her to make us really notice it.”
“It’s him isnt it?” he says with tears in his eyes
“I think so... maybe it’s always been him I don’t know but we know how he is especially when we were 15 I guess you just got me to me first,” you say with tears in your eyes also
Oikawa pulls you into a hug and whispers in your ear “Go get him Y/N” you look at him and smile and nod you head “We will still be friends Tooru.”
You race out of the gym to look for Iwaizumi and you suddenly bump into him since he didn’t actually move he was there the whole time and it seems your indirect confession made him tear up too. “I love you Y/N” he pulls you into a hug which you return then pulls you into a deep kiss.
In the end, you and Iwaizumi do become boyfriend and gifriend still keeping Tooru as your good friend. You all also end up going to the same University and you and Iwaizumi live the rests of your lifes together as the ‘perfect’ couple with yours and Toorus relationship as a laughable memory.

All Shook Up
Summary: While out running errands y/n realizes she's being followed and calls Austin to come and get her.
Warning: None really except the being stalked part. This is my first one-shot so if I have missed anything, please let me know.
y/n heart pounded as you peered over your shoulder to confirm your suspicions. Your breath catching in your throat as you realize that you were not wrong, someone was definitely following you, and had been for the past six blocks speeding up when you did, and never taking his eyes off of you except when you looked in his direction.
Taking a deep breath to compose yourself, you continued walking briskly along the busy street thanking God you were out in public. It was such a beautiful day that you had decided to park further away from the town square where you would do your shopping so that you could enjoy a leisurely walk. You had left Austin at home working on getting some much-needed rest and relaxation after the buzz of his latest movie Elvis had premiered a few days before.
Searching frantically through your purse for your phone y/n prayed that Austin had left his phone on in case you called. He was good like that, always the protective boyfriend. Finally, having found your phone you speed-dialed his number sighing with relief when you heard his voice after the first ring. His voice was gravelly and sleep heavy when he spoke which would normally have you smiling from the butterflies it caused, but you were too frightened to care. Clearing his throat Austin greeted you warmly, with only a glimmer of wariness in his voice. "Hey sweet girl, everything okay.?" You were breathing heavily now, "No, baby I think someone's following me. I've been walking now for a little more than six blocks, and they haven't left. I crossed the street a minute ago and they did the same. Austin, I'm scared, I don't know what to do." You heard rustling of sheets as Austin jumped out of bed. "Okay honey, just breath, you're okay. Where are you now, I'm coming to get you." You bit back a sob as you tried to figure out where you were.
Scanning the street, you spotted a favorite coffee spot of yours that you and Austin frequented. "I just passed the Green Bean Cafe, should I meet you there? What if he follows me inside.?" Austins keys jingled in his hand as you heard him close the front door to your house. "Yes baby, go inside and go straight to the counter and tell them what's going on. If he follows you inside, they'll call police. I'll be there in five minutes, I'm in the car now." y/n sniffled as the seriousness of the situation began to sink in. Saying goodbye to Austin you put your phone away and jogged across the street to the cafe. As you walked into the cafe you could hear the strangers' footsteps not far behind you. You thanked your lucky stars that the cafe was not busy and there was no line.
Walking straight up to the counter you flagged down the nearest barrister whose tag read 'Rick, manager' in bold letters. "Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm being followed, and I think I'm in danger." The barrister looked to be about his middle thirties, he had kind eyes and as he saw the cafe door open behind you, his expression went from relaxed to serious in a flash. He was about to respond when you felt a hand on your elbow pulling you towards the stranger. "Hey, sweetie, I've been trying to get your attention for about four blocks now." He was tall with dark hair and brown eyes that were menacing and anything but kind. You immediately yanked your arm away from him. "Get away from me, I don't know you." you raised your voice. By now the manager was standing between you and your assailant causing the stranger to drop your arm and step back. "You heard the young lady, she doesn't know you, so I think you need to leave. I've already pressed our security alarm."
The stranger sneered as he backed up towards the entrance, raising his hands in the air in mock defeat. "No, no. it's all good bro, just wanted to talk to her is all." y/n shivered as the manager turned to you as if to silently ask you what you wanted him to do. "I don't want to talk to him. I've never met him before." Turning back to the stranger the manager took a step forward. "Your done buddy!" the strange man bit his bottom lip eyeing you as he dropped his hands to his side as he backed out the door of the cafe.
Turning to you Rick noticed that you were shaking and on the verge of tears, placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "I'm so sorry Miss, ... ah?" "Y/n, my name is y/n." Thank you so much for your help." "no problem at all Y/n, the police are on their way, is there anyone else I can call for you?" Just then Y/n heard the cafe door open. Peering up you began to sob as your eyes locked with Austins. "No thank you. My boyfriend's just arrived." Taking two big strides Austin wrapped his arms around you as you crumpled into him. "hey, hey. It's okay baby your safe." Holding you close his chest he brushed your hair away from your face as you nuzzled into the crook of his neck as he kissed your temple. Noticing Rick standing by Austin let go of you for a moment to shake his hand. "Sir, thank you so much." Rick smiled warmly as he took Austin's hand. "No, it's no problem, I'm glad I could help. Hey, you guys are regulars here aren't you?" Austin nodded smiling warmly as he held you at his side. "It's one of our favorites. Great coffee!" Rick's eyes lit up proudly. "Oh, that's wonderful, well your welcome anytime. Listen, I called the police, I hope that's okay. They'll want a statement before you leave. Austin nodded, his eyes turning serious as he peered down at you. "No problem, I'd hate to think there are others out there that this guy is harassing. Squeezing you gently he kissed the top of your head. Rick looked around and gestured to a booth in the back corner of the cafe that was surrounded by shelves adorned with books. "Hey, listen, why don't you two grab that booth there while you wait for the police to arrive, and I'll grab you some hot drinks. Maybe caffeine free for y/n, something soothing." You smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Rick that would be nice." The manager shrugged of the gratitude. "Just doing my job, please, it's on the house. Austin shook Ricks hand again before leading you to the back booth.
When you were both settled, Austin pulled you in knowing you needed his presents more than ever right now. He could feel you shaking against him and worried that you might be in a bit of shook. "Hey sweetheart, you doin okay. I'll get you home as soon as we've spoken to the police okay. " He brushed a protective hand up and down your arm doing his best to keep you calm. Y/m sighed emotionally nodding in response as you reached up to lay a hand on his chest to play with the chain that hung around his neck. He knew you well enough to know that this was a grounding method for you, playing this his chain, the collar of his shirt or the rings on his fingers, especially the big Elvis ones he'd been wearing of late.
It didn't take long for the police to arrive as well as an EMT just in case you were experiencing any delayed reactions of shock. Once they were done taking your statement, y/n and Austin thanked the police and EMT as well as Rick the cafe manager with a promise to come back y/n and Austin got in the car and drove home.
Later that evening after spending the rest of the day curled up on the couch watching your favorite show with Austin you decided to take a shower in hopes to wash away the remainder of the day's trauma. Even though the threat was gone, you stilled couldn't shake the feeling away. Letting yourself stand under the flow of the warm water you took a deep breath letting it sooth you as you lathered yourself in your favorite shower gel. Y/n glanced up when you heard the bathroom door open slightly, nodding to Austin for him to come in you rinsed off the last of the soap and turned off the shower. Austin reached for a towel and held his arms open for you. You smiled as you stepped towards him as he wrapped the towel around you and dabbed your hair dry before leading you back into the bedroom.
The both of you moved around the room in comfortable silence as you dressed for bed. Austin knew you well enough to know that you would talk when you were ready or in this case when it all became to much for you to hold onto to and when you were faced with his beautiful adoring face your eyes filled with tears as you crept into bed and curled up into his outstretched arms. "Ssh, baby it's okay. C'mere sweet girl I know your scared, but it's okay now. No one's going to hurt you baby, okay? I've got you. Y/n snuggled into Austin as her sobs began to subside. "I hate that I felt so vulnerable. I hate that there are people out there who do that kind of thing. I almost prefer paparazzi." Y/n felt the sound of Austin's chuckle against your ear. "You know what baby, I think I'd almost agree with you if I didn't despise them so much, at least you would have been safe.
Y/n sniffled wiping a stray tear from your cheek, a faint smile appearing on your face as you peered up at him. "That's a sentence I never thought I'd hear you say." Austin chuckled as he softly placing a kiss to your lips. "I'm okay, just a little shook up is all. Y/n whispered, a faint teasing in your voice as you mocked Austin's Elvis voice. Austin raised an eyebrow as he smiled deviously, "Oh I'll show you a little shook-up little lady c'mere." y/n laughed out loud as he attacked you with kisses and tickled your sides. Becoming serious for a minute Austin brushed a thumb over your cheek bone. "I'll always, protect you, whenever possible, you know that don't you baby." Y/n smiled up at him drawing him toward you to place a passionate kiss to his lips. "Yeah, I know."
This was a first for me so I hope you liked it. I don't normally write but I was inspired so had to give it a go. Hope you enjoy.

Week 4
"I'm pregnant," you spat.
He widened his eyes as he stared at you coldly, "Okay," he nodded slowly.
"And I'm gonna have it,"
His breath hitched, "No, you're not," he quickly thought out loud, "No, sorry that's not for me to decide I just- I mean, are you sure?"
You sighed, you were prepared for this question, you pulled four pregnancy tests out of your bag, "Oh yeah, I'm sure," you placed them back as you walked towards him, "Look, I know you're panicking right now, but you can be as involved as you want, whether you wanna be a part of its life-"
"You seriously think I'm not gonna be there?"
You raised your shoulders.
"Oh, I'll be there, trust me,"
You grinned at his words.
"What do your parents think?"
"Oh, my dads? Don't worry, they were the first to notice,"
"How so?"
"Well, during my supposedly period-days our icecream bucket was full so, they kinda figured something was wrong,"
"Have you told them you're gonna have it?"
"Actually, I was hoping we could tell them together..." you trailed off hesitantly.
"Ok," he huffed, "But I think we should tell the pogues first, you know, for practice,"
You nodded offering your hand, he took it as you began to walk into the chateau.
Right after you opened your mouth you both quickly realized a few things:
a) The pogues were expecting different news, you could tell by the way they all cheered, and right after they processed your words, they were shocked, confused, and concerned
b) To be clear, they were expecting for you two to be together
c) You always had a feeling Pope was the dad of the group, and your suspicions were aggressively confirmed as he ambushed you both with facts about pregnancy and really unusual questions
d) Talking to them was ten times harder than telling your dads, their first reaction was of course surprise, but they remained calm and supportive nonetheless
You and JJ were now sitting on the beach chairs of your pool, contemplating the view, thinking about everything and nothing.
"What do you think it is?" he broke the silence while playing with your hair.
"I don't know, it's too early to guess don't you think?" you looked up at him.
"Yeah, but like, you know how in movies the moms always have this sixth sense and they're always like 'Oh, I have a feeling it's gonna be a boy and we're gonna name him James'," he did a high-pitched voice.
You chuckled, "Well, I don't think I have that sixth sense because I have no fucking clue,"
"Hey," he slightly slapped your forehead, "Don't cuss in front of the baby,"
"Hey," you slapped him back, "Don't hit the mother of your child," you imitated him.
Week 6
"Can we replay it?" JJ sobbed.
"J, we've heard the recording of their heartbeat like a hundred times,"
"Look, if I can tolerate you throwing up this morning like a hundred times, then we can watch it again," he sniffled.
You rolled your eyes. When the video finished he began to cry again.
"C'mere," you stretched your arms, he walked to you, and instead of hugging you, he decided to rest his head on your lap.
"Aren't you worried?" he whispered after he calmed down.
"About what?"
"Me?"
"JJ why would I be worried about you?"
"What if-" he bit his lip, "What if I'm just like my dad?" he mumbled so low you almost didn't hear him.
"J, of course, you're not gonna be like him,"
"You don't know that,"
"Yes I do, but if it makes you feel safer, how does therapy sound?"
"It sounds great," he smiled.
You sniffed, "Are you wearing cologne?"
"No, I threw them all this morning,"
"Well, apparently not all of them," you ran to the bathroom.
Week 8
"We're really glad to have you here J,"
"Thanks for receiving me Mr. Ruiz and Mr. Paredes,"
The therapist's advice was clear, JJ had to leave his household as soon as possible, your dads didn't think about it twice before they were already setting up a room for him. The adoption paperwork wasn't a problem, JJ was about to turn eighteen in a few months so he just had to stay out of trouble until then.
When he entered his new room you were there with the biggest smile he's ever seen on you, "Welcome home!" you squeaked happily, he ran to carry you off the floor and spinning you around.
"JJ, I'm gonna be sick, stop!"
"Oh, right, right," he placed you down still not letting you go.
You began to sob and whine uncontrollably in less than a minute.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" Your dads entered the room as soon as they heard you.
"Not- Nothing I- I'm just re- really ha- happy t- to have y-you all here,"
Due to their confused faces, JJ murmured 'mood swings' under his breath, that boy had done his research, well, he hates reading so he told Pope to read it and later on he taught him everything, hell, he even almost finished a notebook, a whole notebook, school who?
They both nodded and joined the hug.
Week 10
"Oh shit! Look who it is, mom and dad!" Kiara and Pope cheered as you walked to them.
"Hi," you waved at them.
"I can't believe you made me come to Midsummer's," JJ complained.
Kiara flicked his arm, "Shut up and just be grateful they're including you," she scolded him, "Look at you!" she spun you around, "You're glowing!"
"Thanks," you blushed.
"Aren't you gonna tell her she looks beautiful?" Kiara looked at JJ.
"Oh, he already did in the car, and when I was changing, and when I was doing my hair, and before I showered, and when I woke up, and the night before, and the night before that,"
"As he should,"
"What week is this?" Pope asked.
"10th," you and JJ said in unison.
"Pregnancy glow," Pope whispered.
"Come on, we should dance," you grabbed his hand, "See you guys!"
"Bye!" they screamed as you left them behind.
You and JJ walked to the dance floor, he placed his arm behind your waist while interlacing your fingers with his on the other side. And during the whole time, you coordinated your bodies to the music you were talking, giggling, and even just joining your foreheads from time to time.
"J?" you whispered.
He hummed in response.
"Can I tell you something?"
He nodded.
"I'm glad I'm pregnant with your baby, I wouldn't've wanted it any other way,"
"Your plan is to kill me isn't it?"
You laughed.
"You wanna see me cry in front of all these people?"
"Maybe?"
"Ah shit," he felt his face wet.
"Don't cry because if you cry then I cry," your eyes began to water.
And now you looked like crazy people just randomly crying in the middle of the party.
Week 12
"No, I'm not going to the beach," you shook your head.
"You don't have to swim,"
"I know, but I don't wanna go,"
"Why not?" he whined.
"If you wanna go so badly then go, we don't have to be together all the time you know,"
"I'm not leaving your side and you know it," he harshly stated.
"Then don't go,"
"Pleeeeeease," he begged, "Why don't you wanna go?"
"Because," you thought, "I- I don't want people judging me,"
He looked at you with a straight face, "Didn't you yell at someone yesterday to stop looking at you? I vividly remember you saying, and I quote 'Yes, I'm pregnant! What about it!'"
You groaned.
"Why don't you just tell me why you really don't wanna go,"
You sighed taking the blanket off your legs.
JJ scanned your skin for a second and then looked at you confused.
"My veins JJ! My veins are fucking huge!"
"And?"
"If I go to the beach I'm gonna have to wear a dress and I don't like my legs looking like that,"
"Y/N, I don't think anyone's gonna notice, and even if they did, who cares, you look hot with or without your veins being redder," he sat next to you.
"You really think so?"
"Of course I do, besides, didn't we fuck right after you woke up? You swore you looked awful but to me, you were the hottest woman alive, now, come on, we have a beach date to attend,"
"A date?"
"Well, yeah, with- with the pogues,"
Week 14
"Y/N, can I come in?" JJ knocked on your door.
"No,"
He frowned, "Why not?"
"Because, I- I'm naked," you lied.
JJ scoffed, "As if I haven't seen you naked already, come on open the door,"
"No!"
"Why not?!"
You groaned getting closer to the door, "Because I-" you blushed, "Just no, ok?"
JJ rolled his eyes walking to his room, he searched through his notebook.
"14th week, 14th week, 14th week... Oh, here it is," After reading it something in him felt weird, he decided to call you as he also closed his door, when you picked up the phone you were still nervous, "Y/N,"
"JJ,"
"What are you doing,"
"I'm watching tv,"
Ok, so option number one was out the window, "What are you watching?"
"Dr. Sleep,"
Option two was also wrong, "Y/N, are you afraid to open the door because you're horny?"
"No?" you bit your thumb.
He laughed over the line, "I'm not gonna try anything I promise,"
"I know, but I can't trust myself, and let's be honest, you don't have the strength to reject me,"
"You got a point,"
Then you stayed silent.
"Would it be too bad if we tried it tho?" you suggested.
"Well, it's safe and the baby won't even know it's happening,"
"I'll think about it," you hung up.
