Idiots with the painted face, in the corner taking up space
(Inspired by this drawing of wedding gown Nya)

I think they would just chill. Talk about their lives, maybe. Brothers, lovers, friends, powers. How they got to this point. Terry steals a child because she can. Yk, the usual stuff. (Someone please tell them their weddings will go wrong (/pos) and they can somewhat go towards happiness afterwards. They desperately need it.)

Y'know, I have never drawn Nadakhan yet despite Skybound being my fav season, sooo been thinking of instead of just drawing Nadakhan as is, making him look the silkyvoice seducer that he is that Jay once said base from what I still remember from skybound, cause I haven't rewatch it yet
Imma draw him instead killed/dying/fighting while also dying or severely beaten and wounded by Jay, cause honestly I wanna see Jay be in a murderous internal rage when it comes to Nadakhan, our sweet lil Bluebell just dreaming of many ways to murder and torture his tormentor, and I simply wanna execute such dreams,
Also why not, it's been itching at my mind for a while and maybe even make a design for Nadakhan along the way for fun.
Also good on practicing drawing gore and bruises ^^ feel free to voice your ideas on how Nadakhan should die/dying cause the more the merrier
#skybound#I wanna draw#but I have so many personal projects#ksjsidjskxna#Jay#Nadakhan#I'll probably do this when I have free time and not spent most of my free days just passed out from exhaustion#ideas#my mind is itching for gore#and what better subject to use other than Nadakhan

I was talking to my mutual about Cole when I had a surge of Thoughts so per usual you all have to hear them now. I was considering a couple things, namely his development and place as the "strong guy" on the team and his masculinity (and how it presents in the show vs in fanon).
Cole's pretty often typecast as the gruff strong guy in a lot of fan-media (from fanfics to fanart etc) which isn't wrong because he was like that, especially within the early seasons. The way he spoke, the way he acted, his place as a sort of leading force. In season three you even see him in that stupid lumberjack fit (said affectionately), it's all very traditionally masculine. Which fits his whole Strong and Big guy of the team role (the five man band archetypes etc etc). However, it's interesting to say because at his core, he's very emotional and very driven by a strong sense of internal compassion (with a canonical affinity to children). Which obviously none of that is opposed to masculinity but these traits begin to show more as the gruffness pulls back. The first real example of that I think is in ToE with his fight with Jay. I don't read him as being invested in their fighting the same way Jay was. Jay was fueled by insecurity and a very strong sense of jealousy and possessiveness. Cole? I think he was just reacting to Jay's aggression, which didn't put Nya in a better position but it is a difference.
So when their match rolls around, he's the first one to realize what they're doing is stupid and give in. He reaches out emotionally to Jay. However, Jays still is a friend so that is easy to write off as a symptom of friendship. And then following ToE we have possession and DOTD which I think are where he really begins to develop, and have the strongest examples of what I'm getting at. I'm going out on a limb and saying that I really see his prior gruffness as a sort of armor, to be good enough for the team (insert that one Wu note of him staying up late before missions) and also there his whole rebellious streak against his father trying to force him to be someone he's not. (Note: I wouldn't be surprised if how Lou raised him really had a impact on all this) Then, we get to Possession and both his self worth and self image are shook badly by literally dying. He outright says he's not a ninja anymore, which I think he based a lot of who he was on (<- which is why struggling with it hit so hard).
Finally DOTD comes up and I think we see the strongest example of where his compassion really become a core trait. It's his fight with Yang. He had no reason to reach out to him, to be honest he had the right not to, but he did and it worked! He didn't get out of DOTD in the end with brute force, he got out of it with emotional support (his team showing up), a stubborn adherence to his moral code, and reaching out to Yang with empathy. From that point on, I think he's softer and more prone to being emotional, it's like there was a very real shift. To circle back to Jay, because I think he makes for a good comparison, he does not develop like that post ToE. Actually, the issues carying from s3 (though, they do exist prior just not as starkly) all the way to Skybound where it gets violently (literally) addressed. Jay fans can probably say it better than me but the season is about his insecurity and treatment of Nya and there's a reason both Nadakhan and Cliff are like that (read: they're parallels). It's just interesting because both Cole and Jay have issues with self worth and image but they present and develop very differently.
There's also the fanon aspect with those two that's really funny. I think everyone's aware of the infamous fanon-bruise, the 2010s-yaoification. Uwu Jay, Big Strong Man Cole, and how weirdly racist it is. It's just funny to note because the issues projected onto Cole in fanon are ones Jay has, like, in the show. Cole's the more emotional and compassionate one of the two, but because of the strong guy role, it gets flipped around in fanon. Going by the 'traditional' (read: toxic) masculine standards, in terms of personality and character, I think Jay more closely aligns. It reminds me of this post I saw once, it was of Hunted where Jay was making the plane (?) and Cole was with baby Wu. It called Jay the 'mom' and Cole the 'dad' which I find kind of funny because if you look at it through that hetero-normative lense, it really should be the other way around. Cole's the one caring for the baby pretty consistently, Jay's the one making a machine and Working. Did Jay just get called the 'mom' there because people think of him as smaller and weaker and therefore more feminine? Did Cole get called the dad just because he's strong and considered bigger? It's interesting. Fanon does Cole really dirty sometimes.
To get back on topic of Cole's narrative development, then we get to MOTM (like a bajillion years later which no I'm not complaining except I am). Cole's characterization in MOTM is so fucking good. MOTM does a fantastic job at tying together several of his strings. It ties in Lilly, his self esteem, his staunch morality, affinity towards leadership, and compassion into one, pretty bow. MOTM puts Cole back into a leading role, and it gives him several groups to reach out to (Vania, the munce and geckle, the uppily). It draws back the insecurity present in him, letting it show again to be addressed. It even ties in his relationship to Wu in a really lovely way to me. MOTM is the season where Cole finds who he is, his identity and his place as his mothers son.
Speaking of that, I have a very strong love for male characters who exemplify who their mothers were and what they taught them. The scenes with Lilly really put his entire character into a different perspective. At the start he was this tough kid fresh off grief and pressurized so strongly by his dad and himself and he goes through loops and hurdles of strength and identity and by the end he finds himself exactly where he needs to be. Where he's the strongest and it's in his mothers footsteps, as someone both emotional and strong. It's a really lovely character arc to take him on, and though I haven't watched DR, I've heard they continue that on.
Anyways, consider it positive masculinity, consider it anything else. I just had a lot of thoughts to share and hope I don't sound too 'reading-too-deep' about it. Bye bye Kar ramble over.

I'm so close to crying, my wifi was being a little bitch but it pulled through. I didn't even get to finish my cake, my mum's gonna question why I'm crying, how am I gonna explain this to her?
I love Vast, not sure if you knew that. I hold her close to my heart. She means so much to me, helped me through many a gender trouble. Solidified a few things about myself. I fear I won't let go of her any time soon. This SMP was something I looked forward to, whenever a stream was scheduled, I'd try to watch it even if it was after midnight for me. It got me back into writing and art, it just holds a very special place in my heart.
Honestly, this Smp really helped my anxiety, helped me interact a bit more in fandoms than I usually do, helped me step away from the sidelines and I can only be grateful for that.
My little magpie is so special to me, I project so hard onto her and I can only thank this smp for letting me make her.
So once again, thank you to the cast of SkyBound, you were all amazing
#wrens garden notes#bound smp#Once I stop crying I will write that Thea fluff I promised#Yes i'm gonna try interact with chat in the next bound

The Trigger collab animation came out and it’s the best thing Transformers has done in the current decade.
Truly a love letter to Transformers from G1 to EarthSpark, it squeezes in everything it possibly can from most media. However the catch is that it’s only animated media and the live action movies, the comics (any assorted manga, Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW & Skybound) aren’t referenced, while some Japanese exclusive stuff gets a lil’ bit more attention (understandable since it’s, y’know, Japanese fans being nostalgic about the anime they grew up with).

Transformers Go, Q-Transformers, and the Beast Wars anime got particular attention.

This shot of Liger Megatron and Green Lion Lio Convoy is especially cool.
I think initially I was expecting a Trigger animated greatest hits from select moments from each show, and while they still technically do that in spots…

It’s mostly a mega crossover with different characters interacting otherwise.

And it’s all the better for it.
I mean where else are you gonna find TFA Optimus about to smash Masterforce Overlord’s face in?

There’s no real narrative, it’s just random cool shots though the closest thing to a framing device is the PV opening with Vector Prime looking down on Cybertron across all time lines.
Regarding EarthSpark’s contributions to the short, they’re minimal. The Terrans and Mandroid don’t appear at all, which is a little bizarre.
ES Megatron appears among the other Decepticon leaders instead of being with ES Optimus on the Autobot leader side.

You’d think Mandroid would be there next to BWII Galvatron instead, but I guess not. Sadly they omitted RiD15 Steeljaw too, instead using RiD15 Megatronus Prime’s floating head.
SatAM Robotnik voice: Ah well, life is not perfect.
The main ES rep are the Maltos.

This just reinforces ES needed to be 2D, because they actually look good. Roche’s style doesn’t work in 3D.
Anyway the human cast they chose for this final shot amuses me.

Love seeing my favorite Clays being included. The lack of RiD Steeljaw (G1 Steeljaw did appear with Lio Junior and RiD15 Aerobolt though) is forgiven.
Anyhow, the specific use of the Clays, the (S3) Witwickys, the Maltos and the Onishis (this is especially funny since Koji’s mom never met her universe’s Optimus) is somehow very random, but also kinda appropriate. Like I get Spike and Dot’s families, since it serves as bookends, but the Clays and Onishis still feel a bit random. Still, including both Robots in Disguise families is a nice touch in my book!
The short ends with a different bookend as mentioned.

What starts out as G1 Prime & Megs transitions to ES Prime & Megs shaking hands. The old with the current series. It works~! I admit I’m surprised they didn’t include TFONE somehow. I know it’s technically not out yet, but there’s enough material to have had Orion and D-16 have some kind of tussle. It would’ve been an interesting way to tie it into the above scene and this one:

When it comes to general rep, the stuff that gets the most focus is G1, Beast Wars, Animated, & Galaxy Force. Cyberverse doesn’t really get anything beyond the leader shot, but there is this awesome but very random shot of Croaton over looking Holi’s Rescue Patrol walking on a beach littered with the dead bodies of the generic Decepticons from “War Dawn”.

Sucks to be you guys.
It also occurs to me the Rescue Bots cartoons appear to be omitted along with BotBots, but that might partly be due to them not having Japanese releases? I’m not sure, but it’s funny how Q-Transformers is acknowledged of all things, but not Heatwave or Burgertron. Maaaaybe that’s for the best on the later…
Still the PV is a blast and is pry the most earnest passion project that GETS Transformers vs what we’ve been getting post Aligned cartoon wise.
I still hope this leads to a proper TF anime series made by Trigger, like what happened with Gridman. We need a return to good 2D animated TF shows and not more CGI slop like WFC or S2 ES. That Beast Wars and Machines are still superior despite being retro by today’s standards says something…
The catch however is the original video is region locked…

but some fans have ripped it and posted it on their YT:
youtube
So go check it out while you can! It’s pure Energon-y goodness!

What's your favourite lore stream and why?
Oh goodness… I have done a lot of lore streams and I don’t know if I can choose a favorite, especially if we’re talking about all the smp’s I’ve been on... I can maybe narrow it down to my top three though?
So first I need to say my last DiO stream. It’s one of my favorites for a lot of reasons; DiO was the very first server I ever streamed on, it’s where I met Olive and Moki and Konics and so many other friends I still have today, and it’s also one of the first places I did lore. DiO’s lore was very loose and vague and typically unplanned and improved. But, for my second to last and last stream, me, Volc, Olive, and Dark decided to plan everything out and it went really, really well. It maybe isn’t the best lore stream I’ve done technically speaking, but it still sticks with me both because of nostalgia and the sense of accomplishment that I have regarding being able to pull it off as well as we did with so little experience. It was really cool.
The next one I wanna talk about happened recently (ish) on siege; Mara’s turning! I’d had that stream planned since the first few months on Siege and it took me a year to finally get to the place where I could portray it. And I could not’ve asked for a better group of friends to help me do that. Corn and Cyra did so much between helping me with cutscenes and builds behind the scenes, to their tremendous acting. Those lore streams are some of my proudest work so far and I’m still impressed they went as well as they did lol.
Finally, I think I’d be amiss if I didn’t talk about the Mojave returning stream, with it’s 8 cutscenes, like 8 additional people, and skybound pre-finale-ness. It was especially nerve wracking because my pov was the only one being shown, so if anything went wrong with my stream the pre-finale to the first season of bound was toast. I was so stressed before that stream. I spent that whole week I had off just going over the plan I had in my head and making sure everything made sense and would work out alright, and surprisingly enough, I think it pretty much did! There were a few little hiccups here and there, but considering how many moving parts there were, I’m surprised it went as well as it did. It would not have been possible if not for Heyhay and Art and all of the other amazing cast of Bound. Everyone who sat with me for the hours I spent editing the cutscenes together the night before stream, as well as everyone who was there to welcome Mojave back at the end of it. It was so crazy to look back and think about how three years ago I was writing fan songs for fable and now the amazing people behind that project were helping me tell one of my own alongside them. Just an amazing and incredibly stressful experience, 10/10 (would recommend without the 8 cutscenes edited the night before lmao)

Do you think you'll do sound stuff like you did at the end of skybound for the others seasons?
Also do you plan to put them on Spotify?
I definitely plan to do more yes!!
For Bound I think it’d be really fun to at the end of each season kind of create an ambient soundscape that sort of encapsulates the season at its coziest? I don’t know, I just think that’d be really cute, hence the Brightstep town centre audio! And I’d love to do one for Starbound, for sure!
Honestly I have a couple thoughts for Starbound throughout the season :D
I’m hopefully planning to do a lot with soundscapes and audio editing coming up, cause they’re something I really enjoy!! I still have the rest of my Fable character tracks to finish/release (I’ve got a whole list-) which are coming soon, and I’d love to do more specific tracks for Skybound, with places like the library, maybe Rune’s workshop, etc! Lots more coming in the future hopefully, for Bound and other projects!
(I’m also looking at potentially starting doing custom/request ambient-audio/soundscape commissions on my Kofi, if that’s something people are interested in?? But I’m unsure on that front if there would be interest lol- Would love to hear from people if there is-)
In terms of uploading them to Spotify, I honestly hadn’t even considered it before now- 😅 But if putting them on Spotify is something people would want, I definitely could, absolutely!!!

SOoo I was finding Jaya moments to get an idea of their relationship before S3 to to draw for my Skybound project and needless to say I was distracted by this again.
S1 ep6
I can’t get over Jay’s Wailing in distress like Jeez calm down lmao. This was such a missed opportunity for secret samurai Nya to interact with drag jay so I had to draw.
LISTEN ALL THE OTHER TIMES the ninja tried to catch her it was after a snake fight. But Jay was just like I’m going to lure him here and dress as a damsel in distress on train tracks. And she was there in the middle of the desert for some reason? Do you guys think he said his plan in front of her 💀? Where did he get these clothes??!? Nya was quite the entire time, what I would do to be in her brain.
Anyway 2/3 done with Animatic story boarding this distracted me for a couple days but I am getting right back to it.

I just wanted to say I love how you draw Beachcomber he’s so cute!
Thank you so much!! Beachcomber is extremely underrated; I loved him since the G1 cartoon but got my motivation to start doodling him with Astrotrain after reading Skybound. When comms clear up and I get some other projects for Patreon done, I want to draw a comic between those two, not just a solo panel page.
If you guys haven’t already, give Skybound a peek!

Out of curiosity, what is your favorite planet to explore out of all the Jedi games? Also, I know it’s a little early, but happy holidays!

Happy holidays! 🎄 Ooh this is tricky. The art direction and environment design in Fallen Order is more memorable to me, but the movement mechanics and level design feel stronger in Survivor.
For actual gameplay exploration, my favorite planet is probably Koboh: it's huge, filled with different unique biomes, and has secrets to discover around every corner. It changes with the game's story, as new roaming enemies appear (to fight you or each other!) while new friends gather at Pyloon's. There's also a great sense of verticality, from the skybound Observatory to the Phon'Qi Caverns to the half-sunken Lucrehulk. Its High Republic roots give the planet some history and mystery, though I'd say Jedha does that even better (really love the Sanctuary Temple!) And the planet's circular layout, two types of mounts, and fast travel make it easy to find your way back to familiar territory. I spent a lot of my first playthrough just roaming the different regions and finding surprise boss fights or hidden chests tucked away in yet another cavern.
Fallen Order is intentionally emptier, with big cavernous spaces and environments that echo their former glory. Focusing on the Zeffo means we explore vaults and tombs, spaces where the mystical side of the Force is put front and center. The planets Zeffo, Dathomir, and Bogano all have big focal points that drive the story (and our exploration) towards a specific goal - but the level layouts are winding and it's easy to get lost/stuck, especially without a fast travel mechanic. Still, the stylized color and lighting gives each location their own distinct visual identities and I think they're overall more impactful to look at, even if more challenging to explore.
There's a very (very) good chance Tanalorr will feature prominently in Jedi 3, and I'm hoping it could become the best of both worlds. Maybe an upgradable skiff to travel between islands, or improved jump abilities to ascend tall mountains. Contrasting the "lived-in" areas of Hidden Path refugees against the frozen-in-time High Republic buildings and any secrets left behind by the Nihil or other ancient groups. Maybe something even older lurking in the bowels of this nexus in the Force.
Until then, we'll keep exploring our other Jedi planets :) Admittedly these days I'm more focused on in-game photo/video projects than gameplay, which would be a completely different ranking: Bracca, Jedha, and Coruscant would go way up on the list. But these are adventure games first and Cal dress-up simulator second, soooooooooooo

Skybound (now complete!)
Drarry | Rated Teen and up | 61K words/6 chapters
Summary: No matter how much Harry Potter wanted to believe he’d left danger behind when the war ended, it found him again anyway. All he had to do was step out his own front door on a Tuesday morning. A Drarry re-imagining of Howl’s Moving Castle.
Tags: EWE, post-war, romance, HP canon setting plus Fire Demons, getting together, secret identities, curses, dark magic, house-elves, magical house, potions, banter, humor, light angst, disability, threats of violence, happy ending, offscreen mistreatment of magical beings, Harry as Sophie Hatter, Draco as Howl Pendragon
Read Skybound on AO3
Notes: This love letter to one of my favorite stories was long in the making. While it was easy to envision Harry and Draco as Sophie and Howl, it was something of a challenge to translate the plot into the HP-verse while keeping the romance and humor that make Howl’s Moving Castle so beloved. In the end, I took my favorite parts of Hayao Miyazaki's film and Diana Wynne Jones’ novel, cut them into little triangles, and sewed them back together again. I hope the finished product still has some magic in it.
Many thanks to @babooshkart and @onbeinganangel for their input while I was brainstorming back in 2021, the folks on Tumblr and the Drarry Discord who kept me motivated through the home stretch with their enthusiasm for this project, and (most of all!) @nv-md for being a stellar beta reader and all-around trusty cowgirl when I put out the call.

skybound Thoughts
sooo uh, im thinking about doing a rewrite of ninjago skybound.
im currently rewatching it because of this, and in case i never get around to actually writing anything, im gonna word-vomit onto this hellsite (affectionate) cuz im having Thoughts.
quick tangent though, skybound seems very similar to danny phantom (at least in how the fandom treats it) in the sense that, when you actually watch it, it's pretty tame and honestly kinda shit. but then you dig deeper. and you see the Implications and Possibilities, and suddenly it has you by the throat with all the ways this could have gone if it wasn't a kids show.
like, in skybound you get genuine torture and creepy implications on nadakhan's part (seriously, get away from jay and nya you fucking creep), and while it's never really explored since, y'know, kids show, it makes nadakhan one of the best and most terrifying villains i personally have watched in ninjago.
anyway, here are a couple of things i've been toying with in terms of a possible rewrite:
one thing im thinking about taking from various other fics i've seen (i think its mainly shown in bending but never breaking, which is an absolutely amazing fic and you should go read it but MIND THE TAGS AND TRIGGER WARNINGS PLEASE) is jay learning to use the electricity in his body, though obviously not painlessly
bonus points for his elemental power getting royally fucked up once/if the vengestone is removed, but in the sense of suddenly he is completely overwhelmed and his power is so much stronger and its a danger to both himself and others
queerplatonic jaya: i think in this season especially, nya felt very aroace coded (i might just be projecting as i myself am aroace, but that's the vibe i got) and so for a skybound rewrite nya and jay would have a serious conversation about how nya doesn't feel that way for anyone, even if she *does* really like jay
just general angst and torture
id rewrite jays obsession with nya, specifically his first wish (if i dont just jump right into him being on misfortunes keep)
i think id like to do something more with delara than just her being some dead girlfriend. i.e.: i'd make her fucking unhinged and the kind of person that would fall in love with and support nadakhan.
i really liked @cotidianoseeder's idea for canary!jay, so possibly something in that direction
i also really like it when people keep serpentine aspects in jays character, so some of that as well
fuck it, make him inhuman, y'know?
i'd age everyone up i think (i dunno how old they are in skybound, but a 17 minimum would be in my rewrite)
OH! i'd put bruiseshipping as a romantic relationship cuz i love them
nya would make the final wish, since a big part of her character would be forging her own story and taking control of her own life
zanes falcon would survive cuz i love that fucking bird
echo would be taken off the island post-rewind
what do y'all think??? i keep having more ideas, i might post them
