i miss this show so much already SOBS. i did enlist another g roup of irl friends to watch it w me though and we are starting tomorrow so yay :] and also beware the rewatch posts

[guy who has said that i'm glad i watched this live every week voice] i'm rly glad i watched this live, but this time its bc. i think there is something so truly and genuinely special abt the way that the theories abt bravern himself evolved week to week.........like at first everyone was like Well maybe he's an evil alien who is gonna Kill isami. and then everyone was like Well maybe he's a death drive and isami is his lulu. and THEN everyone was like Well there's still some knuth in there so. but none of that was the case!!! none of that was true!!! it was literally just this one guy and all of the love he has and Absolutely Sucks Shit at expressing!!!!!!! and i just. idk. that hits me rly hard that maybe it was percieved as sinister at first just cause it was a little Off but in the end it was something really really sweet :] it also just feels like yet another way of the show doing its "we know audiences aren't willing to accept optimism at face value these days" schtick like they mentioned in that one interview and just. showing how bravern himself evolves in the eyes of the viewer. it's rly special to me :]

i know bravern speaking german in ep2 was a nod to the translator he uses on superbia later but. what if someone loved you so much they became german (if i ever mention kyouji again in a bravern context just fucking shoot me)

WILD to watch the finale and then see the isami hate train take off FKSJDHFJ cause i feel like i adored him so much in that ep LMAO. my guy really felt every emotion known to man in the span of 22 minutes and then started makin gup new ones. he's very human!!! and i love that abt him!!!!

although some takes. i'm ngl. i know we joke abt subtext and cowards but it becomes less funny when the subtext that is there is missed LMAO

sorry to keep bringing up ep4 but i think its SO interesting how like. the way that bravern seems to helps isami out emotionally in that ep actually ends up not helping him in the long run aswell? like getting to know all those ppl care abt him is good ofc but it also feeds Directly into his hangups in ep5. and i remember being a little confused as to Why that was the case on first watch cause ep4 was So abt his beef w lulu (FLSDKJFH) but w the smith being a human again thing in the end it makes. so much more sense!!!!! i can't wait to rewatch the show w it still fresh in my mind and find even more!!!!!!

and omg the beef with lulu. literally nothing is funnier to me than "we are gonna have one Rival Fight in this show and that position is gonna be filled by isami and smith's fucking KID" SOBS. LIKE. it kills me FKSLDJFHL. though i will say again that i think it is So fucking special that in ep10 lulu specifically calls out isami taking care of her after smith dies and it apparently happens to such a degree that like. he is worth her time traveling back to save independently aswell? even though there was no way that he "took care of her" for more than a couple days? which i think just says so much abt isami in the sense that like. at no point before ep6-7ish in his arc would he have even entertained that idea. uwu

i think i said this before but ikd if i included the screenshot but. the fact that while bravern is dying he sees THAT SAME FUCKING PICTURE is just evidence that men do not take enough photos i think

there is literally Nothing more onbrand for bravern than the fucking. "ep13 abema listing" (if anyone who has not heard abt that sees this. it was just a rebroadcast of ep12 mislabeled) sending everyone into a tizzy regarding like. Secret Episode Question Mark except half of everyone being convinced its an april fools joke and the other half being convinced that the april fools joke is that we didn't expect it. and then it turns out to not be interntional atall and the real april fools joke is Fry Pan. SOBS

This episode is playing with my balance. cas' scenes are funny. dean is sad. sam is confused. i like ezekiel, i guess. i hope he can help dean. i really hope most of the angels are good. ezekiel gave me hope that angels are not fully bad.

I think this is such a small thing compared to what Sam did. Sam trusted a demon instead of his brother, and Dean forgave him anyway and started trusting him again.

sometimes dean didnt trust sam either but they were always brothers. The person Dean cares about most in this world is his little brother Sammy. And Sam took it away from him. I'm sorry I loved Sam I still do BUT if someone acts against my favorite character I will defend my favorite character and I guess I'm a little harsh on Sam right now but I can't help it. dean is the big brother, Dean always looked out for Sam. sam and dean they have different point of views. sam didnt even try to save dean from purgatory. and dean did everything for him. i knew when they argued dean would save sam every time but in the same situation sam wouldnt save dean. when sam said he didnt even tried to save dean from the purgatory i thought something happened. and i still cant believe he didnt even tried. and he had no reason not to. like dean didnt even died he was in purgatory with the monsters. why didnt he try to save him? and i know dean's choice was selfish yes he didnt wanted to be alone. dean had a duty of care since he was little and he'll always try to save his little brother. but sam idek. Even Bobby was disappointed. Yes Winchesters had a deal but they never listened to this deal until Sam broke it. idk im just sad that it came to this.

Actually, I was finishing a season in two days, but I wanted to slow down a little. because I was going very fast and if I went at this speed I would have to say goodbye to them in a very short time. But I don't want to say goodbye yet, so I'm trying to delay saying goodbye by watching other shows together. I love SPN so much, I love watching Dean, Cas and Sam and their adventures. But there are 5 seasons left and I don't want to say goodbye.

Crowley is still a little bit human. his sons reactions and interrogation were funny. what is cas doing? crowle is funny. I'm just starting to love him again but he ruins everything. and dean he enjoys using the blade i know he cant help it but still he enjoys violence. is abaddon really dead? i think so but i cant be sure.

Cas is getting good at lying. spears and aguilera!? dean doesnt trust cas and sam. and he is under the influence of the knife. "-why is 6 afraid of 7? i assume its becuse 7 is a prime number and prime numbers can be intimidating. -its becuse 7 8 9" I've been waiting for this to happen. dean scares me. I have no idea what he will do while under the influence of the knife. and that scares me. i knew he wouldnt leave the blade. gadreel is right. everyone makes mistakes. and again dean… i knew he would attack he shook his hand. If he wasn't going to attack, he probably wouldn't have shaken hands. he is out of control. He can't even control himself.

I started watching supernatural about a month ago. At first carry on didn't mean anything to me, but now I listen to it completely differently. I even made it my phone's ringtone. I get emotional when Carry On is played at the beginning of the episode. Dean, Sam, Cas and the others are my everything even though I have only known them for a month. It's like I've known them my whole life. I love them very much and I'm glad I started following their adventures. i love them so much. but especially dean, im sorry but i have to say it he is my everything i love him so much. i love sam and cas too and bobby but dean is different. haven't we seen this before? Or am I experiencing deja vu? metatron saving the woman. idk it feels so familiar. I love Cas' references. Metatron is really getting on my nerves. gadreel was a good angel. really cas did all of this for dean. i am not sad they won. yes dean is dead but i know he wont be dead for long so no problem i guess. sam IS trying to bring his brother back. he said he wouldnt but he is trying it is nice to see he tries. i knew we would see demon dean in the future because i saw spoilers about it. but i didnt think we would see now! well, at least he is not really dead. hope he'll be okay. things will never be great even good but at least i hope it wouldnt be bad.

my full Rita backstory headcanons:

(this is before anything ep16 came out and pure conjecture)

Family

Rita was born to ex-convict parents who gave them their best despite harsh conditions.

Rita probably met the Gokkan Yeti very young once.

Rita was given up for adoption to the Gokkan sovereign when the time came to select a sucessor.

They are not adopted right away but they had to leave their family/family name for the sake of neutrality when they enter the royal academy. That happened when they turned 10.

Their parents find it difficult to let go but giving Rita a chance at a better life and to see the wider world is more important.

Rita doesn't fully understand the weight of turning their back on their birth family yet, but they understood where their parents are coming from and wanted to do something for their community.

Gokkan had the reputaion of harbouring criminals and vicious characters but growing up, along with an absolute sense of right and wrong, Rita also saw people who help each other and try hard to begin again.

To be able to judge people not with presumption but a willingness to give them second chances is one of the merit criteria for the Gokkan throne.

God Papillon's will factor in too, somehow.

Over the years Rita has seen many people who are not accepted by society be driven to crime hence their empathy and the line to Jeremy in ep12

Rita's mother taught them about taking responsibilities when mistakes are made.

Rita’s father takes baby Rita on hikes and teach them to identify creatures.

Baby Rita loves to laugh, so much.

with Morfonia

Morfonia was a child pickpocket/cat burglar that was given a second chance at the academy.

Rita and Morfonia are the same age but Morfonia came to court two years later.

Morfonia was a bit rebellious at first but seeing Rita be the teacher's pet sparked her comeptitiveness.

Morfonia headed a one-sided rivalry with Rita for that term.

Morfonia is really smart and ace school without trying but she could just never win against the studious Rita.

Morfonia has never wanted to go to work

When it’s term final and Morfonia finally took top of class this once Rita didn’t show up for some reason, she found Rita buried themself in a Moffun-shaped snow fort.

of which Rita took a page off Morfonia’s book to skip school,

then she became as clingy to Rita as she can within limits of Rita's aversion to physical touch.

(when i say class i mean them joining the groups of 5 adult staff taking continued studies)

They probably have a lot of teenage misadventures together and Predecessor would scold Morfonia for “bad influencing” Rita, but they saw Rita needed those fun times too.

I don't have very concrete headcanons about their gender expression as I don't have much personal experience on this. But I think it's something along the lines of, they never really gave much thought of it because the answer was obvious. They don't particularly align with one gender or another, it's just, it doesn't matter what gender I am in regards of my abilities to perform my duties as sovereign? so it's not really anyone's business to be nosy either.

i would not be immune to if in younger days Rita used to dress ‘lil princess’ but i don’t think that’s where canon’s going (but the "tutu" in Rita's room??!!!?!?)

Thoughts on Uprising Ep12 “We Both Know How This Ends”

- cold open: I see the Renegade is getting some good ol’ fashioned sabotage in!! love his nonchalance at initially getting caught. also I find it interesting that Pavel is the one dealing with this incursion rather than Paige or Tesler, mostly because the Renegade has largely been a problem for Paige and Tesler primarily, while only like tangentially with Pavel. (Like Pavel mostly goes after the Renegade after Paige has screwed up.)

- the tanks screw up magnificently, well done Tron and Beck. Beck beats a hasty retreat, and then we cut to moody cityscapes and then Able is leaving the garage and puts Mara (who is complaining about the mess the other shift left behind, which is a cute detail that I love) in charge of the day’s activities. (and it was at this moment that I knew what the main plot was going to be…….)

- Able is Going To A Mysterious Place~~~ and then there are gridbugs, which here do a whole helluva lot more than they ever did in the original film!! (seriously the vibe I get from gridbugs’ original appearance is “we spent all this money on this animation and we are putting it in the film, goddammit!!”)

- Mara’s turn as head of the garage goes about as well as one might expect…. Beck and Zed are late, and slacking off, and folks take advantage of Mara to get time off, and so on… and THEN. the plot arrives as a passel of Recognizers!! with a very angry Pavel in tow! oh joy. (also I love Beck’s comment of “gee, thanks Renegade” because like… he has to fix his own sabotage now. this is hilarious and one of the downsides of being a secret renegade….)

- I gotta say, Tron really outdid himself with this self-replicating code on these tanks?? like, good for him, I guess, but also…. oopsie if you thought this was gonna just be set aside by the bad guys instead of being given someone else to solve (also I get the sense that Pavel is trying to get this fixed quickly because he maybe doesn’t want Tesler to find out??)

- watching Able set up his little shelter beacon thing I was seriously wondering what the heck he was doing (i mean, I figured it involved Tron, but regardless)—right up until Tron showed up and then it was like “ohhhhh….. okay, I see now”

- and then Beck’s Two Dads have an argument, and I’m sorry Tron, but Able won this one. what you’re having Beck do might be important, but like…. if you don’t actually have a plan, an overarching plan that has an end scenario, then…. yeah. we both know how this ends, and it ends very badly for Beck. (also the little hint to Cyrus with “another one of your mistakes!” oooooOOOOOHOO MAN)

- it was nice to see Mara getting her bearings as leader at the end, both by calling out Beck (like wtf were you planning to do there, kiddo? seriously???) and by solving the problem of the tanks and getting everything done in time. (also good on Zed for fixing the freaking lift and getting everything ship-shape) (also just a side note: Zed’s little comment about liking Mara just—TELL HER ABOUT IT. GOD. Y’ALL TWO ARE GONNA KILL ME, I SWEAR.)

- in re: Pavel: on the one hand, he is a little ridiculous and is basically the trope of the underling constantly trying to usurp their boss (I believe TV Tropes calls this “The Starscream”?? could be wrong), but on the other hand, in instances like these, he comes across as incredibly dangerous and not one to cross. like he is occasionally downright terrifying, and Paul Reubens does a great job swinging between those two extremes.

- the ending of the episode is great. (especially Able’s little business with Beck: “return this for me” “return it to who?” “I think you already know”) but it was nice to see Able be supportive of Mara’s turn as boss. he is Supportive Dad to all!!! seriously this ending just warmed the little cockles of my heart, and I loved it.

- and honestly? this made for a nice breather episode after the big bombshells of the last two or three stories. there weren’t any action scenes, unless you count Able and Tron fighting off the gridbugs (said sequence seriously gave me the heebie jeebies btw, ICK) and the bits at the beginning, but…. yeah. it was a nice change of an episode, also it was nice to see Beck (a) actually doing his job and (b) actually hanging out with his friends kind of.

- so yeah!! good stuff good stuff! love it!

next episode is the last one I watched 10 years ago, and then we get into new stuff for me; oh boy!! I might watch The Stranger tonight, and report back tomorrow; we’ll see how I feel.

decided to ramble about this in its own post since i don’t wanna go and rant about it to a fandom of strangers when they didn’t ask. anyways this song s from the newest s2e12 entry from helluva boss, and it’s me talking about how i relate so deeply to it from my own father experiences.

“Your boxes packed up on the bed, your words are in my head, telling me it will be okay, you remember what you said? Or was it just another lie?”

“How could you lie to my face? And did our time mean nothing to you? Were you bluffing all along?”

My father lied. A lot. Practically constantly he’d lie to my face, keep secrets from me, even as I grew older. I don’t think he ever once fully told me the truth- something I’ve especially learned after he died, and my mother got to be brutally honest about her time with him. Something he frequently told me was how much he’d love to visit me, but he doesn’t have the money, where then he’d turn around and visit our extended family who are four states away. He’d turn around and, apparently, moved all the way down to Texas or so. I don’t remember clearly. He could do all of this, but he apparently never could come visit me. Frequently I can only wonder if he ever actually wanted to come see me or if he was just bluffing directly to my face, to try and keep up whatever small image he had left in my mind. It doesn’t help that I’m pessimistic. What’s worse is how I’ll never know.

My father was abusive, ignorant, and abandoned so many people despite his suddenly mousey attitude after the divorce. I never truly knew how bad it was until he died and my mother could finally speak freely without worrying about my view of him being changed while he was alive. He was the worst kind of narcissist. He refused to get better in every sense of the word unless it meant not being alone, and even then that’s a loose truth. I still don’t know whether I need to forgive him or not. I don’t forgive him for how he damaged me or the rest of my family- my far away siblings. But i’ll always feel complicated about him, because for the longest time I still loved him, and he was still my father most times.

“This place that used to be your home, would you call me on the phone? Will I hear your voice in the middle of the night when I turn off the lights? Or are you just another ghost? Ohhh..”

“And when you’re gone, I will be okay. I will be okay, though I’ll never be the same. And I’ll know that I was right to doubt you. I’ll grow without you and you’ll only know my name.”

This line speaks heaviest to me, with how- by now- he’s been dead for at least two years. His life and death have affected me permanently. He’s the reason I’ll never be the same, and his effect will never cease, even as he sits six feet under. But even with him dead and gone, I’ll still be okay, despite how much it tears out my heart to remember what he missed. What he could’ve seen me accomplish if he’d lived just a little longer. It’s hard to remind yourself of, but you’ll always be okay. I Will Be Okay. I’ll grow older, I’ll accomplish even without him, and it doesn’t matter whether he’d be there or not. He’d never show up, anyways.

Whumpee: Ash Lynx

Highly intelligent, incredibly skilled in combat, excellent leadership, and a determination that knows no bounds, Ash is a very capable young man. He’s the stoic/defiant type of Whumpee, and has one of the most tragic backstories I’ve ever seen. Very Whumpable 👌
