haven’t been on much bc my dog has been sick :( between seizures and an infected tooth we’ve been having a Time trying to get everything fixed (this started around the holidays so our vet has been very booked up…we have been like 3-4 times in the past 4-5 weeks OTL does not help it’s like an hour drive there, so that’s been exhausting) now his new seizure meds are making him sick (was hoping it was like, just an adjustment period thing but he’s been sick for a week and having concerning symptoms…) if I’m not on a ton or slow to replying to messages it’s bc I’m working as much overtime as my job will give me bc Vet Expensive and mentally drained obvi 😞

Shadow wasn't sure what to think of Ozzie at first.

This...furry...lovable...cuddly...golden fur canine with no thoughts in his head immediately walked up to Shadow as soon as he entered the Wachowski household.

He wasn't sure how to react though.

All his life that he had known...pets were not allowed. Maria would talk about pets often, but aware of her vulnerable condition, it could be impossible for her to have one.

But Shadow remembered her talking fondly of them.

During the day, he'd watch the Wachowskis play with his golden fuzzball. They'd take him on walks, play ball...and sometimes, Ozzie would just wonder up to them - sensing they may need his comforting hugs. Such happened when Tails tripped up in a game of baseball, trying to run instead of fly...Ozzie was the first to run up to the young kit.

Maybe that's why Ozzie was snorting up to him now.

He can do this...he's watched Sonic pet and snuggle Ozzie many times. Anything that blue Hedgehog can do, Shadow can do better...at least he intends to.

"Uh...good boy?"

Ozzie just bore his usual golden retriever smile and licked his face. Shadow cringed deep down - but he didn't hate this...not much.

Having read about dog behaviour with Maria before, Shadow knew this as a good sign. No sign of aggression in this little goofball. This was usual for golden retrievers.

Shadow bore of a soft smile, and gently pet Ozzie's head...stroking his floppy ears too.

"Maria would've loved you..."

Ozzie had no idea who Maria was. Or what Shadow was on about. He just knows this black hedgehog needs cuddles. He will give him cuddles - whether Shadow wants them or not.

...Shadow did like those cuddles deep down though.

- Ian gets desperate, he’s messy when he catches you, covering you in bites and kisses, humping you like a needy dog instead of a fierce predator, but the intensity is still there.

- Also likes being prey. He wants you to come get him soooo bad.
