#my pokemon thoughts

hey, question: did you write a post about the fact that something happened 3000 years ago in the pkmn world and how it relates to the regional gimmicks?

The post you might be referring to is this one. But it looks like you might've found it already, rad! I can expand on my thoughts.

Since AZ used the 'machine' 3000 years ago, I was thinking that it was possible that said machine released a huge amount of energy that may created Mega-Stones. And thus providing the ability to Mega-Evolve, first found in Kalos.

Also, thoughts on possible regional variants for an ancient Kalos:

Starters as Tepig, Turtwig, and Popplio.

Tepig: I was thinking an Emboar that would return to all fours, and Fire-Ground. Have patterns similar to this Pict boar carving-

Turtwig: The Torterra into a Grass-Electric variant. Patterned with yellow suns/stars (like the light god of Lugh, father of the famous Cu Chulainn). Grows a gorse tree on back. Like below.

Popplio: Water-Psychic Primarina. Let's go selkie mythology! I think a cute little hoodie or cloak draped around them would work, a symbolism of that seal skin. Maybe make them either a darker blue or have more brown?

Variants within the region itself:

I did mention a Honedge idea, but I don't know how I would shift one up for a variation.

Sawsbuck coming in white and gold, like the forever hunted white deer of myth. A Grass-Fairy type, common where Xerneas has wandered.

Dragonair coming in black, no Dragonite evolution. Styled after the serpents of earth that come up in celtic myths. A Dark-Dragon, burrows where Yveltal has stolen life from the earth.

you're going about your normal day when, suddenly, surprise! you've been pokémon mystery dungeon'd!

unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!

tell me in the tags what you rolled, and how you feel about it - for bonus points, you can spin the wheel again for (or just take your pick of) a pokémon to be your partner.

bonus rules:

you're not shiny unless the wheel tells you you're shiny

take your pick of regional forms and evolutions (for example, if you roll vulpix, it's up to you whether that means normal or alolan vulpix)

apply whatever logic you like with regards to gender

have fun and be yourself!

i saw ubausagi (top right) from the unused pokemon leaks and immediately entered a trancelike state and did not stop until i was done drawing this. if ubausagi has one fan that fan is me 🐰

hiii im sure you’ve answered this before but in regards to your twst x Pokémon, how do you choose which Pokémon go give to the cast?? really curious since your choices are unique :O

unique in a good way, I hope? 😅 (jk jk I haven't come across too many pokemon AUs, so I was going in without preconceptions, I guess!) I was sorta aiming somewhere between doing, like, a full AU with internal consistency and everything, and just picking entirely based on theme/character, so maybe that's why! basically I just set some arbitrary rules (no legendaries/no repeats/evo stages based on year) and then went on ~vibes~. a couple were also suggestions (thank you guys!) and last-minute decisions, so it was a bit of a delightful mess of ideas!

my one regret is that I should have given Riddle a Togedemaru after all. ...you know what, he can have one now, why not
