I was really, really, REALLY, invested in Hance but I was super quiet about it since it wasn't the popular ship in the fandom (that didn't stop me from having like 30 ao3 fics about them open at all times though lol).

I used to own a tiny little cactus...but then I killed it by overwatering it

LSTR-S2301 and the maintenance tunnel ARAR are best friends to me even though that Elster was only on sierpinski for a seemingly brief time, they’re bros who fuck around on the clock during work. I think Elster was probably more willing to put extra time in however she’s also very “okay you’ve given me a list of tasks I did them. They’re done and done well. That’s it, my time now.” Whereas I see Ara being more of a slacker (very valid of her) or at the very least just a bare minimum type of gal when it comes to work.

Idk I tend to imagine them fucking off in the middle of shifts to go find weird lonely corners of sierpinski to hang out in. They don’t even talk half the time but they love it.

I thought abt Wormwood hcs for like 5 seconds before it spiraled way out of control and now I have a whole hypothetical mod in my head with Wormwood as the final boss help

#rat rambles #its not like a hc event thing its just me going that would sure be sick #basically in my hcs wormwood techically Could get most of his nutrients from the earth but doesnt by choice #this is because his roots are kind of parasitic in nature sorta?#as in they do the fun dst moon thing where they try to cling onto and alter other life forms to try and make them part of themself #which wormwood doesnt like doing! its uncomfortable for the other plants and for him #and after a while the plants would fully become part of him and thatd just be a whole other can of worms #but yeah the mod idea is but what if he did just take root and sit there for a while #basically it takes place in a series of giant regions that are all a part of his root system #in my minds eye they each have a boss in them that are based on one of his costumes #thered be at least 4 main regions one thats filled with mushrooms and other cave plants that completely bock out the sun #a rainforesty area filled with spiny plants that want you dead soooo bad #a deserty area filled also filled with plants that want you dead but they eat fire this time #and a relatively normal forest with a temple in the middle where wormwood is cilling in #in my minds eye it works off of enlightenment like other lunar places but no sleepy guys ofc #instead its more like a gague of how well the plantlife around you can see you and as a result of how agressive they will be #I also imagine they are light sensitive which is both a obsticle and smth you can use to your advantage #and ofc youd be playing as wheeler because Id have to ok #anyways I musteth shower now

#one of the worst examples was a recurring nightmare where an active shooter entered my workplace and i was working reception and i had to #stop him and save the whole office. every time i failed to stop the shooter the dream reset #so i had to experience the fear of an active shooter entering the office over and over and over and over #it was like homura in reverse lmao #recently i had one where a mix of friends and coworkers were on a ship with me when suddenly i'm told i have to navigate through frigid and #hostile waters to see them all to safety on the opposite side of the globe #another one a friend and i were both trapped in a decrepit mansion filled with violent animals and plants and i told her to stay in this on #room while i left to try and navigate the place and find a safe way for her to get out

#i ran out of the nonlethal wool pellets i use to keep slugs and snails out of the pots in the first place #and they took full advantage and of course started working ONLY on the new growth on my favourite and biggest pitcher plant #so now i'm going scorched earth with beer traps etc and checking the pots with a flashlight after dark #i've had that plant since it was in a pot that fit in my hand and it's now in a 50 litre tub which it's mostly filled #i'm not losing an entire season worth of growth to a bunch of bastard molluscs lol

Both Kenzan and Johan are more focused on Judai tho, which could either be bc theyre both gay for him or cause this takes place post s4 (so theyre happy to see Jou enjoying life again after his depression). Then you have Fubuki and Asuka in the corner. Fubuki is doing his standout uncoordinated cloudcuckoolander bit by not wearing blue/black/white/yellow like everyone else (get with the program, man!) Instead he's going for that... christmas ensemble? With the rare red....tho now I see it, there's also judais pants and the coke bottles and the red cups and oh my god it was a red/blue/green/yellow colour scheme all along. ANYWAY, while Asuka is more serious with her modest clothing and walking boots, she has this small smile. Like, clearly she's not super duper ecstatic over his dumbass ukelele serenades, but she'll humour him today of all days, not just because it's a special day but because she looooves having her brother back.

Final verdict: this pic honestly just gets better the more you look at it. It makes me wish i had synesthesia just so I could taste the cozy hot chocolate vibes. Like its truly utterly immaculate. Kudos to you for all time!!!

#Incrredible absolutely incredible vibes here holy cow. Especially as an australian freezing in midwinter. Unmatched coziness #like it has that top tier cozy wood cottage setting (respect for graining the floor panels btw) so you can practically see the snow outside #I know they're drinking coke but in my heart that is hot chocolate ok it is beautiful hot chocolate and maybe there is pho somewhere #anyway I also really like how the orange/blue/green mesh together in this piece. It's not too uniform or restrained or blocky. Instead #the colours are diffused throughout the piece. This gives it a lot of balance while simultanously preserving the warmth and cohesion #like manjo asuka ryo and johan in their matching obelisk blues + the night sky outside + the blue books + the blue on Yugis poster tv etc #then ofc the green of the plants + yellow/green rug + Jims croco and fubus pants. The green works esp well to bridge the blue and orange #as opposed to a blade runner style scheme. Anyway I also love how you use blue/black shadows. Specifically how they go fuzzy at the ends #With a nice lil orange glow. I think the strongest example of this is Johan. his white shirt really shows off the blue/orange -> purple fuz #It makes the lighting feel really soft. Also mad respect for this whole setting concept like this room is impressively geometrical #and perfectly angled yet it has that lived in clutter vibe with the book under the tv + the abandoned singular sock + the unkempt comic #books + spread cards + etc. Theres also so much personality to it in the kitty rug smiling clock and posters all over.#Im gonna guess its judais place bc pharoah and the pic of Judai and Johan. Also its slightly irresponsible in a very Judai way.#this would NOT be jims place! he would NOT let his croco eat. uh. Movie film? its not croco food is all Im saying. Anyway. Adding into how #cozy and real this piece feels is the excellent lighting work. Not only is there multiple sources of light and shadow but they overlap #impeccably and have a subtle yet defined limit. I particularly love the two lamps by Asuka and Fubuki. The little shadow hatching on the #walls and window sills around them + the soft airbrush lighting makes this lovely subtle yet defined circle shape. Together with the #light coming thru the door its rly nice. Then theres the general shadow on Croco side of the piece with the deeper shadows from the house #ornaments and edo and such. Like its a small thing but it requires so much thought and dedication and fuckin math that I must salute #speaking of maths the most impressive part of this pic geometrically is the wall at edos side. The angle is sharp yet feels so natural.#yknow what I think that gets into the coziness too. The setting is so boxy and well defined that it almost seems to snug hug the characters #we get the sense of a limited space which is filled by the presence personality and warmth of this friend group. Nothing feels empty #this realisation makes me appreciate the cut off second floor that the stairs lead to cause it adds a roof which further boxes em in #the effect is like peeking into a moeblob yugioh diorama. But instead of being saucy or claustrophobic its just so cozy you could die #anyway last notes I love how the calendar on the wall has a little x we can infer is today!!! because the homeowner was So! Excited!!!#and I love the lonely fan on the bookcase and flower on the cactus (that is a well loved spiky boye). Anyway. Now onto the characters!#now onto the characters! Inspired by Venetian Carnival masks and commedia del'arte characters, the quilt features the antics of Harlequin, the trickster, who has his own ideas about freedom and fun!

Director's Choice

Title: Welcome Home Maker: David Taylor Quilter: David Taylor Design Basis: Original image by Margo Clabo, used with permission I first saw this image from friend Margo Clabo more than a decade ago. It took years to convince her to let me adapt her photo into a quilt. The image it depicts is especially sentimental for her. The challenge for myself was to create a pieced pictorial background and recreate a traditionally pieced quilt by using my hand appliqué technique. The project size was overwhelming, but I'm thrilled with the finished quilt. So is Margo. Time to exhale.

Note: To be clear, that is not a photo with a quilt in it, that WHOLE THING is a quilt.

Best Machine Stationary Quilting

Title: Emerald labyrinth Maker: Kumiko Frydl Quilter: Kumiko Frydl Design Basis: Maker's Original Design As a starting point I used an image from the entrance to the EL Barkookeyeh Mosque in Cairo. Thinking of an elegant and intricate garden I added bursts of natural color and filled the area between the large elements of the design with finer ornament inspired by butterflies and plants. I set the circular image in a rectangular frame with a subdued complimentary design of rippled reflective pools.

1st Place: Animal

Title: Woodland Wilds Maker: Ann Horton Quilter: Ann Horton Design Basis: Maker's Original Design My morning hikes in the woodland hills of our northern California home inspired this quilt. The rabbits are always alert for danger. This machine appliqued, thread painted and embroidered view through a window is surrounded by wild flowers on hand dyed silk and again surrounded by other wild birds and animals. I love my wilds things in the woods!

1st Place: Human Image

Title: The Memories That Remain Maker: Lynn Czaban Quilter: Lynn Czaban Design Basis: Library of Congress Photos - LC-USF33-006183MI and LC-USF33-0061 I am fascinated by the human face and our ability to communicate without uttering a single word. The Portuguese word 'saudade' meaning a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for something or someone that one cares for and loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never be had again.

1st Place: Naturescape

Title: Desert In Spring Maker: Andrea Brokenshire Quilter: Andrea Brokenshire Design Basis: Maker's Original Design My Mom and I embarked on an epic travel trip we named our "Thelma and Louise Adventure" In Palm Springs, CA we visited the Living Desert Botanical Garden. This quilt is inspired by one of the photographs I took that spring day of a Prickly Pear Cactus in full bloom. I loved the leathery texture of the cactus leaves (paddles) and the almost translucent citron yellow blossoms.

2nd Place: Animal

itle: Not Today Maker: Kestrel Michaud Quilter: Kestrel Michaud Design Basis: Maker's Original Design The chase is on! The Roadrunner is after his next meal, chasing a Common Collared Lizard through a steampunk junkyard. The desert is a favored dumping ground for the detritus of progress, even in a fantasy world. A steam-powered industrial revolution creates iron refuse and pieces of broken machinery have been left to decay in dry desert air. That doesn’t bother these critters. To them, this is home. Will that lizard wind up as dinner? Not today!

2nd Place: Human Image

Title: Declaration of Independence - Voices of Freedom Maker: Nancy Prince Quilter: Terri Taylor Design Basis: Reproduction of John Trumbull's Painting The quilt is a reproduction of John Trumbull's painting which depicts the moment in history when the first draft of the Declaration of Independence was presented to the Second Continental Congress on June 28, 1776. The quilt front and back were created in Photoshop and custom printed on fabric. Four thousand hours over 4 years was necessary to create the quilt. The back captures the story of the Declaration and its signers.

Note: I'm not at all patriotic. But credit where credit is due. That's a fucking quilt.

3rd Place: Animal

Title: Midnight Flight Maker: Joanne Baeth Quilter: Joanne Baeth Design Basis: Maker's Original Design Several years ago we had an injured Great Horned Owl roosting in our willow tree during the day. I took several pictures and was inspired to create him in fabric. The background features a painted sky, old buildings, melting snow and a rabbit on the run The foreground is the swooping owl which was constructed by painting and inking each feather and thread painting over fabrics and needle punched wool rovings

3rd Place: Naturescape

Title: Day Into Night Maker: Deb Deaton Quilter: Deb Deaton Design Basis: Maker's Original Design Inspired from photo by Robert Murray with his permission. When the Arizona sun begins to set, the sky comes alive. I saw this photo and knew the splendor of this landscape needed to be captured with fiber! Sky is hand painted. Raw edge applique. Mixed media used: oil pastels, color pencils, inks to enhance the fabrics and create more dimension. Cheesecloth: painted to create spikes of cactus. Tulle used to capture the sunrays. Machine quilted.

Happy Stairways set

This new set is all about the space under the staircase ! With this new pack, you'll get two new staircases (one with pattern, and one without but with multiple painted colors or natural wood swatches), assorted railing and fences, and a modular shelving system that will go under. You can use both sides as standalone or against the wall, it will work however you place them. Along with it, multiple clutter to fill the shelves or the walls, among with new wallpaper and painted color walls. Everything to make a bright and cheerful staircase area !

Description

This set includes 24 new items, maxismatch, lowpoly & basegame compatible.

Build: Two stairs (one with natural woods and sisal carpeted pattern and one with natural sial but 26 color swatches), a railing and an assorted fence.

Wall: Seamless wallpaper with assorted painted wall.

Furnitures: 5 modular shelves, stackable to build the perfect understair.

Lighting: Ceramic wall light

Decor: Muddy adult and kid boots, umbrellas in wicker basket, sisal baskets, books (left & right), assorted sisal pattern rug, wall frames, potteries decoration

Plants: A hanging plant, a small fern and a flower vase bouquet.

❗Note: due to the shaders being different, the shelves and the stairs/railing will not be the EXACT same color depending on the swatch/hour of the day. I tried my best to fit them the closest I could... 😌
