Literally me struggling right now. 😢😭 Every day I'm trying but I haven't been ok. I can definitely relate to Anakin and what he has gone through. He felt like he was never good enough and everyone kept doubting him as a Jedi. That's what it just feels like with myself right now, and it feels like I'm not good enough for anything. I don't normally share about my mental health online especially , but sometimes I feel like I just want to know that someone is there to listen and a place where I don't feel alone💔

This may be an unpopular opinion but I truly believe there is a difference between adding diversity for publicity and adding diversity to actually show off different cultures.

Like, the recent Snow White live action movie, (which I am using as a bases on this because it is what sparked my wish to write about this) seems to be definitely trying to diverse by having a latina actor for the sake of publicity and not for actual diversity, which I really don't like, BUT don't get me wrong, I love diversity, I love learning about other cultures and getting to learn about people who are different from myself, but when it's just there to look good for the company and to look inclusive, really defeats the whole point of why adding diversity in media is a good thing, because the point of diversity, (At least I believe) is supposed to be showing off things beyond yourself, and letting you see into a different way of life that's different than your own, which is a thing that fantasy does with fictional concepts, these are interesting because it is something different to the things we are used too, diversity is like that BUT it is showing real-life things.

Disney, by just putting this for just for what feels like to just look good, really just makes it feel shallow and just to say "hey, look what we did.", If this was remixing the story Snow White, using familiarity using a subject matter we know but retelling it with, let say for example Hispanic cultural setting, since the girl playing the live action Snow White is latina (if “Hispanic” the wrong word to use, sorry, I've heard the term be used interchangeably/associatively by people from that heritage and I've also seen other people from that heritage say "No Latines and Hispanics are two different types of individuals" so I am sorry if "Hispanic" is the wrong term to use) then I wouldn't mind that because they are using a familiar story and being creative to show it off in a unfamiliar way, or if there is a hispanic version of a story that is like Snow White (I am not sure if there is, though I do know "Cinderella" has different versions of it in different cultures, though in the way I am meaning it, not as those retellings of it, but like those stories that have a similar plot, like their was, if my memory is correct, a Chinese story that follows the same concept of Cinderella, in this case I am referring to those type of variants) then I also wouldn't mind because we are seeing a different culture's version of the story, which I find cool!But as far as I know, this new Snow White isn't. I feel like if you're going to add diversity, make it meaningful not just make it feel it's just a white person with a different coat of paint, BECAUSE that takes away the beauty of diversity!

also, racebending is racist, though if you do it in a way to change the story, then it’s not, it’s just a remix of the original story. If they made the Little Mermaid Middle Eastern because the first recorded folktales of mermaids came from Assyria, then I will find that a very clever choice, and an interesting way to tell the story of the Little Mermaid using the folklore of the first stories of the mythical creature to put a new spin on it, which makes it cool and interesting, but just putting a new-skin on it and call it a day, doesn't add anything to it. If they retold the tale to make it more accurate to the original story, like I heard they did for Mulan, I wouldn't mind that because they are using the original source material of the chinese story to make something else different from the animated movie Mulan, it is very different from the animated movie, yes, but it's still the story of Mulan and they were still creative with it, so I find it an actual good retelling.

Diversity is good when you actually do it right and show things beyond oneself, Diversity isn't good if you are just doing it for show and basically putting a new skin on it NOR making it actually meaningful and introducing the audience to the beauty of different cultures and ideas they might not get to have the chance to see otherwise, defeats the whole purpose of having it!

this doesn't just apply to racial and cultural diversity, this can apply to the portrayal of disabilities, mental illnesses, different genders, and sexualities, these are things that make people different and unique, I like seeing that shown in media, but just tossing in there as an afterthought takes away the meaningfulness of it, if you can take it out and get the same story, then what's the point of adding it? Diversity is to show off differences and what makes them valuable and worth knowing, if it doesn't change anything, it just watering it down to just a quirk or aesthetic than an actual character trait, which feels patronizing.

There is NOTHING wrong with adding new viewpoints and expanding your view of the world, thus gaining knowledge to formulate better opinions on things, adding diversity just for publicity, is just like giving a person who only knows what exists inside of their own house and thinks that's all there is and painting their room a different color, instead of opening the front door to show them there is much more to the world than the confines of their home, give them the opportunity if they wish to explore it and learn more they can! Making it surface level robs people of this opportunity.

Tl:DR: Surface level diversity is NOT cool or exciting or neat, but patronizing at most, HOWEVER the deep and accurate actually meaningful diversity is, and that’s why diversity works when you show it off in a meaningful way, it opens doors to new perspectives and ideas that can help expand your view of the world, surface level stuff just paints the door a different color, but doesn’t open it at all.

I just binged Geek Girl on Netflix and honestly it's one of the best cheesy teen tv shows I've watched in a while. Harriet is 100% autistic and I see so much of myself in her!

Although yeah, obviously everything has a happy ending which is very unrealistic given the circumstances it was very fun to watch! I was invested and most importantly I really enjoyed all the character work!

Often in these kinds of shows, nobody other than the MC gets any development/exploration but we get a small slice of everyone's life in a way that doesn't feel infodumpy. Every character felt like a real person who had their own goals/objectives that didn't centre entirely around Harriet.

Anyway! If you enjoyed Julie and The Phantoms, or are in the mood for something silly and sweet I definitely reccomend! :D

You know what - as brutal as it sounds I wish they’d left bobby in a coma over hiatus - they still could’ve brought Gerrard back to captain the 118 etc but we could also have had a much better arc for bobby than him magically waking up and being alright and back to work 3 days later - picking up after hiatus a couple of weeks on from the episode end - the firefam struggling under Gerrard and seeing the firehouse regressing and Bobby waking up in 8x01 and recovering before trying to take back the 118 from 8x02 onwards would’ve been much more powerful and given the story time to breathe

safe to say, after he'd accidentally pulled you against him due to a reaction between the necklace on your bosom, the bracelets on your wrists, and the metal attracting device in his hand during a day of experimentation in the forest, there wasn't much stopping you both from developing a deeper interest.

ford was somewhat reserved, you weren't-- you liked singing karaoke at greasy's every Friday, and he couldn't be caught dead even attending such an establishment without either his brother or great niece and nephew, and Stanley would have to buy him fries if he wanted his brother to stay longer than ten minutes.

all these differences mattered little when he'd offhandedly mentioned Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons in a conversation with Dipper in front of you. after one game and a passionate screaming match between the two of you that reverberated through the mystery shack's floorboards, it was clear that a match had been made by the gods. even ford found himself unable to let you go from his mind when fall arrived and your lease had run out.

so, after some passive aggressive encouragement from Mabel on her grunkle's behalf, you stayed in your little rental in town. you took up some shifts at the mystery shack (stanley offered, not only for the extra help and lower than legal minimum wage, but also to watch with popcorn as his Sixer would grow red and all eager to discuss his latest discovery with you), and sometimes you even spent the night in his room.

it was all friendly at first, him offering a bed after you two spent the evening after playing Dungeons after his studies; it was nothing more than a sleepover, he'd tell himself! his thoughts couldn't defy the fact that his body burned to even consider sleeping nearby someone nearly a third of his age, as beautiful as you were.

(how he wasn't sheepish by those green shorts he wore to sleep, you had no clue. at least you liked the look of them when he wore them in the mornings, his hair all mussed with sleep and his glasses resting lazy on his nose.)

his bed was a twin size, too small to share between two grown adults, and he'd usually offered to sleep on the floor if you stayed overnight, even as the infatuation between you two grew obvious. No matter how tightly he would hold you close as you cuddled or how hungrily he could kiss you if you accidentally helped him with a discovery, he refused to sleep in his own damned bed, just because you were there.

until one night, he'd gotten the hint when you refused to let him go as he tried to slip away and lay on the floor.

he really got the hint when you straddled him instead of returning the stiff 'goodnight' he gave you.

the poor man's glasses had fogged up as he was fucked into next week by you.

such was the life of ford for the next few months or so, and time even came where he'd felt jealous on the nights you weren't asleep next to him.

one evening came where you weren't with him, for he'd been too busy with his work to chat. it was no big deal, not for you-- you already had felt rather drained, so it would be a peaceful night in for once. you were excited to crack open a beer, and watch some old reruns of the golden girls, anyway.

as soon as you'd flicked off the bottle cap of the beer, your nose wrinkled-- was something in the fridge bad? did a animal shit right outside your damn front door? you sniffed around till you leaned close to the fresh beverage in your hand-- and you gagged violently before dropping the glass in a panic. now there was glass and beer all over your tile!

what the fuck just happened!

you'd thought the beer had somehow went bad with such a vile smell that emanated from it, and you'd plan to give stanley the rest of the twelve pack when you saw him the next day. whether he'd drink it himself or sell it off as some sort of evil potion, you didn't care.

you tried to move on after cleaning up the mess, making some popcorn and finding almost an exact same reaction-- except this time, you did end up puking into the bowl when your senses became overwhelmed with the scent and buttery taste all at once. the better question now showed itself-- what was going on with you? How had you suddenly lost all taste for the things you loved to consume?

Later that evening, you could only seethe as Stan cracked open and drank one of your precious beers with a healthy chug, an echoed belch following you through the hallways to Stanford's office so loudly that you couldn't help but get pissed off. what a waste of perfectly good beer on that old con!

you went to ford about your concerns, even he was confused by such a reaction-- so of course, now you were sitting on his desk as he scrutinized you heavily. you'd given samples of your nail trimmings and had your armpits examined, but you trusted that your eccentric older boyfriend knew what he was doing.

"there's no tautness of skin...hmm... your palate remains the same..." He was busy muttering to himself, ignoring any actual question you made to his low words, and he turned away to look through his drawers again. He paced around from desk to desk in his lab, but Ford was finally returning to stand before you after a few minutes of scrounging.

"it could very well be a leech or some bug from swimming in that putrid lake! If you'll allow me to obtain a full body scan, I'll check to see if all is in order."

With a raise of his hand, you could see Ford had brought out this weird device that looked more like a gun than anything from your perspective. of course you shrieked and tried to dodge the end of it that was pointed at you. "hey, hey hey HEY!"

Pausing with a confused stare, the poor man was more caught off guard than anything as he watched you flail and shriek, but he was resting the object aside as he tried to calm you down.

"heavens above, y/n! its a wireless X-ray gun! it's harmless, it cant even emit radiation! sit down!" his voice boomed, more annoyed that you would think he'd hurt you than being willing to calm your sudden shock. you sat back on the counter, more shaken than annoyed or fearful, and pondering quietly as he pointed the thing first at the top of your head-- he could see the results from his perspective as he scanned over the expanse of your form.

his brows furrowed once he passed over your head, neck and arms to see nothing. he murmured and cursed to himself one more, and you were more interested in how he'd made such a device like the one scanning you now. he slowly guided the gun down your midriff, frustrated that nothing seemed to be showing itself off out of the ordinary.

"I don't understand. Nothing is--" The very moment the machine trailed over your stomach and lower half, his hand paused, and Stanford's eyes got big.

It was small, but the eyes of a scientist like him knew when he was staring at a fetus or not. It was so little, so new, but it was resting serenely inside you.

by the gods, after the last thirty years of trekking dimensions and surviving battles against demons, how did the topic of his own fertility be the last thing on his mind whilst he had been pumping you full of seed almost weekly?

From your perspective, it was humorous to see his glasses slightly dramatize how big his stare became-- you found yourself panicked the longer he remained still and said nothing about what he was very clearly looking at inside you.

"Christ! Do I have an egg or something inside me?! Let me see, Ford!"

"NO! No, no, y-you're fine!" No longer lost in shock, he yanked back the x-ray gun as you reached out for it, more panicked than anything in that moment and already very sensitive about his inventions. Even as he reassured you all was well, the look on Stanford's face didn't seem to appease you. He was shocked at whatever he saw.

"You're not making me feel any better, Ford. Can you let me see the reading?"

"i... it cant capture an image, i-it just exposes what ever is in front of it."

Ford was still being too quiet for you to stand.

"Ford, you're being dramatic! If I'm fine, then what is with this weird silent treatment? What, is there a baby or something?" You try to laugh off his fearful gaze with your ironic statement, but Ford wasn't laughing with you. As a matter of fact, that stunned stare was turning in to something more soft at your words-- more of a puppy dog's pleading gaze.

"You... happen to have a more enlarged uterus than normal?"

you both stare at one another for a long minute. ford isn't uncomfortable with the news discovered by some awry invention of his, but he's watching you closely for any sense of negative response. he's slightly even praying that you'll just smile and give him a hug with the happy news.

you burst into tears, and ford is in panic to start hugging you close once its clear you're in need his support. you hold him close, getting his jacket wet with your tears, finally calming yourself into an unsteady silence that is more familiar to you two both.

You look up at him, and you smile.

Ford smiles back, and he can feel his heart grow so warm he thinks he might start bawling with you at any moment.

"If my assumptions are correct, we've got eight months to have Mabel plan the perfect baby shower."

Thoughts on episode 13 cuz i forgot to post earlier :P

This is so late lol, its a collection of my thoughts and ramblings.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! So much happened in this episode!!!!!

Levi is a murder and doesn't care for other people.

Ok, so I didn't see this coming even though there were a lot of hints. I just always thought he was bad at picking up on social cues and dealing with intense people like Ace, which I guess is still true just in a stronger way. The fact that his whole gentle and mild mannered act was fake is a little sad cuz I liked his fake persona, but I think him faking being nice is a cool twist. Although this does change the way I like characterized his previous actions in my head, I think that the new drama and angst it adds is really intresting!!!!! :D

2. Acevi getting torn to shreds ToT.

Every acevi shipper is like crying cuz of this rn, and I am too, even though I knew it was probably never gonna be canon. But I don't think its completely dead cuz Ace kinda implies one sided acevi might have existed during chapter 1.

3. Acevi Angst!!!! One sided Acevi!!! ToT

Ok so this made mee screeam!!!! The angst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We finally get Ace angst!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what I've been waiting for since chapter 1!!!!!!!!! Acevi angst!! It hurts so much to see that deep down ace did really care about Levi ToT. Ace's sprite looks sooooo good!!!!!!! (Also this is so gay and i luv it).

4. Ace seems to mention his friend from the Q&A.

Ok so it looks like Ace mentions his friend from the Q&A that I forgot the name of lol. But here he says it would be "an insult to his memory" which to me, implies that his friend is dead, or atleast not his friend anymore. I can't wait for the angst!!!!!!

5. Hu and Veronika's secrets

Most people predicted the secrets correctly, it is sad :(. But its good that it seems that Hu has grown and seems to be in a healthier place. But I am also a little scared cuz Hu might be the killer and she is getting a lot of screentime and moments were she girlbosses.

6. Teruko's secret...

I believe that this is not Teruko's real secret as it seems like it's obviously about Xander. I think that David used this as a trap or something to try and get more information out of Teruko, which is why I think he made that evil face. I'm not sure how David knew that Min's clue was Xander's, maybe he told David in private in chapter 1? But Teruko's belief that this is her secret is interesting...

So, even though I don't think this is Teruko's secret, the fact that she thought it was means that she feels like the death of her family was her fault, likely because of her luck. But the most interesting part of this for me is the fact that the secret mentions the death of Teruko/Xander's parents and siblings. This kind of implies that Teruko might have been lying about her brother being alive, or she believes that he died after he got adopted. And yes, this could be a coincidence but the specific phrasing of "parents and siblings" seems like it was meant to imply this since it could have been phrased as family instead. But obviously this could also be a coincidence, especially since it also says siblings, and Teruko claims she only has one so Idk, its up to u whether u think its a coincidence or not.

7. WHY R THEY DOING THIS TO MY HEART!!!!!!!!!  😭😭😭

Arei's scene with David was so sad and so wholesome!!!! It literally made me so sad, I got so scared when she said that she was a bad person but then what she said about them being imperfect together cuz perfect people don't exist is soooo wholesome. This is extra cute cuz her whole arc was about being scared to be vulnerable around people but she was willing to be honest and kind with David even after she knew he was a liar. Also the next thought...

8. WHAT THE HECK EDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I literally screamed when I saw this, I was so shocked, draw dropped. And I didn't even notice the fork thing, I thought it was a wrench until I went to tumblr and saw everyone talking about the fork and xander connections!!!!!!! THis is crazy!! Eden what happened!?!

In more seriousness, since I believe Teruko's secret is about her being the reason for the killing game and who appears like Xander says all this stuff in episode 1, I wonder what happened. Did Teruko accidentally cause the killing game and Eden tried protecting Teruko from Xander, or were Teruko and Eden like evil/manipulative. I have no idea, I also don't know who was the one telling Xander to kill Teruko. (The phrasing of "end the killing game" could imply that they were in a previous killing game, but I think that's probably me reading too much into it since he's probably just trying to end it before it starts.)

Anyways I'm so interested in what Eden did since she is one of the kindest characters, and that was one of the best twists in Drdt.

9. Why is Whit so upbeat and why does he know so much about hanging?!?!

Whit is always upbeat during trials, he even made a joke about Min's execution earlier in chapter 2. I understand that its probably cuz he's comic relief and its probably a coping mechanism for all the death but it is still kinda suspicious. He also knows a lot about breaking necks through hanging like Veronika, so that's either sad or suspicious. Anyways I don't think he is the killer but I know some people think he could be the mastermind and yeah is kind of suspicious. But based on what he said in episode 7 in the movie room about Teruko grieving its probably just a coping mechanism.

10. Nico!?!?

Ok, so I don't think that Nico is actually the killer, especially since there would probably one of those selection screen thingies. But I know that a lot of people suspect that Hu assisted with Nico's murder attempt because Nico used a wire while Hu's special weapon was a wire. (I'm obviously not the first to say this I saw people talk about a bunch of months ago). This kinda makes me think that Hu could be the killer since she could have helped Nico plan the murder and she could have reused the methods for Arei's murder. Hu was also the most reluctant to give up her secret, so if she wanted to keep her secret safe she could have committed the murder. Hu does have an alibi but it is with Nico in private. (Also now after the time reveal it may not have to do with the secrets since it was the morning after). Also I don't think Hu was the one who actually tried to kill Ace because Nico admits to it in part 1 of chapter 2, and that would also kinda takeaway from Nico's agency and possible character arc and stuff. Anyways I kinda hope it isn't Hu cuz she ate David up last episode and I don't want her to die.

Yeah playing the underdog in the fastest car doesn't work. Like no one gives a fuck, they see you have the fastest car and have been unable to maximize shit for half the races this season. It's laughable.

And don't get me started, I still want to challenge the Baku results bare minimum. It think it's pretty easy to know which races that wing, which has been deemed illegal affected. If not, to me that's a DSQ from the WCC again as those results impact it as well.

But no, British bias is the root of all our problems this season on top of the FIA missing a whole spine.
