Ignacio “Nacho” Salamanca
When Nacho chooses Lalo he slips back more into his season 1 persona. Back to being more cold-blooded, back to being more sarcastic. He figures in for a penny in for a pound, he's lost his soul already, he might as well burn down everything he was.
There is a part of him when he stares in the mirror that sees his father's son and when Lalo asks him to marry him Nacho wants to cut out that part and bury it in the earth. Bury the part that whispers that Lalo is a different kind of monster from him. True evil while he himself is just a ghost. That's when he decides to embrace everything Salamanca.
His first tattoo is the blue flower on his neck, a reminder that he nearly died for his betrayal of the Salamancas. Then two rattlesnakes biting the flower from either side, he and Lalo eating what might have been the end but instead became a new beginning. A lucky poker chip on his neck. A pill to remind him that drugs built the world in which he lived. Fire running up one arm so that every time he fired a shot it was set alight. Petrol tattooed up the other. Lalo thinks the petrol is fuel for the flames and Nacho does not disabuse him of this idea. In actuality, it is to remind him he will never be clean in this life - never able to expunge his acts. The owl across his ribcage is an agent of Santa Muerte, Lalo's patron saint. He got it the day after Lalo gave him his necklace "for protection" Lalo had whispered against his skin.
Lalo traces the lines of the tattoos, kisses the colours and does not worry about the part Nacho has buried beneath.
Image Description: Nacho Salamanca is sitting on a wooden stool against a wall in Lalo's Hacienda. He's leaning back letting his legs hang wide his right arm casually hanging between them and holding a gun. He is shirtless and shoeless wearing only an expensive pair of navy pinstriped pants. His upper body is covered in the tattoos described above. His face is serious, slightly threatening. Perhaps Lalo is entertaining a cartel don with breakfast while Nacho sits and watches silently, though protectively, off to the side.

Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad - L x N x J Headcanons:
I feel like if Lalo, Nacho, and Jesse were more than just a one time fling:
Jesse at first might be a little intimidated by Lalo
Out of them, Lalo and Jesse might actually team up in their antics with Nacho, maybe? (They drag Nacho out to go with them to play games or something.) Especially if they're all smoking pot or something.
Nacho and Lalo keeping Jesse out of the conversation by speaking Spanish, especially when they don't want to tell him something yet
Lalo cooking dinner for the three of them and Jesse has a whole bunch of questions and won't shut up. Which annoys Nacho to no end, but Lalo just laughs
The three of them playing video games together (Such as Jesse insisting they play GTA: San Andreas, and Nacho is just like "Why? You can basically just step outside?")
Them all playing Poker, of course :p
In the winter, Jesse snuggling up with Nacho and Lalo on the couch because he got too cold

He looks at his wrist, at the leather bracelet and the wooden cross with the crucified Jesus on it digging into his skin. It’s the only worthless piece of jewelry he ever wore, Lalo kept teasing him about it. Called him mi Jesúsito personal as Lalo went down on him. Asked if he had been sent from Heaven to absolve him as he fucked him. Told him Jesus was a pawn, a decoy, a sacrifice as he devoured him; but his Nachito was better than that, wasn’t he? So why don’t you just take it off?
The bracelet was a gift from his father; it didn’t have any meaning beyond the comfort and the sense of calm it brought him. Nacho told Lalo he got it from the corpse of a man he strangled to death who wouldn’t just shut up during sex. Lalo laughed, took his words for it as he always did and called him mi paraíso lindo as he plowed him.

more BCS headcanons, but this time I wrote them in the time between taking a melatonin and falling asleep
Kim has a butterfly tattoo. It’s quite small and discreet enough that hardly anyone knows she actually has a tattoo in the first place. Possibly regrets it now, but again it’s small and hidden from most so maybe not? May be in her favorite color/black and white but she definitely got the tattoo during her early college years and you can’t convince me otherwise.
After a particularly heated shouting match with Chuck at HHM, Jimmy all but sprinted down the stairs to leave the building only to trip, miss the last several stairs, and wipe out on the ground floor (the lobby was packed). He only ended up with a few bruises, but the sheer embarrassment of the situation was enough to keep him away from the office for well over a month.
Nacho’s girlfriends have definitely painted his nails and he almost always “forgets” to take off the polish before business with the cartel (they always pick such nice colors and he can't bring himself to wipe it off). No one ever makes fun of him for it but no one compliments him, either.
Lalo is a Modelo man through and through. There is not a single other beer he will drink, and he’s tried plenty of them. One sip of Corona (despite being a product related to Modelo) and he spit it out immediately. While at a restaurant, the waiter offered him a Bud Light with lime as their take on Mexican beer, to which Lalo only laughed and opted for water.
Said waiter hasn’t been seen in months, but Lalo swears it was because of more than just the beer, writing it off as something about “bad tableside manners.”
Pairing with his love of being out in nature, Howard is an unapologetic animal lover. He’ll strike up conversations with dog walkers on the street just for a chance to pet their dogs and has been known to greet any stray cat in downtown Albuquerque that’ll let him. There are a number of bird feeders and bat houses are scattered around his yard and, more than once, he’s picked nuts and seeds from a bag of trail mix for the squirrels that linger around HHM to prevent them from getting sick from eating old sandwiches or salads out of the trash cans.

Odd question but do you have any "weird" headcanons for the Salamancas??? Just like odd, random habits you think they have. Just the most random things bc I'm a sucker for my boys 😌
I feel like Lalo eats Princesa's food all the time. Yes, he feeds her - and he always feeds her his plate, cause he's cool like that. But also, Princesa buys her own snacks all of the time and then it just...disappears. Or the bag feels a little more empty. She knows it's Lalo, which is fine. Princesa just doesn't understand why Lalo always lies about it. He does, so she'll ask him if it's Nacho that's been taking snacks he thinks are for everyone, which in turn makes Lalo mad at the idea Nacho is eating his girl's snacks. He's not. I don't know why he thought of that. And Princesa will catch him watching Alien movies sometimes.
Marco loves his red underwear. Loves. Leonel? Not so much, but they usually have to match in every aspect, so he takes to wearing red undies from time to time. Leonel also bites his nails and likes the endings poke his tongue. Marco think it's disgusting.
Tuco usually orders the sweetest thing on the menu when he's with Cielito. He'll eat something meaty, savory. Full of that soft of manliness. He might be using his girl to go ahead and order a sweet, pastel colored desert after dinner. If they're ordering drinks, he orders the sweetest thing. He doesn't need coffee, he has coke, but sweet cream cold foam has his ass locked in. Cielito thinks it's cute.

Some more random headcanons, cuz why not?
Some of them appear in my fics, others are just rattling around in my brain lol.
Lacho:
Nacho learned how to modify cars from his dad's friend Raul, who he also developed a crush on as a teenager. Which is how he realized he has a Thing for older men. (His Daddy Issues are obvious. But also, he just thinks older guys are hot, ok? leave him alone). Lalo's love of cars is a passion they share and something they genuinely bond over. It now means that Lalo is also tangled up in associations with his first older man crush. Which could mean nothing...
Nacho speaks Spanish, but pretty much only at home with his Papa or with customers at A-Z. He doesn't really know any Mexico-specific slang. And he kind of talks like an old man in Spanish, because he's used to speaking with his Papa and acting as his English translator. Tuco and Lalo of course bully him for this.
Lalo's mother is a Caucasian American who was a model and actress. She didn't really approve of her husband's cartel career, but preferred to turn a blind eye. His parents were killed at his cousin Aurelia's (sister of Marco and Leonel) funeral [[shout out to @el-michoacano for creating Aurelia! Sorry I stole her for my headcanons haha]]
Random, but: Tuco's sister's name is Soledad, nickname Sole. She met Gonzo at a lowrider convention and she also enjoys souping up and racing cars. Abuelita Salamanca's name is Serafina, but she either goes by Sera or just accepts that Nacho and everyone else in the cartel is going to call her Dona Sera. She was a fearsome Dona (sorry no tilda!) in her time, but as an older woman, she became more religious and is in denial over her beloved grand children and son Hector's criminal activities. Nacho's mom was Gloria---a waitress in Galeana who danced folklorico competitvely, which is how she met Manuel at a competiton in Zacatecas. In the US, she managed the books for A-Z, because although she only attended school through 11th grade, she has a natural proclivity for math. ((We really needed more women in the cartel/Lacho side of the story, ok?!))
GusMax
While they both grew up poor and often hungry, Max's response to hunger is to overindulge and eat as much as he can when it's available. He had a food hoarding problem, hiding food under his bed and around the house as a kid, but he outgrew it with some help from Gustavo during university; meanwhile, Gustavo's response to hunger was to conserve food and ration to make it last as long as possible
Gustavo doesn't really enjoy cooking, but he is technically skilled at it and he does it to impress or intimidate people (like when he had Walt over for dinner) or to honor the memory of Max or his family members in Chile. He really only enjoys making specific dishes like his mother's Paila Marina or Max's favorites like pollo arvejado stew.
Max was originally planning to go into pharmaceuticals after studying chemistry, but he and Gustavo figured that making a fortune with meth first would be faster and he could always go legitimate afterwards
Ok that's enough for now :3

lalo salamanca headcanons
He's a black-hearted asshole. It's an important core aspect of his character and it can't be ignored.
He has a dead sibling. My HC is a dead sister who got married and then her husband killed her. Death lives cheek by jowl in the Salamanca family. There's a reason for those empty spaces.
He wasn't born with severe antisocial tendencies, and a naturally extroverted personality made him more open to experiences than some of his more rigid relatives. The rot set in to the idealism early, maybe 7 or 8 years old. I actually see the twins grappling with suppressing their feelings more than Lalo - he's the perfect adaptable boy-Prince that adapts to suit the family, and never really took the time to build anything under that veneer. He takes information in purely to benefit himself or benefit his family. The emotionality and empathy has been stripped away. This is a DARK character.
One of the roles he's tried on that he's put a little more into is the benefactor role to the peasants that live on/or near his estate, in fact most of the underlings associated with the Salamanca holdings. It reinforces to Lalo a sense of benevolence, which at its core is still basically transactional. The people under him have no choice to do what they do. It's the performance of helping them out that makes Lalo feel good about himself.
He was absolutely going to murder Kim when Jimmy left. That whole speech about the people the assassins killed at his hacienda reeked of a tit-for-tat situation. He no longer trusted Jimmy at all so he had no further utility to him as a lawyer. He was going to kill Jimmy's wife as punishment for that, torture the truth out of Jimmy when he returned from the laundrette, and then kill him.
Lalo's blue shoes tie into what I mentioned about him having an attachment to being seen as perfect/a benefactor/on the "right" side of things. Blue = personal law in BCS. Lalo never does anything that doesn't benefit himself or his family, so he always sees himself as following the correct path. He feels 100% justified in his sabotage mission against Gus, and then in the atrocities he commits in attempting to come back and bring him up in front of Eladio. He would actually feel morally angry at the implication any of that wasn't right - you protect yourself and you protect your family. In his eyes, he's bringing a liar and a traitor to justice, a snake who is attempting to bring down their cartel from the inside. In that respect, Lalo has a parallel with the most unlikeliest of BCS characters - Chuck McGill.
The insomnia is the barest of brush strokes that imply Lalo's possible ambivalence about the life he was born into. Gilligould have notoriously not given the characters of colour much contextual depth at all outside of roles that serve the cartel story, and Lalo is no exception, but I still think it was the barest of indicators of another story being played out there. Like Howard Hamlin dissuaded early on from putting up his own shingle and making an identity for himself outside of what his father expected of him, Lalo, neck deep in the lifetime role of cartel Prince, may have felt the twingings of his own destiny being held away from him. TDalton's comments about Lalo believing he could die at any point has an interesting, nihilistic extension here - so why bother?
He's a Hufflepuff. His people, his group, and himself above all. Duty, discipline, and "fairness" - all Puff traits. His contempt for Slytherin Gus is for Gus's refusal to accept his position and bend the knee - he sees Gus's strident individualism as selfish, in comparison to his own lifelong commitment to his family and the cartel. On the positive side, he can do a surface level cohesion with groups, some performative actions of good on behalf of the group(s) he identifies with, and skilfully takes Nacho and sends him up to the boss. There's a reason old ladies seem to adore Lalo - he, in an entirely selfish sense, works within the group.

Lacho nsfw headcannons? Obsessed with your fics man so I gotta hear it.
hmmm let's see... headcanons, headcanons... I always get nervouse(TM) when someone asks me for general headcanons tbh bc they change so much depending on what universe I'm writing for and whatnot, but, broadly, let me try to gather some:
Lalo is a domtop in most cases, but something about Nacho makes him want to switch to sub/bottom sometimes. not all the time! but sometimes, damn, the way that boy scowls at him? the eye rolls? the MUSCLES? yes hello operator he wants that sexy man to hold him down and slap him around and have his way with him thanks
I like to think Nacho never did anything with a man before Lalo (or maybe he just fooled around lightly with Domingo years ago for experimentation's sake). Lalo is such a bitch, making him find his prostate and all, what an ASSHOLE showing him the pleasures of male/male intercourse
Nacho would start off being absolute trash at bjs. just the worst. gagging and spitting up all over the place. whining about it. total baby. don't even get him STARTED on when Lalo wants to cum in or around his mouth. no!!!!!!! (Lalo just gets more turned on by how much Nacho hates it, he will make that boy a cockslut eventually he swears)
Lalo, meanwhile, to bring it back a bit, has EXTENSIVE experience with men. just so much. he's a Salamanca prince, he does what he wants! him being gay (or bi, depending on the universe I'm writing) is just an open secret in the cartel. the Salamancas are too powerful for anyone to call him on it. he doesn't flaunt it TOO openly, but he doesn't really try that hard to hide it, either. and if anyone complains too much, he fucks them until the resulting earth-shattering prostate orgasm scrambles their brains enough to keep them from doing anything about it
Nacho is so tsundere he pretends he doesn't want it but he wants it SO bad. so bad. Lalo turned him into a faggot what a DOUCHEBAG omg!!! (Lalo loves how bitchy Nacho is, he thinks it's so cute he still tries to deny himself, hee hee)
Nacho is really sensitive on his pierced ear. Lalo likes to take advantage.
Lalo kissy his scars kissy kissy you take bullets so good for the Salamancas good boy
Lalo on that note is REALLY obsessed with "making Nacho a Salamanca" and will talk about their wedding during sex or breeding Nacho (even if they're both cis men) and Nacho has no idea what to do because it weirds him OUT but turns him on, he hates you Lalo but please don't stop dirty talking him while you dick him down
they do really rough play. cnc, breathplay, edgeplay. they both love it. Nacho kinda hates himself afterwards sometimes, Lalo never does. he comforts Nacho about giving in to his darker desires
WHEW ok is that good for y'all? are u not entertained? IS THAT NOT WHY U ARE HERE???????? jk jk thanks for coming to my TED talk

Heyy! I have request ...I'm missing Lalo ..maybe Tony Dalton too much lately...I always wondered what would've happened if lalo was alive instead of gus and what would've happened in BB...I'm most curious about dynamic between jesse and lalo because in my opinion jesse would've been next nacho..lalo would like him but with Walter he will make use of his abilities and the moment he thinks walter is no use or he is too much too handle for Walter' rash decisions and paranoia lalo will kill him...
So I'm curious about jesse and lalo relationship so can I request you to write headcanon??!🙈
Lalo and Jesse relationship headcannons:
This one was a bit tricky for me but here's what I think
Lalo is a very unpredictable at times but he remains calm and collective unlike his hot-headed cousin Tuco
Lalo would certainly be impressed by the word on the street about ‘blue crystal’ and within his power he would quickly find whoever cooked it
Jesse would be intimidated by him at first
I expect him to accept Jesse with open arms once he gets to know him.
From Jesse’s perspective Lalo seems like a ‘cool guy’ who is more than willing to conduct business with him
Walter would suspect Lalo as a threat in terms of him being a Salamanca and Jesse would try to convince him to give Lalo a chance’
Given that Walter and Jesse’s relationship is unstable Jesse would seek to Lalo for reassurance and would become his right-hand man.
Lalo would think Jesse ‘is good for a lot of things’ and confide in him to teach him about the ‘blue stuff’
Lalo would favour Jesse more than Walter because he’s easier to manipulate
With their mutual agreement on how erratic Tuco is they would start to form a sort of friendship ‘he’s a hot head no?’ Lalo would chuckle
Walter would grow to dislike Lalo even more for taking Jesse away from him.
Knowing how the Salamancas are on top of the chain Jesse would like the idea of ‘being closer to a Salamanca’ as Lalo would put it.
Over time Jesse would thrive on being feared and powerful amongst the streets for just simply being Lalo’s right-hand man
Lalo would become paranoid about Walter’s ambitions to take over his own supply.
He would probably use Jesse against Walter to drive him off course and see he has no choice but to work for him
Being the stalker, he is Lalo would compile information even visiting unannounced to Walter and Jesse’s homes to ‘check-up’ on them
I don’t think he would kill Jesse but most likely kill Walter if he gets too ‘out of hand’

Just a few musings - I know you’ve mentioned the headcanon (supported by Tony Dalton himself) that Lalo was expected to be the educated Salamanca and went to university in the States, but how do you think he felt about it? While he’s clearly a very intelligent man he doesn’t strike me as the conventionally academic sort and I can see him spending all his college years socialises at the expense of his studies. I especially like the idea that as part of his well rounded education he was expected to learn multiple languages but with the exception of English (since as you mentioned his mum might have been American) he never picked up one. But he probably still breaks into nonsense French or Latin any time he wants to sound smart.
You can definitely argue that - this is one of those issues that's really on the outside of canon because we don't know enough about Lalo to know how he would feel about school. It's possible he didn't take it seriously - I mean, he doesn't seem to take anything that seriously, not even getting shot in the throat. I hadn't considered the idea that he was chosen by the family to be the one who got an education, which I really like - there's a lot of potential there.
But my highly personal head canon (to be taken with a grain of salt!) is that he did well in school. I also think he wanted to go and went to school in spite of the Salamancas. Salamancas don't seem big on strategy - it's all brute force with them, "Salamanca muscle." I'm not sure if they'd value a college education, particularly since it would involve Lalo being away for several years when he could be learning the drug trade. (But again, I could definitely be talked into the idea that the family realized that by some miracle, they somehow got a Smart kid, and decided to make the most of it by sending him to get some book learnin'.)
So I think he wanted to go, either for himself or to please his gringa mother who wanted him to have some connection with the US. And maybe it was a mildly rebellious thing for him to do - like, if you're from a family of criminals, doing something respectable is the way you'd thumb your nose at your family.
As for partying, while Lalo doesn't shy away from it, he really seems happiest when he has something to puzzle over. He's charming at Eladio's party, but that's wheeling and dealing more than him enjoying himself. He plays poker with his underlings, but that seemed more like a way to get to know who he was working with (like how he christens Ocho Loco - it was more interesting for him to learn about the kind of guy Domingo was than it was for him to win). He also loves to drive fast cars, like when he has Nacho take him to the track, but I get the sense that the real fun for him is tinkering around with the engine, which is more about fixing a problem than an adrenaline rush.
The moments he really seems to be enjoying himself, to me, are when he's doing his detective work. Look at the whole "Werner Ziiiieegler" scene in 5x01 - his whole "what's he up to, man? What's he doing?" doesn't seem frustrated to me - he's got a big smile on his face, excited the game is afoot. This doesn't necessarily mean that he'd like school, but to me it shows that he's more of a brainy guy than a party boy like Tuco.
I've said before that I think of him as a Classics major, because I think he would identify with the larger-than-life figures and bloody history, but also the philosophy. Because I think philosophy would also be a good major for him (and uh, it's actually going to come up later in my current Lacho WIP 👀). I like this idea because you can work Tony's yin-yang tattoo into Lalo's character if he has an interest in philosophical traditions. (I think I'll make a separate post about Lalo and philosophy because this is already so long, as usual lol)

This post is so interesting to me cause my mind, no joke, fully erased all his neutral deeds. Like I had a false memory that he for sure killed the immigrants and Margarethe, but like you're obviously correct he didn't. He's so often portrayed as the Salamanca wearing the human suit most convincingly, but idk I think this one may be the Salamanca feeling the human suit most frighteningly. Literally to his detriment with Nacho (even if you don't read the relationship as romantic). The seeds they planted that make you give a fuck about this evil fuck are most obviously his charisma and normal person riz, his "seeming normalcy"! But most importantly I think, what makes you genuinely care is that he's just pretending to be a silly little guy having fun to the point where he let's it affect him! Like is he fully pretending or is he trying something on he can't wear otherwise? Like he's not all that in control. Like maybe Kim pointed not only to an insecurity but a deep seated desire for him to have normal people bonds. So he throws himself at the first person in his radius he has deemed most human, and it's obviously Nacho. Throws caution to the wind, takes him to his house, tries to reassure him, comfort him, host him. That sudden trip reeks desperation. It's not like Nacho is that convincing, this is a massive lapse in judgement. He's for sure rationalising it as strategy but during their moment in the firepit, he's attempting real connection. I think to a degree he may be envious of Nacho, look up to him even, for his genuine humanity. He's trying to have that kind of person close so he can maybe feel less alone. Feel like what he wants to be can work in this environment. Which makes us watching him eat absolute grass in "something unforgivable" all the more devestating. We see him be punished for craving something real and then reverting fully into what is demanded of him by the cartel, and in a meta way, by the show. But then again he doesn't kill Margarethe. He's still there, even after his absolutely embarrassing failure at being a human being (at least he would perceive it a such seeing as the only world he knows is the cartel, although I have my headcanons that say otherwise). Idk maybe I'm just a Lalo apologist, maybe I'm reading too much into it, maybe it's Tony's fault, idk guys!
Quick summary: Lalo pretending to be normal points to him genuinely wanting that and not knowing how to perform it beside a surface level (I've been watching too much Barry guys help)
Tumblr media
I wonder who are these women? His aunts? Maybe one of them is his mother? The lady on the right looks at him with as much pride as a loving mother could.

CHARACTER ASK MEME
favorite thing about them: hm. i thought his attitude towards authority/control has always been interesting, even before season three when he’s forced to keep working for the salamancas. it’s clear he doesn’t like to be told what to do (see mike and the baseball cards) and his reluctant but forced cooperation has been fascinating to watch, even if sometimes it’s only over a missing twenty LMAO
least favorite thing about them: his unwillingness/inability to listen to his father’s pleas to turn himself in if he really wants out of the cartel life. i think that’s what frustrated me the most about his death - not that i think he took the coward’s way out or anything, but it certainly didn’t have to be that way. he knew (most likely, this is just reasoning) from the beginning that getting into the drug trade would put anyone within his circle at risk, even if just theoretically, then when his father’s life was finally used as blackmail against him, it seemed like the show made it so that his death was the ultimate sacrifice when truly it was just nacho reaping what he’d sown. and it is yet to be seen if his ““sacrifice”” really does keep his father safe (after years of his only son and child giving him grief for being in the life to begin with).
three things i have in common with them: short, mean, in love with lalo salamanca
forrealsies though we both have very complicated relationships with our father, i also have a weird thing with being told what to do (esp if i feel like my hand is being forced), and i’d also hire a hit man to kill the psychopathic cartel drug dealer who almost killed with a shot gun
three things i don’t have in common with them: i would Not bring the fucking head honcho cartel leader i just tried to off with spiked pills to my father’s auto body shop and then get annoyed at him for being rightfully angry with me. definitely not his best and brightest moment. also probably would have switched the shit back when mike told me to instead of hastily trying to pour them down a sewer. he is somehow so smart and very stupid.
favorite line: “you think of me” soooo sexy the way michael delivered that line switched a few neuron pathways in my brain
brOTP: nacho and mike love u forever kings
OTP: i feel obligated to say lacho but i think it would be funny if i said nacho and gus
nOTP: didn’t really vibe with his like polycule relationship with amber and jo. narratively it’s sure whatever but idk. icky.
random headcanon: big fan of sean paul. owns a dutty rock cd that he listens to when he’s alone in the car
unpopular opinion: some of his shirts are so, so ugly
song i associate with them: man in the box - alice in chains
favorite picture of them: this one

Lalo Salamanca
ty ❤ Sexuality Headcanon: gay and not exactly hiding it, it’s just sort of an open but unspoken “secret” in the cartel. Gender Headcanon: not set on anything and open for all kinds of hcs! A ship I have with said character: Lacho nation ❤ A BROTP I have with said character: Lalo/his family, I especially love his close, loving relationship to Hector and I’d kill for Lalo interacting with the cousins! They’re good boys. A NOTP I have with said character: Lalo/Kim really isn’t me cup of tea. A random headcanon: Lalo used to smoke at least half a pack of cigarettes a day in his 20s but broke the habit eventually, that’s one of the reasons he has the habit of eating snacks. General Opinion over said character: Lalo is the best thing to come out of season 5, and I adore him so much he made it able to overlook a lot of grievances I have with season 5. He’s tons of fun and the kind of character that’ll stay with me! Gonna answer your other ask for Nacho Varga here, too: Sexuality Headcanon: gay or bi, both is good. Gender Headcanon: trans man Nacho is dear to my heart. A ship I have with said character: Lacho, of course! But to change things up: Nacho/all the Salamancas. Also Nacho/Domingo. A BROTP I have with said character: Again, him and Domingo. I also love the weird relationship he has with Amber and Jo, though it probably doesn’t count as BroTP. Same goes for his difficult relationship to his father. A NOTP I have with said character: Nothing, really? Closest thing I can think of is that I really don’t see why people think Nacho and Jesse would be friends. A random headcanon: Nacho used to fool around with Domingo when they were younger, but remained oblivious to the fact that he’s actually into Domingo for probably most of his life. General Opinion over said character: I saw his beautiful soulful anime eyes and I was done for. Also his tiddies. Love me a cocky bastard, and I’m a bit sad he’s not allowed to be that anymore, but I also love prideful and vain characters and people digging their own graves. Blood looks great on him!

Sorry! Oops! You're right! Maybe a little too much, my bad!
I swear it was a happier picture in my head with Nacho and Tuco all jokey when they're in their 20s.
Tuco x Nacho Head canon:
"I was good to him! I was good!"
"it's going to be like a lesson to myself! You never, never trust the people that you love!"
What if Ignacio Varga met Tuco when they were teenagers, becoming friends following a fight or something? But in a secret, rebellious act against his uncle, Tuco slowly becomes partners with Nacho. In more ways than one.
And what if there was actually a point in time back then, before Tuco Salamanca got into Crank and Meth, that Nacho returned these feelings? Nacho slowly watches his friend turn into pretty much a monster, with little help or concern from the man's family and Abuelita.
When Mike asks Nacho about the hit in 'Gloves Off', Ignacio Varga seems very conflicted but already resigned to the fact to take Tuco out. However he can. This is why he is so ready to switch over to the plan about putting Tuco in prison. In their business, Nacho believed up until that point that that was the only solution?
Nacho spent years working with Tuco, maybe even a near decade. He is the shoulder for the Salamanca to come to when things get tough. The one who Tuco can trust with the matters of his life.
And for Nacho to see a man who is maybe his first, crumble to addiction and to Hector Salamancas plans and circumstances. Family pressures. While Tuco grows crueler himself as he becomes sicker. Unable to truly be honest about a part of himself. Maybe this is why partly Nacho shows such disdain for the rest of the Salamancas later? They left Tuco and him to rot. No one to handle things.
What if in the first quote, Tuco is also referring to Nacho, other than Gonzo?
How he had given him everything? And had still been stabbed in the back by the man? The man that Tuco loves?
Maybe this is why he shows such contempt for Jesse, he is taking his pent up feelings about Nacho out on him. Jesse, who is a handsome younger man about Nacho and Tuco's age when theyd started. Somewhat childish, a joker. Possibly like how Nacho could have been? But Jesse is also grating to Tuco's comparison of Nacho, whom had been molded into who we see in Better Call Saul over years.
And in Better Call Saul, as Nacho's days approach the uncertain end of Tuco's jail time. Nacho heard through Hector that he'd gotten a lighter sentence for Mike. As well as Tuco's eventual release. Nacho grows uncomfortable and solemn. Depressed. His plans are not going the way he thought. Nacho knows it isnt going to last, his freedom and what there is left of it. Sooner or later, Tuco will get out and be on the lookout for who put him in. Nacho knows this very well. The clock is ticking. So, he decides to seize the day. Planning to escape to possibly Manitoba l? (At one point in the series, we see Nacho's picture on a Manitoba Drivers license.)
