OT!Verse lore part 2 section 1 WOOOO! Roles:
So I'm having to break this part up as well to explain some things. In my multi-verse there are some things like Gods and magic. So it is a bit mythical but this section is mainly dedicated to the really important peices of the multi-verse. As always any fandoms that are mentioned here DO NOT belong to me. Only the persona's and their story.
Gods: So here the gods and we'll do each of them in this main post as well. Ebony, Virus, Phantom, Stardust (even though I don't exactly count him as a god), Narrator, Cipher and Reboot.
Ebony: God of creation and Chaos. He still uses creatio magic with paint and ink but the chaos comes from the moon magic/energy in the apple that he ate in Passive!Phantom's timeline. He's tasked with the stability of the aus and making sure everything doesn't go to shit. That also means spreading moon energy into other Aus in the multi-verse if they have to. Unlike what most people think he's more understanding of the fact that there needs to be balance of BOTH Sun and moon energy in the multi-verse.
Stardust: Now Stardust isn't nessacarily a god but they ARE very important to the multi-verse. Born from a combination of Sun and moon energy by the multi-verse itself; Stardust was made to help with the instability of the already unstable and broken multi-verse. Stardust helps to combat the overwhelming amount of moon energy in the Aus and the lack of sun energy. Now they also understand the importance of both energies in the multi-verse but sometimes struggle to remember that which doesn't really bother Ebony since they know Stardust is just a new being. They don't understand much of the concepts that the others do but they're working on it. They have arrows of pure energy that's colored like a pale yellow and lavender purple. Stardust doesn't really have a gender since they were born from the multi-verse itself. So they can appear either feminine or masculine or both.
Virus: Ah yes... God of destruction. He's tasked with destroying timelines that are far too unstable to exist in the multi-verse. He's semi-allied with Ebony and Stardust but mainly does his own thing. Trust isn't something easy to come by for the glitchy god but, he's working on it. He does know of Reboot but doesn't know how to approach him yet.
Cipher: Dream demon. Possesed by Bill in this AU he basically want to "Rewrite" the entirety of the multi-verse itself to create his own version of what it should look like to him. Obviously things don't go as planned because nobody NOT EVEN REBOOT agrees with him and Reboot is kind of an outcast (not exiled he just does his own thing like Virus but is more so anti-social hence why nobody really knows him). Anyways Cipher is the only one who's fully like "destroy the whole multi-verse and redo it."
Phantom: God of Moon energy and negativity. He wants to keep spreading the amount of moon energy throughout the multi-verse. Enemies of Virus, Stardust and Ebony. He doesn't fully grasp the concept of balance. How could he? He kinda lost that after he ate a Moon Apple. L lmao. Anyways, He is incredibly strong and can access multiple Aus if he has to but chooses not to use his full strength for reasons that go unkown... For now :).
Narrator: Not a God but like Stardust in a way, is an entity tasked with the stability of the multi-verse. Ebony trusts him with that and that only. Mainly because he has unorthodox ways of "helping" by rewriting timelines that don't exactly follow the story. He's not a villain by any means but he's more like morally grey. He sees it as an nessacary evil to keep everything stable which WORKS much to Ebony's dismay.
Reboot: .... Glitch entity. He's an Au that follow the timeline of Anti-septiceye except he's more of a "RESET" then anything. After the events that happened with his glitching and his throat cut. He found himself in the glitch sphere and with the "RESET" button. Unaware of what it may do and wanting to redo his past he hits it. While it DOES work it fucks up his code even more. Here Reboot isn't nessacarily as chaotic as he once was. He wants to start over but is massively unstable and doesn't want to cause anymore damage so he isolates himself. He helps with Virus and the others but that's about it.
Now I'm going cry over the next few hours TnT

“Elain actually wants Azriel! They already have strong feelings for each other!”
Okay. So now what? Their book starts with them already on the verge of falling in love (ridiculous lol) and to deal with this they do…what? If Feyre learned that they love each other, she would never be okay with Rhys forbidding them from being together. It would take a single conversation between Feyre and Rhys to clear this up. And sjm has repeatedly let us know that Lucien is more courtier than warrior. There would be no blood duel. Also, as Rhys said, it’s illegal in his lands, and Elriels are adamant that Elain WILL NOT leave the Night Court, so they’d be protected by that law.
But say Azriel ignores Rhys’s order, and Lucien invokes the blood duel and Rhys allows it to happen. We are told Azriel would destroy Lucien with “little effort.” So now Lucien’s dead…and apparently Elain is fine with this. Does Beron declare war on the Night Court? And is Eris no longer their ally, even though we’ve yet to see them truly working together? Beron is already an enemy, so we don’t need that extra reason for him to fight against the NC. Vassa and Jurian would turn on the IC but they have no forces to command right now, so not sure what they could really do about it. Does the Spring Court remain desolate indefinitely because there’s no one left to care about it? I’m genuinely trying to wrap my head around how this could play out but I’m struggling to see it.
Say they do decide to sneak around for a bit until Elain and Lucien “mutually” reject the bond. What happens then? The scene with Cassian and Eris at the very end of ACOSF told us what to expect for the next book:
“Koschei remains in play, and Beron might very well be stupid enough to establish an alliance with him, too.”
Beron and Koschei. How does Elriel play into that? Elain has visions of Koschei, so she could fit into this plot line. But is Azriel more connected to Beron and Koschei than Lucien? Lucien has a connection to Vassa, who is enslaved by Koschei’s curse. And all of Prythian still believes Beron to be Lucien’s father. Plus, there’s Eris’s plot to overthrow Beron. We learned that Lucien and Eris are on speaking terms again. Sjm has left several hints that Eris cares for Lucien and has secretly protected him. So there’s potential for a reconciliation between them. But I fail to see how Azriel fits into this story in an interesting way, aside from being useful in a fight. Will Elain and Azriel take on Koschei and Beron while Lucien happily assists them?
Say they’ve defeated Koschei and Beron, Elain and Azriel are happy, Lucien is still tied to Elain but ultimately they are fine to go their separate ways. What’s the next book about? Vassa and Lucien falling in love? She’d be free from her curse by then, and we know she desperately wants to return to her people. Or maybe this happens in the “Elriel book” as well. So if Azriel and Elain’s story is concluded, AND Lucien’s story is tied up, what’s next? A full length novel about Emerie and Mor?
I’m just not seeing it. Are you?

Obsessed with the idea of Extraordinary Things being a back and forth between Jaskier and Radovid, with Jaskier trying to draw him out in the first verse, and Radovid finally answering him in the second.
Cause like, with Radovid, Jaskier meets someone who he can't fully read properly. He knows there's something under the front of a drunken, bumbling prince, but he doesn't know him well enough yet to be certain as to what.
So, he tests the waters a bit. throws out a line to see if Radovid will take it—and he does. A little bit. But it's so interesting to me, because it doesn't just feel like Jaskier is trying to nail down Radovid's truth in this verse; it feels like he's injecting elements of his own mask into it, as well.
"Keep your words on ice, your gaze lights the fire. They say 'keep on playing nice,' but I have no desire. Why waste our words when lips were made for extraordinary things? It's not a want, it's a need, it is paying no heed to what others say to sing."
This is Jaskier's read of Radovid as he knows him so far: a man hiding more complex wants beneath the veneer of a drunken party boy. But it's also Jaskier admitting that he knows this about Radovid because he wears the exact same mask himself.
Much like how Jaskier and Ciri speak through Geralt and Yennefer in order to process their own feelings about them later in the season, Jaskier sings through himself in order to comprehend who Radovid is. Jaskier is using the performative persona he's crafted for himself in an attempt to coax Radovid out of his.
All of it leads into the main intention of this song: "The greatest songs are made up of unspoken words of love. Of them, I've had enough. with you, I am enough." I am tired of having to put up a front. I want to be understood. I think you understand me. Prove me right.
And Radovid sees what Jaskier is doing. He comments on Jaskier's ability to see people for who they are and not who they pretend to be. But there's still more he wants to understand. This still feels like a game, in a way.
It's only after Radovid sees the brutality of Dijkstra and Philippa up close, watches them orchestrate the assassination of the queen and threaten to incriminate him if he doesn't fall in line, that he then grasps the vulnerability in Jaskier's lyrics. Jaskier is also caught between multiple conflicting desires, that of his loyalty to Geralt/Yen/Ciri, and that of his work as the Sandpiper & how said work is backed by his continued commitment to Redanian Intelligence. That internal conflict and the desire to escape it is also highlighted in the song's first verse ("they say keep on playing nice, but i have no desire"). Only after all of this, when true fear begins to take over and the game stops being fun, does Radovid truly begin to truly understand Jaskier.
And so, he seeks him out. And he responds.
“Drop the sweet disguise, your heart’s beating too loud. The fairytales and little lies can’t drown out all the sound.” You were right. I do understand you. I know what you really want, because we're the same. You can’t hide it behind a façade of a song and a story and a persona.
“Take this heart and break this heart for extraordinary things.” I don't know what will become of this, or us. I still don't fully know if we can trust each other. But no one has ever seen me in the way that you have.
It's not a want, it's a need. With you, I am enough.
#angel.txt#the witcher#jaskier#radovid#radskier#meta & theories#angel.doc#twn spoilers#i never wrote my wpb meta so have some extraordinary things meta instead shdfdfddfd#i truly think that first verse is so complex and multi-layered and can be read in multiple ways (both in-universe and externally)#like this is what i meant by 4d chess like how the FUCK can i explain what jaskier's doing in that first verse#its also little things. the background vocals that pick up in the second verse.#the way the second verse is omitted from the diegetic performance of the song which could imply jaskier hadn’t written it at the time#the way that we hear this song over the credits only after they get together in ep 4 and it's an extended version BUT#the extended version is entirely instrumental after the first half ends which also imply that the second half hasn't yet been written#as a whole i think that a lot of twn songs can be read through both internal and external lenses to enhance their existence in the narrativ#the fact that some of them have different names in-universe as opposed to on the ost. the choices they make in diegetic song placement.#im not very inclined in musical terminology but my brain is going insane over what this show does with its songs and how joey himself write#(and tbh i like to think of the sountrack/ost versions of songs as smth separate or alternate from the ones seen directly In the episodes)#idk. just very much intrigued with the idea of this song as a conversation#the entire song being an illustration of the masks they both wear#the truth that lies beneath them‚ and the way they both try to chip at each other until one of them drops it first.#obsessed with certain choices and going a little too insane about them <3

[ With the newest chapter out, I have a LOT of ideas either validated, or new ones buzzing in my head. So, here we go!
As we essentially got confirmation that SM has been in PV's head this whole time, he 100% knows about all of his friends and who he values the most. From each of the new heroes, to everyone around Gingerbrave and Custard.
SM gives PV nightmares on the regular, often around tormenting his closest and most cherished friends as a way to chip away at his sanity.
The nightmares range from almost lucid dreaming/being too real.. to his beloved cardboard cutout stage plays.
He can see through Pure Vanilla's eyes. Even though he's been 'resealed' in the tree, it's not going to stop him for torment- 'doting' on his lovely little successor.
If PV's will wavers enough, he can attempt to take control of the motor functions of PV's body. Witches forbid he passes out and SM attempts to take full control.
Being a complete THEATRE KID.. he has studied PV's mannerisms and voice to a point he can mimic them perfectly. So if he does take control, it's incredibly hard to tell it's SM until it's too late.
SM loves his friends, and fellow Beasts very dearly. That is one of the only truths he'll ever tell.
Considering he was able to talk to the group even after being re-sealed, he is still very much awake, and will continue to try and break out now that he's had that lovely taste of freedom!
[ Also ideas for a new verse~ Freedom AU ]
SM had a back-up plan in-case he was able to be re-sealed, and it involves smuggling a small part of his soul away to seek out either a temporary vessel, or seek out Dark Enchantress Cookie to set the plan to free the others in motion.
While only at a fraction of his true power, he goes around to ensure the other Beasts can fully awaken, so they could break him out of his re-sealed prison.
All the while he continues his mental torment of Pure Vanilla Cookie in the hopes they snap, and burn the tree down for him.

Reboot redesign and Rewrite. Rewrite takes place in Generation Loss (belongs to Ranboo). Rewrite happened whenever something went wrong with the code whenever Narrator attempted the Rewrite. Causing Rewrite to be brought back but.... Not nessacarily alive. He's vengeful but goes from AU to AU in OT!Verse.
Reboot and Rewrite are the only ones that belong to me.

❝ FOR GOD'S SAKE HOWARD!? ❞ The sharp reprimand slipped out of it's own accord, heart thudding in her chest, so fast she was sure it was going to bloody jump out of her throat. As if the situation wasn't tense enough already, there was UNIT's technical specialist and deputy quartermaster, popping out from underneath one of the panels in the floor?!
Beside her, Kate could hear their new Australian recruit let out a scream and shout something about a galah on fire? .... she had no idea what that meant, except that Tegan was not impressed. That, she did understand. ❝ I suppose evacuating with the rest of the civilian staff wasn't high on your priorities today? ❞

i am way too late for any of this, but i felt like ranting a little (a lot) over tma, so here it goes.
i actually really, really liked the dreamlike quality of the S5 statements. i think they're some of jonny's best work. so evocative and just beautifully written, the feeling of horror so prevalent, so delicate, so entrapping. i would listen to them absolutely enthralled. what a submersive experience. so on that front, 100% would recommend.
the problems i have are mainly with the meta-plot. certainly, personal preferences and biases come into play here, bc i despise jonmartin with the fire of a thousand suns and would have loved a jonelias corruption narrative, but, i feel that, in his quest to appease the j-mart shippers, jonny sacrificed a lot of his story's integrity. also, i have no way of verifying this, but it also felt like he inserted his own biases in a way that wasn't necessarily productive.
ultimately, i feel like he disrespected his main antagonists and that essentially translated into a sort of irreverence towards his own story. elias was easily his most dramatic and interesting villain (regardless of what he originally intended for him, it's how he developed throughout the story & i think there is a certain honesty in a writer acknowledging and respecting that), stole every scene he was in, yet after his great villain reveal in S4, he is absolutely absent throughout his entire apocalypse. it creates a lack of catharsis that i find bothersome. his death is way too easy. yet when he finally appears in MAG 193, it is glorious. he is terrifyingly in the throws of religious ecstasy as the eye's pupil. such an interesting idea! so little it was developed though bc jonny for some reason doesn't like elias.
there's this entire commentary about how elias is really just there to be eye's pupil until jon takes over from him, bc it's jon the eye truly desires. as if after faithfully serving the beholding for two centuries and bringing about his ritual, the eye would just disregard elias and actually be interested in the one person who is unwilling to play ball. please be serious. not saying that jon can't be the eye's "special little boy" or whatever, but the nerfing of elias/jonah borderlines on petulant. ofc, jonny is the author and you cannot begrudge a man for writing whatever he wants, but, as a listener, i have to say it feels very unsatisfying whenever authorial biases directly affect the storyline. very deus-ex-machina. very unearned.
i also have a problem with how the eye was ultimately handled and, once again, nerfed. the introduction of this element in relation to the beholding, that it sees but does not understand, felt very trite to me. it was added as a way to de-power the eye and elevate the web. but how could it even be true in the context of the entity conceptualization? the reason scopophobia is a thing is because people fear someone is behind the watching. what they fear is judgment or someone keeping tabs on them and using that information to harm them in some way. that requires intelligence, a capacity to distinguish between the harmless and the incriminatory, a propensity for casting moral judgment, of holding people accountable, of assigning blame, of discovering people's deepest, darkest secrets, of weaponizing shame. no one is afraid of a crow or a cat staring back at them, because, while those are also living beings, they lack the higher intelligence that creates the context necessary for scopophobia. so how can the eye not possess intelligence? apparently it doesn't, because jonny decided he didn't like the eye and the spider was oh-so-cooler instead.
but that only lead to the spider being way too overpowered than it should have been. as the so-called brain of the operation, the web really manifests a lot of faults that could have been exploited, yet the character never do, because the web needs to be true It Girl for some reason. this all feels very childish. the web's motivations do not work in-universe. we are often told it doesn't have a ritual because it is content with playing its games of manipulation within the world as it currently is. and that honestly seemed a rather fair assessment to make, but later proved to be a red herring, because it was the web that was actually behind the eye's own ritual.
i have several gripes with this. 1. if the spider is so smart, why doesn't it/can't it have its own ritual and re-shape the world according to its own preferences? why does it have to piggyback on the eye's grind? 2. the spider's big plan seems to be bringing about the eyepocalypse just to convince the characters to let the fears out into the metaverse so it can start again. because, as it turns out, the eyepocalypse isn't really it's preferred state of being? it was the status-quo after all? the web DID prefer the world as it was, because it allowed it to thrive off manipulation and puppeteering, things it can't really engage in as much as it would like, since now everyone is trapped inside various fear domains. so, why-oh-why, not just leave the world as is? why even bring about an apocalypse in the first place if your intention is to always inhabit a apocalypse-less place?
i felt like this was such a plot-hole of an explanation the way it was presented. the web's greatest flaw was that it loved intricate plots so much there was a real danger of over-complicating its own plans and failing to see the forest from the trees, so to speak. the eye could have been used not to boggle down on meaningless details and ramifications, but to get a better sense of the bigger picture, something the web could very well lose sight of (pun intended). so the web's "plan" could have been ultimately rendered meaningless, because instead of choosing the simplistic, straightforward, occam's razor solution (no apocalypse, just thrive off the world as it is), it chose the overly complicated path that placed it in a situation it didn't thrive in (eyepocalypse) and made it even more complicated to get out of in the first place. it basically surrendered its destiny into the hands of people who had zero reasons to act sympathetic and could have very well chosen to destroy the entire world, fears included. and yet i am supposed to be in awe of the web's great intelligence and buy into the whole dumb eye propaganda?
many things have already been said about the moral dilemma at the end of S5 and my take on that is that jon was right. it was the merciful and just solution to prevent other people from other universes from suffering at the hands of fear entities. but i will be indulgent and account that it is a difficult choice to make for anyone, since human beings are so survivalist in nature and the choice to just make the fears someone else's problem in the hopes of their plans maybe getting foiled more effectively by others is tantalizing. who knows what any of us would have chosen had we been in their situation? perpetuating the horrors on someone else just so you could get reprieve is so cravenly but it's human and i get it. however, by no means is this a happy ending the way it was framed by the narrative. what melanie, georgie, basira and martin did was horrible and evil, but it is never acknowledged in that way. the least jonny could have done is have jon resist martin's selfish decision and have martin genuinely kill him. but, no, martin gets his romantic send-off together with jon, with the open possibility that they get transported to another world where they could start over. melanie, georgie and basira get to start a new life in the entity-less world, after contributing almost nothing. the worst characters get to live & they're validated in their awful behaviour.
however. i do feel like there were other ways to resolve the eyepocalypse without resorting to a horrible sophie's choice in the first place, but that would require a more extensive endgame re-write.

ㅤDays of pure management, of switching between sitting at a desk to go through a pile of papers and visiting every corner of the studio to ensure matters and arrangements were developing as they should, tended to be a mixed bag of feelings. Surely, and by much and far, such days could not compare to the unmatched thrill that was to stand atop a stage, but there was no arguing how necessary they were. Concerts and tours did not organize themselves, after all.
ㅤAnd it wasn't like Itachi minded supervising said management and organization, either - in fact, being the obsessive methodical person he was, it was a talent of his and something that ever came to him very naturally. The issue at present being, therefore, a different one. Namely, how, because of a most ill-timed flare-up of his chronic, autoimmune illness, he'd been forced to stay away from work for over a week - which culminated in a new stage technician being hired without his knowledge nor approval. Not to say he did not trust his band mates to make good decisions but, again... for someone with a borderline pathological need for control, this was the kind of thing that really threw him off.
Well, it was what it was.
ㅤWhining wouldn't get him anywhere and, now that he was [literally] back to business, the best option would be to deal with it like the grown-up he was. Accept whatever had been done and fix whatever needed fixing; move on. Thankfully, it should be resolved soon anyway, given how said new stage technician was about to show up for the first meeting. With trusty coffee mug in hand and taking the time to check on emails and catch up with some other smaller matters, the bassist breezed through the wait time, till a knock came to the office's door - answered with a prompt, casual come in.
ㅤWhat was equally prompt, then, and certainly not casual at all, was his reaction to the person who'd just walked in. To the point where, to make sure he was seeing right, he even pulled his glasses out of the way. Which... admittedly, was a very dumb thing to do, because when was the last time that someone with terrible eyesight was able to see better by removing their glasses? That aside, and after a few more seconds of incredibly awkward silence, Itachi eventually remembered how to speak again; even if the eloquence of the words coming out was questionable, at best.
«...What are you doing here?»

☆ I may end up deleting this blog. I don't know if I don't have much motivation for these muses anymore or maybe because I haven't been writing a lot as of late. Every time I try to log on here and get to stuff, I end up reblogging a lot of memes or a lot of musing posts or art stuff. Nothing more than that. Even if I did get to something, it's usually for Teresa.
I hate to disappoint people by not writing on here when I really want to.
