I sometimes like to think how would artw boys react to The Promised Neverland, so to finally give my head a mush needed rest here it is (ps, for plot convincece, they can get stuff from mid earthium, but not send Vanessa or Vega back, plot convenience):
It was a bright and sunny school day, the guide committee were all dealing with the last of their works with a drink suited to each one's preference, Vanessa was humming a tune they had never heard before, a soft melancholic yet hopeful tune, barely to be heard by the others, but alas, paperwork can make even looking at paint dry on a wall more interesting and here there was a beautiful melody.
"My, my summoner, you sure have a gifted voice, why didn't you tell me, I could have snatched you an offer for a play", Sirius is the first to break the silence, "I agree with Sirius on this, it was a beautiful melody too, is it from mid earthium?" Spica asks
She tells them it was from one of her favourite shows back on earth, or mid earthium as they called it, "Why don't we host a movie party after work? We have worked hard all week too! Please Spica!!!!" Poll and Arcky were practically begging with the cutest expression, Vega was also missing his home all of a sudden and Alpheratz felt like it was a good motivation for him to promote him to work on
"ok fine, summoner what's the name of the show?"
"are you sure? It's actually pretty scary".
Puppy eyes
-Poll, arcky, Vega
"The Promised Neverland, it gets scary though, don't tell me I didn't warn you"
At the Mansion
A projector was set up and Spica and Alpheratz were able to summon a volume of the show, Poll and Sirius brough their favourite candies, Arcky brought some fluffy blankets and Vega brought enough fruit jellies to keep himself happy.
Spica
At first he wonders if Vanessa needs a dictionary, the show was about cute kids playing tag and doing homework, how is that scary? Aww look a cute little girl with a toy bunny, he would have adopted her if she was real and bought her many bunny dolls
Poor man was distraught after seeing Conny, to put it lightly, his face lost colour and his eyes looked like they would pop out, will absolutely listen to her if she says something is scary, Conny was his favourite character RIP
Alpheratz
Now here is the thing, he has an amazing 6th sense, he doesn't know why but he just doesn't feel all that giddy because he just knows something bad is about to happen
He was right he wished he wasn't
Arcturus
He really wants to adopt them all, everyone points out how he looks like Emma and they are both Ray (bada dum dss) of sunshine, probably is thinking about having his own family one day
He is crying, like really badly, no one brought tissues, the room is flooding
Pollux
Remembers all his siblings, how can he not? The entire show reminds him of his noisy but lively house. He really misses them now, he has made a plan to watch the entire show with them once he finishes watching it with his Contel family
He no longer wants to watch it, he isn't even watching it right now, he is also hugging Arcky and they are both crying
Vega
So many childhood memories, everyone is teasing how much Norman and him look alike and all the while he is like, if I have a kid with Vanessa would it look like that? Really soft and giddy
She gave this guy a PTSD he never even knew he had he screamed loudly and went instinctively to hug her, I mean protect, yes protect
Sirius
Now it is important to remember, he is a theatre kid, nothing will phase him, OMG THEY ARE SO ADORABLE he is holding back happy tears, have to stay composed, his acting experience helped him a lot, he knows horror stories involving kids are the scariest, but he can't help but let his guard down a little, I mean come on? Cute kids, a beautiful mom and they all are happily doing stuff kids do
He ruptured everyone's ear drums and now is choking on black licorice, I guess the plot doesn't happen now
Vanessa
Now here is the thing ok, imprinted partners can feel eachother's heartbeat and feelings, at first she was woozy from all the happiness in the room
The collected shock from everyone almost killed her, luckily Alpheratz was nearby, she is no longer allowed to pick a movie

Come On Over Baby
Summary: continuation to "Keep Bugging Me". Dosan gets a new apartment and everyone has mixed reactions.
Author's note: I have so many ideas about this fake world I created and I'm just going to live here for a while 🤷🏽‍♀️ I want these things to happen but the show just keeps waking up and choosing violence when they could choose hugs and kisses, it's a damn shame. Anyway if you wanna live in ignorance with me here you gooooooo. 💞💃🏾 Am I back to naming my stories after cheesy songs? Hmmm nobody can prove it *Hums Christina Aguilera*
Tumblr media
It's not a easy decision, no chance at that when his mother stares at him like he admitted to killing puppies but he knows that he needs his own place. His phone calls with Dalmi are getting progressively more heated with them not able to get a moment alone since the event that must not be named.
The first time she asks him what he's wearing he looks down at his cable knit sweater and tells hers, "It's one hundred percent cotton. My mom bought it for me last week. It's very warm." Her silence and subsequent laughter makes him feel as if he's missed something important despite answering her question. With a giggle she replied, "You are really sweet Dosan. You're too good for this world." And he blushes immensely feeling hot under the collar at her excessive praise.
The next time, she simply sends him a message that causes his brain to go offline.
I miss your taste.
There's no way to misconstrue that statement and his brain supplies vivid images of what they did in this very room.
Gasping.
Slurping.
Moist.
He hurries to lock his door before letting his hands stray, her wet mouth filling his thoughts. Embarrassment isn't enough to deter him and her messages following make it clear she knows exactly the affect her seemingly innocuous message yielded.
So he starts looking for an apartment with Dalmi's help, she will be over a lot and it only makes sense that she should have some input. Her smile is honey sweet when he asks for her help, grinning at him with glee as she sips her iced Americano.
"I would love to help Dosan-ah."
The ordeal takes longer than expected but within weeks he finds a place, a mere twenty minute drive from his parents house and thirty minutes from Dalmi. They share identical sunny smiles as he signs the lease and buys their his new apartment. He has to repeatedly remind himself that he can afford this place regardless of the exorbitant amount of zero's. He's come a long way indeed.
Telling his parents about his move is uncomfortable to put it lightly, his mom is nonchalant and sulking in equal terms. Wailing that her only son is abandoning her for a pretty young thing, he's just thankful that Dalmi isn't around to hear her new nickname. His father on the other hand is over the moon, slapping him on the back and shouting about the strong will of Nam men. He fears he'll suffer from chronic back pain as a result of the thunderous pounds.
"Don't skip meals. Call if you need anything. You're always welcome to come back. " His mom promises, reaching out to smack his father as breezes by boasting on the phone that he has a free room in the house now and promises that they can use it for gatherings.
"Yes, yes! Bring the soju we should have a drink!"
But when it's time to bring all his belongings to the moving van, manned by Chul-san and Yong-san both parents are eying him with wet eyes from the doorway. He tries to keep his tears at bay but they all end up weeping in front of the gate, Chul-san screaming "They grow up too quickly!" Patting his mother compassionately on the back. He tries the same with his father but the dead glare stops him in his spot.
After a long day unpacking boxes, mostly his computer and tech supplies he collapses on the floor exhausted. With a dopey grin Chul-san is the first to leave, after Saha sends him a message complaining that she's bored and if he wants to hang him he better be there in ten minutes. Chul-san smiles like she sent him a love letter, he shakes his head but he's done trying to understand their relationship.
He waves goodbye to his friend, thanking him for his help and with then it's just him and Yong-san, who immediately starts to interrogate him about Dalmi and their relationship.
"How are things going?" Yong-san asks laying on the wooden floor with him as they both stare out the giant windows, the sunset is a majestic spill of colors.
His lips slide into an instantaneous grin, "I'm happy. Happier than I was in San Francisco."
Yong-san doesn't reply but he reaches across to squeeze his hand and wrap an arm around his shoulder.
They sit like that for a quiet moment.
Until his phone disrupts the gentle silence, the woman in question appearing on his phone. After a nod from his friend he answers the call.
"Hello?"
"Dosan-ah! Did you finish moving? I'm sorry I couldn't help you. Are you hungry? I can bring you food." Dalmi's voice is music to his ears, the rumbling of her engine vibrating in his ears.
He answers honestly, "Yes we finished, Chul-san and Yong-san helped me. It's okay I know you had to work today. I am a little hungry, fried chicken?" He knows now that he doesn't need to pretend to want fancy food, they both love fried chicken and its delicious simplicity.
She groaned knowingly, "I had a feeling you'd want chicken on a day like this. I already got some from that place you like. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
He smiles, nuzzling into Yong-san's shoulder contently before answering, "Okay. I'll see you soon."
He begins to lower the phone but then her voice rings out stopping him "Dosan-ah one more thing!" He immediately brings the phone back to his face humming to show his presence.
"I miss you. I love you."
His heart flutters never tiring of hearing those three words. If he could bottle it up and listen to it daily he would. He's addicted to her love.
"You too. I love you too."
Then they finally hang up cheesy smile etched in his handsome face.
"Wow. I see it now. You really are cockroaches in love. Gross but captivating." Yong-san teases pushing Dosan's head off his shoulder as he gathers his things. He temporarily feels a tinge of guilt, Yong-san is the only one in the group who doesn't have someone. He doesn't want his friend to feel like the fifth wheel.
His thoughts must play on his face because Yong-san mushes his face before sticking out his tongue, "Don't look at me like that. I'm fine we can't all be gross and in loveeee. I'll be stuffing my face with premium beef instead."
They both chuckle as he walks his friend it the door, saying their goodbyes with a quick embrace.
His nerves overtake him when he's alone. He checks his phone but there is nothing there to keep his attention so he starts at the spot where you would have a TV, then he realizes he has nothing here. What will he do with Dalmi? He contemplates texting her to let her know she should probably just go home. In the end his desire to see his girlfriend overwhelms his selflessness. They can be bored together.
Minutes pass and he buzzes her in, body twitching now from her nearing proximity. When she knocks at the door he all but races to answer the door, unshamed.
"Hi."
"Hey."
They stare at each other starry eyed before he moves out of the way and lets her in. Placing a pair of pink house slippers at her feet, at her curious look he explains with a shy shrug, "I bought them for you."
She smiles widely, thrusting the fried chicken at his broad chest.
"I come bearing gifts too."
The enticing aroma of the fried delicacy fills his senses and he takes the proffered bag, thankful that she thought to bring plastic plates and little plastic cups.
"I don't have anything to drink." He apologizes holding up the cups.
Pulling a bottle out of nowhere she then offers him a bottle of wine, deep red with a golden label. He is no connoisseur but it looks expensive.
"You didn't need to bring me wine."
She shrugs, "I wanted to. You're pretty cute when you're drunk."
He reddens remember that embarrassing night so many years ago, his first time sleeping at her house.
"Maybe we shouldn't drink that much."
She laughs loudly at his warning, pulling a bottle opener from her purse. He absently wonders what else is in there.
She pours the liquid into the plastic cups, handing it to him first and instinctively he leans in to smell the beverage. His nose dangerously close to the liquid before he realizes what he's doing and he hurriedly pulls away.
"Ummm... I-"
"Is that what you're supposed to do?" She asks before leaning in and sniffing her own wine loudly and without any grace. If he wasn't already in love, he would be falling right now.
They both sniff their wine gracelessly and munch on the crispy sweet meat, the dissonance of the meal doing nothing to stop their consumption.
Dalmi hums sweetly as she sits on the floor looking gorgeous with chicken grease on her lips.
"What?" She questions, licking her fingers clean.
He feels his throat tightening. Parched.
He looks at the ground, avoiding her eye as he downs his wine.
"Nothing. Just thinking. How was your day?"
And he listens as Dalmi tells him all about her long day complaining about her sister and how demanding she is, Dosan pointedly does not mention the fact that she's smiling or the fact that all of Injae's "annoying" habits sound like things that Dalmi herself does all the time. It didn't take him long to realize just how similar the sisters are but god forbid anyone mention that.
He smiles when she starts playing with her hair, thankful to be the one she shares her days with.
When he stands up to collect their garbage, walking into the spacious kitchen. She suddenly stops speaking droning off at the end of an incomplete sentence.
"Dalmi-ah?"
After throwing the garbage in the bin he washes his hands and wonders back over to his silent girlfriend, who is glaring at...the ground?
He calls her name again recapturing her attention.
Peering down he notices that she's staring at his phone. Which has a message notification.
Twisting his lips in thought he crouched down again rejoining Dalmi on the smooth glossy floor.
"I didn't mean to look. It was just right there." She's bites out taking a big gulp from her cup.
He has no idea what could possibly have her so worked up and he picks up his phone to see the answer.
I miss you stranger. Call me soon.
He gasps as soon as he sees those words on the screen: Han Ji Yoon.
He knew it wasn't mature but he'd never actually cut things off with her, he'd just slowly stopped calling her and answering her messages. Some might of considered it ghosting but he called it awkwardly disappearing, he'd never broken up with someone before so he just didn't know how. So he'd hoped she would get tired of him and stop trying to see him, it had been working until this message.
"Dalmi-ah I can explain."
He expects more of a fight but she looks at him, waiting. Expectant and glowering. Fire in her eyes.
"Okay. Go ahead."
He blinks at her stare and gulps when she scoots closer to him, invading his personal space. Not knowing how her proximity renders him useless at the best of times.
So he stutters out how he was too pathetic to tell the girl the truth and instead he'd ignored her and thought she got the memo.
Dalmi doesn't say anything at first and when she finally speaks her words make no sense and he wonders if he's drunker than he thought.
"Does she follow you on social media?"
He nods yes and before he knows what exactly is happening Dalmi is dragging him by his arm to the window and mashing their faces together to take a selfie on his phone.
"Stop looking nervous. Look natural. Smile. Dosan-ah."
She snaps away until she's satisfied and he watches in amazement as she posts the picture to his story with the caption, "New apartment with my love." She puts a little red heart and then decides against it.
"There you go. Now everyone will know that you're taken."
His chest is brimming with emotions and he finds his hands curled around her little chin, she leans into his touch easily swaying as if hypnotized.
"You're jealous."
Her lips pull into a sneer but something in his eyes kills her denial, her face breaking as she wraps her thin arms around his waist.
"Don't look so proud. I have people texting me too you know?"
And immediately he squints at her words, staring hard at the indent of her phone in her pocket as if to read said messages.
"Let's post that picture on your social media too." He demands feeling the fiery blaze of jealous lick at his heart.
Her eyes widen before she erupts into laughter, dragging him the rest of the distance between them pressing her joy into his mouth.
He sinks his fingers into her thick hair, swallowing the rest of her laughter allowing Dalmi to back her into the cool glass of the window. All his shyness melts away as he kisses her, emboldened by her moans and buckling of her knees. He catches her before she can fall, hoisting her up his long torso until he feels her legs latch around his waist. They kiss until his lips are sore, his tongue deep in her mouth as she nibbles at his mouth. The flavor of chicken and wine explode on his tongue as he licks deeper, intoxicated on Dalmi and her addicting lips.
She teases the rim of his ears, breaking their kiss with a wet smack as they gaze into each other's eyes.
She looks as dazed as he feels. Eyes blown wide as she pants in his arms, almost boneless in his hold as she lets him take the full weight of her body. he barely notices, he has carried her too many times to count. It has become something of a habit. He’ll never recover from the spark in her eyes everything he lifts her, the faint blush on her cheeks. One of the only times that he can make her shy.
"Dosan-ah."
He hums fighting to pay attention with Dalmi looking so breathtaking in his arms stroking his hot ears.
"We need to get you a bed. Very soon hmmm?"
This time he knows exactly what she means and he groans hiding in her shoulder as she rubs his head.
Bed. Yes. Getting that immediately. Maybe stores are open. He should go get it.
Right now.

tears pricked at the back of your eyes. here you were, two weeks away from christmas, and still no presents, no decorations, and very little food to even last this week. nina, your six-year-old daughter, kept asking about why christmas hasn’t come yet to your house, but how were you gonna tell her that you were struggling to buy food alone? it seemed like everyone in your apartment building knew of your financial status. they eyed you sadly as you walked down the hallways, making your way to work your one of two jobs, dark undereye bags staining the once skin-toned flesh, nina constantly wondering why you were working and no longer spending time with her as much as you used to.
“i’m here to pick up nina,” you told him. “i’m her mom, mrs. gossard takes care of her in the afternoons.”
“oh!” he smiles at you, “you’re ms. [y/l/n], right?”
“yes, i am!” you smile back.
“come in, she got tired and is taking a nap in the living room,” he opens the door, stepping aside to let you walk in, taking in the pastel pink walls and white wicker furniture. “i’m stone, by the way. i’m mary’s son.”
“you’re the one she always talks about!” you brightly smile at him, causing him to blush lightly, sheepishly bowing his head. “she’s really proud of you, you know.”
“she’s always like that with her children,” stone laughs lightly, scratching the back of his neck. the pale color of his skin complimented his eyes, making them appear brighter in the white light of his mother’s living room.
“mama?” nina’s soft voice called from the couch. her small fist rubbed roughly against her eyelids, rubbing the sleep out of them as she pushed her upper body up to a sitting position. “hi,” you replied tenderly, making your way to her, her arms stretching out to allow you to pick her up easily. she wraps her arms around your neck and her legs around your waist, burying her head into the side of your neck, sighing gingerly, taking in the scent of the perfume you always wore. you turned back to stone, “is your mom home?” you pulled a small wad of money from your pocket, wanting to pay her for taking care of nina for however long she has been taking care of her for. “i’d like to give her this.” you pushed it towards stone, who gently put his hand over yours, pushing it back towards you.
“my mom won’t take your money,” he smiled delicately. “she understands, don’t worry about it.”
“but -”
“no buts,” he shook his head, making his way into the kitchen, picking up the platter from the counter. “she also wanted me to give you this, if you came over while she was at her doctor’s appointment.”
“thank you,” you freed one of your hands from nina, planning to take the glassware from him.
“no,” he puts it back down on the counter again, hands outstretched to take nina. “i’ll help you take it home.” he smiles softly again. swapping nina for the pie plate, moving towards the door, eyeing nina as she rested her head on stone’s shoulder. her faint snores restarted, causing the man’s heart to slowly turn to mush as he rested his cheek on her head. your heart swelled, opening the door to his mom’s apartment. nina’s estranged father was never in the picture, and seeing a strange man cuddle her softly to his chest as he helped you really brought both sadness and want into your heart.
you wanted nina to experience what having a father was like, but you barely had time for her, let alone another person. you walk to your apartment in silence, fearful that nina would wake up from her nap if you were too loud for her liking; she was always a light sleeper, something she gained from her dad, who was always sleeping with one eye open. you always wondered why, seeing that the neighborhood the two of you lived in was relatively safe.
most of seattle was.
taking your key and unlocking your door, you lead stone to nina’s room, the princess themed bedspread thrown haphazardly across her bed, a few barbies and kens laying about the floor in front of her dresser. he gingerly placed her down, unbuckling her jeans and pulling them down her legs before moving the bedspread to cover her up to her chin. you smiled at the sight before going to the kitchen, placing down the pie plate on the counter next to your stove. the sound of heavy steps alerted you of his presence, “i have to go, it’s almost the end of my mom’s appointment and i had to drive her down there.”
“alright,” you told him. “thank you for helping me with nina, i appreciate it.”
“no problem, it was a nice break from the music business,” he beams, chuckling a little. “well, hopefully i’ll see you later!” he waves at you before walking away, opening the door to your apartment.
“hopefully,” you hugged your arms around yourself.
Tumblr media
you had noticed a piece of paper on nina’s nighttable, and upon closer inspection, you noticed that it was stone’s phone number with a messily scrawled, “call me :).”
you did, the next day, and since then the two of you spoke and laughed at his jokes, him telling you stories of his childhood, his adventures across the world, the stress of being in a famous band. you feared telling him of your financial struggles and the struggle of trying to make enough money to get nina some presents. however, what you did not know, was that mary had told him of your problems and his plan to help you out with it.
it was the night of christmas eve, and nina had fallen asleep after throwing a small crying fit, wondering how 1. santa was going to be able to come to your home since it was in an apartment building (this was an ongoing thing for the past three years) and 2. why the christmas tree still wasn’t up. “he’s not going to come here if he can’t see the tree!” she cried, letting you hold her close, rubbing the back of her head as you calmed her down.
sitting in your living room with a book on your lap, your heart continued to beat wildly against your chest. you bought her very few things, most of which were small and it would make her a little disappointed, and at the same time break you heart as she would go back to school and talk about how the other kids got bigger and better things.
a small knock on your door caused you to freeze, eyes wide as you thought of what could happen. a burglar waiting for you to be dumb and open the door? mary coming over to bring some food? all bad thoughts crossed your mind until you heard, “it’s stone!” coming from the outside.
what was stone doing here at. . . you glanced at the clock in the kitchen, 4 in the morning? you put down the book, upside down as to keep your spot, and made your way to the door, still confused at why he was here. you unlocked the door and when you saw the christmas tree box - amongst other things - sitting at his feet, you gasped. “what is this, stone?”
“it’s for you and nina,” he smiled. “now, come on, it’s cold.” the two of you laughed, taking the time to pick up the boxes and transferring them into the warmth of your apartment, and as each box came in, you noticed that a few were already wrapped and ready to be placed under the christmas tree, one of which was wrapped in a different paper than the others. stone noticed you looking at it. “it’s for you.”
Tumblr media
it took the two of you half an hour to put up the tree and place the presents underneath, and once it was done, you were able to fall asleep peacefully, you and stone passing out on the cushions of your sofa. “mama!” nina’s cries pierced through the thick veils of sleep and woke you and stone up. “santa came!” you peered at her through your eyelashes, seeing her angelic face brighten up as she saw the many presents placed at the bottom of the lit tree.
“open them,” you insisted, trying to sit up with some difficulty, soon noticing stone’s head resting against your stomach, arms wrapped lazily around your middle. you haven’t seen her this happy, you noted, hand making its way into stone’s hair, gently rubbing his scalp. he hums softly, watching the girl tear through the first box, a high-pitched squeal leaving her lips as she realizes it’s the victorian purple barbie house she’s been pestering you for months and something you complained to stone about.
“nina,” you caught her attention, “can you give me that box, please? it has my name on it.” you caught the neatly scrawled [y/n] on the top. she snatches up from the floor, running over to you, placing it in your outstretched hand before going back to her own. “what is this, stone?”
“open it,” he nods to it.
you tear the paper, letting the pieces drop to the floor, seeing a flat velvet box come into view. written on top of it was ‘gucci’. opening it, an aged gold butterfly necklace stares back at you from the confines of the white cardboard interior, and peaking from behind it, a gold-colored debit card sat. “it currently has a few thousand dollars in it,” stone informs you. “and it’s attached to my bank acount, as well, so now you and nina are dependents.”
“stone, i can’t take this,” you begin to protest.
“why not?” he picked himself up from your stomach, glacing at you from above. “it’s my money and i get to choose what i want to do with it. and i want to help you and nina. there’s only one condition.”
“and what’s that?”
taking a short glance towards your daughter, who was too busy tearing open the last few of her presents, he lowers himself against you, face turning towards yours before he presses his lips softly on yours. “just be my girlfriend. that’s all i ask.”
you nod. “always.”

2pm. He could tell it was because his downstairs neighbour was home, attending to the array of plant pots she kept littered outside her door, and playing music on the radio that bled through the crack of the open window.
Daigo squinted in the afternoon light that managed to make its way through the blinds, groaning loudly.
“Fucking hell…”
Suppose now was as good a time as any to start the day. Especially when he felt his stomach rumble.
It took some effort to get to his feet, but soon he was dragging himself into the kitchen, yawning loudly. He needed something quick and tasty, now.
The fridge had nothing but convenience store sushi and days old leftover curry. The cupboards were also pretty bare, half a bag of rice and a ramen cup.
Daigo sighed heavily, setting his kettle to boil before grabbing the sushi. He stuffed a piece into his mouth, wrinkling his nose at the taste of stale rice but ate another without any complaint.
Head to the store. Get some more food, he thought, holding the ramen cup in place as he lifted up the kettle.
The water splashed on the counter a little, narrowly missing burning his fingers, making him forcefully slam the kettle back down once the cup was filled.
Daigo gripped the sides of the counter, closing his eyes as he felt a pulse of nausea rush through his body. If he forced the tension against the surface hard enough, he could stop his hands shaking for just a moment.
Eat noodles. Have a shower. Go to the store.
Opening his eyes again, he ate another piece of sushi, absolutely no taste on his tongue as he chewed it into mush, before taking his ramen into the living room.
He slumped down on the couch, turning the TV on and forced the food down him. He still felt nauseous, but he knew he wouldn’t actually vomit. He already had last night. Doubled over in a bush outside the train station and puked his guts out, despite not having much solids in him. Even now his throat felt sore from it. Classy.
He wasn’t even hungry, really. He was eating out of obligation, feeling his stomach gurgle happily at finally being filled with some kind of food.
As he ate, he noticed his cell phone on the table in front of him, discarded amongst the empty bottles and candy wrappers. It was flashing.
Daigo frowned, reaching over and flipping it open.
Three new answer machine messages.
Who the hell had tried calling him?
Message one - 9:25am
“Daigo, it’s your mother. Pick up.”
Message two - 9:43am
“Me again. Please answer your phone.”
Message three - 10:08am
“Daigo...it’s Mom-“
Daigo groaned, snapping his phone shut to end the messages. Nope! He was not dealing with this today.
He discarded the empty ramen cup and chopsticks with the rest of the trash on the table, storming towards the bathroom.
Shower on, clothes off. He used the toilet as the water heated up, catching the reflection of his upper half in the mirror as he finished.
“Hrmph.”
He ran a hand down his front, resting it on the middle of his stomach and huffed again.
His weight had been up and down the last ten years, though it had obviously settled during his stint in prison, with its shit food and no alcohol. Now that he was out, with all the freedom to indulge in every last inch of hedonism he could find though, he had developed a bit of a gut. Just a bump, but it was…noticeable, it was there. It stuck out.
No surprise really. How much did he drink last night again?
Enough I puked in a bush.
Daigo shifted on his feet, standing up a bit straighter and sucking his stomach in. It didn’t make much difference. He suddenly wondered how visible it was under his t-shirt, glad he usually wore a thick coat to hide himself in.
“Great,” he growled, stepping into the shower. Another thing to feel insecure about.
He stood there, forehead pressed against the wall as he let the water run down the Fudo Myoo on his back.
His hand started shaking again.
“Give me a break,” he said, clasping it to his chest, “A few hours, a day.”
He dried himself off, going back to his bedroom for a clean shirt and pair of jeans – both black, of course.
He also grabbed a heavy hoodie to wear to the store, a way to feel a little more comfortable in himself in a public place.
Wallet, keys, phone. Go to store. Buy supplies.
Daigo pulled his hood up as he jogged down the stairs, immediately blocked from leaving by the downstairs neighbour still gardening.
“Lovely afternoon, isn’t it Dojima-san?” Ito cried, beaming at him. She was older, always so chipper. How did she manage?
As much as he wanted to ignore her, Daigo had been raised with far too proper manners. He still remained casual, grunting a little and rubbing the back of his head.
“Yeah, suppose.”
“You came back late again last night,” she added, hands lifting a plant to move to another pot, “Ouma-san went off about it before going to work this morning.”
“Oh, did he now?”
Ouma was the guy around his age in the apartment next door. Always miserable, always bringing a new girl home every weekend that Daigo had to endure hearing fake horribly through his thin bedroom walls.
“I’ll try to be a bit quieter next time, Ito-san,” he mumbled. For her sake, not for that asshole Ouma.
“Or maybe you should stay in once in a while, hm?”
Daigo scowled, jerking his head and storming off toward the store. With any luck the old bag would have gone inside by the time he was back.
As he made his way down the street, he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He went to answer but paused, clenching his fingers tight into his palm. Nope. He knew who it was, and what she wanted, and he didn’t care.
His supply run was basic. More noodles, packs of chips and cookies, some onigiri and bentos that could last a few days.
Whilst picking up a few bottles of Staminan and Tauriner, he stared blankly at the alcohol.
His hands still shook. There was such a quick fix to settle that.
He grabbed a six pack of beer and a bottle of scotch and vodka, unable to help a crooked little grin.
The cashier looked at him a little oddly as he set his basket down on the counter. And yeah, he’d admit he looked strange. Sweating and shaky from withdrawal, under his eyes dark and his brow pulled into a near permanent scowl, face otherwise obscured by the shadow of the hood.
“Get me some cigarettes too, huh?” he mumbled, taking out his wallet and avoiding eye contact.
He was a mess.
He stared at the glass case of baked goods, unable to resist the pull from his sweet tooth, and asked for two donuts as well.
He arrived back home rather pleased with his haul. He had enough in him to pack away most of it, before he stared down the booze he bought.
He could...not do this, actually. He could not drink. It was easy, in theory.
He wiped his damp brow, licked his dry lips. His head hurt, despite the slight gloom of the kitchen.
They could sit there as an ultimate temptation. He could ignore them. He could do all manner of things.
But he wanted to drink, that was the issue. That was the whole point. Drinking was the only thing he had that stayed consistent.
He grabbed the scotch and slugged back a long mouthful, feeling everything just melt away. He let out a relieved gasp, the taste strong on his tongue and warming his throat. Felt like a part of him was back. His mind became a little clearer, his mood a little more elevated. He took a shorter swig for luck, rubbing his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Much better…”
He spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the sofa, playing video games. There wasn’t much else for him to do during the day.
Evening was his time.
When seven rolled around, Daigo got ready. His jeans and t-shirt were fine already, so all he had to do was put on his usual cross necklace to complete the outfit. He spent a while staring down himself in the mirror as he applied a shaky dash of eyeliner around his lid.
Once upon a time he shied away from doing this publicly, but since leaving jail he stopped caring. Wore eyeliner and straightened his hair. Painted his nails black and picked at the polish when he was anxious. Who gave a shit? Anyone dumb enough to say anything soon regretted it.
Keys, wallet, phone. Same routine. He chose his white puffer jacket to wear instead of his hoodie, enjoying the barrier it gave him from the rest of the world.
One quick metro ride later, he was in Kamurocho, just as the town was coming alive in a burst of neon. Daigo lost himself in the crowds, thinking of which bar to hit up first.
He paused for a moment down Tenkaichi Street, staring at the sign for Serena. Place was closed, and had been for a little under a year now.
He knew what happened last year, of course. Heard about Rina through another barkeep. Not that he’d known her well, or spent much time at Serena, but something in his chest ached hearing she was gone in such circumstances.
He soon forgot about it with another glass.
With a weary huff, he decided the Champion District on the other side of town was the best place to start. The bar he chose was quiet, no other customers, and a barman who knew when to keep his mouth shut.
Perfect.
Instead of conversation, Daigo focused on the soft jazz music playing as he nursed his whiskey. He was into heavier tunes, but he needed a bit more of a buzz before going to his favourite rock bar.
He tapped his nails against the glass, tilting his head. Good idea, actually. They did cheap shots and a big array of imports.
He slammed some cash down on the counter before stumbling into the street, glad to feel the slight evening chill on his cheeks.
Down to Pink Street, and into the rock bar he enjoyed. Already feeling at home with the heavy guitar music blasting over the speakers, most of the other patrons dressed in a similar style to him. He’d missed out on a lot of stuff whilst locked away, the slight sways in fashion that happened in such a short amount of time, but he liked knowing he was still on trend within his scene, mostly.
He sat at the counter, giving a half-grin to the girl working there, and ordered himself five shots of vodka.
His earlier drinks had been a warmup, these were the first leg of the race. The second came in the form of a large scotch, some new brand they’d started selling.
Honestly, the start to a perfect night for him, until he heard a small gasp from behind him.
“Hey! Aniki!”
Daigo’s heart sank at the voice, glancing over his shoulder. Five of the guys he usually hung around with were there – or more accurately, they hung around him.
He rolled his eyes and groaned, turning in his seat and glaring them down. He should never had shown them this place.
“What do you want?” he muttered, already knowing the answer.
“We didn’t know you were out today!” Arita cried, leaning up next to him, with that sycophantic look he always had in his eyes. As if Daigo wasn’t out every night.
“Why don’t you join us aniki?” Kubo asked, which actually translated to wanna pay for all our drinks because we’re cheap scrounging bastards?
Daigo groaned again, knocking back his glass and waving the bartender over again.
“If you quit calling me aniki.”
They didn’t, of course. They gleefully accepted the drinks he bought them with more coos of thank you Dojima-aniki. Daigo rubbed the bridge of his nose and ordered himself two double scotches, slugging them back like they were water.
“I was thinkin’ we could go to Dazzle after this,” Arita said, having not left Daigo’s side. He always babbled and talked too much, like he felt he had to fill every silence with his own voice save people be left alone with their own thoughts.
“Why there?” Daigo asked, thinking of all the things he’d rather do more than go to a hostess club, including and not limited to slamming his face into a lit stovetop and drowning in a hot tub.
“I just think the girls there are really underrated, y’know? I like that they have some slightly older gals, I love a mature lady. How about you?”
Daigo shoved a shard of ice from his glass into his mouth and let it melt on his tongue. “Come on then.”
He was paying for two hours and that was that. At least he could get a bottle for himself and work through that, sitting at the edge whilst the others enjoyed the girls’ company.
Dazzle might have specialised in more mature women, but the decor was a nightmare like every other hostess club. Why’d they always insist on so many sparkles, it gave him a headache.
“Um...are you enjoying yourself?”
Daigo lowered his gaze to look at the girl. ‘Mature’ really meant ‘late twenties’, and she was running on the younger side of that.
“What do you think?” he said coldly, swirling his drink in its glass.
She seemed a little dazed at this, glancing back at her fellow hostesses, but kept going.
“M-my name is Nashi. Yours?”
“Daigo Dojima.”
He clicked his tongue, emptied his glass and went to refill it, his shoulders slouching slightly. “Sorry. I don’t mean to be so short, you’re only doing your job.”
“Oh, it’s fine, I’ve had far worse responses.”
Daigo just gritted his teeth. Another reason he hated hostess clubs was he knew how other men treated these girls, saw it himself the times his father brought him along as a teen.
The least he could do was give this lady a nice conversation.
“Well, I’ll try to be a bit better than them,” he said, gesturing with his head towards the others, so loud and obnoxious.
Nashi smiled a little. “They’re not so bad. Your friends are just a bit...out there.”
He scoffed. “They’re not my friends. I don’t really...do friendship anymore.”
“Oh? How come?”
Shit. Of course, when you say something like that, people have questions. Daigo licked his lips in thought, considering how he should phrase this.
“You...don’t recognise my name, do you?”
Nashi blushed a little, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Um, well, you do have a bit of notoriety around town, Dojima-san. I know girls in other clubs, and they always talk about you.”
Daigo did a slight double take at this. “Wait, seriously?”
“Yeah. You’re a rather…” She gestured at his coat and skinny jeans. “A striking figure, you know. A lot of girls like the edgy emo bad boy look. It’s popular right now.”
“Hm, figures.” A lot of men are also fans…
Daigo sat up a little straighter, gazing Nashi down. “Do you?”
“H-huh?”
“Find me attractive?”
It was a joke, said with a dry smirk, but she flustered, clearly uneasy. Daigo grimaced, sliding up a little closer and putting a hand to her knee.
“Hey, hey. I’m kidding.” He made his smirk a soft smile, broke down the facade for just a moment to put her at ease. “Don’t worry about it.”
Nashi’s eyes went wide, but nodded, brushing down the edges of her dress.
“A-anyway, I...I’ve heard you...were involved with the Tojo Clan. Is that why you don’t ‘do’ friends?”
“Mm. Essentially.”
Daigo gave up on the glass, swigging back from the bottle which got him a funny look from one of the other patrons across the way.
“My only friend murdered my father,” he said, so matter of fact. He hesitated a moment, letting out a short huff. “Well. He went to jail for the crime, at least. He was actually covering for someone else. Either way, I was left without his guidance for ten years, thinking he had betrayed me like that.”
He paused a second, swilling whiskey around his mouth, before continuing.
“I came back to town a few months ago and...he hasn’t bothered trying to find me. Which shows how little he cares.”
“Oh. That sounds...awful, Dojima-san.”
“It sure does, doesn’t it?”
Daigo shrugged, tilting the empty bottle back so he could savour just a few more drops as best he could. “That’s just how my life is now.”
He grumbled a little as he set the bottle down, belching into his cupped hand before draping himself back against the seat.
“Sometimes you gotta deal with the hand you're given,” he added, scratching lazily at his middle, “And unfortunately, I’ve had a poor deck from the start.”
He shut his eyes before letting out a laugh, forced and hollow. “Sorry. I’m not the best at keeping things light.”
How many hostesses had he paid to listen to him whine? Then he thought how they were probably all used to it, which made it even worse.
“Well, given your circumstances…”
Nashi glanced back at her co-workers, the barely hidden looks of disdain towards the rest of the crew and their boorish behaviour.
“I’d much rather talk to you though,” she said, reaching over to grab another one of the bottles along the table, gesturing toward his glass, “You’re nice.”
Daigo swallowed, nodding in approval as she filled it to the brim. His head pounded, but he wasn’t sure if it was from the music or the cravings.
“If you say so.”
The glass was empty in a flash, and filled just as quick.
“You’re good at this,” he purred.
The bottle was empty by the time the waiter came by. Daigo had just enough mental capacity to dig through his pockets and pay, giving Nashi a shaky smile and a pat on the knee.
“Thank you for tonight. You’re great.”
His friends, on the other hand, all started to whine as the waiter began to urge them into finishing their drinks.
“Aw, c’mon aniki, let’s hang around a bit longer!”
“If you want that, pay yourself, ya cheap fucks.”
Daigo stood up, a bit too quickly as he felt the room spin. He stumbled to the side slightly, wincing as he contained a belch that very much tasted of vomit. Nope! No puking tonight. Keep it all inside.
“I’m outta here,” he mumbled, resting a hand on any available solid surface to keep himself steady as he left.
He blanked out the cries of the others as he did. He’d wasted enough time with them tonight, and he was craving something else.
“Burger,” he mumbled, squinting as he glanced up and down the street, “Pffft...that way.”
This was always the worst part of the night. Trying to sober up enough so he could keep going, or at the very least get home in one piece. Stumbling through the streets and trying not to crack his skull open.
It wasn’t just food he craved though. He felt...itchy. That was the only way to really explain it. The desire to go wild, start a scuffle. Really earn that reputation he supposedly had.
To hell with staying in one piece.
But first, Smile Burger.
The fact that the poor worker even understood what he said through his slurred words was impressive and soon he was curled up against the window, feet pulled up on the chair beside him as he made his way through a burger that tasted like the finest wagyu steak right now.
All the while, he kept his eye out.
Yeah, it felt shitty to target people for a fight like this, but he made sure it was a fair fight. Usually a few guys, who looked like they could take a hit as well as throw one, maybe even have a chance if they weren’t facing someone running on adrenaline and too much booze.
He cocked his head as he focused on a table nearby. Four men, mid-twenties, definitely young yakuza from some family. He couldn’t see any lapel pin from where he was sat, but they were perfect.
Childishly, he picked up one of his fries and threw it in their direction. It hit the back of one guy’s head, and he looked around puzzled. Daigo just threw another, chuckling as it hit him again. A bit too obvious, as he was spotted this time.
“What the hell’s wrong with you dude?” one of the four cried.
“I dunno,” Daigo said, stuffing a bunch of fries in his mouth before flinging another their way, “Target practise.”
This one hit a guy in a striking red sports jacket right between the eyes, and Daigo could barely contain the full-on cackle he let out at the expression he pulled. It was almost too easy.
He grinned when one came over and jabbed him in the chest.
“Outside. Now.”
“My pleasure.”
He followed them into a nearby side street, hands in his pockets and head held high. He liked an audience sometimes, but a private fight was fine enough.
The biggest one of them threw the first punch. He was expecting it, crossing his arms over in front of his face to block it, before kicking out at the guy’s ankles.
The whole fight was messy. The little gang clearly had never been in a proper fight, had no form. They kept punching poorly, wincing with any that managed to hit as they stung their knuckles.
Not that Daigo was any better. He was still far too drunk, but that was half the fun. Stumbling about and getting in a rough hit that frightened these kids who’d never experienced this before. He just wanted the thrill, the rush of adrenaline pumping through his veins. Anything to feel something.
Daigo landed a punch on that guy in the sports jacket, right in the middle of his face. It sent him flat on his ass, skidding down the street slightly.
“Come on!” he groaned, “Grab him, idiots! We outnumber him!”
A moment of pause. Daigo tried to catch his breath, but ol’ sports jacket was right. He was outnumbered.
Two of them grabbed his coat and pushed him back against the wall, holding him there. The third punched at his gut, over and over. Daigo gritted his teeth, tensed his stomach for every punch.
He knew he could get out of this, easily. The guys holding him were hardly doing much, weren’t even gripping his actual arms, just the sleeves of his jacket. It wouldn’t take much to duck and slip down, then send them crying home to their mommies.
“Come on!” he hissed, baring his teeth.
But he wanted them to hit him.
“That all you got?”
He wanted them to hurt him.
Sports jacket guy had gotten back on his feet now, face already starting to bruise. His fist met the middle of Daigo’s face hard, harder than they’d been hitting before. It stung, a lot, which is exactly what he wanted.
Not that it solved anything.
It never did.
“Oi!” They all froze, turning toward the entrance of the street. Daigo, semi-dazed, managed to look too, and felt his stomach drop.
Kashiwagi's expression, initially a scowl, changed the moment he saw him, shaking his head and blinking a little. “Daigo?”
He sighed heavily, storming over and waving his hand at the little gang. “Shoo. Don’t let me catch you boys doing shit like this again, you hear?” “Y-yes Patriarch Kashiwagi.”
They scurried off further down the street, leaving Daigo to stand up straighter, rubbing his nose. He groaned a little as he saw the streaks of rusty red on the back of his hand, sniffling heavily. “Great.”
“Daigo…”
Kashiwagi sighed again, rubbing at his temple. “What are you doing?” “I’m just...I’m just out.” Daigo sniffed again, scrunching his nose. “Just finished dinner.”
“You know what I mean…”
Kashiwagi looked around, then grabbed Daigo by the shoulder. “C’mon. Let’s talk in the office.”
Daigo went to argue, but it only took one stern glare, the kind the older man had given him his whole life, for him to clench his jaw and follow.
Kashiwagi led the way toward the Millennium Tower, hand on Daigo’s shoulder the whole way. It felt so patronising, like that time he accidentally broke a window at the Dojima Family offices when he was ten, and Kashiwagi had done the exact same gesture, marching him to his mother.
“Nice upgrade,” he still said, gazing out the wide window of Kashiwagi’s office once they arrived, “From that little place on Tenkaichi.”
“Well, we make do. I’m second in command now.” Kashiwagi set down the plastic convenience store bag he’d been carrying on his desk, letting out a small, bemused exhale of air. “It’s not all bad. Now come on. Why were you fighting?”
Daigo clicked his tongue and shrugged, staring at the blinking lights below them.
“Daigo…” “I just was, okay?”
He gave a dismissive shrug, walking across the floor toward a cabinet, throwing the doors open. Kashiwagi watched him with tired eyes, slumping down in his chair. “I think you’ve had enough to drink tonight.”
“How did you know that’s what I was looking for?”
“Your breath reeks of it, kid. Your whole body does.” He took out a bento and can of coffee from the plastic bag, raising a brow. “And I know what you’re like, especially lately. How’s being a free man by the way? Haven’t seen you since you were released.”
“It sucks ass.”
Daigo slammed the cabinet door shut, opening another and grinning as he saw half a bottle of whiskey there, as well as some crystal glasses. He heard Kashiwagi tut loudly as he slammed both down on top of the cabinet.
“What did you expect?” he scoffed, pouring a very large measure, “Mom told me the news the moment I got out. What Nishikiyama did. That it wasn’t Kiryu. He hasn’t even come to see me, to apologise for it.”
He knocked the glass back, the sensation warm and familiar down his throat. “Hardly feel free. Just not in jail anymore.”
“What happened to the boy I knew?” Kashiwagi asked, walking over and placing a hand on Daigo’s shoulder once more. This time it was gentle, kind, attempting to be comforting. Not Kashiwagi-san, one of his father’s men, but Uncle Osamu, his mother’s best friend.
Daigo scrunched his nose up, taking another slug of whiskey. “You say that like I’ve ever been cheery.”
“Well, okay, you’ve always been a serious young man, but…”
He just shook his head, moving his hand away. He grabbed the whiskey bottle in the process, making Daigo let out a pathetic little whine.
“I’m not going to enable you any more than I have,” he said firmly, before adding, “I mean it though. You don’t need to throw your life away like this.”
Daigo didn’t reply, because he didn’t like the real answer. There wasn’t much of a life to throw away. He was doing everyone a favour with this.
“You bring me up here just to lecture me old man?” he growled, narrowing his eyes.
Still looking for someone to fight. Kashiwagi would wipe the floor with him, he knew that, but he didn’t care. He also knew he wouldn’t get that kind of satisfaction.
Didn’t mean Kashiwagi wasn’t frustrated with his attitude. He closed his eyes, clenching his fists and let out a deep exhale from his nose. “I saw your mother today. She’s been trying to call you all morning.”
“I know.” The empty glass was set down heavily, with a grunt. Daigo dug around for his phone, holding it out so Kashiwagi could see the countless missed calls and texts from her on the home screen. “I know what today is.”
“...and is that why you’re-”
“You know I’m like this anyway.” He stared at the texts, all similar in tone - Daigo, please call me. Daigo, it’s important. Are you okay? He got them most days from his mother. She was trying so hard. He didn’t want her to. He would rather she forget about him. She deserved that much.
Kashiwagi wasn’t looking at him, staring up at the ceiling as he thought of what to say next.
“I understand that...none of us could have predicted the extent of what your father was like.”
Daigo did a double take, noticing Kashiwagi immediately cringe. At least he knew what he said was stupid.
“Sorry, that was-”
“Yeah. It was.” Daigo looked up, head cocked to his shoulder. “Anyone could have guessed, really. We just pretended otherwise, because somehow he seemed to be the only thing keeping the Tojo Clan from completely falling apart.”
He was up in Kashiwagi’s face now, feeling his chest clench tight. He was working himself up over nothing, over that bastard. He hated it, but thinking of what his father did to get himself killed, the kind of man he was, it made his skin crawl.
“He deserves to spend every birthday after what he did having the most miserable time in hell,” he said with a hiss, noticing his voice wobbling, “I know it. You know it. But Mom refuses to let go-”
The slap felt cathartic, for both of them. Daigo shut his eyes and nodded as his cheek stung. He deserved that. He was trying to provoke that kind of reaction and got exactly that.
“I take back what I said. That boy you were is still there. An insolent brat,” Kashiwagi said, walking back to his desk, “Daigo, one day, you’re going to have to grow up. You can’t keep doing this until you die.”
He threw a semi-sympathetic look over his shoulder, but Daigo mostly felt it was piteous. That’s what he was. A pitiful, useless mess.
“Go home, Daigo. Call your mother. And for everyone’s sake, don’t have anything else to drink tonight.”
Daigo sucked in through his teeth and nodded again as he walked toward the door.
“...good night, Kashiwagi-san.”
No response. Yup. I deserve this.
He made his way home in a daze, everything working in automatic. Kashiwagi’s words kept echoing in his head, over and over.
You can’t keep doing this until you die.
Because that’s what he was trying to do, wasn’t it? Die. Suicide by hedonism. He was born already holding the worst hand life could deal, and he was never going to get anything better. After his father was killed, the one tiny scrap of potential good he could have in his life was gone, even if that prospect was a life of crime.
So why not? Why should he grow up when there was nothing to grow up for?
The moment he was inside his apartment, he slid down the door, staring blankly ahead. He’d needed that talking to, he needed a few really, from people who were currently pretending like he didn’t exist. That’s what he really needed. For Kiryu to talk to him, apologise for ruining his life, try and talk some sense into him. He always knew what to do.
But it was like he didn’t exist. Kiryu didn’t care. Kashiwagi tried to care, but knew he was a lost cause. Who did care?
Daigo opened up his phone again, staring at the missed calls and sighed. That’s who cared. Mom.
He should talk to her. He knew he should. He was an awful son who loved his mother very much, which is why he knew she deserved better. She was trying despite knowing she’d made mistakes, but he just couldn’t let that go.
He hovered on her number, ready to press the button to call...but instead he tossed his phone to land on the couch, walked to the kitchen and wrapped his fingers around the neck of the vodka bottle still on the counter.
He licked his lips, swallowed heavily...but let go, pushing it away.
“You win this time old man,” he grumbled, picking up an energy drink and the donuts he’d bought earlier in the day instead. Kashiwagi could never be allowed to know that though.
He knew this self-control wouldn’t last long. Come morning, he’d be shaking again, a hangover banging in his skull, and he’d be dragging himself towards that bottle like it was the source of life.
The same thing every day.
He wouldn’t have it any other way.
He couldn’t have it any other way.

Parenthood. Some are ready, preparing for the day they become a parent and yearning to become a parent for as long as they could remember. Others, however, may accidentally become parents and sometimes have to force themselves to deal with it.
For you and Bakugou, becoming parents was the last thing the two of you wanted to become.
It’s not that you didn’t want to have kids, it just wasn’t expected, especially since the two of you are still yet to get married and the idea of having a child out of wedlock didn’t sit well with the Japanese public.
However, despite how worried you were about what people would say about two of the biggest pro heroes raising a child without being married, Bakugou couldn’t care less about what other people had to say.
“Open your mouth, Kirua,” Bakugou said, holding a spoonful of what he perceived as puréed baby mush. His son kept his lips closed, staring blankly at Bakugou. Bakugou sighed, knowing full well the only way for his son to understand him. “Say ‘ah.’”
Kirua’s little voice murmured the word “ah” as he opened his mouth and ate his puréed food.
“You know, your mom really needs to hurry up with those groceries ‘cause right now, this shit that you’re eating is looking pretty good,” Bakugou grumbled annoyingly, getting another spoonful ready.
Kirua started giggling as Bakugou fed him. Bakugou narrowed his brows at his son. “You think this is funny?”
Kirua continued to look up at his father with a large grin, his two little barely there teeth poking through. “Is this all you do? Smile at me like the cutest fucking thing on this planet?”
Kirua started opening and closing his mouth, babbling random sounds as Bakugou cleaned up the leftover food on his face. A wave of relief hit him as he heard you park your car in the driveway.
He turned to Kirua. “Stay there.” Kirua looked at him blankly, as if trying to convey to him that he was a twelve month old baby that had no control over his legs at the moment, especially due to the high chair he was trapped in.
Bakugou went outside waiting in front of your car, crossing his arms over his chest. You were too busy trying to get the bags out of the car to even notice him, nearly dropping everything once finally noticing him.
“You scared me, Katsuki,” you stated, having to stand sideways just to see your husband.
Bakugou continued to have his notorious frown on his face as he took the majority of the bags from your arms with ease. “You took two and a half fucking hours just to buy groceries?”
“I didn’t mean to, I swear! I was about to check out but then a bunch of these guys recognized me and wanted my autograph and pictures and a huge crowd formed so I could barely get out of the store!” You exclaimed.
Bakugou scoffed. “A bunch of guys were bothering you and you didn’t even call me?”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “A bunch of teenage boys were showing their appreciation to their hero.” You went towards him and kissed his cheek. “At least you got some quality time with Kirua since you’re always so busy with work.”
“Whatever.”
You looped your free arm around his bicep while the two of you walked back inside and set the groceries in the kitchen. “Am I cooking dinner today?”
“Absolutely not,” Bakugou stated adamantly as you went over to Kirua and scooped him up in your arms.
You looked at your husband with offense. “Excuse me, just because I’m not Gordon Ramsay 2.0 like you, doesn’t mean I’m awful.”
“Babe, there are many things that I love about you, but your cooking is not one of them.” Bakugou began sorting through the things you bought.
You looked down at your son, pouting slightly. “It’s okay, Kirua, Daddy’s just being mean because he doesn’t know what to do with himself when he’s finally given a day off and not be a party pooper for once.”
Bakugou side-eyed you and you stuck your tongue out at him, going over to the living room and watching TV. Kirua laid against your chest as he began mumbling gibberish as if he was talking back to the TV.
You sat him on your lap so that he was facing you. “Kirua, I need you to say ‘mama’ as your first word, okay? I know it’s scientifically proven that babies find it easier to say ‘dada’ than ‘mama,’ but you’re going to make an exception, okay? After all, you are the son of the valedictorian of U.A. and one of the top heroes in the world.” You felt so proud and smug of yourself as Kirua looked back at you blankly.
He started speaking gibberish again and you shook your head, enunciating as clearly as you could. “Ma-ma.”
The gibberish continued as Bakugou walked into the room, seating himself next to you.
“What happened to dinner, Gordon Ramsay?”
Bakugou gave you look. “Shut up, I’m way too fucking tired after looking after that little shit all day.”
You narrowed your brows at him. “Hey, I told you to stop cursing around him. His first word will be a swear word before it’s an actual coherent word.”
“Whatever.”
Bakugou puts his arm around you as he scooted closer to you. You looked up at him. “You know, I can just cook today. I know you’re tired after taking care of Kirua.”
“No, you’re ten times more tired than I am after busting your ass out there today.” He gestured to the TV. Sure enough, a news anchor was covering a story about you evacuating an apartment building after a vicious fire burned the whole building down.
You smiled, leaning against Bakugou. “You know, you’re really cute, Katsuki.”
“Shut up.”
Kirua looked at you, giggling. You and Bakugou continued to watch the daily news as Kirua’s gibberish filled the air.
About halfway through an enthralling story, Kirua placed his hand on your shoulder, as if trying to get your attention.
“What’s wrong, sweetie?” You asked.
Kirua smiled before saying, “Fuck.”
Despite the TV in the background, the room was silent before Bakugou broke that silence. “Who the fuck taught you how to say that?!”
“You can’t be serious.” You looked at your husband dumbfounded. “From now on, we can get a babysitter to look after him.”
“Agreed.”

Today, June 28th 2019 around noon, my baby boy Kit passed away in my arms. He was 17 human years old, 95 cat years old. He outlived his kidneys, but he hung on for two days, so we could prepare and give him the end he deserved.
Today, I’d like to share the life of the little angel that changed mine forever.
Some time in October 2002, when I was 9 years old, my Mother and I walked into a pet store we’d never been to before, and right at the front doors was a large cage holding one mother cat and a full litter of kittens, all around 5 months old.
The one little black kitten caught my eye, and in that instant I knew. I knew he was meant to be mine. I couldn’t take my eyes off him. I begged my Mother to let me hold him, and she eventually agreed. The store clerk opened the door and let me pick him up, and he instantly melted in my arms, and completely stole my heart. He was completely and utterly relaxed, and even though I was a complete stranger, he was completely at peace letting me cradle him in my arms like a baby, looking up at me with the most beautiful green eyes I had ever seen.
I knew in that moment that I couldn’t leave the store without him. I just couldn’t. I begged my Mother to let me have him, but she worried about the logistics of introducing two cats in a very cramped two bedroom apartment that already had 3 people and a 2 year old cat that was notorious for not liking other animals.
She eventually forced me to leave him behind for the night, assured by the store clerks that he would still be there tomorrow. I spent the rest of the day making my case. He’s a black cat, we love black cats. His (temporary) name is Uncle Fester, Wednesday and Morticia Addams were my role models and the Addams Family movies were our favorites to watch around Halloween, alongside Hocus Pocus. And once I pointed out to her how he let me hold him, how relaxed he was, she too was convinced, and it was time to tackle convincing Dad.
But that too didn’t take long. He captured all our hearts, and the next day I walked out of the store with my sweet boy, whom we renamed Kit, after the witches’ familiar from the TV show Charmed. A name I very quickly came to love and took as my own nickname, leading to many funny looks when I would talk about him.
Tumblr media
One of the first things we did upon getting him home was give him a bath. The cage he had been in was small, but tall, but it seemed only the mother cat ever left the bottom half. Holding a litter of at least 8 kittens, there was only one small litter box and one food and water bowl. My sweet baby had poop dried on the end of his tail and old food all over his feet.
He didn’t mind the bath. He was so curious about the water, and even played with it, splashing around in it and exploring.
Tumblr media
Our other cat, Tiggeriss, knew something was up, and she clawed and hissed at the door. It seemed Mother’s worries were well founded. We couldn’t keep them apart. He was curious about her, and she, the Queen Bee of the house, demanded loudly to be made aware of who had entered her kingdom.
We couldn’t get in or out without them trying to dart in or out. Eventually, we put him back in the carrier and brought it into the tiny living room. Tiggeriss was on it in a second, sniffing wildly. I opened the carrier and he walked straight out, innocent little boy that he was. but in that moment, magic happened.
She hissed at him, and in an instant he plopped over onto his side and exposed his belly to her, submitting to her completely. She sniffed him for a bit, and began giving him a bath.
20 minutes later, they were curled up together taking a nap, like they’d known each other their whole lives. Inseparable, as they’d be for the next 17 years.
Tumblr media
He fit into our family perfectly, though it still took some adjusting. We had a black mat at the front door, and often on our way out we’d see nothing but two little green eyes looking back at us, the void swallowing the rest of him whole.
Tiggeriss was still always the Queen Bee, but she clearly considered him her son and treated him as such. When they’d eat, she’d let him have any extra of hers he wanted. When we tried playing with her, all strategic and allowing her to track and hunt the toy, he’d come plowing in like the silly little kitten he was and go nuts.
But it also went the other way. Tig hates car rides, panicking every time we have to take her somewhere. She’d scream and yowl and pace around the car staring out every winder desperate for an escape. But Kit? He was as calm as he ever was. On trips where we’d have to hit the highway he’d get a little car sick at first, but otherwise he stayed calm, and that in turn kept her calm.
Tumblr media
We moved into a nice house, and bought them a brand new large scratching post, one twice as tall as I was, and almost still is. They loved it, of course. and it still sits beside me as I write this now, showing all the love it’s gotten for the last 17 years.
Tumblr media
He was the snuggliest, most affectionate baby. His relaxed and trusting nature never wavered, even around rowdy children. My friends dubbed him “Mush”, for how he would just melt in your arms without a care in the world, and “Mr. Underfoot” for how he’d always follow you around, and constantly be “underfoot” and in the way, just to be around you more.
Tumblr media
And he was always, so, so curious. Always wanting to discover new things, new smells, new experiences. Seemingly he’d forget about his exciting adventures the year before, so every winter he’d discover snow all over again.
Tumblr media
He became our wonderful Halloween cat, always enjoying being outside and seeing all the kids coming around with us. Sometimes it’d get to be a bit overwhelming, but he’d still enjoy sitting inside the glass door and watching. He was the best living Halloween decoration we ever had.
Tumblr media
My Father, who always claimed to dislike cats and felt dogs were so much better, warmed up to him very quickly, deciding Kit was his cat. We would playfully argue about it often, fighting over who got to lay claim to the cat he didn’t want in the first place.
His days were spent ether on Dad’s bed, my bed, or at the foot of my recliner, snuggling with my feet or in my lap, when he wasn’t playing with one of us or Tig.
Tumblr media
He was the most loving cat you’d ever meet. I was always horribly bullied in school. I always assumed that if my classmates themselves didn’t kill me, the stress would. I never bothered to think about my future because I assumed I’d never have one. I had resigned myself to a short life, but then I’d come home to his squeaky little meow, the meow that never deepened no matter how old he got because he was neutered a little too early. And I knew I’d be ok. I had to be. I couldn’t leave him behind. He needed me and loved me and I refused to die on him or Tiggeriss, no matter how bad things got.
Because I knew, as soon as I looked into his eyes, those eyes that loved me unconditionally, who didn’t care about me being gay, or my terrible pimples, who didn’t think I was stupid and ugly and worthless, and I knew that was all that mattered. HE was all that mattered.
Tumblr media
Those big, beautiful green eyes, gems adorning the velveteen little rumbling furnace that was our beloved never ending ball of fluff.
In fact, we even got a very nice, fancy comb we were warned was so good it was known to cause a balled spot if we combed him in the same spot too much.
We tried once, just to see if we could. We never made a single dent in his fur, no matter how hard we tried.
And his fur was the softest thing I’ve ever felt. It was like owning a large chinchilla, lost in the void of a starless night. Soft, and shiny, with a rumbling motor boat underneath that you could hear from the other side of the room, especially when he got chin scritches, his favorite place for affection.
Tumblr media
Once he hit late adulthood, he developed arthritis. It became hard for him to walk and climb, which meant he spent more time snuggling with one of us than he did playing and exploring anymore, but he seemed to get just as much comfort out of it as we did. He always knew when one of us needed a snuggle, like when I got home after having my wisdom teeth removed. I crashed in my chair instantly, but according to Mom, he climbed right up with me and curled up under my arm and napped with me all day.
Tumblr media
No matter how much changed as he aged, how active he was, how well he could walk, how aware he was of himself and his surroundings, some things never changed.
He still loved making things difficult because he just wanted to be close to you,
Tumblr media
He still loved lying in the sun and munching on the grass just outside our home,
Tumblr media
He and Tig would still climb all over me when morning rolled around and they were hungry,
Tumblr media
He still loved his favorite spot next to me on my bed,
Tumblr media
And snuggling with his loved ones. Even on his last days.
Tumblr media
He knew the end was near. When we took him to the emergency vet, she said she was shocked he was still alive, as he was in such bad shape he could go at any moment. He could have just as easily died the night before, but he hung on. He hung on one more night for us. So we could prepare, so I could have one more night with him in my arms. Just one more night.
And there is nothing in the world I am more thankful for than him, and the love he showed me for the last 17 years.
Tumblr media
Rest in peace my angel.
You will forever be loved, and never, ever forgotten.

Wicked Child | Feeding Habits #2
Hey People of Earth!
I’m back with another writing update for Feeding Habits (Moth Work #2) at last!
Tumblr media
A few things since the last update: this project is 100% going to be a novel and also has a title (Feeding Habits)!
Chapter two has been sort of strange to write as I actually had written a majority of it before starting over after realizing the events I’d written needed to happen later. This is why it’s taken me a while to update on this book, but I’ve finally completed the chapter and am now here to share it with y’all!
Here’s a scene breakdown of this chapter, which is probably the longest chapter I’ve written in years (6300 words). Buckle up, this update is THICC.  TW: lots of religious content in this one.
Scene A:
We go through Lonan’s lonely morning routine (lol) that’s interrupted by Anya, a neighbour he vaguely recognizes. She’s there to take him up to her apartment to paint her kitchen as her husband is away and can’t do it, a plan he was not aware of! (Eliza’s voluntold him to hopefully distract him from wanting to help his friend which is outlined in update #1).
Scene B:
Anya dips before the scene starts to grab some extra supplies to make Lonan some sourdough so Lonan is tasked with watching her young son Joey while he tapes up the baseboards. This is where the “wicked child” aspect of this chapter comes in as he compares the wickedness he feels he and others in his life possess to the full innocence of Joey.
Scene C:
Anya gets back from running errands and at first, seems to be a *chill mom* but as she and Lonan interact more, we get to see that something isn’t fully right with her. From some observation, Lonan finally figures out Anya’s husband is actually dead and she’s struggling with grief.
Scene D:
Lonan is back in his apartment, filling up his bathroom sink. We know from Moth Work that one of Lonan’s hobbies is holding his breath underwater, and he does this in this scene to think. In the middle of this ritual, Eliza gets home and speaks to him as she unwinds, reading rather cryptic notes from fortune cookies she’s brought home with takeout.
Scene E:
Unbeknownst to her, Lonan’s not staying for dinner as Anya invited him to her place as a thank you! However this news doesn't break well and the two bicker until they’re both successfully upset.
Scene F:
Instead of going to Anya’s for dinner, Lonan finds himself at a church confessional. He stumbles through reconciliation in a bit of a haze and eventually heads outside where a concerned mother and her two kids ask if something’s wrong. His thoughts from scene D overwhelm him and he eventually sort of gives himself up to the moment in a bit of a chokehold with the sun.
Though this chapter took a while, I’m happy with the threads I introduced and really got to see Lonan’s mind at this point in time--a sort of lonely state of living. There’s also a lot of religion related stuff in this chapter which is always interesting to write as someone who grew up Catholic, and I was surprised at how pertinent these themes are in this book.
Excerpts:
Here’s the opening bit:
The next morning, Eliza leaves two energy shots on the counter for him, along with a slice of sourdough she bought from the bakery across the street. Both sit on a breakfast tray, room temperature from sitting out too long, icebergs of ginger floating along the glass’s surface, butter on the bread gone pallid and spongy. Next to it, she’s left a note, as she usually does: green casserole in the fridge, running low on OJ.
Lonan retrieves the television remote from the nook between the knife block and flicks the TV to life as he drinks the first shot. Gingerroot—and this morning, a new addition, carrot stems—mush against his incisors, and he swallows just as the TV brightens to an image of some amphibian, a leafy looking treefrog. The crank of their calls bulge like each red eye, the familiar husk of narration outlining the workings of mating. Lonan scoops up the second shot with his pinky and the saucer of sourdough with his index finger and thumb, takes both to the couch where he sits.
Classic Lonan (TM) interaction:
He’s mid chewing the stale crust when he opens the door, expecting a package delivery, an unaddressed sympathy card. Instead, a woman stands in the door, her hair damp and smelling like the coconut salve Eliza rubs onto her kneecaps. He recognizes her face in a fleeting, neighbour-like way, someone he might’ve held the door open for, or let step off the elevator first.
“Breakfast?” She points to the crumb stuck to the corner of his mouth.
Lonan swallows the remainder of the sourdough quickly, combing off the crumb with a shallow smile.
“Sourdough.”
“Did you make it yourself?”
“It’s probably from the back of our medicine cabinet.”
The woman laughs at this, though he’s not fully meant for it to be a joke.
Apparently a new motif in this book is the word stunning that both serves as a descriptor for something magnificent/dazzling and the process of subduing an animal (love being heavy handed about this lmao):
She peers at their half-bloody kitchen wall. “You’re doing red?”
“Eliza’s vegetarian.” At the woman’s blank stare, he turns to look at the wall, examining each plane of his throat as hot embarrassment makes him red like the paint. “Her favourite colour. We’re trying something new. Avant garde.” All things he’s heard Eliza say.
“That’s unique. Very. So unique,” she says, adding, “It’s so kind of you to offer some help while you’re in the middle of painting your own kitchen. When Eliza told me about your offer, I danced in my living room. Is that weird? I danced because I’m going to have a green kitchen—a green one.”
Lonan nods, and steps farther back into the apartment, toward the stack of paint rollers, one of many rolls of tape. “Of course,” he says.
“It makes you feel alive,” the woman says. He forgets what she’s referring to, doesn’t know her name, only vague details like the jeweled bangles she wears on one wrist, the shiny cast of hair gel stirruped around her curls, her teeth, white, like the canines of a wolf. But she doesn’t seem to notice, a starriness in her gaze as she says, “The paint. The green. It’s stunning. Isn’t it?”
Anya’s initial dialogue is some of my favourite I’ve written. Probably because of the moon mention lol. Also Joey’s just chillin and I love him for that!!
Tumblr media
The woman’s name is Anya, and she lives three floors up. He finds this out at the same time he finds out Eliza offered to paint her kitchen on his behalf, though what Anya says sounds more like “When Eliza told me you’d paint the wall, I could’ve—what is that saying? I could’ve jumped over the moon. I would’ve. The entire thing. All its phases.”
Anya’s got a toddler named Joey. He’s turning two next month, a little boy with a curly halo for hair, two dimples Lonan sees whenever he glances up from his tape-job of the baseboards. Joey eats apple slices dipped in almond butter and watches cartoons with both feet propped onto the couch cushion, too short to dangle down. Ever so often, he laughs, a shimmery sound, like the inside of a snow globe. Lonan half-watches him, as Anya’s asked—He’s good, don’t stress—if he cries, he wants you to turn up the TV—because she’s out of bread flour and insists on making Lonan two loaves of sourdough.
Some Joey:
Tumblr media
“Joey’s good, isn’t he?” she asks, her fingers curving around the tape company’s logo. Lonan inhales. Anya smells like Eliza sometimes does, vaguely floral, like jasmine, or cherry blossoms. “Children are little blessings. Powerful little blessings.”
Of course, he should say. There’s no other way to describe a child—he’s a blissful little thing, his only purpose to keep his feet in his two-inch socks, to stare wistfully at a television like it’s telling his fortune in a language of pictures. Of course a child is a blessing—soft cheeks like the belly of bread dough, pinchable, kissable, thumbable, hands dipped into glittery tempera paint and fingers that make chicken scratches that will never be anything but art. Of course, he should say. He knows that, he should say. But Lonan’s vision fuzzes. He sees little of the TV colours projected on the walls like a hypnotic, technicolour exorcism; he doesn’t remember what it’s like to be that small, what it’s like to have his hands expand right in front of him, like seedlings.
Here’s the title drop ft. a rewritten Bible verse (Revelation 21:8):
Tumblr media
He wants to believe children are always powerful little blessings that stay good. He doesn’t know why he doubts her. Joey is just this—a blessing on her couch, smiling at a screen because it’s all he needs to do. But he knows better, knows the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable exist, where they all live, and how they all start—as little blessings. He’s met murderers, liars, sorcerers in the shape of his father, sisters, mothers, all the wicked things that emerge from their second deaths unscathed. He doesn’t know what makes a child wicked. If he is one. If he’s been one. How many wicked children he knows.
Eliza hasn’t returned any of Lonan’s phone calls since he tried dialling somewhere between the first and last half of the wall. It’s obvious Anya knows he wasn’t aware of the plan, which is why every few minutes, she states new reasons for her forgetfulness with the time. “Eliza ran into me in the hallway, and I’m so bad at hallways,” she said, while rolling the dough between her knuckles. “So many turns.” Brushing her benchtop with more flour: “Time as a mother is such a commodity. It’s like, what’s the down payment for five minutes alone? But Joey’s worth it. Joey’s always worth it. He’s just magnificent. Can’t stay away from magnificence.”
More interactions I adore:
“You want some OJ?”
Lonan looks up from the paint blankly, focusing on Anya in an embarrassingly slow haze. “What?”
Anya reaches over to the fridge and tugs on its stainless-steel handle. It gives with a haunted sound, a subtle sort of groaning, and emerges with a glass bottle of orange juice.
“OJ,” she says, and shakes the bottle so the liquid froths.
“Oh,” he says. Green casserole in the fridge. Running low on OJ. “We’re low on that.”
Okay sorry but I’m so in love with Anya and Lonan’s interactions lol:
“Where are you from again?” She undoes her apron from the back with one hand. It falls, a lilac clump, onto the tile, and she leaves it there, only nudging it slightly with her toe.
Her eyes are golden too. Everything in her apartment. Even the silver parts are somehow gold. How much she could pawn off for eyes like those, like individual buttons of solid gold. Anya squints, and there the gold goes, focusing on him until she leans forward and plucks a strand of hair from his jaw. It sags with green paint, and before he blinks, she’s clipped it with a pair of kitchen shears.
“You got some paint on you.”
“Oregon,” he says. “Boston. New York.”
“What?”
“You asked where I’m from.”
Anya pockets his hair. He’s sure it’s a subconscious tick—she hasn’t even realized—but still, he wonders what she’ll do with it. If she’ll send it somewhere to get scanned, bagged, tested. How much you can find out about someone with just a nib of hair.
“That’s a lot of places,” she says. “You’re basically transcontinental.”
From her pocket, Anya’s hand twitches. He wonders what she’s doing, if she’s touching the hair, or flaking off its paint, or simply flattening out her pocket.
“Are you going to clone me?” He gestures to her pocket.
Anya doesn’t look.
“I could.”
“Why?”
“You paint walls fast. You’ve got nice hair.”
“Do you collect hair?”
“Just from the people I like.”
We get to see Anya unravel a little here as she and Lonan share a drink:
He’s always been good at watching. This is what he does as Anya pulls a miniature bottle of a deep amber liquid from her fridge along with the orange juice, mixing them together so what he pushes toward him smells like ammonia. She drinks half, an easiness as she swallows, and then slides the glass to him.
He leaves it there for a while. He watches Joey, how he claps when more animals show up on screen and gets quiet during the wrangle of commercials. He’s gold just like his mother, with a gap tooth that matches the man’s who grins in every photo hung neatly on the walls. A face he doesn’t remember, not even in the hazy slots he reserves for what he remembers working the hardware store. No evidence of him anywhere else, the shoes on the front mat only women’s heels or child-sized sneakers. One hook that holds one set of keys. Only the photographs.
“Where is your husband right now?” he asks. One wine glass in the sink. One coffee mug. One saucer.
“Businessman. Very busy.”
“I don’t remember him coming into the store.”
Anya takes another sip of the orange juice even though it’s Lonan’s turn to drink. Anya looks at Joey, a desperate fondness that answers Lonan’s question for him. She looks at him like she’s searching for the face of the man in the pictures, searching because she hasn’t seen it in years.
Anya really unravelling:
Tumblr media
Anya’s face is bloated and red, a soreness in her eyes like she needs to blink but can’t. Lonan instinctually reaches for her hand, and it’s then that he notices it—two wedding bands on her ring finger. Her fingertips jolt him, but her palms are warm, the skin there taut, like she’s been clutching it for years.
“I thought the wall would help. Green means new life. Doesn’t it? I read that in a magazine. That it brings new life, I mean. New beginnings. New, new, new.”
Lonan getting existential ft. the first Harrison mention so far tho I’ll probably cut it because I want it to be a little more impactful and also half of this makes no sense oops:
Tumblr media
His father is a dead man. Just like Anya’s husband is a dead man. Lonan knows so many dead men. Some that matter more than others, some names he revisits sometimes at the graveyard when Eliza thinks he’s out to run an errand as innocent as replacing a bad container of cottage cheese. He knows of men who are dead but still living, like Harrison’s father who no longer exists as a person in his dimension, but a corpse, hanging around in unnecessary things like a last name, an eye colour. Beyond men, he knows of many other dead things: dead pets, dead street names, dead countries, dead houseplants, dead first ladies.
He knows what a dead father does, what a dead heart does, that these things are meant to die—an inevitable thing; a sort of giving up of flesh, burying, toiling into new soil.
This is basically a monologue:
Lonan is in love with Eliza. He always has been. He always will be. There is nothing better than being in love with Eliza. There is nothing wrong with being in love with Eliza. There is no reason to not be in love with Eliza. Eliza is intelligent. Eliza is driven. Eliza is sensitive. Eliza tries to listen. Eliza knows how to take care of him. Eliza knows how to spell words like zolpidem, wears lipstick in the shade Very Vermillion and is delighted when it rubs onto her teeth. Eliza is lucky. Eliza is hypnotic. Eliza is a holy woman, a sacred woman, a careful woman, a wicked woman.
Lonan gulps water. Too much to keep himself controlled; he sputters, splatters the mirror. He hooks his fingers over his waterline, tugging until water falls out. He paces, chews his palms like Anya did, and steadies himself slowly from the counter to the tile. He is a wicked child. Eliza is a wicked child. Everyone he knows—all wicked children.
“Accept what comes to you each day,” Eliza says, which means she’s opened three of four of the cookies. “That’s truthful. That’s raw. That’s all you need to do.”
Some Eliza dialogue I like in reply to Lonan’s statement that he can’t do things since she bars him from driving:
“You don’t need a car to do things, Lonan.” She stirs her bowl of congee, the plastic spoon scraping against the Styrofoam. “You need hobbies. Like cross stitch. Pickling. Painting neighbours’ walls.”
Lonan and Eliza being Lonan and Eliza:
Lonan secures his fingers around the tin of madeleines and shifts once more, only for her to mimic his movement. They dance like this for a moment—his shuffle left matched by her shuffle left, his step up matched by her own. More of her mascara has smudged from where she unclumped her lashes, a lazy slash of colour like a samurai belt. Even their stares match each other—as he bores through her with a nimble focus like it’ll move her somehow, she does the same.
Here’s a line I like:
As she reddens, he adds this to his list of synonyms for baptism: to tame.
Here’s an excerpt featuring self indulgence and proof I miss Harrison:
Tumblr media
The confessional smells rank, like rotting paper and expired cologne, all of its corners seedy with overuse. Scratches mar the fabric he rests his elbows on, like someone clawed into it while reliving their sins, track marks on the floor from a rainy day. He can’t imagine anyone else but him in this small box, caged in by the lattice, mumbling incoherent sins to the priest he hasn’t even committed. Stealing a set of glass eyeballs from a garage sale. Forgetting his wedding anniversary. Missing Easter Sunday mass to go whale watching. He doesn’t sign himself at the right times or speak at the right times or thank the priest at the right times. He lies when he’s asked if he’s lied since his last confession. He mentions nothing of drinking with Anya, of not saving the sheep or the bunnies even though he knew the outcome of their lives without finishing the program. Of being a wicked child, of knowing wicked children, of not knowing the difference between wickedness and innocence, and which one he learned first. He says his name is Luka. He works at a law firm. He’s married to a Harriet, a seamstress or a stock broker or an antiques trader—he doesn’t know. He likes golfing, parcheesi, drinking martinis on yachts. He’s never overindulged, he’s loyal to his woman, he wants three kids and a house with finished floors and no neighbours. He’s a good father, a gentle father, a careful father, no wickedness, just an empty shell of goodness, like a father should be. His father is retired, and visits him on weekends—they play checkers, paint birdhouses, keep a distance but toast with spirits he can’t pronounce. Everything is good—it’s all good, all good. That’s not a sin, the priest should say but they laugh—it’s good to be good. Children are good, marriage is good, fathers are good, everything an iteration of good. By the time his confession is over and he’s well on his way out of the church mumbling I am heartily sorry, he believes his lies are true—he’s absolved into someone new, Luka married to Harriet, three kids, an empty shell, dreamily stumbling through a house with finished floors that’s actually just the sidewalk until a woman passing by with a two small children has to help him sit on the curb.
This image gives me Forever & Ever More by Nothing But Thieves vibes (music video was def inspo):
Tumblr media
She asks if he needs something to drink, if he needs someone to call, and emerges with a half-empty bottle of sparkling water and a cell phone. She asks what’s wrong with his eye, and he doesn’t know what’s wrong with anything—with eyes, with children, with sins, with confessions, with baptisms, with orange juice, with madeleines, with wickedness, with practicing how long he can breathe underwater because he knows it’s possible just like walking on it.
One of the children, hair pulled into two plaits secured with pearlescent butterfly bobbles, pokes at her mother and asks if he’s crazy. Her mother shushes her at the same time her older sister shows him a cool trick she learned with a toy convertible. Its wheels whir. Lonan gasps. The girl says, “Even crazy people think I’m gifted,” and wheels the car again. People stop to watch. Church bells gong an elegy he’s sure he’s heard before. The woman’s sparkling water dribbles from his mouth and dampens his dress shirt. Sun eclipses his face and eats at his throat like a parasite, like it knows all the unclean things about him, a watcher, an eyeball, a scorching little thing that bullets through his neck like the tooth of a wolf. The woman shushes her children and asks if he’s got a health problem, a drug problem, any problem, and he could say yes to all three but instead keeps repeating I am heartily sorry, I am heartily sorry. And when she does call someone, no one he knows, he leans against the cool pavement, cranes his neck to the sky, and parts his lips so the sunlight fills his mouth.
So that’s it for this update! I haven’t really been drafting lately, but I hope I can get more of this written because I love sharing!

Tumblr media
I went alone for the walk today, doesn’t bother me but Robyn woke up late and also Fenty is being a little pain with her crying, so she stayed at home and I am alone. Being off social media has been a blessing, but I do find myself checking my phone and have nothing there to look on. I did try twitter, but I am not feeling it like that, it’s boring but Mijo has told me that I need to come back and take care of the business I left, Ant wants me back. I did like run off here, but I don’t want. to go back, I just want to stay here now. I am comfortable with the peace, the open fields and it’s a weird feeling to be spoken too like I am only normal, it’s calm “hi there” some older gentleman waved at me “you remember me? We met at the pharmacy” squinted my eyes at him yanking Zeus back as he tried to sniff him “oh yes, you told me you seen me around and you live around here. We meet again” getting my hand out to him “we do, I saw you yesterday, but you had your Rihanna with you, I didn’t want to harass you now” I chuckled “it’s ok, she won’t mind. She says I need to make friends; I am sure she won’t mind you now unless you’re a bad influence on me” he just laughed “maybe back in my youth but I have the missus at home, she is driving me crazy, so I walked out. You should come over and visit, I told the grandchildren I met a gentleman named Chris and they said Brown, I goes possibly. He is just a nice young man, and what a beautiful dog” looking down at Zeus “yeah, I bought him with me from Cali, I couldn’t’ leave him behind. I have so many other dogs but he made the cut” watching him pat Zeus’ head, Zeus is staring like he is about to give him treats “nice seeing you, we will meet again I am sure of it” nodding my head “and I will visit your home of course, I need to know my friend now” I chuckled “you do that son” he has such a weird and funny accent, it’s so strong too and I like it.
Throwing Zeus leash to the side, this home has been more entertaining and loud too like now. Taking off my jacket and making my way to where the commotion is, Robyn has been ever so happy with everything, like we are all getting along just the weakest link left the chat so who cares. I hope they ain’t annoying my daughter with all the loud noises and shit, they have music on too. I stopped midway just looking at Noella, Majesty and Robyn in the kitchen “you’re back!” Robyn half shouted over the music “clearly yes, y’all singing or cooking?” I questioned; Robyn stuck her tongue out at me as she made her way around the kitchen counter “I could stay awake just to hear you breathing” Robyn sang to me “Watch you smile while you are sleeping, while you're far away and dreaming” I laughed at Robyn being stupid “I could spend my life in this sweet surrender, I could stay lost in this moment forever. Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure. Sing with me!” Robyn placed the pan at the side before she came into me, wrapping her arms around my neck “Don't want to close my eyes, I don't want to fall asleep cause I'd miss you, baby. And I don't wanna miss a thing” Robyn sang to me “you’re stupid” laughing at her “we are singing and cooking, I love you” Robyn pressed a kiss to my lips “I love you too” mushing her forehead “also your boyfriend is back, he is his bedroom, Dennis that is” oh yes, Dennis is back “I will go and seen him, and Robyn” moving back from her “keep that smile, I love you” I am excited that Dennis is here.
Knocking on his bedroom door “it’s the maid” I said outside his door “I hope the maid bought snacks, come in!” he shouted, opening his bedroom door “my man, welcome the fuck back with extra luggage!?” his room is filled with cases “I am moving in, come here. I actually missed you” Dennis climbed over the case “Robyn calls you my boyfriend now” hugging Dennis “she is jealous, I was going to tag you in a post, and I see you deleted the page. I wrote such a beautiful post too” I chuckled “you can tell me in person, I been bored without you. What did you post!?” Dennis got his phone out of his pocket “I saw you struggling on Instagram, I felt really upset for you. Everyone was getting at you for nothing, innocent man I say. Yes here, I posted it anyways” he turned his phone to me, taking his phone from him “wow, look at that smile! Too many teeth showing” I laughed, this was taken on the wedding day in Mexico “the sparkle in your eye, the happiness on your face and I captured that. I mean nobody can see much but a white background from the wall but read it friend” looking at the caption “He is a friend which I have known longer then just the months I have spent time with, he is a good man and a good heart. Misunderstood to many but not to me, here is to more memories with this man, love looks good on you, the look of happiness and nobody will take that from you” I read out, that got me choked up “wow, thank you Dennis. Robyn made me get rid of it but it’s the best thing to do, clear my mind” Dennis nodded his head “not just me, when you deleted it many people were worried about you, I have messages under this post from fans” Dennis took his phone from me “oh please tell me Chris is ok but you are loved, but we have some more things to do. We have got more footage to do, voiceovers also, so work is not done” I can tell Dennis has his work cut out for him.
It sucks so bad that I can only smoke in the games room because it’s classed as my own room, Robyn said I can do it in other rooms but like what if Fenty is there, so I have to be good. A blunt a day keeps the stress away, and also I am having to facetime that bitch, when I say that bitch I mean Amikka but this time she said she will let me see Aeko on his own, the facetime connected and I can just see my son stood there looking “champ! What’s good my boy?” Aeko ran over to the phone “dad” he waved at me “you look so grown, look at your ginger hair” he touched his head “yes, your hair. I miss you; I really do. I love you” Aeko ran off “I play ball, look” he ran out of the camera, god knows where he is going to get “you’re getting ball, showing dad your skills?” I can hear Amikka say “tell him how you have been doing so good at practice” Aeko is staring at his mom ad he walked back to the camera with the ball in hand “my ball, you say it” he said to his mom “tell him, say daddy I did good” my son speak so well, proud of him “I did good” he dropped the ball “show him your award, go on. Get it” Aeko ran off again, my son is just everywhere right now “you don’t need to hide, if we have to speak it had to be about him and you don’t like that” I said to her “I rather not, go on show him your award” I grinned down at the phone as Aeko placed the paper all up in the camera “awwww, I am so proud of you son” he is doing well “I come dad house now” Aeko asked, the thing is Aeko hasn’t asked that unlike Royalty that does that a lot “you will be, we just need to sort some things out and you will see me” I am taking her ass to court.
Robyn held her hand out to me, holding her hand as I sat next to her “how is Aeko?” she asked, I didn’t think she would ask about my son in front of her family but she did “he is good, showed me his awards he got from football practice, super proud of him. He looks so grown, happy I would say and then he asked about coming to me which he never has asked that before. I am guessing she has been putting it in his mind, so I am like I need to take her to court quick. She didn’t come into the camera at all, she stayed away. I think she is getting it but like, I want to feel more towards my son. I see his happiness and he does make me happy but like, I need more” Robyn squeezed my hand “that will come once you remove the toxic bitch, he can come here, and we will help get you to feel more for him. He deserves to see your love too, things will happen. Don’t worry” Robyn is such a good woman to me “thank you, you think I could have them both here?” Robyn smiled “yes of course, I mean it’s a big thing, but I married you for everything around it, including the kids. I see us being happy, hopefully this Christmas. I would like Fenty to see them as their older siblings, to know them. I feel like Royalty is fine, but your son is a little I don’t know but we shall see, don’t worry” I sighed out “thank you” Robyn shook her head “so we are going bowling, just a little time out. Well mommy said it, Noella booked a place for us” nodding my head “that is dope, I am down for it. It will be nice to do something together” we can have some fun.
Fenty is not happy at all, she keeps on having these crying performances, but she is ok once she is picked up “you want me to put her in the car seat?” I asked Noella, Robyn is still upstairs but is coming down “we will wait until Robyn is down” she has a point, god knows how long she will be, my phone started ringing in my pocket “first family outing” Dennis said, his camera is out so he is working “and it’s a disaster, we are late” answering the call from Ant “what’s up nigga?” walking around Dennis “did you get the gifts I sent?” he asked, I paused thinking “no, when did you send them? You know the UK mail can be long” walking into the second living room “Zeus, come on boy” let me put him away while we’re out “should be there soon, I got the little princess some clothes and dresses. I wanted to actually ask you, when are you planning on coming back. We need to go through some things with you, being your manager I need to be in the know and I feel like I am not” opening the garage door for Zeus to go down “that is the thing, I am literally under Robyn. Like whatever Robyn want me to do, I will do it” closing the door and walking off to see what they are doing “Robyn’ bitch then?” he laughed “not exactly, it’s called being there for your other half. Ant, if I needed to hear you just be a dickhead to me I would have asked, I am doing just fine here. I don’t think I need to be going back to Cali when there is nothing for me there, just Royalty but I will be back for her” I was expecting Robyn to dress up but she stole my sweatshirt and made it look cute, she has put minimal makeup on, she just dressed up a little bit “we ready? I have packed it all” nodding my head “I heard that you are going under Roc Nation, you can deny it all you want but you will fall under that umbrella. Fenty Brown entertainment? That has been popping up, if you don’t need me then say it, I won’t be offended” I have no idea what is happening “Ant, I don’t know. There is a lot of things in the air. Once a special project is being done then it will be back to me” I mean what else does he want “well I will be waiting” I know a lot of people are.
Climbing into back of the car next to Fenty in the car seat “it’s the longest I have heard her silent you know” she is asleep “I know, she has been just wanting nothing but snuggles and kisses. I adore her so much Chris, she even smiled at me, but I am excited to be going out, well not out out but just something, you know” nodding head “yeah, it’s a change. You know what, I don’t get why people are angry that I am with you, like you are helping me. They are calling me your bitch, it’s like they want me to be in a dark place. They want me back in Cali” I thought I would tell Robyn this, she deserves to hear it “of course they do, we will go there Chris” squinting my eyes at Robyn “would you trust me to go back there alone?” I mean that is the real question, I am sure she doesn’t “honestly, probably not. And that is not because of you but what is around you. There is a lot of temptation around and I still think you are healing from the abuse you put yourself through, I feel like your friends are pieces of shit that want you back for their own gain, that is the truth. If you want to go Chris then, I mean who am I to stop you, I say that and I am your wife, but I feel like you are an adult, but I am just on the fence. If you want to go back then” Robyn drifted off “as your wife I will let you but deep down I don’t want you too, and I know it will be stupid shit. I know there will be something like Rihanna’ baby daddy seen out with another female you just was walking with, do I need that when I am trying to build an empire with us both and trying to push away my record label and telling everyone he is a changed man. Yes fuck their opinion but I can’t hide you, you need to be an adult too. But I think you at times have lose that sense, you have your moments” I couldn’t help but laugh, I don’t know why but it’s Robyn knows me “I have a lot of things there still, if England is my home then I do need to go there” Robyn is looking at me in fear, I mean it’s scary “not now but like maybe sooner then you will be going” Robyn is not impressed.

Unforeseen dangers ch. 6
Summary:  As Peter recovers from his capture by Ross, a photo of him with Tony and the Avengers leaks and is splashed all across the media. Luckily, no one can figure out who he is and everyone thinks the buzz will die down. However, the public’s interest has been ignited. While Tony worries it’s only a matter of time before Peter’s identity is exposed, Peter isn’t as concerned. Besides, what’s the worst that could happen anyway?
Read on AO3.
________________________________________________________
“Merry Christmas!” Tony said the second Peter walked into the kitchen, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.  The delicious smell emanating from the kitchen had woken him up and eventually enticed him to leave the sleepy comfort of his warm bed.
“Merry Christmas.” He said back with a smile.  His dad’s joy was infectious.  He plopped down on one of the kitchen stools and watched as Tony finished making pancakes.
“How’d you sleep?” Tony glanced over at him and smirked at his impressive bed head.
“Good.” He shrugged.  He’d had another nightmare about Ross, but it hadn’t been terrible, and he’d been able to fall asleep right afterward, so he didn’t think Tony needed to know about it.  He didn’t want to risk upsetting him on Christmas.
Tony flipped the pancake off the pan and piled it on top of five others already stacked on a plate.  Before pouring the batter for the next pancake, he placed the plate in front of Peter, along with the maple syrup.  “Here.  Breakfast is served.”
“Festive.” Peter commented with a smile.  The pancakes had green and red sprinkles intermixed in the batter.
“Tis the season.” Tony said and turned back to the stove.
Peter shook his head in amusement and couldn’t help but ask through a mouthful of pancake, “So once Christmas is over are you going to stop wearing that god awful hat or are you planning on dressing as Santa full time?”
The corner of Tony’s mouth turned up as he patted the Santa hat perched on top of his head as if he’d forgotten it was there.  “What?  This thing?  I suppose it’ll have to go back into retirement until next Christmas.  I don’t think I have the gut or the facial hair to pull off the Saint Nick thing.”
“Hmm.” Peter cocked his head to the side and eyed his dad up and down as if considering it.
“Not funny.” Tony waved the batter covered spatula at him and went back to his pancakes.  “Keep it up and just see if you get any presents from Santa.”
Peter twisted in his stool to glance into the living room.  “Huh.  Looks like he already came and left all the presents.”
Bright, holiday themed packages overflowed under the tree.  Peter really hoped they weren’t all for him.  If they were, it was way too much.
“Yeah well Santa giveth so Santa can taketh away.” Tony joked and flipped the pancake in front of him.
Peter had purchased only a couple of presents that were under the tree.  The big one he’d gotten for his dad wasn’t there yet.  The papers declaring his new name, that Pepper had handed to him a few days ago, still sat wrapped in shiny red paper tied in gold ribbon underneath his bed.
“Those aren’t all for me, are they?” He asked after he swallowed his next bite, the plate of pancakes in front of him almost half gone already.
“You’ll have to see.” Tony answered cryptically with a smug smile.
He shook his head.  “That’s too much.”
“Hey if I want to spoil my kid that’s my prerogative.  And since this is our first Christmas together, I had a lot of Christmases I missed that I had to make up for.”
“So you went overboard.” Peter sighed in resignation.
“Maybe just a little.” Tony turned the stove off and took his plate with a measly two pancakes over to the stool next to Peter, ruffling his hair as he walked by.  “But don’t worry.  They’re not all for you.  Some of them are for the team.”
“Good.”
“But most of them are for you.”
Peter groaned.
Tony went back to eating his pancakes with a self satisfied smirk.
Peter knew arguing about the presents would be pointless, so he didn’t even try.  “So, what’s the plan for today?” He asked instead.
Tony finished the bite of pancake in his mouth and answered, “Well first, I thought we’d have this amazing breakfast I slaved over.”
Peter snorted.
“And then we can open some presents.” Tony grinned.  “Everyone wants to do a big Christmas dinner thing tonight, but until then, we have the day to ourselves to do whatever you want.  I probably should’ve asked you this earlier, but did you and May have any traditions you want to celebrate?”
“Like what?” He asked, curious instead of hurt by the mention of his aunt.
“Like, do I need to change into a suit and have FRIDAY find a church nearby for us to go to?” His dad asked jokingly but Peter could tell he meant it.
“Oh.” He shook his head.  “No.  We didn’t do anything like that.”
“Ok.” Tony gave him a nod but seemed to be waiting for him to say more.
“Um, usually we’d open most of our presents on Christmas Eve, but there were a few we’d open on Christmas morning.  From Santa.” He clarified.  Even after he’d gotten old enough to know Santa wasn’t real, May and Ben had refused to give up the tradition so Peter had started giving them small presents ‘from Santa’ as well, no matter how much they complained that he shouldn’t.
Tony’s face twisted.  “Sorry kid.  I should’ve asked about all this stuff earlier.  We could’ve opened presents last night.”
“No, it’s fine.” Peter reassured him.  He didn’t mind.  He actually kind of liked that they were doing things a little differently.  It made it easier.  “Last night was fun.  I’ve never made Christmas cookies before.”
Tony still had a look on his face like he’d just eaten something sour, but he nodded.  “Ok.  What else do you usually do?”
“Oh.  Well, after presents, we’d eat breakfast, and then we’d just sit around the apartment and watch Christmas movies all day.” He shrugged.  “And we’d eat cookies, store bought ones, and hot chocolate and stuff.  Sometimes we’d play board games.” His brow furrowed slightly as he just remembered that.  “But we kind of did that more when Ben was around.”
“Eating junk food and watching movies sounds like exactly the kind of thing I can do.” Tony nodded and went back to eating his pancakes.
“I mean we don’t have to do that.” Peter said, pushing the last pieces of syrup doused pancake around on his plate.
“Ok.  Do you want to do something else?”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know.” Tony gave him a one shoulder shrug and kept eating.  “Whatever you want kiddo.”
Peter pushed the pancake mush around some more and thought about it.  There wasn’t anything he could think of that he wanted to do.
“What did you use to do for Christmas?” He asked.
“Me?” Tony let out a dark chuckle.  “Back before I had myself more together, you don’t want to know.  It wasn’t exactly PG-13 friendly and it wasn’t happy.”
Peter’s felt his cheeks heat.  That wasn’t what he’d meant.  He was very aware of the escapades his dad used to get up to before he became Ironman and turned his life around.
“No that’s not…  I meant when you were a kid.  Did your family have any traditions?” He tried not to shrink back from asking the question.  Tony never talked about his parents, and Rhodey and a few of the others had made enough vague comments here and there for Peter to catch on to the fact that Tony hadn’t had the most idyllic childhood.
“When I was a kid…” Tony mumbled to himself as he considered it.  Peter thought he looked thoughtful instead of irritated, so the question didn’t seem to have been a mistake.  “When I was really young sometimes my mom’s parents would visit since my dad didn’t have any family left.  But by the time I was ten or so they were both gone, so it’d either be just the three of us at home, or we’d jet off somewhere for a vacation.  Mom liked to do that.  If we were at home, though, we’d have breakfast and then my mom would drag us to the morning church service.  She was Italian, and very Catholic.” Tony paused to give him a smile.
“I didn’t know that.”
“Yeah.  Dad and I hated going ,but we did it for her.  She used to tell us we were lucky she wasn’t making us go to midnight mass.” Tony let out a short laugh.  “I remember I hated having to dress up on a day that was supposed to be a holiday.  And I was always starving because we didn’t eat breakfast until we got back home.  And then we’d open presents.” Tony paused to take another bite of pancakes and he shook his head.  “That’s one thing I can say.  There was never any shortage of presents.”
Peter nodded.  He could imagine.
“And then we’d usually go to the sitting room and Dad would read, and I’d mess with some new toy or gadget, and my mom would play the piano.  Christmas music usually.  And sometimes she’d make me play.”
“You play the piano?” Peter asked, surprised.
“Yeah.” Tony smiled, and it looked like he was trying not to laugh at him.  “You didn’t know that?”
“No.” He frowned.  “You don’t even own a piano.  Do you?”  He glanced around the room as if it were possible his dad actually had a piano and he’d just never noticed it before.
Tony chuckled.  “No, I don’t anymore, but I used to.  At the house in Malibu.  It was a nice one.”
Peter figured it was probably more than nice.  Everything Tony owned was ungodly expensive, and Peter had heard of pianos that cost upwards of $50,000.  Flash’s dad had gotten one for his mom for some anniversary and Flash hadn’t stopped bragging about it for a week.
Tony quirked his head to the side as if just remembering something.  “But then I threw it at a helicopter.”
“What?” He asked in surprise.
“And then the house got destroyed.” Tony continued, patting syrup from his mouth with a napkin.  “And I never replaced it.”  He finished with a shrug.
Peter blinked, trying to take all that in.  He had to be talking about the attack the Mandarin had made on his house.  Well, not actually the Mandarin, but the tech guy pretending to be the Mandarin.  But that’d been a long time ago.
“Why not?” He asked.  If he could play the piano, he couldn’t imagine not having one around, especially if he were someone like Tony who had the space for it and could definitely afford it.
“I just never got around to it.”
Peter’s eyebrows pinched together.  He sensed there might be something more to it than that but he didn’t want to push.
“Ok…  So, can we get a piano now?”
Tony blinked.  “Do you play?”
“No.  I always wanted to learn but it was too expensive.  It’d be cool to listen to you, though.”
His dad’s expression softened and he gave his shoulder a squeeze.  “I’ll teach you.”
“Oh no, you don’t have to.”
“I want to.”
“Ok.” He agreed quietly with a small smile.
“Then how about this?  Next year you can play me some Christmas songs.”
His smile widened.  “I don’t know if I’ll be good enough by then.”
“Sure you will.”
“Ok but only if you play too.”
A slight shadow seemed to cross his dad’s face even as he smiled.  “Deal.”
“It can be our new tradition.” Peter added, remembering how they got on the topic of the piano in the first place.  “Along with Christmas sprinkle pancakes.”  He shoved the last soggy piece into his mouth.  “Mmm.”
“Good, huh?” Tony finished the remaining couple bites of his own stack.
“Delicious.”
“So, presents and then movies on the couch?” Tony suggested as he took their plates to the dishwasher.  “You sure there’s nothing else you want to do?”
He thought about it again.  He just wanted to spend time with his dad.  His family.  It was what Christmas was all about. May and Ben had drilled that into him when he’d been younger and as he’d gotten older he’d realized the truth of it on his own.  Even though he’d lost so many people in his family, he still had a family.  A group of people that might not be related to him, but genuinely cared about him just the same.  And he had a dad that loved him.  Not everyone had that at Christmas.  He considered himself lucky.
“Wait.  I know what I want to do.” He said as the idea struck him.
“What?”
“Do you think we could go to some group homes and do a meet and greet with the kids?  Maybe hand out some presents?”
“You and me?”
“Ironman and Spiderman.” He clarified.  He knew going out as Tony and Peter right now wouldn’t work since they were supposed to be keeping their father son relationship secret.
Tony’s brow furrowed as he considered it.
“I know it’s really last minute, and I guess I don’t even know where we’d get the presents…”
“That’s not the problem.”
“Ok.  Um, what is?”
“If it’s just you and me and somehow in the future the press finds out about us, it wouldn’t take much for them to connect you to Spiderman, especially if they catch us out together on Christmas day.”
“Oh.  I didn’t think of that.” It kind of bothered him that he hadn’t.  Honestly, he hadn’t been as worried about the whole press thing lately.  It’d died down and he figured if they just keep being careful then no one would ever find out Tony had adopted him.
“Let me see if anyone else on the team wants to tag along.” Tony suggested, pulling out his phone to shoot off some texts.  “We can even pair off and go to different group homes, so it’ll still be me and you, but this way it won’t be as suspicious if anything ever comes up.”
“That sounds good.” Peter nodded.
Once Tony finished texting, he stared at him with a warm twinkle in his eyes.
“What?  Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You’re a good kid.”
Peter shrugged and looked over his shoulder at the tree to cover his blush.  He still wasn’t good at taking compliments.  “So…presents?” He asked with an eager smile.
“Presents.” Tony agreed with a nod.
“This is too much.” Peter said for what felt like the millionth time as he finished opening his last present.  “You got me way too much stuff.”
“I’ve never heard a kid complain so much about getting presents.  Is this normal?  I don’t think it’s normal.  Do I need to have you checked out?”
Peter rolled his eyes.
“Do you like it?” Tony asked with a grin that’d been plastered to his face ever since Peter had started opening presents.
“I love it.” Peter turned over the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer Lego box in his hands, examining the picture on the front.  “But it’s still too much.”
Peter put it down and glanced over at the rest of his present haul, trying to keep his head from spinning.  Sometimes he forgot his dad was a literal billionaire but this had reminded him.  Tony had gotten him not one, but three, really expensive Lego sets along with the newest Playstation video game console that hadn’t even been released on the market yet, some video games to go with it, more nice clothes than he knew what to do with, a pair of sunglasses that looked like they cost more than his entire wardrobe, and a brand new laptop.
“Just let me spoil you this time.  I’ll do better next year.”
Peter snorted.  “Yeah right.”
He set the Lego box down by the others and stood from his spot on the floor to walk over to the couch to give his dad a hug.  “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome kid.”
“Sorry I didn’t really get you much.  You’re really hard to buy for.”
“I love everything you got me.  Don’t worry.” Tony gave him a squeeze and patted his back.
“Um, actually I have one more present for you.” Peter said, pulling away from the hug.
“Oh did I miss one?” Tony glanced back over at the tree.
“No.  It’s not under the tree.  It’s in my room.  Let me go get it.” He bounded off the couch to his room, excitement warring with nerves.
“A secret present you had to hide from me?  Now I’m definitely intrigued.” Tony called out after him.
Peter laughed even as his heart started to race, nerves winning out.  It took no time at all to grab the gift adorned in red and gold from under his bed and bring it back out to the living room.  He deposited it onto Tony’s lap with little fanfare, just an insecure smile, before sitting down on the couch next to his dad.
“First of all, I love the wrap job.  Why didn’t you do all my presents in my color scheme?” Tony joked, clearly trying to lessen Peter’s anxiety.
“Because they’re not Christmas colors, and this one’s not just a Christmas present.  I mean it is…but it isn’t.” Peter tried not to trip over his words as he explained.
“Now I’m even more curious.” Tony eyed the present in his lap.
“Open it.”
Tony pulled the ribbon off, flipped the present over and slid a finger through the crease of wrapping paper taped together at the back.  Peter swallowed hard as his dad removed the paper from the simple thin white box.  Tony glanced up at him briefly before he lifted the lid off.  He quirked his head in confusion at the sight of the stack of papers.
“This looks like something Pepper would give me for Christmas.” He joked and then started pulling the papers out of the box.  “What do we have here?”
“Um it’s…” Peter trailed off as he took the papers and flipped them to the end part where it would be clearer to his dad, skipping over all the other wordy legalese.  He handed the papers back and pointed.  “Read this part.”
Tony frowned but studied the papers in his hand as Peter studied him.  He could tell the exact moment his dad realized what the papers meant.  His eyebrows flew up and his mouth opened in shock as his head whipped over to look at him.
“Peter.” Tony said and Peter didn’t know if it was a good or a bad thing that he sounded gutted.  Hopefully good.
“Do you like it?  I um—”
Before he could say anything else, Tony wrapped an arm around him and pulled him into his chest, kissing the top of his head roughly.  “I love it.  I can’t even tell you how much I love it.  But kid, you didn’t have to do this.”
Peter pulled back a little so he could look up at him, and he could see his dad was tearing up.  “I know.  I wanted to.”
“It’s…  I…” Tony shook his head when he couldn’t figure out what to say.
“Wow.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen you speechless before.” Peter teased, nerves receding because he’d obviously done a good job with the present.  He hadn’t overstepped.
Tony looked back down at the papers in his hands and read the name printed there.  “Peter Parker Stark.  It has a nice ring to it.”
“That’s what Pepper said.”
“Pepper helped you?”
“Yeah she was great.  She actually had to sneak some of the pages in for you to sign when she gave you some other SI paperwork.  Good thing you never read anything, right?  Um, I hope that was ok…”
“It’s more than ok.” Tony smiled at him, eyes crinkling at the corners, still shining with unshed tears.
“Good because you are seriously hard to buy for.”
Tony laughed.
“Now I really am your son.” He teased.
Tony wrapped him back up in a hug.  “You were already my son, with or without my name.”
“Yeah I know.” And he did.  “But it’s still kind of nice, isn’t it?”
“Very.” Tony kissed his hair again.  “I love you kid.”
“I love you too.”
“Best Christmas present ever.”
“Good.” Peter smiled and closed his eyes as he relaxed into Tony’s side.
Tony gave him another loving squeeze with the arm he had draped across his shoulders.  “Merry Christmas kid.”
“Merry Christmas Dad.”

ok but imagine shawn braiding your hair when u don’t feel good 😭
Talk about timing on this - may be slightly self serving as I’m currently battling some awful nasty that’s taking residence in my system.
What you thought started out as just being overly tired and a scratchy throat from talking too much in too many meetings, became a full-blown late winter mess despite all your efforts to keep the crud at bay. You hole yourself up in the guest room, not wanting to spread this more than possible. You could work from home, take sick days if you had to. The last thing you want is to give any of this to your man. However, he has other plans. All Shawn wants to do is take care of you, the way you take care of him when he’s sick. The difference is, you can deal with the fallout if you get sick. He has obligations that require him to not be.
Please let me come in. I know how you get when you’re feeling shitty, baby. Just for a few minutes to cuddle you. I’ll wear one of those stupid face masks you bought the last time you were sick if it would make you feel better, or make you laugh. Combo of both? ;) Maybe I can find those scrubs I wore that one Halloween too…
“This boy I swear,” you roll your eyes and say out loud to the empty room you’re in.
I should send you to your parents for the rest of the week. You’ve got London in like what, 10 days? You cannot be ill for that. Andrew will kill me. Then the label people. Then Andrew again. Maybe the studio folks too. Don’t make me text your Mom.
You hear him laugh from down the hall.
You realize I can sick her on you too you know, she’d be the first one telling you to let me take care of you. And they wouldn’t kill you, I wouldn’t allow that to happen you know that. Kind of love you too much
“This mush I swear,” you mutter under your breath.
He knocks at the door, “Baby, I’m coming in.”
“I don’t wanna get you sick,” you whine, burying yourself further down in the stolen sweatshirt of his. “Go ‘way.”
“Come on sweetheart,” he says softly, lifting you up into his arms. “Shower’s running nice and warm, I’ve got the shower bomb set out, the eucalyptus wash and a new one of those sea sponges you only like to use when you’re sick. New pajamas, some of my stuff even that I know you’ll want to cozy down in. While you’re in there I’ll make some of that citrus defender tea with extra honey and lemon. Dig out the NyQuil. Change the sheets, even spray everything down with that new less toxic smelling Lysol you ordered off Amazon.”
“I can’t get you sick, you should go…” you begin before he cuts you off.
“None of that bullshit,” he replies, kissing your forehead. “You’d do this for me without a second thought, and you have, so many times. In sickness and in health remember? Oh yeah, you want us to have non-traditional vows, but same still applies, ok? Also, I’m taking your temp before you get in that water. Your forehead feels warmer than normal.”
You grumble as he places you down on the counter before rooting around for the thermometer. Once he’s found it, along with the rubbing alcohol and a cotton round, he sticks it in your ear while making funny faces at you waiting for the timer to beep off. You try your best to pout and frown at him but after one ridiculous face you didn’t expect, you can’t help but chuckle.
“There’s my girl,” he replies, kissing your forehead again as the thermometer chimes. “100.2, so a little one since I know you always run a little cooler than normal. NyQuil will help.”
He slides you off the counter and despite you trying to fight it, he pulls you into his chest. “I just want to help you feel better, that’s all, ok? Take your time in the shower, turn down the temp if it gets to be too warm and you start to feel foggy. I’ll leave the door open, so yell for me if you need.”
You nod against his sternum before pulling back. “‘M sorry I’m a cranky bitch when I’m sick,” you sigh.
“I’m probably twenty-eight times worse,” he quips, nudging you towards the shower.
After a good steam, soak and scrub, you’re starting to feel a bit more human, at least in the fact you can somewhat breathe better than you were before. Changing into the baseball tee and pajama pants he left you, you comb your hair out before spraying some product in and wrapping it up in a towel. He’s left you a purple post-it stuck to the bathroom mirror with a scribbled stick figures hugging, a smiley face and a heart. You can’t help but smile as you pull it down from the glass and slide it into the drawer with your makeup bag for safe keeping.
You wander back into the guest room where you find him in the last steps of remaking the bed. There’s a massive mug of steaming tea, a new box of tissues and a fresh bottle of water on the side table along with what looks to be a small, shallow bowl with pills and vitamins. At the foot of the bed is the soft cable-knit grey sweater he was wearing before, knowing you’d probably want to steal it from him.
“Hey, there she is. Color’s better. How are you feeling?” he asks, rounding to the doorway where you’re hovering.
“A step up from garbage maybe?” you reply, flopping cross-legged onto the bed.
“Tea, NyQuil, the plethora of vitamins, Emergen-C and herbal things you like to take when you’re not feeling you. Take all those, then let’s get you out of this towel and tucked in, ok?” he says, handing you the mug and the little bowl before sliding behind you on the bed.
Once you’ve drained a good deal of the tea and put the mug back down, he’s winding your hair our of the towel and tossing it around his shoulders.
“What are you up to there, Shawn?” you question, his hands winding through your damp strands.
“Lemme braid this for you?” he responds, massaging against the base of your skull lightly with his thumbs. “Your crazy pineapple bun is going to pull too much if your sinuses are driving you crazy, and I know you you’re still going to want it out of your face. Mum taught me one summer when Aaliyah was little, since she wouldn’t stop bouncing around me wanting to play hair salon or Barbies or Barbie hair salon maybe. But whatever, I still learned how. Nothing fancy, nothing more than a basic braid.”
You nod, sliding the hair tie off your wrist and placing it on his knee behind you. He was careful, combing out pieces with his fingers to make sure there weren’t any tangles before separating them into three sections. He takes his time, not pulling too hard but making sure there’s enough tension to keep the braid together. He hums something, it sounds familiar enough, but you can’t place it. It’s soothing, the combination of his hands in your hair and the warm reverb of his voice. Your eyes start to slip closed.
“Think this should do it,” he murmurs as he twists the end up with the black tie. “Come on pretty girl, time to get you settled in. Bet that NyQuil is just about to knock you out.”He shifts you so he can get you tucked under the fresh sheets. “There we go, snug as a bug in a rug. You just sleep, ok? Thank you for letting me help, sweetheart. I love you. I just want to make sure you’re taken care of. I don’t like not being able to help you.”
“No sleeping here for you. Too risky. Despite cuddles being good medicine. Go disinfect yourself,” you whisper, half asleep. “And thank you for being here, taking care of my cranky self. I love you too, Shawn. Lots and lots.”

Hey🌸 your blog is my fave I love all the Monty love! Could u do #21 from Drabble Challenge: 1-150 “he’s a bad kisser” I kinda had this idea where she’s excited and getting ready for a date with this guy from school that’s she’s had a crush on, turns out he’s not as great as she thought and calls Monty (her best friend) and vents to him about everything & he’s secretly happy cause he’s always liked her ... let’s just say he shows her what a good kiss feels like😉
A/N: I am so sorry this took so long. I had a hard time figuring out the date, because its been... at least 5 years since I went on an actual first date. I hope you like this. I combined a couple of asks because they asked for basically the same thing. I also suck at titles. I hope you like it!
Bad Date?
t finally happened. Dillion finally asked me out. Tonight was the night of our first date. I cannot tell you how long I’ve had a crush on him, probably since the seventh grade at least. The first and only person I wanted to tell about my excitement was nowhere to be found. I checked my watch quickly and saw that it was 3:25. Monty would be heading into the locker room to change for baseball practice. If I run there, I could probably catch him. As I looked up from my watch, I caught sight of everyone’s favourite jock. “Jeff. Hey Atkins!” I called out to him. He turned around and saw me.
“Hey flapjack, what’s up?” He asked, using the nickname the boys had given me back in fourth grade, when I snuck them all in on a Saturday morning and made pancakes while we watched cartoons.
“Have you seen Monty?” I asked, trying to contain my excitement.
“No, but I can grab him from the locker room for you if you need. Is everything okay?” He asked, mild concern etching his face.
“Yeah. No everything’s great. Would you mind? I’d go in myself but… I don’t need to see that.” I was trying not to bounce at this point. He nodded and motioned for me to follow him. As I waited for him to send Monty out, I heard the boys yelling and generally being idiots.
“Hey de la Cruz, your girl needs to talk to you. I’d hurry before she gives herself an aneurysm or something. She seems pretty eager about whatever it is.” Jeff called through the room. I heard the guys give Monty a playful hard time about it, but they knew that there was nothing romantic between us. Monty popped out of the room and I couldn’t help the brief look to his chiseled abdomen. I said nothing romantic, not that I didn’t appreciate that my best friend is hot.
“What’s up Hailey? Jeff seemed concerned. Are you okay?” He rattled off quickly.
“I’m good Monty. Actually, I’m better than good. I’m great. You’ll never guess what happened?” I sang, beginning to bounce on my heels. He watched me with an amused expression.
“Your parents bought you a new used Civic?” He asked, jokingly. I made a face and rolled my eyes.
“No you goof. Dillion asked me out.” I exclaimed excitedly. He smiled and laughed at my overly excited demeanor.
“That’s great. Need me to come over after practice? It’ll probably get cut short because of the rain.” He offered.
“Sure. He’s not picking me up until 7 so you’ll have time.” He nodded and before he could say anything, Bryce stuck his head out the door.
“Hate to break up the love fest or whatever this is, but we have to go practice Monty.”
“I’m coming. Just a second. I’ll text you when we are done and head over.” Monty said before leaning down and giving me a tight hug.
Monty was right. Practice ended at 4:15, a mere forty-five minutes after it began, so he was currently watching me pull out every item of clothing in my closet. “This one?” I asked, holding up a red sweater. He thought for a moment before shaking his head.  I shook my head and groaned, “I have nothing to wear.” I sank down on the bed beside him and covered my face “I should just cancel. You’ve said no to everything and I can’t very well go naked, can I?”
He chuckled and muttered “I mean, you could. I don’t think Dillion will complain.” I gasped scandalously, grabbed my pillow, and whacked him playfully with it. “Hey! Violence!”
“Oh please. You’re going to tell me about how violence is bad? Coach said if you screw up your full ride hand in another fight, he will skin you.”
Monty laughed heartily and tapped my knee a few times, “okay fine. Come on, get up. We need to find you some clothes to wear Missy.” I groaned again and went back to my closet. “What about that shirt with the flowers and girly shit on it? That’s cute.” I considered it for a moment before shrugging the suggested top on. I turned around and showed him and he gave me a quick thumbs up. Knowing that he isn’t exactly the most fashion forward person known to man-he wears a different variation of the same shirt everyday- I grabbed a pair of 501’s and pulled them on.
As I tackled my hair and makeup, Monty and I caught up for a while. We had both been busy with school and our own activities, so this was the most uninterrupted time we had alone together recently. “So, any big plans for the evening?” I asked casually.
“Not really. Dad is out of town visiting family or whatever, so I’ll probably just have a chill night at home with my mom. She’s trying some new chicken thing tonight, so hopefully I don’t get sick. Remember the slow cooker ‘pork’?”
“You mean the pulled mush? Of course I remember. I still can’t eat pork chops.”
Monty barked out a laugh and shuddered. The sound of a car pulling in the driveway pulled us from our revere. “Oh crap. He’s here. Montgomery, what do I do?”
“Relax. It’ll be fine. Grab a jacket and I’ll go with you to answer the door.”
I took a deep breath and went with Monty to answer the door. He stood next to me, suspiciously close behind me. Dillion knocked a few raps before I opened it. He looked me up and down, taking me in, and smiled smoothly, “Hey Hailey. You look very pretty tonight.” He looked to Monty and his smile faltered for a brief second, “de la Cruz.”
“Sanders.” Monty replied, more coolly than I expected him to.
Finally finding my voice after taking in his blue Billy Reid Henley and tailored jeans, I replied shakily. “Hey Dillion. Thanks, you look good too. You ready?” Thanks? Really? Get it together.
“I’m ready if you are.” He replied, helping me into my coat.
I blushed slightly but caught Monty roll his eyes. What crawled up his ass? Turning to him I addressed Monty and gave him a quick hug, “Feel free to stay as long as you want. Just make sure you set the alarm before you go. I’ll call you tonight.”
In the shiny black BMW on the way to Rosie’s, Dillion was a perfect gentleman. He let me pick the music and we chatted casually, more of his attention understandably on the road than on me. That would be a hell of a first date. When we arrived, he opened my door and helped me out of the car. He even gave me his arm as we walked in. This is great.
When we were seated, things started to change. In the car, his divided attention could be explained away with driving. When sitting across from each other at dinner on the other hand, it was a little harder to explain. He was polite to the waitress at the door at least. When we sat down there was a period of awkward silence. The people around us chatted freely while we just sat. Dillion plucked a piece of thread from his sleeve and I inspected the hem of my top. Finally, the waitress arrived. “Good evening, my name’s Riley, what can I get for you?”
“A chocolate-“
“A cherry-“ we started together.
“Sorry. You first.” Dillion acquiesced with a wave of his hand, as though he was doing me a favour. I smiled at him before ordering.
“May I get a cherry chocolate shake please?”
“Sure thing. Yourself?” Riley replied, marking my order on her well used notepad.
“May I get a chocolate shake please Riley?” Dillion asked, giving her a flirty smirk. Seriously? I’m sitting right here. I pretended not to notice and after another moment or two we were able to start a conversation of sorts.
“So Hailey, you’re quite a hard girl to track down. It took me weeks to track you down in our little town to ask you out.” Dillion started suavely.
I blushed before deciding to play coy, “I’m a busy girl Dillion, lots going on, you know?”
“Yeah, I noticed.” He chuckled. “Most of my issue was getting you away from your friends, so I could ask you privately.”
“Well, you could of asked to talk privately. They wouldn’t have minded.” I was growing confused and concerned with his comments.
“Your bodyguard would have been okay with it?” He asked before muttering under his breath, “sure.”
I was taken aback by his comment about Monty but after considering it for a moment, let it slide. If it were me in his place, I probably would be scared shitless too. Before I could think of a response, Riley arrived with our milkshakes. “Here you go guys. What can I getcha?” I motioned to Dillion to order first.
“I’ll get a bacon cheeseburger.”
“And I’ll have a club sandwich with a soup please.”
“Comin’ right up.”
After she left to put our orders in, in an attempt to salvage the conversation, I decided to ask Dillion about himself. “Tell me about yourself? We’ve never really talked about non-school related things.”
He immediately perked up and grinned, “well, where do I start? Oh, I know. My hobbies consist of being awesome and being a badass. To preface, my friends and I are idiots when we get together.” I felt my eyes widen slightly before smoothing my face. “This one night, Marshall, a few of our buddies, and I ‘borrowed’ his dad’s truck and took it for a spin in Mr. Johnston’s field.”
“Oh, coo-” I started.
“He has no cameras. Probably not the smartest idea on his part. Anyway, Jacob-he goes to Hillcrest, private school boy- cracked a beer in the box as Marshall had the brilliant idea to floor it. Beer went everywhere. All over Jacob, the back window, the box, and the field. I opened my beer before getting in the truck.”
“Ah, of course.” I nodded along, trying to fain interest.
“A few beers in, we decided to switch drivers. I took charge and did a few doughnuts, no big deal. By the end of the night the field was messed up. Would show you pictures, but we weren’t dumb enough to take them. Not illegal if you don’t get caught, am I right?”
“I-I guess?”
“I’m right. But enough about me, how was the bio test last week?”
“It was okay, some of the questions were dumb. The vitamin K question gave me some trouble.”
“Oh yeah, totally. I barely got a C- on it. How’d you do?” he bragged, as though it was an accomplishment. Fuck this guy is annoying.
I blinked before answering dryly, “I got an A- that had to be adjusted to an A because the scantron machine screwed up.” Dillion blinked at me clearly at a loss for words and thankfully, Riley came with our food. Bless her and her timing.
We ate our food quietly, or at least, more quietly than before. Dillion was still regaling me with stories of his shenanigans and ‘not illegal because we didn’t get caught’ antics with his friends. I was counting down the bites until I would be done my sandwich and we could leave. After we had finished and gotten the bill, he pulled out his wallet before I had time to even think about grabbing my purse. Huh. He’s paying without discussion. Maybe he’s trying to make up for talking my ear off. He offered me his hand to help me up and, after helping me into my jacket again, held it as we walked back to the car. Maybe he’s just awkward on dates. Maybe I’m judging him too harshly.
The ride back to my place was quiet, thankfully. I tried to keep a smile on my face, even though I wanted to do nothing more than make my feelings known. Just have to get to the house. Then I can be done with this. Drama class is coming in really handy now. As we pulled up to my house and parked, Dillion cut the engine and undid his seatbelt. I plastered a big smile on my face and once again, tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. At least he’s walking me to the door. That’s a plus, right? He came around and opened my door for me, pulling me from my thoughts. Taking my hand, he led me to the door and we stood on the step for a moment looking into each other’s eyes. He is very pretty. “I had a really great time tonight Hailey.” Dillion said. He brushed a strand of hair that fell back behind my ear. “And I know I said it already, but you look beautiful tonight.”
My eyes softened as I again, thought of how sweet and charming he could be. My smile became less forced and I relaxed. I didn’t want to lie to him, so I just nodded, playing it off as being shy. Under the soft light of my front porch and the spotlight of the full moon, he leaned in slightly. I let out a quiet breath when his hand fell naturally on my hip, to pull me closer. This is it. He’s going to kiss me. He closed his eyes and I closed mine. My hands rested comfortably on his shoulders and I felt his lips touch mine and it felt… wet. Not ‘used a gel lip balm wet’. Not ‘just had a drink and there’s liquid left on my lips’ wet. It was saliva. Oh. My. God. He pulled me closer still and I could swear I felt… god no. teeth. This is terrible. Trying not to pull away too quickly, I managed to smoothly detach myself from him. I cleared my throat and tried to make it look like I was catching my breath. “W-wow.” I stuttered. I stepped away and tried to keep my expression relaxed. I turned and backed against the door, reaching for the handle. Dillion smiled at me again before checking his watch.
“It’s getting late, I should probably head home. I had fun tonight.”
“Uh, yeah. Me too. Drive safe. See you at school.” I said, blinking a few times to confirm I was in fact, awake and this wasn’t some alternate universe or nightmare.
I turned to unlock the door and he was driving away before I was even had my key in the lock. Leaning back against the door I tried to catch my breath and digest what a disaster tonight had turned into. I grabbed a blanket and curled up on the couch to call Montgomery. He picked up on the second ring. “Hey Hales. How’d it go?”
“Uuuuuggggghhhhhh.” I groaned in response.
“That bad? What happened?” his voice took on a concerned tone.
“Where do I begin? Let’s see. The drive over was nice. But when we got to the restaurant everything changed. He was polite to the waitress which is good. But he just… talked the whole time. About himself. I barely got a word in edgewise. And he was so arrogant.”
“Ouch, that bites. I’m sorry Hailey.”
“That’s not even the worst part. There’s more. So, he was an arrogant prick at dinner and I think I said a total of twenty words the whole time. When we got back to my place, he walked me to the door.”
“As he should have.” Monty interjected.
“I mean yes. It was what happened after we got to the door that’s the problem.”
“I’m listening.”
“He kissed me.” I groaned.
“Did you want him to kiss you?” His voice had an edge to it I didn’t like.
“Yeah I guess? I really didn’t think that it could be that bad. It’s not like he kissed me when I told him no or anything, so chill.”
“Oh. Well that’s good. How bad could it have been Hales?”
“He’s a bad kisser.”
“Define bad exactly?”
“It was wet Monty. To be more specific it felt wet, sloppy, and when he pulled me closer, toothy. And it’s not like he has an overbite and can’t help the teeth, at least then you can’t really blame the guy.” I heard Monty stifle a laugh on the other end of the line. “Go ahead, you can laugh.” He burst out laughing and I couldn’t help but laugh along.
“I-I’m so-sorry. I shouldn’t-” he choked out between laughs. Pausing to catch his breath he continued, “I shouldn’t laugh. That’s really not good.”
“Not good? Monty its bad. Worse than just bad. It’s very bad.”
Monty sighed after another moment. “I’m sorry you had such a shit date. Your mom still in Vermont?”
“Yeah, she’ll be back Saturday. Why?”
“I tell you what. I’ll come over and try to make up for the horrible evening you had to endure. I’m free the rest of the night so I can stay over. You, me, popcorn, two-liter Dr. Pepper, and a movie. You in?”
“Throw in Mike & Ikes and Hot Tamales and you’ve got yourself a deal. I’ll make the popcorn this time though. I for one don’t like snacking on charcoal.”
Monty chuckled, “It was ONE time. You drive a hard bargain but sure. You’re still not a fuckin’ child though.”
“Yeah yeah, you love me. I’ll see you in a bit.”
“You know it.” He said and I could hear the smile in his voice before he hung up.
I knew he would have to stop at Blue Spot for the Dr. Pepper at this time of night so I could hold off on the popcorn for now. I decided to get out of the uncomfortable clothes I wore on my date and put on something more homely. I quickly changed into one of Monty’s old gym shirts I stole from his drawer and a pair of bike shorts. The shirt was so big on me it hit me mid-thigh. I took off my makeup and brushed my hair out before heading down to put the popcorn on the stove and pick out a movie.
I was just taking the popcorn off the burner when Monty knocked on the door. “One second!” I called. I ran to open the door and Monty stood with his arms full. He looked alluring in the moonlight. The light pulling the flecks of gold in his hazel eyes out. I welcomed him inside and he placed our various snacks and drinks on the coffee table while I grabbed the popcorn. When I reached for the bowl, his shirt rode up and I felt his eyes on my ass. Oh boys. “Enjoying the view?” I flirted playfully. He coughed, caught off guard by my comment and tried to recover.
“Nah, I’m admiring my shirt. I wondered where it disappeared to. Looks good on you though.” he flirted back.
“Uh-huh. Here, come get the butter and cups. I’ve got the popcorn.” I sauntered back to the couch and pulled the blanket over my legs. Monty took his usual spot beside me and I cuddled close to him as I got comfortable. Holding the popcorn in my lap, I grabbed the remote and hit play on Christopher Robin. We settled in for a quiet evening.
By the time we got halfway through the movie, the pop had been half finished, the candy was more on the floor and couch than in our mouths, and the popcorn had been long forgotten. I had spent most of the movie thinking about the failure of the date I had and watching Monty’s facial expressions at the film, even though we had seen it many times before. I thought about feelings I had either ignored or pushed away and about comments the two of us had shared that could be construed as something more than simply two friends joking around. I sat up suddenly, startling Monty slightly.
“Hey Monty?” I asked shyly.
“Yeah Hailey?” he asked, still mostly focused on the movie.
“Do… is… what’s happening here?”
“Uh… we are watching a movie?” His attention turning to me.
“No. Well, technically yes. But that’s not what I mean.”
“I’m not following.”
I sighed, grabbed the remote and pressed pause, and continued even though every fibre of my being was telling me not to, that I had to be reading everything wrong. “It’s just, when I told you about Dillion at school you seemed really detached. And you said no to literally every option when I was asking about clothes. It wasn’t until I looked upset about cancelling that you made a suggestion. And then when he picked me up, you were really quiet and cold towards him. And I get that the date was a literal burning shit pile, but you seemed almost… glad that it went badly. Like you were happy we wouldn’t be going on another date.”
“I… uh.” He was at a loss for words.
“I’ve heard Scott and Jeff talk. I’ve heard the other guys comment on stuff we say to each other. I just...” I was being to lose my nerve. “Actually you know what? Just... just forget it. Forget I said anything. I’m going to go get a glass of water.” I stood up and started to walk to the kitchen. I could hear Monty stand up and walk towards me but I refused to turn around. I felt his hand grab my arm gently and turn me around.
“Hailey.”
“Hmm?” I still couldn’t look at him.
“You’re right.”
“I’m right? About what?”
“I was happy your date went bad. Not that you were upset or that you didn’t enjoy yourself. I was happy that there wouldn’t be a second date. That I wouldn’t have to...”
“Have to what? Share me?” I turned to look at him now. “I wouldn’t stop being your friend if I had a boyfriend Monty.”
“Well I would hope not. Who else would keep me in check Hales? Scotty could try but it’s not like he could hold me back. And he doesn’t seem like type to hug another dude unless someone died or some shit. And Bryce, well who knows what he’d do.” He paused to take a breath, as though he was gathering some of that tiger courage the boys always talk about. “But that’s not the point. I don’t want to have to watch you be with someone else. Someone who isn’t....”
“Isn’t what Montgomery?” I asked, not daring to breathe too much. This couldn’t be real. I have to have fallen asleep. He looked at me and all the things I had ignored or pushed away came to the forefront of my mind. The way the dim kitchen light illuminated his face and caught the freckles faintly scattered across his face, made him look almost angelic. He’s going to kiss me.
“Someone that isn’t me.” He said before he pulled me in, placed his hand on my hip, leaned in, and kissed me in one quick smooth motion. For the second time that night, my hands found themselves resting against firm shoulders, more confidently this time. This time though, it wasn’t wet, or sloppy, and there were no teeth. When he pulled me closer, he ran his tongue along my bottom lip, asking permission for entrance. When I granted it, he wrapped his strong arms around my waist and lifted me onto the counter so I could wrap my arms around his neck more easily. When we pulled away, I smiled and then I had a thought. “So…”
“Yes?”
“Does this mean I get to keep the shirt?” I asked cheekily.
Monty laughed wholeheartedly. “Yeah, yeah I guess it does. I was serious, it looks better on you than me.” He helped me down and we walked back to the couch holding hands.

Your eyes widened as your breath got caught in your throat. Your heart sinking, and an icy numbness spreading throughout your body. The phone slipped, and it hit the floor with an angry noise.
"Y/n, sweetie are you still there?" your mother's distorted voice seemed to be a lot farther away than it was. The only thing you could focus on was her earlier words.
"I wish I could have called you on better terms, but this is urgent. It's your dad y/n. He collapsed out of nowhere, and they're running some tests right now...Doctors say it isnt looking too good..."
You picked up the phone, and you managed to whisper "I'll book the next flight over. I'm sorry I have to go" hanging up the call as you let the phone fall on to the bed.
On the back protected by your phone case was a picture of you with your parents. Your dad smiling with wrinkles near the corners of his eyes. It was hard to imagine him in a hospital bed eyes closed and face pale.
Suddenly you seemed to come out of your shocked state as tears blurred your eye sight. A high pitched broken whine rang out around the room as your body slid to the floor. Your hand coming up to try and fail to cover up the chocked sobs escaping. Your hands frantically clawing at your chest as to try and stop the intense pain spreading through it.
"Dad, my sweet daddy please be okay. You can't leave me yet-I can't- please don't leave" your voice coming our broken and breathless from failing to calm yourself down.
You had been so busy going hysterical, you didn't notice the front door opening.
As soon as Jaebum had opened the door, and heard your cries ringing out around the building his heart sank and his eyebrows furrowed. He dropped his things, and walked to the bedroom where he heard your sobs coming from with a quick paced stride.
He looked into the room with his heart beating out of his chest. He saw your broken figure, and he rushed to kneel in front of you. His hands encased yours as he tried to figure out what you were saying. He soon figured out it was your mother language you were speaking in. One of his hands left yours to cradle your face. His thumb brushing the skin under your eye to try and get your attention.
"Y/n princess, what's wrong??". Your lover's soft voice broke you out of your breakdown. He seemed to be the only thing your eyes could focus on. You managed to explain the situation with a wobbly voice, and sniffles constantly interrupting you.
Jaebum's thumb drifted down to your bitten lip to nudge it out of your mouth which had been anxiously biting on it. He let his forehead rest on yours, and his nose nudged yours.
"Hey, it's okay. I'll get permission from JYP, and we can catch the next flight over. We'll get everything ready, and we'll go visit your dad. Everything will be okay princess just relax." Your eyes closed at his words as you let yourself take deep breaths in. His words doing a lot to calm you down. You couldn't stop the words from slipping out as you opened your eyes and let the sight of him sink in.
"I love you"
Jaebum didn't understand you, but he was able to get the meaning of what you said by the look of complete adoration in your gaze. He couldn't stop his heart from swelling, and he decided right then and there he would do anything to hear those words again. His eyes shined as he proceeded to press a soft kiss to your nose, and then continued to the rest of your face with your laughs ringing in his ears. His smile got bigger each passing second as he bought your forehead to his shoulder. His fingers tangling with yours as he pressed a soft kiss to your temple.
Mark
Tumblr media
Mark was on a call with Jinyong complaing about how Yugyeom had put pictures of his shower and kissing scene everywhere in the practice room while you were in a call with your friend from back home. Being aware of where Mark was, you let your shoulder and head hold the phone.
A smile came on to your face as you continued chopping vegetables while listening to your friend squealing on the other end.
"I just can't believe he finally proposed!! I've been waiting for this moment for so long. I'm already thinking about the dress- wait- you will be there right???" You let out a soft laugh not being aware that mark had wandered into the kitchen after ending the call with Jinyoung rolling his eyes.
"The wedding is more than a year away come on, but of course I'll be there. I have to admit I miss home..."
Mark's head tilted as he took in your voice and what you were saying. The corners of his lips curving up as he took in your voice speaking smoothly in your native language.
"And we miss you!! Come and visit. Just for a week. You can make it that long without Mark" you could practically hear the pout on her face. Shaking your head you answered back "I'll think about it, but now i have to go before I chop my hand off."
Exchanging goodbyes you put the phone down, and you put all your focus on the vegetables in front of you. As you finished cutting up the vegetables you felt arms wrap around your waist and pull you into a firm chest.
His nose traced a line along your neck, and you could feel the smile on his face as he pressed a kiss to the spot under your ear.
"I like it when you speak in (your native language). Your voice sounds nice."
You craned your neck to look at him and took in the soft look in his eyes. His cheek squished against your shoulder with his hair tickling your neck. You reached up to brush your fingers through his hair. You pressed a kiss to his forehead, and he giggled. "You don't even understand."
He hid his face in your shoulder and shrugged. With a small smile you said "Smile means smile". His face lit up as he tried his best to pronounce it. That's how you spent the rest of making dinner. You taught him small words, and he couriously repeated them. A smile overtaking his face when you praised him, and a light pink hue coloring his cheeks.
Jackson
Tumblr media
You tiredly leaned against the mall's wall as you waited for Jackson to come out of the restroom. He had spent all day dragging you from store to store. Your feet had gone numb and you felt like you were going to collapse, any second. But what were you supposed to say when his eyes were sparkling like that, and the pout on his lips made you almost melt right then and there. Say no???
You scoffed as you looked at the door of the men's restroom wondering what was taking him so long. Who were you kidding? He was probably checking himself out in the mirror.
Just as you were about to get your phone to pass some time you heard a little girl's cries. What caught your attention was the fact she was crying out in your native language. You looked up to find a small child with chubby cheeks and tears streaming down her face.
"Mom?? Mommy? Where are you??" Your heart clenched in your chest when you saw everyone walking past her as she looked around helplessly.
You untangled all the shopping bags from your arms and walked towards her.
"Hey sweetie are you okay?". Her eyes widened as relief flooded her face and she basically fell into your leg. You wrapped your arms around her and shushed her to quiet her down. You bent down down to her height, and you wiped her tears away.
"I lost my mom, and I was just really scared" she choked out. You patted her head sympathetically while nodding your head understandably. "It's okay don't worry. We'll walk to the food court and talk with security. We're going to find your mom sweetie." As she wiper her tears she managed a small smile with a whispered "thank you".
You grabbed her hand and stood up only to see Jackson beaming at you. His eyes practically shined as you stared back blankly. "Um, Jackson??" the minute you spoke he squealed. He bounded forward and squished your cheeks cooing at you.
"How come I've never heard you speak (native language) before?" You narrowed your eyes at him, but it looked kinda funny with your cheeks all mushed up. "Can we talk about this later? We have to get the kid back to her mom" you nodded in the direction of the small girl too busy sucking on her thumb to notice Jackson's antics. You would never admit it to him, but his reaction made you a bit flustered.
Clearind your throat you poked his cheek and grabbed onto his hand. Smiling down at the girl who was now looking at you with teary eyes. Looking around you started walking towards the food court with the two in tow (both looking like children *ahem* anyways). Jackson throwing funny faces at the kid making her giggle.
As you got into the food court you saw a woman frantically talking to security. You heard the girl gasp and start pulling you in the stranger's direction.
"Is that her?" The girl nodded and with a soft smile you let go of her small hand. With a small wave and a "Thank you, miss" she scurried over to her mom.
You and Jackson watched the woman turn face lighting up as she caught the child in her arms.
He leaned his head against yours while he put his arm around your shoulders looking at the pretty scene.
His hand teasingly going into your back pocket as he whispered into your ear "So, when is it our turn?"
"When you learn the difference between a chair and a "blanket fort necessity" scoffing you started walking with a pouting Jackson at your heels. Looking back with a fond smile you quickly pecked his lips, and he tried following your lips for another one. You teasingly dodged it with your heart bursting with love for the man a foot away from you. As you tried to figure out the entrance you had come in through you heard Jackson yell behind you-
"Wait, the bags!"
Jinyoung
Tumblr media
Jinyoung had been getting ready to sleep in your bedroom while you were getting ready in the restroom when he heard you mumbling to yourself. Pursing his lips and furrowing his eyebrows he walked closer to the restroom's door. He leaned in straining to hear what you were saying.
"I slid down the- um- ah what was that word" frustration clinged onto your voice as you tried to find the word you were looking for.
Jinyoung's eyes widened as he was able to recognize your mother language. His eyes narrowed when he heard you let out a groan.
You racked your brain for that one word you had forgotten. Earlier that day you had been on a call with your grandma, and you kept forgetting the simplest words.
You admitted to yourself that you don't have much of a chance to practice your native language since you're always speaking korean. It still made you upset. You had grown up with that language. How could you forget it?
Sighing you cleaned the sink up and opened the door to the bathroom only to see Jinyoung reading a book in bed. You clambered on and let yourself plop into the space next to him. He grabbed your hand, and you let your head rest on his shoulder.
"Everything okay?" his eyes left the book, and his hand came up to smoothen the crease between your eyebrows. He couldn't help but worry. You had such a lost look on your face that he couldn't help but feel bad.
You numbly nodded. "I'm just tired. I think it's time to knock out". Burrowing further into his shoulder you closed your eyes ending the conversation.
Jinyoung got the hint that you didn't want to talk about it anymore, and he leaned over to turn the lamp off. He let the comfort of your head pressing against his shoulder lull him to sleep.
You continued doing that for a few days. Saying sentences and phrases only to forget a word. It seemed the weight on your shoulders grew heavier with every word you forgot.
Soon Jinyoung got tired of your constant moping, and he went out to the nearest book store. He loved when you spoke in your native language, but he just wanted you to be happy.
You had been sweeping the floor when you heard the front door open. Jinyoung came into your view with his arms behind his back and a smug look on his face.
"Jinyoung?? What do you have back there?" you tried looking but he simply moved with you. "There's a price" He closed his eyes and puckered his lips.
Raising an eyebrow you grew curious, but you still leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Smiling he broke the kiss and bumped his forehead against yours before leaning back.
"I just thought you'd like this" he said as he grabbed your hands and placed the book he had bought in them. You read the title and felt your breath hitching. You couldn't help the large smile that pulled at your lips as you looked at him with tears pricking at your eyes. It was a dictionary in your native language.
Laughing in disbelief you launched yourself at him jumping in excitement. You wrapped your arms around him and nuzzled your face against his neck muttering a string of "thank you". He chuckled as he bought a hand to the back of your head and let the other rest on the small of your back.
"Anything for you."
Youngjae
Tumblr media
You were on the couch snuggled under a blanket reading a book waiting for Youngjae to come back from walking Coco.
You had been peacefully reading when you remembered the song that had come up on your playist earlier. It was a song from your childhood in your native language. It was actually one of your parent's favorites, and they would sing a long to it whenever it came on the radio. You had added it to your playist because it made you feel like your parents were closer instead of miles away.
A small smile played on your lips as you remembered the melody and softly sung the first few lyrics. You were so lost in your own world you didn't notice Youngjae coming in.
His heart basically combusted when he heard your soft voice filling the silence of the apartment. Quickly taking Coco's leash off, he excitedly shuffled over to the couch with glimmering eyes and his signature sunshine smile.
You finally noticed him, and you put the book to the side giggling as he laid down on the couch settling his head in your lap.
You continued singing the song running your hands through his hair fondly. Tracing lines across his face and gently rubbing the mole under his eye. You quickly leaned down pressing a kiss to his eyes as both of your laughter replaced your singing.
Now while on tour and when missing you Youngae would find himself humming to the song you had sung that night. It made the days left to get back to you faster, and it calmed him down a lot. A loving smile appearing on his face when the melody would fill the silence your absence left. Even if it was a little it managed to get him through the days he was missing you the most.
Bambam
Tumblr media
You groaned as you lost the game of rock, paper, and scissors. You watched as BamBam yelled in triumph, and you rolled your eyes. You had been playing so that the loser would get up and feed the cats.
Huffing you got up with a pout just as he grabbed your hand. "Remember...fill up Pudding's water bowl just 2/3rds of the way if you don't want them to be pissy" with that he turned his attention back to the TV.
Glaring at him you walked towards the kitchen and just as you entered the area you heard a "love you" shouted behind you.
Ignoring him you walked towards the food and got each cat's plate. At the sound of the bag all four came running in looking at you with wide eyes. You filled up each bowl with food and water placing them on the ground.
It seems you moved too fast and startled one of them because Latte suddenly hissed and clawed at you.
Latte didn't get the chance to actually scratch you, but you were so surprised you stumbled back with a shriek.
As you stumbled you tripped managing to hit your head and upper back with the kitchen counter.
"AH shit, what the fuck you clawed little spawn of satan?!?!?!".
Clutching heavily at your chest you saw the cat look at you with mild interest before turning it's whole focus back to the food.
"Yeah, thanks for looking sorry" you murmured as you lifted your hand up to your head feeling a bump.
You heard footsteps and winced knowing what was going to happen. 3 seconds later you heard a loud laugh and looked up to find BamBam clutching his stomach.
"Babe, what the hell???" you narrowed your eyes trying to stand up only to slip making laughter erupt out of him yet again. He tried to help you up, but you were so annoyed you dodged and pushed his hands away. Persistent as always BamBam put his hands under your arms helping you up. He continued laughing laying his hands on your shoulders to sturdy you then bringing them up to your face to squish it againt his chest.
"Get off me you-" "Awwww, my poor baby" he teased you rubbing your head with one hand as he took your hand in his free one and started walking to the bathroom.
He lifted you up into the counter with the same stupid smile in his face. He tried brushing the hair out of your face, but the warning look on your face stopped him. Sighing he ignored you and got in between your legs lifting his hands to tilt your head side to side.
"I think some cuddles and you'll be fine" he tilted your head towards him making you look at him. Pressing a small kiss to the corner of your lips he smiled. Raising his eyebrows he rubbed the skin of your cheeks adoringly.
"I love you"
Relenting you answered.
"I love you too"
You soon regretted everything when his smile turned into a smirk.
"You know, you're hot when you cuss in (native language)"
Laughter bursted out of him as he dodged your swatting hands.
"I'M ABOUT TO LOOK REALLY HOT IN A MINUTE!!"
Yugyeom
Tumblr media
Got7 had gone on tour, and they were now in your home country. You who had been missing your home decided to go with them.
There was one free day, and you and your boyfriend chose to spend it exploring the little shops and restaurants around the area.
Yugyeom had caught sight of something in a store window, and you had let him go in to check it out. You were doing fine waiting outside until you caught sight of a group of boys (younger than you still in school uniforms) whispering to each other while stealing glances at you.
You scoffed and hoped they wouldn't have the bravery to confront you. You willed your boyfriend to come out sooner, but one look at the window (housing many curious little knick knacks) and you knew there would be no sign of him for a while. You decided to walk around a bit in hopes of losing them.
Out of the corner of your eye you saw them shuffling in your direction, and your heart started longing for Yugyeom. You had half the mind of walking into the cute little store, but you didn't want them to follow you in there and create a scene.
Feeling a nervous tingling in your stomach as you walked faster. Your eyes flitted around looking for any possible escape to this situation only to close in defeat. You couldn't lie. Of course you were scared, but being scared was not going to help you.
You tried turning into different streets to try and lose them, and you didn't look back. They were obviously from here so when they went the other way hoping to cut you off and succeeded in doing so, you got ready to run.
That was until you noticed three boys from the same group come up behind you. They had cornered you, and you had been too busy avoiding them to notice.
You said the first thing that came to mind.
"I have a boyfriend"
They all looked at each other and laughed. "You're just saying that because you think we can't take an older girl"one of them piped up. One of the ones behind you leaned in putting a hand on your shoulder "We can please you too" his words making you cringe and shudder.
"What do you not understand about no!! Don't touch me!" you roughly shrugged off the guy's hand off feeling yourself start to breath faster. They all laughed mockingly. Annoyance was starting to come off of you in waves.
"You think this is funny?? You don't get out of here and I'll call the cops!!"
You were panicking. Saying anything that came to mind. With a beating heart your hand found it's way to your back pocket only to notice the scared look on their faces. Confusion instantly clouded your mind.
"Babe!!!"
Relief flooded you as you watched all the boys turn and run scattering in different directions. You turned to face your pole of a boyfriend who was staring back at you with an innocent and proud smile walking towards you. When he reached you his eyes glimmered with excitement.
"You said something about calling someone right?! I've been practicing, but I didn't really understand all of it. But you!!! I haven't heard you speak in (native language) before. You need to teach me some words okay!!!" he was almost bouncing in the spot he was standing in. Any trace of what had just happened left your mind. All your attention focused on your child like boyfriend.
"Are you sure it's not just to hear me speak in (native language)???" you smiled as you saw the skin of his neck flushing pink under the collar of his shirt. Your boyfriend's cuteness always managed to make yous heart melt.
"J-just promise me you'll teach me some things...okay??" Smiling you linked your pinky with his whispering a soft "promise" then linking the rest of your fingers. You spent the rest of the day exploring the beautiful city.
Yugyeom never told you, but he recorded each of your little lessons. He listened to them anytime he needed to calm down or help falling asleep. Your voice enough of a substitute to fill the cold empty space next to him on the bed...but never really close to the real thing. Nothing would ever be able to replace the warmth that surrounded him when he was next to you.
Another thing Yugyeom hadn't told you (and probably never will) was that the day the boys had bothered you and he found you, was that he had glared at them. Along with mouthing "You're dead".
He had to admit. Being tall had it's good points sometimes. After all, he would do anything to keep his world safe.

Strawberry Milk
Tumblr media
Pairing: Taehyung x Reader
Genre: Friends to lovers, romance, fluff
Word Count: 5.7k
Content/Warnings: You and Taehyung “platonically” sharing a bed. You crushing Taehyung with your entire body while rollerskating. Going on a long drive and lying in a field with Taehyung while you stargaze.
Summary: Growing up, your little brother Jimin used to follow you around like a duckling. And wherever he went, so did his best friend, Taehyung. That made two ducklings. Although he was only a couple of years younger than you, you always saw him as a baby, like a second little brother. You didn’t expect that would ever change.
A/N: This was supposed to be for Tae’s birthday but I couldn’t finish it in time because time is an illusion
Tumblr media
Strawberries, milk, sugar. Three simple ingredients. The flavors of your childhood. A foolproof combination that never failed to put a smile on your face. The nostalgic taste that brings back memories of those days at the strawberry field. The simplicity of youth.
Tumblr media
You have known Taehyung for as long as you can remember. He was Jimin’s best friend, and still is, as a matter of fact.
As children, they went everywhere with you. You were only a couple years older, but to them, you seemed much bigger. You were the authority figure when there were no adults around. You made all the decisions. They followed you to the playground, the candy store, the ice cream parlor, and when they were old enough, they went with you to and from school. Your own friends accepted the three of you as a package. They understood that wherever you went, Jimin and Taehyung would follow.
Your favorite place to go was the strawberry field down the street from your house. It was a big open patch where the reddest, plumpest strawberries grew. You took the boys there where they could run around and play while you entertained your current hobby: be it reading, writing, or sometimes drawing. Taehyung loved it especially. Strawberries were his favorite fruit. He loved frolicking through the fragrant patch and picking the juiciest strawberries to snack on when he got hungry. At the end of the day, he would stuff some berries in his pocket and bring them back to your house, where he would mash them up with some milk and sugar to make fresh strawberry milk for all of you. These were his happiest memories.
Taehyung was more than just your brother’s best friend. You spent so much time together, it was like he was your second brother. As if you had twin baby brothers instead of just the one.
Jimin and Taehyung have always been quite similar, but also different. They both love to play sports, dance, and play video games. But Taehyung is more into superhero movies, while Jimin loves horror. You also have an inclination to horror, so your most of movie nights were supernatural thriller or gory slasher films. All of which gave Taehyung nightmares, but he put up with it because you were his best friends. Oftentimes after a horror movie, Taehyung would ask to stay in your room, and you would let him sleep on your bed while clutching one of your stuffed rabbits. And of course, Jimin joined in, too. However, as they grew older, the three of you got too big to fit on your bed, so the boys stayed together in Jimin’s room from then on. Taehyung took your rabbit with him.
For a long time, you didn’t stop seeing them as the babies they once were. From time to time, when you went to the grocery store, you would see a little boy in a puffy jacket much like the ones Taehyung and Jimin used to have, and think that boy looks a lot like my brother. But then either Jimin or Taehyung would walk up next to you and you’d remember that both of them are now much taller than you.
Before you knew it, high school came along. There was no more time for going to the strawberry patch and picking strawberries. Taehyung switched to boxed strawberry milk, which his girlfriend brought to lunch for him every day from her parents’ grocery store. It wasn’t the same, but it still made Taehyung happy.
Jimin also had a girlfriend, and they mostly kept to themselves. He still hung out with you and Taehyung after school, but weekends were always spent with her. You liked both of their girlfriends. They were nice. However, the boys preferred to spend their time alone with them, so you never really got to know them.
Although they had their own lives, they were still always there when you needed them. When your high school sweetheart dumped you, just days before graduation, Jimin and Taehyung dropped everything to comfort you. They bought snacks and rented movies and Taehyung made you some fresh strawberry milk. You immediately felt better because you were all together.
When you started university, you had to move away from home. It was the first time you three had been separated in what felt like your entire life. For the first semester, you and the boys texted almost everyday, but as time went on and you all got busier, the communication dwindled. Although, Taehyung still tried to video chat with you at least once a week. But two years later, when Taehyung and Jimin started school at the same university, the three of you got back together like you were never apart.
Tumblr media
When Jimin and Taehyung applied to live in the dorms, they both wrote in the application that they wanted to room with each other. Unfortunately, they did not get their wish. The housing department stuck them each with a random stranger as a roommate. Although everyone filled out a survey during the application period so that they could be paired with someone with similar interests, they couldn’t be more different from the people they were assigned to live with.
Because of this, the boys like to escape their roommates and hang out together at your place, where they don’t have to share a couch and a TV with the entire floor. Since you aren’t a freshman anymore, you’re allowed to live off campus in a nearby apartment. You have your own room and just one apartment-mate, who is rarely home and spends most of her time at her boyfriend’s place.
On this particular night, Jimin got to pick which movie you guys would watch, and he chose some new interactive psychological thriller on Watchflux. Jimin’s sitting on the couch, sifting through the other options available on the streaming website and snacking on his favorite candy, while Taehyung is sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of him with a large basket of strawberries he bought at the market earlier today. You pour yourself a glass of milk in the kitchen and grab the bowl of popcorn you had popped and walk back into the living room, placing yourself on the couch beside your brother.
“There’s plenty of room on the couch, Tae. Why are you sitting on the floor?” you ask, popping a piece of popcorn in your mouth.
“It’s comfortable here. Plus, I don’t want to accidentally get strawberry mush on your couch.”
“So you’d rather stain the carpet?” you tease.
Taehyung frowns.
You sigh wistfully and ask, “Taehyung, how many strawberries do you think you’ve eaten? In your entire life.”
He furrows his brows, thinking. “Not sure. One million? Two million? Maybe even three million? All plausible answers.”
“You really think you’ve eaten over a million strawberries?”
“Don’t underestimate me,” he says before biting into another strawberry and flicking away the stem.
“And Jimin.” Your brother pauses with a fistful of candy halfway to his mouth. “How many gummy worms do you think you’ve eaten? You know all that sugar isn’t good for you.”
He lowers his hand. “Hey! Don’t tell me how to live my life! You’re not mom! And what about you? You really think all that milk you drink is still gonna make you grow? You’re 20 years old! You’re not gonna get any taller.” Jimin then shoves the handful into his mouth.
“You’re such a child.”
“I’m only two years younger than you!” Jimin protests, though the words are barely discernible from all the candy in his mouth.
“I practically raised you! You and Taehyungie will always be little babies in my eyes.”
Jimin swallows. “You didn’t raise us. And we’re eighteen years old! We’re not babies anymore!”
“Yeah!” Taehyung agrees.
“Whatever, you ungrateful brats. Anyway, I happen to like the taste of milk.” You pout and take a sip from your glass of milk. “Hey, put some of those in here, will you?” You thrust your glass toward Taehyung.
Reluctantly, Taehyung grabs some strawberries out of his basket, removes the stems, and smushes them between his fingers before dropping them into your milk.
“Are you all ready?” Jimin asks once the two of you are done. “I’m going to start the movie.”
You and Taehyung nod.
Tumblr media
The movie is decently scary, even for you, and contains a fair amount of blood. By the end of it you find yourself gripping onto one of your throw pillows.
You notice that Taehyung has finished his strawberries and his fingertips are stained a bright red.
“You know, mashed up strawberries look a lot like blood.”
“Why would you say that?!” Taehyung recoils as you voice your observation.
“One time I was cutting strawberries and I hadn’t realized I cut my finger because everything was red.”
“You didn’t have to tell me that. Why would you tell me that?!” He stares down at his fingers, his eyes wide in horror.
You and Jimin laugh.
“I think, after 18 years of life, you finally made the boy hate strawberries.”
“False.” Taehyung shakes his head. “I will never hate strawberries. Strawberries have been my favorite food ever since my grandmother first fed them to me straight out of the womb.”
“Shut up!” You throw a popcorn kernel at him. “That’s bullshit and you know it.”
“It may be bullshit, but what’s not is the fact that I still love and will always love strawberries.”
Tumblr media
Later that night, you’re half asleep when your door slowly creaks open. Light spills into the room from the hallway. You sit up and rub your eyes, only to see Taehyung standing in your doorway, clutching one of the pillows you gave him in his arms.
“Hey.”
You turn on the lamp that rests on your night stand. “Hey, Tae. Is everything alright?”
He shifts nervously on his feet. “Yeah. I just couldn’t sleep. That movie has me kind of freaked out.” He looks at you and hesitates before speaking again. “Do you… do you think I could sleep with you tonight? You know, like we used to do after horror movies?”
“Tae, you’re not a kid anymore.”
“Didn’t you say Jimin and I will always be babies to you?”
“I was half joking.”
“I know. But, I guess old habits die hard,” he says with a tired smile.
You sigh in resignation. “Fine.” You pat the empty spot next to you on the bed.
He cautiously crawls into bed next to you, careful not to get to close.
“Goodnight, Tae.”
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
You reach over and turn off your lamp.
Tumblr media
When you wake up in the morning, you’re unusually warm, and there’s an uncomfortable weight across your body. It takes you a moment to realize that Taehyung has wrapped his arms tightly around you in his sleep. Carefully, you turn to look at him. You want to get up and get started on your day, but he’s so peacefully asleep that you don’t want to wake him.
“Tae,” you whisper.
The boy shifts closer to you, smushing his stubbly cheek against yours and enveloping you even tighter. You sigh inwardly. Perhaps you can sleep in a bit more. This does feel rather nice, having someone spoon you like this. But this is Taehyung we’re talking about here. This should be weird, but instead it feels weirdly right.
You resist the urge to reach up and cup his cheek. You don’t think he’s ever been this close to you. He’s not your baby brother anymore. Your heart thumps as the realization is finally hitting you. Even if you never felt any romantic attraction toward him in all the years you’ve known him, you definitely feel some kind of physical attraction toward him right now. You just want him to hold you forever. Breathing in the comfort of his scent, you lower your head and nuzzle it into the crook of his neck. You feel the rise and fall of his chest as he breathes, and hope he stays asleep so you can rest here a little longer. He never has to know.
Tumblr media
Taehyung emerges from your bedroom as you’re making breakfast. You managed to slip away from him earlier without disturbing his slumber. Now, you open the fridge, grabbing a couple of eggs out of their carton as he casually saunters over to you and surveys the contents of the fridge.
Taehyung reaches over you to to grab the milk. “Hi.” He flashes a grin in your direction. He’s got a serious case of bedhead, with his hair sticking up in every direction. You start to think that he looks absolutely adorable like this, and you kind of wish you were still in bed, wrapped in his warm embrace.
“Morning, Tae. How’d you sleep?” You ask, trying not to stare.
“Like a baby.” You read his face, attempting to decipher whether anything has changed with him. “What are you looking at?” He raises an eyebrow.
You quickly dart your eyes away and shake your head. “Nothing.”
“Thanks for letting me sleep with you last night. It felt like we were kids again.” He smiles at you again.
“Anytime, Tae.” You nearly choke on the words and you hope he doesn’t notice.
“Where’s Jimin?” He asks you.
“He had class this morning, so he left not that long after you got up.”
“Ah, so it’s just you and me.”
“Mhm,” you croak. He’s looking at you, but you avoid meeting his eyes as you focus on making your eggs.
“Did he… you know, ask where I was?”
“No. He was in a hurry and I guess he assumed you already left.
He nods and grabs a box of cereal from on top of the fridge and pours himself a bowl. He leans his back against the counter, crunching on his corn flakes, while he watches you make your breakfast.
“Why are you so quiet? Everything okay?”
“Hm? Nothing. I’m just tired,” you fib.
“Were you not able to sleep because of me? I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s not that.” Quietly you add, “It’s definitely not that.”
“What was that?”
“Hm? Nothing.”
Taehyung frowns, obviously not satisfied with your answer, but he’s done with his corn flakes now, so he doesn’t press further. He simply washes his bowl and stalks toward the bathroom.
You finish making your eggs and eat them with some toast. When you’re done, a freshly-shaven Taehyung walks out of the bathroom with a handful of his PJs. He stuffs them into his backpack and slings his bag over his shoulder.
“I’m gonna head out now. Have a good day, Y/N.”
“You too, Tae.”
As soon as the door shuts behind him, you take a deep breath and exhale. This morning was nothing. He’s not even aware of the fact that he was so close to you. Nothing is different for him. You shouldn’t get so worked up over it, you tell yourself. You’ve been best friends with Taehyung for ages. Feeling this way is simply not allowed. But, unfortunately for you, you’re not that good at listening to yourself.
Tumblr media
You figure you need to distance yourself from Taehyung until these feelings subside, but really you can’t stop thinking about how nice it was to wake up with his arms around you. You weren’t exactly avoiding Taehyung these last few days, because it would seem obvious that something was off, but you didn’t really make an effort to see him either.
Later that week, you get a text from Jimin.
Jimin: Hey I got a Groupon for the roller rink downtown. You wanna come? You: Sure! When? Jimin: Tonight? 7 ish?
This is a great opportunity for a distraction, so readily you agree.
When you show up to the roller rink later that night, you see your brother waiting out front with none other than Taehyung.
Ah, heck, you think to yourself. So much for distracting you from your newly developed feelings for Taehyung.
“Hey, guys. I didn’t know you were coming too, Tae.”
“Of course I’d invite him, Y/N,” Jimin responds. “Don’t be silly.”
You look over at Taehyung and he smiles at you, the same way he always has, but this time you feel a strange flutter in your chest as you smile back.
“Can we please go inside now?” Jimin asks. “It’s freezing out here.”
The three of you make your way up the steps and into the building.
“You know, you could have waited for me inside. I could have met you by the ticketing counter.”
Jimin merely frowns and approaches the counter. You all tell the worker your skate sizes and he grabs all of your skates and hands them to Taehyung. As Jimin finishes paying, you and Taehyung agree to walk over to the benches and put on your skates first.
“Wait, shit,” Taehyung mutters as you reach the benches. “I don’t remember which skates are which.” He holds up the bunch of skates which hang in his hand by their laces.
“Yours are the red ones,” you tell him. “Jimin and I are the same size so we both have the white ones.”
Taehyung inspects the skates and then glances are your feet. “Are your feet really that huge?”
“No!” You object. “Jimin’s are just tiny!”
Taehyung lets out a laugh, amused by your overreaction, and hands you your skates. Your hand accidentally touches his as you grab onto the laces, and you jerk your hand away a little too abruptly.
“You okay?” Taehyung asks you.
“Yeah. Your hands are just so cold,” you lie. “Man, I can’t remember the last time I went skating,” you muse, wanting to change the subject.
“I think the last time was when Jimin and I were fourteen. Unless you’ve gone without us since then.” Both of you take a seat on the bench.
“You guys know I don’t go anywhere without you.” You take off your shoes and slip the skates onto your feet. “Oh, god. How do I stand up now?” You attempt to put some weight on your feet while still gripping onto the bench, but they start to roll from under you.
“Here, let me help.” Taehyung hasn’t put on his skates yet, so he stands up easily and takes your hand in his. He slips his other hand around your waste and holds on to you firmly. “Ready? Are you holding on to me?” You nod. “Okay, stand up on the count of three. One, two, three!”
Suddenly you’re yanked off your feet and you nearly tumble forward from the momentum, but Taehyung catches you and steadies you. “You good?”
You nod, but it’s a half lie. Taehyung’s arm is still around you, and he doesn’t seem like he’s letting go anytime soon. You look up to find him staring at you and you meet his eyes. You open your mouth, feeling like you should say something, but your mind draws a blank. Taehyung continues to look at you expectantly.
“Sorry that took so long.” The sound of Jimin’s voice breaks you out of your daze. “I ran into someone from dance.”
Taehyung suddenly pulls away from you and you’re left wishing he hadn’t let go. You teeter slightly before fully gaining your balance.
“These are yours.” Taehyung hands over the other pair of white skates to your brother.
“Thanks.” Jimin takes them and puts them on. “I’m gonna out-skate both of you bitches.”
Tumblr media
Roller skating is a lot more difficult than you remember. It’s not like ice skating, where if you get tired or frustrated, you can just leave the rink and walk normally without worrying about falling. With roller skates, you’re on constantly on wheels until you take them off, so even if you leave the rink, you have the exact same chance of falling flat on your face while on your way to the benches.
You are well aware of this as you slowly inch yourself into the rink, which is just a hardwood oval that’s sectioned off from the rest of the building. You have no idea why you’re wobbling so much, or why it’s so difficult for you to keep your balance. Last time you went skating, you weren’t nearly as bad at it as you are right now. Something about this feels extremely alien, and the fear of falling makes everything worse.
But there’s nothing wrong with falling. Sure, you might get hurt, but you can always pick yourself back up and move on. You have your brother and your best friend here to help you. So there’s nothing to be afraid of.
With this new mindset, you push forward, more confidently this time.
“Y/N! Come on!” Jimin calls out to you. He skates toward you and grabs your hand. “Why are you just standing there?”
“I’m out of practice!”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you,” he reassures.
Your brother pulls you along with him as he skates around the rink. You struggle to keep up with him, but you’re a lot steadier than before. You’re able to let all your worries go and have fun, just you and your brother.
“See? You’re doing fine!” His eyes light up. “Hey, I’ll race you!”
Before you can even agree, Jimin lets go of your hand and zooms off, expecting you to follow. You glide one foot in front of the other, faster and faster as you try to catch up to your brother. You feel the air whipping past your face, and everyone around you is reduced to a blur.
“That’s not fair, Jimin! You got a head start!”
You’re so close to catching up to him, and when you think you can, you reach your arm and and try to tag him. However, you lean forward a little too much and you lose your balance. You try to use the breaks at the front of your skate, but that causes you to tumble forward.
You throw your hands out the soften your fall and close your eyes, knowing that you’ll hit the ground soon. You let out a yelp when you suddenly collide with something, taking it down with you. That something cushions your fall, and the next thing you know, you’re on the ground, not in nearly as much pain as you thought you would be.
You open your eyes and see Taehyung on the floor beneath you.
“Oh my god! Taehyung are you okay?” You push yourself into a sitting position and face the boy.
He lifts his head up, wincing as he rubs the back of it with his hand. “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m a lot better than you would be if you had taken that fall.”
“I am so sorry! I didn’t see you! Oh my god! Are you hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?! Do you want me to call an–”
“I’m fine, Y/N. Really.” You turn your head to look at the hand that Taehyung has placed on your shoulder. “You didn’t crash into me. I saw that you were about to fall and rushed over.”
“Oh. I–” You feel a blush creep into your cheeks. “Thank you for watching out for me.”
“Of course. You’re my best friend. You don’t have to be afraid of falling when you’re with me.”
“Thanks, Tae.”
He smiles at you and holds your gaze for longer than you think he should. But it’s comfortable, and you find yourself unable to look away. You feel the inexplicable urge to lean in a press your lips against his, to feel how soft they’d be against yours, to know how it feels to kiss him. And you almost do.
That is, until Jimin rolls on over to you two. “What happened? Are you guys okay?”
Reluctantly, you look away from Taehyung and toward your brother. His brows are knit together in concern as he scans the two of you for any signs of injury.
“Yeah, Jimin, we’re fine. Y/N was just being a speed demon and collided with me. But we’re okay.”
You glanced at Taehyung in confusion, but you just brush it off.
“Well, if you guys are okay, you should get up because these kids are kind of getting annoyed about you being in the way.”
You were so distracted by Taehyung, you forgot how crowded the rink actually is. In those moments he was all you could focus on.
“Oh, right. Yeah, we should get up.”
Taehyung stands up first and reaches a hand out to help you. You take it and then apologize to the people around you, though none of them are really listening.
You make it back to the bench with a couple of new bruises, but nothing serious. Although, you do feel a little bit dizzy. You try to remember whether you hit your head or not. You replay the scene that happened just moments earlier. Your memory of it is quite vivid: colliding with Taehyung, having his body press against you as the two of you fall to the floor.
Taehyung kneels in front of you, gently squeezing both your arms and checking for any injuries you may not have felt. You stare at him, trying to figure out whether he feels even the slightest bit the same as you do, but you can’t get a read on his expression. He just looks concerned. “You sure you’re alright?”
You nod and watch as his hands travel down your arm until his hands are wrapped around yours. As you watch him care for you, you feel the urge to reach your hand out to tilt his face up and kiss him.
He releases your hand and places his on your thigh, causing you to startle.
“Did I hurt you?”
You shake your head. “I just wasn’t expecting you to do that.”
He continues squeezing down your leg, and you wince when he gets to your calf.
“Does that hurt?”
“A little.” You grimace as he presses down on it harder.
“I think it’s just a bruise. Do you want ice?”
You shake your head again. “No, I’ll be okay.”
He gets up and places himself next to you on the bench. “I’m glad to hear that.” He gives you a soft smile. “Are you ready to get back out there?”
“Not yet.” You grip the edge of the bench with your hands, painfully aware of how close he’s sitting next to you, his arm brushing up against yours.
Taehyung interprets your stiffness as anxiousness and places his hand over one of yours. “I’ll wait here with you until you’re ready. Even if it takes the rest of the night. And when you do decide to go back out there, I’ll make sure you don’t get hurt. Got it?”
“Thanks, Tae.”
He puts his arm around you and pulls you close, a gesture meant to reassure you, like he’s done a million times before. But this time, it feels different, and you wonder if it’s just you who feels this way.
Tumblr media
“Hey, are you busy tonight? You wanna do something with me?”
This is the first time Taehyung has called you since that night at the roller rink. You hesitate, not knowing if you can handle seeing him again right now. The last time you hung out, it took all your willpower to refrain from kissing him. “Sure. Is Jimin coming too?”
“No, he’s busy. My boy’s got a date tonight!”
“Ooooh... A date? With who?”
“Not sure. He didn’t really specify. Probably someone from his dance team.”
Your heart clenches. Your baby brother really is growing up. “Awww. I’m happy for him.”
“Me, too. I know things didn’t end well with him and Sana, so I’m glad he’s getting back out there.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“So are you down to hang out or what?” Taehyung asks again.
You hesitate. You don’t want to say no, because then Taehyung would definitely suspect something is out of the ordinary. However, you don’t know if you can trust yourself to be alone with him. “What did you want to do?”
“I found this place online that I wanna check out.”
“What is it?”
“I can’t tell you.”
You frown, although you know he can’t see it.
“I can tell you’re frowning.”
“You know I don’t like surprises.”
“It’ll be fun, I promise.”
“Fine, I’ll go with you.”
“Cool, I’ll pick you up in 10.”
Taehyung is uncharacteristically quiet as he picks you up. When he asked you to hang out, you assumed he meant to get food at some new restaurant he found, since you guys usually go out to eat together. But he’s been driving down the same road for about thirty minutes now, and your college town is turning more and more rural as you go.
You turn your head toward him. “Tae, where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise. You’ll see.” The corner of his lip tugs up mischievously.
After about ten more minutes, Taehyung turns his truck onto an unmarked dirt road and continues driving until the two of you reach what looks like a dirt parking lot. He parks the car and gets out, walking over to your side of the vehicle to open the door for you.
He reaches out his hand and you take it, stepping down from the truck.
“Tae, where are we?” you ask, still not letting go of his hand.
Instead of answering, he shuts the car door and leads you to the green field that stretches before you.
“What is this?”
He just smiles a looks at you. “You tell me.”
Cautiously, you step onto what looks like grass, but, upon closer inspection, is actually…
“Strawberries? This is a strawberry field?”
“Mhm.” He nods, beaming at you. “Come on.”
Still holding your hand, he leads you into the field and you’re suddenly thrown back to when you two were kids, in the strawberry field by your house.
“Are we allowed to be here?”
“Yep. It’s a public field.”
You look around you. The field extends on toward the horizon. “But there’s no one here,” you point out.
“Not many people know about it. It took a lot of researching to find this place. The next closest public strawberry field is, well, at home.”
“Why did you take me here?”
Instead of answering, Taehyung puts a finger to his lip. “Shh. Look.”
At that moment, the sun begins to dip below the horizon, and the sky turns a pastel shade of pink. Almost like strawberry milk.
“Isn’t this beautiful?”
“It is.” You look off into the sunset, and you’re able to forget all the weirdness you created for yourself lately and the distance you tried to put between you and Taehyung. You notice in your peripherals that Taehyung is looking at you, so you turn your head towards him.
The two of you lock eyes, but neither of you speak. You just stand there, holding each other’s gaze, allowing the soft breeze to blow between you.
“I love you, Tae,” you sigh.
“I love you, too.”
“No. I love you, Tae.”
He steps closer, leaning in slowly and bending his head down so that his face is level with yours, and then he kisses you, so softly and gently.
“I love you, too, Y/N.”
He pulls back and scans your face, trying to gauge your reaction. You simply look at him with bewildered eyes. This kiss was nothing like you expected, but it was everything you wanted in a kiss. Delicate, tender, loving.
“Y/N,” Taehyung says softly. “Can I kiss you again?”
You’re still too stunned from the first kiss to react. But then you simply nod.
When he kisses you, you kiss him back harder.
Tumblr media
Somehow, you and Taehyung end up lying down in the middle of the strawberry field, facing each other, surrounded by the fragrant plants and their berries.
“Have you always loved me?” You utter softly, cupping his face and stroking his cheek with your thumb.
“Of course.” He looks at you with a tender expression.
“Romantically?”
He shakes his head. “No.”
“Then what changed?”
Taehyung places a hand on your hip and pulls you in so that your bodies are touching. “You know what changed. Because it was the same for you.”
You nod solemnly. “So you were awake too.”
“I was.”
Much later, the sun is long gone, and the moon is high in the sky. Taehyung’s arm is around your shoulder, keeping you close to him. Your head rests on his chest, and your arm is slung lazily across his stomach. Billions of stars glitter above you, far more abundant and brilliant than what can be seen in the city. It’s not cold. There is a warm, gentle breeze that caresses your skin, calming you as you both silently enjoy each other’s company. You start to drift asleep when Taehyung speaks again.
“Hey, what if I dyed my hair pastel pink? Like the color of strawberry milk?”
You turn your head so that you can look at him. “Shut up. You would not.”
“Maybe I would!” He challenges. “Don’t underestimate me, Y/N.”
You chuckle and kiss him on his jaw.
“Hey, maybe we can go to New York and visit the strawberry field one day. You know, the one in the Beatles’ song.”
“You know it’s not like an actual field right?”
“What?”
“Yeah, I saw pictures online. It’s just some sad patch of grass.”
Taehyung looks at you incredulously. “Then why write a whole song about it?”
“I don’t know, Tae. I don’t know.”
You lie there, looking at each other in silence. You reach your hand up and cup his cheek.
Although there’s no one else around you to hear, it’s just so quiet here that it feels wrong to disturb the peace, so you whisper, “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” he whispers back.
He leans closer and kisses you.
“What are we going to tell Jimin?” You think about how weird this conversation would be, telling your baby brother that you and his best friend are now dating.
“We don’t have to tell time anything if you don’t want to. We can let him know when you’re ready.”
You nod and he kisses you on the forehead.
“I think the longer we wait, the harder it will be to tell him.”
Taehyung nods understandingly. “I agree.”
“Hey, can you make me some strawberry milk when we get home?”
He gives your shoulder a squeeze and places another kiss atop your head. “Of course.”

Drag Race! - Newsies (Pride) Month . Day 13
( buttons ) + ( drag queens )
a/n: i had this idea a while ago but i didn’t know how to do it so let’s see how it goes // also FUCK i love drag race
warnings: none
background: A few of the newsies LOVE Rupaul’s Drag Race. They’ve seen every season and rewatch old seasons when waiting for new episodes. Buttons has never seen the show despite his friends asking him to. He finally sits down with them to watch a previous season of their choice and begins to learn what it’s all about. The boys realize something they never have before and decide to run with it.
( this story only really works if you picture Damon J. Gillespie’s version of Buttons btw )
——————————————————————————
“Buttons! We’re gonna rewatch a season. You wanna watch finally? This one’s a good one, trust me.”
“Hmm...okay why not. But if it’s not good you owe me.”
“And if you like it, you owe us.”
Race slid over and made room for Buttons on the already full couch.
“I didn’t know all you guys liked Drag Race”, Buttons asked semi-shocked.
“Of course! You’ve never seen a competition like this, B, trust me. It’s got it all! Drama, beauty, friendship, iconic quotes, fights...man you don’t know what you’re missing!” Mush called out from the armchair.
“Well stop telling me and put it on so I can see for myself!” Buttons replied, ready to see what all the hype was about.
Race turned on the TV and opened up his purchased shows. He bought every season, no matter what.
“This is the best All Stars season”, he said, hovering the section over All Stars 3.
“Uh? Race?” Davey called out from the opposite armchair of Mush.
“Yeah?”
“Don’t you mean All Stars 2 is the best?”
“No? What are you on, Dave? Crack!?”
“Are you? Clearly All Stars 2 is the best!”
Buttons could see how serious the boys were about their show.
“Okay, okay, okay. Let’s settle this”, Davey said, getting up from his chair, “Raise your hand if you think All Stars 2 is the best.”
Davey, Jack, Mush, Kid Blink, Albert, Specs, Tommy Boy, and Jojo all raised their hands.
“Guys!” Race yelled, distressed.
“Alright hold up. Now raise your hand for season 3.”
Race’s hand shot up, along with Kenny, Smalls, Romeo, Elmer, and Henry.
“Thank you guys! At least I know a few of you have taste.”
“Crutchie, why didn’t you raise your hand?” Davey asked.
“Cause I like All Stars 1”, he replied.
Both Davey and Race stopped to look at him and couldn’t help but laugh.
“Who likes season 1?” Race joked.
“I do! I love Jujubee okay! She was robbed!”, he retorted defensively.
“You think everyone was robbed”, Jack butted in.
Buttons just sat and listened, more confused than ever.
There was a pause and then Race couldn’t help but speak back up.
“But like, tell me, how, HOW is season 2 better than season 3?” Race argued.
“Do you want it in a list or a paragraph cause we’re gonna be here for a while”, Albert quickly snapped back.
“List them off, let’s see what you got, Dasilva!”
“Bet! Hmm, where to start...” Albert began sarcastically, “Oh yeah! KATYA! ALASKA! ALYSSA! PHI PHI! ADORE! Must I continue?”
“Be my guest.”
“The entirety of ‘Read U Wrote U’—“
“Even Roxxy’s verse?” Race butted in.
“We don’t talk about that one and you know that”, Albert said very quickly and even more defensive than before.
“Alright, alright! Well based off majority, All Stars season 2 is the best”, Davey spoke up, trying to regain order.
“Well based off who bought every season, All Stars 3 is the best and that’s what we’re watching so sit down or don’t”, Race ended, pouting like a child having a tantrum.
“So are we watching the best one or Race’s favorite?” Buttons spoke up, still confused on what just happened.
At the same time Race said “the best” and Albert said “Race’s favorite”.
They looked at each other with angry eyebrows and continued on.
“Sorry I asked”, Buttons replied, trying to stop the tension.
“Look what you guys did! Buttons is scared and probably doesn’t even want to watch anymore!” Elmer called out.
They all looked at Buttons who wouldn’t admit it, but was a bit more nervous than before.
“Am I gonna get this heated when I watch?” He asked.
“Honestly...yeah. But it gets less scary when you know what to argue with and when it’s a valid argument”, Jack answered.
“Can we just put it on! Damn guys”, Mush yelled, hushing everyone up.
Race was still lowkey mad but continued on—for Buttons’ sake.
He started the first episode up and they all paid attention, watching like they haven’t seen it before. Acting like if they rewatch it they’ll be a different winner or someone won’t go home as early this time around.
They watched as the queens entered the workroom.
Until they got to the one, the only...
Kennedy Davenport.
She announced herself and Buttons’ eyes went wide.
“Davenport?”
This was the first time he spoke up since the episode started.
“Yeah! Most drag queens are part of a larger drag family and they have a drag mom. So Kennedy is in the house of Davenport and—“ Race started.
“How do they get that last name?” Buttons interrupted.
“Well it just depends, some people got it from just being friends with other drag queens but now usually it’s whoever ‘adopts’ you and kinda take you under their wing in the drag community. Your drag mom helps you out and usually has a family resemblance or a similar style yanno. Like any family!” Race explained.
“But the last name? And resemblance?” Buttons insisted.
“Geez Buttons, you’re admit aren’t you? At least you wanna learn.”
“No. Race...what’s my last name?”
“Uh?”
Race thought for a moment but couldn’t come up with anything.
“Wow. What a friend you are?” Buttons said, semi-sarcastically.
“Davenport”, Albert spoke up.
All eyes turned to Buttons.
Race’s eyes widened and you could practically see the light bulb pop over his head.
“Oh my god, B. You know what we have to do, right?”
“Uh...continue with the episode and act like nothing happened?”
“Nope! We have to put you in drag!”
“I was hoping you’d say anything besides that.”
“Oh come on, B! You’ll be perfect! You already have the Davenport resemblance—“
“—That’s racist.”
“Not racist. Anyway, your family is from Texas, and you have a gorgeous face. You’ll be a perfect Davenport!”
Something inside Buttons made him want to do it. Maybe it was seeing how excited his friends were. Maybe it was the fact that after only watching the first 2 minutes of the show he could already tell it was special. Maybe it was his own curiosity. But he couldn’t say no, his heart wasn’t letting him.
He was quite. Thinking real hard. But he just couldn’t make out the word ‘no’.
“So? What do you say, B?” Race asked, flashing his most persuasive puppy dog eyes.
Buttons let out a heavy breath.
“I mean...what‘s the worst that could happen? Right?”
Race’s face lit up and he immediately jumped out of his seat. He squealed with joy like a little girl.
“Okay Davey, call Sarah and have her bring over all her makeup and some of her nicest dresses, I’m sure they’ll be around the same size, B’s pretty thin and feminine—“
“—Hey!” Buttons butted in.
Race ignored him and kept going.
“Say it’s an emergency. I have heels he can wear so just get the rest, asap. In the meantime, B, you need to come up with your drag name.”
Davey followed instructions while everyone else got to work trying to find a good name for Buttons.
“Guys why don’t—“
“Hold on, B. I’m thinking.”
Buttons kept trying to butt in but with everyone “thinking” they wouldn’t listen.
Finally he just shouted it out.
“Guys! I already have a nickname! Can’t I just keep ‘Buttons’?”
Everyone looked at each other dumbfounded.
Why didn’t they think of that?
After all the chaos of name picking, Sarah arrived with everything Davey asked for. So they immediately got to work.
Buttons had 4 people working on his face almost at the same time. One person would start and then another would pick up where they left off; using their strengths.
After what felt like the longest and most painful thing to happen to his face, he was done...with that part.
Buttons wasn’t allowed to look in a mirror until they were all done. Race wanted something of a “big reveal”.
Race went into a room with Buttons and helped him finish getting ready.
“I don’t have any padding so we’re just gonna have to work with what you got...which ain’t a lot—“
“Hey!”
“I’m being honest! You ain’t got the proportions but we’ll just try to emph up your silhouette.”
He picked out the best dress Sarah brought—and the only one he thought would fit Buttons. It was long, gold, and fully sparkly from the neck to the floor.
“Hmm. How familiar are you with tucking?” Race asked.
“Uh?”
“I forgot this was your first time watching drag race. Uh, okay so what you do is...”
While Race explained the process of tucking, Buttons’ eyes grew wide and concerned. All Race had to do was look at the expression on Buttons’ face to know it wasn’t gonna happen.
“Alright, no tucking...got it. Okay so just put the dress on and I’ll get the heels and the wig.”
“Why do you just have a wig?”
“Why don’t you?”
Race left the room and returned—heels and wig in hand—to see a very confused Buttons trying to zip up the back of the dress.
Race couldn’t help but laugh and walked over to help him. He pulled the dress down, walking circles around his friend fixing everything into place.
He squeezed all Buttons’ curly hair under a wig cap and placed the new hair on just right. Race styled it to perfection—big, blonde, and beautiful—fit for any Davenport. Buttons had never smelt—or tasted—that much hairspray in his life.
“Step into these heels and come out when you’re ready. Give us a little runaway walk. The biggest thing about being a drag queen is confidence!”
Race left the room and went out to the living room with everyone else. They all waited anxiously to see the newest daughter in the Davenport family.
Coming out the door, Buttons was a whole new person. He switched from being the shy, nervous, and quiet Buttons all his friends knew, to a confident, flirtatious, and gorgeous drag queen that they want to know. He had his own drag persona and she was gonna live in this moment.
“Look at her though!” Race called out.
Buttons walked through the living room like she was on the main stage of Rupaul’s Drag Race.
Jack put on some runway music and Buttons owned the room.
She swayed her hips, gave some turns, and smiled her gorgeous smile. She looked like a whole pageant queen and the boys were living for it.
She was giving them body. She was giving them smile. She was giving them personality. She was giving them everything they didn’t know she had in her.
Everyone clapped, snapped, laughed, and shouted.
“You’re beautiful! You’re perfect! You look like Linda Evangelista!” Mush called out.
“You’re a model!” Jack continued.
“Buttons! Your smile is gorgeous!” Kid Blink finished.
“She’s a woman!” Kenny yelled.
“She is what?” Specs started.
“Sickening!” Romeo finished.
“Yas gawd!” Elmer called out.
“Shantay you stay, sweetheart!” Davey laughed.
Buttons finished her little walk around and couldn’t help but smile her widest smile. She still hadn’t seen what she looked like but damn she was feeling herself.
“Someone call the Davenports, they’ve got a new family member!” Albert joked.
Buttons finally looked in the mirror and couldn’t even recognize herself. She looked like a whole woman.
“You guys really went all out...I look gorgeous, henny!”
Everyone laughed.
“Am I doing this right?” Buttons asked, trying to pick up drag language and culture by just what the boys have been saying.
They all took pictures and let Buttons feel herself a little longer.
“Okay, I don’t know how much longer I can wear all this. How do they do it for so long? It’s only been 15 minutes and I’m dying!” Buttons said.
“Alright, sweetheart. Let’s bring you back down to Earth”, Race joker, walking Buttons back to the room.
While helping Buttons de-drag, Race couldn’t help but have a heart full of joy.
“Hey, B?”
“Yeah, Race?”
“Thanks for agreeing to do all this. I know it’s not really your thing but it meant a lot to us. And you looked absolutely stunning! I couldn’t believe it!”
“You know, I’m not ugly, Race”, Buttons joked.
“I know, I know. But still...thanks.”
“It was fun. I had a good time. Maybe we can do it again at some point? Maybe next time we’ll put you in drag along with me.”
“You don’t even know how long I’ve wanted to do that, B. You got yourself a deal.”
“Next time.”
“Next time.”

Y/C = Your country
You couldn’t believe it. This was it, the trip you had wanted to go on for so many months.  It was hard to wrap you’re head around it. Usually when you were talking about places you wanted to visit, different countries and so forth it almost never happened. Especially not if It was to far away. But there you were waiting by the gate at the airport for a plane that was going to take you to South Korea. A 16 hour-long journey and that would be it. Your family was hesitant to let you go because it was so far away but they knew that it was something that you really wanted to do for yourself. They were afraid that you would like it way more than you’re small boring home country, and it would compel you to settle down there. And in the back of your mind you had already thought about it. But you promised your family that you would come back home.
Right before you got on the plane you got a text from your mother.
(Ice Mommy) : Hi love! I hope you will have a safe trip and call me the first thing you do when you land. I love you so much and I miss you so much already!
PS. Be carful of pickpockets, hold your bags tight. Xx
She was already so worried about you.  In the text she seamed composed but you had learnt to read between the lines. She was extremely worried. You hade never been this far from home before and who could blame her for worrying.
(You) : Hi mom, were about to take off any second now. Everything is going well! I love you to but I promise you this time will fly by and will see each other soon. Haha I will mom, love you xx
You started to settle in to your seat and looked out the window when the plane started to take off. You caught yourself smiling and with butterflies in your stomach but you couldn’t distinguish if it was just the feeling of the plane lifting or it hade to do with that you actually went through with this journey. Ether way it didn’t matter, you were happy.
After many hours of looking out the window and drifting in and out of sleep the captain informed that we were about to touch down in Seoul. You felt groggy from the long journey when you stood and awaited your luggage. You were probably pretty jet lagged, but you had never flown this far away before so you could only guess that was what this feeling was. Once you got your luggage you went to search for the cab driver that was going to take you to the place you were going to stay. You walked out to arrivals and saw an older man holding up a sign with you’re name on it. Miss. Y/N to be more exact. In your home country they didn’t use miss and mister, it was refreshing and a bit fun. You waved at the older man and started to walk towards him. He greeted you, and to your surprise he spoke to you in English. Well it wasn’t that hard to figure out that you weren’t from here and he was just being polite. But you instantly greeted him back in Korean. You didn’t want to waste all those hours you put down to learn Korean all by your self back home. He was surprised and flashed you a big grin and told you to follow him to the car. Once seethed in the car and the old man started driving he started to ask you what such a sweet young girl was doing all by her self in Korea. You told him that this was one of your dreams and he chuckled. With that the driver smiled once again and said ¨Well, welcome to Korea Y/N. I think you’re going to have a wonderful time here!¨ His kind words warmed your hearth and you were happy that the first person you met were so nice and welcoming. ¨Thank you, I believe I will¨
The place that you were staying at was a pretty nice place. An apartment with a small kitchen, living room and a good-sized bedroom. You hade first planned to stay at a hostel or hotel. But your mom and dad felt it was safer to rent an apartment instead. You were happy that they came up with that idea. This was mush more comfortable than a hotel room or a hostel. Since you were going to stay for a couple of months this was almost cheaper as well. And that made your wallet happy. And this way you didn’t have to put out so much money one eating food out. You could just go to one of the markets and by some ingredients and cook back at the apartment.
Before you turned in for the night you picked up your phone to call your parents. The call was short, but you just wanted to tell them that you had settled in and that everything was fine. With that you threw yourself on to the big bed and drifted off to sleep, you were so exited to what these mouths here had in store for you.
The next day you had gone to the store to buy some things you needed for the kitchen so that you could make yourself some breakfast and so it lasted for a couple more days. You also picked up some necessities all girls need. You spent most of the morning settling in to the new apartment. Hung up your clothes and fixed the shelf’s in the bathroom. When you were all done you decided to jump in to the shower quickly before going out to get to know the city.
You walked around for hours you didn’t even notice how long you had been out. So mesmerized by your new surroundings. You were abruptly woken up from your hypnosis when your stomach rumbled so loudly you almost thought the people that passed you by noticed. You decided to still your hunger and you went in to a small bar you saw across the street. ¨Some food and a beer would be nice right now¨ you said to yourself. You ran over the street and went in to the bar. Once there you walked up to the bartender and ordered some nachos and a beer. You waited by the bar while your order was getting ready. You looked around the bar, it was a small bar with dark interior, almost like one of those sports bar you had been to when you were in London. You had always liked these kinds of bars. There was something warm and cozy about them. When your order was finished you took your food and beer and went over to what almost looked like a small scene with one step up were there stood two old brown chesterfield sofas with a small round coffee table in the middle. A meter long fence made out of wood enclosed the scene; it looked like small columns like they have on buildings but on a much smaller scale of course. You sat your beer and food down on the coffee table and sunk down on the comfortable sofa. You sat so that you had a panoramic view of the place, you could see the whole bar from were you sat. The bar must have a slow night cause there were only a couple other guests there. You ate some of your food and drank your beer in peace while you sank your self down in one of your books about sightseeing in Seoul that your sister bought for you just before you left for Korea.
After an hour or so and three more beers, it was almost 22.00. Your head snapped from the book when you herd the door open. In came two younger men that headed straight to the bar to order some drinks. They were dressed nicely in jeans and black hoodies and long jackets that almost hit the floor. They both had masks on their faces. You never really understood the meaning behind them but you knew that they hade become quit a fashion trend in many Asian countries. One of the men had a black fisherman’s hat as well. It almost looked like they were trying to hide themselves. You could see that one of them hade silver blonde hair and the other one charcoal black. You didn’t think much more of them and turned your eyes back to your book.
After a while you started to feel like the younger men were staring at you, so you turned your gaze towards them and looked the silver haired man straight in his eyes to see what his problem was. There was something familiar with him, almost like you hade either met him before or seen him. But that weren’t possible. The silver haired man didn’t stop staring at you, so there you were having a stair off with some guy you didn’t know. It started to feel uncomfortable but you didn’t want to lose this battle. But it became too much and you returned your gaze to your book. You could see in the corner of your eye that the men were headed straight your way. You didn’t look up when the to men stat them self’s down on the sofa opposite to you.
¨Hello¨ you herd a deep voice say. You hade no other choice than took look up at the men sitting in front of you. Now without their mask and hat. You froze. Now you knew why they looked so familiar. Its was fricking Jungkook and Taehyung from BTS, one of the most famous kpop bands in the world, and on of your favorite bands.
You couldn’t believe it, how did this happen and why would they sit down here with you?! You almost felt like this was some kind of dream and that in any second you were going to wake up in your bed. You never told anyone except your best friend F/N that they were one of the reasons that you got interested in Korea, or more Korean men.. And here you were sitting in a small bar in the outside of the city not with one but with two of the members from BTS. And one of your favorites non the less. Taehyung just ticked all of your boxes; he was wicked good looking, funny, cute and that amazing smile of his. You snapped out of your chock and hoped that it didn’t show on your face as much as it felt it did. ¨Hi there¨ you said way more confidently than you thought you were going to be able to. ¨Why are you sitting here all alone?¨ Jungkook asked with a smug smile on his face. That smile, oh my god, that smile you thought to your self. It sent shook waves all over your body. ¨Well, I was just out and about getting to know my knew surroundings when I craved a beer and some food¨ you sad with a chuckle. ¨Knew surroundings you say, hmm, were are you from then?¨Taeyuang asked while looking at you from head to toe up and down. You still tried to compose yourself, but you felt that you were doing pretty well considering. ¨I’m from Y/C.¨ You looked back and forth from Jungkooks and Taehyungs faces to see what they thought about that. Jungkook Just nodded while Taehyung stared you deep in the eyes and smiled. ¨Y/C you say? We have been there before, but it was a couple of years ago now, isn’t that right kookie?¨ ¨Yeah we have, it’s a beautiful country. How do you know Korean though? I must say that I’m pretty impressed by the way you speak Haden it been for you looks I would have thought you were from here.¨ You started to feel warm all over your body, you could feel how your cheeks started to redden by his praise. It was childish really but you couldn’t help it. ¨I learned Korean my self back home. When I knew that I was coming here I wanted to be able to speak to people and make new friends. You guys are one of the first people i’ve been speaking to since I came here. I’m glad that you can understand what I’m saying. That must mean that all that hard work was not in vain¨ Taehyung laughed. ¨It sure did I must say.¨ You were thinking about if you should mention that you knew who they were. But you didn’t want so seem as an crazy fan girl and you also thought about how hard it must be for them to go out and making new friends without hearing about their job. So you decided that you wouldn’t say anything unless they brought it up.
Suddenly Taehyung stood up and looks at you with wide eyes. ¨I’m so sorry, we haven’t even asked your name. I was just so caught up in knowing why you were here all alone haha..my name is Taehyung, but you can call me Tae. What’s your name?¨He asked holding his and forward wanting you to shake it. ¨Haha, that’s fine, I didn’t think about it ether. My name is Y/N, nice to meet you Tae¨ Taehyung and you shook hands, then Tae looked over at Jungkook and he immediately bend over the coffee table and introduced himself.
If felt like you sat there talking with them for hours. You spoke about what you were doing here in Korea, what your plans were. But also about many other things, fashion, animals, the culture chock that they thought I was going to go trough. The whole time you were sitting there talking the drinks had piled up on the table. You didn’t know how much you had been drinking but it had to be a lot because you started to feel pretty tipsy and by the looks of it Tae and Jungkook wasn’t immune either. You started to feel Taehyung eying your body whilst Jungkook told some funny story. You tried to concentrate on his story but you couldn’t ignore the looks Taehyung swung your way. He was so intense and you could feel your whole body heating up and your insides twisting. It could be the alcohol though. Why would someone like Taehyung be interested in you. He must have hundreds, no millions of girls swarming round him all the time. But still you couldn’t shake the feeling that he wanted to devoir you. Suddenly Jungkook stood up and announced that he hade to visit the bathroom. Left were you and Taehyung and the sexual tension you thought you felt. After Jungkook was gone Tae switched places so that he sat down next to you. Your body was tingeling with excitement but he didn’t have to know that. It seamed that he was pretty tipsy because it seemed like he no longer knew what personal space was, but you hade nothing against it. You were more than happy to have him this close. You sat next to each other and then he put his arm around your back. You could feel the warmth radiating from him. For a while you just sat there without ether of you saying a word. Then Tae turned in towards you and placed a hand firmly at your upper thigh. His face was less than a couple of cm from yours. He swirled his thump up and down a small perimeter on your thigh and you could feel how you started to get wet down there. How was that even possible, he had barley touched you and you were already so turned on. You just wanted to straddle him right there in front of all the other guests you didn’t even care. Taegyung then suddenly broke the silence that hade washed over you both.
¨When I saw you sitting here all alone earlier, I just had to come and talk to you. I have never seen someone so beautiful as you. There is something special about you, so beautiful¨ Tae looked at you with lust in his eyes. Hungry to crash his lips down at yours. You didn’t know what you should say back to him so instead you dug up your confidence that had almost gone away completely when they had sat down by your table earlier. You eagerly kissed his lips. Taehyung kissed you back with such passion you started to feel a little light headed. The kissed deepened when his though started to graze your lips asking for entrance. You gladly invited him in to your mouth and you could hear a small moan coming from him. You felt so good, because of him but also because how obvious it was that he were effected by you. You broke the kiss and looked deep in his eyes with a smug smile across your lips. Your hand touching his chest up and down with feather like strokes. He watched your hands while he groped your thigh harder. ¨Maybe we should slow down a little. There are still people here and Jungkook will probably come back any second¨ you said to him still grazing your fingers across his chest. He smiled at you squeezing your thigh ¨I suppose you are right. But don’t worry about Jungkook he has already found something else to do¨ Tae looked over at the bar were Jungkook stood and talked to some girls. You guessed that Jungkook saw you getting all handsy when he left the restroom and decided to give you two some space. But to be honest it didn’t seem like he minded that at all. The girls that he talked to almost hung over him, and it didn’t surprise you. He was a very attractive man. You turned back your attention to Taehyung and kissed him lightly on the lips. ¨Maybe we should go somewhere were we could get a little more privacy then? If you would be interested it of course¨ you hoped to god that he would say yes. It was some time since you had gotten with someone and Taehyung would be the perfect ‘’first’’ one since your brake from men. ¨You are speaking my language¨ He said and stood himself up from the sofa while holding out his hand for you to grab and get yourself up. He quickly dressed, put his hat and mask on the told me to wait for him by the door while he went to tell Jungkook were he was going. By the looks of it Jungkook had already gotten that message long before ether off us had. He just laughed and waved Taehyung away. Tae returned to you, took your hand and left the bar.
You decided to grab a cab to your apartment since it was quit a long way to walk. He told you on the way that it would be better to go to your place since he hade roommates and they would most definitely disturb you. You didn’t know if he thought that you didn’t know who he was. But he didn’t seem keen on telling you either. But you thought about how you already knew who all of his roommates were. You couldn’t even imagine going to their place and meet all of them. Especially not knowing what probably were going down once you guys got home to the apartment.
You and Taehyung walked up the stairs to your apartment in silence. The atmosphere was tense and you felt week, like your hole body was about to give out. But you didn’t allow that to happen right now. You were way to excited about what would happen once you got inside your apartment. Standing in front of the door, you searched your bag for the keys. You found them and tried to find the keyhole but without much success. Tae laughed and took the keys from you. Of course he had no trouble unlocking the door. You blamed the alcohol and laughed nervously. But deep down you knew that it had nothing to do with that.  You walked in to the apartment and told Tae to make him self at home. You watched him walk towards the sofa in the living room while you went in to the kitchen to bring you guys some beer.
Once you went back to the living room you watched how Taehyung had sat down on the sofa with his hands on the pillows. He looked so good. Before you joined him you walked over to your stereo and put on some low playing music just to lighten the mood and make the silence go away. You noticed how he followed your every move. You saw him standing up and how he started to walk towards you from the corner of your eye. But you didn’t move from the stereo. You wanted to see what he would do. Suddenly he hugged you from behind holding his arms around your waste, you gasped at the sensation, slowly swaying you side to side to the music. His face cupped on your shoulder pressing light kisses on your ear and the down to your neck. You hummed your approval, and you could here him smile against your neck. ¨Yeah, you like that don’t you?¨ He teased as he whispered in your ear. His low voice send chills up and down your spine. ¨I do, I like it very much..¨ You said with a tremble in your voice. ¨What would you like me to do to you huh? I know what I want to do to you, and I knew it from the second a laid my eyes on you¨ He continued kissing you, his hands starting to feel your body out. From your waist up, along your stomach till they reached your breasts and his hands started to massage them. You could feel how your panties started to get soaked through. So little it took to have such of an effect on you, his voice, his hands caressing your body. ¨Is that so? Why don’t you just tell med that instead? I’m intrigued.¨ You flung your head back to give I’m better access to your neck, and he jumped for the opportunity. He pressed his body hard against yours so that you could feel his erect member pressing against your ass. ¨Do you feel how worked up you have made me? All I want to do is to tear this dress off your body and kiss every inch of you. You are so beautiful, but I can bet that you are even more beautiful out of that dress, don’t you think?¨ You reached your hands up to curl your fingers through his thick well styled hair. ¨Please tear it off.. I want to feel your hands all over me. I’m getting all wet just thinking about what your hands can do to my body¨
With that Taehyung turned you to face him and he immediately ripped the dress off you. You gasped when the fabric ripped in half to reveal your almost naked body. Tae stepped back for a moment looking at you up hand down and hummed in approval. Then he reached to the hem of his shirt and pulled it of him and then the same to his pants so that he was left with only his black boxer. You hade seen men without clothes before but damn, this was completely different. He was more fit than you thought. But all you had seen before were only pictures and videos on social medias and they didn’t do him justice. He was lean but still well built, and it almost looked as he was glowing. What a sight.
You both stood there for a couple off minutes just to take in each other’s bodies. ¨Oh my god. You look so good. Ready to eat don’t you think? I bet you taste like a slice of heaven¨ You laughed at his bluntness and gave him a teasing smile. He lifted his gaze off you and in less then a second he stood in front off you lifting you up so that he held one leg in each hand. You could feel his hard dick rubbing against your wet core while he carried you to the bedroom.
He laid you down on the bed and then crawled up between your legs. He flashed you a sweet and teasing smile as he leaned over you to kiss you. You couldn’t take this. It all went to slow, you had been worked up for hours and you needed some release right now. With that in your mind you grabbed him by the shoulders and swung both of you around so that you straddled his crotch. Tae was shocked by your sudden determination but you could see clearly that he liked it. ¨Eager are we? I knew you were a wild one the instant I saw you. Isn’t that right baby? He said as he brought his hands up to cup your face, bringing you down to his face and kissing along your jawline up to your ear and the down your neck. The sensation made you shiver and you let out a loud moan. You were to worked up to get out anything in response so you just replied him with starting to grind on his erect cock. Hard but slow, back and forth. He helped you intensify it by meeting your movements and in a short while the room was filled with both of your moans. ¨You feel so good grinding on my hard cock baby¨ He said while e flung his head back on to the pillow. You decided to teas him a bit to get him to feel how he had made you feel the entire evening. You usually didn’t do much dirty talk but with Taehyung it seemed different. And you could tell that it was one off his kinks. ¨Yeah? You like feeling my soaked through panties grinding up and down you’re big cock ha?I love it, your cock is so big and I want to taste every inch off it¨ You said this while continuing your grinding and looking him right into his eyes. With your words he started to squirm under you and let out some low grunts. ¨God you are so dirty, I love it¨ He said whilst he put his hands on your thighs and squeezed them harshly then reached down to your as and slapped it hard with one off his hands. You gasped at the feeling. It didn’t hurt, it made you clench your walls around nothing. You were so ready for him. You lifted your self off him and crawled back and sat on your knees. You leaned over him to give him a small peck on the lips. You then presided to kiss him from his neck down to his nipples and down over his defied abs. When you reached his boxer you played with the hem.
You looked up to him to see how he liked what you were doing. But you couldn’t see his face because it was buried in the pillow. When he lifted his head from the pillow you could see that his eyes was closed and that he gritted his teeth. You slowly returned your attention to his boxers and hooked two fingers inside the hem and started to slid them down and off him. Once the boxers landed on the floor you couldn’t stop looking at the surprisingly big cook that emerged in front off you. It looked so hard that it could burst any given minute. You started to kiss him everywhere around his cock but not were he wanted you the most. You noticed him propping him self up on his elbows to see what you were doing. You knew you hade teased him for a good while and decided to give him some release. You brought your hand up to grab his balls, massaging them lightly. His whole body twitched at the sensation and with that you took his hard cock inside of your mouth. Like you had no time to spear you immediately took his whole length down your throat so that you were deep throating him. You could feel the tip at the back of your throat almost making you gag. You looked up to se Tae’s face expressing, pure bliss. He met your gaze and reached out his hand to get your hair away from your face. ¨Oh shiit.. If you keep going like that I’m going to cum any second. How are you so good at th..oo fuck¨ He was caught off when you started to swallow around his length. You continued bobbing your head up and down, taking in the feel of him in your mouth. He was heavy on your tongue and the taste of him was like the best flavored candy you had ever tasted. With that you decided it was enough. You didn’t want him to cum to fast.
You reached your hands behind your back and unclasped your bra and threw it behind you on the floor. Tae’s hands reached for your breast immediately massaging them with a good amount of pressure. ¨You are so fucking sexy Y/N. So beautiful, your perfect¨ And with that said he dove mouth first down to one off your breast to suck your nipple. Gently sucking and licking one of your nipples while his other hand continued to massage the other. You signed out in pure pleasure. It was so long since a man made you feels this way. And although you hadn’t come very far you could already tell that this was going to be the best sex you have had in a long time. You removed Tae’s hands from your body laid yourself down on your back and seductively slid off your thongs while still holding on to the eye contact with him. You wanted to see how he would react. What you could see by his facial expression could just be explained as pure hunger. You slowly spread your legs wide so that he could see every inch of you. ¨Do you like what you see Taehyung? Look how wet you have made me. My pussy is begging to be filled, its s-ooo e-empty¨ You stammered while flashing a fake pout and big puppy eyes. In one swift move Tae sifted from his position so that he now laid with his face between your legs he looked up at you and lifted one of his eyebrows. He looked so sexy between you legs, and you still couldn’t believe that Kim Taehyung laid their intoxicated by you. ¨You are such a teas Y/N, you are driving me crazy. And I can promise you that I will fuck you so hard that you will have trouble walking tomorrow, would you like that baby?¨ He started kissing your thighs, still looking deep into your eyes while he waited for your response. You couldn’t help but quiver under his touch and a couple of week moans left your mouth when you herd the words coming out off his mouth. ¨O-oh my god Tae, pleas just fuck me. I need you so bad¨ You said. ¨Oh I will, but first I’m going have a taste of you¨ And with that he faced your wet throbbing pussy and licked your slit all the way from your entrance up to your clit where he stopped and started sucking. The feeling was amazing. You had never felt this way before when someone hade been eating you out. It was always pleasant but not as good as this. You didn’t know if it was because of how turned on you were by him or if all the others that hade done this on you before just sucked at it.
You were a moaning mess when he continued his movements. He suddenly looked up at you and you whined from the loss of stimulation. ¨mmh shit, You taste so sweet, just like I imagined. I could stay down here for hours you taste so good¨ When that was said he retuned down to your clit and started kitten lick it the taking your sensitive nub in to his mouth again and started sucking. You could feel how he stared circling one of his long slender fingers around your entrance, coating it with your juices before pushing it inside of you. You, Laing down on your back, mouth agape moaning his name while he started thrusting his finger faster in and out of you. He then adding another finger, he curled his fingers inside of you and you could feel how your high was approaching.
¨Taehyung, Tae, stop!¨You almost screamed out. Tae’s movements came to an abrupt stop while his head flung up to look at you his face flashing true concern. ¨What is it?! Did I hurt you? I’m so sorry oh my god!¨He truly looked terrified. You swung yourself up on your knees simultaneously pushing him down the bed to his back. You then started to crawl on top of him. ¨Oh, no! Of course you didn’t! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you like that. I.. its just that I was so close to cum and I didn’t want to come until I had your cock inside me¨ You looked down at his chest shyly, a little bit embarrassed. ¨Oh.. OH. I see, that we can fix baby¨  you could see the relief in his eyes while taking your chin between his fingers pushing himself up to give you an hungry kiss. When you broke the kiss it almost looked like he was even more turned on by your words. And to be true, it boosted your ego.
You probed your self up and reached your hand between your legs to grab his cock. You lifted your self up and positioned your self with him, slowly pushing yourself down on his dick. The sensation stole some moans from both you and Taehyung as the feeling of him filling you up intoxicated both of you. When you sat down on him completely you slowly started to move back and forth, while having your palms securely placed on his chest. Tae reached his hands for your ass, gripping both of your cheeks with force as he helped you with your movements. ¨Shit Y/N. You feel so tight, so warm and wet. You like riding my cock huh?¨He said mouth half opened gasping for air. ¨I do, your cock I so big Tae. Its filling me up so good. I cant wait till you cum deep inside my pussy¨ You said while continuing riding him, picking up your pace white every grind of your hips. Tae loosened the grip on one of your ass cheeks and slapped it hard with made you moan even loader making your walls clench around his dick. He could feel it, and it felt so good for him, almost to good. ¨You are so dirty aren’t you? Look how eagerly you are riding my cock huh?¨ He said while he started to thrust harder and harder in to you. ¨You feel so good around my cock baby. You want me to cum in your pussy hah?¨ He said while looking you deep in the eyes and giving you another hard slap on your as. He the proceeded to lift your hips with his hands to start drill his cock inside of you from below. It felt so good, and you could feel the knot starting to form inside your stomach. You looked down on Taehyung and you could see the sweat pearling on his face and chest. He looked out of this world drilling into you from underneath. You would never forget this moment.
You reached down to rub your clit to help yourself reaching your high while Taehyung continued. ¨Tae im..im, going to.. omg. Pleas cum inside me. I want to feel all of you¨ You could feel how close you were to coming, you felt your walls starting to clench around his cock. ¨Come for me baby, I want to feel you cum all over my hard dick shiit!¨ And that was all you needed to hear as your orgasm washed over you. Tae still fucking you hard through your high, your legs started to shake and clenching around his dick uncontrollably, your back arched and head flung back. ¨Omg Tae!¨ You practically screamed out. In one swift move Tae swung you around so that you laid on your back. He continued fucking you harder then you ever felt as he was chasing his own high. You decided to help him along and started to clench around him to give him more pleasure. ¨Oh shit Y/N! Your so good, im go…nna cum any second shit¨ He was a panting mess. You loved seeing him coming undone by your touch. ¨Yeah?cum for me baby! I want to feel you cum inside me. You have been so good to me tonight, now cum. Please I wan to be filled up by you!¨ Taehyung grunted and moaned, going crazy by your words. It only took a couple more sloppy thrusts until he pushed himself inside you as deep as was possible and came inside you. You could feel the warmth off his release. You preceded with clenching around him to milk every last drop out of him. Whit that, he collapsed on top of you, panting in your ear.
He rolled off you so that he laid beside you. Both of you silent, staring up at the ceiling. You were the one to break the silence, and all you could muster was ¨Holy shit¨. He looked over at you and smiled, kissing you on your cheek. His demeanor had completely changed. From the dominant and dirty talking man to something more innocent. ¨That.. you were amazing, are amazing¨ He said while kissing you on the lips once more. ¨You are to, I have never felt anything like that before¨ You confessed shyly looking away from him. He turned over to his side propping him self up on his elbow, reaching out his hand to your breasts and slowly starting to trace the outline of them with his slender finger. ¨Neither have I¨ He said continuing playing with his fingers on your chest. You did as he and rolled over to your side so that you were face to face. You both laid there, him playing with his fingers on your chest, you tracing the outline of his face and hair with yours. You stayed like this for some time, neither of you knew for how long. It felt so good and intimate, even more so then the sex.
Suddenly you could feel the aftermath of the act as his cum started to sip out onto your thighs. You slung your self up sitting on the bed a bit embarrassed. Tae flinched at your sudden movement. ¨Whats wrong?¨ He asked carefully. First looking at your face the down to your hands, which were cupping your core. He looked up at your face again with a smug grin on his face. There he was, the other side of him. ¨Oh.. haha. Let me help you with that¨ He said giving you a kiss on your forehead while lifting himself up to walk over to the bathroom, still completely naked. What a sight. He came back from the bathroom white a dampened towel. ¨Lean back baby, let me take care of you¨ You were slightly chocked by his actions. ¨I can fix it myself, you don’t have to¨ But he ignored you and pushed you down on the bed and spread your legs. It felt weird, and for some reason you felt so exposed. But when you looked at his face giving you a reaching smile you calmed down and the embarrassment faded away. He broke away from your eyes as they traveled down between your legs. He carefully wiped you clean and then threw the towel in the laundry bin. You looked at him while he returned to your bed patting at the spot beside him for you to come and lay down next to him. He really wanted to stay here? You thought to yourself. What about the other members, wouldn’t they be worried about him? But you couldn’t ask him about it either. Since he didn’t know that you knew. Or did he? You pushed you thoughts away and crawled up beside him. You both laid on your sides, him holding you tight in his arm from behind. You were completely drained off all your energy. And you could feel yourself drifting off to sleep while Taehyung left small kisses along your shoulder. This was the best night of your life.
