MCU Progress

I've watched the first three episodes of Iron Fist (and will be watching episode four tonight).

The only thing I knew going into the show was that most people don't like it.

I didn't know why other than some rumblings about them casting a white man to play Danny. I briefly looked into other reasons and the main one seems to be the pacing of the show is slow.

So far, it doesn't seem slow to me, and I really don't mind a slower pace in shows to begin with, so I don't think that'll ever be a problem for me.

I've been enjoying it and will definitely be getting through it a lot faster than Luke Cage. I don't think I watched any episodes of that show on back-to-back days, but I haven't missed a day with Iron Fist yet.

Progress Update (Knitting)

Finished the shawl! Casting off took like three hours lmao. I'd never done an i-cord cast off before, and there were probably well over four hundred stitches on that damn thing.

Finished two "first drafts" of the gifts I want to make for my beloved friends and am working on the first gift! Hooray!

Progress Update (Writing)

Knitting has consumed me, I had a lot of work to do, and I'm going through some writer's block, so no writing got done this week :(

Love the queer representation, though I have no idea who Eddie is, he seems cool!

@trickofthelights put forward the theory that Billy is that black heart (Eddie, the bf, used a black heart emoji to refer to him) and he's supposed to be in the coven all along, and honestly, I agree! I love Rio in the coven, and she is (supposedly) "the" green witch, but I like the inclusion of Billy as a witch more. And it fits his aesthetic lmao. I like how he went from very basic and "cookie cutter" to emo boy after Billy took over William's body.

THE RALPH BOHNER CAMEO??? At first I thought it was the mailman for some reason, but Ralph Bohner makes so much more sense. I was wondering what happened to him and where he was if Agatha was still in his house, but it just looks like he fled directly after WandaVision, leaving everything behind. I did like the detail of Agatha wearing a Bohner family reunion shirt, indicating that Ralph left everything behind.

As a side note, I do write these pretty much directly after I watch the episode on Wednesday nights, so if my thoughts seem scattered or if I'm just freaking out over what happened in the episode, it's because I'm still processing!

MCU Progress

Season one of Luke Cage officially done.

As I posted a couple of days ago, I didn't really like it. Shades was the only character I could get down with for most of the season. Mariah grew on me a little bit in the last couple of episodes and, as much as I didn't care for that kiss, seeing her and Shades on top now I can get behind.

Also...Claire and Luke? Yeah...No...Didn't feel that chemistry at all. Not even platonically.

Tonight is Doctor Strange. I've only seen this movie once and remember feeling pretty neutral about it. My only strong feeling was I thought that Mads Mikkelsen was wasted in the movie.

I'm interested in seeing how I think about it tonight. I do like Doctor Strange, overall, and I really loved him in Midnight Suns as well, so I have been itching to get to him in my MCU journey.
