Stained Glass Series: Time's Turnabout

THE GREEK GODS IN MY STYLE — ATHENA, APHRODITE :

The Goddess of Wisdom and the Goddess of Love are done! I love me my (olive and seafoam) green girlies. 😌

So obviously, the shade of the most prominent color of their outfits correspond to something they're linked to.

Athena with olive green because of the olive tree she planted which earned her patronage over Athens, and Aphrodite with seafoam green because of her being born from seafoam (technically it was something else but we ain't getting into that today).

I actually really struggled with figuring out the colors for Athena. She was the first to give me trouble like that. But I knew I wanted her to be green from the get go. With the amount of mortals she's helped, I feel like she'd have a pretty strong earthly connection. Plus apparently green abstractly symbolizes wisdom, so there's also that!

It was my lovely partner who had suggested to make it so that the back of her helmet was basically the face of an owl, as a reference to owls turning their heads 270 degrees. It works really well too because it is said that one of the purposes of Athena's owl is to watch her blind spots so I think it's cool to incorporate that into her outfit.

Now for Aphrodite... I have quite a bit to say.

I gave her pointed ears to signify the unusual way in which she was born. She and Poseidon share this trait, alongside the both of them having green eyes. Idk, I think it's an interesting way to show their connection to the sea.

I love how, in many different fan depictions, her bed is a clam. Absolutely love that nod to her origins. I came into designing her with the idea that I wanted to somehow incorporate that clam into her design and I did so by making it so that her cloak and trail both form the shape of one.

The white roses are meant as a nod to the Greek myth of how red roses came to be, specifically the version where, while running to save her mortal lover Adonis, Aphrodite cuts herself and her blood ends up staining pure white roses.

Finally, one thing I really love doing when designing characters is making it so that there's a fair bit of asymmetry. Namely in the case of their outfits. That's something I've been trying to implement for all the gods. But in Aphrodite's case, I intentionally made it so that what she has on is relatively even, with her actually having two of each accessory on either side of her body. This is meant to be a nod to how she was often described to have been born "perfectly symmetrical".

It had stormed in Hawkins for a week straight. Seven days of dodging raindrops and spending your free time cooped up in the house. You were on the verge of going stir-crazy until the sun finally peeked out from behind the clouds this morning. 

Plucking your binoculars from their spot on your shelf, you head out into the woods. Before the storms, a pileated woodpecker had made a nest in one of the trees, and you were anxious to see if it had survived the lousy weather. 

Mud squelched beneath your boots as you trudged towards your favorite picnic bench. There wasn’t anything special about it per se, but it stood out from the others because of the JH+JB carved into the table. Whoever JH and JB were, you hoped their love was still strong. 

You adjusted the focus on your binoculars, aiming your gaze at the tree where you’d seen the nest just over a week ago. A soft sigh of relief slipped through your lips when you saw that it was still intact; in fact, there were now three little eggs inside of it. 

Hours felt like mere minutes as you soaked up each moment outdoors, following the calls of the sparrows that populated the tiny forest. Hawkins wasn’t a bustling city, but it was still nice to have a reprieve from the normal sounds of the suburbs. Out here, there were no car horns honking, no tired parents scolding their mischievous children, no—

“You here to buy or sell?”

The sudden noise startled you; if you didn’t have the strap looped around your wrist, you almost certainly would have dropped your binoculars. That would have been embarrassing. Just like the yelp you let out when the man spoke. 

“Whoa, didn’t mean to scare you.” He gave a sheepish grin and held up his hands in surrender. “Just figured if you wanted to buy, I could offer you a sweet deal. But if you’re selling…well, you’re kinda in my spot, so…”

You collected your thoughts, trying to keep from getting lost in his deep brown eyes. “No. I mean, neither. N-Not buying or selling. Just, uh, birdwatching.”

He cocked a brow. “Birdwatching?”

“Y-Yeah.” You scrambled for more words, unused to being tongue-tied. “Y’know, just…watching birds.”

“I gathered that much.” He sat next to you, placing a tin lunchbox on the table. “So what kind of birds are we watching?”

You explained the whole nest-surviving-the-storm saga, expecting him to roll his eyes or get bored. But he didn’t. Instead, he looked at you with those beautiful doe eyes and gestured to your binoculars. 

“Mind if I take a look?”

You nodded and handed them over, hoping that the time he spent looking through them would afford you the chance to conjure up some actual conversation topics. 

He peered through the binoculars. “I see the nest! Holy shit, there’s about to be some bird babies.” He looked at another tree. “Here we’ve got some sort of brown bird just kinda…doing its thing.” Keeping the binoculars pressed to his eyes, he looked directly at you. “And here we have a really pretty girl who’s gonna let me treat her to ice cream.”

“Sure. Yeah, um, that would be great.” You felt your body tingle with bashfulness. An insanely cute guy was asking you out. “I love ice cream.”

The guy looked surprised, like he couldn’t believe that line worked. “Me, too.” He stood and held out his hand to help you up. 

You accepted it gratefully, but before you stood, you looked at him. “I just realized that I don’t even know your name,” you mused. 

He laughed. “That would be good information, huh?” He shook his head at his own blunder. 

“I’m Eddie Munson. And you are?”

BIKINI STRINGS

Hello friends, I’m joining the @thatdammchickennugget and @finalgirllx ‘s Jinxed July challenge, because the prompts are so fun and I want to do so much more with it 😌.

„I can’t believe you actually made me come here.“ Pansy huffs while she takes her bags out of the taxi's trunk.

“Oh, shut it Pandora. As if I could ever make you do something you didn’t want to. And let’s not pretend I am the reason for you being here.” Draco says in his pompous tone, with a stupid knowing smirk on his face.

She just rolls her eyes but stays quiet. No. She is over that delusional obsession.  

Since Draco and Hermione started working together in the ministry, and subsequently started dating each other, the two very different friend groups were not very willing to interact.

This “summer holiday trip” was supposed to change that apparently. We’ll see how that works.”

Draco invited everyone to one of his family's homes in the south of France. Prick. He knew how much she loved the region. Especially during the summer.

However, Pansy, being Pansy, complained a lot. She acted like she didn’t want to go, but her best friend obviously knew better. Draco was the only one in school who knew about her teenage obsession. Neville.

She was young, surrounded by darkness and cruelty, and he was the complete opposite. At least it looked like that to her. At first, she hated him for it, along with every other stupidly brave Gryffindor. But observing him every day, in class, the Great Hall, the corridors, it became an obsession. Unhealthy. Especially since he never even spared her a glance.

After the war, everything changed. She built even bigger and stronger walls around herself, and stayed at home, away from the judging, prying eyes, wanting to see her at her lowest. Just because of the world and society she was born into and was forced to grow up in and learn from, people viewed her as a villain, the bad guy, the selfish snake ready to betray anyone. If it wasn’t for Draco, maybe she would be exactly like that. He was the first and only one to realize how close to the edge she was and helped her. Made her go to the mind healer, forced her to go outside, reconnect with people again. She will be forever grateful to him for that.

Socializing with the “great brave lions” though? She could whack him on the head for that one.

She is a tiny bit curious about the Herbology professor. Yes, she researched a little bit about Neville, of course she wouldn’t come completely unprepared.

After putting their things away in their rooms, they are supposed to meet in the living room for the welcome drinks and introductions.

Pansy, absolutely not nervous at all, changed her outfit five times, before settling on a deep green, figure-hugging dress with a snake design traveling from her hip, up across her stomach and back, all the way to her shoulder. She is not gonna be hiding her Slytherin roots this week. Let them side eye her all they want.

As she exits her room, the door at the end of the hallway opens and Neville emerges from his room. FUCK.

He looks at her, eyes soft and expectant, until his eyes travel along her length, from head to toe. When his eyes meet hers again, they are hardened already.

“Hello.” She greets him with her head held high. She is not gonna get intimidated by his stare now. She is stronger than that. However, deep inside she felt giddy and vulnerable since she felt like this was the first time he even looked at her at all. She has to squash all those unwanted emotions down, to not make a fool out of herself.

With hard brown eyes staring at her, he only nods his head in greeting and walks around her to the stairs, leaving her rooted to the spot in front of her door.

With a few deep breaths, she convinces herself she doesn’t care about his opinion of her and goes to meet her friends downstairs.

When she enters the living room, everybody except Neville turns to look at her.

“So dramatic Pansy.” Draco says when he sees what she is wearing. Hermione is smiling over the drink in her hand while looking at Neville and then at her. The little prat told her.

Whatever.

After the first round of drinks instead of introductions, (they knew each other from school anyway, why make it even more awkward than it is?) Pansy went to the beach, her favorite part of this amazing mansion. The way the sun beaming down makes the water sparkle has always been her favorite view. She didn’t even mind going alone, no one else wanted to leave the air-conditioned safety of the house.

After a while of her lying on the beach, under the shade of a cliff and her favorite tree, she hears someone approaching.

Her eyes widen when she catches Neville walking to her. He is already wiping sweat off of his forehead as he stands over her. Merlin, he is tall. And big.

She lays on her lounger, content in her light blue daisy covered bikini, not acknowledging him at all.  

“Hey… Um, I didn’t know if you brought water with you. It’s dangerous not to drink in this heat.” He hands her a big glass filled with ice, water and lemon slices.

Pansy froze. Unbelieving. He was concerned about her?

“Oh. That’s … thank you.” She takes the cup from his hands. His hands. Her eyes catch on his veiny hands with thick fingers that she knows are more often then not working with soil in the Hogwarts greenhouses.

��Are you gonna drink, or…?” Neville raises an eyebrow at her and she finally tears her gaze away from his perfect hands.

She actually brought her own water bottle, so she doesn’t really need to drink, but.. well, he brought it for her and she is grateful and giddy again. She drinks while holding his gaze with her eyes over the top of the glass.

She sees how he looks at her lips and follows the drop of water that escaped from between her lips down her chin and in between her bikini-covered breasts. His cheeks start to look a little red.

He looks parched. Could he be…? Interesting. It gives her a bit of a boost in confidence. Not that she is shy normally anyway.

She offers him the cup with the remaining water. “You look like you could do with a cold drink also. You look parched and… very hot.” She says with a little smirk on her face.

He takes the drink from her and goes even more red in the face. But surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to faze him that much. Interesting. He drinks from the same cup while looking into her eyes intently.

“How can you handle this heat? I’m dying over here.” Neville asks and the staring contest ends.

“I love it when it’s hot. I’m a snake after all, haven’t you heard?” She smirks at him and watches for his reaction similar to the one in the hallway earlier that day.

But this time he just smiles. “Yeah, I’ve heard.” With that he grabs the bottom of his brown T-shirt and in one mesmerizing motion he takes it off over his head.

Pansy just sits there with her mouth open and thankful for the sunglasses she has on her wandering eyes. They travel along his chest, decorated with the perfect amount of hair, down over his stomach, no washboard abs in sight, but he looks manly, strong and bulky. Following the trail of hair on his lower stomach that disappears in his green swim trunks, she is interrupted by Neville clearing his throat. FUCK. Maybe the sunglasses were not enough to cover her reaction to his naked upper half.

He tosses his t-shirt onto the sand and takes off to the water, the sight of his broad back making her mouth dry.

In her same favorite bikini, and beach cover up tied at her hip, she is sitting in a pool chair drinking her sweet pink concoction and looking at all the people having fun at their little pool party that night. Draco is the one coming to her as always.

“Why are you sulking, now?” He asks in his usual tone, but Pansy knows he means well.

“I’m not sulking.” Pansy retorts but looks into her drink again.

“Ok, you’re coming to dance with me. Right now.” With that he takes the drink from her to put it on the nearby table, drags her over to the pool deck, and starts dancing, twirling her around like she is five years old. Tall bastard.

She hates to admit it, but in a few minutes, she is having fun. And everyone around her is having fun also.

Suddenly Draco senses Hermione near him and turns over to grab her waist and pull her against him. Completely forgetting about Pansy. Asshole.

She takes one second to think about what to do next, go sulk into my drink or try to have fun by myself as a big girl that I am?

But she doesn’t have to decide. Strong arms circle her waist from behind and she stumbles into a hard chest.

Neville leans over and whispers into her ear. “I hope you are not going back to your chair. We are supposed to have fun on this trip and get to know each other.”

Her body shivers and of course he notices. “Are you cold?” He asks seriously. She can’t believe he doesn’t know what his whispering and his hands on her body are doing to her. Maybe it’s time to show him.

“No. But now I have to ask you. Can you handle the heat?” with that she starts swaying her hips against him. The music is very sensual and she uses it. She reaches up behind his neck and leans her head back against his shoulder, still pushing her ass into him. Before she closes her eyes she can see him watching her body move intently.

He speaks then, quiet but determined: “I can handle everything you give me, don’t worry Little flower.”

At the nickname she gets very emotional. That’s what she desperately needs in her life. Someone to care for her like he cares for his plants. Give her all the right care and nutrition for her to grow more and live her life finally. Not just survive on the minimum.

Her emotional meltdown is interrupted when she feels his hands on her hips. And it awakens different emotions in her.

His voice rumbles as he talks into her neck. “This little bikini almost killed me. I felt like I couldn’t breathe when I saw you in that skin tight snake dress in the hallway, but this? Daisies just became my favorite flower. Also, “ he traces his finger from her shoulder all the way down to her wrist, “did you know, daisies usually symbolize innocence?”

Pansy’s breath catches in her throat when he turns her around and snakes his hands behind her back.

Pansy smiles devilishly “Well I made a mistake choosing the flower then.” With that, she fists her hand in his soft short curls and crashes her lips on his. She doesn’t mind their friends seeing them kiss, she doesn’t care at all to be honest.

After the initial shock of her lips on his, he kisses her back. And he is not gentle. While he explores her mouth with his tongue, his hand goes to the back of her neck, the other one sliding down to her hip, his fingers playing dangerously with the exposed strings of her bikini. That, with his deep growl against her mouth when she tugged on his hair instantly made her pussy wet.

He was the first to break the kiss after almost passing out without the oxygen.

Looking down at her perked nipples visible in between the innocent daisies: “I guess doing this while still in our swimming suits was not a smart move.” He says breathlessly while holding her close to his body and letting her feel what the encounter did to him.

Pansy smiles up at him and without a word takes his hand and makes him follow her inside.

They don’t look at anyone, so they don’t see Hermione with a knowing and satisfied smirk on her face. 

“Congratulations darling, looks like your scheme worked perfectly.” Draco whispers into Hermione’s ear.

Hermione just smiles at him and says “Oh, but the trip wasn’t my idea. Certain professor basically bullied me into making it happen.”

Hey! 👋 Just wanted to send in a message and say thanks for reblogging my post to leave some of your thoughts on it. I hope you didn’t mind the tag. 😅 Half the time Tumblr breaks links to other blogs for me, so I just thought tagging would be easier. I also apologize if it felt like I was calling you out or something about giving points on pro jedi to anti jedi fans?? 😭 It’s probably just my anxiety, but I still just wanted to clarify in case my words bothered you. I was more just kinda speaking in general to pro jedi fans as a whole.

I definitely agree with your thoughts looking back on it now that the anon might’ve been genuine in the sense they weren’t trolling, but it was clear they just wanted to be told they were right. They didn’t genuinely want to debate. I kinda sometimes look for the best in people even if it’s not there. 🤦‍♀️😂 But yeah… it IS frustrating to have asks open related to answering SW meta posts or fic questions and then just see a kinda benevolently condescending anti/critical jedi ask in there like that.

Getting all the thoughts out helped me cool off from my rage at that YouTube commenter that called Leia a “brat” though for not forgiving Anakin, at least. It’s the little things in life, I suppose. 😌💖😂

I hope you’re doing good! 👍 I do genuinely love hearing your SW takes, whether on Anakin or Jedi or clone stuff in general. I feel like you’re a lot more objective than others can be about Anakin, if that makes sense?? And also just about the clones in general too and your thoughts they might not want to be seen as mandalorians (at least I think I recall you saying that before in a post?), because they’re clones and brothers in arms first and foremost. I personally like the idea of them having mandoa just because I feel like it’s something that would be taught and passed down from the genetic tree of Jango. But I DEFINITELY appreciate the idea that Jango might’ve not been as deified by clones as people believe. 😭 I’m not saying he was the devil, but at the end of the day he plucked out a kid from the thousands he left behind from being his clones, and called it a day.

I wasn't bothered at all, my firmer more negative opinions aren't going to be for everyone! I'm consistently surprised at how many people DO seem to appreciate anything I have to say on the topic, negative or otherwise. I've said this before, but I made this blog as a space for me to express more negative things and I figured that would be kind-of a turn off for people. I'm glad that it's ended up apparently being at least somewhat enjoyable to other people.

It's incredibly funny to hear myself described as "objective" about Anakin given, well, everything. I'm NOT objective about him, obviously, I'm decidedly biased against him. I HAVE tried to approach his character as objectively as I can sometimes if people have asked me to, but I don't like him much and that does color the way I interact with Star Wars and stories he's involved in. People who love Anakin, even if they're extremely pro Jedi at the same time, will often interpret things VERY differently from how I would specifically because they're more inclined to be sympathetic to him and believe the best of him in a way I just can't most of the time.

For the clones, while I've definitely expressed the opinion that they wouldn't want to be considered Mandos before, that's one of my more bitter opinions, one I tend to feel when I'm more annoyed at the whole Mandoclone concept. If I were trying to be more objective about it, I feel less like they wouldn't WANT to be considered Mandos and simply that they AREN'T Mandos. There's never any real indication that the clones feel a connection to that culture aside from like... two little designs on the helmets that could just as easily be explained away in other ways. They never actually speak Mando'a, they never talk about Jango at all, and they don't seem to show a desire to interact with the Mandos when they have the opportunity (Cody and Rex are both around during the Duchess on Mandalore arc, Rex goes to Mandalore with Ahsoka, and Rex/Gregor/Wolffe meet Sabine). Aside from the two tiniest little designs, there's never a single indication that these people ever felt any connection to being Mandalorian at all.

And I personally just find it really boring to just make the clones MandoLite and base their entire culture around one that already exists rather than recognizing that they've got a radically different kind of upbringing that would have caused some VERY different values and traditions from Mandos. They've got their own canonical slang, they've traveling all the time and could be picking up any number of different traditions from the people on different planets (language, food, maybe art and songs and dances and games). I think Mandoclone headcanons often treat the clones as a monolith instead of recognizing that they're individual people in the process of creating their own extremely unique culture. I think the clones deserve more fun and interesting headcanons than just turning them into MandoLite.

I like thinking about what Mizuki was up to mid-timeskip.

If I can ramble (AINI SPOILERS):

I like to think that Mizuki got to hold onto Aiba during the timeskip, not really as her eye but as a little helper :D

I also kinda headcanon that her current braids are a result of her copying Iris (and possibly Amame) when she was in junior high before swapping to braids later (also attached I think Kizuna's braid and Mizuki's braids are because the other had them and therefore ai3 should have Bibi with some kind of braid I THINK)

For this design specifically, I just wanted to find a middle point between her two designs. Her hair, which used to be in a pony tail, is now messily tied into twin-tails as a way to match her "sister", Iris. Her previously slicked-back half of her hair is pinned back with clips to keep it out of the way :D

I also think it'd be cute if either the jacket is a hand me down from Iris OR Bibi (via Boss). Its still slightly too big, but she clings onto it as she feels some kind of familial familiarity with it lol. For Iris it's easy, she's like her big sister, but for Bibi/Boss, I'd guess it would be hard for her to pin down, only guessing that she really does rely on boss as a kind of mother-figure (when in reality the familiarity runs deeper)

Maybe its just me but I think its clear Mizuki really longs for family and latches onto people she sees as family. You can see it in how she was with Shoko, unable to stop loving her despite the abuse, you can see it in Iris, them treating each other as sisters and Mizuki desperately wanting to ensure her safety despite her being considerably younger, you can see it in Hitomi, where Hitomi is the one she calls on when she needs help recovering from her muteness, you can see it in Date, where despite her constant insults- she clearly loves him and wants to be family with him, and you can see it in Bibi, her immediately joining up with her despite her own lack of memories of their past.

Anyways, is it obvious I really like Mizuki? Yeah... I think about my daughter a lot lol Thank you for reading my ramblings 😌

top 5 favorite characters from each of my games rn (cuz i can)

Jinhsi---prob easy to figure out from my pfp lol. i really loved her during Thaw of Eons, and to date i still consider 1.1 the best main quest story of the 1.X updates. it really felt like a story centered around Jinhsi and her struggles as the Magistrate with Rover as a helping figure rather than their presence taking away from her

Zani---sorry, but im a sucker for salaryman characters 😂 i find her to be incredibly relatable with the whole "im not paid enough for this" and "i need a vacation," def reminds me of Nanami from JJK. i like how incredibly normal she feels, and in a cast of extravegent personalities, she's a breath of fresh air. eagerly awaiting for the day she becomes playable!

Carlotta---i really love how different her personality is compared to everyone else in the story as of right now. very charming, sly, and cunning as part of the mafiosa, she's just incredibly cool! also love her dynamic with Rover (honestly of all the Rover ships, this one genuinely feels like it has the most chemistry + doesn't take away from Carlotta as a character in her own right)

Brant---he's just fun and colorful. he's a theater kid, he gets drunk, he's very dramatic and flamboyant, but he also knows when to get serious and get the job done

Roccia---i love me a deadpan character, and she fits that role perfectly. also really love her dynamic with Brant, they truly feel like the sibling duo we were robbed of from Aalto and Encore (still wish they expanded on Aalto and Encore during the black shores patches, hopefully we'll see them more in the future!)

Lucia---also shouldn't come as a surprise to people lol. i absolutely adore her character arc, her backstory, her dynamic with the Gray Ravens, and her foiled traits with Alpha. she's also just incredibly cool overall and feels like a good character; can't wait until pyroath releases on global! also yes i ship her with my commandant oc, the dynamic just feels natural idk what to tell you

Teddy---honestly didn't expect to love her this much, but again, i love me some deadpan characters. i love how she contrasts Karenina, and yet despite their differences you can still tell her and Karenina are the best of friends. i also absolutely adore her and Karenina's banter, and i really enjoyed seeing Teddy's perspective on the whole thing with Dominick in the story

Vonnegut---he's just a super cool villain, man. calm, collected, in control, he's probably one of the more unnerving villains that we've encountered by far (apart from Cradle). his design is also incredibly sick, i love that gold mask (kuro make him playable pls i bEG--)

Alpha---for reasons similar to Lucia, i am absolutely fascinated by her place in the narrative, esp in relation to Lucia and Luna. she also has a pretty sick character design and i love seeing her in artworks, they always make her look so cool

Watanabe---i put him on here for both playstyle and narrative reasons. i love how he's put at odds with Babylonia for good reason, and yet despite everything they've done to him and to the Forsaken, he doesn't give into hatred like Ballard did and is still willing to reach out. playstyle-wise? epitaph has the highest survivability out of all my built chars rn and is my most invested unit by far 😌 also grappling hook go brrrr

Firefly---girlie's just been through so much, and yet she still decides to be kind and caring, even when she was built for destruction. i admire her tenacity and her determination to keep moving forward even after she lost everything dear to her, and she found a new family in the stelleron hunters. one of my mains, and also the break effect damage is just 🤌

Stelle---idk as far as MCs go, Stelle is one of the most personable. Most gacha MCs sometimes feel like self-inserts, but Stelle feels like her own character. she's such a chaotic trash panda, but at the same time she can also be cold and brutal during battle, and i love it when she switches up like that (also ik caelus could technically be characterized like this, but i chose stelle)

Bronya---idk, i just adored her story in Belobog and her dynamic with Seele. ik she's taken directly from HI3, but i love this version of her: calm, serious, collected, but also under a lot of pressure to become the leader of Belobog. it's a mantle that she still decides to bear even after everything with Cocolia, and honestly i can't help but respect that

Feixiao---im only partway through the quest that involves her, but so far i really love her carefree and laidback attitude, while also retaining that same authoritative demeanor you'd expect of one of the Arbiter-Generals. she's just incredibly cool and as my other main, very fun to play!

Gallagher---he seems like a very chill person, honestly. also has "salaryman" vibes, and he just seems like the type of guy who wants to sit in his bar and make drinks, which i can respect. i will say, i never saw that initial twist coming with him, but it also gave him a lot more depth and dimension. he's also a rather fun unit to play

tldr; my fave characters tend to be people who have been raised to be weapons, who have gone through hell and back again, and yet still find it in themselves to be kind... or salaryman characters lol

And being a civil engineer is fun overall but there are definitely some annoying parts. I think most of my class can agree that bridges lessons are THE GOAT. It was so fkn fun. You would make your own bridge with chopsticks and see if it can withstand a set amount of weight. I was chosen as the person who would stand on the bridge replica so I was kinda scared, but thank god my friends did not let me down and I fell like maybe 4 times? I’m more on the shorter and lighter side so I think it was a pretty fun lesson and everyone got a laugh out of it.

Sometimes you don’t want to break it to an architect that the design won’t simply hold in earthquakes, tornadoes, etc etc bcz they just look so happy showing off their very pretty but not functional designs that I just kinda go:

There is a lot of math!! I had to take up to calculus 4 (considered the highest calculus we have at the college i went to), theoretical math, and then math regarding the actual aircraft and all that.

The only thing I truly dislike about it is when my contracts give me a job with an idea that is so far out there that we have to fix everything

And when we are sent out to test and aircraft and they don't have anything ready (like we let them know we're coming and everything lol). In regards to testing though, it's quite fun. We travel everywhere in the U.S and sometimes out of country too. And when we test and aircraft we're basically approving it for flight so that's always a good thing XD (I think the most exciting aircraft i tested was a WWE plane down in Florida)

Working on Emovere has been very very slow but I am getting a basis 😌🪄✨

This started off as a lil teehee but using Toyhouse is helping me sort them out and actually pull direction while forcing me to work on this, I want to finish this one up, least the background before I get too deep into my other au thing I’m doing

I have basic layouts for characters sorted that are in the base universe and ideas for surrounding topics but for nowwwww I’ll focus on the base universe Dawn and Dusk reside in and the characters.

Hortus- Toriel

Hortus is a gardener of sorts for Nim, before and after she had grown ill. Hortus primarily cares for Dusk and Dawn and behaves as a parental figure for them, she raised them since their physical form took place and up until the end of their world. She loves snail pie as one does and loves to read.

Basileus- Asgore

Basileus is husband to Hortus but with the death of their children their marriage became strained leaving him to more focus on his duties given to him by Nim, to act as a ruler for the people of the world and to aid in matters that were sensitive. He is a gentle soul who cares for his own small garden and loves tea along with biscuits.

Linus- Gaster

Linus was a keeper of sorts, Nim’s personal archive, he kept track of any and everything. Details were important to him. Linus had been the one to give up his own soul to act as a vessel for both Dusk and Dawn hence the skeletal form they take on.

Cleisthenes- Undyne

A practical child to Basileus, Cleisthenes was adopted from a young age and raised well to be truthful and lawful, given her growth and the trust Basileus had placed into her she had been set as a judge under him. She carries her duties out with upmost determination.

I have more but I feel like at the least I would want to write it out in snippets or make small comic pages for them to go into it. I do still need to explore why Nim herself ended up dying, thoughts are bubbling and soon I shall have something for it. I do need to finish up Linus and Cleisthenes’s designs, those will be up on my twitter and Toyhouse when I finish them up.

scary develops a semi-popular poetry blog on tumblr!! taylor and linc help her set it up because they support her and her endeavors and they r so so proud to watch her grow with the validation she receives

scary marlowe had never written love poetry. and then taylor and linc body slammed into her life and now all of a sudden she wants to write about linc and taylor and taylor and linc. she eventually gives them each their own poems (dedicated to them) and a copy of a poem about all three of them (all handwritten, all different) and like. okay. linc and taylor didn’t Really get the poetry thing before (this is their girl how can they not support even when they don’t understand) but now they think they do (they are crying to varying degrees of loudness)

scary and taylor not helping linc rekindle their relationship with his father (bc fuck all dads dad haters club) but instead taking him on fun dates and over to their houses and just. outside and Not with her dads all the time i know linc’s relationship with their fathers is something that has been played off mostly for goofs but they r so. so dependent on their dads it’s a little. worrying (or maybe we all just have different relationships with our parents but as a coddled kid i KNOW what over dependency on ur parents looks like)

Customs are where you give me very little description, usually just some design stipulations and leave the rest to me to figure out what they’ll look like! I.e. The man in the teal and orange was simply based on orange glazed terracotta and the rest was left up to me 😌 (You can say more but it’s a lot of the artists creative liberties and the more power I have, the more fun and interesting the design may come out)

Otherwise I think it’s all pretty self explanatory! It’s a relatively simple process and I’m happy to help as much as I need 😌

I have many, MANY thoughts about Lilia, and while some of those are highly speculative, Lilia himself is still a very interesting character just based on the concrete, canon information we have on him.

Firstly, I have to say that I love his design. I admit that it was initially off-putting because his haircut doesn’t look anything like that of the other characters in the cast, but it was somehow still very fitting in spite of that. It’s oddly a hot mess and yet fashionable at the same time 😅 though maybe I just think it’s fashionable because dark hair with hot pink/magenta streaks reminds me of Draculaura, a vampire girl in a fashion doll line that I really enjoy. I also like how Lilia wears his jacket hanging off of his shoulders and the unique design of his school uniform pants; it helps him stand out in the overall cast and gives him a mysterious, almost antique, aura.

Where Lilia really shines is when he’s interacting with others. Being that he is actually considerably older than everyone, he offers a lot of life experience and wisdom that the others don’t have, and it’s amazingly entertaining seeing how he bounces off of his peers because of that. I particularly love when he and Trey are researching for their Magic History project and Lilia keeps elaborating on things he couldn’t possibly have known unless he lived through them, thus leaving Trey confused as to how he is so knowledgeable. The best part about these interactions is that Lilia never flaunts his wisdom or uses it to elevate himself to a more powerful or privileged position than the other students. He still treats others as his equals and friends, making online friends with Idia and chilling with the Light Music Club crew like a normal high school boy would—but he’s not afraid to call people out when he sees them acting up. I especially loved Lilia in episode 2 when he straight up told Leona that he was being immature and that a collar suited him better than a crown. Lilia’s out here spitting cold, hard FACTS 😌

Lilia is described to us as someone who is well-respected in the Briar Valley due to his record as a successful warrior. He’s also said to be extremely frightful in his true form, often scaring the children in his home country around Halloween season. I find these aspects of Lilia very intriguing, and I hope that episode 7 touches upon this more (specifically his history as a veteran). It isn’t really something that has been often acknowledged in the fandom, but I think that since Lilia is a veteran, there’s a lot of deep topics to explore through his character. For example, a considerable amount of people that emerge from war do so with survivor’s guilt and PTSD, and I’m wondering if Lilia is or has experienced something similar as a result? Or does it not faze him because of how long-lived he is? Does he worry about his loved ones and country being exposed to yet another war? It’d be really interesting to see Lilia from these angles.

Lilia is also a very nuanced guardian figure. I always hear people calling Lilia the “best dad” in TWST (to the point where being a good dad is ALL the fandom ever defines Lilia as), but I believe this does a huge disservice to his character. Lilia is NOT “Silver’s dad”, Lilia is LILIA, and he should not be solely characterized by his relationship to his child. Lilia is also NOT really definitively the “best dad”, he’s just the one that immediately comes to mind because we see the most of him out of all the dads mentioned in Twisted Wonderland.

He’s not a bad parent, but he’s certainly not as perfect as many people make him out to be. Yes, Lilia is a good guardian in that he adopted Silver and raised him as though Silver were his very own flesh and blood, but that doesn’t mean Lilia has NEVER made missteps in parenting or that he has NEVER done or said anything to hurt Silver or anyone else, because Lilia definitely has. He was callous in the way he told Silver they weren’t related. He endangered his classmates because he was far too immersed in pulling off a scary prank. He left Silver unattended to, sometimes for weeks at a time. He made fun of other people (along with Ace, whom people seem to universally agree is an asshole) when they were trying their darnest, then plays victim when he gets yelled at for it/doesn’t take the situation seriously when Jack implies their pride has been hurt by his words. Lilia has done a lot wrong, and I while don’t expect him to be perfect (I think being imperfect only adds to his complexity), but I don’t like seeing the focus on his positives, as it ignores a lot of his character. What Lilia truly has going for him is not that he is a “perfect” parent, but that he is a good balance of easygoing yet stern compared to other guardian characters (Jamil is overbearing, Trey is generally way too lax, Jade is an enabler when the situation proves to be amusing, etc.), and he seems to be willing to change or to be better for others.

It might feel like a weird comparison to make, but I honestly feel like a “Lilia” in the Twisted Wonderland fandom. That doesn’t mean I’m hundreds of years old like Lilia is, but I am definitely “old” in terms of “fandom” years, as I was following TWST since the concept was initially teased. Funnily enough, I have been told before that it’s difficult to pinpoint my age based on how I act, since I can be both extremes. I also frequently get feedback telling me that what I say gives new perspectives and that people appreciate my wisdom (analyses, theories, etc.) which is really flattering and makes me sound like some revered ancestor or something 🥺 Mm… It feels like I usually have to be the “adult in the room” when the fandom is on fire or reacting very negatively and emotionally to TWST news. Like Lilia, I’m here to have fun, but I also know when to step in, offer advice, and remind others to calm down and look at a situation more rationally (ie like Lilia calming Sebek down when he freaks out over Malleus being missing).

ty for the blessing charlie 😌💖 and now you got my lazy ass to design Smudger!! I remember reading a headcanon about Smudger being a nickname for Stanley (RWS) because they're essentially the same character, but don't remember who said it and I thank them for that one as I will use it ✨

About Smudger, practically his whole biography--very long:

RWS described him as American, so Mr. Burr is too :]

Smudger spent a couple years stationed in France, working the trench railways during the later years of the war at 26 y/o.

While there he encountered a little French girl named Sylvie (8 y/o) beside the tracks, her parents nowhere in sight. He endeavoured to take care of her as much as he could; Smudger would share his food with her, and she travelled in his engine cab with him so she wasn't wandering alone in the dark. Smudger, with the help of some friends, made a little makeshift bunker for Sylvie to stay in whenever he couldn't bring her around and always dropped off little toys or stationery he found for her.

When he had to go back to America, Smudger brought her to a small orphanage. Conveniently her parents were there searching for her, so Smudger gave them his number and address, requesting weekly updates by phone or letter on who was essentially his adopted daughter at this point; they oblige, grateful to the American that took care of their child.

Two years later he learns that Sylvie died of osteosarcoma at 10 y/o. Smudger fell into a deep depression, but under the advice of his old war friends he and his engine were approved to be moved to Sodor working on the narrow gauge railway there, hoping for a quieter life to ease his tension.

His train often derailed--firstly because his engine hadn't been re-gauged for the Mid Sodor Railway, then it was a toss-up between the engine just not co-operating with the tracks or Smudger being careless with his driving. Mainly due to being preoccupied by memories of Sylvie. He'd snap at other workers while in this state; he was very irritable.

While the Manager was understanding of his mental state, he had to fire Smudger (36 y/o) for the good of the Railway. Smudger accepted this and, figuring he was too out of it to continue driving his engine, approved for it to be stripped down and used as scrap metal and parts for the Railway's pumping mechanism.

He retired from railway work entirely for 7 years, living in the quiet comforts of Sodor. At 43 y/o he felt he had recovered from his depression enough to work again, and became a fireman for Duncan (Smudger simply loves narrow gauge engines).

First impression:

Loved her character design. Literally one of the most beautiful female GA characters I'd ever seen. Very unique facial features, mesmerising hair! 😘👌 however, I did worry a little that her inability to speak would be a running joke because *harr harr women talk too much*

Impression now:

While said joke certainly does appear, thankfully it's only a handful of times and not by the main cast (save Shore). As for Marina herself, absolutely love her. She clearly values her friends dearly even if they're romantic rivals. And though she's the Damsel in Distress on several occasions, she is shown to be brave - in ep 1 she helps Troy and Phones escape completely unprovoked, and she goes back to Titan to save Troy. Girl has some resolve 💪

Favourite moment:

There's a lot, but I think I have to give it to Sea of Oil when she realises Atlanta has been kidnapped. When I first watched it, I honestly thought they'd go down the route of Marina not telling anyone so she could have Troy to herself (sorry for being so cynical) and at the end when all is well, the cast would laugh and make a joke about women being feral when they're in love etc.

Particularly as earlier on, Troy acknowledged that he was very lucky man to have Atlanta.

Anyway, that didn't happen at all. Marina raises the alarm right away - by going straight to Troy, who she knows Atlanta is incredibly important to.

Something about that moment made me respect her a whole lot more.

Idea for a story:

Oh lots, including a romantic slow burn. But I'd love to write a fic in which she braves land travel for some important reason, and the consequences it could have on her. Also, her figuring out a train station or airport would be just 😔😔

Don't worry, a responsible adult like Atlanta would go with her

Unpopular opinion:

I really can't get on board with the backstory of a curse causing Marina's muteness. It's from an audio story but it completely contradicts the show itself. If Marina is cursed whereby she utters one word and someone dies, then why is she so eager to learn to speak in Countdown?

Favourite relationship:

Phones and Marina hands down, oh my goodness. When she links arms with him at the end of Treasure Down Below, that got me interested. But when he comforts her during Man From the Navy, I think that was The Moment I boarded that ship. He seems to have a real knack for working out what she's trying to say and is acutely aware of her, what she might be feeling etc. And of course, Marina will break the rules to help him

Favourite headcanon:

A personal headcanon - Marina can't read our alphabet, or at least not initially. I think the Pacifican language must be broadly the same as English (for...some reason) but the alphabet isn't. This provides a handy explanation as to why she doesn't just write what she wants to say. Obviously, she must learn to read it at some point because she is able to read a note in The Lighthouse Dwellers.

Plus, all those times where she's seen reading books/magazines - she's learning slowly, or looking at the pictures 😌

Hmm as far as like, what to do for after care, you should really ask your tattoo artist. it all depends on what you actually get, where it is, etc. They can walk you through that whole process a lot better than I can.

But as far as like...products, I like to use this:

You can get a small or large jar on amazon. I think this one cost like $12? And it's more than enough product for me since my tats are all pretty small. I like this one and it works well for me, but there are a ton of different kinds and brands to choose from. If you're going to a professional artist they probably have good recommendations for things to use too.

Whatever you decide to try, always do a spot test somewhere else on your body first to make sure you dont get a reaction from it...thats the last thing you want on a new tattoo when the skin is trying to heal.

Other than that...just try to keep the area clean, moisturized, and give it air and time to heal. Your artist can give you more specifics and in my experience, they're always willing to answer any questions you have, no matter how silly it seems. Especially if it's your first ever tattoo...don't be afraid to ask any question you have. OH and ESPECIALLY don't be afraid to tell them if there's something you want to change about the design, or the placement BEFORE they get started. If anything doesn't feel right about it, just say so, and generally they can help you figure out how to fix it.

Like in my case, we had to erase the guide from my foot and make a new one because i didn't like where she initially placed it. But she was nice about it, and we just tried again until I was happy with it. If it's something that's gonna be on your body forever, then you want to be 100% positive about what and where it is. I always go in with an exact image of what I want and that usually helps too.

Anyway, getting tattoos is fucking awesome, I love that for you and I hope it goes well!!! Have fun😘

i think i speak for most enfps when i say that we honestly believe it’s the thought that counts :) like ik it seems cliche and stupid but if someone gave me a rock and said it reminded me of them, i’d die of happiness 😂

some things i think give off enfp vibes are late night conversations-bonus points if you’re screaming to your fave music in the car, cute picnics-bonus points if it’s either like super weird like at some weird location OR if it’s like super cheesy/cliche and just like the movies, just giving random things to them like the rock from above 😂, also like random text messages like good morning/night texts, sending memes/vids/posts that remind you of them (when ppl do this, it makes my heart soar bc it makes me so so so happy), etc 😌

it really depends on each person, i have a non existent love life BUT i have a lot of friends and i think these go for friends too tbh 😂

my best advice would just be too bring a lil adventure in to their lives-doesn’t have to be big but do some thing unexpectedly like just random messages, random gifts (not like an expensive bag-which i wouldn’t hate but i’m more likely to cherish a twig), random dates/meetups/surprise visits, and also try to make em laugh ;)

also we are super impulsive and spontaneous and reckless if you haven’t figured out, but we don’t mind compromising if that makes you uncomfortable but if there are too many lists and rules and like a strict schedule, we may get slightly stressed 🥲

oh also let them rant and add on to their weird theories and random conversation topics 😂 try not to stay silent or like discourage them bc some ideas may be completely over the top ridiculous with no realistic steps to reach the goal but it’s like it makes me sad when someone invalidates/discourages it :( when someone pitches in with a ridiculous addition, it makes me really happy and it’s a great way to woo an enfp ;) like that’s that’s the simplest way to their heart 😂

ex) if they create an “imaginary” theme park design and tell you all about it...if you want to woo them, pitch in an idea for like a ride or that you could add a zoo...try to stay away from asking like “how” or “that’s ridiculous” or “you need steps to get there” or “that’s never gonna actually happen”
