As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

I think I'm getting a Epson V600 perfection scanner, so I can actually digitize my film at home!!

Going to my local print lab and paying to scan it myself, wasn't a financially realistic option.

$15 for 2 1/2 hours to scan not even a full roll of 35mm at the quality that I want- by the time I scan even half of what I want to scan, I'm paying around $800 to get that done. It's not a financially feasible option. But I can buy a used nice scanner for under half the price of that- and have it last me until I upgrade.

MUCH better decision. Gosh damn
