currently thinking about how tommy said that ctommy waking up underwater every day in exile was a metaphor for his mental health, and that the further and further out to sea he got and the further he was sinking the more deteriorated he became and eventually he would end up unable to resurface had they not done something about cdream.

currently thinking about how if ctommy couldn't resurface, he'd drown in his own thoughts, believing his friends and family all hated him. nobody would see the kid they once knew in him anymore. maybe he'd never be seen again at all.

currently thinking about how ctommy saw one anxious, forgetful enderman lad, roped him into a crime, and took 100% of the fall when they didn't get away with it. ctommy could have ignored the situation. he didnt have to go to ctubbo and say "it was just me, man". as cranboo said, he could have said it was all him. there was evidence it was him.

but i think that after everything, ctommy would still be unable to live with himself if it'd been cranboo in exile instead of him. on the surface, he's a child. a soldier and a veteran and a criminal, yes, but still a child.

but beneath that, he's learnt. he's decided he'd rather throw himself into trouble than let his friends go through any amount of suffering.

i think that if cranboo were to ask, "why did you do that?" ctommy would sigh, that familiar shaky sigh we all know, and he'd speak quietly in reply, "i know what some of those bastards are capable of. i'd rather go through all that than have you do it for me. plus, it wasn't your fault."

AvA VI e3 seems to imply that sticks (at least created sticks) can be "brought back to life" by simply redrawing them and giving the new symbol the same name.

What if it doesn't, though? -- That is, what if the new symbol really isn't the same stick it was before. Maybe it's an echo of that stick figure, sure, and what we see of victim's behaviour (or, really, the behaviour of tens and maybe hundreds of victims) each new stick figure seems to retain some sort of 'muscle memory' of its previous incarnations --

Okay first of all, where are they???? Obviously in a dream, which Lunar says "doesn't feel normal", which is already weird, but they're in a location Lunar's never been in before. Probably not important I'm just curious, like, is it just some random place conjured up by Lunar's subconscious or does Res have him in a specific location for a reason???

Res works for Cetus apparently.

Lunar sees Res for the first time and goes "You don't have a face" and Res goes "Oh, I can assure you, I do." I'm sorry???????????

This is off topic, but these episodes stress me the fuck out. Like, the writing isn't always the best and I've seen people leave the fandom over some of the decisions the writers make. Now, I don't really care about how bad the writing is I'm gonna watch it anyways, but I genuinely get stressed out over the lore, it is an issue. I worry about it on a day to day basis, I think I'm starting to get WAY too attached to these characters.

Res looks so much like Nebula, I mentioned it in a separate post but like seriously, it's not even funny how similar they look. They could be twins, at least in my eyes idk if y'all see it too. Also, I love Nebula and I would NEVER accuse her of such heinous crimes, but the astrals have basically stripped her of her rights and are making her work constantly with almost no breaks and no pay, and from what we've seen Taurus specifically treats her pretty awful, and Res did mention hating Taurus and Leo, so... I mean I wouldn't be surprised if Res and Nebula were the same person.

Res has met Castor and Pollux at some point and thinks that they're "entertaining" so I don't know what the fuck that means but I'm scared-

Res didn't want Lunar there??? Lunar says "I shouldn't be here," and Res goes "You shouldn't be, this was a very private meeting," so Lunar can just get dragged into antimatter shenanigans with no say in the matter randomly????? Res didn't even intend for this to happen???????

The fact that Res doesn't care about Lunar knowing is scary. Res doesn't try to hurt Lunar or kill him or get him not to tell anyone, they just don't care. Which is worrying, because Lunar could tell the astrals, and the fact that Res doesn't care about that means that they're already far enough into this plan that the astrals knowing about it will hardly be a setback.

I was thinking, maybe Res stands for Residual or Residue. Because, they said they're made out of dark star power, but they AREN'T a witherstorm, so maybe they're residual leftover dark star power.

THEIR VOICE EVEN SOUNDS LIKE A CORRUPTED NEBULA, am I going crazy here??? Their voices even sound similar, except Nebula's is much smoother obviously, but they both speak the same way, y'know? Res being Nebula could explain their inside knowledge about the astrals. I mean, obviously they could just figure stuff out on their own or through Cetus, I'm assuming dark star power entities can probably spy on people pretty well, but it would explain why they already know Lunar and that Taurus is coming to Earth, I'm just saying...

Gemini said that astrals can die, but they usually come back because they're stars and stars will just supernova and reform. Unless I missed something, this is the first time that's been mentioned. I wonder who it is. How do you turn positive star power into negative star power? Gemini said that when star power is harnessed, negative star power is the result. Lunar does not harness star power, he is basically an astral now which means he's MADE of it. Him using it won't produce any negative star power, which means Res has a way to convert pure, unharnessed star power into negative star power. Interesting. If I didn't have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to my hyperfixations, maybe I could tell you have that would work with stars and dark matter in real life, but I forgot so sorry :D

How many negative star power entities are there??? Res says Lunar will "become one of us". So far there are at least 2, Res and Cetus, but there HAS to be more than that. C'mon. There has to be. The astrals are also interesting, how many of them are there? Obviously there's the main 12, based on the zodiac constellations, but are there more based on other constellations? Are the "Astrals" just what the main 12 are called and any others are considered lesser than them? And then for the dark matter ones, are there 12 to act as dark zodiacs? Or are the less, or worse, are there MORE?

I wonder if Gemini made Taurus and Leo sound more scary as a way to get Lunar to behave himself. All they said was "Taurus and Leo destroy planets", but according to Res, they really don't. They only put planets out of their misery once they've been infected and already basically destroyed.

I wonder if Res did anything to Lunar while he was asleep? They say "you need to wake up" and then Lunar falls asleep in the dream only to wake up in real life, but I wonder if they could've done something to him in that time that he doesn't realize?

It's kinda interesting that Lunar's first thought was to go to Monty rather than Gemini or Moon or waiting for Taurus to show up. I actually have kinda a sweet reason why, more of a headcanon than a theory though. Whenever i have nightmares, my brain kinda goes back in time for a little while, and instead of calling someone I actually trust like one of my friends or my partner, my first thought is to go to my mom. Now, i don't talk to my mom anymore because she sucks, but I really liked her as a kid and when I have bad dreams I forget about all the people i have in my life now and wanna go back to her. And Monty and Lunar used to be so close, obviously Monty knows a lot about negative star power so they're a logical option of who to get help from, but i also think it would be really sweet if Lunar goes through the same thing and that's why they want to go to Monty first, because they're almost like a parental figure to him.

Hello! I really enjoy your DM-posts! Could I ask you how you feel about DM in the show going forward? Because, honestly I’m a bit worried. Would love to hear your thoughts on it!

So what unsettles me a bit about it is the fact that they already turned Daniel into a vampire, especially in combination with the decision to never(!) show the turning. I’m a huge fan of this interpretation of Daniel and Armand thus far, but them turning Daniel already has made me a bit worried about where they are going with it - and if it’s a focus at all. Cause most of the stuff from the DM chapter is kinda un-adoptable now. There won’t be a human-vampire relationship, no Daniel teaching Armand about the human world and no fights about immortality. Even their intense power imbalance, which is an essential part of the chase, is kinda gone now, even though obviously Armand is still a lot stronger. I’m actually fine with most of this, bit sad about the loss of a human-vampire romance ngl. The only thing is I wonder how they are actually going to do the romance? Cause I gotta be real, I would hate a cliche hate-love relationship where’s it’s all about sexual tension. It’s just very shallow. I also don’t want Daniel to be reduced to being an “emotional-service-vampire” to Armand by chasing after him and being fascinated by him. Obviously it’s very romantic for Armand to have someone be obsessed with him for a change, and I’m not totally against such a scenario - but I just really don’t want the complexity of Daniel’s character be reduced to serve such a plot. Daniel definitely hates Armand at the end of the series, understandably so given the literal torture and the psychological trauma he went through. I felt annoyed that this was so quickly put aside in s2e5 and especially s2e6 and it just makes me worry it will be even less of a thing next season. Or it will be used in a shallow way to have Daniel express hatred of Armand to serve a shallow hate-attraction dynamic. There should be some actual romance, no? I can get behind an enemies-to-lovers thing, but it needs to be well-developed and have depth. I’m just not sure we will get that? Hopefully I’m being too pessimistic. I just feel a bit like Daniel’s character was at times reduced as to make him almost one-dimensional to serve the greater plot last series (in the aforementioned instance in particular). Daniel is a secondary character, so not being a main focus is understandable but reductive character writing is always painful to see. However, it all comes down to how he’s written next series. So hopefully I’ll be proven wrong here.

Rolin’s comments making it sounds as Armand turning Daniel it’s “the” DM thing, no matter the context - and that we’ve already “had two seasons of DM”, really made me sad and annoyed. Cause he can’t be serious! We haven’t gotten anything(!) yet. Even most of the looks between Armand and Daniel can simply be interpreted as Armand looking at Daniel with disdain as he tries to stop him from revealing the truth, and Daniel’s looks can easily be interpreted as a motivated journalist being intrigued by a mystery. I understand why people read their interactions as attraction, I’m not saying that’s wrong - my point is just that we haven’t even gotten anything real and substantial or any actual crumbs yet. Which is fine, if we get something real at some point but Rolin’s comments just worries me in this regard. Please tell me I’m overly worried? Also the mere fact that Armand turns Daniel is not DM, and since it was offscreen we actually didn’t even get that. Also what does this mean in how invested the writers are in this dynamic? I think that is what worries me the most. I understand skipping it in s2, but it’s been stated that we’ll never see it.

I just have lost a lot of faith in the writers here, even though I loved a lot of other stuff in the series. Could I ask you how you think DM is going to develop in series3 and/or 4? And separately, what is some stuff you would like to see? Sorry for the somewhat downer ask, I just really like your blog and reading your thoughts - so I wqs curious about your take on the situation. Thank you!

as of now i have somehow learned to differentiate between book!dm and show!dm and as a result of that i am basically ready for anything. it feels like this great weight has been lifted off my shoulders ever since i stopped agonizing over whether past!dm happened or not. because honestly? i am convinced that they can and will hit some of the major emotional book beats even without their past romantic relationship

as for rolin's "seasons and seasons of devil's minion" comment my interpretation has always been that all of that -- all of their interactions -- are a part of the bigger picture and will lead to something. do you remember rolin's sdcc 2022 answer to a fan who asked about armand and daniel's relationship? he said: if that relationship is important to you, don't worry. and tbh i have always loved that choice of words. yes it is important. and i'm sure they are all aware. it's not the main romantic relationship of the series and we have to remember that the show is above all louis's story. but yeah. the dm relationship is important to armand, it is important to daniel, and it is important to us as fans.

i think you're incredibly valid to be upset about the lack of human/immortal dynamic if we don't get past!dm but as i've mentioned the story can hit some of the other equally important beats. mainly acceptance. because armand and daniel above all simply fit together. they are freak4freak. they are equally matched. they see each other for who they are. and if the show plays their cards right their romance can be pretty epic. i think that's actually what is most important to me. i really need for them to find in each other someone & something they can't find in anyone else. love and acceptance

I Cannot Express How Much I Hate The Minecraft Movie Trailer.

First things first; who told them the nether portal was blue. Because I will find you. It's never NOT been purple.

Portal aside, the graphics are fucking SHIT.

I would've ABSOLUTELY preferred something fully animated over that crap.

Instead of putting actual effort into it, they made the sheep and the llama look stupid and the whole rest of the world just looks weird.

Why, on god's green earth, is JACK BLACK playing STEVE??? The reason he worked in The Mario Movie is because THAT WAS FULLY ANIMATED. I'm sorry, I love the guy. I do. But he's not good for Steve.

The famous names on your cast aren't the reason people are watching your movie. I can promise if you had lesser known actors playing more interesting characters in a more lovingly-made movie, it'd be about 50x better.

Also, if I may, we know NOTHING about the plot. We knew stuff about Mario, we knew stuff about FNaF, and we knew stuff about Barbie.

All we know is 3 jokes in the community that they've taken at surface-level and used that.

Forgive me if what I'm about to say makes no sense, I'm very emotional about how shitty this movie looks. But I believe that this whole film is gonna be full of awful, simple, overused jokes. I think it'll be the "...iiit's right behind me, isn't it? 😬" type of humor, and not a worthwhile plot.

Minecraft is about existence, and being, and creating your own world - Taking the earth from beneath your feet and making a home, your own place to belong. Carving out your place in a world that goes on forever.

I wish I believed in this movie; I wish it wasn't a cheap cash grab, and was instead a permanent immortalization of the game that has been such a great part of my life. I wish that instead of Jack Black, all the creators that helped to make this game and community famous were included and featured and honored. I was even hoping that maybe, for just a second, we might get a shot of a pig in a crown for Technoblade.

But if THAT is what the movie is going to be, if THAT is how they want this community and game to be remembered- I think I'm happy they're probably not going to do that.

A stupid theory(more of a thought) I have for Invader Zim is that Dib in the in wrong field. More specifically, the reason the Swollen Eye doesn’t believe Zim is an alien is because that’s not what they do. Dib wants to be a PARANORMAL investigator, so the Swollen Eye is probably for PARANORMAL investigations. NOT Ufology or even Cryptozoology which is for Aliens and other creatures like Bigfoot. Paranormal investigations are for ghosts, but Dib looks for things like Bigfoot or Wafflesquatch and ALIENS. Poor Dibs in the wrong field with the wrong people who don’t care about Aliens because their looking for Ghosts. Even Gaz mentions it the comics.
