Tonight my insomnia decided I should try to find the significance behind Rez and Kerian’s names.

I mean, they’re star beings, they have to have some kinda spacial or mythology reference like the rest of them, right?

Theres none. Absolutely none. Let me rant my findings

Literally all I could find on Rez is that it’s slang for “reservation” like I didn’t already know that

Rez-Star is also the name of an old rock magazine so that was a dead end

Kerian’s name is apparently Irish for “dark” or “dark haired one” and is apparently more popular with girls and also being the name of a corn star (unfortunately the first result when googling Kerian Star)

Then I said “Oh maybe there’s a snake/worm and a bird constellation their name is similar to!”

Nope. Unless of course you stretch Serpens and Corvus

“Oh, maybe they’re based on stars in Cetus, like how Castor and Pollux are not only the names of their greek counterparts but the names of two of the stars in Gemini! Cetus is their master after all!”

Only a select few of Cetus’ stars aren’t named something Ceti

Though I did discover that while Cetus is more commonly depicted as a sea monster, it’s also depicted as a whale.
