On tumblr when you post you’re just playing Russian roulette with your post getting attention, but it’ll probably get ignored.

On Reddit any comment you make outside of some very niche community will immediately have someone downvoting you and calling you like, three different insults. Then they will wonder why you only log in every couple months. Like, it’s a very helpful website when you have a question for another community you’re in, but you’ll also get someone being immediately hostile when you make an innocuous post on a garden subreddit 😑

At least on tumblr people have to actually seek out your random ass text posts and go out of their way to start shit, and you don’t have the up and down vote system that feels like playing with my self confidence and worth issues.

Both websites are toxic part of the time (what social media isn’t?) and both are actually more useful for weird people, but holy shit does Reddit feel more aggressive about shit. Maybe it’s just the devil you know, but at least on this mess of a website half your hate will be for the most random shit and misunderstandings that people have to seek out finding if your blog is a normal size. Reddit is either posting on a dead sub or getting immediately thrown to the, well, sharks and wolves aren’t actually super aggressive towards humans under normal circumstances, so something else that could tear you apart instantly for just existing in the same space as them.

Just had a very interesting Google experience.

The search term was "most rewarding plants to grow". The reason I searched is because I'm watching my orchid, Frank, like a fucking hawk at the moment because my parents finally brought him down and he's been a bit under the weather since the move, so I've done a bit of research and a repot and he seems to be doing better, but it's slow going. So I was thinking I wonder if there's a quick-growing plant that's really rewarding to watch grow in an almost day-to-day sense, cuz that would be fun.

Every. Singe. Search result on the front page was for "most profitable plants to grow".

And I'm like, NO. That's not what I mean! I mean if I want to grow a plant, and see it grow, and watch it's progress, what's the quickest, most rewarding way to do that?!

And sure I'll admit that a lot of plants you can see progress week-to-week (I can see it with Frank) and so I could've phrased the search better, but I still think it's revealing that rewarding was immediately taken to mean profitable.

So yeah. This is me railing against capitalism and the downfall of the internet, etc etc etc.

- It probably doesn't come through in English since it isn't my native language, but when it comes to speaking Finnish irl, I've been told I have a large vocabulary and I'm good at explaining things. I try to remember that whenever I'm feeling like an idiot.

- I have pretty good skin, I think. It's not too dry or oily and I don't get pimples often. I started using moisturizer regularly for the first time last winter and it's really nice how soft and smooth everything feels now.

- I'm reasonably good with houseplants. My personal favorite is my sago palm, but I also have accumulated lot of prayer plants and various euphorbias. I love cacti but never seem to be able to keep them alive for long, unfortunately.

- Apart from my face blindness and poor sense of direction, I have above average visual memory, or at least I strongly suspect that to be the case. It's fun. And useful.

- I've developed a liking for long, aimless walks and I think that's a positive thing. I've always been a homebody indoor person type of guy and I'm okay with that, but it's still good for you to get some fresh air and casual, no pressure exercise every once in a while. Soon it'll be winter again though and I'm not going to go outside for any longer than I have to when it's -20°C for weeks on end, but right now I'm enjoying wandering around more than I thought I would.

I know, I think that's most people. Humans tend to intuit some kind of extraphysical existence, the same way we intuit a flat earth and free will and a sun that moves across the sky - if we don't investigate all this and learn any different. I don't personally see how such a phenomenon is possible when we know that consciousness and indeed everything we are is produced by our brain. When the brain dies, we go black like the light on my ceiling fan when I flick the power switch off. We don't ask where the light went. It's just gone. Wolf's not still flailing around somewhere trying to avoid flung poop from an angry monkey when I end sekiro.exe.

I do understand the intuition though. When my dog died and I was carrying her out to the car to go to the doggie crematorium, her body was so shockingly pliant, heavy, and suddenly empty. It was like she'd left it and gone somewhere else. She didn't go with her body out to the car at all, she was just laying in my room behind my desk chair, still. It felt like that for weeks.

A lot of Unsounded's cosmology is the result of me wondering what the consequences would be if there really was extraphysical conscious existence. Like, there are so many versions of you. Which one would be eternal? Would your consciousness and memories at the time of death lift off you in one intact blob, or would everything break apart into all the selves you were? Your five year old self has no idea who your fifty year old self is, and vice versa, more or less. I don't see how they could stay together. If your five year old self simply doesn't get to be immortal like your death self, what about if you die with terrible dementia or a brain injury, would that just be you forever? Or does it roll back to a previous version? Where is that previous version coming from? Are there back-ups? So your child selves DO persist? What about all your trauma? Do you have to remember it all forever? Maybe you have no memories at all and are just an empty consciousness. Is there much satisfaction in being the equivalent of a disembodied houseplant for all eternity? Can you make new memories without a brain? How would you do anything without it? Or eyes or any senses?! AAAA!

Of course the simplest answer to all this is there's no reason to think it's a concern, the whole concept is just something we intuit incorrectly. Like the inak, I'm pretty cool with that. Because the alternative is really scary to think about.

Notes: This was actually my irl first date with Virgil. And this isn’t actually how she confessed her feelings in the sander sides lore, that’s more of a slow burn, but this would be our first date if he was real instead of if I was fictional:) Also shoutout to my bestie @hearts4fiction for being in this. The lights dimmed in the magnificent stage until the auditorium went dark. The only thing visible to Alyna was the slight outline of Virgil’s body next to her and the shine of his coffee colored iris. Even as just a slight shadow, he was still the most beautiful being she’s ever seen. His eyes seemed to catch hers, Virgil’s eyes darting out of her gaze in an instant. Her arm slowly crept up the chairs side, resting her hand gently on top of his.

But first we got to tell how we got to this point. It starts with a terrified side pacing back and forth in her room. Any sounds Alyna heard was drowned out by the sound of her heart thudding against her ribcage. One of her best friends, Star, was observing, and by observing meaning making sure she doesn’t do anything stupid. “I dunno, Star. What if I messed up? I mean, he means so much to me and this might ruin everything! I don’t even know if he likes girls!”

Her hands instinctively flap in the air, she had to move something or her body would have to deal with all the pent up stress

“Man, it’s not that bad.”

Star replies, picking at his nails “He probably just became a flustered mess when you gave him that mushy note. I think he’s still tryna process it right now. Where are you guys going if he says yes?” Alyna fidgets with her hair, her head blank but her body feeling as if her insides were rearranged “Well Sweeney Todd is coming to us so I thought I’d get tickets to it and see it with him. Oh Star, do you HAVE to go on your date while I’m here suffering?!” He scoffs and lets out a soft chuckle “You know I can’t do that. I promised you I’d be here until it was time, didn’t I?” Star looks up at the clock. It was 5:20, only ten more minutes before he had to leave. Time seemed to crawl on. Alyna did everything to calm her nerves but nothing was working and there still wasn’t a response form Virgil. Maybe he would ignore her, pretend that this never happened, but that would hurt more than if he flat out rejected her. Finally, faint footsteps climbed up the stairs, and on instinct, Alyna’s body slipped under her bed. The suspense on what he was saying was unbearably heavy. 

But as the door creaked open, it dawned on her that isn’t wasn’t her lover at the door, but Stars.

“There you are.” Logan calls, pushing up his specs a slight bit. “I was looking for you everywhere! And-why is she under the bed?” Alyna leans on her arm, looking up at him casually as if she wasn’t scared out of her mind “Hey, Lo.” He scoffed, this wasn’t the weirdest thing he’s seen so he decides not to question it “Anyways, are you ready, babe?” Star nods, a wide grin on his face “Of course, my love.” He looks back at Alyna, the fear hidden in her eyes was like a lion trying to hide beneath a houseplant. Attempted, yet never effective. “I’m sorry I couldn’t stay for longer, I bet he’ll respond, just give him some time.” A dawn of realization washes over Logan’s facial expressions “Oh, it almost slipped my mind.” He reached into his pocket, pulling out a slip of paper out of his pocket. “Virgil wanted me to give this to you, Alyna.”

Adrenaline spiked her muscles at she quickly took it, examining the folded up paper in awe “Well we better get going, Farewell.” Logan and Star walk, their arms linked together. Alyna sees Star give her an approving nod before the pair was out of sight. 

Alyna didn’t want to open it, whatever was in here, it would send her through a storm of emotions. She jerks her head away from the paper as she slowly unfolds it, smoothing out the creases in it. The content of the note were now visible, but her eyes were snapped shut, afraid of what could lie inside this seemingly harmless sheet of paper. She probably had to open it before the sweat beading from her palms gets to the paper first. Slowly, her eyes narrow open scanning the paper. The writing was make in black ink and the handwriting was a little sloppy, but readable. To her surprise, there was only one word on that paper

“Sure.”

That sounded like him. She poured all of her feeling and heart into that letter and he responds with a simple word, classic Virgil. It took a second for her to realize, but that was a yes. She pacing faster around her room, bouncing against the walls happily. He liked her? The thought was almost hard to believe. That one word was all she could think about at dinner, all she could think about while getting ready for bed, and all she could dream about when she fell asleep.

And now, like the world had flashed by, she was standing awkwardly at the entrance of the auditorium, wearing a fuzzy orange cardigan over her regular tank top with long, formal pants instead of her shorts. She was holding a small, purple, hyacinth in her hand. She fidgeted with the delicate petals, making sure none of them break. She wondering if Virgil was lying, if this was just to give her false confidence. All of those thoughts were completely shattered when she felt a shadow looming over her.

She looked up to see him. He was wearing a black leather jacket and a skirt that complemented his eyeshadow. “Oh! Virgil! You look…” she took a second to process how he looked “Absolutely beautiful…” His eyes darted from hers “That’s an overstatement! but….you look nice too…” she pulled on the collar of her tank top nervously and handing him the flower “For me?” He said, raising an eyebrow “You got good taste. Thanks.” He smirked, the same smirk that could make her pass out then and there “Let’s go in, idiot. Don’t want to be late for the show.” “Y-yea, cmon..”

The cool breeze from inside blew against them as they waited in line to get in. She had a million questions to ask him, but she didn’t have the voice to say them “Thank you for coming with me. I didn’t think you said yes.” She muttered out. Virgil turned to her, a softer look in his eyes. “Don’t mention it. I’m glad you asked me.” Their hands were only a few centimeters from touching and she had to fight the overwhelming urge to just take it as her own. But she couldn’t, her nerves left her movements frozen.

The two sat down in there seats. His hand resting on the armrest was just too irresistible. She couldn’t help glancing back at it from time to time, until darkness slipped through the room and she took the chance to place her hand on top of his, as the show started. Her shoulder felt unusually heavy and she realized it was Virgil’s head that was weighing it down. Alyna couldn’t believe he let her initiate contact, let alone show some himself. Throughout the show, they found comfort in each others presence and the gruesome, bloody scenes on stage. “We need to do this more often…” she whispered through the sounds of the ballad-like music. “I think so too.”

WHOOPS I FORGOT I WANTED TO POST THESE My Pokemon IRL Oc house broken down by rooms!!!

To start off strong! We have the first floor main room, Which holds the main living room, dining area and Kitchen. suprisingly, this room has most of the houseplants in the house... I hope you dont have a pollen allergy! This is the main living area and also the only floor with a stove. It feels cozy!! Next We have Kelsey and Rosalei's room!

Specifically made it mostly empty and easy for them to move around in, and also look like they actively live in it. I plan to put sim made paintings in eventually, likely made by Axel or Rosalei. I gave them the one rocking chair and in the less than one sim day i keep catching them using it constantly,,, We're skipping over all the bathrooms because theyre kinda boring and so we're going upstairs

Axels room is only shown at two angles so it misses some of the details but I made it to fit him. He feels like he is like me and would put his double bed against the wall until he has a reason to have both sides available lol. Plus we got his little chairs for hanging out with his friends... If they ever come over LOL

Kelsey's office is much more simple, with just her inventing table and her desktop. Usually this is where tune ups happen for Rosalei's arms and her Klingklang's biweekly Maintenance however she's been doing that more in the basement more now, as no ones currently allowed in her office for some reason.

No proper cinematic live mode screenshot of the guest room, i'm 90% sure this is not a usable bed but its fine. Its boring and follows the theming of letting two people sit in the room. Now, the basement! Marco's living Area

The way into the basement is freaky as hell btw this is intentional. My parent's basement is freaky to enter so i wanted to capture that slightly.

Marco's main area is sorted similarly to the upstairs, with a sitting area and a kitchen, but he also has excersise equipment, likely something he brought with him when he moved in. The bubble equipment is actually meant to be a bar, but i found all the bars in the sims 3 are kinda ugly so we have fanciful bubbles. Note, there isnt a stove down here, proper meals are made upstairs. Its bland but its mostly as Marco likely spends more time upstairs with his family, or in his bedroom... Which is connected to this room.

Simple but i love it. Also would likely have many trinkets and embarrassing childhood photos of Axel, and just photos of his family in general in it.

Marco in canon likely does all the laundry so i gave his bathroom the washer and dryer.. And the empty room is meant to be the storage room however i could not be bothered to clutter it. Its connected to Marco's bathroom & also has a door next to the stairs.

100% im certain they cannot afford this house in canon but i can dream.

rahhhhh hi cee! sorry this got really long HAHA

um I think I will always and forever love drawing...traditionally. digital is for my fanart exclusively and all my other stuff goes on paper. specifically I really love drawing portraits and the human figure with ink pen and I like to create form with really short strokes that flow with the shape of the body and underlying muscle/facial structure. the lines i make have been compared to schools of fish! i'll put a little snippet of some old oldddd artwork up for a while so you can get the gist....never done that before kinda nerve wracking lol so i'll put that utc for a lil while

i certainly wouldn't call it mastery...my more recent work is much more neat and intensive and detailed, but I still think it could be refined.

right now i'm looking to improve my charcoal and inkwash skills! i'm actually about to start a body of work exclusively in these mediums so i'll spend a good bit of time refining those.

VENCHIYA FUN FACT: chika and I are both horrible at keeping houseplants alive. he finds them boring and I forget about them. endo keeps a few in the kitchen on the windowsill. he likes low maintenance ones, but I still find it impressive that he can remember everything they need. he talks to them sweetly and chika looks at him funny. he has a pothos, snake plant, and two orchids. (red and blue <3)

Is this question limited to tumblr users only? If so than I guess @cdelphiki because her batman stories are amazing, she's such a great writer and while I'm in her discord server I mostly lurk nowadays so we don't really talk much.

Like 100/10 read her stuff right now if your into Star Wars, Naruto or Batman (a few example fandoms).

Hello! If you're still doing them, could I please get a Baldur's Gate 3 matchup? I hope you don't have too many, I know that matchup requests tend to pile up very quickly so I apologize if you already have a lot. 

Irl I'm AroAce but I am attracted to fictional characters, so any gender works for me. I am also genderfluid (she/her is fine), autistic and disabled with joint pain, asthma and sensitivity to cold. I'm a professional librarian, witch (and pagan, I write a lot about both things), herbalist/ethnobotanist and athlete. I really enjoy working out and getting big muscles, and I'm thinking about competing in either the Highland Games (at my state's Scottish festival) or the Paralympics. I have to be really careful with my breathing when working out and stuff because of my asthma, but I'm very stubborn so I make it work somehow lol. I'm a really odd mix of athletic and scholarly - I'm a librarian and I love plants, I can name almost any plant I find on the side of the road, but I also really enjoy being strong and impressing people with my muscles. I like to describe myself as an irl Shounen anime protagonist - I'm very spunky and determined, like if I'm going to be a witch or an athlete I'm going to be the best witch or athlete. I'm a little perfectionistic in that way but I also know when I need to take breaks. 

I love plants, I have a myriad of houseplants that I care for very deeply, and I also really enjoy cooking and baking. A big fact about my appearance is that I’m very short, I'm under 5’ (152 cm). I also have really wavy long auburn hair, glasses, big muscles, and I love collecting shirts and clothes that I think are funny. I once bought a really ugly pair of pants because they were called “gamer pants” and I found that hilarious. I'm basically if a girl was also a lame boyfriend and I love it. I'm generally a little confident and I like who I am, but I get anxious and awkward sometimes. People are actually a little surprised by my real chaotic personality because I usually put up a pretty sweethearted demeanor so they get caught off guard by some of my antics. That being said, I genuinely adore taking care of people and I like being nice to others. I’m also both a walking trivia machine and a himbo, so I know tons of facts but can’t figure out how to turn the wifi on lol. I really just do my own thing and I don’t keep up with pop culture or trends, so I’m clueless about most movies and series and things.

No. I recall my parents specifically chose my name so it had no obvious handy nicknames, but not that it was after anyone in particular.

2) When was the last time you cried?

Couple weeks ago over irl stuff that I’m not getting into.

3) Do you have kids?

I have one child. He’s 19.

4) What sports do you play/have you played?

I am terrible at most every sport. Certainly nearly everything offered at school. You know, all the standard sportsballs, tennis, track, you name it. I was on a swim team ages ago and I enjoyed that and was good at it. I’m good at archery and shooting; those are both fun. I have done equestrian stuff (trail riding, intro to show jumping and dressage) but I never had a horse so those were either rentals or classes.

5) Do you use sarcasm?

Constantly. I think it is my native language. Or dialect.

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Eyeglasses. I was an optician for a long time; it’s still the first thing I notice. Then earrings/piercings/tattoos. Or funky-colored hair.

7. What's your eye colour?

Dark brown.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Depends on what I’m in the mood for. They’re also not mutually exclusive. When I get attached to a character in a scary movie I want them to get their happy ending. Aka survival. They’ve earned it. Unless it’s Samuel L, Jackson’s character in Deep Blue Sea. Best moment in the movie from a meta standpoint imo. IYKYK.

9. Any talents?

In videogames I have the unique ability to find edges to fall of, things to get stuck on, and freak ways to glitch out of the terrain. Not the fun, youtubeable ways. The annoying, have to alt-F4 and start over kind. And hope I haven’t died in the interim. Seriously, I should test games for terrain flaws. It’s a gift.

10. Where were you born?

In a hospital. Lol yeah ok recall the sarcasm question earlier? USA.

11. What are your hobbies?

Reading, writing (not so much a hobby as an obsession), drawing, TTRPGs where I get way too attached to my characters and write elaborate backstories and playlists and fics for them. I want to get back into guitar; I haven’t played in a while and the bass is calling me. 

12. Do you have any pets?

I am down to one cat and three houseplants. The cat is smaller than two of the plants.

13. How tall are you?

5'4" (if you're American, Liberian, or Burmese) or 163cm (if you're anywhere else in the world.)

14. Favourite subject in school?

History, science, choir, and this one math class that was all word problems. That one was fun.

15. Dream job?

Writer? That’s the one constant career I’ve always wanted for as long as I can remember. If not that then a paleontologist specializing in dinosaurs, which is probably way less awesome than I think it is. Oceanographer and geologist were in the running too. 

Dream job would be one where I get to do the parts of that job that I really enjoy and none of the parts that I don’t.
