#random personal stuff#my heart is pounding#loud video being played at the reference desk#I could still faintly hear from the second floor#we have students here studying#so I got up the nerve and told him that I could hear it upstairs and would he please turn it down a bit#he mm-hmmed at me#if he did turn it down it was barely perceptibly#I could still hear it on my way to the back office#I'm the only other staff member here#...I tried?#my deepest apologies to our students#this is not something that library staff should be doing and our students deserve a quiet place to study#I hate confrontations and it took a lot of nerve to speak up#so it's personal progress that I did it at all even if he did nothing or next to it#I can't control what he does just what I do#but I don't like how this looks on us as an establishment
