#my grandma is nessie

Renesmee is partially named after Esme and yet they have no meaningful interactions in the book or movie.

We're told Renesmee sometimes sleeps in Esme's arms, but we don't see it. The only thing we really have is Nessie playing with Esme's second best set of silverware while everyone watches her.

When the Cullens leave to find witnesses, Rosalie blows Renesmee a kiss. Esme only says goodbye to Bella and Edward.

Carlisle put his hand on Edward's shoulder for a second and then kissed my forehead. Esme hugged us both, and Emmett punched us both on the arm. Rosalie forced a hard smile for Edward and me, blew a kiss to Renesmee, and then gave Jacob a parting grimace.

The only reference to 'grandma' in the books is to Grandma Swan's hair combs Bella wears at the wedding.

What's up with this? Is this just a function of the Bella-centric writing in which Esme is an afterthought? Or is this an in-universe thing where Esme and Nessie legitimately aren't close?

Likewise Charlie gets to be 'grandpa' and Carlisle's role seems more like 'doctor,' with him taking measurements and trying to get her to drink baby formula.

"Her diet… well, she prefers to drink blood. Carlisle continues to try to persuade her to drink some baby formula, too, but she doesn't have much patience with it. Can't say that I blame her – nasty-smelling stuff, even for human food."

I know fanfic and headcanons are often filled with sweet moments between Nessie and her Cullen grandparents but the text (and movie) isn't. Part of me wonders if it's because Charlie is Nessie's biological grandparent and Esme and Carlisle aren't. That whole "Edward and Bella have a REAL family" vs the found family of the larger Cullen clan.

Century of Love - Ep 3

Oh, but I loved this episode! I was afraid that San would be an asshole and go to Vee out of sheer necessity to help himself, not to apologize to him. AND THAT'S WHAT HE DID! 😆 But it was very cleverly done. First, San denies that he will absolutely, under NO circumstances, marry Vee, even if he were to DIE. Then the goddess wipes the floor with him and San gives up lmao, goes to Vee and proposes an ARRANGE MARRIAGE FOR MONEY!

Yes, Vee, me too, I was like :OOOO the whole time 😆😆😆 What a brilliant idea to preserve San's dick..nessy?, his "faithfulness" to Wat, and at the same time significantly move the plot forward. In general, I really like the way the action unfolds and doesn't waste time on boring stuff, stupidity and classic misunderstandings in this situation, which I totally expected. San quickly finds out that Vee is innocent, Vee already knows about the magic stone and that San is an everyone's favorite oji-chan and about the reincarnation. I also really like the idea of ​​marriage, I think it's brilliant.

I also liked the scene in Vee's apartment. He himself masking his pain, anger, guilt and injustice with laughter and self-deprecation, because he screwed up his life with a stupid mistake and simply being poor. And San, who came to Vee all angry and bristling, and at one point looked at Vee - and himself - in a different way, realizing that Vee was now where he once was. It was very good. I really appreciate moments like this in my BLs 💖

Chibi San as usual did not disappoint, this kid deserves all the awards. He was exactly the perfect mix of grumpy and sweet 🧁 And the way he carries himself in these oversized clothes, like it's no big deal, just everyday activity lol what a little dude! I kind of want to see BTS scenes with him, is he naturally like that :)

San's family is still fantastic. How much do they put up with grandpa's bullsh... I mean his complicated love life, which is also their main source of entertainment lol

The series tirelessly revolves around the topic of death, the difficulties of accepting it and separation from the person to whom one owes so much, and the determination to stop it, even at the cost of everything.

Daou and Offroad really give their all in this series, I don't know how Daou manages these constant scenes of acting out pain. And Offroad seamlessly switches between the always smiling Vee (how often it's a mask he wears so that others don't worry about him or not interfered in his problems, assuming that he was ok?), and those moments when he shows his pain and stress and anger at what his life is like and how he is being treated by life, strangers and circumstances. Also, Offroad is incredibly beautiful and has moments when he looks so seductively, for example in the scene in Vee's apartment when San is thinking about Vee and himself from the past and catches Vee's looking at him… gods 🔥🔥🔥 (hope someone will gif it! 👉👈). I'm going crazy because of them.

Wild theory time! Grandma is Wat, she will eat a stone and regain her youth and look like a young Wat, but San will already be half in love with Vee. Chaos ensues hehe 🤡

Diaboys (+Yui) Ideal Vacation destination •3•

•Yui grew up so sheltered, she barley saw anything in Japan X-X. So I think she should visit Mt. Fuji first, you know, get to know see the main attraction of her country. She definitely has dreams to travel the world tho.

•Shu does NOT travel. Too much effort. But if he did I think somewhere very secluded. I really like the Idea of him in Greenland, but it might bring back some traumatic memories… (the girls that get it, get it). So maybe and Icelandic Island, or somewhere in the Scottish highlands (can someone please draw Shu chilling with Nessie X-X).

•Reiji is fluid in German so I think he should visit the alps, but the Austrian ones. With all due respect I don’t think my man can handle north Germany X-X (as a German who’s das lives in north Germany, but grew up in the south. I know). I also have a headcanon, that Reiji is very good at skiing. Not sure if he can understand Austrian alp dialect (my grandmas from there so again. I know) but I believe in him

•Ayato would probably be somewhere warme. To do all the water sports and stuff. I really like the Idea of him in Mexico

•Kanato CAN’T go anywhere too warm or sunny. I think Switzerland, the mother of chocolate (let’s not talk about where chocolate is ACTUALLY from). Swiss chocolate just hits different

•Laito goes to Greece. It’s just right.

•Subaru is also not a travel man, but I like him in either the Netherlands or New Zealand. I can’t explain it just feels right

•Ruki would probably go somewhere in the Caucasus area, like turkey or Armenia (yes I know turkey isn’t actually Caucasus area, but I forgot the English word for it). Like I totally think he would explore the remains of Troy (if it really was troy) and go to archeological sights. I also like the idea of him in west Africa for the same reason.

•Yuma would go to a small village in Calabria (I hope that’s also what it’s called in English, but anyways it’s in south Italy). He would have his own little garden there and gets along great with the locals, despite not speaking a word of Italien.

•Kou has traveled the world, since yk he’s famous. So I think he’d go on a wellness retreat on a mountain in Nepal, or to live with yaks in Mongolia.

•Azusa would either go to the middle of the Saharan desert or to Siberia. No in between. I like him more in Siberia tho. Fun fact: my fathers from a little city in the very VERY west of Siberia, and I’d just think it’s cute if he went there :3 (I’ve literally never been there, even tho I’d really like to go. I just know my dad was born there)

•The Tsukinamis travel together. No other option. If it were up to Carla (which it mostly is) they take a tour around Europe. If it were up to Shin, they’d go somewhere tropical, and very much not Europe, like maybe Kongo or somewhere in South America.

•Kino goes to Korea. Again I can’t explain it, it just makes sense. I won’t specify which Korea… because he would just go to both

More crochet. Been a while, a combination of sick and the current project being big, but speaking of which:

Nessie! Big nessie. The main body is a variegated red/grey I can't remember the brand of, and the detailing is in Elements DK. Quite big, that's an olive-oil body I'm using to support it. Absolutely lovely design; even with my iffy execution, uses an interesting way of structuring to get the very twisty wiggles that are important for any good seabeastie. Pattern by Patchwork Moose/Kate E. Hancock, published in Unicorns, Dragons and More Fantasy Amigurumi.

From large to smol. This little skydragon is only 4in long, and 2in tall. And it's still bigger than the pattern expects, as I worked in 4ply rather than embroidery thread. Specifically, Silent Night by West Yorkshire Spinners. Now, the tiny really appeals to me, and I like the way it came out, even if the sparkles aren't really good for my photography skills. I didn't add the eyes the pattern calls for, the stardragon feels better without.

And this one is done in the same pattern, but I removed the wings to make it a dinosaur 'cause my crochet teacher thought's that what the other one was and I've been meaning to make her something for her trophy shelf. I added the green stripes as I was going 'cause I thought it'd be nice. The yarn is some that I got from my grandma's overspill, and my teacher likes teal.

Moodboards for my New OCs

So I'm planning to write a new horror-sort-of-romance loosely based off of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so I made a couple of moodboards for the main characters.

Name: Vanessa "Nessie" Abbott (formerly Andrews). She was given the name "Abbott" when she "joined" the family at three years old.

Eye color: Gray

Height: 5'6"

Age: 19

Backstory: When she was three, her family’s car broke down in the rural hills of West Virginia, not a house in sight. When a man came out of the woods, saying they had a house up the overgrown drive, Vanessa’s (wealthy) parents went with him, in hopes of using his family’s phone, but something wasn’t quite right about the rustic mountain farmhouse, even if it was warm and homey. Unbeknownst to her, while Vanessa played with the family’s younger son, Sylas, her parents were being brutally murdered. The Abbotts told Vanessa that her parents had gone for a mechanic, and when they never came back, they led Vanessa to believe she’d been abandoned, but consoled her with the fact that they would care for her now. 

The Abbotts raised “Nessie” alongside Sylas and the other kids (their biological children, probably). Once she got old enough to help with the killing, she realized what must have happened to her parents, but she tries not to think about it, because she likes her life and loves her new family—all thinking about her old family would do is cause problems.

Nessie doesn’t remember her parents very well, but she does remember her grandma’s house, and how she thought it looked like a castle. Her only really distinct memory of childhood was of playing with the cousins. It’s odd to her to think that those cousins are probably still out there, thinking she went missing with her parents.

Nessie and Sylas are close—she sees him and the Abbott kids as her siblings, but she doesn’t know yet that the Abbotts kept her to be Sylas’s wife.

Height: 6'2"

Age: 20

Backstory: Middle child in the Abbott family of cannibals living in the wilderness of West Virginia.

He knows he’s supposed to marry Nessie, and he genuinely loves her, but he’s nervous about bridging that gap because he knows she sees him as her brother, and he doesn’t want her to hate him.

He's known since they were kids that he was supposed to marry her when they grew up, but she didn't get the same memo, so that puts him in an awkward position. Still, the family has him under increasing pressure to make a move.

Takes care of the animal livestock (they eat human meat, but they have sheep for dairy and wool, and chickens for eggs) and the farm.

Grady Abbott: 28, 6’1”, brown hair—always has motor oil in it, a little beefier than Sylas. Oldest Abbott child (up for debate whether he’s an Abbott by blood or not). Mechanic; keeps the machines up and running. Gruff personality, not parentified by the parents, but considers himself the “head” sibling. Father’s favorite. (He gets a picture because I found the perfect picture for him when I was trying to find one for Sylas)

Abigail Abbott: 25, 5’9”, ash blond hair, wiry build, was awkward and lanky when she was younger, but she’s grown into herself. Cherishes The Hunt more than any of the kids; strives to be father’s favorite. Thinks Nessie is being overdramatic when she takes issue with Sylas’s proposal.

Wilder Abbott: 16, 6’1”, ash blond hair, Faye’s twin. Very average redneck teenage boy. Prankster. Great at making traps—learning mechanics from Grady.

Faye Abbott: 16, 5’8”, ash blond hair, Wilder’s twin. “Boyish”, prankster, really good at hiding—Nessie sewed her a ghillie suit which she cherishes. Ambush predator.

Harrison Abbott: Abbott family patriarch, 57, 6’, dark brown hair, wiry build. Quiet, in contrast to most of the family. Dark past (obviously). Obsessed with “keeping meet on the table”. His mom killed his father one incredibly lean winter and fed him to young Harrison to keep him alive. Harrison is intent on never having to eat another family member, and never having his family go hungry. He feels that if they're willing to kill outsiders, they'll never have to resort to killing their own kin.

Genie Abbott: Abbott family mother, 49, 5’9”, ash blonde hair, stout strong build. Classically motherly, mother-hens her children. Considers Nessie a “blessing” to their family (it was her idea to keep Nessie as a future wife for Sylas). Very doting on Nessie, always had her at her side when she was growing up. Grooming Nessie to be the kind of woman she wants her son to marry. Sweet like the smell of a rotting human body.

The main Victim group when I actually write the book will be led by a cousin of Nessie's from her birth family. A rich asshole. Might have a "Final Girl" in the Victim group, but I haven't decided yet.

At work lately I’ve been juggling my many AUs and ideas but I really cooked myself with the following

A swap where the narratives of the pines family is swapped with the yearlings (so the pines have magic and Aggie is responsible for the portal) which is interesting but requires me to pull in my side ocs and it’s still not a perfect 1:1 translation but it’s been interesting

And then I got the crazy idea of doing basically the same thing but having Aggie be a twin so the translation works a little better

But that’s so crazy bc I’d be literally deleting ford and making another character

Like I’m not gonna pursue this further than my little scratchy doodles but I did have one revelation that I might try to explore for funsies

Like imagine Aggies twin sister goes through the portal (Her name is Agnes but goes by Nessie) and she has to assume her sisters identity but she’s got this son

But this son can’t see, so how’s he gonna know if he’s talking to his mom or aunt

Like sure she could let him in on the rouse but maybe he’s too young or something but she just raises her son as if she’s his aunt etc etc fakes her death so there’s no loose ends

Olive comes into the picture and she’s always assumed her great aunt Aggie was Agnes, and that Agatha, her dads birth mom had died when he was little but then the portal opens and out steps the REAL Agnes and Aggie is revealed to be the long-dead Agatha and

Professor Hershel Layton is a Professor of Archeology in Motostoke (Ground/Rock) who studies with Professor Maggie Evermore about the legendaries and how the fossils of pokèmon can help them find more about the past of Unova and other regions.

Luke Triton originally born in Wyndon but now lives with his parent’s in Ballonlea (he’s about 19 in this and is a water/Normal type trainer) Laytons former apprentice follows his own path studying the bond between a pokèmon and trainer by travelling across regions to see how the connection differs in each region.

Lastly Emmy Altava former adventurer now part time photographer in Chirchester, (electric/fighting type trainer) who is investigating the mystery’s of the legendary pokèmon darkarai and cresselia and how they can cause both chaos and destruction for the pokèmon world.

The three are brought back together to solve the mystery of the azaran legacy, and maybe stop a dormant pokèmon from waking up and causing a shit ton of problems for the world.

They meet Desmond Sycamore a (dark/ice type ) professor in Hammerlock who finds a girl frozen in ice with only memories of loosing her pokèmon who is yearning to find it and bring it home.

Which has lead him to think that she knows more about the legendary pokèmon that lays underneath the highest mountain in galar.

He decides that he should take her along with the gang to the small town of Misthaven where the elders know more about the legends.

The gang have to find the many keys that will unlock the history of the Azaran before it is to late and the apocalypse is brought to the world.

And that is how the story begins.

Some little headcannons/backstory for this au

Flora is Fairy/steel and at 18 has become one of the most talented mechanics in postwick.

She can build almost anything from robots to full on machines.

Flora was originally from Hammerlock but moved after a terrible thing that happened there.

Luke is from Wyndon in this and grew up with Ariana (ghost type trainer) and the two of them have a healthy rivalry.

She is actually set to become the next ghost gym leader after her father retires.

Claire is Steel/Dragon/psychic and is currently working on her latest project that can help hershel and the gang

She is also juggling wedding planning on the side with Angela (fire) and Randal (ground/dragon)

Anton (ghost/poison ) is one of the last remaining dukes of Galar and his family the herzen’s are the keepers of a very important keys.

Sophia (fairy/ice) lives with their daughter Iris (Ice/poison) hiding the second key in the necklace anton gave her as a symbol of their love.

She ran away from Folsense or Ballonlea just like the game but remains alive (she’s about late 30s early 40s in this)

The Pandora’s box stayed with Anton.

Desmond in this au has a wife she’s alive along with their daughter. The two of them live in wedgehurst.

He doesn’t actually know this due to him thinking that they both died in a tragic accident to do with the Azaran a few years prior in Hammerlock.

Their names are Erica (flying/water) and Nessie (Flying) or ness for short.

Erica is a teacher/mechanic who is hell bent on not talking about the Azaran and what she knows and what it did to her.

Rachel (steel/grass) and Leon (fire/dark) have a extremely tense relationship in this due to Targent and opposing ideals.

But the both love each other very very much and one day want their sons to be reunited with them again.

Janice (normal/fairy) and Malina (ghost/dragon) are in this (I WILL MAKE THEM FIT) they know something about the Azaran but not that much

The two of them actually run a little opera together and tell the tales of the legends

Maggie is actually Sonia’s great great great grandma (she’s actually one of my oc’s for my pokèmon au called order of jirachi) she’s an electric type professor.

She’s one of those who knows a lot more then she lets on about the Azaran, and she tries to hide it because of the repercussions it could cause.

Basically everyone is linked to the Azaran for some reason I don’t know why but I wanted to see how I could connect and weave stories from characters that had never met or weren’t explored!

media that summarises me: the movie "Interstellar" and the netflix series "Please like me" come to mind, but it's really hard to pick a media that "summarises" me and isn't just, you know, a favourite? Also "Call the midwife" is my favourite tv series and has defined my early 20's a lot.

instruments: i can't play any instruments (i only briefly played the piano as a child) but i am a trained singer, so if we count my voice lol?

aesthetic: i like both dark academia and several variations of goth aesthetic as well as vintage, victorian/edwardian and artsy aesthetics, but i don't really dress like that bc i'm too dissatisfied with my body size/shape to pursue a specific aesthetic other than classic, clean cut, basic-but-stylish dark clothes and gold jewellery

favourite author: Nick Hornby, though it's been a long time since i read any of his books now. And Oliver Sachs!

random fun fact: i'm distantly related to swedish author and winner of the nobel prize for literature Selma Lagerlöf on my maternal grandma's side (and i also happen to be a casual writer and have been complimented on my writing from an early age)

Amount of Sleep-Normal nights it's 10:30-7:30 so 9 hours. Nights where I don't have shit going on tomorrow I stay up till 11:30-anywhere between 9 and 12:45. So 13 hours hypothetically but this doesn't count the time it takes for me to fall asleep or when I wake up in the middle of the night randomly.

Dream Job: Don't have one. I'm studying to be a Computer Engineer though since that's what my father did.

Wearing-Sweat pants and a green jacket/hoodie. Sometimes I switch it out for a red one. Other than that, I just wear that every single day. It's become my iconic look at this point.

Movies/books/media that summarize you: I love soulsborne stuff. Not sure if it summarizes me but I'm not sure any media does.

Favorite Song: None. Like seriously, you gotta specify which genre, whether it can be game music or not, mainstream or indie youtube creators, etc. Aviators is one of my favorite indie creators though and I love the band "A Fall to Break"

Instrument-I played recorder once in 4th grade. I was semi good at it. Does this count? I do like singing and I like to think I'm pretty decent at it.

Aesthetic- Look at my posts dumbass(affectionate). Bloodborne's gothic horror isn't something that is easily beat.

Favorite Author- Jeffery Deaver and Micheal Conelly.

This morning I woke up really early and decided to wake my brothers up with some classic Christmas music. This was one of my songs:

For some reason Scotty didn’t like it 🤷‍♂️. He ordered Parker jr to take me out until I was “suitably exhausted” so she and Parker nessie took me into town for the winter fest to explore. Scott was so desperate for some peace and quiet that he gave Parker jr money to keep me entertained!

Unfortunately he didn’t give me enough for this really cool bag

But I found a puzzle, and a doughnut stand, then I went and played on the hook a duck to rescue a plushie. I won a shark, his name is Jaws. Then it started to rain so we went to costa for some lunch before I went to explore the market. Parker jr said I still had some money left so I chose a ride to go on. I went on the big wheel! It was so so fun!!!!

Today was Scott’s big trip he has been organising for weeks for Parker Nessie’s birthday. Then John found out he was going to a museum and begged to go with him. Scott and he compromised as Scott was determined to have a day out on his own but wouldn’t tell Parker jr what he and John agreed too.

Then I found out they were going to a museum with boats and decided I needed to go so I asked Scott and he said “jfc (he really did say the F word) fine you can all come!

So we did!

There’s a red weather warning in the uk for high winds and we have been advised to keep warm and safe indoors and watch thunderbirds. @drileyf my best friend - squiddy, and my wife - lady Penelope would like to say thank you so much for finding them a forever home where they are loved and cherished 💛. John said it’s the queens platinum jubilee and that she has been the queen of England for 70 years (that’s even older than grandma!) Casey joined us for our picnic (which was supposed to be outdoors but it’s raining 🥺) so we moved the party indoors

We even got to wear these awesome crowns!

Let's say that women who become vampires as a consequence of giving birth to a hybrid remain fertile and can have kids forever. How do Bella/Edward feel if they have another accident kid after Nessie, AGAIN believing that should be possible? How does Aro react? The larger vampire world? What about Leah and Rose? How incandescently pissed is Leah that THE LEECH CAN HAVE EVEN MORE KIDS but not her?

In some versions of the Rumpelstiltskin story, he gets so angry when the queen guesses his name that he stomps his foot through the floor and rips himself in half.

That's the first thing that comes to mind.

Especially because I could see Edward and Bella both freaking out and Bella even being lowkey like "ugh I already had a kid though? Why does this always happen to me?" as Rosalie is trying not to spontaneously combust with rage that a) Bella gets to have another kid and b) Bella is oblivious and ungrateful again.

And look, I get it, it's not Bella's 'fault' and she can't be responsible for Rosalie's feelings, but if she's as good and empathetic as we're told she is, Bella should pick up on "gosh this must be hard for her" and like . . . reach out. Talk about it. The vibe from Breaking Dawn is that Rosalie (and Esme) are just supposed to be grateful to Bella for giving them access to a baby and that it solves all their maternal longings but like, really? They didn't dream of being an aunt and grandma, they dreamed of being mothers. Their feelings would be a lot more complicated than "Bella THANK YOU for this blessing!" it would only be natural to have to some jealousy and regret mixed in. They can love Nessie AND be grateful to Bella AND be sad and jealous to varying degrees.

But if Bella kept popping out kids and Rosalie had any issue with it at all, it would just be framed as "gosh Rosalie is such a bitch for not being happy for Bella." Watching someone else live your dream is hard. Watching someone else live your dream when they were dismissive of it is even worse. Watching them do it TWICE? Yikes. Likewise I can't imagine Leah would be thrilled. Or Esme. Bella had chosen to give up the chance to have children (none of these other women had a choice) and then Bella gets to . . . keep accidentally having kids and almost certainly grumble about it. "Ugh I just want to have amazing vampire sex with my gorgeous eternally teenage husband why do I keep getting pregnant?"
