as a matter of fact, i do!! this is a little snippet of ceasefire, my post-trespasser/post-break up fic. here, cullen and rylen are checking in on some new members of their ex-Templar rehab center:
The shouting wakes him. It’s always a shock but even through the fog of sleep, he gets to his feet and automatically throws on a shirt in one fluid, practiced motion. The hallway is mercifully empty, and the source of the noise has their door open. He can already see Rylen in the doorway, arms crossed. He steps up behind him, peering into the room, squinting to see in the dark.
“Alright in here?” Cullen asks. The curtains in the room are drawn against what little starlight can filter in, drenching the two men sitting on the edge of their beds in utter darkness.
One of the men says, “Yes. Sorry. Just a—”
“Nightmare,” Rylen says. “I bet the Inquisitor heard that one. She must think we’re beating you all in here.”

Hello hello hello! I have a question. You've posted the first half of The Art of Being Seen in a quick succession, and I've noticed that these are /long/ scenes that you're working with with A+ editing. I was wondering, were many of these scenes already completed before you posted them onto tumblr? 🤔If so, how did you manage to hold back from previewing them? I feel my biggest problem as a story teller is that I rush to get the content out due to my excitement.

No seriously, the short answer is yes! I’ll have the next two to three parts already completed by the time I post the first. At least for this story.
I think I’ve done a good job since I started storytelling with not spoiling my own story or rushing through it (even though I really really want to all the time) bc I know the pay off will be better appreciated in the long run. I also want to quickly get content out which is why I work on my stories all the time.
The best way for me to work on my story is that I never really shoot scenes in order. I always take care of the big ones first or the main focus of the update first and I’ll fill in the smaller parts later on. I’m also always a day or two head of when I post vs working on them in real time. So let’s say I’ll post part one on Monday morning , Monday night im already working on part three or four because I started working on part one last Thursday and part two last Sunday. That makes sense? 😭
I also do very little editing which allows me to post quickly! It’s mostly gshade pulling the heavy lifting. I use alot of in game objects to help with scenes that maybe someone would edit in photoshop. Here’s a sneak peek of such a scene where I used these lights bc I don’t have the skills atm to create in PS.
I also owe my heart and soul to builders who create breathtaking lots, because if I had to make even a third of the builds I used I’d post once a year. I’m an awful builder, so downloading the lots I need cuts time between post down soooo much.
TL DR: a firm talk with myself to behave and be patient and have a fairly decent posting schedule that’s ahead of when I actually release them into the wild. 😭🥹

oh yeah. the reason why i decided to reread tbhk (and thus it was able to hit me like a truck this time around) was actually not bc of mitsukou going canon but actually bc i maybe accidentally started a tbhk book club w my kids at work and wanted to check the contents of it justttt in case before i put the books in their hands
#tl;dr i have this one 4th grade boy who's a total weeb and knows that i'm the only one in this town who's more into japanese media than him#so he pesters me abt it every time he sees me. and the thing abt this kid is that he gets bored easily and if he does he turns into a#complete menace. now a couple weeks ago. he shows up at the program w one piece volume one and spends the entire time he's there peacefully#reading and not causing any problems on purpose. my coworker owen (the one who climbed onto the roof) and i were shocked and in awe of how#peaceful he was being and came to the conclusion that he NEEDS to have a manga volume in his hands at all times. few minutes later.#he finishes reading and isn't bored yet so he decides to go talk to me abt manga. specifically he starts pestering me abt what shonen i've#read despite the fact that i am a shoujo reader and told him that. but he knows i've read kuroshitsuji bc he previously asked me abt what#the worst anime i've ever watched is and i will never not take an excuse to drag the adaptation. and he figures that if i've read kuro i've#probably read more. and so i mention tbhk and he asks more abt it bc of the name involving toilets and him being a 4th grade boy so i give#brief overview and he wants to read it. and i come up with a scheme to make him peaceful AND to give him something to talk to me abt which#isn't 'i know you've read more shonen manga' 'let me gacha on your phone' or 'i saw an ad for rent a gf. thought it was lame. and now want#you to tell me how it sucks bc i assume you know everything abt every animanga ever' (<does unfortunately know too much abt rent a gf bc i'#a bit of a nosy bastard and watched the mother's basement video). so i offered to bring it in bc i own physicals of the whole series and of#as previously mentioned. gave it a quick reread in advance just in case. and got hit by it. hard. i love you tbhk almost as much as i love#when ppl get into things through me. honestly i think getting to live vicariously through him might be one of the main reasons it got me#this time around and not as much the first time (still loved it the first time though). flash forward a little while. one of the 3rd grade#girls is like. really into reading. and also macabre things. like ghosts. and she has two books from the school library. and has had the#same two books from the school library for over a week. she reads quickly and finished them both in under a day and is now bored out of her#mind rereading them. she asks to read the books i've been letting the other kid read. now there are two of them#romeo.txt

i do wish death parade stuck with just the more intimate case-by-case story structure overall... the wider worldbuilding and narrative just doesn't hold up that well and i personally get impatient in the middle of the series 💔 i think going super vague with how arbiting works and adding more judgements would have made for a stronger series overall, with the overarching narrative just sticking to chiyuki's arc and maybe one or two other arbiter judgements like they did with ginti if they wanted to still make the world feel wider. though i really think making it smaller overall would have really been the move...
#the only series ive ever wanted to be almost completely episodic lol.... its just such a fantastic episodic premise 😭#i was wondering why i didn't remember past the first 4 or so episodes and then i was like ohhh#thats all they do before they start doing other stuff 😭 the judgment pairs are the meat#like i just want 12 episodes of that....#the worldbuilding is just so weak for how much the intended plot relies on it... also doesnt make sense#'arbiters cant stop passing judgement' but quin explicitly got a department change and stopped passing judgement#nona also is an arbiter i think and she doesnt do judgements either#they treat arbiter like a species not a job title so idk...#'arbiters cant feel human emotion' but theres no distinction made for what that is....#ginti is angry and pissed off all the time. he's sentimental. he's fond of his cat. he's egotistical. those are all human emotions...#the new fourth rule doesnt hold up because the third doesnt make sense to begin with#i do think arbiters being upcycled from the void is a great concept too bad they only mention it in passing at the end LOL#also idk why ginti cant pass judgement on that teenage girl 💀#ik she's a unique person and he's not great at his job but i do think its pretty clean cut#shes a passionate alt teenage/young adult girl... shes not fundamentally flawed or secretly evil.... send her back up 😭#i really dont even understand her ending.... whyd he bring harada back to have her make a moral statement#only to just send her into the void because she wanted to be with him...#sacrificing herself so he wouldnt be alone in the void is the second time she's selfless like that#so like.... why actually send her to the void 😭#makes for an awesome scene though....#the skating scene is also still one of my all time favs..... so so so beautiful and awesome....#dp

not my dad not liking moral orel season 3 🤭🤭🤭that's so embarrassing for him (<- he's not wrong for feeling that way but i think it's like 60% because he doesn't like it when art gets weird and that's so so tragic for him)
#i actually think his points make sense this time. which tbqh is not normally how i feel when he criticizes smth i love#basically he was like s3 was a completely different show from the first two seasons#and he didn't like how all over the place and directionless it felt#and honestly yeah ok i can see that#personally i think the choice to broaden the focus to moralton broadly vs mostly just orel is really interesting#and it allows for different facets of their critique of fundie waspisms to extend to situations/characters orel wouldn't really be privy to#(could you imagine 'alone' with orel there? me neither)#and i personally liked them fleshing out the marginal characters. i never found that boring or like a major diversion#again they're like 11 min episodic(ish) things it's hard for them to feel like they drag on y'know#it shows a lot of ambition and i think they pulled it off really well tbh (cancellation aside)#but i will agree that the transition is a little sudden. nature is such a big moment for the series#and for orel's arc specifically but then we spend little time with orel post-nature so the tone shift doesn't#necessarily align with his realization (at least in terms of the canon timeline. ep release order does align)#it's sudden but we jump back to before the shattering. it's disorienting and i think it's kind of cool as hell#a realization like orel's in nature is gonna throw the past into question and color his life and thus the town#(bc let's face it orel is the real mayor of moralton kfhsjs) and while we've been seeing Some of moralton's ugliness#in every episode until now it's shown in full force in and post-nature (release-wise). so when the timeline jumps around#and it all feels twisted and hazy and sickening and it All Comes Back To The Hunting Trip as our point of reference#for when things are happening it makes it feel like the trip Caused this disturbance. it's almost a spatio-temporal THING#like orel IS the center of this universe. my point is it's weird and i like it a lot i think it works#but anyway i think s3 is a natural evolution of s1+2 albeit an accelerated one#and i really wish we'd gotten to see more of what s3 morel was cooking bc it was setting up some really cool stuff imo#like he hated everything w mommy censordoll x clay but it's SUCH a cool place to take their characters. freud would go crazy#moral orel#and i think if they knew where they had to end the season maybe focusing on other characters was a way to keep orel stagnant enough to like#end the finale where they needed him. maybe.#we actually DID finish it yesterday. i rewatched the finale the day before bc i was impatient but yeah 👍#now it's chapter black time >:}

I am reading the Neapolitan Quartet by Elena Ferrannte (I finished My Brilliant Friend on Friday and I'm almost 200 pages into the second book now) and I have so many thoughts about complicated female friendships, loving 'ugly' places, women's fiction, etc. But my main thought is just how nice it is to pick up a book that you would have never picked yourself based on a friend's recommendation and find out that you actually really like it.
#the double pleasure of reading a good book while thinking of the friend who recommended it to you#personal#i may end up posting some of the aforementioned thoughts about the book here#it's just the more i try to plan things the less they seem to happen and i wanted to make at least one post about these books bc#i can't the remember the last time i was so sucked in by a book series#it's almost nostalgic - initially i only borrowed the first book so once i was done with it i went to the library straight after work#that same day to get the second one#it made me think of going to my local library each friday after school when i was a kid#and just feeling that same sense of excitement about bringing a new book home with me#also. the vibe of this series is completely different but the relationship between elena/lila reminds me so much of needy and jennifer#from jennifer's body

Idk who I’m making this post for, feel like i just wanna get my thoughts down. If anyone wants to comment they’re welcome to
Just played Oblivion for the first time ever, put almost 5 straight hours in….
Would it be weird to say it managed to make me feel homesick for Skyrim?
Idk man it’s not bad and maybe once I get a better grip on the mechanics it’ll be better but not only am I immensely lost with how the personality/speech skills work as well as generally confused by almost everything, but Oblivion’s map layout just feels so….lonely. Barren and lonely. It made me sad lmfao I saw Skyrim on the map and was like omg home :,(
I don’t hate it though! I just think I have to get used to it, though I can’t stand having to figure out the 4 or 5 inventory/journal tabs, I’m so so so confused by them
I do appreciate the automatic dual wield with weapons and magic, wish they kept they in Skyrim. Felt the same way about that particular mechanic when I saw original Bioshock used it after already playing Bio Infinite first
I am however having a BLAST with the battle music cut-out and the way characters absolutely either rag doll or launch when you kill them and the infamous zoom-in on faces <3
I think, everything else aside, my main frustration is how lackluster quests are compared to skyrim. It just doesn’t have the same urgency, and the way they’re organized in the tab feels like they’re hidden away sort of? Idk something about Oblivion just isn’t encouraging me to go and explore or talk to people or do quests the way Skyrim does
I am aware that these are practically two completely different games despite sharing developers and lore/storylines but when it’s a game from a specific series usually you expect that they’ll have at least a similar vibe. Oblivion struck me the same way Morrowind did, which is that it’s lacking in the same excitement I feel playing Skyrim
But again, I understand why! There were YEARS between these games and a lot has changed and they’ve gotten better at art style, mechanics, etc which therefore will produce different games. I really really really wanna enjoy Oblivion (I’d also like to enjoy Morrowind but god that felt almost tedious) so if anyone sees this and has advice for how best to enjoy Oblivion (minus mods! Wanna finish it normally first) I would greatly appreciate it

Love the feeling of going back to a draft after a legit year and laughing out loud at shenanigans you forgot writing.
#rose and rambles#prosie's writing adventures#so i have a fairy tale series in the works and bonus points to whoever remembers this but#i did write book 2 once i finished book 1#i just haven't touched it literally since writing the first draft and its been a year almost exactly#i finished it last august/september#and i went back to it to give a reread because ive known there were things i was going to fix so im getting prepared to do that#and the thing about the fairy tale series is i want each book to follow different protagonists and there's an overlapping narrative#that drags everyone together in the last book#and my antagonist from the first book makes an appearance near the end of the second book#because of background machinations#his name is robin and hes such a little jerk fr fr#but it was so funny because i forgot exactly what happens with him#and he ends up getting chased away by an arctic fox and theres a scream and were meant to assume he was frozen#and im like beautiful. love he gets frozen before the day is saved#poetic justice. BUT THEN AFTER THE THREAT IS NULLIFIED THE LITTLE BRAT POPS OUT LIKE 'NEVER FEAR I HAVE THE SOLUTION' COMPLETELY OKAY#I FORGOT THAT AND JUST STARTED LAUGHING#anyway the fear exists that this story is too self indulgent and it does need work still#but it got me to really laugh so you know what? that's enough rn#I love robin so much#hes meant to be the most pathetic antagonist but his ego is off the charts#and he's only fueled by petty revenge against a protag in the first book so he gets roped into a grander scheme by the main antagonist#he's just a delight#not to hang out with but to write and hopefully to read XD

EDIT 2: I almost forgot to mention, if you are unable to write/type your story, you can also narrate/dictate your story to your preferred recording device!
If you're doing a Recording only and it doesn't automatically generate a transcript, it would obviously be hard to judge the word count -- but you're also working with a lot of obstacles, so I'd say if you're able to complete your story via voice recording from start to finish, you've definitely achieved the goal!
Edit #3: added the title "Novella November 2024 announcement post" to the top to make it more standard with my Ominous October and Drabble December posts (will be updating Outline October shortly) , added "Official Announcement Post 2024" to the tags so people can easily find the monthly events for 2024, and added a bit of bold to the third bullet point in the original post from September 2nd 2024 for emphasis.

I have acquired the charms bracelets.
#long time no post about my descent into looking into recent merch-I-almost-missed-out-on madness#but yes i did buy chunky bracelet beads in the shape of character faces bcuz they were cute and inexpensive#i have half the full set and now i need to track down the other since these came out like 4 yrs ago and are harder to find#and they technically are imports because this same series got made by two different manufacturers for ? reasons ?#but the first release are better and bigger and not plastic-glossy and they have cute little symbol beads#will i wear them? perhaps. but I really bought them for background pieces for my eventual bookshelf project#which i still need to track down reference images for#also something something 3/8 done with my fig search for this same series#its a waiting game of seeing when something will pop up for an actual reasonable price#which sucks because had i known they existed sooner i'd have had them for $10 or less a pop T-T#curse my extended ed for taking my focus away from what's really important (jk jk they really did come out when i was focused on not wastin#time and money so :P)#Also important that somehow its cheaper to buy the old set in full than the new set#because while they're all blind bags the old set came complete if you bought them by the case#and the new set you can't (or i haven't seen anyone able to as of yet)
