Have you ever had to deal with people who are new to owning certain species of Pokémon and just kinda. Freak out over what turns out to be a completely normal behaviour because they're just. Super paranoid.

Asking because when I first got my tepig he used to chill in the oven right after I'd taken cooked food out, and my anxious ass thought he'd die because of the small amounts of grease in the bottom of the oven and I wanna make sure I'm not the only nervous idiot out there

these is extremely common! pokemon are pretty amazing little critters, and some of their behaviors can be surprising and concerning if you're not used to a creature that can live in a volcano or regularly lets itself get hit by lightning to power up. that's why i try to cover weird but common behaviors when i'm advising on an adoption. personally, as a pokemon educator, i'd prefer a trainer to be overly cautious than to dismiss behaviors they don't know about! in your case, if your tepig was sick, it could end up choking you with smoke if you weren't paying attention to its needs.

granted, while many fire types enjoy a bit of oven time (fidough also do this), i recommend against allowing it in general because it's very easy for them to get stuck in that confined space, and if they panic, it can be hard to get them out safely. the grease isn't likely to prove fatal if they get a little on them, but if they try to eat it, it could cause a painful condition called pancreatitis. best to get them a nice heating pad to sleep on instead, even if they make an adorably sad face at you (hence many memes of litten staring longingly at a closed oven with text that says "little beepo's misery is increasing")

The Universe: It's basically Canon Genshin, but with Pokemon. Diluc still went away for a while and runs the Winery now, while Kaeya es captain of the knights. (Please ignore the way to modern clothing)

Who belongs to who?

Kaeya:

Arcani - He got it after Diluc left, because Kaeya missed him so much. It's named after Diluc Chien-Pao - Where the fuck did you get that, boy?? - or: Kaeya found it frozen solid on Dragonspine when he was younger and nursed it back to health. Empoleon - Gives great hugs Emolga - Small but string - it reminds him of Klee. Espurr - it just followed him home, so he kept it. (Everyone thinks Kaeya only has 5 Pokemon, but he has a sealed Pokeball that was given to him by his father, with a legendary Pokemon in it that was handed down through generations. Kaeya has never let it out)

Diluc:

Alola-Vulnona - Diluc encountered a Alola-Vulpix while he traveled in Snezhnaya and they became travel companions. Its evolution was triggered when Diluc was in great danger, and he owes it his life. Fiaro - The first Pokemon Diluc ever caught. Galloppa - Useful companion Turnopto - Starter Sengo - They stare at each other angrily a lot Litten - It caught itself by playing with a Pokeball - get owned, idiot

Simple drawing of me and my little guys

I'll do a more rendered piece of my boyos at some point.

From the order I got them,

Pip (Blaziken) Female

My first ever pokemon from Hoen. I had no idea what my torchic would evolve into. Would have probably picked a different name now, but I was ten at the time.

I had to move before I got to victory road because of Groundon and Kyoger got into a beef and the outcome destroyed our apartment building

Lilly pad (Greninja) Male

My second pokemon, I had just moved to Kalos and wanted to try the Pokemon gym challenge again. I also wanted to try a water type and fell in love with Froakie as soon as I saw him. The other kids told me my Froakie was a male and told me not to name him Lilly pad. But Pad and I ignored them.

I had to move once more after only completing two gyms. I don't remember why we had to move, but I think it was because of my parents separation or something and we needed to move into a smaller home.

Patches (Eevee) Male

Third pokemon, Professor in the gym challenge ran out of starters and told us to wait for him to get some starter adjacent pokemon for us. We waited outside and that's when a random Eevee ran out of the bushes and fucking tackled me to the ground. Professor oak let me use Patches as my starter and I actually almost completed the champion battle but lost and we had to move before I could challenge them again.

My grandparents in Alola (they retired there) needed help with their home repairs.

Trailblazer (Torracat) Female & Wires (Rotomdex)

I had so much fun with my Torracat, though I was entering my edgy phase and saw what the litten line evolved into, and named them to fit the final evolution. Jokes on me Trailblazer, or Blaze for short, didn't want to evolve into it's final form.

Wires was my Rotomdex and the Professor let them come along with me after I moved. They help me stay in touch with all my friends all over the world, and also make a great friend themself.

Though I did finish the gym trials, elite four, and champion battle, but relinquished my title as my mom and I moved again to where my grandparents are originally from.

Hyper Pop (Cinderace) Female

Named after her hyperactivity as a Scorbunny and the pop sound her little fire balls made when she kicked them around.

I also completed the gym challenges and passed down my champion title to a sweet girl who challenged me.

Moved to Sinnoh due to Mom's job

Majesty (Empoleon) Male

Really enjoyed doing contests with Majesty, and he loved stealing the show. And we completed five gyms and then stuff happened.

Weed (Hisuian Typhlosion) Female

Let's call it divine intervention on how I got this pokemon. Thanks Arceus.

Left the region to go to school and learn more about pokemon and art after I got back home and went to stay in Paldea with one of my other aunties.

Mammon (Foecoco) Male

My favorite little chilli pepper, who has lost the braincell. He stayed a Foecoco during the entirety of school, and still is, even after finishing the gym challenge, becoming champion rank, and other ... Wild shenanigans during school.

Recently found out he swallowed a small non harmful everstone.

And that's currently all my pokemon.

Chapter Four

Popsicles 

      That night you found it hard to sleep. You lied awake, resting a hand on your stomach the way he had. You felt warm. It was a new feeling. One you couldn’t really understand. His hand was so big compared to yours. They were rough, but were gentle with you. You wanted him to touch you again. 

      You sighed and finally let your thoughts come to a rest. You buried your face comfortably into your pillow and started to drift off. Before you could fully fall asleep, a realization popped into your head. “HE SAW ME IN MY PAJAMA SHORTS-“ your face heated with embarrassment.

      You hated that. You hated showing skin. You had a few stretch marks on your inner thighs and hips. It wasn’t much, and was hardly noticeable, but it still bothered you. You felt imperfect. Plus, you hated the way your thighs looked. In your eyes, they were fat and ugly. 

      Other girls you saw had such slender thighs. You always took notice in how yours rubbed together when you walked, and theirs didn’t. It felt like inconvenience. You hated your stubby legs. You weren’t normal and slender, you were short. Sure you were pretty skinny, but it wasn’t good enough. Being short meant you couldn’t eat a lot without gaining weight.

       You needed to be perfect. You needed to be beautiful. But you never felt like you were. You groaned as you remembered you weren’t empty anymore, now filled with cookies. It was only a few, but it made you feel gross and greedy. You fell asleep mentally tearing yourself apart. 

       It wasn’t until the early afternoon that you woke up, stretching your sleep off. You slumped off of your bed and threw on sweatpants and a hoodie before heading downstairs to see if anything was going on. Most of the Grunts had left to go muck around and take part in Shenanigans, or whatever they do. You sighed, realizing there wasn’t anything to do, and turned around to go back to bed again. You almost made it to the stairs before you were stopped by a familiar face. 

          “Come walk with me.” Guzma waved you over to him as he started heading for the door. You didn’t really question him. What else were you going to do today? Plus, you enjoyed the time you spent with him. 

        As you jogged over to him, he opened the door. To your surprise, Guzma let you go first, holding the door open for you. It may have been a small gesture, but it made you feel warm. The both of you headed for the beach near Po Town, where Guzma normally went to blow off steam. You wondered what he wanted to talk to you about. Your thoughts were interrupted as Guzma let out his Golisopod. 

      The large bug clicked happily, glad it had been let out of its Poke-ball. Guzma patted it on the head, and shewed it off to go do its own thing. You thought about your own Pokemon, and felt kinda bad. You weren’t the best at taking them outside everyday. You loved them, of course you did. Sometimes it felt like it was just you and them against the world. And well, 

Sometimes it felt the world was against you. 

       You reached your hand into your pocket and let out your Gibble. Guzma looked over at it, a bit surprised. “You got a Gibble? Since when?” You looked over at your Gibble, squatting to pet it on the head. It smiled widely and coed. “I’ve had this little Goober ever since I was a kid.” Guzma chuckled. “Really? How come he isn’t all evolved n’ shit?” 

          You felt bad. You didn’t really have a good explanation for why, you just didn’t train a lot. When you first came to Alola when you were 16, you got a Litten, which you named Sparky. Sparky was a Toracat now, and you also had scooped up a Mimikyu you named Mimsy a few weeks ago. You gave the island trials a try, and did get a few Z Crystal’s, but after a while you didn’t see the point in it anymore. 

        Were you even good enough to become the Champion? You didn’t see the point in training when you knew you’d always be the same sad little girl you always were. The same kid that ran away from home only a few years ago. You tried to push everything to the back of your mind as you came up with a response. “I never really saw the point in training, for me at least. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.” 

           Guzma scoffed. “You fuckin’ kiddin’ me? Of course ya gotta train! You got a rockin’ Pokémon there with so much raw potential!” You looked back over at Guzma. “I ain’t gonna be the Boss of a buncha slackers and squibs, now am I? Show some respect ta ya boi!” Even though he sounded mean, you could tell he was being sincere and honest. It was strangely motivating.

       “What’s gonna happen if some goody-two-shoes kid comes up on ya terf? Huh?” He waited for a response. “Battle em?” “Ya damn right ya gonna battle em!” You almost laughed. Even though he was serious, you still thought he was being a bit goofy. “Whats with the smilin softie? Somethin funny?” He got up in your face, cocking an eyebrow. He smirked a little, now intentionally trying to get you to laugh. 

      You giggled softly, playfully pushing him away from your face. He gasped dramatically. “Ya gonna disrespect ya boi like dat?! Ah hell nah!” He took a few steps back and smiled widely. “We battlin’ this out!” You blinked. Guzma was challenging you? “I.. I dunno.” He raised an eyebrow. “Wadya mean ya don’t know?” “I mean, why would I get in a battle I know I’m gonna loose?” He scoffed. “The hell you are with that mindset! C’mon girl ya gotta give me somethin! Ya got my blood pumping and everythin’, don’t just leave me hangin!” 

      Something about the way he said that so naturally felt so warm to you. You knew that everything he said was honest. He was always so blunt. You sighed, deciding to give it a shot. Who were you to deny a battle with the boss? And plus, 

You wanted to deserve the kindness he gave you. 

     “Okay. Let’s battle!” He smiled from ear to ear, as he noted the determination in your voice. “You wanna see what destruction looks like? Here it is! In human form!” You smiled, Guzma was going to give it his all. And so were you. 

       Guzma’s Pokémon were a lot stronger than yours, plus he had 3 more than you did. You hadn’t had a battle like that in a long time. And as expected, you lost. As you withdrew your last Pokémon, you couldn’t help but think “My all isn’t good enough.” 

      Guzma, seeing you a bit down, walked over and patted you on the back. “Don’t sweat it Softie, it takes a real type of trainer to beat me in a Pokémon battle.” He ruffled your hair. “All the more reason to train, right?” You nodded and looked over at him. “Let’s get ya’ to a poke-center. I dunno about you, but I could use it. You put up one hell of a fight.” That made you feel a bit better. 

    “Hey, do you have one of those Charizard flight license or whatever their called?” You looked over at him. “Yeah. Do you want to use it?” He nodded. “It’s hot as hell today, and I don’t feel like walkin’ all the way there.” You thought for a moment. “Isn’t there a poke-center in Po town?” He crossed his arms. “I ain’t paying’ shit for that stupid electricity bill those two grunts refuse to pay.” You chuckled a bit. “Yeah, I guess your right.” “Of course I’m right.” He smiled cockily. 

     You pulled out your Roto phone and called for a Charzard. “Do you know how to fly them?” He thought for a moment. “It’s been a hot minute, but I don’t trust myself enough to fly those things.” You nodded. “Makes sense.” He fake scoffed, “the hells that s’posed to mean?!” You held back a giggle. “Look, all I’m saying is that I wouldn’t trust you to fly a charizard either.” You smirked. 

“Ah that’s it.” 

     Before you could act he had his hands around your waist. You froze, and looked up at him. You looked up into his eyes, and the world seemed to slow. He wasn’t looking back at you, but focusing on the hands slipping around your smaller body. He had a mischievous look on his face. You felt like you were floating, like your feet were no longer touching the ground.

Then you realized you weren’t just imagining it.

     He threw you over his shoulder and chuckled roughly to himself. “Hey! Put me down!” You held back a giggle and kicked your legs. He ignored you. “I might have ta do this more often.” You tried to squirm your alway out, he just held onto you tighter. You punched his back softly. “This way you ain’t sassin’ off to me.” 

   After a few minutes the Charizard came into few, flying towards you. He was still holding you over his shoulder when it caught his eye. “Ey, the Charizard is here.” You squirmed again. “Put me down!” “Nope.” “Pleeeaaase!” “Not until you promise ta respect ya boi!” You went limp, and groaned. “But lying is wrong!” “Oh you little-“

     He started to gently poke and prod at your side, which caused you to laugh. “H-hey! O-okay okay I’m sorry!” “Ya damn right ya sorry!” He kept jabbing at your side for a few moments before he finally put you down. You softly punched him in the arm. “Jerk.” You said playfully. 

     When the Charizard landed Guzma helped you hop onto it, sliding onto the saddle. He hopped on behind you. As soon as the Charizard lifted off the ground you felt his arms slipping around your waist. The wind whisked through your hair. You knew it was so he wouldn’t fall off, but you couldn’t help but feel warm when he held you. You didn’t want this moment to end.

    When you landed after what felt like an eternity, Guzma was the first to hop off. He helped you down and the Charizard flew away, after you gave it a poke-bean as gratitude. 

   “Hey.. uh, Lu?” His hands were in his pockets as he looked down at the ground. “Yeah?” “Could you.. heal my Pokémon for me?” You understood why he didn’t want to do it himself. Some stores refused to let him in because he was the Boss of team skull. You nodded, and he carefully handed you his team, and you headed inside. 

    After healing all of Guzma’s Pokémon, and your own, you were about to head back outside. You stopped in your tracks when something caught your eye. It was a small cooler by the door with a small note that read “take one please :)” you opened it to see it was full of frozen treats. You rummaged around, you settled on a fruit popsicle. You headed outside after ripping off the wrapper and sticking it in your pocket. 

    Guzma was leaning against the wall around the corner. You walked over to him and handed him the popsicle. His eyes widened a bit as he took it, along with his Pokémon. “W-woah.” He looked over at you. “You don’t have one.” You shrugged. “The freezer said to only take one, and you won the battle.” He was glad, but looked mildly disappointed. “You coulda just took two.” You shrugged again. “I’m not that type of person.” 

      He took a bite of the popsicle, ripping half of it off and chewing it into pieces in his mouth, seemingly unaffected by the cold. He then handed the rest to you. You didn’t take it at first, but he insisted. “Your a good person Lu. I don’t know why you mess around with a guy like me. Let alone be a part of Team skull. Your a real softie.” 

“Your not as tough as you think Guz.” You looked at him sympathetically.

“How so?” 

You leaned against the wall, next to him. 

“You care.” 

He thought for a moment. “Well, your not as soft as you think.” 

You raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?” 

“Your a real pain in my ass, that’s what!” He smiled and ruffled your hair.

You laughed. 

“Seriously tho, your a force to be reckoned with Softie. I hope you know that.” 

“I hope so too.”

LU Pokemon AU

Wolfie is still a regular wolf. Not a mightyena, an absol, or even a lycanroc, just a plain regular wolf, and it weirds everyone out because no one has ever seen a creature like wolf link. 

Oh and if his team feels split, well that’s intended. Which half suits him better or does the full team represent him well ;DDD

🐶Poipole: Midna, or his memory of her. So Poipole doesn't join Twi's team until the end of tp after the mirror is shattered. I imagine Poipole is born from the remains of the shattered mirror’s dust, suffused with the negative ‘other worldly’ energy of the arbiter's grounds. 

When Twilight hears giggling in the mirror chamber, he doesn’t think much of it. He has spent too many moments since their separation reminiscing about her. Even now, he decides to humour his heartbreak, imagining some lighthearted quip about how far he has fallen for her to stoop to hallucinations. He chuckles at himself and his imaginary conversation with Midna.

🐶Hisuian Typhlosion: in this au ghost types are the only pokemon unaffected by the Twilight. If anything, they already exist between worlds as, well ahem, ghosts. 

There's even that nostalgic weight leaning on his shoulder... Wait... Twi realises he's down bad, but even this is ridiculous! He whips his head over his right shoulder, and there, face to face, is a creature unlike anything he's seen before, wearing an all-too-familiar grin. They zip up and away, hovering nearby with playful curiosity in their eyes, waiting to see his next move. At his bewildered and stunned reaction, they let out that chiming giggle he heard earlier

You don’t have to look far to find where Poipole’s gone. If they aren’t hitching a ride on the back of any of their teammates, then they’re off causing trouble together with Time's mons.

🐶Incineroar: Twi didn’t get a choice when this little litten chose him in the alleys of Castle Town, though as a cat man he doesn't mind this one bit. 

Typhlosion first encountered Twilight when he was miserably lost in the Twilight zone of Death Mountain. Pretending to be one of the wandering souls, unaware of the blanketing twilight, Typhlosion carefully ambled in their direction to get a better look at the strange creature. They could feel a rich and powerful soul within Twilight, and noticed how the twilight both welcomed and repelled it. Even odder was their partner sitting on its back. Typhlosion knew dark energy when they sensed it, and that imp's soul was a pool so dark it threatened to swallow up the light - hrm, now there's an interesting thought.

Just because you don't catch Typhlosion causing trouble doesn't mean they're not as much of a prankster as the others—actually, they're worse. Typhlosion has a knack for roping in carefully selected allies into their mischief. Despite their playful nature, they often go missing, staring out at seemingly nothing. As a ghost type, they're attuned to wandering spirits, and will spend much of their time listening to them and helping them pass on whenever they can.

Incineroars are excellent with children, and you can't change my mind. They're not named the 'Heel Pokemon' for nothing! They love playing with kids, pretending to be the villain to defeat, staging extravagant fights with spectacular victories for the heroes. Twilight's Incineroar is particularly protective of its family. Despite aiding 'The Hero,' they are anything but honourable in battle. They're not afraid to employ unfair tactics, from small actions like throwing sand in their opponents' faces to targeting eyes and joints, even going after the enemies' allies. They are unflinching in the depths they will go to achieve victory. 

🐶Mudsdale: Epona but buffer. Twilight's first companion, Mudbray would happily tackle the world together with all the confidence of an unstoppable 8 year old.

🐶Volcarona: Twilight was given a pokemon egg after restoring Faroe's light. It was terrifyingly cold when Twilight first held it, so chilling that even Midna thought it might be a morbid joke from the light sprite. Despite this, Twilight insisted on keeping the egg. 

With each zone of Twilight lifted from Hyrule, the Light Spirits would bestow a ‘boon’ onto Twilight’s team. Cryptic as always, Twilight had no clue what help he received. Steadily throughout his quest the egg grew warmer, almost scalding by the time the last zone of Twilight was lifted; and upon receiving the final sprites boon the egg hatched. 

Volcarona can be quite aloof. It lives at its own pace, exuding a divine presence that others cannot easily disrupt.

🐶Garchomp: I wanted a brutish pokemon that reflected (heh mirrors) his curse and it was a difficult decision between Garchomp and Kommo O.  

It was nothing short of a miracle that Twilight survived the encounter with Garchomp. The Twilight Blighted Pokemon was already an apex predator in its territory, its strength bolstered by the dark magic of the twilight. Twilight doubted he could defeat them. Forced to sneak around, he found that being a hero seemed to attract unwanted encounters - Garchomp suddenly stomped its foot, shaking the earth violently the ground threatened to topple Twilight, as sharp pillars of earth tore across the terrain toward his hiding spot.

Fight fight fight and somehow Twilight lives, Garchomp faints, dark mass is dispelled and happy happy cat meme goes here.    

Garchomp sometimes loses itself in battle, with adrenaline accidentally triggering a mega evolution that sends it into a rage. The aftermath leaves Garchomp feeling deeply ashamed, as it struggles to accept its own savagery.

Notes: twi’s team gave me the hardest time istg. There were too many mons to try and squeeze in, aaaaahhh a total nightmare: Exhibit A (scrapped idea)

But fr not a single dog in twi's team??? Yea well about that… Have Midna's team:

[Necrozma: The rest of the chain aren't aware he has a sixth pokemon at all. He just tells them he technically counted as one during his quest, satisfied that the lie works.

So nezzie here is a nod to the fused shadow that twi does accept in the manga. I have this idea that he has forced guardianship over the fused shadow, as a punishment, but also his duty as the hero. Twis conflicted regarding nezzie - On the one hand he is comfortable with what it represents but there's a deep fear of shame to admit to others he has formed a bond, though tentative, with nezzie.]

In a dungeon chest Twilight finds a Fire Stone. He gives it to Midna saying how it reminds him of her hair.

If we ever get another PMD with a brand new story, what Pokemon would you choose for hero and partner?

*if ur talkin like, options for people in the game, then i think it'd be ok to limit the number of starters (as much as it'd suck), but I'm not sure how so.

*it'd be fun to do like... a random assortment in the style of like, each pkmn gets a nature like the original but it's random as to which u get?

*Obvi i wouldnt want them to get gender split personally

*anyway maybe like, say brave is charmander, pika, machop, rowlet or something. Game rolls a die when you open up a new game and ur option if u get brave is [drum roll] machop! But if you don't get brave that doesn't rlly matter except for partner choosing bc it's whatever u didn't get personality-wise

*any pkmn that didn't get rolled could even have some significant role in some other way, like maybe another personality type could be assigned to a rival team (a team is assigned brave leader timid partner, and since u rolled machop then they have to roll for a dif one and got pika and cynda)

*for non starter options, i think all the ones from previous are obvi good choices! Otherwise, maybe a couple more pika clones (pawmi, marrill, and emolga could work?); fairy types like flabébé, impidimp, and fidough; a few regional birds like fletchling and rookidee; maybe a bug type like dwebble or sizzlipede (though id be worried about balancing issues for bug types i still want them 🥺 ); zorua (why hasnt zorua been added ... seems silly bc how popular it is); maybe another dragon like noibat, dreepy, or applin (or all 3 lol); lechonk could be cute (like munchlax's inclusion); and i also think rolycoly could be a cool twist one

*out of just starters/the traditional picks, i would want to be charmander for sure, and whatever partner in the list covers charmanders weaknesses! (Mudkip mostly lol), but out of this entire list I'd be happy with most of em?

*if it was like gates and only the newest gen could be picked id choose fuecoco, if the last 3 gens were picked, I'd have a hard time deciding between litten and fuecoco (probs litten)

*i wish i had more time to sit and balance the list i made, bc on the surface i think i chose a good variety but also i probs am biased bc i love fire and dragon but then also i like little pathetic ones too so it's probs all over the place hehe.

I need you guys to understand how much it hurts to not pick Arcanine, Honchkrow and Primarina ( one of my all time favorite starter, if not the all time fav next to Eevee). I was honestly surprised by my choice to not pick Honchkrow again but I think I didn't want so many dark types on Leo's team. That's more so Suraya's thing ( well. Dark and ghost but ya know). BUT DON'T WORRY I LOVE IT TOO MUCH TO GET RID OF IT COMPLETELY. It's probably gonna be an extra mon( which there are several)

My thought process with concept:

Serperior - Starter. This was the case waaaay before I realized Leo is a cat person though. And even then, I still think Serperior fits Leo really well! Something something the Snivy line needing the sun to live, Leo being represented by the sun, you get it.

Espeon - Equally as important as Serperior if not THE important member of Leo's team for plot reasons ( guy has a really bad psychic panic attack, Eevee evolved to help him through it). Also, again, the sun.

Starmie - Was actually a pokemon that was in Leo's first playthrough but I didn't really use properly. I think it matches with the solar theme that Leo has ( sun, stars, you get it). Also another psychic type. Usually I hate repeat types, but I think it fits here.

Incineroar - Like I said. Leo is a cat person. He has a whole box worth of cat pokemon( and cat like pokemon). I felt like it would be a disservice to his love for cats to have just one cat on his main team so. Yeah. And I feel like Incineroar combined what Arcanine and Honchkrow brought to the table at once? Also just the difference between Espeon 's relationship with Leo and Incineroar's could be soooooo funny. The downside is that litten comes pretty late in the game, and I'm not willing to change Leo's starter so. Yeah.

Florges - ......I wanted a pokemon that can learn moonblast that wasn't Primarina ( hi starlight arena) Florges is also from Kalos, where Leo is from so. Sure? I guess? I think it does kinda fit the Sun/Day theme of Leo so. Sure.

Garchomp - This thing is a beast man. I can't resist raw power okay. It fits Leo's play style too.

Incineroar and Florges kinda slow ( though I am surprised that Florges is faster than Primarina), but it still kinda fits the fast and lose play style Leo has, I think. Plus, I like incineroar actually, I think it's a really fun pokemon to use and Florges.....I actually don't think I ever used a Florges for a main playthrough. I have an oc that uses one ( Hi Flynn!) but bc she's not the main protag, so I don't get to use it much. Who knows, maybe it'll be more of a fit that I thought.

And uh. Yeah. Leo has more pokemon than what's shown, cause I like ✨variety✨. This is just The Main 6 concept.

Honestly, I just kinda wanna hear you talk about this Pokémon line. I’m really interested to hear why you love it so much. I don’t really think about this line too much, and honestly, would not have attributed this line to you first try.

I just like the metallic /object ones, my other favorite Pokemons include the chandelure evolution set, magneto/magneton, etc. my other favorite pokemon are usually water pokemon starters that I can never remember the name of since I always rename my starters and then forget THOSE names, whooper because no shit, ghost types because no shit have you seen my Tumblr page, and ditto when I was 7 because who didn't like ditto when they were a little kid. Also mimikyu because I'm basic I have a build a bear mimikyu and her name is hamburger. All of them are my favorites since I can't really choose, I also have some favorite pokemon cards but my mom has my collection since they're in our animal crossing amiibo card holder and she's playing totk rn, but I know I have like 3 copies of chandelure and my favorite card is a shiny lady trainer card, ill put a picture at the bottom of her

3. The design is cool and fun and the colors are pleasing and it's easy to understand. Any large pokemon [watching the anime episode of gyrados KILLED ME when I was a kid] or ones with bright colors really hurt my eyes or confuse me, probably because of my astigmatism/shit eyesight, but all of my favorites have muted colors, are small, or have a large amount of black or white [litten and gangar are good examples]. I also just tend to not like fully evolved Pokemon, in my rarely played Pokemon yellow and Pokemon Violet files none of my Pokemon are evolved and I only ever catch copies of Pokemon for the evolution on the pokedex and then release them.

But yeah as far as I'm aware, most of my favorite pokemon are absolute shit strategy and moveset wise, ESPECIALLY because I refuse to evolve them <3

This isn't MY card, I got this off of Google but it's the same card, i also have a version of her that's not shiny and i have a kind of old shiny pikachu with special art but i cant be bothered to find it since theres like 50 pikachu cards. I don't collect Pokemon cards, don't know anything about it but people just keep giving me pokemon card packs so I have quite a few special arts/shinies. No holos I think tho

Dew (fire)

so dew was 1 of the 2 that started this, and i think it sets the mood for the whole post

fennekin: both sphy and i would die for fennec fox dew, it’s only natural that dew would be fennekin. this one has superb nicknameability too

litten: there isn’t much specific reasoning for litten, but just look at the little dude. that’s dew

alolan marowak/cubone: if alolan cubone actually existed it would be perfect for dew, but alas. but in the end, both cubone and marowak fit dew pretty well so they’re both here

Dew (water)

seadra: a tiny angry seahorse? if that’s not era 3 dew idk what is

dewgong: dewgong is more specifically for the nickname since it has dew in the name, but honestly the guy’s growing on me. definitely a certain time and place where dewgong would apply, but i can see it

Rain

so i said that dew was 1 of the 2 to start this whole thing but really rain was the first

oshawott: and by rain was the first, really i mean that comparing rain to oshawott was what caused this. look at him. he and rain are one in the same. change my mind

vaporeon: rain’s frilly sleeves. water themed puppy. that’s all the explanation you need

polliwag: also more specifically a nickname, but this one hasn’t really gone past a nickname. If you aren’t convinced that polliwag is a banging nickname though, just imagine someone calling rain polliwag with the utmost affection in their voice. that’s what really drew me in

Mountain

also an earlier one, aka the only ghoul besides dew and rain that an assignment came naturally rather than me scouring the pokedex, mountain’s pokemon honestly appeal to the 2 headcanons for him (deer-like and goat-like) that i’ve seen the most

sawsbuck: so the headcanon that mountain grows different plants near his horns depending on his mood/emotion or based on if someone says a plant name has been going around a lot and sawsbuck being able to change antler decorations matches that so well. i love sawsbuck for mountain

gogoat: i mean come on. i couldn’t resist with the name. plus gogoat fits mountain visually so well? it was made for him.

Aether

i’m not gonna lie, aether was a hard one. i looked through the entire pokedex and couldn’t find one that REALLY spoke to me. but i thought about it and thought of a pretty good fit, imo

greavard: i had to think if greavard really fit for a second but with the reasoning i came to i honestly think it fits pretty well. aether’s a big, scary looking dude with a terrifying power, but he’s the biggest gentle giant ever. just like the giant ghost dog that follows you around for love and also maybe possibly sucks the life out of you

nidorino: so i originally had nidorino for omega but then i read something where omega mentored aether and taught him everything he knows, so aether got nidorino and omega, well, you can probably guess. you’ll see him in a second anyway

Swiss

trying to work out what area of pokemon i wanted to do for the multi ghouls took a minute. i wanted something that reflected a combination of elements, but also that fit their personalities, but i think i got it narrowed down pretty well

tauros: tauros is also one that doesn’t have much explanation. i just looked at it and went “yeah, that’s swiss”

luxray: so when i was thinking elementally about what types the multi ghouls would be, i figured electric went really well. it’s got the heat and burn of fire, the impetus of a storm, and natural electric currents from the ground and everything. so then i got to the big, confident, electricity cat and i mean. that fits swiss quite well

sandile: there was a little voice in the back of my head telling me that sandile is swiss. i tried ignoring it because it doesn’t really have the grandiose-ness that swiss has but in the end the voice won out. i have no reasoning. he just is

Cirrus

idk man, articuno just has very confident vibes to me and cirrus is a very confident person. they just match

Cumulus

i had 2 very different ideas for cumulus and had to let both be shown

dragonair: cumulus is very elegant and ethereal, and i feel like dragonair embodies that pretty well

wooloo: so @/thelampisaflashlight (idk if they would want to be tagged) has the concept of the ghouls having imps/imp forms, and cumulus’s is just a giant sheep-like thing. call it divine inspiration if you’d like

Sunshine

sunshine was honestly the easiest of the ghoulettes for me to pair. i already had the electric type thing established, then everything else just came naturally

mareep: like i said, i think electric types fit multi ghouls, so at this point it was just finding one that fit for sunshine’s personality. so she gets the tiny sheep. just look at it, it’s adorable

lillipup: this one from the start was both a she is lillipup and lillipup makes a fantastic nickname. yet another one with little explanation, lillipup just fits sunshine

Omega

so i said that omega was initially nidorino, but i ended up shifting it to where omega is nidoking. i think it’s a really neat parallel for omega to have the bigger/evolved version of aether’s pokemon if we’re following the mentor idea

Ifrit

i didn’t even realize until making the pictures to put each ghoul’s pokemon together, ifrit’s are all cats. really speaks to how he acts on stage

growlithe: ifrit has this kind of innocent feel about him, and i’ve seen him portrayed as more of a teenager for ghouls a lot. and growlithe is a young, innocent, bold little guy

pyroar: speaking more to the showiness of ifrit, pyroar is intense and has a tinge of flamboyance, like ifrit

torracat: i also didn’t realize until putting the pictures together that i gave ifrit the pokemon that one of dew’s evolves into. i initially gave ifrit torracat just because it seemed right, but the symbolism in that coincidence and their line of succession? borderline poetic

Alpha

i wish i had more to say reasoning wise, but houndoom is another “he just is.” both alpha and houndoom have a big presence, they’re threatening, it just makes sense

Mist

yet another it just makes sense, glaceon just IS mist. they’re small but have a lot of power and sass. i love them

An Odd Reunion

Since yesterday I’ve been messing around at playing with Master Detective Archives:Rain Code.Detecting a few familiar tones in some of the characters I decided to see what’s been shared about the casting choices so far and got some fairly surprising connections.

Starting it off is Yuma

 I could have easily accepted at being Eiji Kakihana from Odd Taxi but scrolling a bit further I found a more “ideal” choice of why he sounded familiar and it wasn’t from playing one of the rivals in a Pokemon mini-series...

(As for who to give credit for these mentions it’s Lucien Dodge,so now I have a name and character to link if I ever cross by in any future works he happened to be casted for)

My next most major “I think I know this voice” was Pucci Lavmin

And in the grand scheme she was very recent for my experiences.Her English voice is Lindsay Sheppard and I guess until further notice she’s mainly immortalized to me as Sumire.

But Yuria is a rather close second in what I can say must have been my “true” introduction to her casting choices

Following this comes Melami Goldmine

Voiced by Lauren Landa we return to Odd Taxi as she’s the only alpaca around

Finally to end this off is something not exactly out yet but I have now gotten a mix of surprise and confusion from what seems to be known.Shinigami is a crazy little take on the Death God formula but I guess she’s become who I first think of for Anjali Kunapaneni and I’m not quite sure how to feel about that since she’s apparently also going to be Roy when the dub of Pokemon Horizons starts rolling out.Lemon Irvine from Mashle isn’t event standing a chance against a character who says lines like this.

Similar to what I said with Sheppard this is something of a sample versus the main course.But seeing some cast of Pokemon’s latest mainline anime on the English scene has been shared I also got some rather “rewarding” news from my little hunt.

The sub and dub both have a major casting choice perk...Unless nothing ends up changing but there’s still a chance Sprigatito is Megumi Hayashibara aka Lina Inverse while Friede’s going to be Zelgadis.Lisa Ortiz already took over as Litten...If they decide the cat’s cries must change I have my preference of who should be put on the spot...

So, Here's My Pokemon And How I Met Them.

-I First started my Journey at 14, but i received a Litten from Prof. Carver, the same jerk that signed me up into his travels to Paldea as his Assistant, when I was Ten, due to the two ages being different, for a starter pokemon, and traveling on a journey.

-Marshall, my now Incineroar, is a mighty fella, and kinda flamboyant, but he's mostly stoick and calm, he really took after me, some times I'm unreadable with a resting b-face and people think I'm upset, other times I'm kinda hyper and restless, Marshall took that up as well.

-My Turtonator, Gamala(at grandpa's, went looking for a turtle pokemon due to Turtle fixation, found a Turtonator that was released by a trainer, struggling to get up after a fight with local water types, shes mostly just there, observing, sitting, and anticipating i think)

-Picto the Smeargle(had a fixation on being a Artist, and happened to run into a Smeargle painting on the back wall of a restaurant. IT. HAD. LEGENDARY. ATTACKS, SECRET SWORD AND SPACIAL REND, AND EVEN INFERNAL PARADE, AND THAT AN EXTINCT MOVE FROM AN EXTINCT REGIONAL VARIANT! No clue how, no clue why, sketch metronome tactics? saw the legendarys in question? He's also a smug little guy, ticks me off at times with how he behaves)

-Fuuma the shiny Ninjask(Nincada outbreak, Ninjask kept messing with me, accidently flung a Luxury ball at one, a shiny, no less. He's a stinker if I've ever known on, always messes with something, I've have berry's launched at from dive bombs more times then I can count)

-Sami the shiny Purrloin(went to find a wild cat pokemon due to liking cats, found a rather Troublesome Purrloin, a shiny that was causing a mess with local dog pokemon, did not end well, two weeks in the pokemon center, lifesaving treatments. was grateful, but begrudgingly, changed her tune when she was given free housing, food, water, and a warm spot to sleep, broke down crying, given a Friend ball. Really Tsundere if I've ever known one)

-Varian the Sylveon(one of dads Jolteon's kids, very troublemaking, gets very aggressive and sadistic in battle, will disable an opponent swiftly and mercilessly, but demanding of attention, he's an attention hog, and I'm pretty sure its not because he's lonely)

-Hyde the Hydreigon(due to a previous incident that involved a pokemon hunter and Rayquaza, one of the Hunters Pokemon was accidently freed when it pokeball broke, and ran wild for a bit, quickly disabled it with Varian, and caught it in a spare Friend ball after helping Rayquaza by using my Dad's Keystone to help it mega evolve. It has calmed down, as much as a Hydreigon can be calm, but he behaves, mostly when Sylveon is keeping an eye on him. he was most likely Competitively bred from what I can tell. Though he had to go through some body therapy due to be drugged, along with the Hunters other pokemon, so they could even fight Rayquaza. He tries to not show affection, even snarls when I try petting him, but he's never actually attacked, even when I continue petting, he'll just stare at me until he starts to fall asleep.)

I caught everyone besides Hyde before I even set out on my journey. They've all been great companions and family. I am now 22, and am being forced to act as Prof. Carver's assistant because he thinks I'll do great as a Professor one day. I didn't even finish my Gym Circuit in Unova, I only collected 5 badges before I got bored and started exploring, before heading home.
