Just in time for the holidays, I bring you something special today— the long-awaited ninth installment of my Lovers of Aether incorrect quote series! Seeing as I've started to dip my paws back into the Aether franchise, I thought that it would be a well enough time to concoct another set of ten incorrect quotes starring all your favorites.

And it doesn't stop there; this is the first installment to be fully equipped with image IDs! I'm hoping to go back and write IDs for the previous eight parts sometime soon, but for now, consider this a treat for anyone that uses a screen reader! 💙✨

I wasn’t feeling her usual part, and actually didn’t even try it, i at least kept the headband which the ears are on but the red hair just kind of made me think of kim possible and i really wanted to do something different color wise. First i tried all black, even a teal option before i settled for a calico look.

This was way back when Duchesse was actually designed so over a couple years by now i think, it was just a rough draft that ended up going no where because im bad with making comics, i dont have the steam for them 

This was a point where i wanted Duchesse to take more accountability for her actions and recognize that there is more to relationships than just “permissiveness” and money [aka her daddy gives her attention with gifts and as a way of sorry for ignoring you]

Yùtù (AKA Rabbit!Sabine)! The rabbit miraculous has been handed down in Marinette's family for generations (through her mothers side). Master Fu is a family friend, and eventually, Sabine agrees to have her daughter train to be the new guardian, ready to take Master Fu's place once he's finished- under one condition- she gets to be involved. Sabine is a mother bear, through and through.

Why do I feel like she'd be so overwhelmed by the Empathy of the Butterfly due to barely understanding her own emotions that she'd mentally break momentarily. Just suddenly being overwhelmed by the emotions of hundreds of other people around you, crushing, forcing you to comprehend emotions you've never felt, oh and the various combinations of emotions.

I remember hearing that, when you were still writing your Scarlet Lady AU, you were considering having Chloé steal the Butterfly Miraculous and become the series' new antagonist after Hawk Moth's defeat. Is this true? And if so, what kind of villain would Chloé have been? Did you have any new ideas about how to write her after watching Miraculous season 6? Would she have been like Chrysalis? Chloé isn't as intelligent as Lila, so I imagine her strategies would be much simpler. Do you have a Villan Name for this version of Chloé?

Um, no, I never once considered having Chloe get the Butterfly (I considered NATHALIE getting it instead of the Peacock). Chloe would make a horrible butterfly, she wouldn't be able to relate to anyone emotionally and would be absolutely useless at emotionally manipulating them into doing her bidding. She'd probably have every akuma turn on her at one point, it would be a total disaster for her.

it is my birthday so it is indulgent au hour. this started with a request on patreon and got out of hand oops

more info below the cut:

-Fu tried giving the Ladybug Miraculous to Marinette but, when she helped him on the street, she insisted on helping him all the way home (she was just straight up going to ditch going to school and used him as an excuse)

-due to her uncanny clumsiness and absolutely horrible bad luck, she ended up knocking the unlocked miracle box down and in a rush, Fu passed her the wrong miraculous (oops!)

-Trixx tried explaining the situation to her but she wanted nothing to do with Hawkmoth and decided to just keep Trixx. When Fu came back for the necklace, Marinette (with a taste of freedom Jekyll and Hyde style) threatened to reveal his identity and his home to Hawkmoth if he tried to take Trixx from her

-Fu can still sense righteousness within her and allowed it. Alya and Nino are the holders for the Ladybug and Black Cat miraculous as a result

- Alya as Scarabella has two goals: take down Hawkmoth and reclaim the Fox miraculous

- the issue is Kitclown is really funny and charming and watching bad things happen to bad people is super great and she always falters last second lol

What's Lila up to in you Kitclown AU? I imagine she has no cause to bother Mari.

she certainly doesn't! Mari is on the same clique level as Juleka and Rose, and she just listens aptly to all of Lila's lies with a little :3c the whole time.

however, when Volpina appears...

Kitclown thinks Volpina's antics are adorable and stupid, so she doesn't interfere. Lila's feelings are... something else lmfao

Had a thought... Emilie got sick from the overuse of a broken miraculous, which (in my theory) is what tethers the Kwami to the world in a more physical form, not their god forms. I think Marinette is showing similar symptoms to Em not from overuse, but over exposure to pure miraculous magic, which is bad for humans. (like how Zeus killed one of his lovers by showing her his divine form) maybe the only way for her to start getting better is to find Imago a vessel so his big magic juju has somewhere to go? Or I'm just looking waaay to into things instead of doing homework? anyways, glad to hear you're doing better, you're doing amazing things!

Marvel x DC Prompt: Spiderman & Signal, the Metas of Gotham

Premise:

No one remembers Peter Parker. Not MJ. Not May. Not the Avengers. Not even his universe. The spell worked too well. Some cosmic hiccup tossed him through the multiverse, and he wakes up alone in Gotham—unregistered, undocumented, and unknown.

He sleeps in the attic of the Gotham Public Library, files for a scholarship to Gotham Academy under a fake name, and quietly starts to starve because his metabolism is still Spider-tier and Gotham doesn’t exactly hand out friendly neighborhood mutant-level meal plans.

But Peter’s still Peter. He doesn’t give up. Gotham’s terrifying, but it still needs help.

So he becomes a Daylight Hero.

He helps old ladies cross the street. Gets cats out of trees. Walks kids home from school. Stops purse snatchers. Prevents traffic accidents. Keeps pigeons from stealing sandwiches. People start whispering about the "Spider-Guy" who only comes out in the day—bright, bouncy, absurdly polite, and very confused about Gotham’s local cryptids.

He tries to avoid Bat-territory, but sometimes trouble doesn’t wait for nightfall.

That’s how he meets Signal.

Enter Duke Thomas:

Duke is tired. The only metahuman Bat. The only daylight Bat. It’s lonely work, being the one light in a city of shadows.

When he meets the spider-themed weirdo patrolling rooftops in the middle of the day—cracking jokes, webbing up muggers, and somehow still smiling—he’s cautious. Gotham has never been kind to metas.

But Peter is genuine. Kind. A little jittery. And clearly not doing great.

Developing Bond:

Duke catches Peter sneaking into Gotham Academy’s lab one evening to brew web fluid. At first, he thinks it’s suspicious—until he sees the battered backpack, the scavenged supplies, and the tremble in Peter’s fingers.

Later, it’s Tim who spots him passed out from hunger in the corner of the school’s chemistry wing.

Peter is too proud to ask for help. He shrugs off the dizzy spells, the shaking hands, the gnawing ache in his stomach. But Duke notices. Duke cares.

He starts bringing extra food. Offers takeout without pressure. Hangs out on rooftops under the sun.

Bit by bit, Peter lets him in.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Bats start to take notice—and get predictably paranoid. A meta hero with unknown origins, hiding in Gotham? It doesn’t sit well. Questions are asked. Files are pulled. Surveillance is set.

But Duke defends him. Stands by him. And Peter… feels conflicted.

Their rooftop meetings become regular. They start patrolling as a team. Peter just knows it's all going to go to shit. That's Peter Parker luck. It's a matter of when, not if.

Summary: Peter wakes up in a dark alleyway in nothing but torn and bloodied boxers with no memories and no clue what to do. Covered in scars and suffering horrific nightmares that may or may not be memories, no one will even consider hiring him, much less housing him. No one legal anyway, and that is how Harley Quinn’s crew gained a baby spider.

Prologue preview:

Numb, that is what Peter felt when his body began to wake for what felt like the millionth agonizing time. Suffocating silence and stillness surrounded him, his muscles locked in place, paralyzed and unable to move. He was floating in a vat of goop, something he had become familiar with over the past…. he didn’t know how long he’d been here. He just knew that each time he woke, fear would pulse through his veins, and his mind would be driven mad with panic and sheer terror. For each time he woke in the putrid green waters of the machine, he’d be dragged out and strapped down, to be pricked, prodded, and sliced before being dropped back in and knocked out again.

Though it took much longer than usual, by the time his eyes began to blink open, he was filled with confusion from the lack of dark gloved hands reaching to snag him before he regained mobility and the chance to fight back. Something was off… it was then his heightened sense of hearing caught the faintest sounds of loud thuds and blaring alarms. Vibrations would shake the machine he floated in, though try as he might all he was ever able to see though the thick, green liquid was faint obscured shapes and shadows. He waited a bit longer… breathing though a metal mask that covered his nose and mouth, connected to the machine trough a tube that supplied him oxygen. Still no one came… he began to realize that whatever was going on, it was distracting the white coated wardens that kept him in this hellish place. It was his chance to get out….
