Who is your favorite character in 2? 

Carl Wheezer!!! My boy!!! Most people either love or hate Carl and Sheen but they were the best part of the show for me. I like how he’s kinda the nerdy trope but actually not (he’s really dumb). The voice acting for him is A+, the gags with him are my FAVORITE (“that’s not mine...” “that’s not me”). God I love him

who is your least favorite character in 1? 

Oh god there’s so many characters in Pokémon. I didn’t really like Paul much. He’s a good character/rival and serves his purpose in the show but uh yeah didn’t really like him.

what is your favorite episode of 4? 

THERE’S TOO MANY GOOD SU EPISODES!! The one I go to the most though is Rose’s Scabbard. Such a beautifully sad episode where we learn about Pearl’s relationship with Rose. Plus UGH the music at the end makes me cry every time.

what is your favorite season of 5? 

Season 4 for SURE. Season 4 is when I jumped into MLP (yeah after the alicorn stuff). That felt like peak MLP to me. They hit their stride with the writing, the characters were well established but there were new challenges they had to face with Twilight being a princess and all (plus it was before the started catering more to their male audience). It’s also just very nostalgic for me being that it was the first season I kinda watched while being in the fandom.

who is your favorite couple in 3? 

Ooof hmm. TAWoG doesn’t reaaaally focus on ships all that much. I thoroughly enjoy Gumball and Penny’s relationship, and Carrie and Darwin are cute as hell. But I think I gotta Go with Nicole and Richard, especially after watching “The Choices”. I hate when shows portray marriages as awful and like the worst possible scenario. They make jokes about it but Nicole and Richard genuinely care for each other. I always think about the part in “The Fury” when Nicole is sad but Richard cheers her up in his own goofy way. So cute ;0;

what is your favorite episode of 1? 

I,,, have watched,,, Pokemon XY63 so many times you would not believe.  It’s a Jessie episode (obviously). Seeing her fall for this doctor and do a complete 180 in character was so funny but also gives insight into how desperately she just wants domesticity and to be loved. Seeing James and Meowth be supportive of her choice and letting her go hurts so gooood and the little sprinkled in “twerps offering to help jessie plan her wedding” was wholesome. 

I know I can only pick one but HHHHHH SAYONARA DOKUCALE MESSED ME UP. It was one of the first Pokémon episodes I had ever seen and I distinctly remember watching it in my Uncle and Aunt’s living room and SOBBING. Jessie backstory, a twerp truce AND a bitter sweet ending. GOOD STUUUUFFF

what is your favorite episode of 5? 

I always come back to Rarity Takes Manehattan (rarity’s my favorite fyi haha). I love love loved the songs, Suri Polomare for no reason is so funny to me LMAOOO. Rarity episodes where she has a creative breakdown, which is most of them, are super relatable haha. There was so much fun Tabitha St Germain acting and great animation. It’s not the most well written episode of MLP but I still very much enjoy it.

what is your favorite season of 2? 

This is really difficult bc Jimmy Neutron is just so consistent all the way through. I looked at a list of episodes and most of my favorites are in S2 so I guess that one! I remember watching a lot of these with my brother.

how long have you watched 1?

I’d seen episodes of Pokémon since like the early 2000s but didn’t start watching regularly until DP when me and my brother finally convinced our parents to let us watch it. I feel like we got into it around 2007/2008?

how did you become interested in 3? 

Oh god everything about it interested me! Gumball came out RIGHT when I was starting to seriously pursue animation as a career. So, the animation/mishmash of animation styles initially hooked me right away. But then the WRITING. Oh the WRITING is what kept me coming back. It was so smart and snappy and it greatly shaped my sense of humor.

who is your favorite actor in 4? 

SUSAN EGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!! Literally the whole cast is incredible but Susan Egan’s voice is just,,,, WHEW!!!

which do you prefer: 1, 2, or 5?

This is the hardest question I’ve ever had to answer. I love each of these shows for such different reasons. But if I were put in a scenario where someone said “i’m gonna show you a random episode from one of these shows, which do you wanna watch?” I would pick Jimmy Neutron hands down.

if you could be anyone from 4, who would it be? 

I would be Sapphire I think. Just like vibing w my wife as a fusion sounds p dope.

would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? 

Well 4 did a crossover with Uncle Grandpa so yes absolutely. Plus Gumball is so meta anyways, it would work with generally anything.

pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple?

overall, which show has the best storyline: 3 or 5?

MLP for sure! Gumball is super episodic and started having continuity by the later seasons (and the storyline they were gonna have got CANCELLED so!!!!)

which has better theme music: 2 or 4? 

Jimmy Neutron is a classic but the fact that there is a full theme for SU and it made me cry when it was released at ComicCon is making me want to say SU lol.

The Joker x Reader - “Trapped” Part 4

Almost one year ago, someone tried to kill The Joker in a speeding car and Y/N pushed him out of the way, getting hit instead. With a fractured skull and broken bones, she was out of business for 6 months; when she finally recovered, The Queen of Gotham wasn’t the same anymore. Trapped inside her own mind and exhibiting severe cognitive impairment, Y/N’s life switched upside down without any hope of ever returning to normal.

Next Morning

“We’re done here, OK?” The Joker shouts and you stomp away, furious at his behavior.

“Of course we are done, who the hell would put up with you?!! You’re horrible!!!”

“It finally clicked? Good!!!! Come on, speed it up and disappear!!!!” he points at the top of the hill where your car is parked.

You walk faster and J is increasingly frustrated with each step you take.

“So what you said was a lie?!” he yells before he can stop himself. “You assured me I’ll get used with being loved and here you are running from me! Hypocrite! Who’s the liar now, huh?”

You turn around, stunned.

How dare he twist your most intimate confessions in such a manner?

Y/N and The Joker glare at each other for a few moments before you voice all the bitterness and resentment building up in your heart loud enough for him to hear:

“I hate you!”

“Oh yeah?” he smirks. “Perfect! I’m used to it!”

You reprise your stroll, determined not to fall into his little traps anymore: this time is over and you have to put as much distance in between the two of you in the next few seconds before he attempts one of his tricks.

Not that you would fall for it again, but you never know…

One last glare while you try to open the car door and you see him flair his arms around loudly screaming at his phone; your fingers keep missing the lock and you kick the metal frame, irritated. Another glance and you spot a vehicle driving in the parking lane towards where The Joker is.

“J?...” you hesitantly call out to him yet The Joker probably has the earbuds in so he can’t hear you. “J!!!” you wave to get his attention without success. “Oh my God!” you rush back in his direction when you realize that SUV will hit him if it continues the present trajectory. “J!!! J!!!!”

The King is too absorbed in his business conversation thus he finally sees Y/N next to him as she violently pushes him out of harm’s way.

The strong impact wakes you up and you gasp for air, panicked. Your troubled mind has difficulty catching up with reality: a damaged brain can’t possibly render any type of comfort in this situation.

“Why are you crying?” J mumbles half asleep. “Did you have a bad dream?”

You seem confused and unresponsive to his questions, no other choice besides waking up to check on you.

“Calm down. You had a nightmare, ok?” he pulls the agitated Y/N in his arms. “ Hey, it’s me!”

You whimper at the pain paralyzing your body and don’t complain when he drags you on top of him; it actually feels soothing having someone close that understands what’s happening to you.

“Don’t hold me so tight, I can’t breathe,” J pecks your forehead where the blood clot pressing on your frontal lobe should be. “Better?” he asks a tearful girlfriend that ultimately begins to understand she wasn’t hit by a car minutes ago: it’s an ordeal she already went through months ago despite the aftermath of the accident still creating problems. “Such an early bird,” The Clown yawns since he won’t be able to doze off after your episode. “Only 7 am Princess…” the grumbled noises make you receptive to his complaint. “What about you give me some sugar in exchange for my services?” J suggests, quite puzzled when you roll off him and stumble out of the bedroom. “Where are you going?!”

You don’t answer because you’re concentrating just on what your neurons were able to translate in such a short notice: your man wants sugar. That’s why you’re in a big hurry to bring him a bag containing the sweet product, happily offering the item to his majesty The King of Gotham.

“For God’s sake, Pumpkin!” he accepts the gift nevertheless and places it on the covers. “That’s not what I meant,” he snatches Y/N in his arms and kisses her.

“No…sugar?...” you inquire out of genuine curiosity.

“I already got it,” he mischievously smirks at your bafflement, deciding to exercise your skills at once. “Say Princess: if I give you two kisses and then I give you two more, how many kisses do you get?”

“Ummm…” you debate on the question,”… not enough?”

“Due to your high standards, certainly,” The Joker huffs at the genuine reply. “Your solution is not wrong, but I’m looking for a number. Two plus two? Come on, you already know this one!”

“Mmmm… Four?...” you blur out and get groped as reward.

“Good girl!” J proudly applauds your abilities at crack of dawn. “Enough algebra for this morning,” he changes topic. “Your doctor appointment is at 10; you should take a shower soon,” and he rambles on until something is clear: the blank expression on your face hints at the outcome.

“You’re not listening, are you?” he suspiciously inquires.

“No.”

Why would you? Your brain’s self-defense mechanism prevailed at all the information flooding your deteriorated synapses and the result was blocking the outpour of sentences.

“That was a 10 minutes speech, Pumpkin!” The Joker grouchily admonishes the carefree Y/N.

“11,” you gesture at the clock on the wall.

“11 what?”

“11 minutes, not 10,” you nonchalantly conclude.

“Oh, so you have the audacity to time me while you don’t bother keeping up?!”

“Yes,” you giggle and hide your face under the pillow.

“That’s preposterous!”

“Hm?...” your nose emerges from under the cushion at the fascinating word you can’t recollect being in your current vocabulary.

“Preposterous, Princess!” J repeats.”… Stop laughing, would you?” he forcefully hijacks your pillow and you snicker because whatever-the-heck- it-means Preposterous Princess sounds like a hilarious nickname. “You wanna play games?” The Clown Prince of Crime sucks on his silver teeth willing to bring a final showdown to this magical day. “Fine, remember you made me with your abominable behavior!” he reaches for the nightstand in order to grab his favorite deck of cards. “Pick a card, any card; I won’t peak,” J watches the captivated woman pluck her choice from the mound. “Now put it in the stack,” he urges and you follow the instructions.

The Joker vigorously shuffles the cards then searches for yours.

“Is this it?” he triumphantly flicks the Joker card out of the bunch.

You nod a yes completely smitten he guessed again and your terrible half steals a kiss, triumphantly growling to himself:

“Who’s  laughing now, huh?”

After Your Doctor’s Appointment

J slides the screen on his phone and before he can utter anything you announce:

“Hi, this is Pre… Pro… Mmm… W-wait,” you stammer and gather your thoughts. “This is Preposterous Princess.”

The Joker sighs, definitely unamused at your 5th call in a row to tell him what’s going on at your routine consultation: he barely finished counting the ammo boxes he received with the shipment after you left and going over the heist scheme for next week it’s made impossible by Y/N.

“Pumpkin, I will remind you that’s not what I meant when I said that word. It was Preposterous COMA Princess!! Two separate entities, alright? We need to have a serious discussion after you get home.”

“I have to go, Pro… Ummm… Preposterous Princess is at…at the gates,” you say it very fast and hang up, excited to share news with him.

Yet The Clown is already acquainted with the whole development on your condition: the doctor’s office contacted him after your departure in order to brief him on Y/N health. The blood clot is a bit smaller since it keeps reabsorbing; the cognitive issues are there, tests ended up pretty much within normal range except one, thus it’s necessary for the two of you to have the dialogue he mentioned about.

Five more minutes and you barge in his office holding your yellow teddy bear and for the first time in his life The Joker can’t help regretting he’s about to burst someone’s bubble.

You approach the desk and set the ultrasound picture in front of him waiting for his reaction; your bright smile doesn’t go well with how gloomy he appears, literally an understatement anyway.

“Baby,” you tap the image just in case he didn’t realize what he’s staring at.

“I know, Pumpkin. We can’t keep it.”

“Hm…?” your smile gradually dies out as you comprehend he’s not on the same page with your wishes.

“We can’t keep the baby, it’s very dangerous given you merely survived a severe trauma. I was told it’s nearly impossible for you to have kids, that’s why I didn’t use… Anyway… I admit this one’s on me and the conclusion is… … we can’t keep the baby.”

“No baby?” you sniffle.

“Nope, it would be too harsh on your body. Plus, you won’t be able to use your anti-inflammatory medication if you’re pregnant.”

“I want baby!”

“Are you deaf??!” J slams the desk with his fist, annoyed. “You can’t have a child, it could kill you. Do you want to perish?!” he rises from his chair.

“No… I want you and baby.”

“No way in hell!” he snarls at your defiance.

“Why can’t I h-have baby? Because… because I’m stupid?” you cuddle with your plush toy, heartbroken at his approach.

“You’re not stupid, but I’m beginning to have doubts if what I told you doesn’t make sense!”

“I want baby!” you whisper on the verge of crying.

“I want baby,” The Joker mocks and watches your demeanor change: it doesn’t take a genius to detangle the mystery of how hurt you seem.

“Are…are you making fun of me?!”

The King is a jerk, no doubt about it. Despite his obvious flaws he never ridiculed someone’s disability; it’s simply beneath him. One could say this is a new low for him and he cannot erase it: Y/N’s cognitive impairment is clearly sacred ground he trespassed on a whim when he shouldn’t have.

“If…if you were like me… I wouldn’t laugh at… at you,” you wipe your tears, sobbing. “I’m not smart… anymore but I can m-make decisions, ok? I want baby!”

“I said no!” J yells, fired up you won’t listen to reason.

“I don… I don’t care!” you storm out of the office and trip on the carpet, almost falling to the ground. “It’s my baby!”

“It’s mine also unless you have another boyfriend!!”

You’ve been gone for the last hour; it’s a big place yet it shouldn’t be so difficult to find one’s partner.

The Joker dials your number and inquires as soon as you blow your nose on the other side of the line.

“Is this The Preposterous Princess?”

Dead air again; Y/N isn’t in the mood to speak to the man she can’t forgive for his transgression. In addition to him disregarding her intention of keeping the offspring, he made her feel dumb and that’s unforgivable.

“Y/N, where are you?!” J descends the steps leading to the basement, the last area he didn’t searched for his missing woman. He opens the boiler room, nothing. The pantry reveals zero clues either. The janitorial supplies closet is a different story; a box of sponges flies by his ear, immediately accompanied by a hateful tone:

“Go away!”

“You almost broke my nose,” he over exaggerates. “What are you doing here anyway? I’ve been looking all over the house!” “I’m hiding baby from you,” you clearly enunciate without stammering.

“Give me a break,” he drops on his knees in front of you. “I don’t want you to kick the bucket, why is that a bad thing?”

“I want baby!”

“Stubborn mule, you sound like a scratched CD that skips and skips and skips,” he barks at your persistence.

“Hm?” you crinkle your nose.

“Scratched CD!” he brings his face close to yours, pleased an opportunity for his plan has arisen. “First of all, if you want to keep the kid you have to promise not to die; second, I have no desire to become a father and third of all pick a card!” he shoves them in your fingers, perfectly aware that if you can’t process all the stuff he’s yapping at an amazing speed, you’ll get distracted and forget you’re mad at him; including one of your favorite games to the equation should seal the outcome.

“Hm?”

“Chop, chop, pick a card Pumpkin!”

You suspiciously pluck your item and then shove it back in the bundle.

The Joker steals a kiss while figuring out your card and you protest:

“I don’t… I don’t want your four kisses!”

“That’s too bad, I do come with four kisses, it’s a bundle deal!” J dismisses your logic connected to this morning’s algebra lesson. “Is this your card?” he shows you the Jester card and your mouth opens in amazement.

“A-ha!”

He fights with himself if he should disclose the secret: you don’t seem totally diverted and his plot could misfire due to inaction.

It’s not worth it.

“Do you know how I select the correct card?”

“No.”

“Each single time Pumpkin you invariably pick The Joker card.”

You sulk at the revelation since it’s true: you don’t recall sorting another card from the deck.

“I do… I always choose you…”

He doesn’t have a response and the chat is taking a strange turn, not precisely what he was aiming for.

“Yeah, well… good for you, Princess…” he stands and offers his hand to help you up.

Another smooch as bonus for his assistance whilst The Queen pouts at his impertinence: he has such a nerve!

Perhaps because he comes with four kisses.

It’s a bundle deal.

characters you would marry in an instant? I always find this a hard question to answer because I am so shippy-minded that I just want the characters to be with each other and for me to have nothing to do with it, but here are some characters I find to be PEAK MARRIAGE MATERIAL by my standards:

Henry Higgs from Selfie (THE PERFECT ROMANTIC HERO! I! am! so! mad! this show! got canceled!)

Will Cooper from Single Parents (THE OTHER PERFECT ROMANTIC HERO! I! am! so! mad! this show! got canceled! Hey wait. Does the universe hate perfect TV comedies with strong romcom elements?)

Ron Weasley, which I know is a weird answer because we only see him as a child in canon, but I was also pretty much the same age as him as the books were released, and technically, the dude was born in 1980, so! I’m standing by it! I feel like Ron Weasley was very formative for me re: the level of hilarious snark I demand from a life partner.

Catherine from Reign. Not a good idea, but I Love her, I would follow her to my ruin, and it would be swift.

Lord Castleroy from Reign, but not the s4 version that’s like “Greer, thanks for standing by me, I’m dumping you for a literal KAREN!”. We’re talking old school Castleroy only. PEPPERCORN STYLE.

if you could change one ending to a book/show/game/etc, what would you change about it?

I am going to cheat and have two answers, because of course, but I feel like my approach here is different and therefore valid:

I would give Reign a proper series finale, rather than what they thought was a season finale with a series finale ending tacked on, because even though this show was ALL OVER THE PLACE, I think it always did a really good job with End of An Era episodes (3.05 and 3.15 in particular), so I would love to see what an actual series finale episode of Reign would be like. Probably everyone I love would be dead, but that’s okay!

For the Gilmore Girls revival, I would have Logan break things off with his fiancee and propose to Rory during the big ol’ Life and Death Brigade sequence, like I thought was happening when I first watched it (SIGH!), and then I’d have Rory’s pregnancy declaration to Lorelai at the end be a happy event rather than a The Scream Emoji one. And then my soul would know peace! My relationship with Gilmore Girls is very much in the vein of Taylor Swift’s song “Peace”, in that it is constantly singing to me, Would it be enough if I could never give you peace? and I’m like, “Sighhhhhh, yeah, I GUESS you’re forever my favorite television program of all time.”

Answered here! But you know what? I will also throw in Judy and Jen from Dead to Me, because DANG! May they cuddle in the same blanket and get some gosh darn rest.

7. What do you dislike about your favourite season?

i think season 2 is the best, but as i’ve said before, my favourite is 4 solely because the first few eps i watched were from s4. i think season 4 is very solid and even though it’s a season that HURTS BAD because of everything happening between sam and dean, i think the show earns the conflict for the most part. the literal only thing that still haunts me is that the STUPID VOICEMAIL THAT GETS ALTERED IS NEVER ADDRESSED. like i hate more than anything that sam still thinks dean said those things. like i know jared’s said that sam knows dean loves him but i don’t care!!! sam /and/ dean deserve to know the voicemail was changed.

OH also literally everything with anna milton. she deserved better <3 sorry the fridged you and gave part of your arc to a man, queen.

also sam and dean should’ve found out cas let sam out of the panic room.

8. Thoughts on Sam’s demon blood arc

i love sam’s demon blood arc. his hot girl summer! in all seriousness, it makes perfect sense. mystery spot sets it up that sam goes dark when he doesn’t have dean, and s4 is the natural progression of that. i love sam being hellbent on revenge, and the blood drinking was hot sorry not sorry. like obviously the end result wasn’t stellar and the handling of the demon blood as an addiction was handled rather shittily in the show, but overall this arc is near and dear to me and if i couldn’t have the boy king, i’m glad i got this instead. and it brings up some really interesting concepts that get explored really well in fic.

9. Thoughts on the Moc arc

i hate this arc mostly because like dean was terrible...which makes sense, but even after the mark was gone it’s like... he never /really/ pulls himself out of that place. it also just dragged on for FAR too long. like it didn’t need to be like 30 episodes or however long. i do like that it gave us demon!dean being like sexythreatening, and that scene of sam cradling dean’s face and begging him to tell him that he had to kill all those people and just the general sam is dean’s colette of it all. also the end of s10 with sam on his knees and dean telling him to close his eyes is deeply fucked up and i love it for that reason and obviously that happened bc of the MOC storyline.

10. Fave underrated ep

i am highkey obsessed with 1x04 phantom traveller, 2x07 the usual suspects and 4x19 jump the shark and i feel like most people don’t really care about those episodes or bring them up much. phantom traveller is just interesting bc i think the character moments are fun and i am obsessed with plane crashes for some reason. the usual suspects i just adore because it’s really a great exploration of HOW WELL sam and dean know each other and just how alike they are. and unfortunately i really like the cop lady in this one. jump the shark was the second episode of supernatural i ever saw and for some reason something in my brain latched onto adam and never let go. i love him so much (i know it’s not really him in the ep but ukno) and i love how much you learn about sam and dean through it too.

11. Thoughts on BMOL

boring. like...the actors were not good at their accents. they wanted what bela talbot had in s3. i just didn’t find ‘the british are evil’ a compelling storyline in a supernatural show.... like girl i live in real life you don’t need to preach to me about the british. also like they set up ketch to be evil like worse than toni who i already hate because she tortures/sexually assaults sam by having him kill magda i guess? but then they end up redeeming him and he survives longer than both mick (affectionate) and toni (derogatory), like seriously one of the worst Big Bads they’ve ever had.

12. Thoughts on Mary

to be honest, i think bringing her back was kind of a stupid idea in the sense that the ENTIRE SHOW starts because of her death. but i felt like HAVING DONE THAT, trying to deconstruct her image as like this nuclear housewife was compelling and the whole clash of sam and dean who just want their mom versus mary who left her kids as a an infant and a small child and now has these grown men who are older than her needing things she doesn’t know how to give was very interesting. and i wish they’d done more with that.

well i think everyone’s said it better than me that they can’t seem to get their stance on monsters straight at all and the show suffers for it. i also hate how like the later seasons especially just blatantly retcon so much. the prime example is the garden of eden in s5 vs s15.... the s5 version was so much more interesting and i hate that they brought it back just to destroy their own lore. the whole concept of the abrahamic god being like the ‘real’ god vs other gods just being minor annoyances didn’t like...make sense or feel good either. i also would’ve loved more exploration of like what the fuck it means to be a vessel and also exploration of other monsters/urban legends. like ok we get it ghosts/demons/vampires/werewolves sure w/e but there’s so much to pull from. it got repetitive and there’s so many other things they could’ve tried. hell the SECOND EPISODE of the show mentions black dogs and we never actually encounter one. or like chimeras... like there’s just plenty to dig into and they just get lazy.

15x20 <3 also just...jack....that’s my son! MICHAEL/ADAM IN 15X08!!!! i think there were a couple moments i liked in like...the gambler and last holiday, and i thought belphagor was funny. oh! also sam’s nightmare visions were kinda fun even tho they led back to lucifer :/

18. Thoughts on Lucifer

he was a really excellent and intimidating villain in s5.... and frankly i enjoyed hallucifer as well because sure he was presented comedically but he was a deeply dark presence hanging over sam as a reminder of what he suffered. everything after that...sucked!!! it sucked!!!!! overstayed his welcome, letting him out of the cage again totally nullifies sam’s sacrifice and frankly he lost every smidge of intimidation factor he ever had. he was just annoying and whiny and pointless and sam should’ve killed him <3 fuck that guy.

kripke: PEAK SUPERNATURAL. racist AND sexist but like i frankly do not care because the actually storytelling is so GOOD. COHERENT. i long for what could’ve been had the strike not kneecapped s3 and we’d gotten boyking, but hell the arc we DID get... so good. so fulfilling. aesthetics go off the charts. character dynamics so good!!! conflicts are earned!!!! there was a fucking vision here and it was unique and interesting and the show was COMMITTED TO IT. literally iconic television i love her so much. eric kripke needs a therapist but i’m glad he wrote this show instead of going to see one. 

gamble: sera THEE gamble.... overarching storylines kinda weak, but SO FUN! i had fucking fun! soulless sam is a comedian, godstiel was the last time cas was remotely interesting, like!!!! she gave us everything!!!!! gets slandered way too much by this hell fandom like yes the leviathans were stupid but the were FUN and the character moments in s6-s7!!! so good!!!! lots of excellent MOTW eps as well, which... as we know...i love. when the show lost gamble, it lost something great, i’ll die on this hill. i love u #girlboss.

carver: there’s a lot of good here and a lot i despise. dean steadily grows darker throughout the show but there’s like a real VEER into being awful in s9 that the show never recovers from. it makes dean very unlikeable for the rest of its run, mostly by virtue of the show not realizing how unlikeable it’s made dean because it needs him to always be right so the fact that he’s basically turned into john is never like....addressed in any meaningful way. some storylines (MOC!!) dragged on for too long, while others were way too short (TRIALS!!!) but ultimately i think there were some good ideas here and moments i’m fond of. season 11 is Beautiful. i love her so much. there’s some really excellent eps in s11 and the character moments are good.

dabb: i literally hate it here (jack sweetie you are not included in this assessment you’re doing great). it was just stupid. the characterizations of EVERYBODY sucked and fell flat. way too obsessed with pandering to the loudest faction on twitter. took the wreckage of dean that carver left and full destroyed him. like straight up could’ve done something meaningful if they’d bothered to address it at all but they literally didn’t ever make dean be accountable for his actions??? can’t tell u what cas was doing it was so forgettable he obviously had no purpose literally the only scenes i remember were a couple where he’s being cute with jack and that one ep where he and sam go to that old-timey town and sam gets brainwashed. sam like... exists, and his character is intact but it’s only intact because the writers that were left didn’t want to bother giving him anything meaty to do to so the were like *spins wheel* leadership arc that goes nowhere, and he just exists being kind and compassionate and putting up with too much shit. BUT HE HAD REALLY FUCKING EXCELLENT MOMENTS WITH JACK and that alone is why i think it’s worth the slog. sam/jack is my favourite dynamic on the show following sam/dean so...unfortunately based on that.... i can’t just burn the whole dabb era but seriously... way to make every character a hollow, one-dimensional shell.

this is a black comedy casino episode lonely eyes take that is one of my favorite pieces of work in this fandom and also, honestly, one of my favorite pieces of fiction straight up that i have ever read. prodigy has an extremely sharp grasp on both peter and elias (but especially peter), and they breathe life into the world of mag in a way that is absolutely unparalleled, even at times by the original series imo.

so i’m not gonna lie i’ve never read His Dark Materials but this is a daemon au that i just can’t get enough of. it’s a short lonely eyes piece; the basic gist of it is that peter has lost a bet and now jonah gets to meet his daemon. this fic has everything that i want and rarely get in lonely eyes works: statements on both peter and jonah’s characters, and their dynamic sharply written. again, the last lines of this piece have stayed with me as well.

this is a jonmartin fic in equal turn. set during the scottish safehouse period. essentially, jon is trying to reconcile that fact that elias is jonah while also being visited by him in his dreams. this is one of the first jonelias fics written after the “elias is jonah magnus” reveal, and i think it is still one of the absolute best. the author does a phenomenal job capturing this looming, atmospheric sense of dread. they also totally nail jonah magnus and the jonelias dynamic.

this is a comically well-written jonelias hanahaki fanfic. that’s it. that’s the plot. it’s amazing. it’s basically a shojo oneshot except with in-character jon and elias. this is one of the first fics i read in this fandom that totally blew me away.

i absolutely cannot say enough about this fic. this is one of the few works of fiction i’ve read in my life that i was so obsessed with i genuinely ruined my sleep schedule to finish. this fic is absolutely HILARIOUS. essentially, jon is an extremely powerful 8 year old w/ no knowledge of who he is who is being raised by jonah, who is completely out of his depth. also has a nice touch of gertrudeagnes & the author really nails their dynamic/the tragedy of their relationship...

this is a really interesting work of fiction just generally. it features a non-linear narrative, plays with a lot of unreality, and has a great deal of time wonkiness. i actually can’t explain the plot without giving it away, which i resolutely do not want to do because piecing together what is going on is a huge part of the fun. martin is the primary character, but everyone is featured. jonmartin and lonely eyes are the two ships. one of my favorite works in the fandom.

the last lines/final reveal absolutely tore me apart. i cried like a baby.

-oh god i remember how much it bothered me that connor changed his hair from the end of s2 to the start of s3 lol (bc it’s supposed to be the same night, but yk, nitpicking)

I’m glad they put them on equal ground bc connor and ava’s direct superior is on ava’s side, and literally everyone else is with connor. AND CONNORS STILL PLAYED AS AN UNDERDOG BC AVA TOOK HIS SURGERY! HOW. infuriating

-anyway, for the purposes of the theory ava is capable enough to hold her own as a stand alone, and clever enough to be entertaining

-holy shit no i think i just remembered how this storyline goes. connor gets a better surgery, right? he gets glory and stuff. this is too fucking rich, come on. let one thing go wrong for him.

From Martin coming back from his two weeks-long Prentiss siege (where~ he was~ all alone~ and nobody~ had checked~ on him~~~) and forcing himself into Jon’s office, to Jon running out of his own office to finally see Martin again after a week of being back to work (following his six months “coma”). It just… installed, right away, the shift between then and now? It hurts thx I hate it ♥

1°) *weeps loudly* Martin, what the heck happened for you to get on first name basis with “Peter”, now… (Answer: “Relationship Status: It’s Complicated”.) 2°) By contrast, I don’t think we've ever heard Jon ooze quite so much disrespect towards someone. I mean, calling Peter by his last name like this? Jon? Jon??? Even in the previous episode, he was still using first+last names (MAG123: “Working for Peter Lukas.” and it was exactly the same phrasing!!), he tends to use honorifics or mention people through first+last names or first name only, even for monsters… So by contrast, this makes it sound like he’s Out For Blood. Someone is reaaaally not enjoying the idea of Martin working for someone else, uh. 3°) … Martin literally denied working for “Lukas”…?? Is it a matter of “this is not what he’s doing right now”, is it a matter of Martin actually doing something for the Institute/something that is technically not Lukas-related, is it a matter of making a distinction between “Peter” / “Lukas”, is it a matter of a third party being involved? Or… Well. I have Questions And Ponderings about where Martin is (presumably in the Lonely dimension?) and what control he has over his comings and goings… but I also do wonder, since Martin slipped and almost said something when Jon spat Peter’s name, while Martin had been apparently very cautious not to tell Jon anything about his current whereabouts all through the exchange… what if. actually. Peter was there in the room right now and Martin knew it? MAG120 had demonstrated that characters not seeing Peter doesn't indicate that he isn’t actually witnessing events himself, since… he knew how Elias had behaved before revealing himself to Martin:

(MAG120) ELIAS: G– goodbye, Martin. Be seeing you. [DOOR CLOSES] [SILENCE] MARTIN: [LONG EXHALES] [VERY SHARP SQUEAL OF DISTORTION] PETER: Must be a relief. MARTIN: H– uh– PETER: Honestly, I thought there’d be more of a scene, but… he always surprises me.

… So, given that Jon is not hiding his annoyance about the mere concept of Peter (and given Jonathan “Bad Decisions” Sims’s luck overall), I… wonder… if this wasn’t Martin almost slipping up to say that Peter was there too, before remembering to not say anything about it? (But even if it wasn’t that during that scene, overall: I’m still wondering if Peter mightn’t be just roaming the Institute and having the time of his life listening to Jon’s complains about him and just. Not showing himself to him. Best way to avoid compulsion and to get on Jon’s nerves.)

- Curiously, the tape recorder got into static mode when Jon spotted Martin – not the distorted screeching sounds from Peter’s appearances (MAG100, MAG108, MAG120): usually, with Peter, there is a “peak” of it during his arrival/departure (well, departure in MAG100; the tape stopped while he was still there in MAG120, and he left through the door in MAG108), and a constant screeching as long as he’s there. Here, there was only a peak of static when Jon spotted Martin and, I think, nothing afterwards? Can’t 100% guarantee it, but I think it was the same static from Jon’s compulsion, which… could mean that it was Jon’s powers which allowed him to See Martin, because he was thinking of him?

(MAG124) ARCHIVIST: […] Still no sign of Peter Lukas of course, or Mar– [STATIC] Wait– Wait. [CHAIR SCRAPING] [OPENS DOOR, FAR:] Martin! Martin! MARTIN: Oh. … Hi, Jon. ARCHIVIST: Martin, i–i–it’s… I, I–I haven’t seen you– MARTIN: Yeah. S–sorry.

Or was that Jon’s… “Insight”, like when he knew Tim when would be there in MAG114? He was waiting for Tim, back then, so it was something he already knew; maybe the static here was Jon Knowing right now about Martin’s presence? There was something akin to a ruffling noise, back in MAG099, too, when he mentioned Gerry in relation to Gertrude (something he had never learned prior to that), and I’m not able to tell if it was Jon’s clothes ruffling or actual static… It could be the same thing in all cases, perhaps? … aaaand now that I think about it, the fact that he knew/felt that Basira had a statement in her bag in MAG122 could also be not because he Can Feel Statements Overall Since He Is Tied To Them (smells like food.), but due, also, to that ~Insight~, since same static. Don’t know! Jon, what the eff are your powers, what the eff are you, what the eff do you know about them, etc. But the static in MAG124 could also be unrelated to Jon: Peter’s appearance (with the huge screeching) had been preceded by static in MAG108, while Martin was deciding to ask Basira about Melanie and calling for her to no avail (implying that he was already getting isolated at this point, since Basira heard him call for her afterwards). Static might be showing up when people are getting Isolated/released from isolation, while the sharp distortions are Peter’s sounds specifically? We’re lacking data so far, since we don’t know much about what is happening exactly with Peter’s appearances and that other dimension overall? For example, were Peter’s three appearances in season 3 him sneaking his way into reality (and the tape recorder reacting to the intrusion and his presence because he’s a spook), or Peter swallowing a piece of reality into the Lonely (and the tape recorder reacting because it’s not in the right space anymore)? I wonder, more and more, if there isn't something about time being involved with the Lonely, rather than only space: Peter had made a lot of references to time in season 3, and there was the fact that Basira came in to see Martin as if he had just called her name (despite the fact that the whole Peter-Martin exchange had happened in the meantime)… *squints, once again, at Elias’s clock*

Well, he seems it.” / MAG123: “Martin is working very closely with The Lonely, who is, predictably enough, isolating him”), he’s basically here, though in the Lonely dimension/space/whatever?

Is it the exact same place of reality as in Barnabas Bennett’s letter (MAG092), since Barnabas has… ended up as bones? If it is the same one: *screams* about what Martin is risking and/or the implications behind the fact that Martin is still alive so far D: Is it because the Institute/Archives are Beholding’s territory that both spaces are still able to interact a bit? Barnabas had felt the difference (“I know that what is done by those I cannot see might be felt here – I have found glasses broken and pages torn that were not so the night before. It is my hope that if I leave a letter here, in your institute, you might find it, you might be able to save me.”) and Elias had confirmed that his letter had reached Jonah Magnus, so it indeed looks like the Institute/Beholding can pierce through it or act as a bridge or diminish the Lonely’s influence…

- Okay, so regarding Martin himself: it was abundantly clear that he doesn’t want to tell Jon anything about what he’s doing, but also… He was shit at giving Jon reasons not to worry, and we have had ample proof that Martin can be very good at lying (he’d lied to everyone about going to uni for at least seven years before Jon extracted a confession out of him, and gave a stellar performance of getting surprised and hurt and offended when Jon asked him to stay behind in MAG116 in order to lower Elias’s guard, before suddenly turning steel-cold and in control as soon as Elias had left). So. How come Martin Blackwood wasn’t able to convincingly deceive Jon here? Was it because Jon spotting him was a surprise? Was it because Peter had suddenly dropped him back in the Archives as a ~little joke~ (Jon had mentioned Peter right before mentioning Martin)? Is it because Martin is still too weak to Jon / was very tense because he feared that Jon would compulse the hell out of him? Was it because he’s really really uncomfortable with what he’s doing, and fearing Jon’s reaction? Was it because he didn’t even care about being convincing? ;; He wasn’t surprised about Jon being awake and back, so either he had been able to see Jon even though Jon couldn’t see him, either Peter told him about Jon’s return. So… definitely, Martin is doing his thing and it’s ;; worrisome. I don’t think it’s worth hoping that the six past months (and Martin’s current… work…) haven’t messed him up, but I’m not sure that his exchange with Jon was indicative of his current state? It was mostly Martin trying to slip like water between Jon’s fingers, and trying to say the least possible (that part was obvious). So whatever he’s doing, it’s… probably not pretty, or could easily be interpreted as very bad without the full picture… (Martin is not stupid; he agreed to something in the trailer; he probably felt like he didn’t have much of a choice, or that he could get something valuable in exchange, and it clearly sounded like a sacrifice. That doesn’t mean that it’s not probably meant to backfire, but at the same time… he’s not currently being a victim?)

- BUT HAVING JON AWKWARDLY TRYING TO REACH WAS SO PAINFUL AND ~*IRONIC*~, rfdjfvjnfd I’m crying but I’m laughing and I love and I hate it. Jon not used to Martin trying his Best to not talk to him, Jon being the one who is trying to make small talk, Jon asking Martin about his poetry………………………. the stuttering, the long pauses, Martin perpetually trying to announce his departure………….. (And it also highlighted how… Jon doesn’t know much about Martin? He knows that he likes spiders, he discovered (creepily.) that Martin writes poetry (progress!! Jon didn’t say anything mean about it this time around, focusing on the activity rather than the result. Careful, Jon, next time, if Martin Gets Better, he’ll probably ask for your honest opinion about a piece and you’ll be screwed.), he knows that Martin makes tea, he knows that Martin used to write letters to his mother… that doesn’t make a lot of topics to try to grab his attention.) There is still something comforting in the fact that Jon is now trying, though? That he’s aware of what he has lost, and is trying to change, to reach, to inquire about others? Of course, it’s heart-wrenching that it’s not currently working, that the situation has changed, that it doesn’t evolve into communication, that… it might be too late. I don’t feel like it’s getting depressing, though (… not yet maybe.), because there are still efforts coming from Jon, and he seems to be following his decision from MAG117 about trusting and trying even when things don’t come to him naturally anymore. Season1!Jon wouldn’t have bothered. Season4!Jon might be too late for this, but he’s trying, and there is still hope (… for now) that it will matter in the end? (Or, precisely: it will fail, again and again, and the new tragedy will be that Jon and the others never managed to reach out at the same time.) Even with Martin’s departure, I wonder if Jon wasn’t still aiming for something:

The fact that Jon stopped Martin’s reflex to apologize and that “It was good to see you” meant that he wasn’t shutting Martin off, and maybe… throwing out an awkward attempt to give him something to fight off the Lonely? Those words are especially nice, especially caring (like Jon wasn’t asking anything out of Martin but giving something?), and it’s not a sentence that you would have expected coming from Jon’s mouth.

- There is currently a Thing about Jon coming back to his roots as Head Archivist (the statements from MAG122 and MAG123 were at the end of Gertrude’s direction/the beginning of Jon’s) and here, we kinda had a nod towards Jon’s first steps in the Institute… given that “Simon Fairchild” was one of the first cases Jon had studied as a researcher!

(MAG051) ARCHIVIST: […] One of my first cases as a researcher for the Institute in 2012 was looking into the history of a jeweller in Hackney, that had reported cases becoming cracked in the night. Nothing was ever taken but, each morning it would be like a heavy weight had been dropped upon them. Looking into it, it turned out that the jewels had, in the 1930s, belonged to a con artist and fence, who had attracted the displeasure of the local population. When one particularly irate customer threw him out of a fourth-floor window into a crowded street at midday… no one claimed to have seen anything. A minor possible haunting with a decidedly pedestrian backstory, but notable because while I was never able to discover the original name of the con artist, one of his many, many aliases was Simon Fairchild, and it appeared on several business listings around the time. Whether it’s a coincidence or not is something of a moot point at this stage, however.

(YEEEET) So, Simon again. I had stupidly assumed that he might have died in MAG051 (August 2006, expedition to retrieve antiques from a 19th century steam yacht, “The Maria Fairchild”), because there had been no trace of him after the events and the statement-giver had been told by the Captain, when inquiring about him, that “The sea is a dangerous place”. But nop, he was still active in 2012 and it looks like it’s his Thing to just… come and go (after taking someone in the process). Woopsies. But since he’s someone who is tied to Jon’s first steps in the Institute, and that Jon said that:

(MAG124) ARCHIVIST: Simon Fairchild is one of the… recurrent figures that I think disquiets me the most. Not simply for what he does, the endless spaces of highs or depths to which he’s so quick to condemn his victims, but… the joy he seems to take in doing so. And I don’t think there is much to this tale beyond that: an evil man tormenting and killing simply for his own pleasure, and to feed the power that sustains him. […] I do not think I ever wish to meet him.

1°) Oh My Gods, Jon, Don’t Bring It On Yourself. (10 episodes later (probably): Jon Meets Simon Fairchild.) (I mean. You know your luck, Jon. Don’t tempt fate.) 2°) The casual shade towards (other) monsters, Jon, please… Hey, old man! Jon finds you stereotypical and too random for his taste. I’m really reassured that Jon is using a few keywords such as “victims”, “evil”, “tormenting”, and that he’s… looking down on him. That’s also good. The less neutral Jon will be about Avatars hurting people, the betteeerrrr ;; (I’m afraid of him getting… used to that dynamic, insensitive to it? Perceiving it as something normal, and mostly concerned about the ~creativity~ displayed?) (Simon had been compared to a “vulture” back in MAG051, and we also had the case of Mike Crew preying on the acrophobic brother back in MAG075… it’s not even specifically a Vast thing (since we’ve also had Elias swooping in as soon as Melanie mentioning being desperate in MAG084, or Peter around Martin) but I’m still nervously laughing that they just. Go nnyYYYOOOOOOOOOOMM as soon as someone vulnerable to their Patron is feeling things.)

- (Simon was fairly recognizable, it wasn’t especially “!!” that Jon went straight to the… meat during the post-statement, and highlighted right away that it was him although he hadn’t been named. It just makes it even more surprising that he didn’t even mention the possibilty of the girl being Annabelle Cane in MAG123. Jon, are you hiding something again? Or are the spiders encouraging you to not think too much about her…?)

- (I’m not mentioning the statement much in itself but: that was dreadful, really loved it, really resenting the fact that the episode just happened to be released when we got snow in Paris, really reassured that I could avoid the tramway during a few days and that I don’t go to the mountains anymore =D)

- nervouslaughter.wav that the statement had a son and his mother (and no father anymore) being close and then drifting away => poof! Martin invoked in the adjacent room. (mARTIN……)

- “It’s been a week and… Melanie’s attitude towards me hasn’t softened” => It sounds like Jon is back to the ~casual~ rhythm of one statement a week, which was more or less his cruising speed excepting for awful accumulations due to Circumstances. That’s a kind of normalcy he can have some control over and it’s a bit reassuring that the statement dependency doesn’t seem to have escalated, what’s with his new… status.

- Still no reference to MAG118 and MAG120’s tapes but That Means Nothing given that Jon tends to overall hide things and to reveal them much later. (He didn’t ask Martin about his mother, at least.)

- (Also: who is currently in possession of the Web lighter right now? And has Jon... stopped smoking, since he woke up.)

- Okay so if they don’t leave the Institute much and kind of live in the Archives nowadays, what are they all doing with all this free time, since…

(MAG122) ARCHIVIST: […] No notes or follow-up in the statement, and obviously no research done by myself or… my team. (MAG123) ARCHIVIST: […] The investigation is tricky, I don’t want to impose on Basira and, obviously, Melanie and… Martin… aren’t available, but I did do some light searching myself on Gregory Cox. (MAG124) ARCHIVIST: […] In other cases, I might think for locations noteworthy, might to try to piece together some wider plan. But Fairchild seems to travel far and wide for his victims, with no motivation other than… variety. I do not think I ever wish to meet him. … Of course, even if I did want to do research into the statement, I wouldn’t have any help doing so.

… they’ve never been this bad at doing the follow-ups, holy heck. But ;; Sasha was the one who could hack, Tim was the one flirting his way into records, and they’re both gone. Martin sometimes went to talk to people (and have them weep on him) and he’s unavailable. Melanie is, uh, not keen on helping. Which leaves Basira, who had connections in the police, so mmm. Indeed, if she’s not helping Jon with follow-ups, what is she doing…

- So !!! regarding Basira!!

(MAG124) ARCHIVIST: […] And Basira, though she is very willing to talk, still doesn’t seem to trust me enough to let me in on whatever plans she might have – if she has any plans at all, of course. I could… make her tell me, I know that, but… I can’t afford to burn any more bridges.

1°) =D Yeah, Basira said she was “more of a talker” in her first appearance (MAG043). I wonder (due to that “very willing to talk” which sounded like… Jon.) if she’s trying to keep Jon updated with the Institute’s mundane gossip. 2°) I had somehow not considered that Basira could be planning something, and I feel so stupid about it… she’s Basira! Aaaaaaaaaand. I wonder if she’s been researching The Watcher’s Crown by herself? She picked up that their ritual was still a possibility (MAG123), she had been the one to notice the regularity surrounding The Dark’s (MAG108): she’s very good at drawing connections between data to understand patterns. And it would also explain why she’s so cautious around Jon: as long as she has no way to be sure that Jon is against their ritual, as long as she doesn’t know what state Jon currently is in, it wouldn’t be a good idea to share what she has found. Jon by himself hasn’t done much to be reassuring, since he… Knew that she had a statement on her as soon as he woke up, and asked for it even before asking for water. From an external point of view, his awakening made him look more inhuman than human, even though he’s also been quite good behaviour-wise since then… 3°) Jon’s argument for not compulsing her is a tiny (TINY) bit creepy, since he’s thinking about the strategic consequences more than uuuuuuuh, Basira’s feelings on the matter??? But it’s also… typical Jon. The fact he’s aware of consequences is even an improvement compared to season 1? But it’s also highlighting that either the need to know, either the stress of people hiding things from him, is taking its toll on him, and I don’t know how long it will last before he snaps ;;

… I do wonder if that won’t be Jon’s dilemma pretty soon: trying to trust the assistants like he had decided to at the end of season 3, not probing them too much, waiting for them to open up to him when they feel it’s Right, not compulsing the truth out of them (and accepting that they’re taking risks and could get harmed in their own involvements), or… compulsing them hard and extorting what is actually happening (losing what remains of their trust in the process, directing their disgust/hate towards him maybe, but also ensuring that he would be able to save their lives)? I mean, for Jon, Tim just happened. He chose to trust Tim, to give Tim the opportunity Tim sought, and Tim didn’t come back from that. That could change his perspective a bit about his way to try and save the assistants.

(Overall: AHAHAHAHAHA, SOBBING ABOUT MARTIN, WOW THAT WAS SO RUDE. SO, SO RUDE. At this point, only Elias will to be happy to ~see~ that Jon has woken up, uh.)

Man, this Monokuma has been so much less in control and emotional than the previous Monokumas. I mean, the competition is pretty stacked - last Monokuma was literally the god of his world and an omniscient being that pervaded their entire ecosystem with one exception - but between throwing up a second motive in the first chapter, getting ‘overthrown’ by Monodam ** (even if he ‘went on vacation’ and this entire chapter, this ^ guy is barely hanging on by his teeth.

** I just realized the whole ‘Monodam takes over the killing game’ may have been bloody foreshadowing for this chapter sdlkfj

Monodam even got pushed to his limit for all of a whole chapter/killed two Monokubs and even though Kokichi didn’t directly kill them, he does have Gonta and Miu’s aka two classmate’s blood on his hands even with the most charitable look at chapter 4′s events before both Monodam and he ultimately take actions to end their own lives

this has been another mini-episode of ‘I read into things too much’

Something about him saying ‘you’re certainly entitled to your opinion’ is incredibly grating and hilarious. It’s so.... passive-aggressive and banal? So un-Monokuma? I feel like behind the plushie, someone is pouting with their arms crossed tightly and just grumbling to themselves. They can’t even muster up a whole ~despair~ rant right now.

Another wild theory appears - the original students with the talents Makoto/Hope’s Peak wanted to preserve, or for whatever reason digitized their memories/personalities/talents (think Gonta Alter-Ego) died - or were ‘hunted down’ aka the Ultimate Hunt - and in their place they pick up 16 ordinary kids to give them to, possibly by force. Or hell, maybe not, if Rantaro remembers and said something like ‘you wanted this’, though wasn’t that in regards to the killing game???  And then... they set up a simulation? Maybe? To test their viability? .... The question is who introduced Monokuma to the whole thing. Is that part of the test, or was that the cult sneaking in... and if the students really are ‘easily replaceable’, are they just picking up new ordinary kids as replacements? Which means it could be someone dressed as her, right? Even if it did sound like her seiyuu...

But out of everyone left, assuming this isn’t happening at the exact same time/immediately after the trial... well, I mean, out of everyone alive, two people could be in Junko-dress right now, right? Both Maki and Tsumugi could fit, and considering we haven’t gotten to look at Tsumugi at all and her talent... I’m heavily leaning towards her.

I think... I could maybe follow up on some of the speculating I made in this post? About Junko being elevated to a larger-than-life figure in history? Maybe there’s some leeway in there, in the same way that we have historical figures that end up being featured prominently in fiction, or even become warped/satirized in various ways because they’re so removed from us in our current time... and perhaps Junko has become more than a person in that same way, or even more than that, a title/role that can be inherited and passed down? Is it possible to get around cospox that way? FUCK NO MORE TRAINING TIME OR TRAINING JOKES OR STUPID TITLES FOR THE TRAINING POSTS THIS IS THE WORST TIMELINE

Man I really love the close connections Shuichi has to people in this game. Maybe that’s why I’ve been enjoying it so much? He recognizes his classmates and what they have to offer, sure - but he’s a regular kid. He’s got his favoured connections, and the people whose deaths he feels more powerfully than the others, and the reactions he has to everything around him... well, maybe that’s my own bias because they really resonate with me. I don’t usually have much of an interest for audience surrogate characters (I don’t dislike them, I just, you know, don’t adore them or anything) but - and I know now that this is a divisive topic - I really like Shuichi’s personality. I really do. And I think he has one. He’s a quiet guy - he keeps most of his thoughts on the inside - and I get that for a lot of people, quiet = no personality, but the way he has responded to a lot of the situations that have come up previously have both been different than what I’m used to seeing from ‘protagonist’ characters and, erm, pretty... familiar to me personally and that has been a bit of a shock tbh. seriously what’s with this - same birthday, same blood-type, same hobbies, likes and dislikes, same Best Boy, etc....

I’m not sure where this tangent is going tbh, but I guess I’m sorta gearing up for next chapter? We don’t have many people left to work with. 8′D Kaito’s gone, Kokichi is gone, and all we have left are a collection of differing quiet personalities. It’s going to be very, very different, that’s for sure.

I am being a bit harsh on her though - to her credit, she seemed initially confused about why he was blaming himself (despite him repeating all the things she said to him during the beginning of the trial). There’s no one left to connect them now and she seems to have realized that - they’re going to have to finally do the heavy work themselves.

Like Chapter 4 Maki, I feel like she’s speaking in that same roundabout way she did when asking about Shuichi’s interest in Kaede. “Are you lonely too?” or even, “do you need someone to talk to/be with who understands how you feel?” She still has a lot of trouble being forthright but it’s great that she’s taking the initiative, especially after her earlier confession.

I hate to say it, but I think Shuichi may have ended up in a similar state as Ryoma after Chapter 1 if he was left spinning his own wheels...

2: i think more ppl with my sense of humor should watch Spider Riders bc listen..  if somewhere along the line that show suddenly gained more popularity again in this fine year of 2019 id be both actually funny for once but also revolutionary. by all technicalities some of my hcs are fucking great but i dont think i could say a lot of them and even be comprehensible outside of orientation based ones that are just rlly controversial. granted im not even sure i could or would actually recommend the show to people cause its kinda dumb a lot of the time and also fairly long at least to my standards so its harder to finish unless ur like really invested in it :pensive:

21: the SR novels were cowards only on account of not giving us any official design for petra but also for writing igneous like.  That.  novelverse igneous is just too bitter in general and like i get it but they couldve done a lot more with him even though he is still somewhat respectable in the end, granted its hard cause like holy shit hes so fucking mean to hunter literally who asked for that. im just glad the anime let him be somewhat more idk..  i guess sociable while still keeping a lot of the inherently essential aspects his personality had like his almost over the top loyalty to the prince and taking things like training/combat in general very seriously. its just good and animeverse igneous is so good id die for him thanks for coming to my tedtalk

Season 3: 1st impressions

I try not to be too picky but also I’m not the best w/ change and i'n aware it’s good to change+ it might be better but this is mostly first thoughts and stuff rather than real Anaylsis

Slippery Slope: -Um Fernald and Sunny interactions were adorable. -also the Violet and Quigley scene and the interactions are just nice as well as sunny in general -also the highlighting the big picture is good for the media esp. B/c of how it’s gone down the past 2 seasons so the V.F.D. Stuff feels more relavent -A little but disappointed that Violet didn’t invent the Sumac knot. - b/c for the sake of giving sunny development a lot of the decisions and choices are downplayed/ made for Violet and Klaus already like w/ Esme big a problem just noticed it -but still it feels like too much like V.F.D. machinations on the part of their parents rather than their own actions/ special interests like earlier i mean it’s prob. B/c of that ‘passing the torch’ theme but idk -not a lot of kit and poe which was good b/c of the plot drive and everything

-but also dumb lesbian brain says kit is pretty cool and also at least it seems like it’s getting the depth better than i expected tho my Expectations were low b/c of that interview Grim Grotto: (these are mostly reactions b/c i’m getting bitter as i keep watching) -does the plot just happen b/c of Klaus’s interest in fiona :/ (im saying that like directly w: the scene) -so crap she’s pretty and the accent -oooh the sub’s cool+ Esme!! Also Olaf’s false identity is peak -they gave fiona Violet’s skill :/ i know it’s for plot purposes but that doesn’t men have to be happy about it -also they gave Violet Fiona’s line -This is :/ like it’s just Klaus sticking around b/c of Fiona and not listening to Violet despite literally the entire series like they always argued at high stress points but the lack of Caption Widdershins is really knee capping this experience -aw Ferdinald made a chef’s saled - I don’t like the putting Violet and Fiona against each other like it’s clear Violet’s being rational but like it’s trying to make her sympathetic but it feels like she’s just rushing in w/o good motivations b/c she does’s literary Analysis on Moby Dick so why wouldn’t she just research? B/c her key traits aren’t the special interest and being forced to follow her step-father’s orders and like change is fine it just isn’t make her that sympathetic for at least the first half of part one b/c of she’s just pushing Klaus around and arguing w/ vi -aw sunny’s wink -Fiona’s better b/c it’s starting the make her seem more lost i guess and highlighting the ambiguity of her character b/c it’s b/c of the lack of control she has to the point where all she knows it to follow her dad’s orders b/c of how he demeans her thoughts/ puts them aside like i think she’s written to be more of a character than a plot vehicle but idk if it’s like good? B/c it’s melding two characters when one is directly the result of the other Like i have the enjoy that’s she’s quick and making the best of her situation and clearly lost on where to go as well as getting more of her the the latter half of the book b/c she does mention how her father told her that some things were too dangerous to know and asking for guidance but it def. makes her less compelling i guess w/o seeing her in the sub as a crew member which drives her actions for this idk how part 2 will go down though. I mean it gets the volatility right idk if it uses it to not detract from her tho b/c it makes Klaus seem really dumb -wait Quigley was sent there? What about his siblings? I mean it gets the Kit exploiting kid’s right and it’s using its assets it already has but :/ -Well the Baudelaires are written better at the beginning of GG 2/ end of GG 1 -also the Medusoid Meclium isn’t a mushroom :/ -i think i’m realizing that this is written more about Ferdald rather than Fiona as the focus of the book which makes sense b/c of the more episodes making more room for development i just really liked fiona ok so im midly distressed -oh crap fiona and violet working together made me feel very gay for a moment -why is the sub so stocked w/ wasbai b/c the mushroom was quarantined? -more disappointed w/ fiona’s writing b/c she helping now? Prob b/c of the mention of her brother but still not like my fav. Set-up w/ her character. But hey the sad look at the Baudelaires was nice b/c the turn looks like it’ll work at least - Fedanald’s monologue was great - at least why she turns makes sense -anyway the show doesn’t mention the food code so why does Fiona use the same line w/ the kiss? -anyway idk if it was me being distracted about how Fiona was written differently and how it personally didn’t click. for me and everything but idk i think i had way to high expectations b/c idk it lacked the crying/ emotional stuff that the book had like sure i was tying a bit but Vi’s b-day felt like it lasted for a moment idk o guess Fiona just disrupted the baudelaire’s moment when they were originally written as crying over the situation and everything but Sunny and the fungus got that really well it’s the just the fast pace detracts from the whole letting the kids’ express sadness towards things idk

okay so basically i was born like 5 months before the first episode aired. my mom & dad (who I’ve always been close to) have watched since day 1 and i remember they would tuck me in and then they’d go watch ncis. i used to call it ncsi lmaoo.

anyway, it was just kinda apart of life like I’d go to bed and my parents would watch ncis. sometimes i’d peak around the corner to watch and get terrified. so for the longestttttt time i wouldn’t watch. i watched s12 on and off and watched most of s13. 13 year old me did NOT like watching tony leave even back then but y’all i didn’t know the half of it. (sis was also confused bc i didn’t realize ziva’s name was ziva. since i was so young and wasn’t allowed to watch i only knew her face. so when they were saying tali was ziva’s daughter i got mad bc i didn’t realize ziva was ziva. literally dying rn bc 3 year old me shipped tony w ziva w/o knowing they were tony and ziva i-)

now, I’ve been watching the new eps regularly since s15 and I’ve been following fan accounts on insta for ab a year now, but at the time i hadn’t watched the older eps. one day in early september 2018 my ex boyfriend was like “you should watch ncis” so i was like “k” and didn’t think much of it. (boy i was in for ittt) i didn’t listen to him until after we broke up and last decemeber i did a high dive in the deep end of ncis feels. even though i wasn’t experiencing everything when it happened, trust me, shit still hits HARD all these years later. honestly forget what life was like before tiva fanfic at 3am but that’s besides the point.

all in all this show has grown up w me. it’s kicked my ass and saved it in more ways the one. but tbh i wouldn’t want it any other way. it’s part of who i am and i love it.

When the show first aired, I was four years old (that’s insane to me, look at my blog now, look what I’ve become!)

For as long as I can remember, NCIS was my mom and dad’s show. Like “Goodnight kids, mommy and daddy are going to watch NCIS!” “Why can’t we watch?” sort of thing.

When I was 13, I DISTINCTLY remember walking into my mom’s room and she was watching NCIS. I sat down and she explained some things to me. “That’s Tony, he’s the goofy comedic one. That’s Gibbs. He’s the boss. That one is Ziva, she and Tony are one of those will-they-won’t-they couples…” (BE STILL MY HEART THAT WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT MOM)

So I watch. Obviously, I love. And you know what? I remember exactly which episode that was. Season 10 episode 21. That’s right folks.

Berlin.

End of the episode comes. I’m already totally a Tiva shipper by that point. BAM! Car crash.

Me: “WHAT? What the heck kind of show is this? Are they okay?”

Weeks pass. I think I maybe watched the next one with my mom but I didn’t start fully watching the show, cause I wasn’t allowed. Ya’ know, age 13 and all.

Or at least so my mom thought.

Mom leaves the house, I turn on USA and hope for an NCIS marathon. Once I got caught. Oops.

Soon after that, though, I started to watch the show, and wouldn’t you know it, later that year it is announced that Ziva would not be returning to the show. Now I was late to the party and pretty much missed all the fun! :(

I watched Ziva’s final episode, and by that point I had at least watched enough of the show to understand how big of a deal her leaving was. How much Tony loved her. And I was outraged.

Haha. “Was.” More like I am still not over it today.

Anyhoo, I suppose the next notable thing was me borrowing all the DVD copies of the show from my mom’s friend and binge watching all of them in the summer of 2015. “How many episodes did you watch today?” my parents ask with a disappointed look on their face.

Me: *sweats nervously* “Ahaha only like 3” or 4 or 5 or 6.“

Apparently I didn’t thoroughly watch all of them, cause sometimes I find one or a strand of some that I have never seen, which is kind of a nice surprise.

Fast forward to today, and I think its safe to say that I’m in full obsession mode. I miss the golden seasons like crazy, even if I technically wasn’t there for them the first time around. I think if I was in an NCIS trivia competition, I could wipe the floor with my opponents. I soak in every single detail and I am absolutely in love with all the characters. (Well, most characters–of the new ones, the only ones I have actually enjoyed have been Torres, Jack Sloane, and even the new girl that will probably replace Abby, Kasie).

I ship Tiva (ha, obviously) and I was also a McAbby shipper, and I’m terribly disappointed to this day that they never did anything with that character development.

I still hold onto hope for a Ziva/Tony return to the show, though it gets harder to hope each day. I miss them so much.

I’m not sure if anyone will actually be interested in reblogging this, but I think it would be very cool to read how other people got into the fandom.

Hogwarts House: I feel like I’ve mentioned this on my blog, but I can’t remember when, so...I’m a Hufflepuff by ~choice~. I was actually Hatstalled on Pottermore! That means that the Hat couldn’t choose between two Houses for me, and literally gave me the option to choose. The other House I could’ve chosen was actually Slytherin, lol. I have no idea how I got Hatstalled between those two, though it makes for an amusing story.

Favorite Color: Can’t remember if I said this on Tumblr or Discord, but it’s actually red. Chuunibyou me used to call it “blood-red” or “crimson-red”. But in terms of clothing, I tend to pick black, gray, or dark blue! (because they’re easier to wash than white clothes :3c)

Favorite Animal: If it has fur and eyes, I’ll probably think it’s cute by default. Furless animals like reptiles and birds are fine as well! But as for my favorite...it’s actually the snow monkey! The sole reason is the fact that they look like cute mini-grandpas when they’re chilling in hot springs:

Average hours of sleep: I have the ability to sleep like 18 hours thanks to the wacky sleep schedule I cultivated during university. But now that I think about it, it’s more like 6-8 hours on average. Huh. Surprisingly normal.

Cat or dog person: Please refer to the screenshot in the next question~ I’m a dog in the Chinese zodiac (y’all probably can figure out my DOB from the stuff I’m writing in this post, though it’s honestly not a secret since I’ve said things like “I’m Suwawa’s age” like a bajillion times lol), and my dream is to own a dog once I get my own place! I love cats as well though - I spent a lot of time petting cats in Korea and the Netherlands.

Favorite Fictional Characters: Everyone in µ’s and Aqours is precious!!! But it’s kinda obvious who my favorites are from my blog description, haha. Here’s what I’ve said before:

Nagato Yuki was actually my all-time favorite character when I was in high school. I pretty much died when I saw her alternate universe version in the movie, even though I knew what was coming since I read the light novels. :’)))

Number of blankets I sleep with: Usually one, but sometimes I use two in the winter (comforter + thin blanket). I dislike having cold feet/hands - the major plus to being smol is having warm hands, actually! It’s from sleeves being always too long for me, resulting in me being able to keep my hands insulated as a result.

Favorite Singer/Band: I don’t really have any particular favorite artist - I usually just happen to like whatever genre I’m into at the time - jazz, rock, classical, pop, slow ballads, and so on. Aside from LL music, I guess I mostly listen to random Korean and Japanese songs. Soundtracks from movies, games, and shows in general are pretty great!

Dream Trip: Airbnb in Europe! I’ve been to the Netherlands and Belgium, but I didn’t have too much time to explore since I was only there briefly (I literally spent a single day in Belgium) for a study abroad program. I’d really like to visit London in particular so I can geek out over Harry Potter stuff.

I actually joined Tumblr in 2012, but I only used my account for a year to reblog assorted memes and anime gifs. There wasn’t really any theme to it (unlike my current blog, which is firmly in the LL fandom), which is probably why I quickly lost interest. I wonder if I even remember the password to my old account...not that I really want to log on, since reading my old tags and reblogs is embarrassing (even the URL is just...OTL).

When did your blog reach its peak?: I suspect it was that “Is there anything that You CAN’T do???” post I made towards the beginning of the LLS anime that started getting my blog attention. I do know that out of my top five posts, at least three of them are shitposts (specifically, from my Love Live SINshine series)...possibly four lmao, I haven’t looked too closely. I did get some attention for my analyses and translations, but not as much. TBH, I’m not surprised that memes rather than rambling won people over! :3c

What made you decide to make a Tumblr?: Yeah, about that...

Birthday: The day that LLS Episode 13 aired.

Relationship status: Single, and will probably stay that way until I rectify the fact that I’ve literally fallen asleep at a nightclub, and then ditched my friends there to go eat dumplings at 2am, because for me, apparently hunger > “thirst”.

Siblings: one younger brother (who probably thinks I’m a loser for still reading manga and stuff)

Wake up time: Generally, I’ll wake up naturally sometime between 9 and 10am. If I’m feeling lazy, or if I stayed up really late the night before, I’ll sleep in until like 1 or 2pm. In college, I’ve woken up at like 7pm before because my sleep schedule during university was, well...

In Korea, I’ve been waking up at about 7 or 8am though, so that I can eat breakfast with my relatives before they go to work!

Lemonade or sweet tea: Does yujacha count as sweet tea? :’D If not, then lemonade.

Day or night: I’m a night owl. I also prefer sunsets and the night sky over sunrise.

Coke or pepsi: I actually dislike pretty much all carbonated beverages now that I’m not the sugar fiend I used to be when I was little, but younger me preferred Coke.

Calls or texts: I call family members if it’s been a while since I’ve talked to them, and I also use phone calls when I have to explain something that I’m either (1) too lazy to do through texts since the explanation is long, or (2) lowkey unable to do since I’m much better at speaking than writing in Korean. Otherwise, I pretty much communicate through messages/texts.

Ever met a celebrity?: Do judges and international officials from the UN count? I got to meet a few when I was studying abroad in the Netherlands. I also met with Hannah Song (President and CEO of Liberty in North Korea) when I was a summer intern for a leadership program in Koreatown, Los Angeles.

Ah, but to actually answer the question in terms of pop culture people, the majority of the celebs I’ve met in recent memory are from university events/performances/shows, and include:

David So, a YouTube comedian. He gives pretty good hugs btw~

Dumbfoundead, Korean-American rapper.

Jay Pharoah, SNL comedian.

Judah Friedlander, actor who’s probably best known for 30 Rock; I took like five pictures with him in various poses lol.

JuNCurryAhn, an amazing YouTube violinist. He’s adorable in person.

Mike Song, founding member of Kinjaz and former member of Kaba Modern (the dance crew that stole my heart on ABDC).

Shin Lim, a world-champion magician. Seriously, check out his Penn and Teller episode he’s legit a wizard; also watching him live was fucking insane!!!

There are a few more celebs (mostly Asian-American artists lol, since I was hugely involved in the Asian culture clubs in university), but I can’t remember them all, since “meeting” them mostly consisted of taking pictures and small talk. Though for a few of the people on this list (especially the ones close to college age), I hung out with them during the post-event party and stuff. Pretty entertaining to see a magician renowned for slight-of-hand play beer pong. :3c

Also, I just realized that everyone on this list is male, lmao...I did meet several Asian female rappers/singers from college events, but for the life of me I can’t remember their names. :’)))

Ah, to rectify that - when I was in junior high, I saw Jennette McCurdy at the Anaheim East West Ice Palace. My brother and I spent a solid five minutes elbowing each other and muttering “Isn’t that Sam from iCarly?” / “No way!” / “Isn’t she supposed to be an ice skating pro?” / “Why would she come here?” / “Dude, she lives in the SoCal area and this place is home to the legendary Michelle Kwan, why wouldn’t she come here?” / “Wait, I don’t even like iCarly, so why are we talking about this?”. Then the poor girl started getting swarmed by a crowd of preteens asking for her autograph, so my brother and I decided to just let her be and skated off peacefully.

As a final note to this long list, when I was in elementary school, I think I might have seen Tim Allen in an Apple Store? I wasn’t sure because the guy was wearing shades, so I just walked past him without doing anything.

Smiles or eyes: EYE SMILES. tbh one of the reasons I love Shukashuu is her great eye smiles!!!

Country or city?: City. I’ve spent time in both while in Korea, and hands-down I’ve gotta pick city for (1) internet, (2) heating/air conditioning, (3) well-connected public transit, and (4) showering instead of having to go the old-fashioned route of drawing the bath.

ALL EXCELLENT SHIPS except unpopular (?) opinion, I liked Sam and Eileen better as friends and truly did not feel any chemistry whatsoever when they shifted them to being a couple, and I also feel like Eileen lost a lot of her spark once the relegated her to Love Interest. I think Sam deserved more friends on this show and I found it frustrating that everyone he got to have the primary connection with was a woman who then became Love Interest, which is why I love Sam/Rowena so much. I know people shipped that a lot but I was so RELIEVED that Sam got to HAVE A FRIEND!!!! A WOMAN!!!!! JUST AS A FRIEND!!!! And then he still had to kill her because the writers hate Sam but I’ll take my small victories. Sam/Jess is so sweet like I know we meet Jess for like 15 seconds but I love her, I really do, and I think about Sam/Jess so much in the what could have been way. SASTIEL is /THEE/ Cas ship actually, sorry not sorry. They are SO fun when they’re together, and the whole dynamic of Cas going from ‘greetings blood freak’ to ‘nothing is worth losing you’??? HELLO!!!!! Human dude who feels unclean and is constantly clinging to faith and looking to divinity for absolution combined with angel that meets him because he’s following orders and who slowly becomes disillusioned with a system he sees as corrupt!!!!! Also Sam like... is actually nice to Cas and frankly if the whole Wall Thing hadn’t happened, I would be like shouting Sastiel from the rooftops but unfortunately, I am not willing to forgive transgressions against Sam Winchester (except for Dean, he sometimes gets a pass. S9!Dean do not interact). I loveeeee Sam/Ruby. It is fucked up and ugly and manipulative and I love fucked up dynamics (hence why I watch the show lol) and the chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS, and I also think there is something distinctly dark and fucked up and Very Supernatural of it to end with Sam holding her in place so Dean can stab her. Like the natural conclusion of anything coming in between Sam and Dean, Dean’s intense hatred of her that stems from jealousy, fucked up crossed wires bond phallic symbol etc., etc., there have been better metas written about this by people who are not me.

14)   Character most like you. Do you identify with them yes/no?

I /think/ I am a Dean-coded Sam-girl, as I am also an eldest sibling with mommy issues who would kill and die for Sam Winchester, but tbh, realistically, I am a combination of Kevin Tran Advanced Placement and the werewolf college student in Bitten who says he gets a workplace romance vibe off Sam and Dean. But tbh, no, I don’t identify with anyone on this show, everyone is fucked up and SHOULD go to therapy but it’s fun to watch them not do that. I think if they hadn’t brought him back, I’d unironically say s4/s5 Chuck is most like me because my job is writing and I do an absolutely mediocre job at it, and I also suck at taking care of myself and also putting on real clothes.

17)   What’s an aspect of SPN people often point to as a flaw that you really enjoy?

The codependency!!! Like... it’s the point of the show. The premise of a show cannot be its flaw. Like if Sam and Dean were normal, healthy brothers, with normal boundaries, there wouldn’t actually be a show anymore and that’s /why/ they only really hint at breaking that codependency in the finale (depending on how you interpret the finale/heaven reunion, I guess). If they did it any sooner, the show would fall apart. The reason I always came back to Supernatural was because Sam and Dean’s relationship is one of the most interesting, fucked up things I’ve ever seen in fiction. Like to quote Lisa THEE Braeden, they “have the most unhealthy, tangled up, crazy thing that I've ever seen.”

25)   You can only watch one season for the rest of your life. Which one?

So like my gut answer for this is 4, because it’s the first season I ever saw and it’s my favourite because of a) nostalgia and b) ADAM MILLIGAN (ghoul edition), but to be quite honest, watching S4 without being able to watch the rest would suck for real. 4 is so good because it’s the perfect culmination of everything set up in 1-3 and it’s ALSO setting up 5. Like it’s so tight, the stakes are so good, etc. Standalone, it would just make me miserable like... you’re telling me I have to watch the Sam/Dean hotel room fight and not see them work through All That in S5? NO.

So the actual answer is season 2. Because WHAT A SEASON. Most of the episodes contribute to the bigger season arc, the MOTW eps are excellent, both brothers are grappling with something really significant, I LOVE Azazel’s special children so so so much, and literally name a better two hours of TV than All Hell Breaks Loose.... come ON. Everyone peaked here. The performances, the plot, the aesthetic??? They finally get Azazel but what is the cost? WHAT IS THE COST? It sets up so much for everything to happen later on but it’s such a good, tight standalone season that I can watch it solo forever and feel fulfilled. LITERALLY EVERY EPISODE HITS!! PLAYTHINGS NIGHTSHIFTER BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN HOUSES OF THE HOLY IT JUST KEEPS GOING!!!

Sam Winchester IS bisexual, that’s why he summons multiple male crossroads demons, that’s why he wants to know about the Crowley/Bobby kiss, that’s why he never identifies as straight and never flips out when anyone thinks he’s gay, that’s why he describes past relationships in gender neutral terms, that’s why he has blurry spouse of ambiguous gender (thank you jarpad king!), that’s why Dean constantly microaggresses him and calls him gay. He and Brady dated in college before Jess, Crowley was fully telling the truth when he said Brady and Sam had a history and he was his demon lover. Brady x Ruby x Sam hell throuple WHEN!!!!! Other evidence that is not damning, but should be considered: can’t sit on chairs normally, calls wreath ‘yummy’, is theatre kid, is bonded w/ English teacher, did take art history course, tension w/ random bartenders, I COULD KEEP GOING.
