A REUNION LIKE NO OTHER

authors note: Buckle in, it’s a long one! I went against the poll and wrote both the first and second voted pieces WHOOPS. Anyways, took a lot of creative liberties here due to my strong ass baby fever atm hope we enjoy :)

cw: reader is pregnant and married to Link, One used of Y/n.

summary: When your husband goes missing, you're determined to find him no matter what.

Things are never ordinary with your husband Link. Afterall, he is the hero of Hyrule, but from the moment he appeared bloody and battered on your doorstep things have never been normal. You followed him across the reaches of the world to save the society you love, settled in Hateno village together and eventually married there. You even fell pregnant with his child and was happier than ever. That was, until he disappeared.

Your husband was gone on another expedition with the Princess, yet this time he was more reluctant due to your impending birth date. You assured him you would be fine, giving him a sweet kiss on his forehead. Your charming husband, always so compassionate till the end.

Three days later you are knitting some baby mittens when a strong rumble knocks the cottage. Shrieks are heard from the village and birds erupt from the luscious trees, as a sturdy stag leaps out of the brush to gallop on your front lawn. Chaos ensues, but you have no reason to focus on the absurdities. Clutching your heavy belly as you burst indoors, you hide under the table for cover. The cottage still rumbles violently underfoot, but all you can think about is your husband and unborn baby. You can’t live without them, you just can’t.

But the earthquake is gone as fast as it came, and the small quaint town is quiet once again. Deep breath in, deep breath out. You’re safe, you’re fine and everything is normal. But of course, you can’t get up. You struggle and twist, trying to get up but you just cannot seem to. Going against the growing embarrassment in your mind, you call for help. After two hours or so of incessant yelling, Dantz the local farmer appears at your doorstep.

“Ma’am, are you alright?” He asks, after promptly helping you up. “Was that an earthquake?” you ask, expecting a nod or affirmation in response but instead, you are faced with an empty, almost regretful face. “What was it Dantz?” A long silence ensues, as he looks at his shoes, seemingly searching for an answer in their mud and holes.  

Finally, he looks up, meeting your eyes with an intensity and fear you have never seen before in the once solemn man. “The castle it… It floated…” Surely he’s joking right? Because Link just went there with Zelda and- “Link…” You realise, the emotions hitting you like a brigade. “What about him?” “He was at the castle with the princess! Are you sure that’s what happened?” He nods, and your heart sinks. “Yes, I’m sure. I was hunting up in the mountains when it rose, I had a view as clear as day. I swear the thing just lifted up, with the evil smoke joining it and the heavens opening up above. But he must be fine, he is the sworn hero of our land after all.”

Tears swell in your eyes. What does this mean? You’re no stranger to your husband’s strength and talent, but you can’t help but fear the worst in this situation. A few of the village women burst through the doors, surely knowing of your distress with the situation. “Oh sweetheart…” One empathises, sitting you onto a chair and wiping away the now gushing tears on your face as the other sends the man to find out more news. You were never really close to the people of the village, as you were in a strange in-between age and kept yourself in a quiet haven with Link. But in this moment, they felt like mothers to you, reassuring you and keeping you and the baby safe.

The next couple of days were agonisingly slow, with no news of Link or Zelda’s whereabouts. The women assured you that it’s because they are still exploring, but you had the wits to know otherwise. When Link had to go on the mission, he swore he would be back as soon as possible. “I’ll be safe, I promise.” He said, sadness in his deep blue eyes despite your assurance you will be fine.

But now you may never be fine. No one will let you leave the house, pampering you with food and gifts just like Link used to do. Whenever they come to visit you the first thing they say is “no news” because they know that what’s on your mind. So, when you gain wind of a group of people from the village going to Hyrule field to begin a search you leapt at the chance to join them, just wanting to find your husband and return to normality once again.

No one stopped you. You may be nine months pregnant, but you are still the woman who aided Link in his journey and have a piercing stare that could scare a bear into defeat. A complex woman you are, sweet but strong, empathetic but harsh. So, packed onto carriages with others hoping to find Link and supplies to set up a temporary camp your journey begins, just praying for his return to be soon. You’ve heard about falling rocks, sinkholes leading to the unknown and the resurrection of Ganon’s monsters, but it wasn’t until you laid your own eyes on them that it became real.

Multiple bokoblins and some sort of monstrosity lead bokoblin interrupted your journey, causing a few men to become injured. One of these unfortunate men fell into a satanic dark goop, which caused him severe immobility. You pray to Hylia that Link will know how to fix this once he comes back.

And there it was, the castle in all it’s infernal glory. As the others set up the camp, you sit starstruck at the sight above you. Not that you could help anyways, with a human growing inside you. Deep down, you already know what you are faced with. This is a great evil, worse than ever before and ever will be. If Link couldn’t prevent this, you fear no one can.

Although you desperately want to stay hopeful, the week following your arrival shows no light at the end of the tunnel. You can barely sleep, gathering information from those around you on all the recorded sightings of Zelda. No Link though. A chef at the lookout tells you that perhaps it’s just a coincidence no one has seen your husband, although you’re not so sure. He’s strong, so strong in fact that if he was alive, he would be with you right now. But he’s not, instead you are on your own praying for his arrival.

Two weeks have now passed, and you sit in the bunker where everyone sleeps at the dead of night. So many of your new friends have become sick from this substance you now call gloom, it seems as if an apocalypse is upon you. Purah has been making towers to survey the lands easier, which you hope sheds a new light on your expedition. If it doesn’t, you don’t know what to do with yourself. Staring at the goddess statue, you have nothing left to do but pray.

“Oh goddess Hylia, please grant me your blessing to find my husband. Our child will join us any day now, and I do not what them to live without him. Without knowing his smile, his voice or his warmth is something I would never wish on our child. What kind of mother would I be if I willingly raised a child in the pits of hell such as this? Please grant this grace to my child, if not to me.” Tears now stream down your weak face, such desperation you have never felt before this moment. You tried to stay quiet in your prayers, but at this point you just give up, wailing and choking on the force of emotion. A crowd soon surrounds you, failing to sooth your despair, but all it does it make things worse. If Link were here, he could calm you down. In fact, if Link were here none of this would have even happened, and you would be safe and sound at home. You are now filled with intense rage at this fact, because in the end he has left you all alone. How could he? He promised, he promised, he promised, he-

Thick wet liquid drips onto the floor, and your hyperventilation subsidies. Oh no… You’re giving birth! Another woman beside you also connects the dots, and jumps into action effortlessly. “Quick, get the nurse, she’s giving birth!” She says, as you pant at the pushing sensation that overcomes you. A couple of men lead your staggering body over to a bed, where you lie down. “Link…” You call, somehow expecting him to appear at your side. But he doesn’t, your alone, with no husband here to aid you…

You push and you scream and you kick, just wanting this Hylia forsaken thing to get out of you. Someone grabs your hand to soothe you, but you soon push them away. It’s no use, you feel as if you are dying, your insides splitting and spilling forth. Strings of curses leave your mouth as the final wave of pain subsides about three hours later, and is replaced by the piercing screams of a newborn baby.

“It’s a girl!” The nurse exclaims, which is followed by the ruckus applause of the landing members. You were never one to thirst for attention, and now is no exception, as you anxiously await holding your daughter in your arms. As the nurse is cleaning up, she asks what the babies name will be. “Navi. Link has always loved that name, it seems only fair that’s who she is.”

Baby Navi overtakes your life, almost causing you to forget why you gave birth so far from home and without Link. You don’t forget it though, because every moment you look to your side or call his name he isn’t there, and grief over takes your body. A month has gone by, and no one will let you join the search. Therefore, you spend most days sitting with Navi outside of Lookout Landing telling her about her father.

“He has blonde hair and blue eyes, just like you. They sparkle when he laughs like yours too, but he doesn’t scream nearly as much as you do. In fact, he’s quite the opposite. He’s a quiet man, but if you’re lucky he’ll tell you a story about his travels. I’m sure he will tell you everything soon, he won’t shut up once he gets to know you.” The sweet girl laughs, acting as if she understands what you are saying. At only a month old, she already is so cheerful and loud. You wish Link was here to see her.

You get lost in this thought, looking up at the castle. If only they let you join them, you could find him, surely. Although, they don’t have to let you do anything. If there is one think your husband taught you, it’s to do what makes you happy. Despite his great responsibility, Link found joy and determination in the littlest things. He would go on impromptu expeditions and quests, even if it made him seem insane because that’s what he like doing. Helping others, and having fun.

So why do you have to listen to them? You go inside to the camp and stride over to nurse who has been helping you with Navi. “Are you able to babysit for a second? I just want to go on a little walk.” You ask, a sweet smile plastered on your face. She graciously agrees, thus giving you a moment to yourself. Trekking up the hilled path of the castle, you go over in your mind exactly where he may be. If he was underground and the castle lifted up, would he still be underground or was he taken up in the ruckus? It’s most likely that he is underground, but he does often climb up to peaks to survey the land.

“Ma’am, what are you doing here?” Hoz, the leader of the expedition asks, with a group of men in tow. “Oh, I’m just here to help. And no, you needn’t worry about me. I’m perfectly fine to join you” You rebut, giving them no time to argue with you. “Are you, sure? I wouldn’t want you getting hurt, and neither would our hero Link.” “No, I’m fine. I know the most about Link, I even travelled with him. I am the most equipped to search.” “Okay then, if you insist. Well, we are all splitting up into different areas to cover more ground. Why don’t you go with my team to the east?”

You go with the group to the designated spot, leaving no time for pleasantries. Once you stop on an out perch, you deliver the needed instructions. “Okay men, here’s what’s going to happen. Five people are going to go to that section, five there and the rest with me. I think Link climbed to the top of the castle to get a view, and we may find some clues there. Otherwise, checking the armour room may be a good idea. If he’s been inside there will be some weapons missing. Any questions?” You scan your eyes across the group, but no one seems to be paying attention. Instead, their eyes seem to be lying behind you, with a bewildered look on their faces.

Rolling your eyes, you turn around. You should have just gone on your own, instead of with these boys who just want to- behind you stands a man, short in stature but with long blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes piercing your soul. They swell with tears, a soft smile on his pink lips.

“Y/n.” The man says, who could only be your husband. You ponder the idea that he is merely a figment of your imagination, but once he says your name everything crashes down. Blinded by his face you sprint forward, as he runs towards you also. You throw your complete weight onto the man who stumbles backwards, but he doesn't seem to care as he laughs and you cry, spinning you around and around.

Finally he puts you down, eyes stuck on yours and the largest smile on his face. “Oh Link I was so worried! I had the baby and I missed you so so much!” “You, you had the baby?” He asks, stepping back to look at your stomach. You nod furiously. “She’s a girl.”

“Navi?” He asks, already knowing the name which causes another nod in response. Your just so happy, you don’t even notice the crowd forming around you. You grab his arm, looking down at your gorgeous husband to see…

“Link!!” You jump back, shocked by the sight of a green warped arm on his body. He nods, looking down also. “We were attacked. I don’t know where Zelda got to, but she teleported away and I woke up with this strange arm.” You look back up at his eyes. They’re full of regret and remorse, as if he somehow failed a mission from long ago. You know he didn’t fail though, because he tried so hard to keep both her and everyone safe.

It doesn’t matter though, because he is here with you. Your family is reunited, in a reunion like no other.

Who would you say is your favorite lady from pathologic?

Oooo!! Eva, 100%. But closely followed by Clara.

They are all really interesting characters in their own rights, and even the ones I’m not actively crazy over or don’t get much focus from the narrative have something cool going on. Putting this under a cut since it’s kinda long but here’s a few reasons why I love every Patho lady :) (Mostly based off the Classic versions of the characters, with some elements from 2 thrown in for flavor) I’m also on my phone with no access to a computer atm, so I apologize for any spelling/formatting errors. Ideally I’d source dialogue from the github as well, but the mobile verson is a pain to navigate.

Eva: I love Eva for her kindness and willingness to try and help even though she is pretty powerless in the narrative (her trying to get Daniil to help the runaway butchers), and her eventual sacrifice is tragic. Every time I visit the Stillwater after day 7 there is something missing. I think her conversations with Daniil are also really sweet (I personally read it as a little romantic though I know many people don’t). I also tend to sleep in the Stillwater as Artemy and Clara because I find it the most homey + I find the presence of Eva to genuinely be pretty comforting in an extremely stressfull game.

Clara: Why I like Clara is a little harder to define tbh. Her ending is my favorite though and her character concept is inherently cool to me. She wants to do good and help people, but what is good can be hard to do, especially when you are either treated as a saint or a demon with practically no middle ground. Her plea for the player to “please define me” strikes a chord with me as someone currently trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Maria: My lovely lady. I find her pretty striking. Many characters hold her up to be almost a goddess (like Nina), but she feels very human when you talk to her. She’s charming, flirtatious, and sometimes even a little awkward and unsure. Her grief over Nina is touching (I think at one point she says she’s going to go to sleep and dream of Nina, and calls her mommy) and a very humanizing element. Her conversation on day 11 with Daniil in Nina’s tomb is such an interesting exploration of her philosophy.

Anna: First of all, I just find clowns and a circus aesthetic pretty fun. Anna is also genuinely pretty funny (“I’m going to bribe my haters away!”) and I always love going to chat with her. I think the key to me sympathizing more with her as a character was finding out that she’s still pretty young (the wiki puts her at 18 based on the character concepts, which makes a lot of her behavior make a certain amount of sense even when not accounting for the caravan trauma).

Anna is also a sort of changeling herself due to her being used in the caravan for their kidnapping plots, and changing her appearence (though I do regcognize the anti-Romani steryotyping present here). There’s also a lot of mystery present in her character even with the explaination given and I think that could be a cool jumping off point for theories and fanworks.

Ultimately I find Anna interesting as an exploration of trauma, mental illness, the cycle of abuse, and guilt. She never really had a chance in life to be a better person due to the caravan. I do think she wants to be a better person (“helping” Lara, her ultimate sacrifice), but is held back by her trauma, selfishness, phobias, and need for validation, leading her to harm others even more vulnerable than herself (Willow). I think I remember her saying that she’s illiterate in P2. I don’t have a point in bringing that up really besides to emphasise that she doesn’t even have many practical skills. I think she might be another favorite actually.

Lara: I like Lara much for the same reason I like Eva, in that they are both kind and generous ladies who have been made a bit helpless by the narrative and ultimately decide the best way to help is self sacrifice. I just want to protect her (her crying after her beads are found in the cathedral?! Girl come here). I think Lara and Eva share a lot of things in common (including being depressed) but present very differently. Something I think goes overlooked in discussions of Lara is her link with the Olgimskys— Big Vlad built her house and is able to extort her (wanting to use it as the isolation ward, Vlad Jr getting her involved in the medicine tests, the day 6 blood tests) despite all the Olgimskys claiming to be fond of her. Part of her stated motivation for why she helps people is to help restore the Ravel name. So, something fishy is going on there I think.

My theory is that her father wasn’t a great person (probably worked for the Olgimskys in some way before leaving for war), but he did love Lara and perhaps Lara didn’t find out about any fishy business until she grew up. I think it would be interesting if her character had to struggle between a genuine love for her father (culminating in her attempted vengence), while knowing his potential crimes and attempting to make up for it (would also explain why she is part of Clara’s bound of criminals besides the whole trying to shoot Block thing, and Aspity’s dislike of her). Of course, that’s just my speculation though.

Aspity: Another lady with many wonderful funny conversations. I find her insistance that she’s the shabnak or the plague made manifest fascinating. While she isn’t either of those, she is some sort of steppe spirit, being a “reminder” of the first outbreak. My theory is she is a manifestation or memory of the people that died in the first outbreak (many of whom were poor, many of which were likely Kin). I think this would explain Isidor’s distaste for her (perhaps guilt-driven), her devotion to Artemy despite not being his bound, and her being Clara’s bound (these people dying so that the rest may live).

Her being the executor of Artemy’s inheritence, and hiding part of it from him out of fear for what the inheritence would entail also has really cool implications for her character and it’s a shame that was cut from P2.

Yulia: The founder of the Humble ideology herself. I wish she had some more screentime. Ultimately I don’t have as much to say about her besides some base observations, but I do like her and find her interesting!! Her fatalistic experiments are part of some of the most interesting quests in the game imo (in terms of dialogue). Her appeals to rationality despite her being pretty mystical. Lesbianism win. Thinking about it, she actually has a Lot of parallels with Daniil. I think I’ll write some more about her once I have my computer back and can source dialogue/give myself a refresher on her character.

Katerina: Katerina is such a tragic figure. I can only imagine what it was like for her to come to the town young and full of life, meeting Nina and Victoria, to try and desperately meet the expectations of the Saburov family and their long history, trying to be Nina, trying to be Victoria… Katerina spent so much time trying to be other people that she never really got to be herself. So many people dismiss her and treat her solely as a morphine addict or a witch, and that has to be hard. The way she oscilates between being loving and cruel to Clara. Her back was broken on the wheel of fortune.

Aglaya: There is so so so much to say about her and I think she deserves a full character analysis. But to keep it short, god what a character. The ambiguity of how much her hatred of the Polyhedron is related to her hatred of the Kains (I think Victor even says that she was “always a mean little girl” at one point). Her brutality. Her humanism. Her genuinely sweet love for Artemy. Her relationship with the Powers that Be (both on the base narrative level and the twist level). Breaking character to taunt her?! She’s so contradictory and yet it makes sense.

I only did the adult women here, but there’s still so much to say about the Termite girls (esp Capella!). Hopefully this wasn’t too rambley, but I had a lot of fun writing this and would love to hear about everyone’s favorite Patho lady! There are so many things I didn’t get to say in this that I would love to write more about in the future.

Week 18: My time abroad comes to an end :)

Hi Readers,

Welcome to my last blog post of the semester abroad! I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my experiences with you all. I’ll soon post a reflection on my entire semester abroad, so stay tuned. Apologies for this post coming out later than usual; it’s been a hectic time wrapping things up and taking exams.

Monday, May 13th - My week started with a trip to my aunt’s place in Malleswaram, Bangalore, which is very much in the center of the city. Malleswaram is a charming neighborhood known for its traditional homes, bustling markets, and historic temples. I navigated the city using the metro, which I found to be super clean and efficient. In the evening, I visited Orion Mall and was shocked to see every major European boutique and American casual fashion store there. It’s fascinating how globalized retail has become. For dinner, I got to eat at an Indian Taco Bell and enjoyed a mango milkshake, a quirky blend of familiar fast food with local flavors.

Tuesday, May 14th

I started the day with a morning run around Malleswaram, enjoying the vibrant street life and local parks. My mission for the day was to find an ATM of a specific bank that would work with international cards and dispense Indian rupees. This hunt took me through various parts of the neighborhood, giving me a deeper appreciation for the daily hustle and bustle of Bangalore. In the evening, I explored Cubbon Park, a vast green oasis in the middle of the city. The park is home to numerous species of plants and trees, making it a perfect escape from the urban chaos. I also visited Vidhan Soudha, the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka, an Indian state, an imposing building with stunning architecture. Dinner was a delightful experience of Indo-Chinese street food, followed by a refreshing milkshake and some kulfi, a traditional Indian frozen dessert.

Wednesday, May 15th

Today, I managed to go for another run, this time exploring MG Road, the heart of Bangalore’s shopping district. MG Road is a bustling commercial area lined with shops, restaurants, and offices. I indulged in some retail therapy, exploring various stores and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. For lunch, we went to Burma Burma, an authentic Burmese restaurant. The food was exquisite, and it was interesting to compare it with the diverse culinary experiences I’ve had throughout my travels.

Thursday & Friday, May 16th & 17th

I spent the next few days in Whitefield, located in the eastern part of Bangalore. Whitefield has an interesting history, as it was established in the late 1800s as a settlement for the Eurasian and Anglo-Indian communities of Bangalore. Over the years, it has transformed into one of the major hubs for the IT industry in India, hosting numerous multinational companies and tech parks.

During my stay in Whitefield, I spent most of my time with my cousins, who are 15 and 8 years old. We had a blast playing cricket with the kids from their apartment complex. Cricket, being almost a religion in India, provided a great way to bond with my cousins and the local children. The evenings were filled with laughter and delicious home-cooked meals, a refreshing change from the dining experiences I’ve had abroad.

Saturday, May 18th

The highlight of today was going to Saatvam, a vegetarian lunch buffet renowned for its vast array of dishes. The restaurant offers hundreds of exotic and tasty vegetarian options, each dish bursting with unique flavors and textures. It was a gastronomic adventure, exploring the diverse culinary heritage of India through this vegetarian feast. The attention to detail and the emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients made it a memorable dining experience.

Reflecting on the Journey

As I wrap up my final blog post, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey this semester has been. From the bustling streets of Paris to the serene parks of Bangalore, each experience has been a learning opportunity, broadening my horizons and enriching my understanding of the world. Studying abroad at ENSEA in Cergy, France, has been an eye-opener in many ways, pushing me to adapt to new environments and embrace diverse cultures.

Bangalore, with its blend of tradition and modernity, has been a perfect place to conclude my travels. The city’s rich history, from its origins as a small settlement to its current status have been amazing to explore.

As I prepare to return to Michigan, I look forward to sharing more about my experiences and the lessons I’ve learned in my upcoming reflection post. Thank you for following along on this journey with me. Your support and encouragement have made this experience even more special.

IS YOUR CHARACTER POPULAR IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO. [ She is mayhap one of the most famous characters in the entire franchise as well as one of the oldest and who has suffered the most because of the fandom’s misconceptions. ]

IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED HOT™ IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK. [ Once more, yes, she’s definitely seen as one of the hottest characters in the game. I suppose that this has both good sides and bad sides? Especially when you encounter people who refuse to see past her physique. ]

IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED STRONG IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK. [ Ahri might not be the strongest character in the fandom but she’s certainly not weak either. What she cannot accomplish with mere physical strength alone, she can accomplish thanks to her charming abilities so she’s definitely a strong and dangerous opponent to face. ]

ARE THEY UNDERRATED?   YES / NO / IDK. [ Yes and no at the same time? People love and hate her in equal measure but, after writing as her for so many years, I have also come to realize that few are the ones who actually pay attention to her lore and to her depth as a character. I’d say that her fame has made people blind towards who she really is and this is very sad. ]

WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN STORY?   YES / NO, she’s more on the neutral side.

WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN CHARACTER?    YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ LOL doesn’t really have a main character or someone who’s inherently more important than others: everyone is the main character of their own specific story. This is why she is relevant to those who encounter her and those who have come to become part of her tale ; for the rest of the world, however, she’s nothing more than a vulpine vastaya with a pretty face. ]

ARE THEY WIDELY KNOWN IN THEIR WORLD?   YES / NO. [ Ahri is well known in Ionia due to her past as a vicious man-eater. However, such tales and legends belong to ages long passed and no one would be capable of discerning her true identity by simply looking at her ; this is why even fellow vastayas and ionians are usually unaware of her relation to the beast that devoured entire villages. As far as the whole world is concerned, no, she’s definitely not known by the majority. ]

HOW’S THEIR REPUTATION?   GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ I’d say that her reputation is definitely bad. As previously mentioned, she carved her name in the legends of Ionia with her undying hunger and through the unfair massacre of many innocent souls ; although such legends do not carry her name, you can still find visual depictions of the vixen who spread chaos and havoc through the holy lands. In the present days, she is still considered as someone who should not be trusted: rumors about what she is capable of have spread and only fools are willing to consciously approach someone who might easily dine on their souls and hearts. ]

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?   —   I began writing as Ahri many years ago, which means that her lore has been twisted and modified quite some times from the very beginning. Although I do follow her present canon and I do adore every little detail that has been shared in pursuance of giving her more depth, I cannot really leave behind everything that I have developed in the past years. An easy example is the fact that my Ahri is still loosely based on the Korean myth of the “Gumiho��, which is a detail that plays an extremely important part in my portrayal: Ahri is, in fact, more beast than woman, is someone whose morals will always linger in the darkest shades of gray, is someone who adores violence and who has yet to properly harbor any type of guilt for everything that she has done thus far ; another detail is the fact that she devours souls as much as she can indulge in the flavor of hearts and livers as well. So, I would say that my Ahri is canon but with her own little twists?

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.   —   Ahri is an incredibly complex creature, someone whose very existence is quite paradoxical for she represents both death and the maiden at the same exact time. She can be cruel and heartless as much as she can be gentle and dulcet, she is always greedy for knowledge and there is nothing that she adores as much as listening to someone’s stories or learning new facts about a world that is still oh so foreign to her. She’s beautiful, elegant, has the fluffiest tails you will ever see and she’s definitely the best cuddle buddy! Despite her murderous nature, there is something oddly soothing about her company that will naturally lure you closer. 

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).   —  Ahri is not a good person, not even a good animal. She’s incredibly instinctive and easily becomes victim to her own whims and desires and feelings: if she decides that she wants something, she will not stop in front of anything in pursuance of quenching her thirst. Because of this, she’s a huge liar, she’s manipulative and sly and dishonest, she knows the weaknesses of those around her and does not hesitate to exploit them in pursuance of elevating herself to a higher plane. She’s not easy to deal with because she will rarely say the truth and will rarely allow others to come close to her ; it doesn’t matter who the other person is, her first instinct will always be that of hunting them.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   —   I was asked to write as this muse many years ago by a friend of mine. I didn’t even like her at first... I thought that she was nothing more than some easy fanservice for the game but I am so glad that I changed my mind because she has ultimately become my favorite muse and someone I always come back to, no matter how many years have passed. 

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?   —   Poetry is perhaps my strongest inspiration when it comes to Ahri! Poetry and visuals of idyllic landscapes, of flowers in bloom, of porcelain marred by blood. Music might sometimes help too (for example I do tend to listen to the OST of “Memoirs of a Geisha” whilst writing replies) but I’d say that poetry is indeed my strongest inspiration, it’s the one thing that makes me think of other aspects of her and that continues to fuel my motivation to be here.

DO YOU THINK YOU GIVE YOUR CHARACTER JUSTICE?   YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? [ I’m extremely hesitant and nervous about my portrayal, so... I do hope that the people I write with might eventually begin to enjoy my portrayal of Ahri. ]

DO YOU FREQUENTLY WRITE HEADCANONS?   YES / NO / SORT OF? [ I think of headcanons very often but I must say that I haven’t posted too much on this blog lately. Some of them got stolen, others got ignored and... That lowkey killed my motivation to openly post the ideas I have about my muse. This is however something that I plan on changing soon! ]

DO YOU SOMETIMES WRITE DRABBLES?   YES / NO [ It depends on my inspiration or on the prompt I am given. ]

DO YOU THINK A LOT ABOUT YOUR MUSE DURING THE DAY?   YES / NO

ARE YOU CONFIDENT IN YOUR PORTRAYAL?   YES / NO / SORT OF? [ Not really... I love my Ahri, I love the headcanons that I have developed for her and I adore the interactions that she has had during this time, but... I’m always scared of people’s bad judgement, of being seen as uninteresting or as not talented enough to portray such a complex character. ]

ARE YOU CONFIDENT IN YOUR WRITING?   YES / NO / A LITTLE BIT. [ I believe that I can still improve, especially considering that my writing style is constantly changing. But I am not too sad about it! ]

ARE YOU A SENSITIVE PERSON?   YES / NO. / SORTA.

DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?   —   As long as the criticism comes with the intent of helping me to improve my portrayal, then yes, I do accept it well because it would allow me to look at things from a different point of view and thus help me to realize in which fields I am currently lacking. Due to the fact that the LOL characters can be quite ‘loose’ when it comes to their canons (especially in the case of those who weren’t given much material to work with in the first place), I do believe that everyone can take quite a large amount of creative freedom when portraying them ; however, I do realize that some of my headcanons might sound weird to someone else and I have absolutely nothing against explaining my side of things, the reasons that have motivated me to make Ahri behave in a certain way instead of another. Criticism is always good, as long as it’s not accompanied by free hatred. 

DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU TO EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?   —  Absolutely yes! I love it when people come and ask for more information about Ahri or when I receive really curious anons about the most mundane aspects of her life.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?   —  Why not? I might not drop the headcanon since I’m still certain that I am the person who knows my muse the most but I’m not against discussing things with another person, especially if our points of view are really that different. 

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?   —  I admit that I’d be sad over it since I’m well aware of how much passion and effort I am constantly pouring in my portrayal. However, that wouldn’t be the end of the world! There are so many beautiful Ahris out there who have taken a different path from me and thus developed their muses in a different manner, so I’d just suggest to the person to try and interact with them instead. 

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?   —  Ah, you would be surprised to know how many people hate Ahri in the fandom! What saddens me is the fact that such hatred usually stems from really useless and dumb reasons, such as her being more famous than another champion or her receiving more skins than their fave... Even in the roleplay community, I sometimes encountered people who hated her simply because she was “too famous” and that really annoyed me because it’s groundless bashing with no roots to support it. However, I can understand why someone might dislike a character who’s so manipulative and dishonest! Obviously, I wish that people saw more than just this one side of her, but... We can’t have everything in life, sadly.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?   —   Of course, as long as the person is not rude about it! I am Italian so English is my second language and grammatical errors can and will indeed happen. 

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?   —  I think I am easy going although I am incredibly shy and this... This is a huge problem when it comes to interacting with others since it might take me a while to respond to messages and open up to someone else. This is a side of myself that I truly wish to change and I’m working really hard on abandoning my comfort zone, but... It takes time, a lot of time. However! Despite my shyness, I can assure you that I’m the softest person you will ever meet and that if you manage to make me feel comfy around you, I will not stop speaking about Ahri and about music and about videogames and anything else that we might have in common! Once I do grow close to someone, I love to talk and meme and share things and... I think I also become slightly clingy? But I always mean good, I swear... I’m just a shy bun who wants to have fun and love you :(

How strictly do you follow canon?  — there isnt much canon to go off of i think? the album barely even states if ziggy is an alien and b*wie himself got really wishy washy about it (sometimes saying z is a human who was contacted by aliens, he was an alien himself, etc). i dont think we know anything about him besides what he looks like (red hair / weird eyes / pale / “well hung” lmao) and he has a band called the spiders from mars, he plays the guitar left handed, he’s bisexual + androgynous, and he’s charming and popular with the teens but inevitably is a victim of his own ego. and he dies.  that too.  but that’s literally it! we know Nothing else about him.  so i filled in all the gaps because my brain has worms.  theres a little bit of the story that verges on fantasy (that he’s some sort of messiah messenger for “the infinites,” whatever the fuck THAT means, david) so i nix that because i prefer hard scifi.  and theres one BIG part that i just ... deleted out of his canon, in that the world is ending in 5 years in his timeline, and he’s like ... aware of this ?  but that’s dumb and confusing.  i legit dont care anymore. my OC now.

Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  im so embarrassed i know i could be genuine and actually try but i have brain blockajjolajlakala33lak33klak333ak3jka3akjj323j3 i guess it’s like ... ziggy is truly the ultimate expression OF humanity because he reveals everything both wrong and right about the human condition, he literally embodies the best of humanity and the worst at the same time, he’s a really interesting critique on the idea of genuineness/earnestness vs commercalism in art, the perils of fame, and also how humans are so inherently corrupting?  a lot of thematic stuff i like exploring is like what is innate to humans vs what is learned behavior, what are things that humans do naturally that ziggy mimics out of his desire to be like us?  i think he has a really good story arc -- he went from being a literal nameless CLONE in a society full of pragmatic forward thinking science-oriented people to a sell out rockstar celebrity in a society of people that value individualism and self expression and art, but in the process completely lost his mind and himself and gave into the worst that humanity has to offer like rampant selfishness, drug abuse, self destructive tendencies, etc. characters changing is always interesting and ziggy truly changes for the worse -- but he is never just black and white, he was never good and then suddenly evil, he just was always the same person putting on different facades and trying to be himself by constructing an identity that maybe was who he wanted to be versus who he actually is.  i dont know what im talking about. hes just an alien trying to be too hard to be human in all the wrong ways.   i just like how “gray” ziggy is. he isnt good or bad, he can be very nice and he can be very mean, he’s overtly showboating confident but at the same time deeply afflicted with self-consciousness (why tf else would anyone be So obsessed with how they present themselves?).  hes an icon of individualism but also commercialism.  he’s freakishly alien but is almost more human than humans themselves.  he struggles as lot in his head -- which makes for interesting writing, i guess !!  Im so emabrrased im not going to go back and read what i wrote so if i typoed dont look at me

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  i think ziggy comes across as really mean and nothing else.  his horrible bitchy rudeness comes across as hee hee hoo hoo sassy isnt he a rascal when it’s supposed to be more like ... he’s so far gone into the celebrity delusion he’s conflated aggressive rudeness with charmingness because no one told him otherwise and everyone worships him to the point where he’s just given into the delusion that he can do no wrong.  i think theres the general simplification problem that happens with a lot of fictional characters, it’s easy to see him as just a whacky sassy glittery quirky rockstar when i guess it avoids the inherent tragedy of like ... everything else about him. his totally fake and false sense of identity built up from superficial things like fame and labels and stardom.  maybe my version of ziggy is just too weirdly depressing and sad when i know his original iteration wasn’t quite so ... grim.  im not very sure tbh.  

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  hmmm ... a lot of things! i just really got into b*wie stuff in early 2019, i’ve ALWAYS loved aliens and sci-fi, and i was really shocked that db sets up such great visual storytelling potential but does it through music.  i just really liked ziggys “story” and i like any chance to think about aliens so i just got invested into piecing together a little backstory for him using, like, the cumulative knowledge of literally every other piece of science fiction ive ever consumed in my life.  this was summer 2019 when i was making initial pitches for my thesis film, and so i just randomly decided to pitch “animated version of ziggy stardust” as one of the potential ideas.  shockingly everyone liked it a lot and so did my professor who thought it was really cool, and then i just ended up sticking with the character and working on him for an entire year.  ziggy became my hobby but also my homework.  he was such a fun character because everything about him was interesting to me and i had just enough source material to have a starting point but so much room to take him in any direction i wanted to.

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  honestly, yooooou guyssssss. i have some really amazing fwends that ive met thru here .... and some of our dumb stupid stories have literally become NOVEL length. it just self generates inspiration because you realize the limitless amount of stories you could tell with this one single character when your character enters his story or he enters their story and etc. etc.  ive drawn endless amounts of comics and stuff for him ... ziggy is just so endlessly interesting ...   cringe be cringed bro but recently (i know this sounds dumb bear with me or die.) ive kind of realized a lot of how i rp z comes as some metaphor for the experience of being an asian immigrant/being asian in the US -- his home “culture” is a lot stricter than the rampant selfish individualism of the usa (he only lives in the uk and usa, so he thinks the whole planet is like this), he’s dissuaded from standing out from his community and his selfishness becomes a community burden rather than a personal flaw, and when he does come to earth, he goes through such awful culture shock, literally nothing makes sense to him and everything is Different.  and while some things are different in a Nice way, something things are different in an Awful way, and he’s given the option between losing his true personal identity as an atominan and giving it up to be a human.  the allure of being a human is a little too much but losing yourself like this is traumatic, in a way.  obvs like ... a little silly and definitely not something that i actively intended to put into his story arc, its just something that fell into place cuz i guess i worked so closely with my own personal experiences and feelings of “alienation” (pun intended) to try to understand how he would feel being a literal alien an shid. its cathartic to write about him. but he also has a lot of my own personal interests just thrown in -- 70s fashion, scifi, science, tryhard implications about human nature, art history, whatever dumb nonsense i get into

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  definitely!  like i said ... my version of ziggy ended up being the protag of my thesis film and for 1 yr straight his characterization, backstory, design, and even how i wanted to animate his fucking movements (ziggy stardust timing charts.) were beaten to death in a classroom environment, torn apart and rebuilt into something better.  had i stayed with what i originally wanted to go with, ziggy would be so different than how i write him 2day. amazingly my pre production professor is a literal two time emmy award winning storyboard artist and animator so he definitely helped me design him (my version of ziggy is meant for ... a cartoon, obviously, not real life) and give him a better backstory?  and my post production professor is a retired disney animator who worked on hercules and a bunch of old disney channel shows?  had i gone wah wah wah i dont want to hear ur critiques i wouldnt have made him better.  if you ever think ziggy seems inconsistent or poorly written ... tell me !! i literally major in ... animation. cartoons. entertainment.  my job is to entertain you. if you are not entertained, there is a problem.  ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED ????

Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. It depends on what you mean as popular. Whoever has ever played DA2 knows Orsino because he’s important to the plot (especially in act 3) but the opinions on him are conflicted. like they are on any morally gray character. Still, he is a side character who has like 5 scenes in the entire game, so I believe he’s not getting the attention he deserves.

Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. Orsino certainly is not everyone’s cup of tea, I can say that much. Physical appearance-wise he is very attractive for what he is: a stressed/depressed middle-aged DA2 elf who has seen SomeShit™ in his life. He has aged way more graceful than what he could have, but still, he is in his late 40s/early 50s, which can be a deterrent factor to some; also, the elves in this game have distinctive inhuman-like features that people either love or hate. Personally, I think that there is harmony and beauty in his features, which makes him weirdly pretty to look at and i love the fact that they gave him an hourglass body shape. However, Orsino’s true beauty lies in his personality and his calm, collected, polite demeanor. His voice is another huge bonus.

Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. I mean... he’s a First Enchanter who keeps his knowledge on blood magic and necromancy a secret, there are hints that he’s a somniari mage throughout the game, he has some very badass scenes where he kicks the asses of bigger/stronger opponents than himself when he’s outnumbered AND he has one of the 2 boss battles in the finale of the game. There is no doubt that he is a force to be reckoned with in battle.

Are they underrated? YES / NO / IDK. I think he’s criminally underrated not just by the fandom, but even  the creators of the game, who gave him no backstory, only a handful of scenes and butchered his character just to add another boss battle.

Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. Meeting him along with Knight Commander Meredith and Viscount Dumar earns you an achievement (the “friends in high places” one). He is one of the main antagonists in the third and most crucial part of the game and you can either choose to side with him or oppose him.

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. Lots of elements in the storyline depend on the protagonist’s political views on what’s going on in Kirkwall, and since Orsino is a prominent political figure, he is relevant to the protagonist’s views. He can be either an ally or an opponent, depending to what the protagonist’s views are. Also, he had been involved to the protagonist’s tragic loss of their mother -albeit indirectly-, since he was an informant of the murderer.

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. He’s a controversial but VERY well-known public figure, to the point where he can be recognized in the streets -even if people have never seen him before, they can recognize the staff he carries, his distinctive robes and the fact that he’s an elf (an elven first enchanter is news in itself, so he doesn’t go by unnoticed). The protagonist has heard of him -along with rumors and gossip surrounding him- before he had the chance to meet him in person. He has such influence and people skills that he even carried out a rally to overturn the Knight Commander’s rule of the city and almost succeeded.

How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. Depends on who you ask. Mage sympathizers see him as a brave advocate of his people’s rights who wouldn’t hesitate to put his life on the stake for them. The common folk and the city authorities see him as a potentially dangerous troublemaker and rebel.

How strictly do you follow canon? — I try to follow canon mostly in my canon verse, while taking some artistic liberties due to the lack of a concise backstory. In post-canon verses and au’s, I have taken all the insights on Orsino’s personality, views and way of thinking and I have adapted them to fit each verse’s context.

He has that elegance, cultivation and mystical charm about him; he is morally grey yet charismatic; witty yet cunning and certainly not one to be toyed with. Despite the exterior of a powerful yet restrained scholar he maintains , however, there are many layers to him and each is darker than the last. He can be both the erudite conversation partner you’d like to have an existential conversation with over a glass of good wine, a trusted advisor you’d confide your problems to and a force to be reckoned with who would obliterate you or your enemies in battle, depending on the situation. Still, the First Enchanter has some very vulnerable sides too, but he tries to keep them to himself.

He’s also kind of secluded and not in touch with whatever happens in real life -not just because he lives in the Circle, but because he has been institutionalized, like any other person who has been brought there from a very young age. Also, there is the age gap which can make him a bit harder to reach than someone younger.

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  When I played DA2 for the first time, Orsino piqued my interest because he was the very definition of a tragic figure.  He was the only voice of reason in the madhouse that is Kirkwall; yet he was fighting alone for a just cause that was doomed. He had the whole city and the authorities against him; still, he did not give up trying to protect his people; and he did his best to refrain from violence until the bitter end. His death -a suicide, no matter how you cut it- was equally tragic as the life he led; it was seeing the bringer of hope for mages losing all hope himself and deciding to go fighting and not on his knees. That, combined with his sarcasm and sophistication convinced me that I had to do justice to this poor underappreciated soul and dig deeper into his character -even try to write an alternative ending for him. Hence, this blog was created.

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  My amazing roleplay partners with all the good work they put into their characters and the love they have shown me and my character so far. I love you guys <3

But his personality in the P3 Manga if definitely underrated in my opinion, not too many people talk about the Manga)

HOW’S THEIR REPUTATION?   GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. (As a Paranormal Investigator, all his successful cases have gave him a very good rep within the Ghost Hunting community, it was thanks to his credibility how he was able ro get a

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?   —  (Because I started to RP Minato when there’s wasn’t much games where he didn’t have his personality shown yet(2015)   I based him off more from the Manga’s interpretation of him, But now canon wise in terms of Personality, I still tend to use mostly his Manga personality, but now I’ve added a few small tidd-bits of how he is in the movie and how he is depicted in both PQ’s as well as Dancing In Moonlight.)

Minato is a food loving and very random dork who tends to be quiet and stoic 88% of the time, but he’s very kind, he always puts his friends before himself, he tries his very best to be the best leader he can possibly be and he is an all around easy person to get along with, just expect him to zone out here and there, to sometimes be very weird, VERY random. And expect him to randomly start snacking a lot x3 )

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   —  (I guess it was how I saw him when   I read the Manga. I played P3 FES first, then after beating it, I wanted to read the manga as soon as I found out about it. I also think it was the fact he dies and seeing how his friends grew up without him, it made me really want to see what it would be like if he survived, I guess I felt his death at the end of the game was just a real shame, I suppose I thought he would have been a great character to bring back in future Persona games, I understand the reason for his death and I have nothing against it. It was just that thought I had of “Man Minato could have been so much more if he survived” that drove me to pick him up )

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?   —  (Well, I’ve been in the Persona fandom for 5 years now. Before when I came back, I wasn’t getting many rp’s. But ever since I came back and found an active Fuuka(MinaFuu is a ship I rarely got to rp) so that started it back up, and then it was seeing all these familiar faces(Or blogs in this case xD) come back, my motivation has been through the roof. So I guess the revival of the fandom and the wonderful people of the Persona community has fueled my fire and it keeps on burning for more!)

Most people just call ZPiW the game with anime girls wielding guns. Outside of me, not much fanart is produced of the peach boy, as it’s well, mostly the girls. Miiverse revealed that the ratio is a bit more even but still, peeps really like them girl designs (designed by a female artist) ]

is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ i mean ?? i’ve met and seen many people who have/had crushes on geno so ??????? but i don’t think it’s like. that. ghfskjhgsg??? ]

is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ Personally, I have to say yes. Momotaro is strong as frick because in game, you’re supposed to level towns to “clean them up”. And this is in addition to the traditional Momotaro folktale that, a Momotaro is a strong child who can lift. However, most just look to Snow White as the strongest cuz she dented metal bare handed...and well is the “face” of the game.]

are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. [ This game is better known for having girls...with guns. But I wouldn’t say he’s really *that* underrated, considering the basic character is just that...basic. ]

were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. [ Well, my theory is that he just stumbled upon the fight between survivors and zombies so...kind of yes? Momotaro was one to actually gather folks to storm the castle as they say, because it seems before hand the other heroes were just minding their own business. So, being the one who talks the most (ironically) and the one that the game follows...yeah he’s relevant.]

were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ Sadly so, in the sense that I wished the devs would’ve allowed for branching plots depending on which character you choose. This is including the fact that the game is purposely trying to emulate how old-school games were bare bones in characterizations and plot.]

are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. [ Just another folklore hero in the world of Wonderland...a place chock FULL of fairy tales and folktales. Though he might’ve garnered a reputation of being destructive after ZPiW... ]

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?  —  Ehhhh...I think I make do with what I got from the teeny breadcrumbs of canon I got...however, many folks commented that Momotaro looks WAAAAAAY tougher than what I make him out to be so...I guess that’s a fail for following canon strictly on my part. .w.;; If I truly went 1:1, things may be bland...or not...I mean there’s as many subversions to the traditional heroes as there are well, the typical shounen stuff.

SELL YOUR MUSE! AKA TRY TO LIST EVERYTHING, WHICH MAKES YOUR MUSE INTERESTING IN YOUR OPINION TO MAKE THEM SPICY FOR YOUR MUTUALS.  —  Is Momotaro an OC at this point? Probably. But hey, if you guys want a lad who’s adorable but tough...you could look elsewhere...or you can find that in Momo! I wanted to try to represent some stuff of special needs, but I’m still working out the kinks...but the kid’s loyal, and a very good cook at that! He definitely needs a confidence booster, but could that be part of his charm? Maybe. But hey, I think y’all might really like the idea I got for him, and mainly Smash! Like, have you ever wondered what goes on in that mansion? ...well yes, but what about those who aren’t fighters? Or even assist trophies! That’s where the smash verse comes in! Take a peek into the (tough) lives of Waddle Dees and the peach boy, along with other creatures not suitable for Smash! They’re just as handy for making sure the place is well run and fed! If someone isn’t cleaning and cooking to maintain 70+ fighters, and 20+ assist trophies...who is?

NOW THE OPPOSITE, LIST EVERYTHING WHY YOUR MUSE COULD NOT BE SO INTERESTING (EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT AGREE, WHAT DOES THE FANDOM PERHAPS THINK?).  —  This is a character from a game whose designers may appreciate the female figure a bit too much. I always have a tough time recommending this game to others, and hell, I’m terrible at playing it myself. Hell, the fact that most of the characters are minors is just a...”why do you design them like this Bo.mi” thing. Most do seem to think highly of those designs though, as that’s the main aspect of the game I keep hearing in my searches. Now, I’ve received a good amount of concerns over the years that Momotaro not speaking proper English is either racist or babyish...or both. Is my take too depressing? There are often times I think yes, and feel unbelievable shame over it despite others going hard on the angst train.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?  —  Well uh, I believe I was charmed by his rugged but baby appearance in the game..and it just so happen at the time that I was part of a budding rp group. Despite the theme being mostly “OUENDAN”, that was the start of me shoving Momotaro into every fuckin’ thing because he’s cute as shit and obscure muses can be fun too! It was also probably relaxing for me because gosh dang back then I was scared of getting something wrong about someone canon with more lore...and I am still scared about that to this day.

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?  —  Studying about Japanese culture, learning the language...the fact that I’ve been rping him for almost 10 years (read like 8-9 at this point)...I do wonder if I should stop rping him...and then I keep hearing that people only want characters only in as fighters, fighters are the only important thing about smash and that grows my weird spite and just continue this “backstage” plot of Smash. Yes, getting a franchise in as a fighter is a VERY high commemoration but, I think it’s just as equally amazing when a franchise gets in as an assist trophy or even a spirit/trophy! So yeah it’s petty and I better find some other motivation soon because it’s exhausting.

do you think you give your character justice?  yes / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? [ Ahaha....I’m starting to give up on that idea at this point, as several noted that Momotaro isn’t as timid in canon as I write him. But I do try to keep those boneheaded traits of the peach boy in my portrayal. ]

do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO / SORT OF? [ It’s a must for Momotaro, whose game is a tribute to how the old timey arcade games didn’t have much to their plots. Otherwise, I would think that playing him would end up pretty dry..whether I play him closer to canon or not. ]

do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO [ ...I should write more. ]

do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO [ Stupidly yes. Been playing him for 8 years so it’s a hard habit to break. ]

are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO / SORT OF? [ I mean, if I wasn’t confident enough I would’ve dropped him...though I have thought about that several times. There be times where I run into some sort of writer’s block due to his meek (and traumatized) nature, and because of how he speaks, it’s scary. Am I pushing his issues too much...? Or just HIM in general...? ]

are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. [ Again, writer block happens when some muses don’t click, or personally I don’t want to interact with someone. And then when I do want to write with someone, I fear that my simpler (children’s book) ways of writing would be a turn off. I don’t want to end up babbling too long that there’s too much detail but I shudder at seeing single lines in response to long prose. ]

are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. / sorta. [ Yeaaaah i get stressed and cry at lot at confrontation and just...anxiety in general. Been trying to keep that off the dash though, as I’m sure peeps got their own troubles already. DMs are good to have y’all. ]

DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?  —  I do my best to take crits when I get them but sometimes it just haunts me because I have mixed feelings on being told that the way he speaks is racist or childish.  But hey, if you got more advice on how to write trauma and special needs, I’m all ears! Particularly because I’m writing from my own experience in my life and research. ...Dad isn’t that superb at speaking English and that's where I got the Momo speak.

DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?  —  Yes please...but at this point I kinda have sadly accepted that’s just gonna be rare because he’s obscure.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?  —  as my take on Momotaro is very meek, I’d like to see how one would take  on a more confident/more canon true take on him. But that’s a pipe dream. Coruse the only headcanon I will never take (that I fear the fandom will have due to perverted nature) is that he’s just a fuckin harem protag wanting to get into pants. To that I say: NO. In canon he doesn’t give a fuck about the fact his teammates are girls...or even acknowledges that they're girls. It’s the time to survive, not boogie on beds...or at a tree.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?  — I anticipate that wholly because again, I have gotten comments that my take on Momotaro has not properly prepared them to witness the sheer destruction and toughness that is canontaro. Honestly I’d be hyped to see more takes...except for the harem route ones. Am I gonna jinx myself for saying it that much?

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?  —  I probably would be sad but understanding...I mean it’s not the first time that someone has taken deep offense at Momo and me, mainly in the rp sense. I would hope they would at least go find something that makes them happy.

Bucky Barnes stood towards the back of the crowd as they all marveled at the performance on stage. He’d seen the show almost a hundred times now, he mouthed the words along with the presenter as they brought out each piece of futuristic technology. He was clad in his uniform, it seemed to be all he wore nowadays, even if he wasn’t shipping out again until the next night. Today he had snuck away from his family and Steve, promising them that they’d have a farewell bash tomorrow, he had some things he had to do today. The truth was he just wanted some time to himself before he left.

As the presenter riled up the audience for the final piece she stepped up next to him. He glanced down at the girl that had joined his side. He didn’t recognise her, though that wasn’t uncommon, she wasn’t paying him any attention. Her focus was held completely by the car that slowly spun on stage, her eyes were wide, almost as much as her smile. Bucky laughed to himself, he’d looked just like that the first time he saw it, couldn’t believe his eyes.

“Gotta get me one of those,” she marveled at the hover car on stage and Bucky couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head. He couldn’t believe a girl who looked as much working class as the rest of them sounded so sure that she was going to get Stark’s newest great invention. “Do you think I can’t ?”

Bucky’s laughter ceased as she spun to face him, her hands on her waist and staring accusingly towards him with a smirk.

“Not at all,” he shook his head, “maybe you could let me drive it?” He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down at his feet before his eyes darted back up to her, his lip between his teeth.

“Maybe, if you’re lucky,” she dropped her arms and laughed at the sight of him. She’d heard all the stories, James Buchanan ‘Bucky’ Barnes; ladies man, womaniser, charming and flirtatious. However, the shy man in front of her, though by his appearance she knew it must be him, his actions proved every story wrong.

“I hope I am,” he adjusted the hat on his head, looking around, anywhere but the gorgeous girl in front of him.

“Do you have a name?” She asked turning back to the stage, the show was over but she needed to look away before she started drooling. She’d always been a sucker for a man in uniform, “if I’m going to let you drive my car, you could at least tell me who you are.”

“Bucky, uh Bucky Barnes,” Bucky stuck his hand out which she held firm and shook, “Do you have a name miss?” The sly smile on her face grew bigger and Bucky knew he was in trouble when he felt his shoulders relax and let out a sigh, he was enamored by her already.

“I do”

“Can I know what it is?”

“Not yet,” he raised an eyebrow but she simply continued to smile at him and began turning to walk away, “maybe you could show me around. I’ve never been to this exhibition before.”

Bucky was quick to follow the mystery girl and fall in step next to her. He thought it odd that she’d never been to the exhibition of future technologies, it was the most popular show in town and he swore everyone had been at least twice. But he brushed it off, maybe she was a nurse, maybe she’d been out overseas helping with the war. She didn’t seem like a nurse though, she swayed and meandered too much as she walked to be a nurse he thought.

Bucky pushed his queries to the back of his head and instead followed his mystery girl around the exhibition like a lost puppy. If Steve saw him now he would never hear the end of it, not once had he been this taken aback by a dame before.

He answered every one of her questions, some were to do with what they were walking past or looking at, others were about Brooklyn itself, places he recommended and whatnot. The questions that struck Bucky though were the ones she asked about him.

They sat at a bench having walked through the entire place, taking them almost half the day as they stopped and talked about everything. She sat close to him, her legs crossed and her arm brushing his. He still didn’t know her name and he wanted to pull her onto his lap and never let her go as he watched her looking around her like she’d never seen anything like it before. She hadn’t.

“What’s your favourite season Bucky?” Her head snapped back towards him and he didn’t have enough time to pretend he hadn’t just been staring at her. Bucky cleared his throat and furrowed his eyebrows as he thought. No one had ever asked him that.

“Summer,” he nodded, having come to a decision, “there’s an ice cream parlour a block from my parents and my best friend and I would go constantly through the summer,” Bucky smiled fondly as he pictured the ice cream parlour with its pink hues and he and Steve as kids running in with the little money they’d been given just for the occasion. “What about you Doll?”

He’d decided that since she wouldn’t give him her name he’d have to call her Doll until she did. She giggled when he told her that, and then again the first time he called her it. Bucky decided that was one of his greatest achievements, making her giggle.

“Spring,” she smiled sweetly at him, reaching up to brush back a stray hair that had fallen from under his hat. Bucky couldn’t help the blush that rushed to his cheeks when she did. “I like what it represents, coming out of the dark you could say.” He’d never thought of spring like that, he tended not to like it too much, it rained too often for his liking. “And the line at ice cream parlours are always shorter in spring,” she winked.

It was getting too dark for Bucky’s liking when they walked out onto the street. There weren’t as many people round and the ones that were weren’t ones he much wanted to associate himself with. They walked along the street and around the corner. He wasn’t walking anywhere in particular, he was hoping she was guiding them. Maybe he could walk her home, ask her on a proper date. If only he wasn’t shipping out again tomorrow night.

“I’m afraid this is where I have to say goodbye Bucky,” the girl, his girl, stopped at the corner they’d reached. He knew the area, his home wasn’t far, maybe neither was hers, but he didn’t want to let her walk by herself.

“Let me walk you home,” he said hopefully, she leaned against the wall behind her as he took a hesitant step towards her.

“I’m afraid that’s a long walk,” she reached for his arm and pulled him further, not that he argued at all at their newfound closeness.

“I think I can take it,” his voice was quiet now, scared if he spoke any louder it would disturb the peace they’d bubbled themselves in, “I don’t quite want this day to end.”

She straightened his jacket by the collar and then moved a hand to cup his cheek gently. He leaned into her touch and let his eyes close for a second before opening them when he felt her lips on his cheek.

“Neither do I if I’m completely honest,” there was a sad smile on her face. Bucky gulped down his nerves before he brushed his fingers over her jaw and then held her face in his hands. She dropped her hand from his cheek and rested it on his chest next to her other.

“Why does it have to?”

“I’ve already stayed too long,”

“Can I at least know your name then?” His thumb gently rubbed along her cheek bone as they whispered to each other. She rose onto her toes and leaned forward so her cheeks brushed against his.

“Y/N Y/L/N” she whispered into his ear. Bucky’s hands held her waist as she lowered back onto the balls of her feet but before her heels touched the ground Bucky pressed his lips against hers.

It was gentle at first. He wasn’t quite sure if she would kiss him back but he had to know what kissing her would feel like so he took a leap of faith. His grip on her waist tightened as she pressed her body flush against his and her hands found their way to his shoulders and the back of his neck. Bucky took another chance. Not wanting it to end as he licked her bottom lip but was immediately welcomed as she opened her mouth slightly, enough for him to explore her taste more.

She tasted so foreign to him, it was almost like coffee but not any coffee he’d had before, it was a mixture of the bitter but also a sweetness. He decided it must just be her. Bucky stepped forward, pressing Y/N against the wall behind her, a giggle escaped her as she felt the cold brick through her dress and then Bucky’s lips spread into a smile as he continued to kiss her. Her hands explored further into his hair as his moved across and up her back and she caught his hat before it tumbled off of his head and slowly pulled away from him, placing it on her own with a smile.

“You kiss all the girls goodnight like that?” Bucky laughed as he adjusted his hat on her head, ducking down to place a chaste kiss on her cheek before answering her.

“Only the ones that let me drive their hover cars,” he winked, “you should keep that, looks better on you than it ever did me,” he nodded at the hat with a small smirk.

“But then your uniform wouldn’t be complete, I can’t let you walk around like that,” Y/N took the hat and placed it back over Bucky’s hair where it belonged. His smile dropped slightly as he remembered why he was wearing his uniform and the fact that he was leaving tomorrow.

“I’d like to see you again but I’m shipping out tomorrow,” he brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear, “known you for a day Doll and you’ve got me wrapped around your finger,” Bucky breathes out a laugh before pecking her lips quickly, “Can I find you after I get back?”

She stepped out from against the wall and out of his arms, “I really should get going Bucky, I wasn’t meant to be here for this long.” She couldn’t look at him, if she did, if she looked at those blue eyes and his small frown she would have jumped straight back into his arms. She’d really stayed too long, she hadn’t thought she’d meet someone, or fall for someone. “Goodnight Bucky, thank you for today,” she paused, glancing up as Bucky took a small step towards her, almost reaching out to her, “I hope I do see you soon.”

There was a small smile on her face as Bucky watched her turn and walk away. He wanted to run after her and beg her to stay with him but something was telling him he shouldn’t. His gut told him he had to get home, his ma would be worrying about where he was by now. So he watched her until she crossed the street and disappeared into the night, and he walked home, thinking about Y/N Y/L/N, Doll, the girl who took his breath away and his heart with her in a single day.

Y/N quickened her pace when she turned off the street out of Bucky’s sight. She darted into an alley way as quickly and quietly as she could and made sure no one was around before she closed her eyes and clapped her fists together.

When she opened her eyes again she looked around the familiar lounge and kitchen until she saw the phone that sat on the counter. She picked it up and checked the time, only a minute had passed since she’d left but for her it’d been an entire day.

She thought about her day, the day she’d spent in 1943 with Bucky. She was only supposed to be there for an hour, just enough time to get her energy back before she could come back home. But she’d been curious and ventured into the street where she found the future technologies exhibition. She didn’t think anyone would notice her, she’d worn an accurate Halloween costume from the year before, it’s what had given her the idea to go back to the 40’s.

She hadn’t expected to meet Bucky, to meet anyone for that matter. As she kept thinking about Bucky she realised what he’d told her, he was shipping out the next day, and she realised she knew what his fate was, he wouldn’t be coming back. Not for a long time.

Y/N choked back a sob as she ripped off the dress and stumbled into her room. She wanted to go back, to make him stay with her, to stop him from leaving. She knew she couldn’t though, those were the rules of time travel. She’d already done enough damage spending the day with him but she couldn��t help herself. As soon as she realised it was him she wanted to know him, to see if the stories were true.

She found out they weren’t, not the ones the media told at least, not the ones the history books told. He was a brave hero, yes, she’d give him that, of course he was. But she refused to believe he was any sort of a womaniser.

She’d heard Steve’s protests one night when she’d stayed late in Bruce’s lab. She heard him call Bucky a giant nerd and that he may have kept it secret for this long but he’ll prove it once Bucky got back from Wakanda.

Y/N had never met Bucky Barnes, not the modern Bucky. She’d only met a few of the avengers, Bruce, of course, being his assistant; Tony who always seemed to come in at lunch but pretend he hadn’t realised what the time was and dragged them out for food; Steve and Natasha she’d met as well but only briefly as they discussed a case with Dr Banner.

Bucky had gone back to Wakanda to visit his friends and his goats. He went back a few weeks every year but he’d missed the last couple so this time he’d gone back for two months. He decided it was the perfect time, he wanted to show Shuri his new haircut, he wanted to show her how well he was doing.

Steve had told him about Bruce’s new assistant briefly but it was just among the list of other, more important things that were going on at the compound only a couple weeks into his holiday. To be honest, he hadn’t even remembered Bruce had gotten a new assistant until he was welcomed back by the scientist and told he should stop by the lab. He didn’t think anything of it, not the biggest fan of meeting new people, until Sam told him her name and shoved a photo of her in his face.

“Her names Y/N and she’s absolutely gorgeous. Met her last night when she left. Don’t tell Steve, because he said I’m not allowed, but I’m gonna ask her out.” Sam rambled on about the kind of date he’d take her on while Bucky took the phone from his hand and turned towards Steve who sat across from him laughing at Sam’s smugness.

“Steve?”

“Yea?”

“Do you remember in ‘43 when I told you about that girl,” Bucky swallowed the lump in his stomach. He refused to get his hopes up but the girl on the screen looked exactly like his Doll and he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“Which one?” Steve laughed knowing a few girls had thrown themselves at he and Bucky when they went drinking in their uniform. Girls loved a man in uniform.

“Doll,” Bucky breathed out and Steve stopped his movements, staring Bucky with wide eyes. As soon as Bucky had seen Steve the morning after he had told her all about Doll, wanting to keep her real name to himself. ‘I’m telling you, she’s the one that got away’ he’d told Steve. ‘Absolutely incredible’ he described her, like he couldn’t quite believe she existed. Steve had always felt bad and guilty for Bucky losing her. He’d remember how giddy Bucky had been when talked about her as he swore he’d find her when he got back. Steve had completely forgotten about her until now, he wished he’d remembered so he could have found her again, found out if she had a happy life so he could tell Bucky.

Sam had stopped talking at this point, realising no one was listening to him and his friends expressions turned serious.

“Buck, that’s not possible. Is it?”

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?

     for idw, up until his canonical death in ll#20.  at that point i have a vague non-excuse for why he’s still alive and sent him off to continue being a bastard.  in victory’s case, i mostly follow the anime with some tiny bits of the manga thrown in as well, though i may shift more towards the manga depending on who i’m rping with and what needs to be the case for a given thread.

     idw!star saber is a great villain.  he’s love-to-hate-him nasty, violent and hateful and contemptuous with an extreme sense of self-righteousness that makes it so much fun to watch him miscalculate his authority or power against someone else.  but he’s also incredibly threatening, because his strength is terrifying and brutal and he uses it without hesitation.  he’s also a fascinating dark mirror to his og victory self and that makes it a lot of fun to develop the two side-by-side.

as for said victory self, that version of star saber is kind, charming and valiant.  he has the humility and politeness that makes him soft to his allies, but the courage and strength to be ruthless against his enemies when they’re doing evil.  a (relatively) young mech with the world on his shoulders, he maintains his grace as best he can while always being patient and sympathetic to others, and if you want a bold hero to be a new friend, he’s open to anyone.

NOW THE OPPOSITE! (list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)

     idw!star saber gets a lot of shit for not being remotely like his victory counterpart, despite, like.  this being the transformers franchise.  i don’t remember the last time i admired fanart of him without having to scroll down to the comments to see some jackass whine that they wish he was heroic like in the anime.  but on the rp side of things, it’s really hard to write him without having him immediately murder the other party for x reason (even if it’s as simple as them being in his way), so that’s a thing.

as for victory!star saber, he’s a ridiculous gary stu in canon and it’s hard to root for him even if you like the character.  not only are the decepticons in victory more interesting and developed, but there are at least three separate occasions where star saber wins way more easily than he should have, and one plot turn where he has a serious fuck up and not even his enemies point out that he fucked up.  the narrative is terrified of even suggesting that their precious hero is anything but perfect, and it’s really annoying.

     honestly?  i picked them up on a whim.  also, i’m the only star saber in the rpc, which is neat.

     i guess?  i mean, anyone’s free to disagree with me, but again, because of the nature of my muse that tends to come in two flavours: 1) it’s a headcanon that’s simply a different interpretation of their canonical behaviour which i can see where it comes from and i get it, or 2) it’s because they’re, again, unwilling to accept a villainous star saber because they’re cowards and they have no concept of actual media or adaption analysis.

(i really try to be understanding of those people, too, but i also can’t help my own contempt for that point of view.  half of them read like they haven’t even seen victory in the first place before complaining that it’s different.)

     see above; i’ll try to be understanding, or even actively understand, but if any argument against it starts with “idw!star saber is bad because he’s not victory!star saber” then that opinion goes in the trash pile.

     idw!star saber is intentionally loathesome, and victory!star saber is legitimately the source of all of victory’s narrative flaws, so i’d totally get it.  just as long as they don’t fling shit at me about it.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?  

     of course!  i especially invite it whenever i break out my first year-level japanese, because while i’ve been reviewing it and working on it, i really do want to improve on that.

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?  

     i think so?  i try to be, and you’ll often catch me in the middle of angst discussions throwing in a joke to utterly destroy the mood.  for example, talking to @oftheaccord about a scenario where star saber dies of old age because i set him at 8mil, and tyrest’s grief... and then made a joke cutting away to deathsaurus’ warworld throwing a party over it.

i can be cynical in some respects, cough--  but generally i try not to be judgy or mean-spirited. but i also like to analyse work, so that means anyone who befriends me has to put up with me writing entire essays on things i do or don’t like.  constantly.  (maybe if i ever get recording equipment and a functional/legal version of sony vegas, i’ll start making video essays and not stop bugging my friends about my opinions?)

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON? not that strictly. she loses the pregnancy through a trauma-related miscarriage. back when i rped her years ago, i did not write in the fact that she had a child. i think i didn’t want to ... really write the parts with dante / the gate / etc. i could still in a separate AU where it’s strictly canon, but for just my writing sake, i decided no. she goes through having her rapist’s child, and that can be heavy for some. the assault alone is traumatic enough. but it’s real. so her story, at least in 03, does deserve to be told with sensitivity.

AKA TRY TO LIST EVERYTHING, WHICH MAKES YOUR MUSE INTERESTING IN YOUR OPINION TO MAKE THEM SPICY FOR YOUR MUTUALS. do you like flowers? yes? good. do you like pretty, sweet girls? yes? ok great. please, allow me to introduce you to a person who combines all three !! rose thomas, a wholesome girl who, while living in a terribly hot city, will make you forget all about the heat with her charming smile and adorable laugh !! with her heart of gold, she will help out anyone and stand up for those that cannot !! while a little hot-tempered, rose truly has firm beliefs, but doesn’t mean she won’t learn from her mistakes and grow, flourish, like that of the flower she is named after !! so come visit liore and meet the city’s own pink-haired angel !! 

NOW THE OPPOSITE, LIST EVERYTHING WHY YOUR MUSE COULD NOT BE SO INTERESTING (EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT AGREE, WHAT DOES THE FANDOM PERHAPS THINK?).   .... well, first off, in 03, people disliked rose for the fact that she was seen as a threat to the pairing EdWin. which, ofc if you read the manga, doesn’t happen so. and idk if people couldn’t really relate to rose back then, much less in BH where she barely shows up (as story-line goes) and she isn’t as fleshed out as prior. umm. i think from what i’ve seen (even if it is canon) people didn’t particularly like that they “white-washed” her, even though technically she was meant to be originally light-skinned (she’s a desert child yet she’s white .... she’d burn but ok) and i think just how she came off originally really made people dislike her vs 03. and maybe her storyline in 03 wasn’t as interesting and maybe a little dark, given that she’s a WOC who is raped by a soldier(s) and had the child, then was used by scar, and then used again by dante, so maybe they figured she’s a weak person who gets manipulated a lot? (writing this is making me mad but from again, what i’ve read LMAO) and just the plot device with the child / gate opening. 

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE? honestly? cause she was pretty LMAO. but mainly bc she (in 03) was a brown girl, like me. even though you don’t know her race, i saw myself in her, and she was so sweet and wholesome. she lost her first love and was desperate to do whatever it takes to get him back and i think she was lost, uncertain, and i really felt that. as time goes on and you find out that she changes her tune and grows and uses ed’s words to help herself back up again from being in a war-zone, it’s inspiring. she didn’t just stick to her ideals, she really changed. and then she is assault. and you just feel furious for her bc she didn’t deserve that, after having just felt empowered to do the right thing. i think initially it was out of vanity, but as i continued on with her, she just grew to be apart of me. she was one of my longest played characters, so i do have a sentimental attachment to her. 

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING? umm. it’s hard more so now bc she’s no longer my main muse. so finding her voice now, a decade-plus later, can pose as a challenge. but i guess other than having writing partners who love her just as much as i do, i think just thinking about what would ( 21+) rose grow up into? what sorts of complex thoughts would she have? music helps me mostly if nothing else tbh.

LMAO but really, it’s fine, it’s for fun and i’ll try not to take it personally.

MY MUSE IS:   canon / oc / au / slightly canon-divergent / fandomless / complicated. IS YOUR CHARACTER POPULAR IN THE FANDOM?  YES? / NO. IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED HOT™ IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK. ( Have you went through his character tags? Every day I see a post that comments on Akira / Ren / the Persona 5 Protagonist and how good looking he is, with or without his glasses or in his Joker costume. And between the 3 wildcard protags: Minato. Yu, and Akira , everyone mostly agrees that my character is the hottest out of them ). IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED STRONG IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK.  ( He becomes a freaking god / demon lord temporarily, defeats gods 3 times, the greatest control over his own personas and has stronger personas of protagonists from the past aka picaro versions. He’s extremely overpowered and has several METAs in his tags to back that claim up from the fandom’s point of view ). ARE THEY UNDERRATED?   YES / NO / IDK.  ( Actually he’s a little overrated. Probably will be until Persona 6. Mainly because he’s in so many games besides the persona franchise. He’s even in a SAO game for crying out loud and him being a playable character in Super Smash Bros doesn’t help either since a lot of people that can’t play persona get to see and like him ). WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN STORY?   YES / NO WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN CHARACTER?   YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAGONIST ARE THEY WIDELY KNOWN IN THEIR WORLD?   YES / NO / IT’S COMPLICATED. ( He’s mostly known to the world as Joker / leader of the Phantom Thieves and of course the rumors about his reputation around the school as being the troublesome delinquent transfer student. Other than being somewhat infamous, he tends to blend in with his surroundings and doesn’t stick out that much. It’s in fact a ruse but a really good ruse to fool almost anyone. The only one that barely calls him out is Goro Akechi but mostly out of jealousy ) HOW’S THEIR REPUTATION?   GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. ( In most cases, his reputation is quite bad but it’s not really his fault. Getting falsely accused, having it get leaked by a teacher in his new school and having people generally spread rumors that aren’t true about him really hurt his social status. He’s not even allowed in the library in the beginning of the game and several people actually root for him to drop out of school completely. That doesn’t even compare when a few individuals call him actual garbage / trash. And he even can’t join any clubs at school despite wanting to join. He’s the only one of the wildcards that can’t join any after school activities. With his friends and confidants, it’s really quite neutral. Some people adore / rely on him ( ‘Kasumi’ / Sumire, Futaba, Ann, Ryuji, Yusuke, Hifumi, Shiho, Shinya ) and others initially don’t want anything to do with him  ( Sojiro / Iwai / Mishima / Kawakami, Takemi, and yes, even Goro but it’s more hidden away because he is capable of hiding it so easily). He’s had the most bad luck in game between the 3 wildcards. HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?   —  ( I try to stick close to canon as possible but I’ve had Akira even before his game was released so a lot of things are headcanon’d but honestly, Akira is basically a self-insert as there is no set canon. Even his name isn’t permanent ( not counting all the names he has, why atlus why?? ). The great thing about persona protagonists are that you can use just the bare bones of what the game gives you and just run with it because everyone’s interpretation is different / unique.)

in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. —    ( He’s always fighting for freedom and justice, actually seeks out to destroy the injustice placed on the younger generation or the weak by rotten adults or people that just don’t care that bad shit is happening to others. He’s always looking towards a brighter future and sticks to his own beliefs and never wavers ( unless it’s a bad end AU or just fails to complete a dungeon on time ). He’s willing to rescue / help anyone in need, even if it’s harmful to himself and never sells out his friends, even under pressure. Plus, he’s pretty and has a smirk so devilish charming that you can’t help to notice that he’s a really handsome boy, with or without his glasses. ).

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  ( His anime counterpart is so bland when compared the game and manga series, mainly because it really doesn’t focus on him too much and mostly on the other characters that surround him. He’s also quite rude to some of his confidants and he can take deals that only benefits him ( like with the Demiurge and Maruki’s happy world reality ). He can be a little selfish and moody, cranky even and I don’t think some muses / people would find that appealing). 

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   —  ( I guess it was how similar I saw myself in him. I actually relate to this protagonist the most. Isolated, away from home with no relatives taking care of him, few to no friends while in a strange place, everyone doesn’t care about his situation and told him to basically be complainant and not to cause trouble. Also what he represents and strives towards. I truly believe he is the best protagonist out there, with Maya Amano from Persona 2 right behind him. He basically inspires others which in return, inspires me to write this character. ).

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?   —  ( I actually have the most fun when writing him and those who interact with me and my character really seem to enjoy him and his characterization. Plus, I spend a lot of time and effort into him that it keeps me motivated ).
