Ken Sato, outfielder for the Yomiuri Giants, comes clean about giant spending habits!

In a recent interview, All-Star player Kenji Sato confessed to spending absurd amounts of money on grossly large sports memorabilia— mostly his own.

“I have a good, totally plausible reason for it,” Sato had plead, unconvincingly.

going through the ushiwaka feels again and i had the thought of how shattered he must’ve been after losing to karasuno and then not making it to nationals in his third year…

and call me stupid call me delusional but let’s all just like! think for a second about his backstory because if that’s not traumatic i don’t really what can be like… you’re telling me his dad begged on his KNEES in front of his mom and her elders to let him be left handed because he believed that his son was made to be a volleyball player with it, and his dad, who gave up all parental rights and authority so that he could become the player that he is today, LITERALLY LEAVES THE FAMILY AND GOES OVERSEAS HELLO????

and so he stays with a mom who had his own father beg on his knees all because he uses his left hand, and plays volleyball the way that his father taught him to because nobody else cared enough to train his left-handedness. he becomes a U19 rep, the ace of his dad’s alma mater, he trains and he teaches himself how to utilise this power that is his left hand, a power that he gets to keep at the sacrifice of his own family.

and in his final year at Shiratorizawa, one of the last connections he still has to the father, that he had to watch leave, all because of his greatest strength as a player, he plays against these newbies. fallen angels. forgotten champions that don’t stand a chance against him because his team is simply put, better. they always have been.
