I always have a soft spot for characters who have a protective streak for another out of gratitude for their kindness towards them, but Charles’ protectiveness towards Edwin really hits a particular way because it’s so so apparent that it’s specifically about wanting Edwin to feel as safe and as comfortable around him as Edwin made Charles feel in his dying moments. I’m going to shatter like glass.

My sister is unfortunately no longer able to keep her cat. Already very difficult and sad decision to have to make but it’s made worse by the fact that he has separation anxiety and will mark when he’s very stressed. Finding a home for a cat like that is nearly impossible.

I’m not gonna lie and say “oh boy I want another cat” but he’s a nice boy and it’s my sister asking so I’m getting another cat. I did let her know this is a trial run and if things don’t work out we’ll have to find a different solution. But I know myself and once he’s here I’d have a hard time sending him away.

I’m hopeful with some anxiolytics and a quiet place to hide we’ll be able to keep his stress levels relatively low until he gets comfortable here. I’m also hopeful that in time he’ll bond with one of my cats so he won’t end up feeling so alone.
