If I ever get to the point I make comics for my various fandom AUs, my only requirements for the font are gonna be:

1. It has to legible (meaning people can actually read it)

and

2. There has to be a very obvious difference between a lowercase L and an uppercase i. None of that "just a line" bullshit. I'd include a 1, but I feel like that tends to be more obvious.

One of my biggest petpeeves when it comes to xenofiction and xenofiction roleplay, is what I can only call the felinification of canines.

Whenever it comes to fighting, canines will often use their claws to scratch their foes or scar them. When it comes to biting, the damage is often muscle deep at the worst and the wounds mostly just bleed a lot.

This ignores so much of what makes canines so deadly over giving them the same deadly traits as a feline. A (wolf relative) canine can easily break the bones of their foes in a single bite and often the deadliest thing they can do is not let go. As for claws, while they can leave shallow scratches, canine claws are dull and are used for digging and running. Feline claws are sharp because they do not use them for running or digging, literally keeping them safe until they need to be used. I understand that internal injuries are often a step too far for most media, and that broken bones and bruises aren't hardcore enough. But I still think there could be a balanced depiction of a canine that uses their actual anatomy and doesn't just paste feline traits on them.

Hot Take about Greta Gerwig's Barbie but for being advertised as a movie about "girlhood" and nostalgia and like, and how that informs what it means to be a woman, it really...wasn't?

My biggest petpeeve from the movie wasn't the "liberal propoganda" everyone said it was — my biggest problem was that the entire message was self-contradictory. Anytime one thing was asserted, something else would happen to undermine that claim. (See, the fact that we spend the entire movie talking about how the human world is horrible and men are scum, only to have Barbie decide she wants to be human at the end? Or the fact that the movie is about equality, only to decide that men in Barbieland can only ever have the level of rights women in the real world have, which is perpetuating the exact kind of discrimination the movie set out to decry).

There were multiple beautiful scenes of Barbie watching humans be human and those scenes almost made me cry, but they ultimately didn't actually have anything to do with the theme of the movie and could have been removed. They were just there to generate emotions that were left totally unexplored. Which leads me to what I wish the Barbie movie had been:

I wish it had followed the outline of a lot of Christmas movies, like the Santa Claus movies. I wish it followed a completely cynical grown woman who forgot what it was like to be a child, and with that, forgot virtue. I wish it showed us a woman who had bought into the lie that femininity is inherently bad, and that she should be "like a man" in order to climb in the business world. She doesn't let her kids have dolls, or tutus. And then she meets Barbie and suddenly she starts to remember. She remembers what it is like to see beauty everywhere you go. To trust that there are good people in this world. That letting yourself be sensitive is what makes you fully alive.

She sees Barbie—fashionista, astronaut, president, flight attendant, doctor — and remembers that she doesn't have to be a man. She can be a mother and a buisnesswoman. She can love her babies and climb in the buisnessworld. She can follow her dreams.

She sees the unique call of woman, the reason the world needs us — for our receptivity, our sensitivity, our interpersonal relationships, our nurturing, our creativity. Our ability to find beauty in the darkest of places and strengthen it. She realizes her business needs her, not as the brash bossbabe she has been taught to be, but as the compassionate, open-minded child she was. As the person who can build bridges, not be a cut throat buisness woman.

I wish it had been about the virtues of girlhood. And how remembering what it was like to be a child makes you a better woman today.

Wrote about this in the tags of another post, but my biggest yeehan petpeeve is seeing hanzo be feminized when being shipped with Cole or any man perceived as more masculine than him in fandom. I'm fine with ppl having their size difference fantasies, but let's be real? Hanzo is just as if not more buff than Cole. Like, have you seen the size of his tits? His forearms? Literal beefcake. The only thing tiny on him is his waist and his ankles that I'm still a 100% convinced are mechanical ( idc overwatch canon he cannot be that top heavy with such tiny twigs).

But back to my point. The whole appeal to yeehan. At least personally--is the homoerotic nature of putting two men who are the pinnacle of traditional nastolgic masculinity in their own respective cultures together and making them scissor hard like barbie dolls. Then, be too caught up in their masculinity and internalized homophobia to talk about it during the morning after.

this one is... very specific to my experience because i write a lot of dark content but one of my biggest rp pet peeves is when people try to police other people's writing. too often they see .2 interactions on dash and take it and run. on some of the more severe occasions, they'll use it as ammo for our lovely rpc witch hunts, which i despise more than anything (unless someone's causing actual harm, ofc). but what they don't see is... literally everything that happens behind the scenes. the writers discussing limits, triggers, and mutual comfort levels. the deep, detailed plotting and character exploration that comes along with writing dark content like violence and dubcon/cnc (just to name a couple of the bigger ones, the ones i see people taking issue with the most). writing horror/dark content can be so cathartic for those of us who have experienced trauma ourselves and some of us just like to write it 'cause it's fun, it's cool to explore, and i guarantee we're learning a lot about our characters, ourselves, and real-world issues while doing it. writing it does not mean condoning it and it's so infuriating when people assume that's the case.

if you don't like it, that's cool. i've got my preferences too, believe me. but what's not cool is acting like you've got some moral high ground and coming after those who write what you don't like. it's all about curating your own safe space, friends! block, blacklist, curate your own online experience before coming for the neck of someone who's just trying to write and have fun.

it's something i'm still actively trying to overcome here, especially with the nature of the blog and the characters. i love dark, fucked up ideas. i was raised on horror. stephen king, rob zombie, clive barker, the works. i live for horror writing and i love pushing my own boundaries and learning all sorts of new shit, but sometimes it's still so scary posting it on dash and that's why i make it a rule that my writing partners can request a private disco server at any point in time. because sometimes it's a safety thing more than it's a comfort thing on this hellsite.

I'm constantly going back in my prompts tag to delete old reblogs. BUT THERE ARE STILL, complete strangers who dig through it and reblog it from me. Like?????????? That has the same effect as a 'fuck you' in my DMs. It's 10x funnier, if it is one of those blogs with a long ass pinned/rules page. And they still had no qualms in doing this shit. It's not quirky, let me tell you that much.

Notice, I'm not complaining about not receiving asks whenever I reblog something. That's not an issue for me (mutuals/rp partners should only send stuff, when they genuinely feel like doing so, without any obligations). All I'm asking is to not make me feel like, I'm just a RP memes archive type of blog, that's only there to provide writing prompts & nothing else. This has been a long running peeve I've been having to deal with, for YEARS. And it made a resurface as of lately.

Jokes aside. It may have been a result of the way I tried watching the classic series (by binge watching the entire thing). BUT when I got to the Hades arc, I got SO mad when I realized they brought back those drawn out battles. Like those were my least enjoyed bits of the early parts of the anime and the Sanctuary arc, meanwhile the Poseidon arc didn't have any of that (which is why I rate the Poseidon arc as my favorite one of the anime adaptation. 15 episodes with NO filler??? HELL YEAH.).

You can say I was already pretty burned, and should have slowed down with the final part of the series. But even then, I don't think that would have changed a thing about my general disinterest towards Hades' servants. Visually speaking to me, they are the messiest and most boring looking characters from the classic series (they only ever wear 1 color and look way too much like a toy, than some form of proper armor).

Rhadama.nthys is the biggest bitch in the club, to me he was the most insufferable. "He is the strongest*tm of all judges." *= only when Hades is straight up cheating and the story feels like unnecessarily drag things out. Reminder that Kanon killed him without any cloth equipped, and he went out the way HE chose to. He literally didn't even have to TRY.

My favorite part of the Hades arc was seeing Kanon wipe the floor, with everyone he crossed paths with. This feels 10x more satisfying, after reading the Destiny & Origins extra chapters.

Obviously, this doesn't mean the fandom is perfect nor it's an Utopia, where there isn't drama at all. BUT when compared to others, it feels a lot tamer in comparison. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of coming off as a very closed off fandom, that's centered around overseas things for a change.

My biggest petpeeve in the therian community is, without a doubt, gatekeeping.

"Therianthropy is nonphysical!" this and "you can't choose to be a therian!" that.

What if we just realized that everyone's brain and belief system works differently, and you can literally choose whatever label you want for yourself.

I've seen so many posts saying, "Someone said that chosen therian are invalid, but they're wrong! They're just using the wrong terms! Otherlinkers are just as valid as therians!"

Chosen therians ARE therians, not otherlinkers. Only individuals can choose their own labels; others cannot choose them for them. There is no single verbatim definition of therianthropy. There is no universal judge on who counts as a REAL therian and who's a fake. There are no fakes unless they are consciously, intentionally, and deliberately faking.

Chosen therians are just as valid as other therians, and otherlinkers are ALSO just as valid as therians and any other alterhuman identitiy. Voluntary identities are valid, even when it comes to therianthropy.

NJs may not have directly accused Lsfrm and Ilit members but we all know they are easy targets and saying you feel mistreated because one debuted before you and one copied you or was instructed to not bow is putting a target on their back. Idols are the easiest targets. To get back at the agency, people will swear at those girls and bully them under the excuse of sending a message to the company.

Fearnots and Gllit dont like Hybe either. But to protect their favorite groups interest they hope Hybe will win the lawsuit because it will appease the hatred toward their groups. Just like tokkies support MHJ even tho she seems shady because if what she is accused of is true then it will reflect badly on the girls who support her.

All of that to say that my biggest petpeeve about kpop is that the agencies and the groups images are too tied to each other. Attacking one means attacking the other. I wished agencies wouldnt be so visible but it goes against the whole structure of kpop and the concept of trainees.

Ran really just doesn't question the "I'm on a case," excuse at all and I wish she would. Or at least make some hint that she's not that naive and has noticed his random change in behaviour, from disappearing from the public eye and asking for his name to never be involved in cases anymore when in the past he loved the attention. She deserves so much more as a character.

Gosho really, really doesn't know how romance works.

Shinichi and Haibara just solving the codes for the police T-T What would they do without them.

One of my biggest petpeeves in romance is when someone has a love interest who has passed away and their new love interest "reminds" them of them because it never feels like they love the character for them but rather the person who they lost.

I know Sonoko looking at Makoto's face for strength and inspiration and then Ran looking at the text Shinichi sent was supposed to be the same for her, but considering it's a picture of her own face, I'm just taking it as gaining strength and inspiration from herself because she really deserves to have a character outside of Shinichi.

Actually, children, when someone says they aren't interested, you should respect their decision instead of pushing them. That is called consent and it is extremely important in a relationship. Now, of course, in Takagi and Satou's case, it's miscommunication that is preventing their relationship, but it's a very important lesson that not many people respect.

I hope Ran got told off for cheating with looking back so often.

Shinichi is good with kids, especially scared kids.

The worst line in this episode being followed by the best line of this episode, how tragic.

It's so reductive of his character to just focus on Ran's life when there are so many lives on the line. Okay, I am going to say it. It's probably more controversial to some but Ran and Shinichi bring out the worst in each others characters most of the time instead of the best like complimentary characters should.

Satou needs therapy. I mean all DC characters need therapy but when they're with the police, they need extra therapy because of what just nearly happened.

Also, thank you Megure for stopping that kiss. I like Satou and Takagi as a relationship, don't get me wrong, but trauma is not a good way to start a relationship. Much like how we said Ran latched onto Shinichi after facing grief after grief in NY, Satou is doing the same with Takagi in this moment, and it's really not a good base for a relationship.

I am actually quite chill about most things, but... what I realized is that it makes me quite sad (not really angry, just... sad) that sometimes, when a muse, mine for example, is heavily canon-divergent and basically even AU, which I write down everywhere, it is still not... taken in, apparently? Not 'realized', in a way? Like, in my case for example as it has happened to me: Some people might follow and just see 'oh, yes, Khan Noonien Singh' and treat him as a canon character and don't see that I have written everywhere, literally, that my portrayal is not canon. And they write down things about Khan in the replies that do not apply to him as my portrayal, because he is not the canon one in my main verse and that immediately makes me go like 'ah, did you.. read that I write literally everywhere that he is not canon in his main verse?'. Like I said, I am not angry but I am sometimes just feeling that pang of disappointment because I put a lot of work in my muse and I am so delighted when someone wants to interact with him, and then his information is basically... ignored? In favor for a canon portrayal that I only do on request. So yeah. I'm not hinting at anyone on here or at anything that has happened, neither am I vague-ing in any way. I am just saying that it has happened, but I am always open to communication and I am also not really angry as said, and I am chill when it's getting talked about and then it's fine. We all aren't perfect and I don't expect anyone to be and I make plenty mistakes myself and am sure I have accidentally written something that sucked (in many ways)... but still. It makes me sad when I see not even the smal 'hey just so be aware he is not canon' text in my pinned is read you know? ---ANYWAYS sorry for this long text haha.

Honestly I was so pumped to write with a Ste.phe.n Str.ange and I got to write with him and I am beyond happy. Very happy, yes. Delighted. I am enjoying my experience immensely with every single one. Besides him, I... well, I do write with some Leo.nar.d Mc.Co.y portrayals but I wished I was like. You know. 'more actively' writing with him. I love him, I write him myself (lol), but I would be pumped if I had more of him to write more extensively with. Generally spoken, I am so glad to be able to write with any character I've met so far and have interactions going with. I am just thankful for people to write with my portrayal and I cannot say that enough I feel. Thank you everyone. All of you. So much.

But it's just Khan for me and I love it, like, literally, THE Khan song for me atm. It always gives me the chills and biggest muse and feelings.
