You Flinch During an Argument -Bakugo Katsuki
I finished this yesterday but forced myself to wait to post it due to my one part a day pattern I've had going on.
Anyways~ as I said in Shoto's part, I did make this one a bit angstier, but I hope I didn't stray too far away from the original prompt :'). It's kinda bittersweet lol but I kinda like it.
Angst to fluff/Comfort | Kinda bittersweet~ | 993 words | female reader
Warnings!: arguing, yelling, being scared of your partner, parents arguing (the kids were not present), kids being left at school (not for very long), caps, excuses, self hatred, and insulting themselves (Bakugo). Please let me know if I miss any <33
Dabi | Hawks | Todoroki Shoto | Bakugo Katsuki | Midoriya Izuku | Shigaraki Tomura | Aizawa Shota | Amajiki Tamaki | Kirishima Eijiro | Shinso Hitoshi
Tumblr media
You both had been fighting for at least half an hour, screaming at one another for this and that. It started with Bakugo 'forgetting' to pick up your sons from school, and has now escalated into you screaming at him for not 'caring about this family' and his yelling about how hard he works for your family.
No one was totally to blame, both parties had some points that were right, and some that were wrong. But it should have never reached that point.
~~~
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD I WORK TO PROVIDE FOR THIS FAMILY! I TOLD YOU WHEN YOU BEGGED FOR KIDS THAT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HELP OUT MUCH! WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT FROM ME!"
"I UNDERSTAND THAT- BUT YOU'VE HAD THREE DAYS OFF! YOU'RE FULLY RESTED- AND SHOULD'VE PICKED UP THE KIDS NO PROBLEM WHILE I WAS HELPING OUT YOUR MOM!"
"WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO! I FORGOT ABOUT IT, OKAY! AND YOU DIDN'T CALL TO REMIND ME EITHER!"
"I EXPECTED YOU TO HAVE ENOUGH BRAINS TO REMEMBER, BUT I GUESS THAT WAS IDIOTIC OF ME!"
"I HAVE SO MUCH TO DEAL WITH BESIDES THIS BULL CRAP THAT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! I WORK, YOU TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS!"
"KATSUKI I CANNOT WATCH THE KIDS 24-7 WITHOUT YOUR HELP! I NEED BREAKS TOO! YOU HAVE TWO DAYS OFF A WEEK TO RELAX, AND CATCH UP ON SLEEP! WHILE I HAVE NIGHT TIME, BATHROOM BREAKS, RUNNING ERANDS, AND NAP TIMES TO CATCH A BREAK! I SHOULD BE ABLE TO RELY ON MY HUSBAND TO HELP OUT WHEN HE HAS TIME OFF!"
"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WANTED THE KIDS IN THE FIRST PLACE- WHY ARE YOU WHINING TO ME ABOUT HAVING TO TAKE CARE OF 'EM!"
"WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THEY AREN'T YOURS!? WE BOTH AGREED ON DOING THE BEST WE COULD FOR OUR KIDS, AND YOU SAID THAT YOU'D HELP OUT WHENEVER YOU COULD!"
"Y/N IT WAS THIS ONE TIME- I WAS BUSY, I FORGOT!"
"YOU WERE PLAYING GAMES ALL DAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS! THAT IS NOT BUSY!"
Blazing anger filled Bakugo as he stepped towards you, planning on simply getting closer to you to somehow try and make you see his side of things. He didn't mean to forget about picking up his kids, he loves his kids, he was simply engrossed in talking about them to his friends as he gamed, totally forgetting about the time and the fact that they were at school, waiting for someone to pick them up.
In truth, Bakugo felt bad. Really bad. But you wouldn't stop, so he continued, his unwavering pride making it near impossible to simply apologize and leave the argument behind.
Storming towards you, Bakugo stopped dead in his tracks as you flinched from him, eyes holding a certain terror. Wait- did you- did you think he was going to hurt you?!
Apologies and 'are you okay's were caught in Bakugo's throat as he opened his mouth, too terrified to speak.
Y/n.. his y/n was scared..of him. HIs y/n- the person that tore him out of his 'I don't care about anything or anyone' stage. She brought him out of his dark pit of self loathing, hating himself for how weak he was, how he couldn't do anything compared to that idiot Deku. She brought light into his world, she is his light. His first and last love, his wife, his center, his other half, his partner, his reason for life, the mother of his children, his one and only lover, his queen, his everything.
And he scared her.
Screamed at her for something that was his fault.
Treated her so badly that she flinched away from him- terror filling her eyes.
Her gorgeous e/c eyes. The same eyes that his sons had inherited. Now he's brought tears to three sets of those goregous eyes. What a scum bag.
Pain seared through Bakguo as he embraced his y/n, knowing if he left now she would entirely break, thinking that he was giving up on her. On their love. When in reality, he would't be. He would never dream of leaving her, or their beautiful children.
Because no matter how much of an a-hole Bakugo may be, he would never stoop that low. Never. And so he held her, and continued to hold her as she tearfully cussed him out, telling him how much she loved him and how much of an a-hole he was for treating her like that, their kids like that.
He just held her, telling her that he was sorry, that he knew, that he would make it up to her -and their seven year old twins- somehow.
And for now, that was enough. His love, and comfort was enough as you clung to him, insulting him while telling him that you loved his idiotic self in the same sentence, telling him that you loved him too much to not be able to forgive him.
And that if he was serious about making things right, that you would help him.
Because you were Bakugo y/n*. You chose to take his name and become his wife. Bakugo has helped you through so many up and downs, so you would do the same for him. Because he truly loved you, and you truly loved him.
*Japanese last names go in front of the first name to pay respect to the family name, and that's why Kirishima and Bakugo's other classmates call him Bakugo instead of Katsuki -to pay respect to his family name-. So you would be (in Japan anyway) Bakugo y/n (if you choose to take his last name) and strangers/aquaintnesses/not so close friends and co-workers would call you Bakugo instead of y/n. Annd due to me not liking Bakugo a whole lot I call him Bakugo or Baka/Bakuhoe instead of Katuski and call Todoroki and Midoriya, Shoto and Izuku- do you get what I'm saying?? I hope you do <33
I fucking hate BNHA The last panel about "granma is here" in fact further proves my point on another post of how empty and nonsensical BNHA became in the last arc because AfO wanting Tomura from the very beginning made impossible for him to be saved anyway, which means all his beef with the heroes became unjustified and his speech about violence and heroes and villains held no importance in the end. Why?
Because you cannot have a character built over the premise that society was so corrupt and selfish that put a little boy in the bad bad villain's reach for 5 arcs, to then say "oh, wait. He was fucked anyway because the bad bad guy was behind everything all along"
A bad bad guy not even all might in his prime could defeat, so it doesn't matter if people would or wouldn't help others. "It's all bad bad guy's fault anyway and he's practically immortal." Perfect, now we know granma didn't stand a chance against AfO, he planned this.
The whole idea of a society that relies on heroes too much instead of everyone doing their part from kindness falls like a house of cards if you have an evil so corrupt that none of said kindness will mean a thing. The moment Horikoshi went from "Tomura was found by AfO" to "Tomura was planned by AfO" the core theme of his series crumbled down. The league as a device lost its meaning, the characters that composed it became unjustified because whatever motivation they had was in fact a manipulation from the greater evil. And this applies to everyone.
What's the point in Toga and Twice calling out the lack of help for people with mental illness and problematic quirks if the message still is "If you do bad things out of despair no one will help you and you'll get killed." And yes, Toga died loved, Toga wanted to be loved, but she didn't wanted to die?? She was literally an abandoned child who found a family and ended up dying giving blood to the same girl she stabbed. And yeah, it's kinda poetic she died giving blood instead of taking it, but what was the point if she doesn't get to know she's loved? Further more, are we really to believe Ochako loved Toga? A girl she literally didn't know. Sorry, but once I got lost in a mall and a police officer helped me find my mom, that doesn't mean the officer loved me. And yeah, Ochako tried her best to be a good hero, but it's not about what the characters do, it's what the story tells you it happens with what they do. The story just told you the ill and abandoned die in the end before anyone helps them. And they die hunted by the police. What's the point of Touya as a whole? oh, wait. I know, it must be very awful for Endeavor to be such a bad person, his child ended up incapacitated. Very hard on Endeavor. Fuck Dabi being turned into a piece of charcoal, IT'S HARD ON HIS DAD.
What's the point in Spinner pointing out discrimination and people following him if in the end we got that he should have stayed in his lane, in his room, friendless because he only went out to be seen by someone who accepted him, just to have that person tortured in front of him before he was killed. And for what? For a teen to tell him "Yo, bro. I punched your bestie to death, make a comic about it. Btw you'll be staying in jail forever. So so sorry for you guys." Proving once again, murder is okay if you are on the right side of the story. No matter how much compassion, Tomura showed Spinner, or how much he suffered through life. Heroes had the right to kill him, and there was nothing Spinner (who legit loved his friend) could do about it because AfO had taken over. Again, another good character turned pointless, with a pointless point of view, with a pointless conclusion because he can tell the story of Tomura Shigaraki all he wants FROM JAIL, but under the public eye Tomura will go down as an insane mass murderer either way since looking at him in any other light would inevitably make a target of Izuku for killing him and that won't happen. You cannot have "the best hero ever" and "he killed this dude that was kinda right" in the same sentence. It doesn't make sense. Not to mention his case against discrimination went nowhere since everyone who followed him became a villain and the only person who actually makes a point about discrimination ends up being Deku on another, totally different chapter that had nothing to do with Spinner. And...he's a hero so he can say whatever he wants, we go back to "questioning bad, unless a hero says it" and "people are really that horrible in BNHA universe".
Tomura's case it's even more fucked because even when he said he didn't want a future, every single wish he had fell flat. His hatred for not being saved as a child proved to be out of anyone's control, his desire to destroy society didn't land because nothing really changed. There are still schools for child soldiers, and people are still not questioning the violence heroes use to keep the status quo, and certainly no one is wondering how is that a couple of heroes were able to kill a couple of villains (because so far Hawks still has a job). His friends ended up dead or locked away, and the child in him that begged to be saved ended up...being not. In the end, we got a suffering festival for Tomura, from his granma being pushed to drop her kid, his dad being tricked, his parents getting killed in front of him, Mon-chan and Hana's memory squeezed dry and young Tenko asking for help while Tomura was assaulted by his creepy guardian for 200 chapters straight just to tell us that Deku at sixteen was a great hero for putting a twenty one-year-old dissociated guy out of his misery like a euthanized dog. And for what? To finish a guy who was infatuated with his dead brother AND THAT COULD HAVE BEEN EXECUTED IN JAIL LIKE...300 CHAPTERS AGO, since the manga already made the point that villains can be executed with little repercussion, and it can be justified if said villain it's a threat. Then...why was AfO alive to begin with? Oh, I guess this is something we can trust to a 16 year old instead of... the government or whatever. And yeah, these are tragic figures, they certainly are, but you can hardly claim that they achieved anything in the end because the first premise of the league, why it was formed and why they joined was
To live as we want/are. And now they are dead, or locked away, or bedridden crispy for something that was planted by someone else from the very beginning. And what they believed didn't change anything in the end because it's not like the public saw them do something meaningful but, again, they are being told what to believe, by whom? BY THE HEROES. Are we really arguing that Iguchi's comic will change society? ARE WE FOR REAL????? Have you ever read the story of Jesus Christ? he died for our sins by Marvel. And on top of that as the last nail in the coffin to prove that NOTHING changed, Hawks really said rebranding + target audience =📈🤙🏼 StOnKS✨ I wish I was joking.
shigaraki, twice, mr. compress, & spinner with a civilian s/o
Tumblr media
requested by @supernatural-hunter1
“Hi, I read your Dabi with a civilian S/O (aside from the other characters) I want to ask? how even more interesting it would be if the rest of the LOV (Shigaraki, Spinner, Mr. Compress, or whoever else would prefer?) also had a civilian S/O? (quirk or quirkless)”
these are all like,, pre-seasons 5-7
pt. one
Tumblr media
shigaraki tomura / shimura tenko:
⤷ like i said with dabi, i don’t see him being with a civilian. or anyone.
⤷ but if he ended up with a (civilian) partner, i think he’d be protective. especially when it came to pros and the other members.
⤷ he’d be kinda shitty at first, i’ll be so fr.
⤷ it’s nothing like,, extreme. just him acting sort of petty and non communicative when it came to things that bothered him.
⤷ there was a point (early in the relationship) where you almost broke up but, he felt genuine fear at the thought of losing you—
⤷ so you both sat and had a really really really long talk.
⤷ he’s not great with words, or with anything, honestly. but, he begins to try for you. especially after that conversation.
⤷ though, there came a point in the relationship where he had to confess he was part of the league— and he was baffled by how well you took it (aka you already knew)(he didn’t hide it well or at all tbh).
⤷ which— speaking of— he finally introduced you to his… ‘colleagues’.
⤷ immediately toga was obsessed with you!! in the big sibling sort of way, of course.
⤷ the others had no choice but to trust his judgement so they were pretty decent towards you.
⤷ aside from toga, you and spinner got along the best. which worked well for shig since they both gamed together (my personal hc). so having his gaming buddy & partner get along was great.
⤷ anyways, i think as your relationship develops, he becomes a lot better and he’s able to voice his emotions more.
⤷ all in all, he’s a piece of shit at first but, with just a bit of communication, he becomes better. <3
twice / bubaigawara jin:
⤷ squeals
⤷ your relationship with him is oddly cute.
⤷ i think you started dating a year after he joined the league.
⤷ he’s the type to be friends first then eventually become lovers. (which i adore <3) (friends to lovers >>)
⤷ he’s vocal in ways that contradict his emotions (as we all know)
⤷ so communication is definitely hard.
⤷ but!! he eventually finds ways to convey his feelings without the troubles of misunderstanding.
⤷ he’s the type to go above and beyond for his partner. especially since he isn’t always able to voice his love without a sarcastic comment trailing behind.
⤷ twice is a gentle person, despite him being part of the league. which is what makes him a sweet boyfriend.
⤷ he slowly introduces you to the league. first starting off with toga— who immediately saw you as a big sibling. (i love jin and toga’s friendship. big bro & lil sis!!)
⤷ he’s very careful when he introduces you to the others. he knows how they are and isn’t sure what they’d do. (but he couldn’t keep hiding you anyways cause they were starting to piece it all together)
⤷ he’s very careful as to not have you close to the sights of their missions. he doesn’t want you getting hurt if there’s a fight.
⤷ again, he’s such a sweet and gentle boyfriend.
⤷ and you wouldn’t ask for anyone else!!
mr. compress / sako atsuhiro:
⤷ bbygorl……………
⤷ compress is such a gentleman <3
⤷ he pulls out your chair for you nd everything!!
⤷ i think he’s a very,, committed?? partner.
⤷ like— he’s the type to only date someone if he sees a future with them.
⤷ he’s very adamant on you meeting his ‘family’. (i like to think that, despite his status, he’s a big family guy)
⤷ he’s so polite and sweet, you wouldn’t even suspect he’s part of the league.
⤷ sooo when you found out he was, you were quite shocked. but accepted him nonetheless, you love him afterall.
⤷ anyways, i think the league has a hard time accepting you— except for toga & twice (those sweethearts)
⤷ he’s also a very protective partner. not in the crazy way but— in the way where he makes sure you’re never caught in the crossfire of his “wrongdoings”.
⤷ he’s such a good partner— i can’t stress that enough!!
⤷ he’s so “in a world of boys, he’s a gentleman” core… (let’s just ignore the fact that he’s a villain…)
⤷ he’s just a sweet cutie patootie
spinner / iguchi shuichi:
⤷ tbh i don’t see him being w anyone period. he seems too devoted to his ‘work’ to even think abt a relationship.
⤷ that being said… he’s a bit negligent as a partner.
⤷ he prioritizes his ‘job’ over you and it causes trouble in the relationship.
⤷ he wouldn’t be the best partner in the beginning.
⤷ it takes multiple talks and an ‘almost’ breakup before he gets his shit together.
⤷ but once he does— he’s truly a good partner.
⤷ his good treatment towards you isn’t the typical ‘one month and he goes back to before’ kind of thing. he continues to be a great boyfriend.
⤷ and going back to the multiple talks— you set some ground rules. you wanted to know where he was sneaking off to, who his friends are, and just what he does for a living.
⤷ this meant him introducing you to his… buddies…
⤷ personally, i think they all would like you (minus shiggy but he’s a lil bitch boy [/aff] so he doesn’t count)
⤷ they definitely trust his judgement considering how he is— which is harsh and a bit rude.
⤷ but anyways, he always keeps you out of the crossfires of his work. it’d destroy him if you ever got hurt or worse.
⤷ you made him into a little bit of a softie.. <3
Tumblr media
sorry my pookies i was a teensy high writing this…
idk why but being high just gives me motivation to write…
Honestly, there’s some BS wafting about Deku and All Might’s final discussion on Tomura.
“Deku’s upset he couldn’t have Tenko’s life.”
Oh is he now? Because that wasn’t the impression I got when Deku said he was trying to break Shigaraki and AFO in one go before.
“But he refused to stop being the leader of League of Villains.”
Well, yeah…why would he? At no point did Deku do anything like; try to convince him he’s doing things wrong, or that there’s a better way, I don’t recall if he even brought up any moral arguments either. He barely even talked to Tomura until he got to Tenko and told him how nice it is to hold people’s hands. As I said before, my man went out thinking he was going about the best way to save him and his friends and at no point was ever challenged on that. At what point in there was he supposed to even consider to stop being the leader of the League?
“All Might is sure he understood Deku’s intentions.”
Yeah and I think that’s why he tried to get Deku run over by a truck.
“Well that depends on what you guys do from now on. Good luck.”
For all the above reasons, I just cannot read this as being said in good faith. Shigaraki knows Deku’s gonna fuck up bad and/or put everything he hates right back to normal, that’s the only interpretation I can manage.
Enough to Go By (Chapter 7) - a Shigaraki x f!Reader fic
Your best friend vanished on the same night his family was murdered, and even though the world forgot about him, you never did. When a chance encounter brings you back into contact with Shimura Tenko, you'll do anything to make sure you don't lose him again. Keep his secrets? Sure. Aid the League of Villains? Of course. Sacrifice everything? You would - but as the battle between the League of Villains and hero society unfolds, it becomes clear that everything is far more than you or anyone else imagined it would be. (cross-posted to Ao3)
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8
Chapter 7
Kurogiri snatches you from the alleyway behind the clinic. You’re ready for it, or as ready as it’s possible to be when you don’t know what Tenko’s planning. When you reappear, you’re not in the bar – instead you’re in the hallway outside Tenko’s room, and the door to his room is open. He looks pleased to see you. The hand’s already down off his face.
“You’re here. Good,” he says – but his expression shifts from anticipation into something sharper almost instantly. “What is it? Are you –”
This has been the worst twenty-four hours you’ve had since the night you first saw Tenko again. Between the visit with your family and the news about Kazuo and your encounter with Tenko’s master, you don’t have it in you to pretend. You take an unsteady step closer to him. “Can I, um –”
“What?” Tenko asks, but some part of him must know, because his arms lift from his sides, opening to leave space between them. You take another step closer, until you’re well within the space, and you know when he realizes, because he takes a sharp breath. “Yeah, you can. Go ahead.”
He hugs you back too tightly, but you’re probably hugging him too tightly in the first place. He can’t decide where to put his hands. He keeps trying different spots, but no matter where he touches you, it’s never with more than three fingers down. For your part, you keep your hands still on his back, resisting the urge to run them over his shoulder blades or along his spine. He’s really thin. Almost malnourished thin. No wonder his wounds take so long to heal.
You let your head fall against his shoulder, let your eyes fall shut. “What happened?” Tenko asks. He adjusts his grip on you without fully letting go. “Why do you look like that?”
His master said not to tell Tenko – no, advised you not to tell Tomura. But he also said he’d have no further dealings with you. You don’t know where Kurogiri is, what Kurogiri might say, so you speak as quietly as you can, your mouth just below Tenko’s ear. “I met your master.”
Tenko stiffens. “What?”
“Kurogiri took me to him. I thought he was taking me to you, but –”
“What did he want?” Tenko asks. His voice is tense, already going flat. “What did you tell him?”
“He wanted to know how I knew you. I told him about how we met last year, when you came to the clinic.” You feel Tenko’s shoulders relax slightly at that. “I used the right name. I don’t –”
“Here.” Tenko pulls away from you, but only long enough to pull you through the door to his room and shut it behind you both. “What else did he ask?”
“About my quirk. He said he’d give me one, but he changed his mind.” You try to remember, but it’s hard verging on impossible. All you can think of is the hand closing over your face, the enormous figure looming over you. “He said I was your game piece, not his. What does that mean?”
You look up at Tenko. Tenko’s expression is somehow grim and calculating at the same time. “He says everything’s for me. Everything should be as I want it, so he won’t take you away,” he says. Then, almost to himself: “But he was suspicious. If he finds out –”
“Finds out what?”
“Here.” Tenko pulls you closer than before. This time you feel his chapped lips against your ear. “I was supposed to say goodbye to my old name. When he gave me my family to wear.”
His family to wear. His family – the hands. You almost throw up. Tenko keeps talking, faster now. “I didn’t think about it. I hadn’t in years, until – and I feel different when I hear it. Different than I’m supposed to. I want the same things, but more things. I don’t know how to say it.”
“You’re not supposed to be Tenko anymore.” You feel him nod. “You feel more like that when you’re with me.”
Tenko nods again. “You always know how to say it right.”
“I know you,” you say. His grip on you tightens. “You’re in trouble with him because of me.”
“No.” Tenko’s index finger taps a pattern on your back. “I feel better when you’re here.”
That doesn’t mean he’s not in trouble. It just means he cares about it less, or he’s less worried than you are. “Just be careful with my name,” he continues. “Call me Sensei’s name around everyone else, even Kurogiri. When it’s just us, like right now –”
“Tenko,” you say, and he nods. You feel a little better, maybe. You don’t know for sure. And you know you’ve been hugging him for way too long. You step back. “Sorry about this. I –”
“Don’t,” Tenko says. “I told you. I don’t mind.”
The two of you look at each other for a moment. In your peripheral vision, you can see that the room’s even cleaner than it was the last time you were here. The coffee table still has a pileup of games on it, but there’s also an open energy drink can sitting there. With a flower sticking out of it.
You fixate on the flower. “Where’d you get that?”
“I found it,” Tenko says, but he can’t hold your gaze, which means he’s lying and he probably stole it. “So you wouldn’t get confused this time.”
“About whether it’s a date?” you ask. He nods without looking at you. “Okay. It’s a date.”
“It’s a date right now,” Tenko corrects. “The new members of the League will be here at midnight. Do you have a disguise?”
“I think so.” You’ve been carrying it around in your bag, since you don’t have a way to predict when Tenko will call for you. “Do you want to see it?”
He nods. You fish both pieces of it out of your bag and put it on, situating the veil over your face and peering at Tenko through the filmy fabric. “Can you see my face?”
“Not really.” Tenko tilts his head, studying you. “What is it?”
“My friends and I dressed up as vampire brides last Halloween, but I went a little too hard on the bride part,” you say. “I was going to use a mask, but it was hard to breathe, and I couldn’t see very well. And the veil covers my hair, too.”
Tenko nods again. “What’s the crown made of?”
“It’s supposed to look like thorns.” You cringe a little bit. “Hirono made me wear it with the costume, and I still needed something to hold the veil in place. Does it work?”
Tenko comes closer. A lot closer. “Not at this range,” he says. You’d have to agree. If you can count his eyelashes through the veil, he can definitely see your face. “I’m not letting any of them that close to you or me. You can take it off now.”
You lift the crown off, and the veil after it, and Tenko takes them from you, setting them down on the end of the coffee table next to the hand he usually wears on his face. They look unbelievably weird laid out next to each other – like the costume pieces they are, things the two of you can take on and off whenever you want to instead of symbols of what Tenko already is, what you’re getting yourself into. “The others won’t be here for a few hours,” Tenko says. “Do you want to play a game?”
“Do you need to do anything to get ready for the meeting?” you ask. “It sounds important.”
“The plan’s already done. I’ll tell you about who will be there, but we don’t need anything else. Just –” Tenko lifts his head as if to scratch at his neck, then lowers it again. “I don’t want to think about it right now. I’ve thought about it enough. Can we –”
“Yeah,” you say at once. “Let’s just play.”
You play Call of Duty again, starting off in co-op mode this time. You were so worried that your skills would atrophy that you made Ryuhei and Mitsuru play with you until you got better, something Tenko remarks on right away. “I can’t believe you practiced.”
“I wouldn’t be much of a sidekick if I stayed dead weight,” you say. “Don’t worry. It won’t last long.”
The two of you still have a ways to go before the intermediate levels, and with the pressure off, Tenko starts telling you about the allies he’s collected. Mostly guys – for whatever reason, there aren’t a lot of female villains. The two women are Hiikishi, who goes by Magne, and Toga, who goes by Toga. Magne’s an adult with a serious record, and Toga would have a serious record if she was an adult, which she isn’t. “Seventeen?” you say, startled. “She’s just a kid.”
“She’s a Stain fan,” Tenko says. He rolls his eyes, then takes out an entire group of enemies advancing on the two of you without looking at the screen. “So are two of the others. One of them’s got a fire quirk. He’s an asshole. The other one – he’s hard to get a read on. Keep an eye on him.”
“I can do that,” you say. You see a solitary enemy sneaking up behind Tenko’s character, adjust your viewpoint minutely, and shoot them before they can shoot him. “Who else?”
Toga apparently isn’t the only kid who’s taking on a life of villainy. There’s another high school student, too, and you think about what Kazuo said, about the question of whether the creation of new villains can be prevented. Two of the other new allies fall into the category of those Kazuo said would be drawn to violence regardless. You recognize both names from the news, and you’ve listened to enough true-crime podcasts at Mitsuru’s behest to know that at least one of them is supposed to be behind bars. “Did you break them out?”
“Kurogiri’s doing that,” Tenko says, unworried. “They’re the distraction. Compress will be doing the real work.”
“Compress?”
“We were lucky to find him,” Tenko says. There’s a nasty grin on his face. “You’ll hear more about him when we go over the plan. We – dammit.”
The two of you leveled up while you were talking, and there are twice as many enemies as before. You decide to drop the line of questioning and focus on the game. Playing with Mitsuru and Ryuhei, you never got through the first of the intermediate levels. Tenko’s better than they are by a long shot, but you’ll need all your wits about you to avoid dragging him down.
You and Tenko play in silence for the most part, working together as a team, and you notice the two of you shifting closer together as the game continues, moving from your separate corners of the couch to the middle of it. You’re paying attention to the game, but every so often your mind drifts – to the flower in the energy drink can, to the fact that this is apparently a date, to the fact that Tenko let you hug him and hugged you back. If this is a date, if he keeps calling it a date, there must be something he wants from you that’s more than this, more than whatever the two of you are doing right now. You could ask what it is. Part of you doesn’t want to know.
You and Tenko clear one or two intermediate levels, but on the third one, you know the two of you are in deep trouble. You’re low on health already, courtesy of getting dinged a few times on the level before, and your skills, while improved, aren’t good enough to let you hold your own. Tenko’s having to protect you, just like you were worried he would, and in the process, he’s taking damage, too. Despite that, courtesy of Tenko’s skills and your weird accuracy, the two of you progress to the end of the level. Almost.
“Come on,” Tenko hisses. He’s two seconds away from disintegrating his controller. “We can make it.”
No, you can’t. Not both of you. But if Tenko can get through, he can get to a save point, and you can finish the level later. If you both die, you have to go back to the beginning. With that in mind, it’s an easy choice. You maneuver your character between Tenko’s and the enemies sneaking up on him from behind, and shoot as many of them as you can before they overwhelm you. Tenko turns to stare at you in horror. “You died?”
“You didn’t. Go!”
Tenko swears, shoots the enemies you couldn’t kill, and clears the level at speed. He saves his progress. Then he turns on you. “What happened?”
You point at the screen, which is showing a slow-motion replay of your character getting absolutely shredded by enemy fire. “You were blocking for me?” Tenko looks unhappy. “Idiot. We could have won.”
“I was slowing you down too much,” you say. “I could help you get through, so I did. Now you don’t have to start over.”
“But you do.”
“I’m the sidekick. It’s okay,” you say. You’re not sure why he’s looking at you like that. “And even if I wasn’t your sidekick – there’s no way I’d let my best friend lose.”
Tenko doesn’t say a word in response. Instead he sets his controller aside, then lifts yours out of your hands and does the same. You’re sitting really close together right now. He said this was a date. You make eye contact with Tenko, or try to. He’s not looking into your eyes. He’s looking at your mouth.
He’s being really obvious. You wonder if he knows. “Have you kissed anyone before?”
“Yeah. You.” Tenko doesn’t look away from your mouth. “Don’t you remember?”
For a moment you don’t. But then you remember the picture of the two of you on Valentine’s Day, and what happened after the picture was taken – you taking the valentine from him, planting a poorly-aimed kiss half on his mouth and half on his cheek, and promptly running away. You’re surprised he’s counting that. But you would count it, too, if it was the only thing you had to count.
“I remember,” you say. “So this is going to be our second kiss.”
“Who said I was going to kiss you?”
“You’ve been staring at my mouth for the last minute and a half. I’m not sure what else you could be doing,” you say. Tenko’s face turns red, which means you’re right, but he still doesn’t make a move. “Did you change your mind?”
“No.” Tenko shakes his head. “I don’t know where to put my hands.”
“Don’t do anything with them for now,” you suggest. Your heart is beating faster. “Let’s just try it and see how it goes.”
He’s leaning closer now, shifting position to close the gap even further. The flush in his cheeks is darker than before. “I’m not going to be good at it.”
“Hey, I was pretty bad at Call of Duty last time,” you say. Tenko starts to argue that kissing and Call of Duty have absolutely nothing in common, and you cut him off. “You know how I got better? I practiced.”
Tenko finally tears his eyes away from your mouth. “You wouldn’t have had anything to practice if I hadn’t taught you how. You should kiss me.”
“I kissed you the first time,” you say. “It’s your turn.”
It’s quiet for a second. “Fine,” Tenko says. He leans in and you tilt your head to the proper angle and your lips meet for the first time in fifteen years.
You really don’t want to count the kiss when you were five as your first kiss, but Tenko’s counting it, so you sort of have to. His lips are rough against yours, not in pressure but in texture, and you’re careful as you kiss him back. Careful for a whole host of reasons. His hands are curled into fists on his thighs, and you don’t want him to move without thinking. You don’t want him to pull away, either, which is what he’ll do if you go overboard. It’s not the hottest first kiss you’ve ever had, but it’s the most intense by far. The fact that your lips are the only point of contact makes it even more so.
You’re trying to be careful, but you’re not careful enough – Tenko’s lower lip splits, and you taste blood. You sit back in a hurry. “Sorry. I didn’t mean –”
“I don’t care.” Tenko closes the gap between you again, presses his lips against yours a second time. “Do you?”
“I don’t want to stop kissing you,” you admit. You feel Tenko’s lips curve into a smile, spilling more blood onto yours. “But you have to let me make it up to you.”
“How?”
You unfold your hands from your sides and raise them, setting them on Tenko’s shoulders. Tenko freezes. You risk dragging your thumbs slowly across his collarbones, too prominent just like his shoulder blades and vertebrae are, and see his eyes fall half-lidded. A slow shudder runs through him, shedding tension in its wake. “Do you mind?” you ask.
“No.” Tenko kisses you again.
Kissing Tenko is – strange. It’s not bad. Definitely not bad, and definitely not something you want to stop doing, but still, it feels strange. Part of it is the taste of his blood on your lips, the almost-starved ridges of his shoulders and spine under your hands, the fact that you can touch him but he can’t touch you. And part of it is the missing piece of time, those fifteen years where you would have known each other if this hadn’t happened to Tenko – whatever this was. It feels almost like a blink. When you look back in your memories, you’re little kids, linking pinkies on the way to school. Now you’re kissing on the bed in Tenko’s room with Call of Duty paused in the background. Or making out. If the total lack of daylight between your mouth and Tenko’s is anything to go by, you graduated to making out already.
You can’t get your tongue involved without tasting even more of his blood, but the sound he makes and the shudder that runs through him when you swipe your tongue across his lower lip to clear it away makes it almost worth it. His fists are no longer resting on his thighs – now they’re on yours, fingers uncurling and curling again. You dare to slide one hand upward, tracing the back of his neck, and Tenko groans, shudders. The thought comes to you, again, that you should be careful with him. He’s so thin, so shaky under your hands. If you push him too far, he might break apart.
Tenko’s trying to talk without disconnecting his mouth from yours. That’s not going to work. You wrap your arms around his neck so he knows you’re not going anywhere and sit back. “What is it?”
“I want to touch you.” Tenko’s eyes are locked on yours this time, and the hunger and desperation you see there takes you by surprise. “I don’t know how to make it safe. I don’t want –”
Something happens to him then. You don’t know how to describe it. Something flashes behind his eyes, and his shoulders tense beneath your hands, muscles turning so rigid and brittle that they feel as though they could shatter. “It’s okay,” you say quickly. You shift closer to him without asking first, halfway into his lap, trying to give him some of the contact he wants without getting his hands involved. “You could go slow. Or be careful. Or if you had gloves –”
Tenko’s eyes light up. “Wait here.”
You shift out of his lap as requested and he gets to his feet, heading for one corner of the room. You take a second to get composed.  You can still taste Tenko’s blood on your lips, and when you raise your hands to touch your cheeks, they feel hot. Kissing him feels good, is good – but you’ve always liked your makeouts a little more hands-on, and once Tenko’s able to touch you safely, you can’t vouch for how well you’ll behave yourself. Are you really the only one who’s ever kissed him? He must be a quick study. Even with his blood on your lips, you’re already missing the heat of his mouth on yours.
Tenko’s back a moment later. He has a pair of gloves on – gloves that are missing the first three fingers. It takes all five to activate his quirk, which means you’re safe, and he still has the chance to touch you directly. He hesitates before he sits down again. “Do you really want –”
“Yes.” You catch his hand – it’s safe to do that now – and pull him down beside you. He makes a startled sound, which you immediately muffle in a kiss. It’s cute, but there are sounds you like better. “I want you.”
You were going to be more specific with what you wanted – I want you sounds heavy as all hell when the two of you have only just gotten physical – but Tenko doesn’t give you the chance. He wraps his arms around you tightly, so tight that it’s almost hard to breathe, but he doesn’t hold you that way for long. Soon enough his hands are roaming across your back from shoulder to hip, freezing briefly when they encounter your bra through your shirt, all while he deepens the kiss to an almost unsustainable degree. It’s like he’s trying to steal the air out of your lungs.
Tenko’s hands seize your shoulder, your hip, and grip hard. You don’t like being handled roughly, but held – that’s something different. You swallow a gasp and press closer to him, almost in his lap again. His grip on you tightens further and he pulls you the rest of the way. Your lips unlock from his in the move, coming loose with a slurping sound that would probably make you cringe under other circumstances, with someone else. As it is, you seize the opportunity to catch your breath.
Tenko looks up at you. His fingers are pressing deeply into your skin, hard enough to bruise through your clothes. His chest rises and falls rapidly, pressing against your own, and his red eyes are wide, pupils dilated. When you shift, trying to get settled in his lap, he sucks in a sharp breath. “Hold still.”
You’re comfortable now. You don’t mind. You look at him, studying the small things, the ones you remember from before. The tousled, slightly messy texture of his hair. His eyelashes, always a little longer than you expect them to be. The birthmark at the corner of his mouth, which you lean in to kiss lightly. You’ve always wanted to do that. Half the reason your first kiss was so messy was because you couldn’t decide whether to aim for the birthmark or his lips.
When you draw back, you see a surprised look on Tenko’s face. “You like that?” he asks. You nod, and a strange expression flickers across his face. “My grandma had it too.”
“I don’t remember that.”
“My other one. I saw in a picture.” Tenko’s thumb moves in slow circles over your hip, like he’s rubbing a worry stone. You don’t think he even knows he’s doing it. “She was a hero.”
“Really?” You didn’t expect him to say that. He nods. “You never told me.”
“I was going to.” Tenko’s eyes shift away from yours. “I found out that day.”
That day. It takes you a second to parse that, but once you do, your blood runs cold. The question balances on the tip of your tongue, a question you’ve been asking yourself for fifteen years, a question you know you shouldn’t ask him. You don’t need to know what happened. You saw what happened. All you need to know is that he’s here.
“Hey,” you say softly. Tenko won’t look at you, so you reach out, cupping the curve of his cheek, turning him back to put you face to face, if not eye to eye. “I’m glad you told me now. Better late than never. It would have been good to know for our games.”
Tenko scoffs at that. “We used to play some stupid games.”
“I liked them,” you say. “I like any game I play with you.”
Tenko’s been avoiding eye contact, but now he looks at you, and your breath catches. You can’t let him look at you like that. You’ll say more than you mean to. “Do you want to keep talking?” you ask. “Or do you want to make out some more?”
For a second you think Tenko will opt for talking. He looks like he’s thinking about it. Then the hand on your shoulder shifts to wrap around the back of your neck, and he drags you down for another kiss.
This position seems like it works for the two of you. The difference in your heights is perfect for it, and it gives you a little more control over the kissing while giving Tenko the chance to put his hands wherever he wants. He keeps them well clear of anything too forward, and eventually he finds a place he likes for both of them – one on your lower back, beneath the hem of your shirt, and the other around the back of your neck. It keeps you close, as if there was any chance you’d pull away.
You’re kissing too deeply to talk, except for once, when Tenko pulls away to make eye contact. “No more dates with heroes.”
You only went on that one date with Sugimura. After the night on the rooftop in Hosu, you had to accept that your feelings were elsewhere. “None for you, either.”
Tenko snorts. Then, almost as an afterthought: “No more with anybody.”
“You’re trying to lock it down already?” you tease. “It’s only our second date.”
“I don’t care.” Tenko’s expression is serious. “I don’t want another sidekick. You shouldn’t want another –”
He trails off, searching for the word. The word that follows naturally is ‘hero’, but you understand why he won’t use it. “I don’t want that,” you say. “You can lock me down. As long as I get to lock you down. It’s only fair.”
When you’ve had talks with guys about exclusivity in the past, they’ve looked vaguely annoyed. Tenko actually looks pleased with the thought. Not that that stops him from ribbing you about it. “You’re the one with seven siblings. You don’t like sharing?”
“I hate it.” you say, and he laughs. “You would, too, if you were me.”
Tenko smirks. He leans back from you without loosening his grip. “Go ahead, then,” he says. “Lock me down.”
He really shouldn’t challenge you like that. It gives you ideas. You lean in like you’re going to kiss him again, diverting at the last second to kiss the side of his neck, and Tenko’s complaints about how you don’t get to lock him down if you won’t even kiss him evaporate in seconds. You keep kissing him anyway. He wants you to lock him down? Fine. You’ll make sure everybody who looks at him knows that he belongs to somebody, even if they don’t know who that somebody is.
His neck is sensitive, and he’s not the quiet type. As high as his pain tolerance supposedly is, he’s almost absurdly sensitive to pleasure, and you like the idea of making him feel good a little too much. You know it’s working when Tenko’s grip on you changes, when he starts scrabbling for purchase on your back or your hip rather than holding tight, but even better than that is the unsteady sound of his breathing in your ear, the little noises he makes. You like it when guys are vocal. After one sound that crosses the line into a moan, you stop, and speak without lifting your mouth from his skin. “Locked down enough for you?”
“Fuck,” Tenko mumbles. You draw back to look at him and find his face flushed. “Maybe a little more –”
You kiss his mouth this time. You’re getting used to the taste of blood.
You don’t hear footsteps in the hallway or hear the door open, but you absolutely hear Kurogiri’s voice issuing from the doorway. “Shigaraki Tomura. It is nearly midnight.”
You pull away from Tenko, but not completely enough – there’s a rope of saliva stretching between your lips and his, which you deal with by leaning in to kiss him again. Tenko’s clearly embarrassed by Kurogiri’s presence, but that doesn’t stop him from kissing you back before he pulls away. “Knock next time,” he snaps at Kurogiri. “Are they here?”
“I will retrieve them shortly. Once the two of you are presentable.” Kurogiri apparently doesn’t trust the two of you not to go back to making out. He stands in the doorway, watching as you scramble out of Tenko’s lap and Tenko gets to his feet. “So the date went well?”
There’s that syntax shift again. “Shut up,” Tenko mutters. “Don’t act like you didn’t break my rule. You took her to Sensei. You’re lucky I don’t kill you.”
“If his orders contradict yours, my instructions are to follow his,” Kurogiri says. Tenko’s head snaps up. “I thought you were aware.”
“Now I am.” Tenko straightens his shirt and settles the hand over his face. He turns to face you and you wince. “What?”
You’ve seen the sketch of him from the USJ incident. It’s been all over the news for the past few weeks. “The hands for your neck – you might want them. There’s, um, evidence.”
“Evidence?” Tenko repeats, puzzled. Then his face turns red around the hand. He hurries to the far corner of the room and lifts a set of hands out, quickly securing them around his neck. “Can you see it now?”
You shake your head. “It is well hidden,” Kurogiri remarks. He looks to you. “Your disguise?”
You forgot about that. You collect the veil and crown off the end of the coffee table and secure both over your head. “I will retrieve the others,” Kurogiri says. “But first, the two of you.”
Warp gates open beneath your feet and Tenko’s, and when they close, you find yourselves in the bar again. Kurogiri himself vanishes, and Tenko settles into his usual seat. You stand there awkwardly. “Where do you want me to be?”
“Sit here.” Tenko taps the bar, and you scramble up. “Watch everybody. Keep an eye on the Stain fans. Act like you already know the plan. I should have told you already. I just –”
“You had other things to think about.” Your veil hides your face better than the hand hides Tenko’s – your face can flush until you’re practically glowing and no one will be able to see it unless they’re right up close. “How will I know if you want me to step in?”
“You’ll know when, if you need to. I trust you.” Tenko looks left, then right – then down at his hands. “Fuck. I can’t wear these. They’ll –”
“Here.” You hold out your hands for Tenko’s, and when he extends them, you peel the gloves off and tuck them away. With the model hands on and all ten fingers exposed, he’s different. You’re not sure how to quantify it, but you know it’s there, and it prompts a question. “Should I call you Shigaraki or Tomura?”
“Shigaraki,” he says, and you nod – but then, as the first warp gates begin to appear, he changes his mind. “Tomura. You’re different than they are. They should know from the start.”
So he’s planning to make your status distinct from the others, right from the beginning. You don’t know if that’s a good idea, but before you can protest or push back even slightly, the first of the allies Tenko’s gathered step through the portals, and you fall silent. Unless something goes horrendously wrong, you’re going to stay that way for the duration of the meeting.
The first two villains to arrive are also the youngest – the girl, Toga, and the boy who named himself Mustard, after the gas. Next up is the fire quirk-user, notable because of his patchwork skin and the staples holding the living tissue to the dead. You stare from behind the safety of your veil. You have no idea how his body is holding together. It shouldn’t be possible.
Next is a heteromorph, green-skinned and purple-haired, wearing a Stain mask. He must be the one Tenko – no, Tomura – said was hard to get a read on. The one you’re supposed to watch.
Magne arrives, followed shortly afterwards by a masked man – Compress, definitely, because the two men who arrive last are the murderers Kurogiri must have just broken out of prison. They scare you in a way the others don’t, and you’re so wary of them that you almost miss the arrival of the last villain. And you really shouldn’t miss his arrival. After all, he’s the only villain here who you’ve met before.
“Twice?” you say, startled, and Tomura looks up at you. Luckily, everyone else is still getting their bearings, and at least you said it quietly. “Sorry.”
He shakes his head. “Tell me later,” he says, and then he faces the other villains.
You’re not sure what he’s going to say, where he’s going to start, but in spite of the hands and the crew of monsters he’s assembled, all you can see is your childhood friend when he speaks. He sounds like he always did, laying out the details of the story before the game begins. “The heroes have regained their confidence. Because they dealt with Stain, they think it’s all been solved. I know that at least a few of you have questioned the effectiveness of what the League’s done so far. So have I. So we’re going back to what worked last time. We’re going to attack UA.”
Your stomach lurches. No wonder Tenko didn’t tell you. He must have known you wouldn’t approve. “They’ve tightened up security since your last attack,” Toga pipes up. “I took a look around, like you said. Nobody noticed me, but the whole campus is locked up tight.”
“Good work,” Tomura says, and Toga grins. Her incisors are sharp. “Toga’s reconnaissance confirmed my conclusion: UA is impregnable for now, which is why we’re not attacking the school itself. They’re running a summer training camp at a remote location, with significantly less security. That’s where we’ll hit them.”
“Them,” the fire quirk-user repeats. “Not All Might.”
“Not yet. We need to level up before we take him on.” Tomura’s shoulders are tense. “Hitting the camp, threatening their precious students – if the heroes can’t even protect their own kind, they can’t claim to be capable of protecting everyone else. Besides, that’s not the only reason we’re going there. You all are a good start, but we’ll need more allies if we want to win.”
“Why do you need more?” Mustard asks. “You’ve got us. We’re not good enough?”
Based on the belligerence, this is a sore spot. If Tomura can’t navigate it, you’ll step in – but somewhere beneath the hands, Tomura’s still the kid who knew how to make everybody feel included. “We can’t fight a war on just one front,” he says. “You and the others will win the strategic battle by destroying UA’s sense of superiority. And while you’re doing that, Compress and Toga will collect what we need to win the PR battle as well.”
“Indeed,” Compress agrees. “Are there other students you’d like me to capture, Shigaraki? Or are you interested only in the victor from the Sports Festival?”
The explosion kid. You remember him – the one who was so batshit berserk that he had to be muzzled and chained to a pole for the award ceremony. Tomura wants him for the League? “Use your discretion,” Tomura says. “He’s the priority. If you see others who are better suited to us than to the heroes, take them, too.”
“And I’ll get the blood,” Toga chimes in. Everyone turns to stare at her. “My quirk lets me turn into the people whose blood I drink! I can make myself look like a student, and I can say anything I want.”
Like a living deepfake. You knew Tomura was smart, but this is verging on diabolical. “What about the rest of us, then?” Muscular asks. There’s a sharp smile on his face, and just like Tomura, he’s tense. “Are we supposed to just stand around?”
“There will be pro heroes present,” Tomura says. “Mustard will incapacitate the students, but the pros will be more difficult to handle.”
“Difficult? For me?” Muscular scoffs and takes a step forward. “Just because an underground hero handed you your ass doesn’t mean I’ll have a problem.”
“If Eraserhead cancels your quirk, you’ll be in the same spot as me,” Tomura says shortly. He gets to his feet. Not good. “If you think I’m that easy to defeat, try your luck.”
It looks like Muscular wants to. Tomura’s hands are open at his sides, rising slightly, and just like you did in the convenience store last year, you speak up. “Both of your records speak for themselves,” you say, and Muscular turns to stare at you. “Tomura recognizes that the pros pose a threat to the success of the plan. And he recognizes that you’re well-equipped to handle them. That’s why you’re here.”
It’s quiet for a second. Muscular doesn’t step back into line, and neither does Tomura – but neither of them make a move, and when Tomura speaks again, Muscular doesn’t interrupt. “If you haven’t been given a more specific assignment, your job is to sow chaos,” he says. “Dabi, Spinner, Magne, Muscular, Moonfish – deal with the pros. If you have the opportunity to kill them, do it, as slowly or as quickly as you’d like. If not, keep them out of the way.”
“What about the students?”
Moonfish sounds like he’s speaking through a mouthful of razors. It makes your skin crawl, but Tomura doesn’t flinch. “The focus needs to be on the heroes and their failings, not on a bunch of dead kids. If that happens, that’s all anyone will talk about,” Tomura says. “Hurt them. Don’t kill them. That goes for all of them – except one.”
“Which one?”
“Midoriya Izuku.”
“No.” The green-skinned heteromorph speaks up for the first time. “Not him.”
Tomura turns towards him, incredulous, and the heteromorph keeps talking. “Stain spared his life. He recognized him as a true hero. I won’t subvert Stain’s will like that.”
A joke pops into your head – Stain’s not gonna fuck you – and you clench your jaw shut. “Stain’s will?” Tomura repeats. “Stain lost.”
“His ideas still live,” the heteromorph – Spinner, you think – says. “Are you following in Stain’s footsteps or not?”
You see Tomura’s shoulders tense again and realize that you’ve got approximately three seconds before he blows his top. “Stain and Tomura share a belief that hero society is rotten to the core,” you say. “The fact that the only examples of true heroes Stain could find are All Might and a fifteen-year-old illustrates the decay. Don’t you think?”
You’ve put Tomura and Stain on the same conceptual level, and you’ve put Spinner on the spot – and most importantly, you’ve contained Tomura for the time being. “I guess,” Spinner says after a second. “I still don’t think –”
“If you’re worried about following in Stain’s footsteps, follow them by killing false heroes,” Tomura interrupts. “There will be plenty to choose from at the training camp. Don’t concern yourself with Midoriya Izuku. Act as your ideals demand.”
Tomura glances around the room. “That goes for all of you. Use what methods you’d like. Act as you see fit, so long as those actions don’t imperil our common goal. Disrupt the camp, disable any pro heroes who get in your way, kill them if you want, and assist Toga and Compress in completing their objectives.”
It’s quiet. You can tell Tomura’s waiting for an argument, and when one doesn’t come right away, he picks one. “Does anyone have issues with their assigned role?”
“I have an issue,” the fire quirk-user says. Dabi, you think. The one Tomura said was an asshole, and when he points one finger at you, you decide you agree with Tomura’s assessment. “What’s your role? Who are you?”
“Yeah,” Muscular says. “What’s under that veil? And why do you talk so much?”
“She’s our medic,” Tomura says. “She’s trustworthy.”
“She’s hiding her face.”
“So am I,” Twice pipes up. “And Compress. Shigaraki, too. Besides, it’s good to have a medic! If the medic’s good.”
You owe Twice for having your back, even if he doesn’t know you. Dabi doesn’t look convinced. “What’s your name?” he repeats.
“You get her name when I get yours,” Tomura says. “My alliance with her existed before the League did. She’s trustworthy.”
Toga squints at you, then takes a few steps closer. “I like your costume,” she says. “You look like a bride.”
“I can’t see your face at all,” Magne says. “Hopefully it’s cuter than the veil is.”
“I hope so, too,” you say. Magne laughs.
Tomura doesn’t like that. You can tell. “Kurogiri, bring the maps,” he orders. A warp gate opens in the middle of the room, disgorging a map taped to a rolling whiteboard. “I don’t know your quirks as well as you do. We’ll devise this attack plan collectively.”
Tomura wasn’t in school long enough to learn what a pain in the ass group project are, but given that villains don’t like being bossed around, it’s not the worst strategy. You hang back, physically and verbally, steering clear of Dabi and Muscular and only stepping in when the temperature needs to be turned down. You’re the least powerful person in a room full of people who think nothing of throwing their weight around. In some ways, it’s just like being at home with your family.
Tomura asked you to watch, and you start piecing together an understanding of the group’s dynamic. The most stable individuals in the group are Kurogiri, Magne, and Compress, all by a long shot. The most easily dysregulated is Mustard, and while you think Dabi and Muscular can probably control themselves, you also think they’ll choose not to. You have a pretty good grasp on Twice from your previous meeting. Moonfish doesn’t say enough for you to be able to tell, but he also doesn’t start fights, and Toga’s a dark horse. So is Spinner.
Spinner’s hard for you to figure. He’s got no criminal record, but unlike Toga and Mustard, he’s old enough to have collected one. He’s probably the biggest Stain fan of the group, the only one who pushed back against Tomura on ideological grounds, but he’s also something of a team player. His role in the attack gets settled early, and he shifts to the outskirts of the group. After a few minutes psyching yourself up to do it, you slide down from the bar and join him.
He glances over at you, then double-takes. “You look like a ghost in that thing,” he says. “It works, though. I’d hide my face if my face mattered.”
“How do you mean?” you ask. “You’re joining the League of Villains. Your face is about to get pretty famous if you don’t cover it up.”
Spinner laughs, but there’s a rueful note to it. “I’m not exactly breaking hearts by turning to a life of crime. At least this way I’m doing something with my life.”
Weird and weirder. “What were you before this? If it’s okay for me to ask.”
“Only if it’s okay for me to ask how long you’ve known Shigaraki.”
You think about that. “Does ‘a long time’ count as an answer?”
“That depends. Is it months or years?” Spinner asks. You don’t know if you should answer that, and Spinner can tell. “I know I pissed him off earlier. You shut it down pretty fast. I figure either it’s your quirk or you just know him really well.”
“It’s not my quirk,” you say. You think back to the first time Tenko told you his new name. “Less than forever, more than a year.”
“I was a shut-in,” Spinner says, answering your question without responding to your answer to his. No wonder he’s got a record. It’s hard to get a record when you don’t leave your room. “That video of Stain’s is the first thing I ever saw that made sense. If you all have the same goal as Stain did, then I’m in the right spot.”
You nod. Someone is raising their voice in the group, and you key in – but it’s just one of the versions of Twice, getting excited about something. Spinner glances curiously at you. “You sure you don’t have an alias or something?”
You shake your head. You might be at a meeting of villains, wearing a disguise, listening to them plan to kidnap one high school student and traumatize the hell out of a few more, but picking out a name for yourself feels a little far. If Tomura thinks you need a name, he’ll probably give one to you.
The meeting breaks up two hours after midnight. You missed hearing the date the attack will take place, possibly on purpose, and when the group splits, leaving just you and Tomura and Kurogiri, you don’t ask what it was. Kurogiri pours drinks for you and Tomura. You sit down at the bar next to him, and he speaks without looking up from his glass. “What did you find out about Spinner?”
“He was a shut-in before. As long as you can tie your goals to Stain’s, he’ll follow along,” you say. Tomura nods. “How did the rest of it go?”
“I’m leaving some of the on-site planning to them. I’m not there to give orders, so they need to be able to adapt.” Tomura takes a sip of his drink. “Dabi’s a pain in the ass, like I thought, but I’m giving him temporary control of a Nomu to use during the fight. That should keep him quiet for now.”
He’s thought of everything. “You’re good at this stuff,” you say. “You barely needed me.”
Tomura looks up. “Yes, I do.”
It’s quiet for a little bit after that. You and Tomura drink, you staring down into your glass and Tomura staring at you, until you look up at the clock behind the bar and realize what time it is. “I have work in the morning. I have to go home.”
“Stay.” Tomura catches your sleeve with three fingers, but a small portal opens, depositing your bag a few feet away on the bar. “Kurogiri can take you to work from here.”
“I can’t show up in yesterday’s clothes. And I need to sleep. So do you.” You’re right, and Tomura knows it. He scowls anyway. He’s never happy when you leave, but right now he looks unhappier than usual. “What is it?’
“Once the attack happens, I can’t bring you back until things settle down.” Tomura’s looking unhappier by the second. “The brat can’t see you until I know he’s with us.”
“Oh,” you say. You wonder how long that will take. “That’s okay. I understand.”
“It’s not okay,” Tomura snaps. “It’s – take that thing off. I need to see you.”
You take it off quickly. “Kurogiri,” Tomura says. “Turn around.”
“I will return in five minutes.”
Kurogiri vanishes, and once he does, Tomura lowers the hand from his face, pries the other two from around his neck, and just like that, he’s Tenko again. “It’s not okay,” he repeats. “I need you with me. I feel different when you’re here.”
“Different than what?” you ask. He must think it’s a positive change, or he wouldn’t want you to stay. Tenko doesn’t answer. “Send Kurogiri to get me as soon as it’s safe, Ten. I’ll be waiting.”
You see his eyes light up ever so slightly, but it fades fast. “You’ll forget.”
Your heart aches, but this is something you can fix. “Let me show you something.”
The last forty-eight hours have been chaos, and you’ve spent most of it miserable, terrified, drunk, hungover, or making out with your childhood best friend on his couch. But somewhere in the middle of that, you managed to get into one of the two boxes you brought home from your parents’ purge and take something out. You couldn’t bring yourself to wear the locket, but you tucked it into your bag along with your disguise, and when you put your disguise away, you fish it out.
Tenko looks suspicious. “Who gave you that.”
“My parents, probably. That’s not the important part.” You close your eyes and struggle to come up with an explanation, one that doesn’t make you sound obsessed or insane or too invested in this, in him. “I found this in a box in my parents’ house. There was a lot of stuff in there about you and me.”
“Like what?”
“Pictures,” you say. “A birthday gift from you. The valentine you gave me. I put all that stuff in there when I was ten and taped it shut.”
“Why?”
“My parents were taking me to get my memory wiped the next day, so I really would forget.” You see Tenko’s eyes widen. “I hid that stuff from them, but I saved it for me. So even if the memory wipe worked, I could open it up and remember you again.”
You open the locket and hold it out for Tenko to inspect. You see his expression twist. “I never forgot about you,” you say. “When we saw each other again, that’s why I reacted that way. I always hoped you were alive. If I didn’t forget you in fifteen years, a few days or weeks or months isn’t going to make a difference.”
Tenko’s jaw is clenched. The tendons in his neck stand out, and his hands are curled into fists at his sides. You were trying to help, but it looks like you’ve made it worse. “I’m sorry,” you say. “I shouldn’t have –”
Tenko seizes you and yanks you into his arms. “Shut up,” he mumbles, his voice muffled by your shoulder, or maybe your chest. “How am I supposed to let you leave now?”
“You have to. It’ll be okay,” you say. “I did promise not to go on any dates with heroes.”
It’s quiet for a second. Your arms are around Tenko, and you feel his shoulders shake. “That’s not funny.”
You know that particular note in his voice. It makes you feel better. “Don’t laugh, then.”
Tenko snorts, hugs you closer and tighter. Then he lets you go. “Next time you’ll stay,” he says.
“If I have the next day off, sure,” you say, and Tenko smiles slightly. “We never got to have sleepovers before.”
It’s true. You asked and so did he, but your parents said you were too young, even though neither of you would have been farther from home than right across the street. You see Kurogiri reappear out of the corner of your eye and know you’re out of time. “Be careful,” you say to Tenko. “Come find me as soon as it’s safe.”
“I will.” Tenko gets to his feet. “Turn around, Kurogiri.”
“Believe me, there’s nothing going on over there that I want to see.”
One of these days you’re going to ask Tenko why Kurogiri’s like that, why he seems like he’s two people in one. Not tonight. There isn’t time. You have time for one more kiss with Tenko, but that’s all – and the instant the two of you separate to take a breath, Kurogiri warps you away, dropping you back in your apartment. Your bag lands on the couch next to you. You still have the locket clenched in one hand. There are still a few drops of Tenko’s blood on your lips.
You lick them away, feeling twenty kinds of insane as you do it. Your mind is crowded with dozens of questions, thoughts, images, memories, all of them demanding to be addressed at once. You kick off your shoes, move your bag to the floor, and lie back on the couch. Your eyelids are heavy the instant you’re horizontal, and by the time it occurs to you that you should let go of the locket or at least put it somewhere safe, you’re fast asleep.
It's fall, the turning of the seasons from summer's heat, and Tomura Shigaraki is alive. He got away, able to break the monster's chains and live, free and whole and completely himself. That deadly, cruel summer couldn't touch him in the end. He's alive, don't you know it? And anyway, it's been 22 years since he fought that last terrible battle.
This fall is an important anniversary of sorts. He's now lived more years in freedom than he ever did in servitude.
His house is small, and warm, and his coffee is ready. It's Saturday morning and he's having a good breakfast with someone who loves him and someone he, against all odds, found himself capable of loving in return. He has the day off from his work from home IT job, where he spends his days in comfortable solitude with his two corgis sleeping at his feet. He absentmindedly rubs his wrists and knuckles, age making his joints ache during the descent into winter. No matter, he has support gloves now for when he games.
The old League, the best friends and truest family he's ever had, is coming over for dinner tonight. They try to meet up at least once a month, but it still seems like Toga is always in his house to coo over his dogs and update him on everything going on in her life. He's never said it, but she's been a little sister to him since shortly after they met and her constant visits are one of the most treasured aspects of his life.
It's fall, and Tomura is thinking about curry for dinner and if he could convince Sako to cook it because he's as much a magician in the kitchen as he is everywhere else.
It's fall, and his joints ache, and he has to wear reading glasses now, but he has known the blessings of age and the warmth of a full, happy life of love and comfort.
Can you hear me, Tomura? My deepest heart wants nothing more than this for you. I don't care what that man said. I speak it into existence and I pull you out of the terrible summer that you lived and died in. You will see the seasons change to fall and you will be happier than you ever thought you could be.
Ya’know in the photo app… you can favorite a photo. To find it no matter how old it is as it’s slotted into a small little folder for your pleasurable viewing.
It could be anything you want.
That meme you downloaded last week, or the news article you screenshot. That photo of your family thats somewhat nice from five years ago.
It can all be found in seconds.
So why… when their friends take the rare chance to take a look into their phone… do they go for search for photo favorites.
They could go for search history, or maybe locked notes. They could go for the Snapchat for my eyes only, private mode on whatever web browser they use.
But, no.
They just had to go to photo favorites.
That’s where they saw you.
Pictures the male was clearly in reluctantly. Photos taken of you smiling or laughing, photos you clearly didn’t know were taken. Photos of you blowing a kiss to the camera or photos that were clearly sent to him rather than taken himself. Some were just ss’s of your instagram or other socials.
Why would he have this? Your just friends. They knew he liked you a little more than he liked them but still, this?
There was a new debate between the group.
Was it obsessive or cute?
Their recluse of a friend had a major crush. A major crush on you, their other friend.
Ohhhhhhh this debate stopped pretty quickly.
Because the case of the missing phone was quickly solved by the owner of said phone.
To said he was pissed would be an understatement.
The single look he gave them told them enough to keep their mouths shut. Of course that didn’t stop them completely. Hinting at it in front of you to see the males cheeks flare up.
He got pissed every damn time.
Maybe it was irresponsible, sometimes plain cruel to the poor crushing man. The amount of times he’s almost killed everyone of them where they stood.
He wouldn’t, though. Because at the end of the day, there were suddenly new pictures of you filling his messages. He save them of course, not able to decide which ones he liked the best, he favorites all of them.
God, what power do you have over him?
Confession: I really liked MHA 424.
While I definitely liked the Izuku-Katsuki-All Might development (and my heart broke realizing this is how Katsuki learned Izuku gave away One For All), I want to focus on the first part of the chapter. What All Might said about Tenko was kind to both Tenko and Izuku — it’s a recognition that Izuku completed OFA (even if he passed it on) and that Izuku saved Tenko’s true soul (the only piece of Tenko independent of AFO) as someone who wanted to be a hero to society’s outcasts. I don’t read All Might or Izuku framing Tenko’s final wishes as a negative thing. I think the line about Tenko being the leader of the LOV means something much deeper.
To understand the full context, you have to read 416-424 together. Back in 417, Tenko challenged Izuku on the doorstep of his house: “Say you learn more, what then? Say you expose [my] past to the light? Will that change a damn thing?” Izuku said he didn’t know, but pushed on until he stopped Tenko from murdering his family.
That’s when Tenko’s hatred disappeared, the crying child disintegrated, and the soul took on the appearance of TOMURA.
AFO referred to this as “Tenko’s spiritual defeat,” akin to Tenko’s heart “suppressing the id.” And AFO said this defeat is what caused Tenko’s physical body to break down. But that’s AFO’s usual doublespeak. What he’s really saying is that Tenko became human. Tenko’s id -- his instinctive, impulsive darkness and “death drive” -- were overcome…
And yet Tenko still wanted to be TOMURA, the leader of the villains. It’s why he looks like Tomura and refers to himself as “Tomura Shigaraki” at the end of 423.
Without AFO’s distortions, and with the power of his heart fully restored, Tenko still wanted to make a better world for the villains. This “true” Tenko would never choose to kill his family, yet he still wanted to destroy the toxic elements of hero society. He still wanted the best for his villain friends. Tenko showed this true self, along with his true name and his true face, to Izuku. In the end, he had faith Izuku could do what he failed to do. Izuku, in turn, promised he would.
So, will exposing Tenko’s past to the light change a damn thing? Izuku said he didn’t know the answer in 417, but I think he does now. And he’ll have All Might and Katsuki in his corner supporting him.
Putting on his best outfit to cheer himself up-- it's not really working :(
rambling thoughts about the new manga stuff below
It feels so WILDLY incorrect tonally for none of the villains to be saved. So many people told deku he couldnt save shigaraki and he pushed back against that-- but from any outside view shigaraki dying is the same as Deku killing him, i dont accept 'his ghost smiled so he was saved', afo shattered shigarakis mind the second Tomura's heart wavered and he died instantly (nana saved a little bit of his soul long enough for him to hang out and punch AFO, that had nothing to do with deku)
but the last thing he said before AFO killed him was 'i have to be the hero to the villains' and the last thing he said to deku was essentially 'tell spinner i did was i promised'
but before both of those points almost the entire league (sans compress) is already dead (spinner seems braindead? though the next chapter had people messing with what looked to be his scales so maybe someones working on helping him) so Deku cant tell them anything.
ANYWAYS my 5% hope here, a way to walk this shit back, is that Tomuras quirk 'which used to have a regeneration aspect' regenerated itself and Tomura comes back and Deku gets a second chance to save him for real this time, and then tomura uses the regeneration aspect of his quirk to fix all the rest of the league. he can return Spinner to his old self, and Dabi has GOT to be in that tank in front of Endeavor, right?
(What else in the world does Endeavor have to care about right now except for his family? none of them (or hawks, his only friend) needed a healing tank, so im guessing Dabis horrific husk is in some stasis goo with no hope , spinner is brainded/insane with no hope, toga is probably 'disappeared on the battle field' or maybe in a coma with no hope.. )
((honestly that tank, them not telling us yet if anyones dead (it would be weird to REVEAL people died who we thoughts died on screen a year ago) and the weirdly timed 'tomura couldve been able to regenerate but i removed that' a second before he died are the only reasons i have any hope. im not the hoping type. a series i was interested in ending badly has never been Taken Back before))
i dont know if That Person is Tomura (it didnt LOOK like him, not at all, honestly they looked like a woman to me, but who the fuck knows when they are doing Anime Crazy Face) but it feels like the only way to walk any of this back.
They put so much emotional stuff onto tomura and then gave him the worlds clearest 'he never had any choice to be this way' backstory EVER (even his BIRTH was arranged by AFO thats so fucked up, i wouldnt be shocked if he bought him the dog he killed too) that the ONLY doubt i had that Deku would save him was in that i wasn't sure how youd arrange to keep him out of prison for life. Id been guessing 'rewound to childhood to get a second chance at a better one' (not great but hey, it beats dead or tartaras and it matches that opening i liked) but hey, if hes Confirmed Dead and Deku finds someone Similiar To Him but with Fixing Powers and is liek 'hey everyone this is my brother Tenko my american dad just brought him over isnt that great?' id fucking take it
ALSO plucking Eris horn off so that she wasnt an option anymore like.. from a writing standpoint feels like it has to be FOR something.
Finally: deku looked SO depressed in the most recent chapter. he looked miserable. he hardly spoke a fucking word. considering how he acted about Eri i cant imagine hes the type to be like 'whelp, failed to save those people, i guess ill save a random different person in the final arc and thatll help me get over it'. truly i think if deku to failed to save tomura he'd spend the rest of his life not feeling like a real hero. especially when he checks to complete tomuras wish and spinner cant get his final words? and togas final words to deku was that she liked him and then he ran off and she died?? just. no. it feels so tragic and dark.
i do NOT believe horikoshi has that much creative control, honestly, i feel like if he had complete control he wouldnt kill tomura (since hes written a Tenko into like all his other stories and he loves him) but a small glimmer of hope is Dabi getting fuckign 4th place in the popularity results after he'd already become the most dead looking fucker i have ever seen. SURELY management knows hes popular and would be open to them being saved and redeemed just for BRANDING purposes, right?
PS: everyones been joking but he horikoshi SAID we'd see dekus FUCKING DAD. what possible purpose could that man serve when he wasnt even watching deku lose his arms on international tv?? if its as a cover for bringing tomura back ill fucking take it.
Shigi X Y/N :D Pls! i'll follow you! wait i already am.
Tumblr media
Desperate little thing shigaraki x fem reader (oneshot)
Tumblr media
A/N: I apologize for the long wait but there your request for a oneshot, I hope it good for youuuu!! I base this a bit on how dabi and toga join the lov but I kinda forgot how it went so I apologize for this sounding a bit off. 18+ no minors, antis or ageless blogs interact with my blogs thanks you!! (✿^‿^) Hope y'all enjoy this oneshot. (This is a one shot where the reader is desperate for him and wants him needy)
Warnings: smut smut SMUT + light choking + both virgin losers losing it together + unsafe sex + creampie + spit + cum eating.
I was in the middle between the blonde girl and the man with the black hair.
Her name was toga, she was asking me to come along to join this group… uhh I forgot what it was called, she was yapping my ear off that I completely forgot about this group.
I stare into a man that has light blue hair… beautiful red eyes, it's hard to tell what he looks like without the mask but I started to blush and felt like I'm staring too hard at him.
“ state your name and quirk? ” he pointed at toga as I put my hand behind my back.
“ I'm himiko toga!! This is my best friend Y/n~” she's pull my shoulders closer to her as he rolls his eyes as he tsk.
“ I said quirk, not her. ” I look down awkwardly as I feel her hand being removed from me.
“ I can transform into anyone by using their blood, are you and stainey close? ” I can tell he is getting irritated by this as he mumble.
“ I don't get it. Is she crazy? ” he pointed at the guy with the dark blue jacket.
“ What is your name and quirk? ”
He makes a tsk sound as he tilts his head.
“ I go by dabi.. I used a quirk that relates to fire.” he begins to scratch his neck as he growls.
“ What is your real name? You can't be hiding secrets while joining tsk. ” I see dabi rolling his eyes as he said.
“ I will tell you when I achieve my goals but for now it's dabi. "Then he pointed at me while scratching his neck.
“ you… don't be a brat like him, what your name and quirk. ” I felt like he was staring into my soul as I blush, I play with my hair nervously.
“ my name is y/n and my quirk is called uhh… dream imaginary, I have the ability to control, manipulate dreams and I can enter it into their mind as well.” I look down to my feet as he rises up.
“ Giran get rid of these punks, they sound like brats. '' Then everything went downhill from here, I watched toga and dabi went forward towards shigaraki as I was holding her cardigan as I watched everything in a blink of an eye.
Kurogiri stop everything by his quirk as they stop their actions as Tomura was pissed as he said.
“ I need some fresh air, I'm leaving.” I watch him leave as Himiko puff her cheeks out as she crosses her arms.
“ Shigaraki, do you want them in your group? ” Giran said as Tomura paused for a second.
“whatever.. they can stay. I don't care. ”
“ rude… y/n, let's get something to eat and then come back. ” I nod my head as I look at the new boss, he quit…. Handsome when I saw him remove his hand mask away but it was a split second as he left.
I couldn't help but find him cute as toga pulled my arm away.
It's been a couple of days since I joined their group and whenever I see our boss alone at the bar drinking away with his drink while reading a newspaper.
Toga pokes my cheeks as she giggles.” y/n-channnn, I can tell something up with youuuu!! ” she did her happily singing voice as I started to blush as I looked away from him and toward toga.
I can tell her smile has gotten bigger then usually as I look away to feel my cheeks getting hot.
“ you likeeee himm don’t you y/n-chan! ” I cover her mouth as I shush her.
“ shhhh!! He will hear you toga-chan… I-” why do I feel nervous? I feel like a toga whenever she's talking about her crushes and gushing about them as I sighed dreamily seeing him alone and needing company.
“ I can't describe it but he looks.. lonely by himself and I-.. ” toga push you up and say.” you should sit with tomura-kun!! Go for it y/n-chan. ” I begin to blush red as I move my arms fast.
“ w-wait toga don't do that I…” I was forced to sit down next to him as toga smiled happily and said.
“ Have fun!! You guys have similar things to talk about, I'll be going~ ” with my shocked expression as I see toga skipping away happily as she went out with sister magne. I can feel his eyes stare behind my head as I start to feel nervous, I slowly turn towards him as I smile.
“ heyy boss, how are you? ” I wave awkwardly as he looks into my eyes, it's hard to tell what he is thinking and feeling by this.
He turned away as he look at the newspaper, you didn't notice his cheeks getting a bit pinker than usual as I tried to make small talk with shigaraki.
“ would you like a drink miss y/n? ” I turn towards Kurogiri as I smile.” yes please… uhh I'm not sure what to get to be honest. ” I put my thumb on my lip as I think, Tomura was not looking up from the paper.
“ you can try my drink… I recommend it.” I tilt my head towards him then at kurogiri.
“ Kurogiri make the drink for her. ” I feel my cheeks heating up as I nod my head.
“ Thank you.. ” I smile at this as Kurogiri pulls a glass out to make my drink as I wait.
“ So.. ” I could barely hear it but it was my boss who spoke, it was quiet.
“ I hear toga say that we have similar things to talk about. What does she mean by that? ” I tilt my head at Tomura as I blush.
“ oh… uhh I hear you like video games and uhh.. ” I look away as I cover my cheeks.
“ I enjoy playing video games and toga barely plays with me saying that she sucks at the game. ” for the first time I've seen my boss smile as he says.
“ Oh yeah? That's interesting, me and spinner play games too.” I feel his hand touch on top of mine as his pinky is away from my skin as I smile.
“ You should play with us on League. "My smile get wide as I spoke softly.
“ yeah!! We should do that, play together. ”
Afterwards Shigaraki invited me into their gaming. It was a bit hard but I need to be closer to him and need his full attention.
I would touch his hands a bit often, he got spooked when I first touched his skin gently then I started to touch his shoulder from time to time.
He got used to my touches and I think he wants more. He would pull me into his room and ask me to lay on his slim thighs while he played his game.
Today, I got a bit needy and desperate for him as I walked into his room out of the blue.
He turned towards me immediately,he looked a bit confused about this encounter, I walked towards him with a love heart in my eyes as I bit my lips.
Fuck it, I hope he doesn't kill me off the bat, I thought to myself. I sat on his lap as he dropped the controller onto the floor, he was bit taken back by this and was off guard by you sitting on his lap.
I put my chin on his shoulder as I hug him close, I play with his hair as I press light kisses to his neck.
He gasps from this, he has no clue how to act with you on top of him. I pull away to see him wearing his earphones as I hear tiny screaming coming from his earphones as I smile at him.
“ sorry… I couldn't help myself, you're so… cute and I want you so bad~. ” I didn't give him a chance to speak as I pressed a kiss on his lips as I pulled him close.
I was expecting him to push away and to yell at me for making him lose but I gasp into the kiss and feel him grab my hips to grind upwards slowly. I feel it, I feel my cheeks getting hot, I feel his hard-on poking at my crotch area feeling myself getting wet by this.
“ f-f .... ” he groaned from the feeling as he helped me bounce on his lap.
“ Forget the game!! I can't wait any longer. I need you too. ” he quickly moves forward to close the game as he turns his computer off completely.
“ please.. ” he huffed out air as he looked up at me. “ Please take your lower clothes off, I feel like I'm gonna explode. ” I nod my head as I quickly remove my pants and underwear. Shigaraki starts removing his pants as I gasp loudly.
He was not… wearing underwear, his penis flopped out but it hit his belly, it's so pretty just like him, nice shade of pink on his head, pretty veins on the side and I started to get nervous by the size.. Jesus, how does he hide that thing? It looks a bit uncomfortable.
He groaned as he said.” come here please.. ” he wiggles his finger towards me as I look away.
“ uhh don’t you have any protection or uhh lube? ” I tile my head at him as he sighs.
“ huh? I don't have any of those.. we don't have time….” I watch Shigaraki spit at his dick as he rubs it up and down as he coo at me.
“ Come here, you made this mess happen. ” I pout my lips as I smile quietly.
I get on top of him, grabbed his base to my entrance, is this how sex work? I don't know what I am-..
I heard him grunt as he put his hands on my hips to push downward, I gasped from the sudden feeling as I closed my eyes tight.
“ desperate little thing… ahh I couldn't help myself, you're taking too long. ” I'm struggling with this new feeling, his cock feels strange but in a good way.
I feel like my hymen just broke from him pushing deep inside of me, I roll my head back as I bounce up and down… it was sloppy, I didn't know how to do this and shigaraki was getting a bit pissed by this.
He grabbed my neck out of nowhere as I gasped, I held his wrist, it wasn't too harsh but a light press onto my skin and his fingers away from my neck.
He helped me by controlling the rhythm but also was helping me to make both of us feel good.
I cry out feeling his tip hitting that sweet spot as I moan his name out loud, I roll my eyes back.
“ c-crap I can't last anymore-.. ” he removed his hands away from my neck to pull me closer to him, I felt his hand grip my hips tight and hold me still.
I felt it, my eyes widened in pure shock, the hot flow of his semen hitting my cervix, I sob out as warmth feels nice… it's like hot coco in the cold winter.
“ sorry….” he mumble as he put his face close to my neck as I blinked a few times.
“ it's okay… did you feel good? ” he nod his head as I feel his hand move to my hips as he makes me move as I moan out.
“ you didn't get to cum right? ”
“ … yeah.. ” I turned my head bashfully, the first sex felt good but it hurt a little and I didn't feel my orgasm. Maybe it's hard for females to have a big orgasm.
I see him smirk as he says.” get on the bed. ” I immediately get off, I cringe a little from the noise coming out of me as I look down to see his cum slide down my thighs, my legs were wobbly from the sex.
“ That's… hot. ” I heard him mumble, I assume he's talking about it, I started to feel heat. I lay on my back as he was getting up and getting undressed.
I've never seen him fully naked as I started to feel my cheeks getting more red by the minute he dropped down to his knees as he began to eat me out.
I gasp from this feeling as I begin to squirm from this.
“ hold still.. mhmm you taste good~ ” I heard him groaning from this, feeling his arm wrapped around my thigh to pull me close, it felt sensitive, I felt like a knot was coming undone as I screamed his name.
A flash of light hit my view as I pant heavily, was that my first orgasm?? God this is… incredible.
I've never felt like this before and I want more. He pulled away to lick his lips as he coo.
“ god… you're so beautiful like this.. do you wanna. ” he looked away feeling embarrassed as I tilt my head in confusion.
“ Do you wanna be my girlfriend? Also do you want to play round two? ” I smile as I feel joy in my chest as I nod my head.
“ yes and yes to the last part!! I'm in the mood… that was intense~. ” Tomura chuckles at my response as he presses a kiss on your lips.
“ challenge accepted~!! Ready for this gameplay player two? ” I nod my head, giggling happily, feeling Tomura pulling me close to him.
“ hell yeah!! ”
I never had any prom night :( I always wanted one and wear a pretty princess-like dress So could I ask for Shigaraki and any other mha boys making some kind of special prom night? :3 Thank you <33
A/n: Damn Anon! I’ll make sure this is equal to some of my prom nights!!! You’re gonna love it! 😊 Please enjoy! This features Shigaraki & Todoroki
SHIGARAKI Tomura -
Tumblr media
“You’ve never been to a prom before Y/n?”
You shake your head, smiling at Toga. Shigaraki listens in as he leans against the doorway.
“I’ve never been but I always wanted to go. When it was prom night, I would watch from afar at all the dresses in the night. I wanted a big dress so bad.”
Shigaraki lifts off his mask and walks to the exit. He simply nods at you and Toga before leaving. He was thankful it was night time since it would be so much easier to get the things he needed.
You’re going to have the best prom with him and everyone else at the LOV!
He knocks on everyone’s door and lets them in on the plan. Dabi was a bit hesitant but after some bribing he said yes. You were one of Dabi's closest friends, so he didn't really need that much convincing.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
"Y/n, come with me to the roof. I have something important to show you."
"Okay Tomura."
You stand from your seat and follow behind him. You first thought that you were in trouble since you ate all the cookies on top of the fridge but then that thought disappeared as soon as you stepped onto the rooftop.
Little fairy lights ignited all at once when you took a step forward. 'Shigaraki' started to melt into nothing in front of you and the real Tomura Shigaraki was revealed in a suit. Along with the rest of your friends at the LOV. Tomura walks over with a dress in his arms.
"I overheard your conversation with Toga and how you never had a prom before. I took matters into my own hands and - and I got you a little something."
You were led to a dressing room by Toga who was dressed in a pink and red gown. You practically squealed when you saw what he picked out for you. He really did listen to you when you spoke.
Soon, you stepped out of the dressing room and Shigaraki was so in awe that he had to take the hand off his face.
"How do I look?"
"Terrible. Absolutely terrible."
You punch his arm and laugh. "Be so for real Tomura."
"Beautiful. I love this on you."
You spent the entire night talking, drinking and dancing with Shigaraki. It was wonderful, even as the night was coming to an end. You stand next to Tomura and smile at him before placing your hand over his.
“Thank you. This was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.”
You push your lips softly against his CRUSTY cheek before walking back downstairs. He stands there for a moment, hand hovering over the lipstick stain and relishing in that small moment you had just then. He could feel his cheeks heat up before he also headed downstairs.
———
TODOROKI Shoto -
Tumblr media
Shoto just overheard you when you were chatting with the rest of the girls in the common room. You looked like you were about to head to bed. You had your hair wrapped up, silk pajamas and had a pillow squished in your arms.
“I’ve never had a prom before. I’m probably not missing out.”
Some of the girls shared their input about the topic and asked questions.
“Why didn’t you have a prom?”
“I couldn’t afford a dress and I was anxious since I was the odd man out in school.”
You simply smiled and looked at the girls. Some of them looked surprised and showed pity on their faces. You waved your hands when they started to apologize.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. I look at it as dress up so I probably didn’t miss out on much.”
You smile, nod at them and then stand from the couch. Shoto was buying snacks from the machine nearby when you stopped behind him.
“Hey Todoroki, you having a movie night or something?”
“Just studying. This’ll help me stay awake and focused.”
He moves to the side so you can get what you want out of the machine. You had grabbed the bag of sour candy and then bid adieu to your classmate. As soon as you entered your dorm, he kept thinking about how sad you looked. He hurried back to his dorm and wrote down ideas to make your night.
He came up with the perfect plan!
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
You were still awake, staring up at the ceiling and scrolling through your phone. Was that stupid prom talk getting to you?
“Ughhh.” You push a pillow into your face as you sit up from your comfortable position.
Just as you remove the pillow, a knock sounds on your door. You checked your phone and saw it was 2 in the morning. You get up and mope toward your door. You open it and no one is there.
You look down at the floor and see a box of shoes and- is that a dress? You pick up the two items and then you see the note. You read it in your head and smile to yourself.
“Guess I’m getting ready.”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
After getting ready, you hear a noise from your balcony. You decide to check it out in case it was something serious. You pull back your curtain and look at the ice slide leading to a big patch of ice. You let out a “fuck it” and slide down to meet face to face with Todoroki… in a suit.
“Hey.”
“Hey. Thank you for the dress, I love it.”
“I had a feeling you would.”
He holds out his hand to you and you place your hand in his. He quickly clicks a button on his phone before tossing it to the side. A slow song starts playing and you both rock to the rhythm.
“As a person who’s also never had a prom before, I had to ask my mom about specific details that she remembers.”
He spins you around and goes back to rocking with the rhythm. As a crescendo sounds in the song, bright twinkles form in the sky. He can’t help but look at your facial expression of awe.
“You certainly outdid yourself.” You laugh.
“I couldn’t get everything done that my mom had mentioned in this much time. Only the things she remembered significantly. For example…”
He picks you up and spins you around in his arms. You squeal and laugh in excitement at this. He smiling softly at you, even as he slowly lowers you to the ground. Your arms are around his neck and his are around your waist.
“Did she mention something like…this?”
You lean in and connect your lips in a sweet and gentle kiss. You could feel his left side heating up and his right trying to cool his body down. It was such a nice sensation. You didn’t even want to move away.
You wanted to stay just a little while longer.
———————
A/n: that’s it! Thank you so much! Please think about requesting when you leave! Byeeee!
not gonna lie, enemies to lovers is so easy when it comes to kacchan.
akina hayashi. grey eyes. bright purple hair. has a quirk similar to tomura shigaraki’s. anything she touches disintegrates, but she has the ability to reverse it as long as she doesn’t wait too long.
she had to learn that the hard way.
shortly after her quirk manifested, her parents got a divorce (the whole thing was so nasty), and as an only child, it became just her and her mom.
katsuki’s been akina’s next door neighbor since the womb. under normal circumstances, this would lead the two to become friends.
the problem lies with izuku being akina’s best friend.
she was so protective of him that she begged her mom to put her in a judo class.
“i wanna be able to protect my friend, mama!”
it was the most passionate she’d been about anything since her dad left.
akina was walking izuku home from school when they encountered the sludge monster. she did her best to hold him off, all might showing up just in time.
she couldn’t move fast enough to stop her friend from latching onto the hero as he took off. with a sigh, she continued her walk to the midoriya household.
an explosion in the opposite direction caught her attention. she didn’t plan on making a detour, but if she knew anything about izuku midoriya (and she knew everything about izuku midoriya), she knew he’d be there.
she pushed her way through the crowd of bystanders and caught sight of what was causing the ruckus. the spiky blonde hair and bright red eyes peeking from the muddy green sludge made her stomach cave.
her body felt stuck. it wasn’t until a flash of green ran through the chaos that she took off to help.
for izuku, she’d do anything.
she felt those beady eyes stare her down as she forced her hands through the mess. it seemed like no matter how much she was able to disintegrate, it’d come back tenfold.
after all might put an end, the two instigating teens got chewed out by the adults.
“what were you thinking? do you have a death wish?”
“at least we tried to help. that’s more than what can be said about you pros.”
she shut that down quick.
during their walk home (for real this time), she was properly introduced to small might.
after izuku committed to training with the hero, akina was there everyday working with him. if he was really determined to go to ua, she had to be there by his side.
after passing the Entrance Exam, akina hayashi ended up in class 1-b, much too far from izuku midoriya and katsuki bakugou in her own professional opinion.
she got requests from both inko midoriya and mitsuki bakugou to look after their boys.
she made no effort to befriend her classmates. outside of class, she acted as izuku’s shadow. she didn’t say much, but she always there. everyone thought she was his girlfriend for a while.
the tension between akina and katsuki was tense. every time she saw izuku at the end of the day, likely covered in bruises and bandages, she’d approach with a soft look on her face, find out it was from katsuki, and offer to kill him.
“WUH- kina-chan you can’t go around saying things like that! people will think you’re being serious!”
“but i am, izu-kun.”
during the UA Sports Festival, it didn’t take long for akina to lose sight of her friend. during the cavalry battle, she got grouped with neito monoma.
after her team got eliminated, she waited for izuku with some of the other class 1-a students. the boys were enamored with her aura and the girls were mildly intimidated by it.
it made her anxious to see izuku fight and not be able to do anything to help him, but his classmates were confident that he could handle himself well.
she mostly kept her eyes forward, but when uraraka came back from her round against katsuki, she turned her attention to the girl.
“…”
“um.. hi?”
“.. you did good.”
something about the way she said it had everyone’s except katsuki’s faces turning red.
akina ended up working under a hero in hosu for her internship. she tried to use it as an excuse to not worry about her friend for too long. the beeping on her phone though, ensured that that wouldn’t be the case.
she excused herself and took off, running in the direction of the blinking dot on her screen.
she ran towards the alley and came to a stop just as todoroki was rounding the corner. the sight of her closest friend, his classmate, and a pro hero all laid unmoving and the Hero Killer ready to strike.
it wasn’t long after her arrival that they were able to take the man down. that’s not to say they came out of it unscathed.
they were all wrapped in bandages, and akina had a long gash going down the side of her face.
after that, akina essentially became an honorary 1-a student; she was invited to spend time with them outside of school as her own person and not an extension of izuku.
katsuki’s eye started twitching when he found out class 1-b would be going to the same Training Camp.
while at the forest, akina was tasked with improving the restoration of things she’s disintegrated and forcing the pathway of the destruction.
being in the same vicinity as her genuinely had bakugo tweaking, and kirishima and kaminari thought it was hilarious.
“man, i don’t think i’ve seen you this worked up in a long time.”
“and she’s not even bothering you! it’s almost like you have a cru-”
the explosion shook the ground.
she’d been hiding in a tree when the smell of fire hit her nose. katsuki and shoto had just gotten past her. she jumped down and made quick work of joining the two (safety in numbers and all that) and one of her fallen classmates. it didn’t take long for them to come face to face with moonfish.
getting permission from the hero to use their quirks was unexpected, but hearing that katsuki was one of the targets made akina’s blood run cold.
as shoto started putting up ice walls, akina grabbed the kid off of his back and made something of a barricade by breaking down the ground just enough to hide the boy.
she soon joined the fight, turning the blades coming out of the man’s mouth to dust as they made contact.
she and shoto held their own until dark shadow came charging at them.
the group of students kept pushing through the forest, eventually running into asui and uraraka.
in the end, katsuki ended up in the hands of the league of villains.
akina, moving on muscle memory, ended up riding to the hospital in the ambulance with izuku.
when inko showed up, akina got down on her knees and apologized profusely for failing to protect her son.
she did the same thing at the bakugou household.
akina, to everyone’s surprise, joined the group for the Hideout Raid. she said it was to keep an eye on izuku.
he knew it was a lie.
it was nerve wrecking seeing mt lady, best jeanist, tiger, and gang orca fall against the masked man.
they were all frozen in fear until the sound of the angry blonde rang through the air.
the teenagers eventually came up with a plan.
akina reached for the ground, using her quirk to disintegrate the concrete under the boy. he was quick to notice it.
after the boys took off down todoroki’s ice ramp, akina stayed put just long enough to see katsuki shoot himself into the sky and grab kirishima’s hand.
after she knew he was safe, she ran in the direction of the rubble to help those in need.
it took her a while, but she was able to help civilians get to safety, disintegrating everything in her path.
when she got away from the chaos, she called izuku.
“kina-chan! where ar-”
“izu-kun. are you and katsuki okay? are you somewhere safe?”
she stood by, holding her breath as she watched all might go against all for one on the big screen.
as she watched the hero bulk up for what was probably the last time and raise his fist in the air, akina felt her legs give out, and for the first time in a long time, she cried.
she found the rest of the first years and went with them to drop katsuki off at the police station before going home.
she stayed in her room for a few days, not even coming out when vlad king came by to speak to her mother about the new dorms.
the day she went out the check the mail was, coincidentally, the same day all might and eraserhead were visiting the bakugou residence. katsuki had just finished a conversation with all might.
“katsuki.”
he stopped, but he didn’t look at her.
“i’m glad you’re okay.”
she then turned to all might, bowing at a ninety degree angle, and thanked him sincerely for protecting japan.
katsuki walked back inside his house, his face warm.
(not gonna lie this is probably the first time they’ve ever had an interaction that had nothing to do with izuku)
Dyed Hair and Inked Skin
Tumblr media
Author's Note: I wrote this while in my feels and listening to Michael Buble. Idk what more to tell y'all.
Contents: Dyeing hair, tattoos but not in the conventional way. Kissing and confessions.
Word Count: 1924
Summary: You knew Dabi before, as Touya. And then Touya was gone, no matter how much you wished for him to come back.
Tumblr media
You weren’t stupid, contrary to what the rest of the world thought of you.
When you were little, you knew Touya. He was your friend. Maybe not the best of friends, but you still hung out when you could. You didn’t know why he hung out with you, you were quirkless and a bit of a reject, but he insisted he stick by your side. He said it had something to do with his father, but you didn’t press it. Your mother didn’t exactly approve of him as you both got older, but his attitude towards you never changed. He was kind, in his own way, despite his rangy looks and quick tongue.
A “don’t stay up too late, stupid. You don’t need bigger eye bags,” as he left was enough to know he cared, deep down. You were tempted to pull on one of his piercings, just to fuck with him.
But you didn’t. And you walked him to his door, just down the road. He flicked your forehead gently before he went inside, and you just rolled your eyes and stuck your tongue out. Neither of you talked much when you were with each other, the understanding for a need of silence heavy on both of your shoulders.
When you got to the end of his (massive) driveway, your phone buzzed in your pocket. You took it out and looked at the message, from Touya.
I meant it. Go to sleep soon
Yea yea. Night, Touya
Night
You were fifteen when he was declared missing, and then dead. You were devastated. Your mother was understanding, perhaps a little too much. “I think she loved him,” you heard her say to your father. They were outside your door, because you had locked yourself inside your room in a silent vigil. For Touya.
Who knew? Maybe you did love him. All you knew was that Touya was gone. Forever. And he wasn’t coming back.
Tumblr media
How you had ended up working for the Shigaraki Tomura, you weren’t aware. Your parents had not approved of your decision to work with “the bad guys” as they had so maturely put it, but you were an adult. You could make your own decisions. And you were their child. They weren’t going to throw you under the bus.
You still called with them every week. You knew your mother would get worried if you didn’t.
You had, in the end, gotten a quirk. Bodily Control, it did exactly what it sounded like. You could control what happened to people, sensed their very breath. Stopped or slowed heartbeats. You could break ribs, paralyze people… you could kill. You had killed, in fact, but it had taken so much out of you that you had refused to work for the next week. You could barely get out of bed without toppling over. Toga took care of you for that week, and by Thursday the fat on your hips had returned, and you could no longer count your ribs. You recovered quickly, but while you were down, you were down and out.
Shigaraki was pretty pissed about that. But what could you do?
Mr. Compress was more understanding about it. You seemed to become Toga’s favorite after that incident, claiming excitedly that you “don’t have to stab the baddies to get them to bleed!” You had just smiled weakly at that and hoped she didn’t stab you.
And Dabi. The only thing Dabi had said when you shuffled into the lounge that Thursday evening was “if you can walk you can fight. Or at least go get some more Jack Daniels.” He held up the empty bottle, waggling his eyebrows lazily.
You had just rolled your eyes, but you grabbed the bottle anyway and handed it to him.
“Thanks,” he muttered, already breaking the seal. You just nodded and left to go lay down again. By Sunday you’d be fine. Your hair would stop falling out by Sunday, and it wouldn’t feel like you were laying on crushed glass, either.
And by Monday, you were ready to go again. Maybe not on another killing spree (it took your body about a month to heal fully, but a week was good enough if you took it way easy). So life continued on.
But you weren’t stupid, as much as Dabi insisted you were. You saw the boxes of dye and bleach in the trash, the way his breath hitched whenever someone mentioned the name Todoroki, or how his body almost shut down when Shigaraki offhandedly mentioned “Father.” How he absolutely refused to call you by your name, the way he seemed to take a sip of whatever he was drinking when the both of you made eye contact. The way he subconsciously leaned towards you, just slightly when you were talking. The way his eyes would follow you for two strides, the flicker away like he was caught, even if you never said anything.
And so it was that you found yourself, somehow, walking up to the roof of the building you all had occupied, a blanket around your shoulders and a bowl of black ink in hand. You saw Dabi on the edge of the roof, leaning back and watching the traffic, the stars, nothing and everything.
“It’s a little cold to be out here in nothing but a tee-shirt,” you say quietly, draping an end of the blanket over his shoulders.
“I am my own heater, dollface.” But he didn’t move away from the blanket.
You held up the bowl of ink. Despite him avoiding you pretty regularly, this was something he let you do often enough. He shrugged the blanket off and pulled his thin white shirt over his head, discarding it next to him. You dipped a brush in the ink and hesitated over his back before deciding on a simple vine pattern. It was nothing like him and didn’t mean anything, but it was easy with the one brush you had. It started at the top of his spine, the vertebrae sticking out making it harder to paint properly, but it worked. It widened quickly, then tightened back up at the base of his spine. You added the leaves and a few thorns and finished the bottom with two ivy leaves facing each other. Then, using your quirk, you sank it into his skin, a tattoo for as long as he wanted it.
“Turn around. I have one more I want to do.”
Dabi looked at you oddly, but he complied, closing his eyes. You painted a capital “T” just over his heart, but didn’t let it sink in. The ink ran down his skin, and he shivered at the feeling.
“Why didn’t you sink it in?” he asked quietly, never opening his eyes.
“Do you really want to let him die completely?” You countered, just as quietly, watching his face for a reaction. You weren’t using your quirk, but if you had been, you were sure you’d hear his heartbeat elevate with that one question.
“I don’t know who the fuck you’re talking about,” Dabi snarled, pushing your hand away.
“I’m not stupid, Touya.” You looked at him, eyes flickering from the T on his chest to his angry blue eyes.
“Don’t call me that. You have no right to go around saying that name.”
“Right. Sorry.”
You both sat in silence for a few more minutes before you picked the blanket back up off the roof and slung it around his shoulders again. He didn’t shrug it off this time, either. You both went back to looking at everything and nothing, the both of you unwilling to look at each other.
Finally looking up at Dabi, you decided to take a risk and lay your head on his shoulder. When your still-sensitive skin hit the cold staples of his shoulder, you both hissed in pain. But neither of you moved away. Dabi was right: he was warm, but he was almost as malnourished as you were. His shoulder was sharp and dug into your cheek, but the pain was worth the comforting heat his body radiated.
“I wish…” you started, not sure if you should finish. When you felt Dabi’s gaze on your face, you continued. For his sake. “I wish someone had gotten to you before all of this.”
“All of what?” He sounded hurt.
“Your death. Your want for revenge. I wish someone had saved you before then.”
“Someone was close,” he said, laying his head on yours. “They were nice to me, no matter what my attitude was, but they didn’t take my bullshit. I think in another life we could have been happy.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
You were quiet for a few more minutes, and suddenly you were eleven, he was thirteen, you weren’t Heartrender and he wasn’t Dabi.
Just Y/N and Touya, sitting on the rooftop of your old apartment building with hot coco and popcorn. Maybe you two would share a kiss, maybe not. You broke yourself out of those memories; they weren’t now.
“I’m not saying you should bring him back, Dabi,” you said softly, half-hoping he wouldn’t hear you. But the noise had died down for a little, so you knew he did. “But I am saying you shouldn’t throw him away altogether. There were some good memories, right?”
He sighed, long and low and drawn out, and you knew you were right.
“Put it somewhere else,” Dabi said, not looking at you but lifting his head once more.
“Where?” You asked, using the blanket to wipe away the ink on his chest.
Dabi finally looked at you and then his eyes flickered to somewhere around his waist.
“Your hip?” You suggested, dipping the brush in the ink. Dabi nodded, and you shifted so that you could tug the tight jeans he wore down a bit. “And I thought girls wore tight jeans,” you muttered.
“Hey, you’re not the one putting them on, dollface.”
You started painting the small “T” on his prominent hipbone, and when it was done, you sank the ink into Dabi’s skin. You let his pants snap back over the tattoo, and set the bowl of ink down. Dabi grabbed your hand and pulled it up to just barely hover over his face.
His eyes were clear of anger. Vulnerable. Sweet. Free and blue and beautiful, and then they were closed and he was gripping your hand tighter, almost painfully so. Almost like he was preparing himself for something, or debating an issue with himself, before he let your hand rest fully against his scarred face.
And then he leaned forward and kissed you.
Oh. Oh.
It was surprisingly soft, just a brush of his scarred lips over yours, and you could feel his breath puff against your mouth, but then you were pulling his face closer again for another kiss.
And another, and another, and another, all as gentle and timid and light as the first.
When you both (mutually, for lack of air and dizziness) pulled away, all you managed to breathlessly say was, “so that’s how it’s gonna be, huh?”
Dabi nodded hesitantly. “If you want it to, then I’d like… this.”
“This being the – the kissing and stuff?”
“Yeah. If you,” his hand squeezed yours once more, “want to.”
“Hell yes, I want to.” You pulled Dabi in for another sweet kiss, mindful of the staples on his face, the few tears being shed, and the pain in your hand from using your quirk.
The pain was worth it.
MHA Dekus Character Arc in the Epilogue (Spoilers for Ch. 425 Ahead)
Since reading Chapter 425, one thing that has been bugging me is Deku's demeanor and behavior. Throughout the entire chapter, he hasn't smiled once, even during moments when he would normally be happy, such as the Big Three's graduation or Shinsou joining Class 1-A, now 2-A. The rest of the cast behaves as they usually do, making it odd that Deku, who is typically very positive and good-spirited, seems so sad and empty, unable to enjoy time with his friends. So, why is this happening? Here are my thoughts.
I think his attitude and demeanor have shifted because of:
The Guilt He Feels for Tenko's Death: Deku is indirectly, or even directly, responsible for Tenko's death since it was caused by transferring One for All to him, leading to the destruction of Shigaraki's body. Although he managed to save Tenko's soul, he couldn't save his body. This failure weighs heavily on him, especially since he was adamant about not killing him. All Might's words couldn't completely alleviate this guilt. Tenko's last words to Deku were along the lines of, "Make sure you do your best, so what happened to me never happens again, and everything I destroyed as Tomura Shigaraki wasn't for nothing." He wants Deku to rebuild a society where villains like Toga, Dabi, and himself never come to be, where heroes save them at the right time. Now, it's on Deku to rebuild a lasting society that isn't easily destroyed.
Witnessing His Friends' Pain: During the graduation ceremony, Mirio mentioned that they don't even get to start at zero and that the bright future where everyone can be happy isn't a goal reached today. Deku has seen his friends, like Uraraka and Todoroki, sweep their pain under the rug, not talking about it and dodging conversations by saying they're fine. It must hurt Deku to see his friends doing what he used to do—hiding their pain to avoid worrying others, even though they are hurting inside.
Losing One for All: Even though he voluntarily transferred it to Shigaraki, losing One for All is still painful, especially after all the effort he put into mastering it. In the hospital, he said he was fine and smiled for Bakugo to prevent him from feeling sad and worried. Despite this, Deku likely feels empty inside, having lost his "personality" (a literal translation for "kosei," meaning Quirk in Japanese). Deku began to think that what made him special and useful to others was his Quirk, feeling like an empty wooden puppet used by others. His entire self-worth was built around One for All.
Achieving His Dream: By his selflessness, self-sacrifice, and defeating All for One, Deku became the world's greatest hero in the eyes of All Might, someone he admires deeply. He rallied thousands behind him, cheering him on. Deku even mentioned that he lived his crazy dream and saw it come to light. Like every shonen protagonist, he reached his end goal. Now, he feels directionless, with no new heights to reach since he has already peaked during his fight against Shigaraki. What can he do now, now that he is quirkless again? Throughout his high school career, he did everything for others, never acting out of self-interest. He sacrificed his Quirk and bright future so the heroes could win the final war, the only one who could do it. I believe Deku's bright future would have been continuing as a hero with his friends, but without a Quirk, being a hero is too dangerous. Even though he still has the embers, they will eventually run out, rendering him practically defenseless in the eyes of hero society.
These feelings cause him to feel empty inside, with nowhere left to go and nothing left to do. He questions why he wanted to be a hero in the first place in a society that wasn't what he thought it was. Why did he go down a path that left him physically and mentally scarred for life? Was everything he did worth it, even if it leaves him feeling empty and unhappy in the end because his hero's journey came to a premature end? For whose sake did he do all this if not for himself? What is his finish line, his new dream, now that his original one is achieved?
This is where Deku's character journey will come full circle. Once he finds those answers, he will know which direction to take and how to move forward to his new shining future. For perhaps the first time in his life, he will do something for himself, something that makes him happy. He will realize his worth never came from his Quirk or usefulness to others but from who he is as a person. His personality is what makes him special to so many people, how he goes above and beyond to make others smile and be someone they can rely on during difficult times. That is what makes Deku a true hero, in my opinion.
Sorry for the long ramble; I just needed to get this off my chest. I've been thinking about it for a long while, even before the newest chapter came out. The new chapter kind of confirmed my gut feeling about the direction Horikoshi is taking with Deku's character, and I'm excited and a bit sad to see Deku's character arc finally conclude. Thank you for reading.
MHA 243…
What the fuck? The heroes attack the AFO so they don't know where Izuku is coming from. Fighting and fighting, AFO's body (Shigaraki) begins to decay. Hero: "Yay! We're about to win!” AFO: "No! The Demon King is the best! Give your powers to other heroes and steal their bodies. Izuku came in and sent his power to take over that bastard's body!" And yes, and yes… Kuroboro enters the field! LOV's mama won't let Shigaraki is sure to die, his friends are waiting! (We never saw Shigaraki mention Kuroboro when he was captured and handed to the police. LOV fans are probably in tears right now. (Sarcasm) Kuroboro is gone!! What the heck again!! Bakugo! Ideok Baku (F@UK) Go! You won't show up to steal the MC light. Is that so difficult? Horikoshi Kohei, if you don't let him (Bakugou) show up or be mentioned, will you die of a heart attack? And then enter the same circle. The villain is mentally and physically destroyed by the reverse power. LOV fans, woohoo! Tomura-kun hits old AFO with Deku, yay!! (And Horikoshi has a face to add the power of Ying Yang (white and black) even though he never brought it up to play with from the beginning. Ugh) Tomura: Deep inside I am a crying child. ME: And all the people who died, how will you (all LOV members) pay for it!!! Going to prison and complaining that he doesn't want the death penalty anyway! (I won't forget what you said, Toga!) Ha ha ha! If Spinner doesn't die, tell him, "Tomura Shigaraki tried to destroy everything until the last second." Ha ha ha (What the fuck?!) This is the second time! At Izuku and Shigaraki they talked after the mall! Very deep, very deep! (throws table) in the end ! Fuck, the episode is over. What the fuck!
