MBAV Magic Headcanons!

Benny, Ethan and Rory would all play magic together. Could even see them being in an afterschool club, meeting up at a card shop, or even just in ethans living room doing commander decks for hours.

Rory likes yu-gi-oh a lot more but Benny and Ethan arent really into it so he never has ppl to play it with.

Sarah loves the yu-gi-oh anime and gets into the card game because of Rory.

Ethan's dad played and collected cards when they first came out so Ethan has a Fuck ton of old cards (sold black lotus b4 he was born tho </3) and will cry if you bend them.

Benny would relate his Actual magic to his magic cards "Omg this is JUST like this one card!" He uses cheap cards as book marks in his spell book. [Esp ones with artwork he likes!]

Erica has played magic a lot, Shockingly to the boys knowlage. She tries not 2 bring it up because Her Nerd Days are Over but she'll do some fun 1v1s with you if you hand her a deck in private.

Heres my bethan headcanons.

Ethans a transguy, but knew benny before he transitioned. Benny had a huge crush on him in like middle school and when Ethan came out as a guy he was just like Oh.

and didnt know what to do with his feelings since like. theyre bros now. (Benny has a lot of internalized homophobia from existing in 00s)

but Benny comes around to realizing his feelings are still the same because Ethans still Ethan :)

and the mbav story line takes place after Ethan transitions but before Benny accepts that he likes guys.
