hi anon!! thank you so much for requesting this, and i hope it’s not too late!! i really hope you enjoy reading this as much as i loved writing it!!

━━ realizing his own feelings for you had been difficult enough, megumi thinks, but making you understand them proved more complicated than anything he’d ever imagined. at first, it had been nice. blissful even. the way you never realized how all the blood rushed to his cheeks from even the slightest touch of your fingers, or how stiff his hugs were because he was never sure just how to embrace you in fear of ever doing it wrong. you’d always brushed it off on his general stoicalness, never once commenting on it. it was nice. he had liked it that way.

and for a while, he believed that he could live the rest of his days this way. because he could revel in his fantasies without any disturbances, or without any harm or potential damage to your friendships. so he’s let you hug him a little longer than the rest; he’d let you play with his hair and style it to your desire; he had let you take him all the way to tokyo because a carnival was visiting.

but then, it was no longer enough. some deeper part of him desired your returned feelings, wished to hear you say it back to him. he wondered if he could evoke it from you somehow, in any way, until he realized just how futile his attempts were.

after missions, he’s deliberately approach you himself and hold you to him, gathering you in his arms as comfortably as he could. he found any excuse to buy you gifts. as subtly as he could, he asked of satoru to partner the two of you on missions whenever he had the authority for it. any excuse he could find to spend time with you, he used. and yet, you remained clueless. even as he threw at you the most obvious clues, complimenting you constantly, you’d beam at him and brush him off so casually, like he hadn’t said anything out of the ordinary.

at some point in time, he wondered if you were doing it purposely. if you were, somehow, sparing him.

and so, he distanced. out of fear maybe, of rejection, or ruining your relationship. to spare you your pity, to spare you from the act of rejection. he’s not entirely sure. but no longer were your nights filled with your head on megumi’s shoulder, a limitless sky above you and wet grass beneath you. no longer were your days filled with as much brightness from his small smile as the sun that shone in the sky. no longer were your evenings spent running far away from the rough rain pounding on your shoulders, dampening and drenching your clothes.

he wondered if maybe you were aching as much as he was.

it’s at four in the morning on a tuesday night — or morning, technically — that megumi’s confronted by the inevitable. you’re at his dorm room’s door, which he’s not even entirely sure is allowed, and you’re in sweatpants and an oversized shirt, both swallowing you whole. your hair disheveled and disarray, and there are slight bags under your eyes that tell megumi you haven’t attempted to sleep yet.

he thinks this is the prettiest he’s ever seen you, evident in the way his heart momentarily stops.

but instead of a smile, you’re frowning. deeply. and you don’t give him a moment to react before you’re pushing past him to enter his room. he’s suddenly hyperaware of how messy it’s become in the weeks of wallowing he’s allowed himself, and works at fixing some of the mess as quickly as he could. you don’t seem to care or mind, stomping over to his bed and sitting at the edge.

“you’re avoiding me,” you accuse him. he’s always admired how blunt you are, easily saying the first thing that comes to mind regardless of the consequences. “why?” you press on.

megumi shifts from where he stands beneath your gaze, even if he towers over you, and plays with the hem of the sleeves of his long sleeved sweater. “m’not,” he rejects.

you huff, standing up and walking over to him. you’re suddenly too close, and instead of his heart disappearing entirely, it speeds up too fast. “you are,” you reinforce. “did i do something?”

he’s only slightly taken aback. “no!”

“then what is it?” you wonder.

he blinks slowly. “i’m just tired,” he lies, and he knows you can see right through him, undoubtedly, so he avoids your gaze. your frown deepens, and then your hands are suddenly gripping his forearms. his heart’s in his throat again.

“megumi,” you begin again, your voice strong. “be straight with me.” a sigh escapes his lips, but he doesn’t speak, only tries to steady his breathing as he looks up to meet your eyes. his room is dark, the only refuge of light is the moon’s reflection upon the mirror behind him. it illuminates half your face, sharpening your features, leaving a slightly magical residue in your eyes. you look beautiful beyond words, and he’s about to say just as much, before you interrupt him and admit, “i miss you.”

his heart stops again. megumi’s lost track of the amount of times you’ve made him feel like this, but not in a bad way. never in a bad way. if anything, he can’t get enough.

“why do you seem shocked?” you continue. “you’re my favorite person.” you say it as if it’s the obvious truth. it’s in the same tone you’d dismiss his rare compliments and abundance of gifts and over affection. and that’s when, something, undeniably, snaps in his chest.

“i like you.”

the words tumble out before he can stop them, and at your reaction, he wishes he had stronger self control. your eyes widen and you lean back slightly so that only the tips of your fingers touch the sweatshirt he wears. but then, you beam, and you’re suddenly lurching forward and wrapping your arms around him, encasing him within your grasp. your grip is too tight, and megumi’s has long known how strong you are, but being its subject is something else entirely. he can’t even move his arms, because you’d forgone properly hugging him from around his waist or neck like you usually do. it’s not so bad though, because your laughter is muffled against his chest, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“i thought you were making fun of me,” you admit to him, pulling back slightly. “all the gifts and the compliments and the hugs.”

he raises a brow curiously. “fun of you?” he mocks. “i was trying to tell you i li— you like me too?”

you laugh again, shaking your head humorously. “yes! since forever, darling.” he’s pretty sure his heart’s smiling with him beneath his ribcage. “i meant it when i said you’re my favorite person.”

his eyes are soft as he meets your bright ones, and he raises a hand to cup your cheek. leaning forward, he shuts his eyes, reveling in the moment, losing himself in the reality of things, and presses a simple, gentle kiss to your forehead. “you’re my favorite person too,” he tells you, and his heart rests easy in his chest as he holds you through the night.

he dreads both itadori and his sensei’s relentless teasing in the morning, but it all seems worth it with your arms wrapped around him like this.

to think, it starts with comments on fics then blowing up the chat with spongebob memes and accurate takes on any topic. always on the same page & if were not... i throw a short joke at you. but ive come to be attached to the name lizbon. tbh, i dont think i would have gotten through the last 5 months of this year without you because people just don't know how to act. being able to vent and just laugh was better than worrying about shit that doesn't matter & you've taught me that well. and just fully admitting id let tom [ redacted ]. 😀 cant wait for more of this energy in 2022. always giving you hugs and wishing u the best. so much growth and love to come for us. mwah

i really like wisteria!! it comes in a ton of colors (though the standard seems to be purple but it's the prettiest shade of purple, so that's okay). not a typical-looking flower, but i really like the hanging, droopy look to plants.

it's also generally thought to symbolize long life and immortality, which is one. super fitting because wisteria takes awhile to grow and two. it's just a super nice thing to think about :D

I really didn't help prove your point with the many colours thing but I saw them, in fact I now have excess pictures of wisteria saved because I thought they were all so pretty. They are so cool, great flower, would definitely lead me to some magical forest realm and I'm here for that. 1k Event ━ Oikawa Tōru

oikawa’s general personality; easily the most complex character on the show change my mind. that whole i’m better than everyone, you’re beneath me, i’m superior attitude? all a front. a huge front. i’m not saying this because i’m insulting him, i’m saying this because i love him so much and he deserves so much better. oikawa’s insecure, deep down. he has this sense of inferiority, that he will never amount to anything better than where he is now, but he never lets it show. and that’s essentially what gets him through the day; it’s what gets him through anything really. but do not misunderstand this as me calling him weak, personality wise especially. because i think he’s got a really strong personality, just not a strong sense of self, you feel me? it’s cute when people write him as a whiny, crybaby, but it’s only funny to an extent, because oikawa is scary. the lengths he would go to? the raw determination he has? it’s frightening, really. he’s very driven, maybe wrongly so in that his motivation’s inaccurate, but he stops at nothing to achieve what he will, and that should scare people. also! many characterize oikawa as a people person, and i agree, but in a different sense. yes, he’s liked by many, but he’s also hated by many. and that makes me think that, essentially, oikawa doesn’t really care what others think of him. he’s just. there. his own thoughts are too loud for his own good as it is. he’s good with people in that he’s this charming, flirty guy, eases up any tension in the room with a good natured joke, has the prettiest, brightest of smiles, but it really doesn’t matter to him. he couldn’t care less about all that. he’s a people person in that he’s aware of his own presence, and he’s unbelievably aware of everyone else’s presence around him too. i also like to headcanon that oikawa has the certain personality that he does — that flirty, kinda annoyingly overwhelming personality — because of certain events in his childhood. this isn’t canon, of course, but i like the angst of thinking that oikawa was pretty lonely as a child, before meeting iwaizumi. that he lacked confidence, that other boys didn’t want to play with him because he was so dainty, so pretty, he kind of looks like a girl ew! and he was constantly left out. and now his defense mechanism is to shut everyone out, leave everyone unaware of the cloud looming above his head, stay quiet about his troubles, and put up this front that he believes he’s above everyone else even though he really isn’t that self conceited. which is also why i believe iwaizumi and oikawa are as attached to the hip as they are, because iwaizumi has always been oikawa’s, sort of, anchor. all that aside, i genuinely believe that oikawa is the most compassionate and empathetic person you will ever meet. he is so insanely understanding, and is the perfect shoulder to cry on, the perfect person to turn to because he always knows what to say, even if it’s the stupidest shit ever. he’s incredibly reliant, whether as a boyfriend or as a friend, and he’s truly one of a kind.

motivation; now onto this. oikawa’s main motivation would be to be better. that’s it. it’s constantly playing on a loop in his head. even when he perfects something, he’s chastising himself on how it could be better, how he’s not nearly trying hard enough. i see him as someone that’s never really properly satisfied with what he achieves. yes, he’s proud of himself, but there’s always another step on the ladder he’s climbing. he’s always had people be better than him at everything, and it always comes so easy to them, as opposed to his unbelievable hard work. i do think he grows out of it, eventually, though! when he’s older, playing for argentina, he realizes everything that’s happened was meant to happen, and that he’s where he’s meant to be. towards you, however, would be how he feels at ease with you. when you have a crush on someone, it’s always so nerve wracking and there’s a whole butterfly nest in your stomach and the world is always spinning and it always feels too hot. but with you, it’s the opposite. and more importantly, you make him feel competent. like he’s enough, and who he is, with all his flaws and all his insecurities and all his strengths, is who you want and who you desire, and nobody else. just him. 

oikawa’s love language; words of affirmation and physical touch. i definitely think he’s the type of person to constantly need to hear the words i love you, or you’re perfect for me, or i’m so lucky. don’t overdo it, sure, he agrees with that, but he does want you to always say it to him. a part of the whole insecurity thing, or just because he likes the way it sounds on your tongue, aimed at him. it makes him feel so fuzzy inside. he’s also really touchy with you, as your boyfriend. always has a hand on you somehow, but it’s not overwhelming or clingy in any way. he just likes touching you, and his favorite is hand holding. or maybe it’s your favorite. have you seen his hands. setter hands. heart eyes. he also adores hugs, long, long embraces. loves the way you fit so snug against him. you make him feel so warm and perfect and loved he can never have enough. 

oikawa’s preferred dates; planetarium visits, ice skating dates, strolls on the beach (esp at sunset), movie nights in, baking together 

kissing oikawa; so sweet. it feels like the first bite into a perfectly baked cupcake, where you just hum delightfully and sigh and smile because it’s so sweet, and so warm, and you’re a little dazed and you want more, more, more. 

what being with oikawa feels like; riding on a ferris wheel during nighttime and feeling a sense of nostalgia and bittersweet love as you look at the city skyline
