you could feel the rhythmic thumping of your heart against the warmth of your ears, the sound reverberating inside you like a clock as you waited by the field with the lime hazelnut white chocolate you knew yeonie loved.

it was nerve wrecking to think of the ways this could end and all the things she could possibly say. but alas you couldn't just stand staying in the shadows and admiring her from afar for any longer. especially with so many people pining after her. even if at last you'd be rejected, you wanted to give it a try.

when you spot her amongst the crowd of students, your cheeks grow hotter and your hair starts feeling sticky against your skin. her friends surround her in a circle like a halo of fairies and there in middle as if standing on a pedestal she smiles bright, eyes going cresents and cheeks cutely puffing up. so in contrast to the way you have seen her in class, siren eyes looking cold and face set in stone screaming unapproachable. and perhaps it was this thing about her having different sides that attracted you to her.

"actually i just wanted to say that i like you a lot, and i do not expect you to like me back but if you do, it would make me really happy," classic and simple, hands trembling behind your back and heart skipping beats.
