WIP Wednesday - show me your WIPs! anything, fic, art, VP, whatever you're working on!

I was tagged by @hightowerqueen! I haven't been tagged in one of these in literal years my god 🥹 I'll tag @issilya, @local-gonk-droid-union, and @elvhendis if you have any current wips you'd like to share!

I've been chipping away at a post-battle drabble that got away from me for weeks and I think it's almost done so here's a snippet from that!

Lidia spotted him on a table, shirtless and wrapped in bandages, with a healer tending to him. He moved sluggishly and only when told, but his posture was still straight and his voice was still clear. He looked… decent.

She chided herself again for being so worried. Of course Illario was fine. Of course he made it with only minor injuries. Why wouldn’t he? He always had demonic luck. Why worry about him, Illario the traitor, Illario the liar, Illario the cheater, heartbreaker, manipulator–

“Lidia?”

She looked back at him at the sound of his voice, realizing her fingernails were starting to dig into her palms. She grabbed a stray coin off an empty card table and turned it over a few times in her hand as she made her way toward Illario.

He smiled at her approach, winced as he turned too far, and gave a slightly smaller and surprisingly sheepish grin when she reached his side. “Stay right there,” he said, holding out his unbandaged arm. “That’s always been my good side.”

Lidia rolled her eyes. “You couldn’t possibly say hello, or ask me how I am, or ask after your cousin, could you? Do you even care?”

“I–” He hissed sharply and cursed as the healer pried something off his right side with a sticky sound. He leaned forward at the same time Lidia did, blocking her view of whatever was removed from him, and flashed another forced half-smile. “Of course I care, but I trust your delightful bluntness. I’m certain you would have told me the second you saw me if he was dead. I’m also certain you would look like you’ve been crying.”

She scowled and crossed her arms, angrily spinning the coin between her thumb and forefinger. “You’re a bastard.”

“I’m not, strictly speaking, but I never did get to know my father as well as I would have liked, so I’ll give you–” He cut himself off with another wince as the healer removed another piece from him. Once more, Lidia leaned forward to look, and once more, Illario intercepted her, this time by reaching for her arm.

“Don’t touch me,” she snapped, pulling away from him.

“If there’s one thing I can say about you, it’s that you never gave me mixed signals. I always know exactly where I stand. I love this about you - have I mentioned that?”

“You have. A pity I can’t say the same about you.”

Jimmy has had a crush on Joel for ages. But he thinks he's straight, so there's no point talking to him about it. Joel has had a crush on Jimmy for ages, but he thinks Jimmy doesn't like him back.

So the two of them have their 'flirting' bit, which Joel started trying to work out Jimmy's feelings, but now is on the edge of genuine flirting.

The facade comes crashing down when Joel 'jokingly' pins Jimmy to a wall. Jimmy panics, and then he sees the look in Joel's eyes. Which only serves to make things worse because he is currently being pinned to a wall by this guy he's liked for ages and he apparently likes him too? And OH GOD he leans in and Jimmy knows he's gonna pull away at the last second but he really doesn't want him to.

He doesn't though. He stops, checking that Jimmy's okay with it.

Jimmy is just also going to melt to the floor in a dramatic puddle whilst Joel laughs his ass off. He didn't know his kissing was that good, wow, Jimmy. Way to give a man an ego.

Jimmy regrets having a crush, but not enough to pull Joel into another kiss.

OH GIRLY I HAVE BEEN ITCHING FOR THIS ASK 😋

Rayna usually spends most of her time with Kokichi— cuz he literally won’t leave her alone (he loves her a lot lmaofoo) but I do kinda have this Danganronpa S au thing where they have like roommates (based off last names) cuz they’re like on a field trip— like it just makes sense. So based of that part of my AU I’d imagine she’d get roomed with Hiyoko since they both have S in their surnames!! I actually love Hiyoko so much— she’s one of my faves from SDR2, I think her and Rayna would get off to Rocky start at first cuz this is Hiyoko but I think she’d kinda see her as a little sister— and they’d hang out a lot more on the island after becoming friends and stuff. Also by proxy she’d probably get introduced to Mahiru and I think they’d get along pretty okay too. Also Hiyokonwould 100% tease her about her feelings for Kokichi it’s so silly like 😭😿MY BABIES LMFOA

To add onto this as well, Since they are roomed by last names in this AU that means Kokichi would get roomed with Mondo 💀💀 and they do not get along very well at all for obvious reasons. Kokichi pulls pranks, Mondo gets pissed, mondo threatens to beat his ass and chances him around the island only to run into his so call gf who is pissed asf (he tattled on him LAMDOO HES SUCH A SNITCH) so yea lmaoo I love mondo tho, and after that I’d imagine he’d be acting so humbled 😭💀 and would start being hella nice to make up for it and they’d be pretty chill after that.

ALSO OMG I THINK YASUHIRO WOULD HONESTLY LOVE HER SM LIKE HE’D TREAT HER LIKE A LITTLE SISTER OR SOMETHING, she’d also talk to aoi as well I’d imagine (cuz Rayna doesn’t know how to swim so I’d imagine she’d teach her— or at least after kokichi kept harassing Shuichi to no end for ‘stealing his gf away’….he’s something) EEEK I LOVE HINA SM SHED LITERALLY BR SO SO SWEET. I’d also imagine she’d run into Makoto, a pretty pleasant exchange from him and a few other (like nagito, Hajime,Chihiro, Taka, Gundam since they both like animals and I’d imagine gundam likes to spend time out in nature as well, and Sonia too!! I think they’d really connect) ALSO OKAY IK I BROUGHT THIS UP IN THE LAST SUMMER CAMP HC THING BUT RAYNAS MOM IS LIKE RICH— AND PRETTY POPULAR SINGER so I think maybe Sayaka would ask her questions abt her(she’s a fan lmao) Rayna doesn’t mind it so it’s cool, and I think they’d be too friends (def not saying this cuz Sayaka is one of my faves)

Also the warriors of hope, she actually doesn’t talk to many of them— only two of them, she’s only talks to Nagisa and Masaru, the other three don’t talk to her, or haven’t ever heard of her to begin with. Nagisa literally only talks to her to ask her what the weather is gonna be like for the next few days or later that day 😭💀 that’s literally it that’s all— not how’s ur day been, no how are you like lil bro is straightforward.

“What’ll the weather be like for the next few days?”

“Pretty clear sky’s, you may need sunscreen., why??”

“Okay.” And just fucking dips.

Masaru asks her the same shit— but he also asks her if she can control the weather?? 💀💀 also asks her shit like “if ur the ultimate meteorologist why don’t you study meteors??” Pookie…he still doesn’t like adults but he got curious 😭😭 they don’t talk to her on the regular, just on certain occasions or like maybe once a day from Nagisa, but that’s all.

2023 appreciation: sher edition ✨

the clock's ticked over to 2024. and it's just got me thinking that even after 16 years on tumblr (phew), this hellsite remains my most comforting space online. whenever i wasn't sure i could ever come out of my shell, the tumblr community assured me that i could still be loved, accepted, and supported for who i am. dare i say this is my...home??? 🥹

so i just wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful mutuals who've made 2023 especially memorable! may this coming year bring everyone peace, fulfillment, and great health. smile as much as you can, revel in even the smallest of good moments, and remember to work hard, play hard, and rest hard!

I know it ain't my business but like do people understand that our time on here or in fandom spaces isn't mandatory and neither expected.

like we genuinely have all lives and irl friends, and if you want to still reach out and talk with somebody even after you have exited a fandom, you can always come in their DMs, but pls don't expect creators to stop their whole life for you.

like I have friends in the hotd fandom I talk with daily although I felt it all behind.

there's no need to guilttrip anybody into feeling bad for simply wanting to distance and peace!
