Western Godzilla inspired fan continuity : a different kaiju faction
Now, Godzilla Unleased introduced the idea of formalized kaiju "factions"
Earth Defenders: An alliance of Godzilla and Mothra's allies and acquaintances.
Global Defense force: The human controlled mechs and Jet Jaguar
Aliens: Work for alien invaders
Mutants: Power hungry or distrustful. They just distrust eachother less than they do the other factions and are impressed by power. A temporary alliance if anything.
And quite a few DeviantArt artists liked that, it was fun. However what works for a global spanning apocalyptic event might not work with all tone/setting/ plot ideas
"Mutants" (a terrible name really, when their unifying ethos has nothing to do with origin), was interesting because it had no real prior basis in the franchise unlike the other.
However, there is a faction idea I have not seen much of
A horde/swarm
Tumblr media
Generally Aesthetic: Creepy crawlies turned giants: arachnids, lizards, insects.
Examples of precursors to this can be found by the adoptive family of Desert Monsters that escaped from a lab (plus Varan) in Scott Ciencin's Godzilla Invades America and Godzilla: Journey to Monster Island; the Kamacuras swarm in the Godzilla 2000 novel by Marc Cerasini; and the Area 51 episode of Godzilla the Series that showed some mutants peacefully cohabitating in their enclosures.
Building mainly on the first, this is a new type of faction of kaiju: a full on migratory community that builds temporary nests, where adult members that don't pull their weight face expulsion (like the prank-loving scorpion monster Sasori in Godzilla Invades America, who was not interested in capturing humans to feed to the younger monsters in the nest)
The membership is fluid, taking in new members and ejecting those that refuse to share food.
Beginning with escaped experiments, other kaiju of different origins (prehistoric, atomic mutations, or experiments in different locations or by other people) could join them in their travels.
Why such different species are capable of working together may lie in the exact nature of the classified experiments (attempts to make a kaiju army capable of working together most likely). [It did not get explained in children's book where Ant-man style size-changing technology was the main plot device]
Kamacuras
Kamacuras and Kumonga, a giant mantis and spider from the Godzilla films, were the founders of the horde of giant desert creatures in Scott Ciencin's books.
Multiple Kamacuras were shown as cooperative hunters in their first appearance on film, and instead having them just be prey Kumonga, both Scott Ciencin and Jacqueline Dwyer (writer of the children's picture book Godzilla on Monster Island) teamed the spider and mantis up. Scott's books even had Kamacuras carry Kumonga while flying.
(Scott Ciencin also made Kamacuras a brawler like an actual mantis rather than cannon fodder, taking on Godzilla in single combat and less flammable.)
Random thoughts for Kamacuras
(I've proposed in the past a warped symbiosis where Kamacurus are brood parasites of Kumonga and feeding on its eggs, making them mantis flies rather than mandtids, )
If want to get warped, you could have a leader Kamacuras feeding other Kamacuras that fail to dethrone them to Kumongal or threatening to only to pull them back at last moment
Kamacuras dipping its claws in the venoms and poisons of allies could be an interesting way to make them a greater threat
Hana-Barbera Godzilla
The Valley of the Giants episode has some examples of other giant insects
Godzilla the Series
Many creatures from Tristar's Godzilla the Series could be repurposed for such a faction, such as the
giant rats,
The Giant Widow spiders brood,
the giant water beetle,
Giant Bees and Giant termites, and their queens
Batty the giant bat (even works with how many of the original monsters in Godzilla: Journey to Monster Island have cutesy names)
the area 51 monsters: the giant armadillo, and thorny devil
From Godzilla: King of the Monsters by Marvel:
I could see Doctor Demonicus' creations having the proper aesthetics for a horde of monsters. While in the book they could not leave the lair for long without dying from lacking a special form radiation they depended on, that can easily be dropped.
Ghilaron: giant lizard. has a saillike fin like a bassilisk lizard, and a backward curving large horn that brings to mind parasauralophus
Centipor: Giant wormlike thing with many legs that look soft and rubbery like a toy. ( I think looks more like a deep sea woerm of some kind. Has many antenna and what may be feelers or prooboscids a random-seeming pattern on head. Has a very different design on the cover of their comic.
Lepirax: Butterfly inspired monster with jaws instead of a proboscis. An agile flier that goes after smaller targets such as helicopters in their comic appearance, mostly ignoring Godzilla at first. Could be combined design-wise with Dark Horse's concept art for an unuse Mothra-like monster for their Godzilla comic series. The scary American posters for Mothra (1961) could also be an inspiration for a design.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batragon, the most powerful of Demonicus' creations, a combination of bat and Komodo dragon, (and smart enough it could be trained to immobilize ships without destroying cargo) could also fit if they lose a master commanding them and go rogue.
Related monster idea
Ts-eh-GO
Tumblr media
A trained giant scorpion under the employ the U.S army, the plot dumbly has the army betray and try to kill it after a cheaper bioweapon of a swarm of smaller scorpions is developed.
But honestly in a more continuity driven story , a human government having a kaiju under their control with mixed feelings about and could be tied to the mystery and intended goal of the labs of members of a swarm mentioned above. Ts-eh-go (who needs a slightly different name as it's just the Navajo word for scorpion enunciated slowly) could be their only success. Ts-eh-go in their episode seems to cause psychic disturbances with one character having prophetic nightmares about it. While just a weird plot point , it could be turned into a thing where the creature just gives "bad vibes" to psychically sensitive as a side effect of experiments. Like the opposite of Mothra.

Variants and Their Nexus Events
Adrian and Jackie: 0 Variants.
Julie: 1 Variant.
Bridger: Several Variants, with two significant ones.
Lucia: 3 Variants.
Details are under the read more.
Tumblr media
Adrian and Jackie: 0 Variants.
They're good kids. Adrian especially can be counted on to behave as people expect him to at all times because he's a massive people-pleaser.
Julie: 1 Variant.
In the Sacred Timeline -- and, in fact, in most other timelines -- Julie breaks contact with her parents when she goes against their wishes and joins Lucia at SHIELD. This Variant never broke out from under her mother's thumb. She went to college for pre-law, just like her mother wanted. Her spirit was beaten down, and she was miserable. She stayed friends with Lucia, but nothing was ever the same between them, and one day, Lucia stopped returning her calls entirely. Filled with self-loathing, she assumed Lucia had finally tired of her. A couple months later, during a seemingly ordinary moment of an un-momentous day, the TVA came to pick her up. As it turned out, Lucia hadn't cut her off at all. She'd been on the run. Without Julie there at SHIELD to convince them to give Lucia a second chance after she went rogue in the Bridger investigation, Lucia and Bridger were both killed when SHIELD tried to take them in. Once she realized what had happened, Julie pleaded guilty and was pruned.
Bridger: Several Variants, 2 significant ones.
Bridger's first Variant came about when she was eleven years old and decided to stay awake while her parents watched a Godzilla movie, instead of falling asleep and accidentally manifesting Godzilla. The TVA showed up at the end of the credits and took her away. If they hadn't, she would have hidden her mutant abilities for years -- never falling into Hydra's hands -- while she experimented with them in secret. She would have grown up to be a relatively happy, well-adjusted person just trying to stay under the radar, and she never would have turned to the world of superheros and villains. Likewise, without Bridger's Godzilla to endanger Lucia's life, Lucia never would have met the Avengers or set herself on the path to become a superhero herself one day. Eleven-year-old Variant Bridger didn't see why any of this was important and just wanted to go home. She was reset.
The most significant of Bridger's Variants emerged at the culmination of SHIELD's investigation into her activities as Meta. When Agent Martin ordered Lucia to kill Bridger, this version of Bridger wasn't taking any chances. She killed them both immediately, without waiting to see that Lucia had no intentions of following her orders. When the TVA's Minutemen came to arrest her, she killed them too. All Variants of Bridger who have undergone Hydra training attempt to kill the Minutemen who come after her, but this was the first Bridger Variant who succeeded in escaping. She kept killing or evading every team the TVA sent after her, eventually obtaining a TemPad, and an analyst was assigned to her case.
Lucia: 3 Variants
The first of Lucia's Nexus Events occurred on the same day as Bridger's, though a few minutes later on the Sacred Timeline. When Bridger's Godzilla attacked Lucia's school bus, and the Avengers came to save the day, Lucia hesitated a second too long and missed her chance to help Black Widow and Hawkeye evacuate the bus. Instead, it was the boy next to her who gave Black Widow his jacket to cushion the broken glass from the window they were escaping through. Without that spark of helping the Avengers, Lucia would never have realized she could make a difference in the world, and she never would have dreamed of becoming a superhero. Lucia's ten-year-old Variant was picked up by the TVA and, though she fought against it, reset.
The second Nexus Event came when Lucia was sixteen and taking driving lessons from her father. Spider-Man crashed into the hood of her car, chased by a fire-wielding villain. Instead of immediately shoving him into the car and helping him escape (and later defeat) the villain, Lucia once again hesitated. Spider-Man got up, waved apologetically, and swung off... and Lucia stomped on the gas pedal to get away from the battle, effectively killing any belief in her ability to become a superhero one day. The TVA arrested her at the next red light, and this time Lucia didn't try to fight them. Why would she? She'd just proven to herself that she couldn't.
The third and most significant Lucia Variant diverged from the Sacred Timeline at almost the same moment as Bridger's second big Variant. Agent Martin ordered her to kill Bridger, she refused, and Martin pulled out a gun to shoot Bridger himself. In the Sacred Timeline, Lucia didn't think before turning her bow on Agent Martin and -- though she only meant to stop him long enough to let Bridger escape -- shooting him dead. This Variant hesitated (notice a pattern?), and because of her inaction, Martin shot and killed Bridger. Guilt-ridden, grief-stricken, and in shock, Lucia allowed herself to be taken by the TVA. From there, she was pulled aside by the analyst in charge of Bridger's case and shown what happened in Bridger's Nexus Event. She was told she could either assist in capturing the variant Bridger (having been on Bridger's case for longer than the analyst at this point), or she could stand trial and be reset. Lucia, though she hated the ultimatum, chose to help.

which other cast attended what premiers while filming? maya attended OUATIH like 20 days after s3 premiered, Finn was at The Turning in Jan 2020 before, it sounds like, proper fimling started and the IT 2 premiere was in August 2019 I think? Was Millie's Godzilla premiere during filming or post?
I mean Charlie went to AYA's "premiere" and to Tribeca for NF, and did as much of a "premiere" as New Mutants got, even though it all got tanked by the pandemic. Sounds like he missed Sundance during ST's early year's but it's his main job? I just don't get what's so different compared to the other cast?
Was thinking of more recent things like Sadie and fear street and David and black widow tho p sure would be other exs. But mainly it’s just missing Sundance and Cannes (big film fests) like anon said it’s just funny timing/unfortunate things to miss

My Anticipated Films of the Year
1. Bad Boys for Life - I enjoyed the first two films, so I’m looking forward to seeing Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles from those films.
2. Birds of Prey - I have a feeling this movie is gonna be shit, but I’m wondering if it’ll be an enjoyable bad or just unenjoyable. In any case, it’d be interesting if they can be worse than Suicide Squad.
3. A Quiet Place: Part II - The first movie was good; where are they going from there?
4. The New Mutants - This was supposed to be the last X-Men film before Dark Phoenix took that position. So now I wanna see if Marvel is gonna retroactively include this film into the MCU.
5. No Time to Die - This is gonna be Daniel Craig’s last Bond film. So will it be a whimper or a bang?
6. Black Widow - I know, I know, the MCU should just be over after Avengers: Endgame, why the hell is this movie coming out now, I know the arguments why this movie shouldn’t exist. But I’m still interested; the MCU hasn’t been broken yet, and I’ll watch it until I can’t take no more.
7. Fast and Furious 9 - This movie series became so much fun when The Rock came in. So I have no reason to not see how much more ridiculous this franchise can become.
8. Wonder Woman 1984 - Superhero movie, sequel to a decent film. Sold already.
9. Top Gun: Maverick - Sequel to a popular 1980s film? I’m game.
10. Ghostbusters: Afterlife - Can this movie bring back the good faith of Ghostbusters fans after the godawful 2016 film? We’ll see!
11. The Purge 5 - Why not? These films are as fun as they’re stupid.
12. Tenet - Christopher Nolan does time travel. Sign me up!
13. Morbius - I shouldn’t see this movie. Jared Leto is going to ruin another comic book character as he did with Joker in Suicide Squad. But considering how obscure Morbius the Living Vampire is as a comic book character, I wanna see how he’ll be handled, crappy Leto performance aside.
14. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard - The Hitman’s Bodyguard was a poor action movie but a decent comedy. I can only hope the action in this one can be improved from its predecessor.
15. The King’s Man - A prequel to the fun Kingsman film series that’s gonna feature Grigori Rasputan fighting as a ninja. Fuck yes.
16. Venom 2 - How will Woody Harrelson delve into the role of Carnage when he can’t have an R-rating? I can only hope that Venom 2 can at least be dumb fun like its predecessor.
17. Halloween Kills - So is Laurie Strode gonna die in this one? If she does, I hope it’ll be a more satisfying sendoff than she got in Halloween: Resurrection.
18. The Eternals - If this movie doesn’t turn out to be the movie version of Inhumans from 2017, let’s hope it can be an improvement.
19. Godzilla vs. Kong - If this movie had the balls to have Godzilla say to Kong, “You have to save Mothra!” followed by Kong screaming, “Why did you say that name?!” this movie would become an instant classic for me.
20. Dune - Can this be the defining adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 classic? At any rate, it’ll certainly be better than the last science-fiction tentpole film released in a December (fuck Rise of Skywalker).
21. Coming 2 America - Is this movie going to be a worthy successor to the 1988 comedy classic Coming to America or is it going to fall prey to sequelitis (my money’s on the latter, but I hope for the former).
@blue-mint-winter  So aside from Dune, which of these movies are you looking forward to this year?

On 1st May, the episode “Web Site” aired. The episode featured H.E.A.T. being charged by the Pentagon to investigate the growing population of spiders near an Army base in the Canary Islands. The team quickly discover that a massive mutant female black widow spider has been laying millions of eggs. They must find a way to destroy the baby spiders and help Godzilla defeat the mother.

Eggs: The Mutant Widow lays an enormous number of eggs which hatch into more mutant spiders. They follow her into battle dealing with smaller threats. Larger individuals use their webs  while
Toxin resistance:The Mutant Widow''s young are are divergent enough that most insecticides effective against some won't harm others, and even they are highly resistant to ones that do effect them, only being slowed rather than killed on contact.
Detatchable legs: Like a normal spider, can drop legs in order to escape. These can still twitch afterwards ,confusing some enemies. When the Mutant Spider is first hit by an attack that is debilitating (lowers Power numbers) , roll a d8. On a 1-2, she negates both the WOUND that would have resulted and the decrease to her POWER NUMBERS,  having instead escaped by merely losing a leg.. This may only happen once per battle.
Venomous bites; The Mutant Widow's young poses
Weakness: A specific form of pollen found on the canary islands can paralyze her and her young
Personal Power Number: - 20 - Spider Swarm - The Black Widow's latest young have hatched. These inexperienced soldiers are considered more expendable and sent after ANYONE targeted by this PPNr. While quite small, their sheer numbers allow them to deal ONE WOUND. While the opponent is killing off the last of the swarm, Black Widow ATTACKS AGAIN for which there is no Defense Roll. other contestants will now consider her swarms a threat and include them in their focus rolls.
Special Rules
Arachnid Army-
-The mutant Spider brings her young with her into battle
The Mutant Widow starts with one swarm that has a Power Number half her DPN (cover bonuses included) and takes one HIT to disperse. Her spider swarms cannot make defense rolls for direct assaults upon them , but can make DEFENSE ROLLS for attacks that hit MULTIPLE TARGETs at once if they were NOT the target it was rolled against specifically (such as Monsterverse  King Ghidorah's Wing Lightning if it was centered on a target other than themselves)
If there is a pre-battle event, roll a d8. On a 1 the mother and her swarm arrive to the pre-battle event together . On a 2-6, her first swarm takes her place in that event. If the swarm survives and there is another pre-battle event, repeat the roll for next.pre-battle event.
On fourth and eight rounds, additional swarm with the same power number as the first comes to join the battle
The spider swarms WILL NOT attack any contestants during the battle, but will attack ANYTHING ELSE that is an enemy of their mother. Military, aliens, summoned kaiju that aren't a duplicate of an existing contestant  (example:, will not target extra Ganimes and Rodan's summoned by special rules). [An exception to this is extra Reptilicus, who they WILL attack. ]
All non-contestant foes of the Mother Widow must include her swarms in focus rolls  If the mother rolls her PPN , other contestants will now consider them a threat and include them in their focus rolls as well.
Bug Bombs! - As the Black Widow battles her monstrous foe, the military prepares to launch a new chemical weapon to incapacitate her. At the start of the eighth round, they fire 2 VOLLEYS, each with a PN of 30 with one at her and another which a  focus roll between her and any swarms of her young if on the field. If they hit, each causes 2 WOUNDS, with a minimum of 1 should the Black Widow manage to make a successful Defense Roll. If they are unsuccessful in killing the beast, the troops withdraw and hope the two monsters will kill each other.
----
This was fun. I like giving the smaller-tier monsters more fun stuff to do.
It will make the hopefully eventual Tag-Team tournament more fun
Mutant Widow was Biollante’s partner in the first tag-team tournament on kaijuphile forums.

Netflix’s new release and how people like it
Tumblr media
Netflix has added another movie genre to its Godzilla-sized catalog: superheroes. Every time a streaming behemoth nails a new movie, you will greet it with equal joy and fear that I can watch it on the sofa! Wait… Am I supporting Wal-Mart movies, these movies are eating fragility Studios and distributors? Probably. But for the “Old guard”, there is no moral confusion, because this is a comic movie, and you won’t find me crying for Disney. Spiderman will be fine.
Unlike the Avengers, you may never have heard of this extraordinary super soldier. Netflix caught a little-known story, “The Old Guard” by Greg Rucka’s Image Comics, which was the smart move. The wise move is to make Oscar winner Charlize Theron (Charlize Theron) star in this immortal, impossible old, kicking fighter named Scythia Andromache. The actress has replaced “Mad Max” with an axe. Andromache is called “Andy” and leads five unyielding warriors to be cursed for unexplainable reasons to survive any harm and live a natural long life. These mutants chose to use their own power to fight against the evil in the world, which seems to never end, according to Trending entertainment news.
What do people think about the movie?
It’s hard to imagine Theron’s heyday in Central Asia 6000 years ago, but hey, if Lucy Lawless can stand out from L’Oreal advertisements and become an ancient Greek princess with a bright head, then it’s very fair. Theron is great. When an American soldier named Nile (KiKi Layne, who immediately liked me) was cut in the throat by a terrorist in Afghanistan, she woke up to find that her wound had healed miraculously. She is also immortal. Andy (Andy and Co.) searched for her, and Nile (Nile) joined the fight against criminal misconduct.
The main villain is Harry Melling, a medical innovator in the style of Elizabeth Holmes, who wants to catch and experiment in a team to produce young drugs to fill his safe. However, the best part of the “Old Guard” is not the plot, but the battle. Its two members, Joe (Marwan Kenzari) and Nicky (Luca Marinelli), fought against each other during the Crusades, while Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) fought alongside Napoleon. Together, these AARP members contain thousands of years of combat strategy and combat skills, and this movie has been subtly modernized. Considering the unique historical background of the small characters, although the skirmish is cool, more visual effects can be used in director Gina Prince wood’s films says best arts and entertainment articles. In general, appearance is the basic action.
What are the new plans for new years?
Nevertheless, it is still very interesting and has more than a few winning first-line customers. Andy had asked Nile are you praying and he was right. With the postponement of Marvel’s “Black Widow” and DC’s “Wonder Woman 1984”, Netflix brought a new superhero movie “Old Guard” to fill the huge vacancy left by closed theaters this summer. People may be impressed by seeing the glasses, and by looking at it, they may find that it is strangely empty. Adapted from the comic series by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, “Veterans of the Guard” features Charlize Theron as Andy, who leads the four-tier fairy mercenary. Andy (Andy) is the abbreviation of Scythia’s Andromache, but the film obscures her Scythian blood and the past of the Amazon Warrior Queen. The little background story ok celebrity news magazines online got is: the death of her first immortal partner, which shows that their immortality is more accurate than absolute; after being accused of witchcraft, the second partner was imprisoned by sadism, This may be a stumbling block for a potential sequel; it was a joke with her short romance with Auguste Rodin.
