kinda insane today i had two of the most stereotypical retail customer service experiences

one being a guy who came in, saying he ordered this boot in store but got sent the wrong color. When going to investigate, I show him that the boot he ordered and the boot he pointed out he wanted were, in fact, the same color.

He argued with me that they were, in fact, not, and one was lighter than the other.

After going back and forth 3 times, trying to explain to him how the lighting changes the shade of color, he asks for a refund.

Then, on the phone, a lady wanted to ask me if we had a certain shoe in her size that was a different color than the one she has. She had no name, box, or ID number for the shoe, only the brand name, and having me fucking playing Guess Who over the phone looking at our online catalogue of the brand's boots we carry.

when i was a kid i was appalled by the food combos my dad would create. he just combined whatever things he liked, with no regard as to how their combo would be because "it will all get mixed up in the stomach anyways." i'm talking about cake on top of leftover pizza. meatballs and mustard on rye bread, dunked in pea soup with ketchup. i've been told one time i had friends over to play and rushed them over to the kitchen while exclaiming "guys hurry and come look, my dad's eating!!"

anyways i just made some nice rice with tofu and veggies and looking at my bowl here, i've topped it off with soy sauce, chili oil, flax seeds, sesame seeds, furikake, sesame + soy flavored mayo, and sriracha. and i'm starting to think the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
